  • "And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly." (Isaiah 32:3,4)

1. Senate Passes Dangerous Hate-Crimes Amendment
Democrats don't have enough votes to override a promised veto.

Democrats passed a hate-crimes measure today, but failed to collect enough votes to override a pledged presidential veto. The amendment, which would create a new federal class of crime based on "actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity," is attached to a Defense spending bill.

Five Republican senators who voted in favor of hate- crimes legislation in 2004 switched their votes today and opposed the measure. They are: Sens. Lamar Alexander, Tenn.; Robert Bennett, Utah; John Ensign, Nev.; and Lisa Murkowski and Ted Stevens, both of Alaska. The president is not going to agree to this social legislation on the Defense Authorization Bill," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told The Associated Press. "This bill will get vetoed." (Source: Focus on the Family; CitizenLink; Sept. 27, 2007)

Offer praise that President Bush can "see through" this stealth tactic to add a piece of social legislation to the bill that funds the military defense of our nation. Ask our Lord to strengthen the hand of President Bush as he prepares to veto this legislation. Finally, according to the Word of God in Luke 23:34, ask the Lord to forgive those who have voted for this bill, for they know not what they do. May He have mercy on their souls, causing them to come to salvation through the Blood of the Lamb!

"In that day the LORD of hosts will be For a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty To the remnant of His people, For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, And for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate." (Isaiah 28:5,6)

  • 2. Congress agrees to raise U.S. credit limit - Washington Post

With the U.S. government fast approaching its current .965 trillion credit limit, the Senate on Thursday gave final congressional approval of an 0 billion increase in U.S. borrowing authority.

Lord, we ask for Your wisdom in our Senate. Please cause our leaders to remember You are the one with all power over wealth. We pray for our leaders to have a desire to seek godly principles and wisdom from Your Word.

'But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day." (Deut. 8:18)

  • 3. Senate Republicans Help Pass SCHIP Bill - CNSNews.com

In the Senate, 18 Republicans joined all the Democrats in voting 67-29 to renew and expand a health insurance program for children. Democrats say President Bush is cold-hearted to threaten a veto. But Bush and conservative Republicans say the expansion of the program beyond low-income children is the first step toward government-run health care.

The SCHIP program was initially introduced to provide health-care assistance only to children of low- income families. Democrats in Congress have now expanded that "definition" to include children from families whose income is above the poverty level -- and sometimes greatly so. Intercede that the American people not be "hoodwinked" by this subterfuge, and will stand by President Bush in this well-deserved veto.

"A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight." (Prov. 11:1)

  • 4. New-Home Sales Tumble to 7-Year Low - AP

New-homes sales tumbled in August to the lowest level in seven years, a stark sign that the credit crunch is aggravating an already painful housing slump.

Father, we ask that You work in our economy to bring up the housing market to prosper families. We ask You to guide in balancing the market to preparing the way of blessing.

"Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." (Ps. 37:6,7)

  • 5. Washington changes its tune on climate - Financial Times

The world must cut emissions or sacrifice the planet, Condoleezza Rice, US secretary of state, told a meeting of governments on Thursday, in the most strongly worded statement on global warming yet made by the US administration.

Pray for wisdom and understanding over the global warming issue. Pray for truth and wise counsel.

"Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord and find knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the path of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints." (Prov. 2:5-7)
  • 6. Democratic Candidates: Gay Curriculum in 2nd Grade is OK - Fox News

A fairy tale about two princes falling in love sparked a backlash -- and a lawsuit -- against a teacher and a school last year when it was read to a second-grade class in Massachusetts.

Lord, please have mercy and lift the blinders off our leaders. We ask for a "God-consciousness" to arise promoting moral purity.

"Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you." (Hosea 10:12)

  • 7. Craig to Stay in Office 'For Now' - CNSNews.com

Attorneys for Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) asked a Minnesota judge Wednesday to let him withdraw his guilty plea in the sex sting case, and the senator later issued a statement saying he will stay in office "for now," the Associated Press reports.

Offer prayer for Senator Larry Craig, and ask that he, his wife, and his staff be given clarity of thought as they weigh this important decision. Bind confusion; loose peace.

"Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one." (Matthew 5:37)

JERUSALEM ON HIGH ALERT

Thousands of Muslims expected to pray on Temple Mount area

Israel deployed 4,000 police throughout Jerusalem on the third Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, preparing for a possible backlash from Gaza strikes earlier in the week. Police will be barring nearly all Palestinians from the West Bank from the city, although officials indicated they may allow men over the age of 40 and women over 35 to enter. The heightened presence comes as tens of thousands of Muslim faithful were expected to pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jews were to hold a funeral for a revered rabbi who was a key figure in the religious settlers movement.

The 96-year-old former Ashkenazi grand rabbi of Israel, Avraham Shapira, considered to be the spiritual mentor of the movement, died on Thursday in Jerusalem and was to be buried on the Mount of Olives. Police are also on heightened alert after Israeli forces killed 12 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in 24 hours earlier this week, prompting the Islamist Hamas movement to warn of retaliation. [Reported by: Intercessors for America]

Please stand in the gap for Israel over this weekend, and pray for the PEACE of Jerusalem, according to Psalm 122:6.

The following prayer points are offered today by Intercessors for Israel:

- Father, watch over this nation - especially Jerusalem today - another Islamic day of prayer in the midst of the Moslem's holy month of Ramadan.

- Lord, give security forces an alertness. Provide them with discernment to tell who among the Palestinians are terrorist from those who are not.

