On Capitol Hill This Week Volume XVI, Number 36
November 30 - December 4, 2009

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" (Rev. 5:11,12)

1. SENATE POISED TO TAKE UP HEALTH CARE BILL NEXT WEEK

The Senate's Thanksgiving break will end with a bang Monday when debate is scheduled to begin on sweeping legislation to remake the U.S. health care system, a showdown likely to last for weeks. The debate on the Senate's version of the legislation will test the strength of a re-energized Republican insurgency and the loyalty of a fractured Democratic majority. . . Senators will take up the 2,074-page bill that is estimated to cost $848 billion over 10 years, offering amendments aimed at improving it. The Democrats' bill is intended to extend coverage over six years to an estimated 31 million Americans who lack insurance. The most contentious issues expected to be debated are abortion, illegal immigration and the so- called public option, a government-run insurance plan -- each of which threaten to stall the legislation.

Republicans are largely opposed to the bill and the Democratic majority is sharply divided on the issues. Bridging that divide will likely prove to be the toughest challenge for Democratic leaders. (Fox News)

- As Big Brother strives to get into our bank accounts, our doctor visits and decisions, dealing a death blow to our economy and life as we know it in the process, continue to beseech the Creator of all things for deeper revelation and prayer initiatives to stop this, the worst piece of legislation known to America. Ask for divine guidance for the American people to personally realize and address this stealth robbing of the future generations. Pray for the youth to awaken, for pride to melt away, and for all to rise up and begin to sound the alarm for their future, before it's too late. Intercede to our God, Who is still a consuming fire for us.

- "The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones; the sycamores are all cut down, but we will replace them with cedars." (Isaiah 9:10)

2. SENATE TO BEGIN HEARINGS ON BEN BERNANKE NOMINATION THIS WEEK

United States congressional confirmation hearings over the appointment of Ben Bernanke for another four-year term as chairman of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System - his current term ends on January 31 - are set for December 3. Now the Congress' must exercise its constitutional prerogatives and hold meaningful hearings before reaching a decision.

President Barack Obama nominated Bernanke for another term earlier this year, well ahead of schedule, ostensibly to "calm" the markets. In doing so, Obama broke his often-quoted campaign promise for "change" - in this case for a clear break from the George W Bush era's economic and financial policies. Bernanke was the chairman of the Counsel of Economic Advisors during the Bush administration and was a Bush appointee as the chairman of the Fed. He was also one of the main architects of the Bush administration's financial and economic policies. As a Fed governor, and later as Fed chairman, Bernanke engineered about the most expansionary episode of monetary policy in US history, rejecting calls for restraint when unprecedented speculation in housing and out of control financial speculation were underway.

His policies turned out to be devastating for the US economy and for the banking system, and they brought to a screeching halt two decades of prosperity, replacing them with a dramatic fall in real incomes, mass unemployment, millions of foreclosures, and continuing economic despair for millions of Americans.

Most ironic, Obama has lauded chairman Bernanke for his track-record: "As an expert on the causes of the Great Depression, I'm sure Ben never imagined that he would be part of a team responsible for preventing another. But because of his background, his temperament, his courage, and his creativity, that's exactly what he has helped to achieve. And that is why I am re-appointing him to another term as chairman of the Federal Reserve.

That Bernanke did not imagine in 2002-2007 he would be part of the team responsible for preventing another Great Depression should be of concern for Americans - having the most important financial institution headed by someone who cannot foresee the consequences of his policies! (Asia Times)

- Pray for Congress to debate honestly the re- appointment of Bernanke as head of the Federal Reserve Board. Ask the Lord to send in the person whom He chooses for this position, one that was secretly imposed on the American people several decades ago. Will the debate come up for views on Dec. 3rd, since the Congress is full of debate on the healthcare resolutions? Pray that no clandestine votes occur.

- "If a man delivers to his neighbor money or articles to keep, and it is stolen out of the man's house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double." ( Exodus 22:7)

3. H.R. 2294: THE "KEEP TERRORISTS OUT OF AMERICA ACT" - NEEDS SUPPORT

Opposes the Transfer of Terrorists to the United States

Congressman Forbes signed a discharge petition to force H.R. 2294, the Keep Terrorists Out of America Act, out of committee and onto the floor for a vote. If the required 218 signatures are collected, the House of Representatives would be forced to vote on stopping the transfer or release of detainees held at the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility into the United States.

- Thank the Lord that He will move upon the hearts of at least 218 members of Congress to sign this dischage petition, and then to pass this bill when it comes to the floor for a vote. Thank Him, too, that He will move upon the heart of our sitting "king" to do the right thing and to sign this act into LAW. Amen.

- "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes." (Prov 21:1)

4. TWO BILLS IN HOUSE WILL CONFRONT DOMESTIC TERRORISM

H.R. 1343: "First Responders Fighting Terrorism Protection Act of 2009"

H.R.1343 grants qualified immunity from civil liability for a first responder who: (1) takes reasonable action to prevent an act of terrorism; or (2) observes or receives a report of, and takes reasonable action to respond to, any suspicious transaction, activity, or occurrence that indicates that an individual may be engaging, or preparing to engage, in a violation of law relating to a terrorist act. Makes a first responder not entitled to assert the defense of qualified immunity nevertheless immune from civil liability under federal, state, and local law if such responder acted in good faith and on objectively reasonable suspicion. Entitles a first responder found to be immune from liability under this Act to recover from the plaintiff all reasonable costs and attorney fees.

S 449: "Free Speech Protection Act of 2009"

S. 449 allows any U.S. person against whom a lawsuit for defamation is brought in a foreign country for defamation on the basis of the content of any speech by that person that has been published, uttered, or otherwise disseminated in the United States to bring an action in a U.S. district court against any person who, or entity which, brought the suit, if: (1) the speech at issue in the foreign lawsuit does not constitute defamation under U.S. law; and (2) the person or entity which brought the foreign lawsuit serves or causes to be served any documents in connection with such foreign lawsuit on a U.S. person. Allows the award of treble damages if it is determined by a preponderance of the evidence that the person or entity bringing the foreign lawsuit intentionally engaged in a scheme to suppress rights under the First Amendment to the Constitution by discouraging publishers or other media from publishing, or by discouraging financial supporters from employing, retaining, or supporting the research, writing, or other speech of an individual.

- As above, ask our Lord to move on the hearts of the members of Congress to help secure our nation from domestic terrorism by passing both bills. The first bill (H.R. 1343) is sponsored by Rep. Susan Myrick, and the second one (S. 449) is sponsored by Sen. Arlen Specter. Pray they be granted strength and wisdom as they fight on the floor of the House to see these measures passed. Amen.

