"Standing United Together . . . Under the Cross of Christ"

Focus on Israel

1. Israel's counter to the Arab MKs' UN resolution - Israel National News

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon told Arutz Sheva that the Israeli government is considering a response to the initiative of several Arab MKs to promote a resolution condemning Israel and the recently passed Nationality Law at the UN.

"We did not have a majority in the General Assembly, but we proved a few weeks ago that we also have ways to fight the General Assembly," Danon said. "When a resolution was brought to condemn Israel - we fought together with the American delegation for a decision to condemn Hamas. To the surprise of many we succeeded in forming a majority of 62 countries that supported us against other countries."

According to Danon, the Israeli government is considering another counter-proposal to the new resolution pushed for by the Arab MKs, again with American support. "It is possible that this time we will also make a proposal on issues related to the Palestinian Authority, perhaps to the salaries of the terrorists that they pay, and we will not sit idly by and allow them to condemn Israel."

2. New IDF program could put nurses behind enemy lines - World Israel News

The Israeli military is preparing to initiate a pilot program this fall to supplement its medical ranks with nurses, who will join doctors and paramedics providing care at the battle front, reported the Jerusalem Post.

Jointly funded by Israel's Health Ministry and the IDF, the program consists of a three year course of study, after which nurses will be placed in front line battalions and could even be called upon to provide care behind enemy lines.

According to a senior officer in the IDF Technology and Logistics Division quoted by the Post, the program will allow doctors to devote their time and resources to life-saving procedures and tasks, instead of more basic functions such as monitoring vital signs, setting up intravenous lines and wound care.

The IDF is also working to improve medical evacuation protocols, which the army hopes will decrease preventable deaths.

3. Netanyahu to attend UNESCO conference against anti-Semitism - YNET News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted an invitation by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Secretary-General Audrey Azoulay and will participate in a major international conference on combating anti-Semitism, to be held at the United Nations building in New York on September 26.

The event will focus on education designed to combat anti-Semitism and will take place as part of the 73rd General Assembly of the United Nations, following a series of violent anti-Semitic incidents against Jews around the world, including Toulouse, Brussels, Paris and Copenhagen.

4. Abbas pans Israel's 'racist, apartheid' nation-state law - Times of Israel

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas slammed Israel's quasi-constitutional nation-state law on Wednesday, calling it "racist."

Abbas made the remark alongside Bosnian leader Bakir Izetbegovic at a joint press conference at the PA presidential headquarters in Ramallah, following a closed-door meeting with him.

"I told [Izetbegovic] about the latest illegitimate laws that Israel legislated, including the racist, apartheid nation-state law," Abbas said."I told [Izetbegovic] about the latest illegitimate laws that Israel legislated, including the racist, apartheid nation-state law," Abbas said.

5. IDF Concerned UNRWA Cuts Could Lead To Attacks- Jerusalem Post

As thousands of Palestinian youths went back to school on Wednesday, a senior IDF officer told The Jerusalem Post that the cutting of funds to UNRWA schools is a major concern.

"The aid being stopped is a big blow to Palestinians," a senior officer in the Samaria region of the West Bank told the Post on Wednesday. "We are concerned that if the schools aren't funded, the youth will go out and carry out attacks."

According to the senior officer, while there have been no successful attacks in the northern West Bank over the past few months, there remains "a big potential" for deadly attacks.

While there have been significantly less vehicular attacks as well as stabbings and shooting attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians in the West Bank, they remain a major threat. According to the military, shooting or vehicular ramming attacks are more likely to be carried out by young men, while children are behind many of the cases of stone throwing.

The Daily Brief

1. Senate confirms seven more of Trump's judges - Washington Times

The Senate confirmed seven of President Trump's district court nominees on Tuesday after Republicans struck a deal with Democrats to shorten the usual vote times. And the GOP set up another eight votes on district judges for next week, when the Senate returns after a brief Labor Day vacation.

The seven approved this week now give Mr. Trump 35 districts court judges approved so far. He's also won 26 judges to federal circuit courts appeals, and one Supreme Court justice. Of those approved Tuesday, Charles Goodwin, tapped for the Western District of Oklahoma, was confirmed on a 52 to 42 vote, while the other six were approved on voice votes.