- Thank You for the incredible success Israel's security has had this past year. "Blessed be the LORD my strength, who teaches my hands to war, my fingers to fight:" (Psalms 144:1)

- May Israel's leadership - both political and military - have the wisdom, courage and liberty to continue to fight this war against terrorism.

- Expose all the plans of Hamas to attack Israel, or Jews anywhere. "No weapon . . . formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of Me, says the LORD." (Isaiah 54:17)

[Note from CHPP:

Amen!

A Closing Thought . .

"Fret not because of evildoers, neither be envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither. . . .Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land, and truly shall you be fed. Delight yourself also in the LORD; and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in Him . . . He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: fret not . . . because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, forsake wrath: fret not in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upo! n the LORD, they shall inherit the earth." (Psalms 37:1- 9)

1. Military Court Ruling Paves Way to Restart Tribunals at Guantanamo Bay - IFA

A decision Monday night by a military court of review will pave the way for the Pentagon to restart its terrorism tribunals for detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. "We welcome the court's decision," said Navy Cmdr. Jeffrey D. Gordon, a Pentagon spokesman. "We will proceed expeditiously to get military commissions back to trial at Guantanamo." Critics of the prison at the Guantanamo Bay naval base said they expected the Pentagon to try to quickly begin trials for two of the detainees who had been charged, and to move to rapidly charge three more. The Supreme Court is to take up the issue this fall. Supporters of the system argue that the Supreme Court is unlikely to throw out the entire military commissions system because it has been blessed by Congress. (Source: Intercessors for America; www.ifapray.com)

· Father we continue to ask that You bring wisdom to all of our courts, both civilian and military, so that trials of suspected terrorists can proceed. We ask that Your protection will preside over all adjudications and decisions, and that they will be done in the best interests of America.

· He guards the paths of justice. . . (Proverbs 2:8a)

2. Judge Rules Two Patriot Act Provisions Unlawful - AP

Two provisions of the USA Patriot Act are unconstitutional because they allow search warrants to be issued without a showing of probable cause, a federal judge ruled Wednesday. · Lord we pray that You protect the freedoms of our Constitution as we fight the war on terror. But we also ask that law enforcement not be endlessly trapped in red tape that prohibits their ability to track terrorists. · Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, your habitation, no evil shall befall you. . . (Psalm 91:9)

5. FBI Investigating Possible Sabotage of Chicago Commuter Train Tracks - AP

The FBI is investigating whether a section of commuter train tracks was sabotaged after Metra workers discovered a dozen railroad spikes missing in an area on Chicago's South Side. The spikes hold down metal plates that bind the rails to wooden ties. "If a sufficient number of spikes are removed in a contained location, there's the potential for the rail to shift, which would lead to disastrous results and train derailment," said Federal Railroad Administration spokesman Steve Kulm.

· Thank you, Lord, for revealing this danger before a disaster occurred. We bless You for Your mercy and ask for Your continued protection.

· And under His wings shall you take refuge. (Psalm 91:4b)

6. Joints Chiefs Chairman Causes Stir at Senate Hearing Over Homosexual GIs - AP
Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, caused a stir at a Senate hearing Wednesday when he said he believes homosexual activity is immoral and should not be condoned by the military.

· The wicked watches the righteous and seeks to slay him. The Lord will not leave him in his hand. (Psalm 37:32)

1. Bush Blasts UNHRC For Anti-Israel Bias, Iran Touts A World Without Israel - Jerusalem Post

U.S. President George W. Bush blasted the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) yesterday, for singling out Israel while ignoring major human rights violators, in his speech at the opening of the UN General Assembly. That afternoon, without the U.S. delegation present, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad used his speech to the United Nations General Assembly to unveil a vision of a world without Israel, in which America and Europe would be freed of what he said was Zionist oppression.

· We know that You love those who love Your nation, Israel. May our president continue to learn this truth and know how important it is that she not be divided for any reason! We ask for Your release of Iran from the hands of its treacherous leader who hates You and Your people. May Israel be saved!

· As the Apostle Paul prayed may we pray: "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved." (Romans 10: 1 NKJV)

2. U.S. Congress Denounces Iranian President France Says Nuclear Weapons In Iran's Hands 'Unacceptable' - AP and AFP

French President Nicolas Sarkozy also piled pressure on Iran at the United Nations, saying it would be unacceptable for the Islamic republic to get hold of nuclear weapons.

· Most Holy One, thank You for allowing American and French hearts to see the evil intentions of this Iranian dictator sent to not only intimidate and denounce Your beloved nation, Israel; but also to destroy her allies. May Mr. Ahmadenijad come to know Your Son as his Savior before it's too late, and may Iran be set free to know and serve You!

· "For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them." (Luke 9:56)

3. Congress Votes to Call Iran's Army a "Terrorist Group" - AP

Congress also signaled its disapproval of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with a vote Tuesday to call to designate his army a terrorist group. The swift rebuke was a rare display of bipartisan cooperation in a Congress bitterly divided on the Iraq war. It reflected lawmakers' long-standing nervousness about Tehran's intentions in the region, particularly toward Israel The House passed, by a 397- 16 vote, a proposal by Lantos, D-Calif., aimed at blocking foreign investment in Iran, in particular its lucrative energy sector. The bill would specifically bar the president from waiving U.S. sanctions. (Reported by: Intercessors for America)

· Offer praise for this bipartisan move in Congress. May they continue to call "good, good" and "evil, evil" in all matters related to the global war on terror. Praise God!