- "I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies." (2 Samuel 22:4)

5. GLOBAL-WARMING LEGISLATION - FIGHT ISN'T OVER

Although a vote on "climate change" legislation is being pushed into 2010, a leading think tank is warning people to be alert. Prospects are looking dim for cap- and-trade legislation in 2009. In conjunction, America's failure to pass the legislation is having a negative effect on the upcoming Copenhagen climate treaty talks. But Ben Lieberman of The Heritage Foundation warns concerned citizens that the fight is not over.

"Those of us who are concerned about the global- warming legislation as it currently stands need to constantly be vigilant," he urges. "But it does look like things are being pushed into 2010. Reality is just sort of intruding on this parade -- the economic reality [is] that this is going to be very burdensome in the midst of recession [and] the scientific reality furthered by evidence of e-mails coming out, showing that the science behind this may actually be fraudulent. So it may be all cost for no real benefit in terms of actually reducing a real problem, so the wheels are really coming off the cart on this issue."

The e-mails Lieberman is referring to were allegedly leaked from the U.K.-based Hadley Center that is responsible for ground temperature readings from which NASA's satellites are calibrated. He says the e-mails prove that the temperature data was forged in order to show the results they wanted. Criminal charges are being pursued in the matter. (OneNewsNow)

- Praise the Lord for exposing the truth about this global- warming issue. But we must always be vigilant to the fact the true-believers in this deception do not push through Congressional resolutions with votes that are secretly held. The Lord controls the weather, and we offer praise for His beneficence. Ask the Lord to mire down in details those who would push their faulty thinking on Americans.

- " . . . and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock." (Matthew 7:25)

1. OBAMA ISSUES SPECIAL HAJJ MESSAGE TO WORLD'S MOSLEMS

Michelle and I would like to send our best wishes to all those performing Hajj this year, and to Muslims in America and around the world who are celebrating Eid- ul-Adha. The rituals of Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha both serve as reminders of the shared Abrahamic roots of three of the world's major religions.

During Hajj, the world's largest and most diverse gathering, three million Muslims from all walks of life - including thousands of American Muslims - will stand in prayer on Mount Arafat. The following day, Muslims around the world will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha and distribute food to the less fortunate to commemorate Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son out of obedience to God.

This year, I am pleased that the Department of Health and Human Services has partnered with the Saudi Health Ministry to prevent and limit the spread of H1N1 during Hajj. Cooperating on combating H1N1 is one of the ways we are implementing my administration's commitment to partnership in areas of mutual interest.

On behalf of the American people, we would like to extend our greetings during this Hajj season - Eid Mubarak. (Breitbart) Read more

- This report pretty much speaks for itself. Let's continue in prayer for this president. Our nation is not a Moslem nation, but one founded upon Judeo-Christian principles. May our Lord lift the spirit of confusion off the mind of Barack Hussein Obama, setting him free to worship Him in spirit, and in truth. Amen.

- While Moslems worldwide make this annual pilgrimage to the black rock -- the Ka'bah -- at Mecca, fulfilling one of the five pillars of Islam, pray that this Word will be quickened in their souls:

"You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth. . . For their rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede." (Deuteronomy 32:18,31)

2. OBAMA TO ADDRESS NATION ON AFGHANISTAN

(Tuesday speech expected to outline "escalation and exit." The White House and Pentagon estimate a cost of up to $1 million per soldier per year for deployment in Afghanistan.)

President Barack Obama vowed yesterday to "finish the job" of an unpopular and costly eight-year war in Afghanistan, and officials said he could announce an increase of around 30,000 troops. A 40-minute prime- time address to the nation has been tentatively scheduled for Tuesday evening.

The speech will end weeks of speculation about his plans for the way forward in Afghanistan, after a three- month strategic review and eight meetings with his White House War Council. He has been accused of demonstrating weakness and dithering. Americans are divided and deeply worried about rising levels of government spending, debt and federal control of institutions. [Reported by: Intercessors for America]

- Ask the Lord to send His angels to keep our troops safe by supernatural means while deployed overseas, until we can either add to their numbers or bring them home. When man's plans fail, God is always there.

- "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5)

3. OBAMA INTEL PICK ACCUSED JEWS OF ASSASSINATION

Lauded Iranian nuclear program as 'deterrent' against Israel, Bush

The Obama administration's withdrawn nominee for a top intelligence post delivered a speech to a pro-Arab U.S. group in which he claimed that Israel has long assassinated peace-loving Palestinian leaders. He also falsely accused the Jewish state - which doesn't publicly comment on its alleged nuclear weapons program - of threatening to nuke Iran. Charles "Chas" Freeman, the U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War, used the speech to suggest that America was attacked on 9/11 largely due to its support for Israel. He further stated that if the White House attempts to pressure Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's "American lobby" will arrange for Congress to punish President Obama.

Freeman was slated to head the National Intelligence Council but withdrew his nomination in March . . . On Oct. 16, Freeman delivered a speech to the 18th Annual Arab-U.S.Policymakers Conference run by the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations, which defines itself as a nongovernmental organization dedicated to "improving American knowledge and understanding of the Arab world." During this speech, Freeman referred to the government here as "Israeli occupation authorities" and claimed an "Israeli cabinet-directed assassination campaign has long focused on ensuring that there is no one to talk to on the Palestinian side." He slammed the State Department's labeling of Hamas as a terrorist organization. The radical Palestinian group's charter calls for the murder of Jews and destruction of Israel. Hamas is responsible for scores of suicide bombings, shootings and rocket attacks against Jewish civilian population centers.

Freeman claimed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict began as a problem between "Jewish colonists and indigenous Arabs" even though Jews had historically lived in the territory that became modern-day Israel for thousands of years, while many Palestinian Arabs arrived originally as migrant workers when the Jewish population started to increase in 1881. He then claimed the current Netanyahu government of Israel "rejects trading land for peace" even though the Israeli leader has multiple times called for the renewal of negotiations with the Palestinians. (WorldNetDaily) Read more.

- Seemingly, the only "free" aspect about Chas is his last name! Pray that any influence that he might yet have on the president would be of no effect. Pray that Charles Freeman has a dramatic encounter with Jesus Christ, so that the Holy Spirit can cleanse his mind of all the lies he is proclaiming to whoever will listen. Pray for Jesus to free this man from the anti-Semitism that clouds his mind. The shackles of deception bind him.

- "His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, And he is caught in the cords of his sin." (Proverbs 5:22) "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst." (I Timothy 1:15)

4. ANITA DUNN'S HUSBAND BECOMES WHITE HOUSE COUNSEL

By now, millions of Americans are familiar with Anita Dunn, who recently resigned her post as Barack Obama's White House Communications Director after it was learned that she had previously cited Mao Zedong, the late Communist dictator and mass murderer, as one of her "favorite political philosophers."