One of those was Susan Baxter, who will sit on the Western District of Pennsylvania. She had first been nominated by Mr. Obama in 2015 then renominated by Mr. Trump, leaving her confirmation in limbo for roughly three years until Tuesday. Both her home state senators applauded her long awaited appointment. "I am pleased that Judge Baxter was confirmed by the United States Senate today," said Sen. Pat Toomey, a Republican. "This seat, which is the only federal seat in Erie, has been vacant for over five years," said Democrat Sen. Bob Casey. "I am confident that Judge Baxter will serve the commonwealth honorably." (Read more)

- Father, we pray all President Trump's nominees, whether they be judges or administration officials, will receive expedited confirmation votes over the next few weeks.

- Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. (Deuteronomy 16:18)

2. Chinese company reportedly hacked Clinton's server, got copy of every email in real-time - Fox News

A Chinese state-owned company reportedly hacked former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's email server, then inserted code that forwarded them a copy of virtually every email she sent or received after that -- a revelation President Trump is demanding be investigated.

The Daily Caller reported that the firm operating in the D.C. area wrote code that was then embedded in the server and generated a "courtesy copy" for almost all her emails -- which was then forwarded to the Chinese company. The code reportedly was discovered in 2015 by the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG), which then warned FBI officials of the intrusion.

A source briefed on the matter confirmed to Fox News the details of the Caller's reporting, and said that the ICIG was so concerned by the revelation that officials drove over to the FBI to inform agents -- including anti-Trump agent Peter Strzok -- of the development after it was discovered via the emails' metadata. The source told Fox News the hack was from a Chinese company, describing it as a front for Chinese intelligence. The FBI disputed the claims. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You will bring every hidden thing to light.

- He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. (Daniel 2:22)

3. Ohr admits FBI intentionally deceived FISA court - WND

The former top Justice Department official at the center of the anti-Trump dossier scandal, Bruce Ohr, testified that the FBI was aware when it submitted the dossier as evidence to obtain a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign that the document's author was biased against Trump and that Ohr's wife worked for the company that produced it. That information, however, was withheld from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court, which granted warrants to conduct surveillance on Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page.

The FBI dropped Steele as a source in November 2016, but the Obama administration maintained contact with Steele by using Ohr as a back channel. Issa said in an interview Wednesday with Fox News that he and his colleagues confirmed Tuesday that Ohr was "a willing and constant conduit between Fusion GPS, paid for by the Clinton campaign, and the FBI," referring to the opposition-research company paid by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign to produce the dossier. - Then Abimelek called Abraham in and said, "What have you done to us? How have I wronged you that you have brought such great guilt upon me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that should never be done." (Genesis 20:9)

4. GOP eyes another shot at ObamaCare repeal after McCain's death - The Hill

Senate Republicans say they would like Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) to appoint a successor to the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) who, unlike McCain, would support GOP legislation to repeal ObamaCare. "If we re-engage in that discussion in some point in the future, it would be nice to have members who enable us to pass it," Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Thune (S.D.) said when asked about the possibility of ObamaCare repeal legislation coming up for a future vote.

A senior Senate GOP aide said the chamber would "absolutely" vote again to repeal ObamaCare but cautioned it would depend on "if we keep the House." "McCain was personally conservative but ideologically inconsistent," the aide said. "I think Ducey is going to pick someone more like himself. He's a more reliable conservative."

More generally, GOP senators say they would like the new senator from Arizona to have a better working relationship with Trump. Republicans want Ducey to appoint someone who will be a more reliable vote on health care in case they retain their congressional majorities. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Governor Ducey will make the best choice as he selects a new Senator for the state and people of Arizona.

- For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. (Romans 13:3)

5. Trump Administration [State Department] Turns Balkan Diplomacy Over To Alex Soros - Tsarizm

Confirmed by multiple social media posts, son of billionaire financier George Soros, Alex Soros has been confirmed making at least nine trips over the last several months to meet Balkan leaders. These included President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia, Prime Minster Ana Brnabić of Serbia, and the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, a Soros protege, and the President Hashim Thaçi of Kosovo.

The Soros organization is pushing hard for an 'open borders' regime in the Balkans, akin to a new Yugoslavia, controlled by Soros-installed leaders across the turbulent area. The American embassy in Albania has been pushing hard for the Soros regime, all the while openly flouting the Trump agenda.