· "And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly." (Isaiah 32:3,4)

4. Iran Leader Says Nuclear Issue Closed - AP

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced Tuesday that "the nuclear issue of Iran is now closed," and indicated that Tehran will disregard U.N. Security Council resolutions imposed by "arrogant powers" and demanding suspension of its uranium enrichment. Instead, he said, Iran has decided to pursue the monitoring of its nuclear program "through its appropriate legal path," the International Atomic Energy Agency which is the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog. When Ahmadinejad was ushered to the podium of the U.N. General Assembly to speak, the U.S. delegation walked out, leaving only a low-ranking note-taker to listen to his speech.

· By faith in the Name of Jesus, place the Blood of the Lamb over every word spoken at the U.N. this week by Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, canceling ALL HIS WORDS AND DECREES. Continue in prayer for his salvation. If our God could lead Saul of Tarsus to the saving knowledge of His Son, Jesus Christ, can He not do this again in the life of Mahmoud Ahmedinejad??

· " . . . the LORD has been my defense, And my God the rock of my refuge. He has brought on them their own iniquity, And shall cut them off in their own wickedness; The LORD our God shall cut them off." (Psalm 94:22,23)

5. Terror Suspect in Oregon Plot Extradited - Fox News

Oussama Kassir, a Lebanese-born Swede pleaded not guilty Tuesday in New York Federal Court to counts that include conspiracy to kill, kidnap, maim and injure people in a foreign country; providing material support to terrorists; and distributing information related to explosives, destructive devices and weapons of mass destruction.

Prosecutors say Kassir and others wanted to set up the camp in Bly, Ore., to teach military-style methods so a community of Muslims could move to Afghanistan to fight or receive further training there. The camp was never realized. Kassir also discussed hijacking trucks and killing the drivers to raise money to support the camp, Garcia said. "The purpose of the camp was to identify and further radicalize individuals that would be willing to carry out attacks against the United States at home or abroad," said Richard Falkenrath, deputy commissioner for counterterrorism at the New York Police Department.

An indictment says Kassir told witnesses that he supported Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaida and that he had personally undertaken jihad training in Afghanistan, Kashmir and Lebanon.

· Again, Father, You have spared our nation from destruction at the hand of Al Qaida. Than You for being the great omniscient I AM. May many Americans realize that without You, we are nothing.

A separate report showed that the nationwide decline in home prices accelerated in July, posting the steepest drop in 16 years.

· Heavenly Father, as a nation, we need Your help to sustain our economy. Please revive our flagging home sales and strengthen our dollar for Your glory! Nothing is impossible for You!

· "For with God nothing will be impossible." (Luke 1: 37 NKJV)

7. Three Million Students Participate In "See You At The Pole" - ACLJ; FRC

The 17th Annual "See You At The Pole" national prayer event drew three million students across America and other countries including Russia and Turkey, this morning to pray for the Lord to help and bless their countries according to the American Center for Law and Justice. This year's theme: "Gather. Unite. Pray. Come Together." scripturally finds it's message in John 17: 20-23. Since its beginning in Burleson, Texas on April 6, 1990, "See You At The Pole" has grown from 45,000 students and has encouraged our nation's youth; and now internationally, other young people, to seek God's blessings on their schools, communities and countries. This annual prayer event is held every fourth Wednesday in September. [Sources: American Center for Law and Justice (9/26 Broadcast) and Family Research Council]

· We thank You Lord, for these young people who have been reminded to seek Your face in both good and bad times. We ask Your blessings upon them and ask You to continue to grow this event for Your glory! May many be saved as a result of this recognition of Your power, might and glory throughout Your universe!

· As Jesus prayed for all believers: "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You." (John 17: 20. Please see also verses 21-23)

It remains a work in progress, with various parties outlining different goals and an unsettled invitation list. (Source: Intercessors for America)

· Intercede for our national leaders - that every decision, action or plan to pressure Israel to give up land or evacuate its people from any territory would be frustrated and abandoned. May God raise up leaders in the United States who would support His end-time purposes for the people of Israel - and the Land of Israel. Ask the Lord - Who gave, in covenant, the land of Israel to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their descendants - to have mercy on the United States as our leaders continue to be determined to carve up the land and offer it to the "gentiles", (the nations) as a "peace offering."

· O LORD, ". . . in wrath remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2b)

5. SUCCOT GREETINGS

The festival of Succot, the last of the Jewish fall holidays, starts this year at sunset on Wednesday September 26th. Tabernacles (Succot) is a week long occasion of gratitude and praise to the God of Israel. All nations will join in the annual Succot celebration during the Kingdom age. (Succot greetings excerpted from Vision for Israel and Joseph Storehouse, www.visionforisrael.com)

HATE CRIMES BILL MAY BE VOTED ON TOMORROW!

Last week, some senators tried to attach the so- called "hate crimes" prevention bill to the Defense authorization bill, but Senator McCain objected. Later, Ted Kennedy took the Senate floor and declared:

"I have every intention . . . at some time of offering the hate crimes legislation. I know the question comes up why are we offering hate crime legislation on a Defense authorization bill? Well, the answer is very simple. The Defense authorization bill is dealing with the challenges of terrorism and [with] the hate crimes issue, to try and get a handle on the problems of hate crimes, we're talking about domestic terrorism, domestic terrorism."

Yesterday, Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid filed a motion to try, once again, to attach hate crimes legislation to the Defense authorization bill. A vote is expected tomorrow. (Source: Gary Bauer; End-of-Day; 9/26/07; excerpted)

· STAND IN AGREEMENT REGARDING THE HATE CRIMES BILL -- "This far you shall come and NO FURTHER, and HERE shall your proud waves be STOPPED!" (Job 38:11)

· Ask God to forgive Senator Harry Reid, FOR HE KNOWS NOT WHAT HE DOES! (Luke 23:34)

ALSO THIS WEEK IN CONGRESS

Fiscal Irresponsibility: Time flies when all you do is fight. Here it is, five days before fiscal 2008 begins, and Congress has completed not a single one of the 12 appropriations bills needed to fund the federal government for the next 12 months. With 07's budget running out on Sunday and 08's budget not even in the homestretch, Congress will pass a "continuing resolution" this week to keep its agencies in the black - at least until a final budget is passed later this fall.