By contrast, few people know anything substantive about Dunn's husband, Robert Bauer, who has replaced Gregory Craig as President Obama's White House Counsel. Craig resigned abruptly on November 13. In 2009 Obama hired Bauer as legal counsel to represent him in a criminal probe investigating whether former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich may have sought - with Obama's (or Rahm Emanuel's) knowledge - to sell to the highest bidder the U.S. Senate seat Obama had vacated when he assumed the presidency.

What does all this have to do with Robert Bauer's current, and sudden, ascendancy to the position of White House Counsel?

According to The American Spectator, "[Bauer] knows where all the bodies are buried, and this indicates that there is something amiss with this White House. You don't just make these kinds of changes [Bauer's appointment as Gregory Craig's replacement] with at least three legislative and policy decisions looming that the Counsel's office would have been deeply involved in." A Washington attorney (who has served as counsel in the Senate and in previous presidential administrations) characterizes Bauer's sudden appointment as "pretty ___ weird" and stated, "For the first time ever, we have a President's personal attorney also serving as White House counsel. I don't care if Bob [Bauer] recuses himself from future personal legal business, this should be troubling to anyone who cares about the Executive Office of the President." (Front Page Magazine)

- Robert Bauer is not the man to be chosen as White House counsel, as his record of activities and positions prove. Pray for honesty in the White House, as the Lord does a vigorous housecleaning. Do not be overwhelmed by all the negatives swirling around Obama, for we have the authority in Jesus Christ over all the deceiving spirits. Call on the Lord to set both Anita Dunn and her husband free from arrogance and ambitions that have led them to deception.

". . .and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved." ( 2 Thessalonians 2:10)

5. OBAMA SHATTERS SPENDING RECORD FOR FIRST-YEAR PRESIDENTS

President Obama has shattered the budget record for first-year presidents -- spending nearly double what his predecessor did when he came into office and far exceeding the first-year tabs for any other U.S. president in history.

In fiscal 2009 the federal government spent $3.52 trillion which sets a benchmark for comparison. That fiscal year covered the last three-and-a-half months of George W. Bush's term and the first eight-and-a-half months of Obama's. That price tag came with a $1.4 trillion deficit, nearly $1 trillion more than last year. The overall budget was about a half-trillion more than Bush's for 2008, his final full fiscal year in office. (Fox News)

- As with a teenager donning a new credit card, please intercede for the eye opening "wake up call" that so desperately needs to come to the White House. As "Wisdom calls aloud outside" through the American people, saying in every way possible, "Stop spending our children's portion!", ask that fiscal soundness would return to our country, starting in Washington. Please pray for the "fear of the Lord" to show up in the midst of our leaders concerning this issue of spending, bringing the beginning of wisdom. Intercede for the awe of the greatness of God to curtail and rope in this careless behavior.

- "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." (Proverbs 1:7)

6. STIMULUS FIGURES DON'T ADD UP

Last week, ABC News broke the story that the stimulus spending didn't add up, pointing to a serious breakdown in calculations by the Recovery Board. For starters, the website that monitors the stimulus dollars, www.recovery.gov, was bragging about job creation in places like Arizona's 15th Congressional District. The only problem is the 15th District doesn't exist! Nor does Puerto Rico's 99th District, which is said to have received $47 million, and countless others. Apparently, the Recovery Board created to track the stimulus needs help keeping itself on track.

Hundreds of millions of dollars are either missing or misidentified. In dozens of fake districts, the website claims millions of dollars were spent to create a handful of jobs. Take Oklahoma, for instance. Recovery.gov says it took the Sooners $19 million to create 15 jobs! Still, Ed Pound, a spokesman for the Recovery Board, announced yesterday that the agency has no intention of correcting its math. "Unless we find significant errors causing public confusion, we are not planning further corrections," said Pound. "Significant errors" like inflating the number of jobs created by 20,000? "Humans make mistakes," Pound told reporters. They sure do--like agreeing to bills like this one. (FRC)

- Unbeknownst to this administration is the truth that their judgment precedes them as they ascribe power to their gods of mammon. Please pray as the remnant of God does their best to intercede, that God will find a few good men, which is all He's ever needed, to stand up for what's right and stop the madness.

Therefore the law is powerless,
And justice never goes forth.
For the wicked surround the righteous;
Therefore perverse judgment proceeds.
"Look among the nations and watch-
Be utterly astounded!
For I will work a work in your days
Which you would not believe, though it were told you.
(Habakkuk 1:4-5)

7. REGULATORY CZAR: "FALSE RUMORS" TO BE REMOVED FROM INTERNET

Websites should be obliged to remove "false rumors" while libel laws should be altered to make it easier to sue for spreading such "rumors," argued Cass Sunstein, Obama's regulatory czar. In his recently released book, "On Rumors," Sunstein specifically cited as a primary example of "absurd" and "hateful" remarks, reports by "right-wing websites" alleging an association between President Obama and Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers. He also singled out radio talker Sean Hannity for "attacking" Obama regarding the president's "alleged associations."

Sunstein presents multiple new measures he argues can be used to stop the spread of "rumors." and contends "freedom usually works, but in some contexts, it is an incomplete corrective." Therefore he would impose strong "corrective" measures to deter future rumormongers. For websites, Sunstein suggests a "right to notice and take down" in which "those who run websites would be obliged to take down falsehoods upon notice." Sunstein also argues for the "right to demand a retraction after a clear demonstration that a statement is both false and damaging." But he does not explain which agency would determine whether any statement is false and damaging.

. The Obama czar argues his regulation proposals for broadcasting are actually presented within the spirit of the Constitution.
Sunstein slams the U.S. courts' unwillingness to "require something like a Fairness Doctrine" to be a result of "the judiciary's lack of democratic pedigree, lack of fact-finding powers and limited remedial authority." He clarifies he is not arguing the government should be free to regulate broadcasting however it chooses. "Regulation designed to eliminate a particular viewpoint would, of course, be out of bounds. All viewpoint discrimination would be banned," (WorldNetDaily) Read more.

What world does Sunstein live in, one that cannot understand the Constitution? His views are dangerous, for no matter what he espouses he has no suggestions for improvement. Pray that the Lord will open his blinded eyes so that his "hateful" and "absurd" ideas will wither and pass away without any influence on the president. Sunstein seems to condemn all who do not hold his views. Again, this man needs an encounter with Jesus Christ.

- "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)

1. ANOTHER LOOK AT THE COPENHAGEN TREATY

December 6-18th, the nations of the world will meet in Copenhagen for a so-called "climate change" summit. Nations will sign a treaty, which in the US must be ratified by the Senate, to save the world against global warming, now expanded to climate change, which would take into account both global warming and global cooling. This treaty will establish a global organization called the Conference of Parties, or COP, that has loosely defined taxing and policy authority over all the nations that belong to the COP. The concept of the COP is to tax the rich nations to pay for the poor nation's inability to be good stewards of their environment. This treaty will take from the wealthier nations and give to the poor nations.

