The Daily Brief

1. Russia Conducts Large-Scale Nuclear Attack Exercise - Washington Free Beacon

Russia's armed forces conducted a "massive" nuclear forces exercise on Thursday simulating NATO and U.S. nuclear attacks and involving several long-range ballistic and cruise missile firings.

~Father, we thank You that You are involved in the affairs of men...you set up kings, and remove them. Nothing is hidden from You. You humble the proud, and lift up the humble. You see the thoughts and intents of the heart. We ask You now, to deal with Putin's heart...reveal Yourself to him and woo him by Your Spirit to come into relationship with You. If he chooses not to have a relationship with You, then we ask that You use this arrogant display of power to bring glory to Yourself. You are, indeed, the King of all kings, and the Lord of all lords! We worship You, and we ask You to protect Your people and deliver them from all evil. In Yeshua's Name we pray, Amen.

-"When God arises to judge, to save all the humble of the earth. (Selah) Human wrath serves only to praise you; what remains of this wrath you wear as an ornament." (Psalm 76:9,10)

2. Dirty politics clog Keystone XL pipeline - USA Today

The decision to yet again delay the final permit for the popular Keystone XL pipeline was made not in the White House or at the State Department, but in a posh private residence in the Sea Cliff neighborhood in northwestern San Francisco. It was there on February 19 that former vice president Al Gore and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the pilgrimage to Tom Steyer's home to kiss the ring of the hedge fund-billionaire turned super-donor, in exchange for $400,000 that night and a promise of $100 million more to come. Steyer's sole demand? Stop the pipeline.

~Lord, we ask that You will expose these works of darkness, and bring Your light to shine on these "behind the scenes" deals, sold to the highest bidder. The love of money, and the lust for power seem to go 'hand-in-hand' and brings sorrow and judgment to all who practice this evil. We ask for Your exposure to flood light on these doings and show the world the subversiveness by which these decisions are being made. We want what's best for the people of this great nation, and not to line the pockets of those who do evil. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

- "No servant is able to serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (riches, or anything in which you trust and on which you rely). Now the Pharisees, who were covetous and lovers of money, heard all these things [taken together], and they began to sneer at and ridicule and scoff at Him. But He said to them, You are the ones who declare yourselves just and upright before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted and highly thought of among men is detestable and abhorrent (an abomination) in the sight of God." (Luke 16:13-16)

3. US House approves new Benghazi inquiry - Washington Examiner

The US House of Representatives has voted to create a panel to investigate the White House response to the 2012 attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Republicans have said the Democratic Obama administration misled the public on the nature of the attack. Four Americans including US Ambassador Chris Stevens were killed. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said he will not form a select committee in the upper chamber to examine the fatal terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, despite a House move to create such a panel.

~Lord, we thank You that our House of Representatives has approved an inquiry into the Benghazi fiasco that took place on the anniversary of 9/ll. We are disappointed, though not surprised, by the uncooperation of the Senate with their control by democrats, who wish to protect this administration from accountability. Again, we know You love truth, and You are the Truth! May the American public take note of this desire in the Senate to keep the facts hidden from the people, so as to advance their own private agenda, and may that agenda be foiled and exposed for what it is. Amen.

- "But there is a God in Heaven Who reveals secrets, and He has made known what will be in the latter days." (Daniel 2:28)

4. Scientists create first living organism containing artificial DNA - Fox News

Researchers for the first time created microbes containing artificial DNA, expanding the universal genetic code that guides life. The advance one day could lead to new antibiotics, vaccines and other medical products not possible with today's bioscience.

~Abba, this reminds us of the Tower of Babel incident, when You introduced different languages, so the people could not be united in their desire to build a tower to heaven. It seems that man "creating" microbes containing artificial DNA, crosses a line into Your realm as our Creator. We pray that You will control that which You desire man to do in this one regard. Give success if that is Your desire, or thwart their efforts, if that is Your desire. In any case, we pray that good will come out of this, and not evil. We submit this to you, in Your name we pray, Amen.

- "For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him." (Colossians 1:16)

5. Archdiocese blasts satanic mass at Harvard - (BOSTON HERALD)

The Archdiocese of Boston is blasting a satanic "black mass" set to take place at Harvard on Monday and is calling on the Cambridge campus to "disassociate" itself from the controversial event.

~Father, we thank You that the Catholic church is joining the ranks of those opposed to this "satanic black mass" which is scheduled to occur at Harvard on Monday. We ask that these plans will not come to pass, and the American people will see how evil this whole thing is. Regardless of what happens on Monday, we ask that You will use this situation to bring glory to Yourself, and expose satan for who he really is. May this backfire on him, we pray. Expose him as Yeshua did when he made an open show of him in hell after the crucifixion. Amen.

- "Jesus said to him, "Away from me, satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only'." (Matthew 4:10)

6. Pope demands 'legitimate redistribution' of wealth - VATICAN CITY (AP)

Pope Francis called Friday for governments to redistribute wealth to the poor in a new spirit of generosity to help curb the "economy of exclusion" that is taking hold today. Francis made the appeal during a speech to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the heads of major U.N. agencies.

~Lord, we respect the Pope's opinion, of course, but we pray that the United Nations would be led by You, and not any human or group. Jesus does teach that we should help the poor, but He also said that we will always have poor people. Poverty is more than "lack of funds", but often also a lack of wisdom in how to use those funds. Money cannot cure the world's ills. You are our Provider, and You provide for our everyday needs, and also the wisdom concerning finances, and everything else we encounter. We thank You and ask You to reveal this truth to those who can teach this to the poor, along with helping them. Amen.