Coincidentally around October 1 our national government may be hitting its "debt ceiling" (how much Congress says it can borrow); when that happens Congress usually votes to let itself borrow more (this time, probably about $850b more). (Our nation's debt is now 9 trillion dollars. See the National Debt Clock located at the bttom of the IFA website., www.ifapray.org )

On the non-deadline front, senators - unflagged by last week's failures - may take another crack at pushing an earlier withdrawal from Iraq and redefining our mission there, as it continues to debate a defense authorization bill.

Also on the agenda this week: The Senate plans to give the final okay on a $20b water works bill, HR 1495, while the House votes to renew (and restrain) a flood insurance program, HR 3121. (Roll Call, Citizen Joe, 9/26/07) [Reported by: Intercessors for America]

· May the LORD grant wisdom and courage to all those who serve in our Congress and all elected officials across this country. Let them not be distracted from governing by the lure of money, power or fame. Pray that God would encourage them to always stand for what is right and to faithfully serve those who have put their trust in them. (Ecclesiastes 8:1- 5)

Special note to CHPP Partners:

Please be in prayer that Title V abstinence education programs are reauthorized before expiring at the end of September. i.e., THIS WEEK. Pray that a continuing resolution, extending funding for these very important programs, is passed. Phil. 1:6

SEN. BROWNBACK INTRODUCES PRO-LIFE BILL

Ultrasound Informed Consent Act (S. 2075)

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kans.) believes that it could also be worth thousands of lives. Yesterday, Brownback, one of the Senate's biggest pro-life champions, introduced a bill called the Ultrasound Informed Consent Act (S. 2075) with co-sponsors Sens. Norm Coleman (Minn.), Jim Inhofe (Okla.), Mel Martinez (Fla.), John Thune (S.D.) and David Vitter (La.). Similar to what several states are debating, this bill would require doctors to perform ultrasounds and share those images with any women considering an abortion. Although no woman would be forced to view the ultrasound, she would have the opportunity to make the most informed decision possible. For that reason, even the most militant pro-abortion senators should lend their support to Brownback's bill. It's not just pro-life, it's pro-woman. The legislation would use cutting-edge technology to give moms-to-be a window into the humanity of their unborn children. When confronted with the palpable personhood of their babies, research shows that many women reconsider their "choice" to abort. Others are inspired to cease risky behaviors related to alcohol, smoking, and bad diet. While the legislation doesn't address abortion directly, it's certainly an effective way to reduce the number of them--a goal every American can support. (Family Research Council)

Inside the U.N. -- the IAEA's Deceptive Islamic Bait

The Daily Jot

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

The International Atomic Energy Agency, the so-called nuclear watchdog of the United Nations, has been infiltrated in its leadership by Islamists and terrorist sympathizers to the point that there is no longer any balance in Middle East nuclear policy and the IAEA cannot be trusted to give clear and accurate information regarding the nuclear ambitions of Islamic countries such as Iran and its vassal state, Syria. The IAEA recently elected Syria as Deputy Chairman of its September nuclear conference, two weeks after Israel bombed what was thought to be a nuclear facility in Syria funded by Iran.

Syria also made recent headlines when dozens of so- called scientists were killed in an explosion. Jane's Defense Weekly reported that the technicians were fitting a SCUD missile with chemical weapons when there was an explosion and many of them died due to Sarin gas exposure. Leading analyst and supplier of military information, GlobalSecurity.org, reports that in the early 1970's, "the Egyptian government reportedly gave Syria artillery shells capable of delivering chemical weapons. Since then Syria has developed a robust chemical weapons program, perhaps one of the most advanced in the Middle East."

IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei is an Egyptian born Islamist who has played dupe to the Iranian nuclear "rope a dope" game for several years. ElBaradei has for years dragged his feet that Iran had a nuclear weapons program in the making. In November 2004, ElBaradei said he did not believe that Iran had a nuclear weapons program. He told the news media, "I am not ready to jump to the conclusion and say this is a weapons program unless I see a diversion of nuclear material to such a program or I see clear cut proof that this is a weapons program." ElBaradei took the same approach toward North Korea, which was suspected of supplying Syria through Iran with the nuclear materials destroyed by the recent Israeli attack.

Egypt supplied Syria with its original chemical weapons capabilities. ElBaradei is an Egyptian Islamist who has dragged his feet in certifying that Islamofascist states Syria and Iran have nuclear weapons programs as aided by Russia, China and North Korea. And now Syria is Deputy Chairman of the IAEA annual nuclear conference under ElBaradei's watch-and Syria led a resolution against Israel as a nuclear threat to the Middle East. When will the world recognize that the Islamists are working together to spread nuclear and chemical weapons? Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." The world is under Islam's deceptive spell.

The Daily Brief - Tuesday, September 25, 2007

"And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly." (Isaiah 32:3,4)

1. Special Prayer Request for President Bush

· Please pray for the safety and God's protection of our President as he attends events in NYC and at the UN. Ask the Lord also to give wisdom to his words and strength to his soul, body, and spirit. Ask the Lord to make George W., His light in a very dark institution.