Page 8, Section 10 of the treaty states that "an economic transition is needed" to adjust "global economic growth patterns" towards a sustainable low- emission economy based on development of innovative technologies, more sustainable production and consumption, "promoting sustainable lifestyles" and climate-resilient sustainable development "while ensuring a just transition of the workforce." It says, "The active participation of all stakeholders in this transition should be sought, be they governmental, including subnational and local government, private business or civil society, including the youth and addressing the need for gender equity."

Page 9, Section 13 says, "In this context, developed country Parties should demonstrate that they are taking the lead in modifying the long-term trends in emissions reduction consistent with the objective of the Convention and in accordance with its provisions and principles. In doing so, Annex I Parties pledge to meet their targets fully, effectively and in a measurable, reportable and verifiable manner." The United States is considered an Annex I country. And this 179 page treaty commits America to a global socialist redistribution of wealth, ensuring "just transition in the workforce," and active participation on the part of "the youth and addressing the need for gender equity."

This treaty is expected to be signed by the man who occupies the Oval Office. It commits the United States, its states and local governments, its private businesses and its youth to an unconstitutional worldwide socialist governance under the guise of saving the world from the climate. This unprecedented abrogation of US sovereignty could ultimately do away with your Constitutional rights to free speech and freedom of religion. Revelation 13:7 speaks of the antiChrist in a world government, saying, "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations." The prophecy clock will tick forward when this treaty is signed. (Bill Wilson, The Daily Jot)

-- Pray that God would intervene; stopping Israel and the United States from signing this treaty.

-- Pray that intercessors would arise world-wide, to stop this agenda from succeeding unless it is God's perfect timing to bring forth the global rule and its global leader.

-- Pray that believers would not be silent about this, and that they would become informed to inform others.

-- Pray that Israel and the United States will never hand her sovereignty over to a global entity. She already has the ultimate authority reigning over her.

-- Pray that we all will be prepared by the Lord to meet all the challenges that will come when this treaty comes into power.

-- The time of severe persecution may be at hand, but we must pray for revival ahead of that eventuality.

2. UN SIGNALS DELAY IN CLIMATE CHANGE TREATY

The United Nations is apparently lowering its expectations about reaching a climate change agreement during an international conference in December. The director of the secretary-general's Climate Change Support Team cites the lack of U.S. climate legislation, lack of carbon reduction targets from industrialized nations and lack of funding for developing nations. Janos Pasztor says that all makes it hard to say "how far the conference will be able to go." Pasztor indicated that Copenhagen most likely won't produce a treaty, but instead will push governments as far as they can go on the content of an agreement. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has made a new climate treaty his top priority to replace the expiring Kyoto Protocol, which only requires 37 industrialized nations to cut emissions. (OneNewsNow) Read more

- This sure would be great news, if it were true. Often, when we are told there is "no danger," the opposite is true. Continue to "pray down" this climate treaty, leading to the loss of national sovereignty and the introduction of a global governmental system. God created the boundaries of the nations, and His will cannot be overruled.

- "And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings." (Acts 17:26)

3. OBAMA HEADING TO COPENHAGEN

c. New EU President: "2009 a Year of Global Governance"

We are living through exceptionally difficult times: the financial crisis and its dramatic impact on employment and budgets, the climate crisis which threatens our very survival. A period of anxiety, uncertainty and lack of confidence. Yet these problems can be overcome by common efforts in and between our countries. 2009 is also the first year of global governance, with the establishment of the G20 in the middle of the financial crisis. The climate conference in Copenhagen is another step towards the global management of our planet. Our mission is one of hope, supported by acts and action. (EU@UN) Read more.

- Father, who would have thought in reading the Bible, that a one-world government would rise from something as innocent sounding as "climate change." So Father we stand firmly against the deceptions within the Copenhagen Treaty, and pray that You will bring this plan to nothing.

- "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses." (Nehemiah 4:14b)

4. REPORT: NETANYAHU TO OK TEN-MONTH BUILDING FREEZE

According to a report on Israeli television [Channel 1], Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will offer a 10- month freeze on construction in areas built on land acquired in the 1967 war [the West Bank, also known as Judea and Samaria]. Jerusalem neighborhoods will be excluded from the freeze. If the reports are true, the temporary halt in building is Netanyahu's attempt to assuage intense international pressure and ease tension between himself and U.S. President Barack Obama.

The Palestinians are demanding that [East] Jerusalem be treated the same as other post-1967 areas, but successive Israeli governments have been firm on distinguishing the Israeli capital from other areas.

Netanyahu is known to have pitched his proposed temporary freeze to the White House in an attempt to get negotiations with the Palestinians back on track. But Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud 'Abbas [Abu Mazen] has been adamant that talks will not resume until Israel puts a complete halt to construction in post- 1967 areas [including East Jerusalem]. (By The Media Line, November 24, 2009) [Reported by: Bridges for Peace]

- Pray that God will lead and direct Prime Minister Netanyahu as he deals with pressures on every side.

- "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye." (Psalm 32:8)

5. INTERCESSORS FOR ISRAEL: FACING IRAN

Political commentators think that Netanyahu has made this move of stopping settlement construction for the purpose of persuading the nations to make a move on Iran. The Iranians have said no to moving their enriched Uranium to another country and now the P-5+1 nations have to make a decision. Will they go for enforceable "crippling" sanctions, agree to military action or do little or nothing? Sanctions are efficient if they are crippling ones. If the sanctions are loose in anyway, they will not be efficient. The only way to deal with this in my opinion is a military solution.

Israel is under threat of extinction. The Iranians will use the bomb against us if they can. They have said it over and over again. This is evil and we have to resist it. The Lord did not tell us not to use the sword; He said that you should not live by the sword. We are not looking for the death of the innocent or the wicked, but we are facing an existential threat.

- Pray in agreement with Intercessors for Israel:

Pray for:

The strengthening of the Israeli government so that they do not yield to the pressure of the nations, especially for Netanyahu.

That the government will stand strong on the word of God.

"Abba You are the creator, You rule over all the earth. You can bring an earthquake, or a natural disaster. We ask that the right hand of the Almighty come and destroy our enemies. We ask that You will show the nations that the evil that Iran is trying to do is a threat not only to Israel, but to the whole of the Middle East, even the world. Help our leaders to prepare for what needs to be done.