U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton recently commented on the situation saying that the Trump administration would not interfere in discussions between Soros and Balkan leaders. "The U.S. policy is that if the two parties can work it out between themselves and reach agreement, we don't exclude territorial adjustments," Bolton said. "We would not stand in the way, and I don't think anybody in Europe would stand in the way, if the two parties to the dispute reached a mutually satisfactory settlement." (Read more)

- Father, we pray You will defeat any and every wicked plan for the people living in the Balkans. Grant them Your peace and renew their spirits.

- Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10)

6. Facebook Employees Turn on Tech Giant, Call For More Tolerance of the Right - Western Journal

A group of disgruntled Facebook employees took to the company's internal message board last week and claimed the social media giant had a "problem with political diversity." The New York Times reports the employees posted the message titled, "We Have A Problem With Political Diversity." The post immediately went viral inside the company. The post was written by Brian Amerige, a senior engineer for the social media giant.

"We are a political monoculture that's intolerant of different views," Amerige said. "We claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack - often in mobs - anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition to left-leaning ideology." Amerige claims that due to the culture of disparaging any viewpoints other than "left-leaning" ones, employees are "afraid to say anything when they disagree with what's around them politically."

"We are entrusted by a great part of the world to be impartial and transparent carriers of people's stories, ideas, and commentary," he said. "Congress doesn't think we can do this. The president doesn't think we can do this. And like them or not, we deserve that criticism." (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for these brave Facebook employees who are willing to tell the truth about censorship. We ask You to protect them and help them persuade their colleagues of the benefits of free speech for all.

- I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. (Psalm 17:6)

7. Blue-Collar Workers Increasingly Optimistic Under Trump - Free Beacon

Nearly two years into the Trump presidency, blue-collar workers are increasingly optimistic about their social and economic circumstances. A new survey, conducted by the Harris Poll, found that 85 percent of blue-collar workers said their lives are advancing in "the right direction."

The soaring economy, buoyed by the president's tax cut package, has also translated into increased wages and bonuses for the American worker. Over two-thirds of blue-collar workers-68 percent-reported receiving a pay increase in the past year, according to the Harris Poll. Of those who received a pay increase, 39 percent of respondents stated their raise equaled more than 5 percent of their annual earnings.

Mark Glyptis, the president of United Steelworkers Local 2911 in Weirton, W.Va., told the Washington Free Beacon there was no doubt about the economic resurgence being witnessed. "Previous administrations, both Democratic and Republican, spent too much time worrying about foreign unemployment rates while neglecting our domestic economy," Glyptis said.

"President Trump has made American manufacturing-especially steel-more competitive on the world stage by ensuring a level playing field. We didn't have that ability under previous presidents." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for Your continued blessing upon the men and women who work in our factories, trades, and skilled labor. As their lives improve, we also pray they will receive the respect they deserve.

- She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands. (Proverbs 31:13)

8. America's STD Crisis: Franklin Graham Says Spike a 'Moral and Spiritual Crisis' - CBN News

Evangelist Franklin Graham reacted Wednesday to a report about a shocking increase in sexually transmitted diseases in the US. In a series of tweets, he said, "The CDC announced yesterday that our nation has set another record, but it's not one to celebrate. Last year nearly 2.3 million cases of sexually transmitted diseases were diagnosed in the U.S.

That broke the record set in 2016 by nearly 200,000 cases," Graham points out. "An STD expert says that President Trump should declare this a public health crisis. I believe what America has is a moral crisis and a spiritual crisis. And it manifests itself in many ways, including this public health crisis. Sin always has a cost, a consequence. God loves us and wants to protect us. His Word tells us what to do: 'Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but he sexually immoral person sins against his own body.'" (1 Cor. 6:18).

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Tuesday a "steep and sustained" increase in syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia, adding that the diagnosed cases are likely only a fraction of the actual number of people infected. "We are sliding backward," declared Dr. Jonathan Mermin, the CDC's director of sexually transmitted diseases. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for a return to the sexual boundaries - You have lovingly given us in Your Word - for each man and woman to submit to the protection and bond of faithful marriage.

- Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)

9. Chinese envoy's lips zipped on trade war talks as United States turns attention to Canada, Mexico and Europe - South China Morning Post

The head of Beijing's trade talks delegation to Washington last week has avoided all mention of the trade war or his US trip in his first public appearance back in China.