· "When I cry unto Thee, then shalt mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is with me." (Psalm 56:9)

2.. Armed Children in Iraq Featured in New Propaganda Video - ABC News

A new propaganda video from the al Qaeda-linked Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), features small children with AK-47 assault rifles. The narrator of the video refers to these young boys as the "new generation" of mujahedeen.

· To teach young children to hate and to fight war as adults is an abomination to the Lord, for He wanted little children to come unto Him to learn of His love. Pray for these children featured in this video and for all those being abused in like manner - that their souls are cleansed by the Lord so that each can fulfill the destiny that God has shaped for each life.

· "Bless them that curse you, and pray for them that despitefully use you."(Luke 6:28)

3. Bush meets with Palestinian leaders in New York - Ynet News

Trying to breathe new life into the Mideast peace process, President George W. Bush got an immediate reminder Monday of the difficulty of his task when Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas insisted a US-brokered conference should deal with ''issues of substance.''

· "Issues of substance" can only mean Israel's giving up more land for the new Palestinian state. Fervently pray that President Bush will stand firm against any agreements that further divide Israel and ultimately give more access to terrorism thriving under the Palestinian umbrella. Decree null and void any agreement that may have been made touching this subject.

· "The wicked worketh a deceitful work; but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward." (Proverbs 11:18)

4. Archaeologists find 2nd Temple quarry - Jerusalem Post

An ancient quarry where King Herod's workers chiseled huge high-quality limestones for the construction of the Second Temple, including the Western Wall, has been uncovered in Jerusalem, the Israel Antiquities Authority announced Sunday.

· Praise the Lord for exposing more evidence of His temple in Jerusalem, a building that the Moslems are working so hard to obliterate! Pray that the secular Jews and the Moslems will be convicted that God really does exist, still loves His children, and still wants them to love Him. Pray that people throughout the world will see this discovery not as a source of a building but as a sign of God's presence.

· "...that after three days they found Him [Jesus] in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions." (Luke 2:46)

5. Bush Admin. Urges Social Security Fix - ABC News

The Bush administration said in a new report Monday that Social Security is facing a $13.6 trillion shortfall in coming years and that delaying reforms is not fair to younger workers.

· Pray that the need for Social Security reform can be addressed, not as a political football generating much heat but no light. Of course, those 45 million aborted babies would now all be adding to the SS funds had they been allowed to live. America can no longer afford to be crisis-fixing and shortsighted. Nor can we pay the SS funds for the Mexicans that NAU demands!

· America needs to tithe and repent, for then the Lord says: "I will open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10b)

6. House bill would nullify controversial broadcast decency ruling - One News Now

The Parents Television Council is backing a House bill aimed at restoring the FCC's ability to prohibit profanity and indecency on television during children's viewing hours.

· Pray for the right sponsorship of this bill and its passage so that our children can keep their innocence throughout their youth and that their minds can be relieved from the confusion that wrongful viewing and images cause.

· "Hate the evil and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate [eyegate]..." (Amos 5:15a)

Prayer vs. Shame from Inside the Mountain

Prayer vs. Shame

Inside the Mountain
September 24, 2007

Arise, cry aloud in the night At the beginning of the night watches;
Pour out your heart like water Before the presence of the Lord;
Lift up your hands to Him For the life of your little ones

(Lamentations 2:19).

With fiscal year 2007 wrapping up for the federal government, there are several financial matters before Congress this week that need our prayers.

Without having passed any of its appropriations (spending) bills into law, Congress must pass and the president must sign a continuing resolution in order to continue fiscal year 2007 spending levels into fiscal year 2008.

Right on the heels of this, the federal government is literally expected to run out of money. Thus, before that happens, the Senate is going to vote on raising the debt limit to just under $10 trillion dollars. The Senate, Lord willing, will not pass this bill by unanimous consent because Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma will not let them. Praise the Lord for lone voices of fiscal sanity in Congress!

Since the House automatically deemed the debt limit increase passed, it can turn its attention to passing a Senate-passed bill that will literally put families making $80,000 a year into poverty. It will not do this by taking money away, but by raising the threshold of what defines "poverty" in America. PLEASE READ COMPLETE REPORT.

Prayer

Legislative Update
  • FY 2007-2008 Continuing Resolution
  • Debt Limit Increase
  • $80,000 Families in "Poverty"
  • Our Greatest Threats
With fiscal year 2007 wrapping up for the federal government, there are several financial matters before Congress this week that need our prayers.

Bottom line: there is no future for a country that sells its next generation to foreign debt holders.

A few are awake and see the direction we are headed; they are trying to fix things through shame. However, we know that the Lord will help the nation that calls on him.

The greatest threats to America this very day are not physical weapons, but financial resources. If we don't tear down our own financial high places, they will be painfully taken from us.

YOM KIPPUR EDITION

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple . . . (Psalm 19:7)

1. Senate Passes Resolution Supporting General Petraeus
- CNSNews.com

Resolution also condemns Moveon.org The Senate on Thursday passed a Republican- sponsored amendment reaffirming its "full support " for Gen. David Petraeus and "strongly" condemning "personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces." [To see the actual roll call on this vote, go here.}

· Offer praise that over two-thirds of the members of our United States Senate are now calling "good good, and evil, evil." Praise God, too, that General Petraeus has been vindicated from the slander of his enemies. Continue in intercession that every member of the House and the Senate, on every issue in the days ahead, be given "eyes to see" and "ears to hear" what the Spirit would speak to them, and to vote accordingly.

· "And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly." (Isaiah 32:3,4).

[Editor's note: Last weekend, we asked our readers to CALL YOUR SENATORS on behalf of this measure, which would censure Moveon.org for their tirade against General Petraeus. Praise the Lord!! YOU heard and acted; the Senate heard and responded; and justice has been served. Thank you!]