Give us wisdom and knowledge regarding the areas in which we need to strike, in case we need to go to war, where the nukes are, where the long distance rockets are. May the military leaders in the USA realize that the Iranians would be able to use small bombs as an electro magnetic pulse weapon that would put the USA back into the 1800's. Make the USA aware of this threat and bring them to act in their own behalf, we ask You in the Name of Yeshua."
[Meditate upon Psalm 83.]

6. COURT CASE IN BEERSHEBA

A messianic congregation in Beersheba is fighting a court case against the Chief Rabbi of that city and the leader of Yad Lachim and anti messianic organization. The reason being is that the Rabbi incited a violent protest of a group of Orthodox Jews against this messianic congregation. The Pastor of that congregation decided to take a stand on behalf of all the messianic congregations in the Land, to ask for a judgment against such behavior. This is the first time in the history of Israel that something like that has happened.

Pray that:

- That God will isolate the judge from bending under pressure from the Orthodox community. That he will not be manipulated in anyway.

- That the Almighty will give him a courageous heart to stand against this type of discrimination on the part of the Orthodox community.

- That Justice will prevail.

"Father, we ask You in the name of Yeshua that You protect the Messianic Believers in this Land, that a righteous judgment will come about through this ruling to further protect Your people. Father, do not allow the judge to be manipulated by the religious communities." [Intercessors for Israel]

7. GO HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT COPENHAGEN TREATY

Canada's Lord Monckton was the first to sound the alarm this fall about the dangerous agenda of the Copenhagen Treaty. To view this video, go here.

- Pray for the protection of Lord Monckton. May our Lord raise up other "watchmen on the wall" who can and will sound the alarm to the nations. A time will come, according to Scripture, when the whole world will be under the control of the Antichrist. May our Lord grant us all grace that that time is not yet . . .

- "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven . . ." (Matthew 6:10)

This Week, Worship Our Lord As . . .

GOD OF LOVE AND PEACE

"Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you." (2 Corinthians 13:11)

Love and peace -- two wonderful attributes of You, Lord. Thank You! Thank You that Your love is not dependant upon my right deeds or my right living, but it is based on You and Your love for me. How I praise Your name, God of Love and Peace. Amen.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! - Thursday, November 26, 2009

"Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name." (Hebrews 13:15) "

Introduction

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today, as we gather together with family and friends to celebrate and to honor this uniquely American holiday, Capitol Hill Prayer Partners wants to share three messsages of hope and encouragement for this hour.

The first one, entitiled "Now Thank We All Our God," was issued yesterday by Family Research Council. Thank you, FRC!

The second one, entitled "The Faith of our Forefathers," is a word from the Lord released by one of our prayer partners who lives in the State of Georgia. Milissa (last name withheld upon request) grew up in a country in Eastern Europe under a communist regime. Her love and passion for the freedom we all enjoy is tangible -- may we, too, experience the "fire of her love" for America!
The third message is from "the American Minute" for today: November 26 -- the date that President George Washington issued The First National Thanksgiving Proclamation.

May you each be enriched, blessed and strengthened as you meditate upon the following messages.

In His Amazing Grace,
Sara Ballenger, Founder and President
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Now Thank We All Our God

Thursday, November 26, 2009

George Washington was first and foremost, a farmer. Anyone visiting his estate at Mount Vernon, fifteen miles from the city named for him, will be struck by how deeply he loved farming. The implements carved in plaster on the ceiling of his impressive dining room are not those that brought him fame in war. They are, instead, the tools of peace and agriculture.

So, when he was elected our first President, one of the sacrifices he willingly made was to live in New York City, far from his farms. When he issued the nation's first Thanksgiving Proclamation in 1789, he praised God not only for victory in our War of Independence, and for the peaceful means by which our government had been established, but also for the bounteous harvests of our fields. He thanked God for "the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed."

As a farmer, Washington knew how dependent we are on His favor for our daily bread. The rains that quench the parched soil, the sun that casts its benevolent rays upon striving crops, the waters that provide a rich catch of fish--all these were familiar to the Father of Our Country; all these are gifts from our Heavenly Father. In the last year, we have often been told, Americans have suffered a severe economic setback. Millions have found their plans for the future swept away. Millions more have lost their jobs and some even their hope. As a nation we share in these challenges together and we pray especially for these during this day of Thanksgiving. But we are mindful of what the Apostle James says about these trials, we to count it all joy as it strengthens us in our faith which makes us a more virtuous people.

President Washington knew that virtue and industry were indispensable to the success of the new nation. And he knew that religion and morality were necessary supports to the survival of our country. We affirm the wisdom of our Founders whenever we uphold the traditions of our people. We recall that the first Pilgrims came to these shores not for religious freedom alone-- they enjoyed that in Holland--but for the right to raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. We cherish that right and defend it to this day. That first Thanksgiving Proclamation thanked "the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be" for establishing among us not only civil but also religious liberty.

On this day of Thanksgiving, we remember that man does not live by bread alone. Certainly, the best of our country's leaders understood this. That is doubtless why, when Washington took the first Oath as President, in the presence of God and a cloud of witnesses, he kissed the Bible. Of all things for which we give thanks this day, we are most grateful for the Lord God and His Word.
(Tony Perkins, Family Research Council)

The Faith of Our Forefathers

This Thanksgiving, America, give thanks like never before to the Lord thy God for this precious land. America, you have been for a long time, under a covering from on high. Thy God has blessed thee abundantly with blessings untold. You have to honor thy God for the faith of your forefathers, with thanksgiving. They fought the battle as soldiers and as warriors of the cross to establish this beautiful land upon godly principles and foundations. With God-given liberty, freedom, and righteousness only through unshakeable faith have we achieved godly wisdom and knowledge. Our forefathers and fathers have been great patriots with courage on the front line to fight the enemy. Through their heroic faith and confrontations in every conflict they always prevailed.

This Thanksgiving, Christian America has to be strong and full of faith to reclaim our country back. We have to rise up again from the peak of the highest mountain and from the lowest valley. Let the people of the land believe again in the name of the Lord who shed His precious blood for all of us. That holy blood never loses its power. America, rise up with a voice to be reckoned and heard. We plead before our Lord this Thanksgiving to rise up our government, our congressmen, and senators to be the voice of the people and for the people, full of godly wisdom and knowledge, and for them to return to the faith of our forefathers.

America, is there any righteous men among you, men of valor to lead this land, to rise up godly standards and bring the nation into one accord? We have to defend our heritage and America you cannot lose your freedom. You cannot anymore ignore the Lord your God. His love hovers over you and your people are raising their voices. We need the faith of our forefathers to lead us again in victory through these national and international crises.

We as Christian America stand in one accord with the nation of Israel, the beloved holy land of our Savior. We pray that thy kingdom will come on earth Lord, as it is in heaven, with deepest thanksgiving in our hearts.