Wang's silence contrasted with public comments by US officials. On Tuesday US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin set out the Trump administration's priorities on trade negotiations, saying further talks with China are unlikely until trade issues with Mexico, Canada and Europe are resolved.

Trade tensions escalated again on Thursday when the US enacted punitive tariffs of 25 per cent on US$16 billion of Chinese imports, prompting immediate retaliation from China. The US also wrapped up an unprecedented six days of public hearings on Monday on plans to impose tariffs on US$200 billion of Chinese imports, which are expected to go into effect in September. China will not be able to match the figure since China's total imports from the US are less than US$200 billion. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You will bring the Chinese government to the bargaining table and help them develop a mutually beneficial trade agreement with the United States.

- A just balance and scales belong to the Lord; all the weights of the bag are His concern. (Proverbs 16:11)

10. Fissures Grow At Top Of Iran's Government As Rouhani Censured, Top Officials Sacked - ZeroHedge

Iran's parliament has censured President Hassan Rouhani, voting on Tuesday to reject his explanations for why the country's economy is crumbling. Reuters reports this came after Rouhani underwent a grilling in front of parliament on live TV as hardliners gain the upper hand after crippling rounds of US sanctions.

It's but the latest sign of deep fissures that run to the top of Iran's government after parliament sacked the minister of economy and finance over the weekend. This followed the labor minister's sacking as well - both were blamed for not staving off the collapse of the rial and surging inflation.

No doubt, the White House welcomes these growing public divisions as President Trump has now on multiple occasions credited increased domestic turmoil in Iran with his pulling the US from the Iran nuclear deal last May and reimposing aggressive sanctions targeting major industries.

Meanwhile it appears there's likely more carnage within Tehran's leadership to come: following the exit of both the finance and labor ministers this month, Tasnim news agency reported that 70 lawmakers have already moved to impeach a third: the Minister of Industry, Mines and Business. The long-term ascendancy of the hard-line faction in Iran's government is also likely to make it easier for hawks in Washington and Tel Aviv to make a public case that the regime needs to be toppled. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray for Your guidance over the events in Iran and we ask You to humble their leadership, freeing the people of Iran from oppression and bondage.

- Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, 'I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. (Exodus 6:6)

11. Judge dismisses charges against New Mexico jihadists - WND

A judge in New Mexico dismissed all original child-abuse charges Wednesday against five Muslims who after their arrest at a desert compound were accused of training children to carry out terrorist attacks on schools.

District Judge Emilio Chavez in Taos County said he was forced to drop the charges against Siraj Wahhaj, Jany Leveille, Lucas Morton, Subhannah Wahhaj and Hujrah Wahhaj because the state violated the 10-day rule for a preliminary hearing.

Morton, Subhannah Wahhaj and Hujrah Wahhaj could be released as early Wednesday afternoon, reported KOAT-TV in Albuquerque. Wahhaj and Leveille will remain in custody on additional child abuse charges in connection with the death of 3-year-old Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj.

Prosecutors could still try to obtain charges against the five by seeking an indictment from a grand jury. Later Wednesday, Wahhaj and Leveille pleaded not guilty to new charges of child abuse resulting in death. (Read more)

- Father God, we appeal to You who rules over the High Court in heaven to bring Your justice to earth. We ask for an appeal of this case, in Your name, amen.

The Deception Machine

Google's algorithms are 96% biased in favor of showing liberal news outlets when searching for news about President Trump. She said "far too little attention has been paid to power brokers like Google, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube and their ability--and perhaps even desire--to manipulate public opinion and shape the world into their own Silicon Valley image." Google promptly denied the allegation. Then CNN defended Google with a story headlined, "Trump slams Google search as "rigged"-but it's not." That story was the lead story on Google search. See how the cycle of deception goes into self-protection?

President Trump tweeted Tuesday, ""Google search results for 'Trump News' shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake New Media . . . In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out." Then there is the ongoing story of how the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid for a fake dossier on Trump, and the ex-president used it to get a FISA Court order to spy on Trump and his campaign. This fake dossier was leaked to the media and became the heart of the Russian-influence-on-the-election investigations. See how the cycle of deception is generated?