2. Judge Blocks Opening of Planned Parenthood Clinic - CNSNews.com

A federal judge on Thursday turned down a request from Planned Parenthood to allow its Chicago-area chapter to open a newly built clinic in Aurora, Ill. The judge is waiting for the city government to finish investigating charges that the abortion provider used secrecy and fraud to obtain a building permit.

· Offer praise to the LORD that the courts in our nation are now beginning to rule in favor of RIGHTEOUSNESS. Claim Isaiah 32: 3,4 (above) for our judges, too. Praise God!

· "I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line . . . Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the grave will not stand." (Isaiah 28:16a, 17a)

3. ACLU Loses Bid - The DenverChannel.com
ACLU Loses Bid to Establish Would-Be Transsexual's Right to Use Lady's Room

A federal appeals court in Denver has upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by a male bus driver who said he was wrongly fired for using the women's rooms along his bus route. At the time, he was preparing to undergo a sex change operation.

· Here is yet another example of righteousness reigning in our courtrooms. Praise God!

· "Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!" (Ps. 150:6)

4. Dems Soften Amnesty Bill, Hope to Win More GOP Support - Houston Chronicle

Senate Democrats may attach an amnesty measure to the must-pass Defense authorization bill if they can round up enough Republican support, the Houston Chronicle reported.

· Pray in the Spirit over all matters related to the various amendments that would impact our immigration policy, now on the floor of the Senate as part of the Defense appropriations bill. Pray that the members be ALERT and not be taken in by stealth measures to pass the same laws that were included in the badly-defeated Comprehensive Immigration Bill last spring in the Senate.

· "Pray without ceasing . . ." (I Thess. 5:18)

5. Bush vows to veto expansion of children's insurance plan - USA Today

President Bush vowed Thursday to veto Democratic plans to expand a health insurance program intended for poor children, sharpening a political confrontation in a way that one Republican senator called disappointing. "Members of Congress," Bush said during a White House news conference, "are putting health coverage for poor children at risk so they score political points in Washington." A Democratic proposal for a more wide-ranging State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP) is a step toward "government-run health care for every American," Bush said.

· This is another complex issue, but Father God knows ALL the details, and their ramifications. Pray that only His will be done for these children, by means of this legislative agenda, and not that of man.

· "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven." (Matt. 6:10)

6. Dubai Agrees To Acquire 20% Stake in Nasdaq Market - Washington Post

Middle Eastern governments announced a series of billion-dollar deals Thursday that would give them stakes in financial institutions at the heart of Western capitalism, raising concerns in Washington about sensitive foreign investments. Separately, Carlyle Group of the District said it was selling a 7.5 percent share of its general ownership to an investment group owned by the government of Abu Dhabi, which like Dubai is part of the oil-rich United Arab Emirates. The Qatar Investment Authority, a government investment fund, said it bought a 20 percent stake in the London Stock Exchange.

· The wolf may very well be at the door this time -- the economic door of our nation. All of our finances really depend upon our treatment of Israel. Will we continue to pursue a policy of dividing their land, and reap the consequences? Pray for a CHANGE in America's policy towards Israel and that we would GIVE UP promoting the "two-state solution" now on the table in Jerusalem. Pray for a miracle!

· "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases." (Proverbs 21:1)

7. Congress Reacts to Dubai Deal - Washington Post

Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.), who heads the congressional Joint Economic Committee, called on Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. to investigate the deal. Schumer said the Dubai exchange "is majority owned and controlled by the government of Dubai, which has previously been cited as a nexus of terror financing, money laundering, and a potential crossroads for shipping and trading for Iran in their quest for nuclear materials and technology."

· Pray that more questions are raised about this NASDAQ deal by more menbers of the Senate in the days ahead; and for hearings to follow in both the Senate and in the House.

· "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:22)

8. Iranian Officer Seized in Iraq - BBC

U.S.-led forces in Iraq said they have arrested an Iranian officer -- a member of the elite Quds Force -- operating in a northern Kurdish city. "This individual has been involved in transporting improvised explosive devices," the BBC quoted the American military as saying.

· Offer praise to the Lord for this victory, and continue in prayer for the success of our military forces in Iraq and Afghanistan as they seek to identify and root out all hidden sites of evil in the land.

· "He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into the light." (Job 12:22)

9. Columbia University to Host Ahmadinejad - AP

Columbia University said it does not plan to call off a speech by Iran's president despite pressure from critics including the City Council speaker, who said the Ivy League school was providing a forum for "hate- mongering vitriol." The State Department calls Iran a state sponsor of terror, and Ahmadinejad has called the Holocaust "a myth" and urged for Israel to be destroyed.

· Offer intensive prayers for the protection of our country as this madman prepares to enter our gates in New York City. May his words fall on deaf ears.

· "How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked be jubilant? They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting. . . But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them." (Psalm 94:3,4,22,23)

PROTEST PLANNED AT U.N.
Iran President Ahmadenijad Scheduled to Speak to General Assembly on Monday

On Monday, September 24th, the face of evil in the modern world will be coming to America and entering our Metropolitan area on our Watch. On that day, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is scheduled to arrive in New York to address the United Nations General Assembly.

This man must not be permitted to enjoy the dignity that will accompany the visits of other world leaders. We must show Ahmadinejad that we do not forget his persistent denials of the Nazi Holocaust and his repeated threats to perpetrate a second Holocaust by wiping Israel off the map. We must show him that we do not forgive his energetic support of Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists. And we must demonstrate to him that we will not permit him to achieve his dream of developing nuclear weapons which he has threatened to use not only against Israel, but also against America.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad must be met with the loudest of protests by not only the Jewish community, but also by The Church - Christian leaders and lay people - from all over this greater metropolitan area and beyond. So next MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH, as Ahmadinejad speaks at the UN, there will be a MASSIVE PROTEST RALLY across the street. The rally will be AT DAG HAMMARSKJOLD PLAZA ON 47TH STREET BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND AVENUE IN MANHATTAN, RAIN OR SHINE.