-"As it is written:'They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.' Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11) You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God." (2 Corinthians 9:9-11)

7. Fed Chair: 'Deficits Will Rise to Unsustainable Levels' - CNS News

Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen, referencing the Congressional Budget Office's long-term budget projections, told the Joint Economic Committee of Congress today that under current policies the federal government's deficits "will rise to unsustainable levels.

~Abba, we know that if one continues to amass debt beyond their ability to pay that debt, that bankruptcy is fast approaching. Somehow, most individuals and families realize this fact, but our federal government does not, or doesn't care. We ask for wisdom financially to be given to this administration, from the president, throughout congress, our state governments, and local governments as well. We ask that priorities be set in wisdom, and excesses be cut. In Your Name, we pray, Amen.

-"And beware lest you say in your mind and heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth. But you shall earnestly remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day." (Deuteronomy 8:17,18)

8. Obama delivers gloomy message on midterms - (SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE)

President Obama came to Silicon Valley in full campaign mode Thursday, warning guests at a downtown San Jose fundraiser that a Republican victory in the November midterm elections would be a disaster for the country.

~Lord, we ask that this president and the democrats will see and acknowledge the reality of the preceding article, prayer and verse, that we do need to get our spending under control. We cannot fund everything we see, and still pay our bills. We thank You for our two-party system of government, and pray for a healthy balance...not an impasse of stubbornness, but a working relationship for the people who elected them. We pray the people will elect patriots who care about this nation and the people whom they serve. We ask for righteousness to prevail in this Republic. Amen!

-"If My people, who ear My Name, will humble themselves, pray, seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)

The Daily Jot

What can you do personally about child slavery, murder?

We have watched the headlines about child abduction by the Islamic terrorist organization Boko Haram in Nigeria. A month ago, Boko Haram kidnapped over 200 school girls and is threatening to sell them into slavery. This is the very thing The Daily Jot ministry is trying to prevent with our ministry in Africa. Many readers may not know that while the Jot covers current events from a prophetic Biblical perspective, we also have an outreach in Ghana, West Africa to children and families in Islamic-threatened areas. It is not easy work. It is often dangerous to those who are on the front lines. In Ghana, our ministry is facing a sister organization to the Boko Haram called the Fulani.

While politicians like to placate Muslims by trying to convince everyone that it is a "peaceful" religion, the stark reality is that Islam is a violent system of organized crime and terrorism. Islam is the largest purveyor of human trafficking of women and children. It also has a large stake in the international drug trade. UN and State Department publications speak to this each year. It is no secret. Many in America try to wrap a law-abiding, welcoming cocoon around individual Muslims they know, the horrors of Islam, however, become quite real if your family is being murdered, raped, robbed and your kids are being kidnapped and sold into slavery--as often happens in West Africa.
The Islamic Fulani herdsmen roam the lands in Ghana with their cattle. They scope out villages by sending their many wives to feign trade. Then they move in with force, giving village elders the opportunity to convert to Islam or face the consequences of rape, murder, slavery and loss of property. Our ministry partner of 23 years in Ghana, William Agbeti, says, "Looking at the broader issues of terrorism, one may define and see the Fulanis as terrorists and foot soldiers for the establishment of the universal Islamic caliphate. The atrocities of the Fulanis in Ghana are recurrent issues happening in several communities throughout Ghana. In my residential area, these Fulanis drive their herds through every day."

William continues: "Our ministry in Ghana has been trying to fight off this canker with the establishment of rural churches. In one of the villages where we have a rural church, the Muslims have also come to put up a mosque in the same village. Had it not been for the presence of our church in the village, the Muslims would have run over the village a long time ago. The presence of the church in the village, and the resulting teachings, worship and display of love, has made it quite clear to the villagers the difference between Islam extremism and Christianity."

Washington: A Man of Prayer, 2014

"Monumental" Prayer Meeting on Capitol Hill, May 8 Commemorates George Washington's Dedication to God:
Speaker Challenges Government Leaders in Attendance to Recapture the "Smile of Heaven"

"Members of Congress, can a government call evil good and good evil and forge laws that war against the laws of the Almighty and the smiles of Heaven still remain?" -Rabbi Jonathan Cahn

The event specifically commemorates George Washington's swearing in ceremony on April 30, 1789, when, accompanied by Congress, as one of his first official acts as president, he offered a prayer of dedication to God on America's behalf.

The hall was filled with many government officials and politicians, including Rep. Michele Bachmann, Ted Cruz and Steve King, as well as Mike Huckabee who was the emcee.

Said Bachmann, "It's an overlooked day, but we are not going to overlook it. This is a seminal moment and we as members of Congress are inviting the nation to come back and remember this very great man - more importantly, what he did. He dedicated our nation to the glory of God."

Spiritual leaders were also in attendance: Bishop Harry Jackson Jr., Phyllis Schlafly, Tony Perkins, and Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, who gave an impassioned speech about the "Smile of Heaven" on America.

"The propitious smile of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself hath ordained," said Cahn. "Members of Congress, can a government call evil good and good evil and forge laws that war against the laws of the Almighty and the smiles of Heaven still remain? Supreme Court justices, can you strike down the statutes of the Almighty and overturn the judgments of the Most High and still expect the smiles of Heaven to remain?"

It's coming nearer to this old town
Rich and poor, weak and strong
It's bringing mercy, it won't be long