Now the top news stories are those centered around whether Trump is going to attempt to regulate free speech. The inference is that Trump is the fascist that the media has been saying he was all along. See how the media used a documented fact against it to turn a legitimate response into a straw man against democracy? This is just one example of what has been going on since before this president took office. Despite the media being called out over and over again about its ideological bigotry and political intolerance, there is no self-examination even in the face of the facts. We have seen several examples of this over the past two weeks, including the group editorial of over 300 outlets claiming Trump wanted to shut down freedom of the press. See the theme that is developing among them?

These leftists have used ideological subversion over the decades to brainwash people into believing what the media reports is not only truth, but what is right. Then they take the high ground and label anyone who disagrees with them as bigots or "phobes" of some sort. What does this have to do with Christianity? The deception machine has no bounds unless it is stopped by truth. The constant brainwashing to think secularly creates a chasm between truth and lie. The wider the chasm, the further people are from believing any truth. This has eternal implications because, as we know, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." The deception machine is a spiritual black hole to hell. Take heed that no man deceive you.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

"And so, having patiently waited, he [Abraham] obtained the promise." (Hebrews 6:15)

Lyrics

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,

Chorus:

Standing on the promises of God.
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

Chorus

3

Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.

4

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love's strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

List'ning every moment to the Spirit's call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,

Signs and Wonders

Two French rivers disappear underground

The Doubs river flows normally in Franche-Comté, France. But since about a week or so, the river has totally dried up over a length of more than 1 km, between Pontarlier and Morteau, although precipitation has been abundant this winter and spring. The river has disappeared, and with it, the fauna and flora. Everything is dead. Two weeks ago, 13km of the Risle River also disappeared underground in a large crater. According to geologists, this unprecedented event is due to large cracks and craters in the riverbed. The Doubs River has disappeared underground in August 2018.

The cave of Remonot is located near the village of Morteau along the Doubs. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, this Chapel-Cave contains miraculous water and is visited each year on August 15, 2018, day of the Assumption. But during this year's annual pilgrimage, the cave was dry! The first time ever!

Nearby, the Doubs river is also dry. No water, just pebbles and dead fish.

Residents explain they have never seen this before. The river has disappeared over more than 1 kilometer, and with it, the fauna and flora. Everything is dead. The president of a local fishing association reports having experienced such a situation during the severe drought of 1976. But now, it's different . . . there was a lot of snow and water this winter. This situation is totally insane and ANOMALOUS!

Now, geologists say the river disappearance is due to large cracks in the karstic riverbed, which empty the river underground like a siphon. It is perhaps the important spring floods that washed away the sediment patches that blocked the holes and fissures.

After disappearing, the Doubs than re-enters the Loue, the other large river in the region. So the cracks kind of link the two rivers?!?

Two weeks ago, the Risle River, a 13km long stream, also disappeared suddenly in Normandy, after a big sinkholes openened up in the riverbed:

But now, everybody is just wondering when will the rivers reappear again! Well, it may take longer than you think guys! (ScienceGlobalNews) Read more.

'Everything is Possible with Jesus': Iraqi Christians Demonstrate Stunning Faith by Forgiving ISIS Captors

[Faithwire.com] Four years ago, ISIS militants were sweeping through Iraq, completely decimating all that was in their path, sparing no one. Christians in the Ninevah Plains fled for their lives, some making it to other countries, where they would live for years, others not making it safely.

But now, after four years, the 140,000 Christians that lived in the Ninevah Plains are finally returning to their homes.

The Knights of Columbus, the largest Catholic fraternal organization in the world, has been working to aid persecuted Christians in the Middle East since the mass purge of Christians from the Ninevah Plains first started taking place.

"The program was to eliminate the population and to also eliminate the historical memory-to get the people who lived there out of there," Andrew Walther of the Knights of Columbus stated.

Walther pointed out that not only were Christians displaced from their homes, but their homes were also destroyed-rather quickly, he noted.

"This is why they blew up Roman ruins in Palmyra. This is why they blew up the tomb of Jonah. This is why they had a systematic destruction of Christian cemeteries, of Christian churches, and the desecration of Christian graves," Walther stated.

The Nineveh Plains hold much significance for Middle Eastern Christians, and for over 2,000 years, they were home to Assyrian Christians, until ISIS drove them out.