It is urgent that as Christian leaders - given the responsibility before God for our people, our cities, our nation - that we mobilize our congregations and networks to take a stand against genocide and anti- Semitism by participating in this united protest. Get the word out NOW! Begin the essential prayer coverage - individually and corporately - as soon as you read this. Urge your people to TAKE OFF WORK for this! Encourage them to TAKE THEIR CHILDREN WITH THEM! Announce this NEED FOR A VISIBLE CHRISTIAN PRESENCE AND UNITED STATEMENT on September 24th to your church this Sunday, and make the practical arrangements to physically get them there as well. It is URGENT as Disciples of Christ - that we ACT as "salt and light" in this age -- that we visibly and vocally reflect the God that we worship in both spirit AND in deed.

WHERE:

Across from the United Nations at the Dag Hammarskjold Plaza on 47th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan. (Subways: 4, 5, 6, or 7 to Grand Central Station)

PICK UP FREE SIGNS TO IDENTIFY YOURSELVES AS CHRISTIANS UNITED FOR ISRAEL AT 2ND AVE. & 45TH STREET.

Iran's Other Proxy War Against the West

Tehran's Troublemaking in Afghanistan

America's leaders have focused much more intensely in recent weeks on Iran's deepening role in Iraq, where U.S. officials say the Islamic Republic is helping expand the scope and lethality of the insurgency against the U.S.-led coalition. In their testimonies before Congress last week, General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker both delineated Iran's malignant political and strategic role in the former Ba'athist state.

Increasingly, however, Iran is working its destabilizing magic on another front in the War on Terror as well. Quietly, and away from the public eye, Iran's ayatollahs are attempting to subvert the fragile, pro- Western government of President Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan.

Evidence of an Iranian hand in the former Taliban stronghold is mounting. Over the summer, the Iranian regime suddenly announced that it was expelling thousands of Afghan migrants - many of them former Taliban fighters - from its soil. The reason, observers say, was two-fold. "First, Iran wanted to weaken Sunni- led insurgents in its bordering areas," analyst Syed Saleem Shahzad wrote in the Asia Times in July. "[S] econd, it believed that the return of the refugees would fuel the Taliban-led insurgency in Afghanistan."

Then, on September 6, NATO forces in Afghanistan grabbed an Iranian arms shipment intended for Taliban fighters. The thwarted delivery, which included sophisticated explosives such as armor-piercing bombs, was part of what U.S. and European officials say is a growing stream of arms flowing from the Islamic Republic to the ousted Islamist movement.

Iranian officials formally denied the allegations, but Western policymakers say that the reasons for the increasing collusion between Shi'ite Iran and its former Sunni ideological adversary are practical. "They're playing with the enemy," one coalition official told the Washington Post. "They have no love lost for the Taliban. The Taliban killed several Iranian diplomats. We believe it's about hurting the Americans and the international community."

All of which begs the question: are the Americans, and the international community, prepared to do anything about it?

Senate Condemns Moveon.org

. . . after a week of foot-dragging and delay, the Senate finally went on the record today condemning the ad and expressing its support for our troops. While the vote was overwhelming, 72-to-25, it should have been unanimous. We will post the vote on our online Congressional Scorecard at http://www.cwfpac.com so you can see how your senators voted.

My friends, we are a nation at war and this vote ought to be a wake-up call for all Americans who want to win the struggle against Islamofascism. The anti-war movement, led by MoveOn.org, is infested with socialists who have made common cause with radical Islam. Yet, all 25 "No" votes on this resolution came from the Democrat Party. Half of the Democrat majority in the United States Senate could not bring itself to stand up to these radicals who viciously smeared a decorated hero who has served our country in three wars.

Let me tell you who just some of these 25 senators were:

-- Democrat Leader Harry Reid of Nevada
-- Democrat Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois
-- Senators Ted Kennedy and John Kerry of Massachusetts
-- Senator Carl Levin of Michigan, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee
-- Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, who is waging a "jihad" against conservative judges
-- Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, the largest recipient of contributions from MoveOn.org
-- Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Democrat frontrunner for commander- in-chief.

Friends, this is the leadership -- the most senior, visible and vocal members -- of today's Democrat Party!

What happened to the party of Harry Truman, who dropped "The Bomb" to end World War II? What happened to the party of John Kennedy, who told the world that America would "pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty"?

It is disgraceful that Democrat leaders have become such petty partisans, so beholden to radical special interest groups, that they cannot stand up for our heroes and soldiers. And if Hillary Clinton cannot stand up to the radicals at MoveOn.org, can we trust her to stand up to the radical Islamists? If she will not defend our heroes, how can we trust her to defend America?

IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT EVERY CHRISTIAN WHO COMES - EACH INDIVIDUAL - CARRIES A SIGN, AS A MESSAGE THAT THE JEWISH PEOPLE ARE NOT ALONE.

Islam Must Be Resisted In US As A Matter Of National Security

Islam is using First Amendment guarantees of freedom of religion to implement a strategic plan to eliminate and destroy the United States of America, according to an analysis of documents submitted by the government as evidence in the Dallas, Texas Holy Land Foundation terror trial. A strategic planning document for North America written by the Muslim Brotherhood in May 1991 indicates that Islam's plan is well under way to "settle" the United States by possessing "a mastery of the art of "coalitions," the art of "absorption" and the principles of "cooperation.""