GOD BE MERCIFUL UNTO US AND BLESS US, AND CAUSE THY FACE TO SHINE UPON US AGAIN. (PSALM 67:1)

His servant,
Milissa

The First National Thanksgiving Proclamation

The American Minute:

November 26, 1789

In order to thank God for the First Amendment, which was passed a week earlier by Congress, President George Washington issued the first National Thanksgiving Proclamation, 1789:

"Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me 'to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness;'"
Washington continued:

"Now, therefore, I do recommend . . . Thursday, the 26TH DAY of NOVEMBER . . . to be devoted by the People of these United States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be;" Washington concluded: "That we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks . . . for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government . . . particularly the national one now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed . . . to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue."

Today's Daily Brief

1. Obama says 'step closer' to climate deal - Breitbart

US President Barack Obama said Tuesday the world has moved "one step closer" to a "strong operational agreement" on climate change at next month's Copenhagen summit after his talks with Indian and Chinese leaders.

b. Obama to Lay Out U.S. Climate Goals at Copenhagen - FOXNews.com

The president is expected to travel to the United Nations summit in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Dec. 9 before heading to Oslo, Norway, to accept his Nobel Peace Prize.

c. New EU President: 2009 a Year of Global Governance - EU@UN

Read more.

__Father, who would have thought in reading the Bible, that a one-world government would rise from something as innocent sounding as "climate change." So Father we stand firmly against the deceptions within the Copenhagen Treaty, and pray that You will bring this plan to nothing.

- "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses." (Nehemiah 4:14b)

2. Democrats push $150B stock tax on Wall Street - The Hill

A House bill still being drafted aims to raise $150 billion each year to pay for new jobs.

___Lord we are at a loss to understand why the Democrats feel that more taxes will help an economy in decline. We ask that wise leaders will stand up and stop this tax. We pray for fiscal responsibility, not oppression and reckless spending.

- "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?" (Isaiah 58:6)

3. White House Weighs New Panel to Tackle Deficit - Wall Street Journal

The White House is considering a bipartisan commission to tackle the nation's swelling deficit, as it seeks to show resolve on a problem that threatens its broader agenda.

__Lord as we watch with dismay the increased spending of our leadership, we pray that You will shift their underlying priorities. We ask that You bring righteousness and wisdom into the plans of men, and take control of this situation.

- "For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it." (Ecclesiastes 7:12)

4. US Economy Growing Slower Than First Thought - VOA

Commerce Department experts say US economy expanded at an annual pace of 2.8 percent in last quarter, which is seven-tenths of a percent less than an earlier estimate.

___Father we pray for the Business community, both small and large, the farmers, workers and owners. We ask that You begin to give them strategies for survival and growth that will stand in complete defiance of a slowing economy and poor economic conditions. You have given such strategies to many throughout history, so we pray for Your wisdom for them now!

- "I will lift up my eyes to the hills - from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord Who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1)

5. World powers readying Iran resolution - Jerusalem Post

Russia and China have joined four Western powers in readying a resolution critical of Iran's nuclear program, diplomats said Tuesday, as Teheran pushed forward its own alternatives to a UN-backed plan aimed at preventing it from developing nuclear weapons.

- An enemy is an enemy is an enemy. Pray for the six nations now trying to put together this resolution, that they not be deceived regarding the true danger and actual intent of Ahmedinejad. Every day that "negotiations" are stalled is another day allowing Iran to finalize its nuclear weapons program.

- "Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while the righteous escape safely." (Psalm 141:10)

6. With all eyes on Iran, who's watching Pakistan's nuclear arsenal? - Ha'aretz

Fear of the Iranian nuclear weapons development program has overshadowed the fact that not far from Tehran, actually right nearby, two countries, India and Pakistan, already possess nuclear weapons. Not just warheads stored in warehouses, but weapons that have already been tested and were even used to back up the two countries' reciprocal threats against each other.

- This is a point so well taken!! As watchmen on the wall, let us also consider and remember the nuclear arsenals that are stored within both India and Pakistan, too. May these weapons NEVER be used, and only the "weapons" of our warfare be employed instead, leading to the salvation of many. As you pray, please remember to ask for the protection and favor of believers on the land. Amen.

- "It is not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit, saith the Lord." (Zechariah 4:6)

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." (Deuteronomy 30:19)

1. Abbas: Obama doing nothing for peace - Jerusalem Post

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday accused US President Barack Obama of doing "nothing" to achieve peace in the Middle East. Speaking to Argentinian newspaper Clarin, Abbas said he hoped that Obama would "take a more important role in the future."

2. Israel to Announce Moratorium on West Bank Settlement Activity Wednesday

The Israeli government will shortly announce a ten-month moratorium on settlement activity in the West Bank, a well placed source tells Fox News. The Obama administration, which has repeatedly expressed frustration with the Netanyahu government's failure to halt settlement activity, will welcome the move as significant, one that goes further than any previous Israeli government (Labor, Kadima or Likud) in this regard.

3. Hamas leaders in Syria for '24 critical hours' - Ynet News

The next 24 hours will be critical in terms of the prisoner exchange deal with Israel, senior Hamas sources told Arab media on Wednesday morning. The organization's leaders, who left Cairo on Tuesday evening, are meeting in the offices of Hamas' political bureau in Damascus to decide whether to accept Jerusalem's latest offer.

4. Israel still wants own systems in F35 - Jerusalem Post

Israel will continue to demand that its own electronic- warfare systems be integrated into the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) fifth-generation stealth fighter jet, senior defense officials said Tuesday, amid US news reports that the Pentagon would not allow the installation of an Israeli EW system in the plane.

5. Netanyahu: No conclusion, decision, or deal on Schalit yet - Jerusalem Post

Lowering expectations of an imminent release of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that no deal had been made, and that he did not know when such an agreement might be reached.

The Daily Jot

The Negligence of the Church in the Healthcare Debate

With all the drivel about government run healthcare that the socialists in the Congress and the White House are conjuring up, it might be wise to take a deep breath and have understanding of the Lord's plan for health care. There was no government run healthcare in the days of Jesus. The Roman Empire, in fact, was brutal. One of the articles of the Roman Constitution called for babies to be killed if they were thought to be deformed in any way. But God's word, both in the Old Testament and the New Testament, gave us instruction on healthcare and how it is to be handled. It was not to be done through the government of men, but through God's government.

Isaiah 53:5 prophesies of the coming Christ, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." And there are countless examples of Jesus and the disciples healing the sick. And Jesus spoke of caring for others in Matthew 25 where he told the parable about the King who said when he was sick he was tended to. The people asked when they did this. And Jesus replied, "Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." He gave us a new commandment, in John 13:34, "That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another."

This love must extend through the church. The church, not the government, is responsible for its people. We will soon celebrate Thanksgiving which dates back to the Pilgrims in Plymouth. Prior to the harvest feast, there was a great trial of sickness. William Bradford writes in "Of Plymouth Plantation", " . . . sometimes two or three persons died in a day. In the time of worst distress, there were but six or seven sound persons, who, to their great commendation be it spoken, spared no pains night or day, but with great toil and at the risk of their own health, fetched wood, made fires, prepared food for the sick, made their beds, washed their infected clothes, dressed and undressed them .

"In a word," Bradford continued, "[they] did all the homely and necessary services for them which dainty and queasy stomachs cannot endure to hear mentioned; and all this they did willingly and cheerfully, without the least grudging, showing their love to the friends and brethren." This is an example of the church doing what it is supposed to do. My church, when my wife was deathly ill, did the same. And we had no health insurance, except God and His people. At the worst, she received care from the hospital, which through God's immutable grace, forgave the hefty bill. But her actual life deteriorated in the hospital. It was regenerated at the hands of God's people. And the government is far from God.

Global Warming Hoax

Leftwing Lies

In past reports, I've expressed skepticism about the so- called global warming consensus. Not only did the science seem suspect, often contradicting common sense, but it was clearly ideologically driven. Like the promise that more government programs would save money, the radical environmental movement has a terrible track record of making hysterical predictions that never materialize. And its solutions are always the same - bigger government and higher taxes.

In recent days, there have been shocking revelations that the science behind the global warming scare may well be a total scam. E-mails have been leaked from key scientists that appear to expose blatant data manipulation and efforts to suppress dissent. Science and academia are supposed to be all about free inquiry. But these scientists are acting more like petty liberal ideologues determined to pursue their leftwing agenda regardless of the facts.

I won't go into all of the details about the emails in this report. You can read more here and here. But this is not just a scientific scandal. "Climategate" is a huge political scandal as well, encompassing leading leftwing luminaries like Al Gore, who have been working for years to impose various socialist schemes aimed at undermining our sovereignty, crippling our economy and redistributing our wealth, all under the guise of combating global warming.

I'm pleased to report that conservative stalwart Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma is demanding an investigation, and rightly so, because the stakes are tremendous. The entire premise of cap and trade - massive new energy taxes and vastly expanded government power - rests on this apparent scam. It's worth reminding everyone that 82% of House Democrats voted for it, while 94% of House Republicans opposed it. (Gary Bauer; End-of-Day; Nov. 25, 2009)

Obama, Asia, and Iran

Mush vs. Steel

Barack Obama came back from his Asian trip with nothing to benefit the U.S. Meanwhile, Iranian "strong man" Mahmoud Ahmadinejad continues to outmaneuver the Obama Administration, even in our own back yard. The Shiite fundamentalist is strengthening ties with Cuba and Venezuela. Today, he is in resource-rich Brazil, making deals and taunting the United States. From there, he heads to Bolivia to continue to bolster his influence in the Western Hemisphere.

After a year of watching Obama's limp-wristed foreign policy, the Holocaust-denying dictator has concluded he knows his adversary well. He told the Brazilian media that the U.S. and Israel "don't have the courage" to attack Iran and stop his nuclear weapons program. He is probably right about Barack Obama, but I suspect he has misjudged Israel.

Back home in Iran, Ahmadinejad continues to smash dissent while Obama and the State Department grovel at his feet, begging for negotiations. Ahmadinejad laughs in return, and strengthens his control of Iran. Six thousands military centers are being opened in elementary schools throughout the Islamic Republic to indoctrinate young jihadists. The Revolutionary Guards are being given control of various forms of communication - telephone land lines, cell phone companies and Internet providers. In the spring, it will launch its own news agency to spout the mullahs' propaganda.

But no insult, no affront, no threat from Iran will dispel our president's delusional view that if only he could sit down with Ahmadinejad they could kiss and make up. Unfortunately for us, Obama's "mush" is no match for Ahmadinejad's "steel." With each hour, we grow closer to an unprecedented defeat of U.S. interests in the Middle East. (Gary Bauer; End-of-Day; Nov. 25, 2009)

Moslem Hajj Begins Today

Day 1 - November 25, 2009 - From Mecca to Mina living in tents

Pray for the Saudis and other pilgrims to have revelations of Jesus. Pray for them to have an experience like Paul did in Acts 9:3-4 "as he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me [Jesus]?"

Day 2 - November 26, 2009 - Seeking mercy and forgiveness in Muzdalifah

Today the pilgrims from Saudi and others lands are seeking God for mercy and forgiveness. Pray that Ephesians 2:4-5 would be true in their lives. "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved." It is in Christ alone they will be saved.

Day 3 - November 27, 2009 - Throwing rocks at Satan and the slaughter of sheep and goats

On the third day, the pilgrims move before sunrise, back to Mina. Here they throw stone pebbles at pillars that represent the temptations of Satan. Also today, in Saudi Arabia and around the Muslim world sheep and goats will be slaughtered. Muslims reject the slain Lamb of God. Pray that Muslims will understand that Jesus is the promised Lamb that takes away the sins of the world.

Day 4 - November 28, 2009

To the Grand Mosque circling the Ka'aba and the search for water Lord we ask that they would get more and more thirsty, longing in their hearts to know the truth. As Jesus talks with the Samaritan woman in John 4, Jesus says to her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water." Jesus declares that "I who speak to you am he," the one who has living water. Today, we ask that the Saudis and other Muslims would thirst and find the living water of Jesus.

Day 5 - November 29, 2009
- Stoning Satan again and heading home.

As we have prayed - we want to continue to pray that what God has done over the last few days would continue. We have asked that God would continue to reveal his Son to Saudis and other Muslims - may they be on a pilgrimage into Jesus. From John 14:6 we know that Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Please continue to pray for Muslims around the world to come to the Father through Jesus.

Today's Daily Brief

1. Dems: Failure Not an Option on Health Care - Fox News

Failure is not an option on health care, a leading Democratic senator said Monday, even as Republicans turned up the heat on moderates who hold the fate of the legislation in their hands.

• Heavenly Father, despite public opinion about not wanting this healthcare, the Democrats are pushing this onto the people. We pray they will not succeed. We have too much debt and we cannot afford this healthcare.

• The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it. (Proverbs 22:3 NIV)

2. Obama will send 34,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan - Yahoo News

As it now stands, the plan calls for the deployment over a nine-month period beginning in March of three Army brigades from the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky. , and the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, N.Y. , and a Marine brigade from Camp Lejeune, N.C. , for as many as 23,000 additional combat and support troops.

• Heavenly Father, we pray that you change this situation quickly, so our troops receive the necessary help they need including the surge and all equipment as soon as possible. We pray a strong hedge of protection around all our military wherever they are.

Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. (Psalm 25:3)

3. Sarah Palin Dines, Prays With Rev. Billy Graham - Fox News

Sarah Palin on Sunday dined and prayed with the Rev. Billy Graham, who has counseled presidents and other politicians for decades.

• We thank you, Lord, for bringing forward people who love you to serve our nation from the highest posts to the lowest. We pray that you will give us godly leaders who honor and obey you. Remove all corrupt leaders out of position of authority quickly.

For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you. (Deuteronomy 23:14)

4. Reported Hate Crimes Surge in 2008, FBI Says - Fox News

Reports of hate crimes against gays and religious groups increased sharply in 2008, according to new FBI data released Monday.

• Heavenly Father, we pray against this hatred and violence. We pray that people will have wisdom to address the different issues and not resort to these tactics. We pray there will not be discrimination against Christians and the practice of their religion.

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19)

5. CBO: By 2019, Taxpayers Will Pay $196 Billion A Year for Obamacare, But 24 Million People Will Remain Uninsured - CNS News

Under the health care bill introduced by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Wednesday, by 2019 taxpayers will be paying $196 billion per year to subsidize other people's health insurance coverage, but there still will be 24 million uninsured people in America, according to the Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation.

• Lord, this unsustainable healthcare bill is not a good action by our government. We pray you will block all actions that will burden our nation with more debt. Let a strong and loud voice rise up from the citizens against all unscrupulous actions by our leaders.

"I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate. (Proverbs 8:12-13)

6. Lawyer: 9/11 Defendants Want Platform for Views - ABC News

The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.

• Father God, we pray for Your justice to be done to these terrorists. We pray these trials will not be on our soil and in our civil courts, but that many judges will stop this action to bring the terrorist to trial here. Let them be tried in military courts.

Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. (Psalm 37:1, 2)

7. Hundreds Mourn Mich. Boy Allegedly Slain by Father - AP

Relatives say Jamar's father, Jamar Pinkney Sr., was irate over allegations that his son had sexual contact with a 3-year-old girl and made him strip at gunpoint, marched him to the lot and shot him as he begged for his life. Prosecutors have charged him with first-degree murder and jailed him without bond.

• Heavenly Father whether or not this was another honor killing, we pray that parents will not discipline their children with violence. We pray for the new immigrants to refrain from honor killing and for this violence against children in our nation to stop - from abortions, child abuse, or molestations.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. (Psalm 127:3) But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. (Psalms 37:11)

Gold Stars For Genocide

We have all seen how Barack Obama has been humiliated by Iran eleven months into his presidency. Countless times, Obama has stressed the importance of "engagement" and finding "common ground" with the Iranians regarding their nuclear ambitions, while they promise genocide by "wiping Israel off the map." Iran's response has been to continue to fund terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah, to continue to deny the Holocaust and, today, to stage large air defense war games in anticipation of an attack on their nuclear facilities. They are buying time and bolstering their defenses.

Sadly, Obama is implementing a foreign policy based on appeasement even for countries like Sudan that have committed genocide. Earlier this month, the New Republic, a liberal magazine, published an article on Scott Gration. Gration is Obama's special envoy to Sudan, and was one of Candidate Obama's foreign policy advisors during last year's campaign.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Gration describes his mentality when dealing with the corrupt and genocidal Sudanese government: "We've got to think about giving out cookies. Kids, countries - they react to gold stars, smiley faces, handshakes, agreements, talk, engagement." Is this also a description of Barack Obama's foreign policy? The report goes on to describe Gration as a man "with an almost utopian theory about international relations." Obama and Gration are perfect for each other - they think the same way!

What kind of message does this send to other countries when the leader of the free world coddles genocidal dictators? For dictators committing crimes against humanity against their own people, the message is clear: the United States will give you cookies and gold stars if you promise to play nicely with others. You know things are bad when Obama's approach to foreign policy is too naive even for the liberal New Republic. (Gary Bauer; End-of-Day; November 23, 2009)

Cyber Attack Imminent??

FBI Suspects Terrorists Are Exploring Cyber Attacks

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking at people with suspected links to al Qaeda who have shown an interest in mounting an attack on computer systems that control critical U.S. infrastructure, a senior official told Congress Tuesday. While there is no evidence that terrorist groups have developed sophisticated cyber- attack capabilities, a lack of security protections in U.S. computer software increases the likelihood that terrorists could execute attacks in the future, the official warned.

Former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, shown here in Washington in September, says al Qaeda has some cyber-attack capability. If terrorists were to amass such capabilities, they would be wielded with "destructive and deadly intent," Steven Chabinsky, deputy assistant director of the FBI's Cyber Division, told the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday. "The FBI is aware of and investigating individuals who are affiliated with or sympathetic to al Qaeda who have recognized and discussed the vulnerabilities of the U.S. infrastructure to cyber-attack," Mr. Chabinsky told the committee, without providing details. Such infrastructure could include power grids and transportation systems. (The Wall Street Journal) Read more

Spy vs. spy: DOD tracks insider threats

The Defense Department has made sniffing out insider threats a major priority in securing its networks. As cyber threats expand, DOD must contend with the possibility that authorized network users could maliciously or accidentally expose systems to attack or exploitation. Those concerns have been the catalyst for DOD's identity management and desktop security efforts. Internal attacks can take different forms, including an accidental or intentional introduction of malicious code or attempt to export classified or sensitive information. Existing systems often struggle to find insider threats because they rely on identifying who or what is accessing the network. However, new technology can detect threats by their behavior instead of identity. (Defense Systems) Read more

Thanksgiving Greeting from NDP

These are busy days personally and I believe for the entire body of Christ as well. It seems as if Thanksgiving came quickly upon us but I am particularly thankful to our Lord for raising up so many who are eager to enter His presence and be about His business this year. I am grateful for relationships that honor Him in my life, giving instruction, accountability, fellowship and unconditional love. I pray He may lead us all to be generous with those who are in need this Thanksgiving because it all comes from His hand.

At this time of celebration I also want to ask you visit our website to watch a powerful video that honors the fallen from Ft. Hood, Texas. It concludes with a simple picture of this profound loss. As you view, listen to God's heart and pray for all families suffering loss this year and for salvation for the spiritually lost.

". . . Lord we are indeed grateful for all who serve to protect our freedom."

Thanksgiving Prayer Alert

Intercessory Prayer Initiative - PRAYER ALERT - 11/23/2009

As Thanksgiving approaches many will be traveling to spend time with their friends and families, and others will be crowding into stadiums to watch their favorite teams play. Our nation has much to celebrate having been spared national terrorist attacks since 9/11/2001. But we must recognize that it is the grace of God that has kept us from experiencing another major attack on our soil. If we humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways and pray He has promised to heal our land (2 Chron. 7:14).