The plan, already 16 years in implementation, identifies eight historical stages of development that the Muslim Brotherhood in America already had accomplished by the plan's introduction in 1991. They included the stages of 1) searching for self identity; 2) building the inner organization; 3) first phases of building mosques and Islamic centers; 4) first phases of building Islamic organizations; 5) first phases of building Islamic schools; 6) first phases of the overt Islamic movement; 7) first phases of openness to other Islamic movements; and 8) the second phase of reviving and establishing the Islamic organizations.

The plan calls for the establishment of Islamic Centers in every town in America which would serve as the "axis" of the Islamic movement and a "base" to "educate us, prepare us and supply our battalions in addition to being the "niche" to our prayers." The plan says, "This is in order for the Islamic Center to turn-in action not in words-into a seed for 'a small Islamic society' which is a reflection and a mirror to our central organizations. Thus the Islamic Center would turn into a place for study, family, battalion, course, seminar, visit, sport, school, social club, women gathering, kindergarten for male and female youngsters, the office of domestic political resolution, and the center for distributing our newspapers, magazines, books and our audio and visual tapes."

The "heart and the core" of the plan is then to unite all Muslim organizations in America to complete the "settlement process." Rather than being a peaceful religion protected by the Constitution, Islam is a Trojan Horse religion set on performing in its own words a "Civilization Jihad" to eliminate and destroy America. Resisting Islam in America should therefore not be constrained by religious freedom, but rather be unleashed as a duty of every American citizen in the name of national security. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Do not be deceived by the wicked who would twist the intent of law and Constitution to conquer a law abiding people and destroy a nation.

Storm Clouds on the Horizon

The headlines in recent days have certainly been eye- catching - especially if you follow events in the Middle East. After all, it's not everyday that the French talk openly about preparing for war with Iran. But, here's a sampling of headlines in case you missed them:

-- Israelis 'blew apart Syrian nuclear cache'
-- Dozens died in Syrian-Iranian Chemical Weapons Experiment
-- Israel Seals Off Gaza Strip, Declares It 'Enemy Entity'
-- Christian Politician Among 7 Killed in Beirut Blast
-- Iran: Missiles aimed at U.S., Israel sites

The first two stories are particularly disconcerting. Evidence of the alleged Israeli strike on Syria was first reported several weeks ago when news broke that the Syrians were claiming to have opened fire on Israeli jets that entered Syrian airspace on September 6th.

For the most part, the reaction from the "world community" was surprisingly muted. There was virtually no reaction from Israel or Washington. A few stories began to trickle out and, then over the weekend, a detailed article appeared in Britain's Sunday Times.

According to that report, the Israelis have been extensively monitoring a particular facility in Syria for some time. Several months ago, Israeli intelligence presented evidence to Prime Minister Olmert that Syria was attempting to buy nuclear material from North Korea. The alleged strike was ordered three days after a North Korean ship arrived carrying what was labeled as "cement."

Syria is known to possess North Korean-made Scud missiles and chemical weapons (more on that below). But the Israelis could not tolerate a nuclear weapon in Syrian hands. Moreover, some analysts have speculated that Syria may not have been the final destination, but merely a transfer point on the way to Iran.

Now, you should probably sit down for this. Proving the utter futility of relying upon the United Nations and the "world community" to safeguard our vital national interests, Syria has just been voted co- chairman of the International Atomic Energy Agency, or the IAEA. That's right - the same U.N. "watchdog" agency that is supposed to prevent rogue regimes from acquiring nuclear technology, which is being asking to "police" Iran's nuclear program, is now co-chaired by Iran's "partner in crime," Syria! Talk about the fox guarding the hen house.

The second headline appeared in the Jerusalem Post yesterday summarizing a report this week from Jane's Defence Weekly. According to Jane's, a joint Syrian- Iranian team was attempting to mount a chemical weapon to a Scud missile in July when something exploded, killing 15 Syrian officers and dozens of Iranian engineers.

Meanwhile, there are reports today that yet another anti-Syrian Christian politician in Lebanon has been assassinated in a car bombing that also killed six others and injured at least 20. This is the eighth assassination of an anti-Syrian politician in Lebanon since 2005.

Also happening today, Israel declared the Gaza Strip an "enemy entity" and imposed a blockade of sorts, cutting off power, fuel and most trade. The action was taken "in response to incessant Palestinian rocket fire from Gaza," which has been going on ever since the terrorist group Hamas seized control of the territory in a violent coup against the Palestinian Authority.

In my view, this proves the danger of creating yet another terrorist Islamic state carved out of Israel. Hamas' "experiment" in governance has been a disaster, and Israel has come under constant attack ever since it withdrew from Gaza.

The world is a very dangerous place, my friends, and evil men are feverishly seeking to bring more death and destruction to our shores. No amount of wishful thinking from Hollywood celebrities, ivory tower academics or radical peace activists is going to change that. But their mushy-headed, politically correct policies could well destroy us. And just like previous generations that made great sacrifices to secure our freedom, today's Americans must find the courage to confront this enemy and defeat it for the sake of our children and grandchildren.

This is why, in addition to demanding that the candidate we support for president be pro-life and pro- family, we must also demand that he understand the moral dimension to winning the war against Islamofascism, to defeating this vicious enemy of freedom. Our next president will have to confront this evil, and he will be required to make hard decisions. The Republican nominee had better be able and willing to make the case in a debate against Hillary Clinton that he is the candidate who can stand up to the radicals at MoveOn.org and keep America safe, free and prosperous.
