Under the Cross of Christ"

"Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him." (Daniel 7:27)

1. Shimon Peres and Oslo: Addict or visionary? - Jerusalem Post

"Shimon Peres remained committed to Oslo until his last breath," Yair Hirschfeld, whose secret contacts with Palestinian leader Ahmed Qurei (Abu Ala) paved the way for the negotiations that led to the 1993 Oslo I Agreement, told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.

To be sure, Peres never voiced regret for Oslo even though it became a dirty word for many Israelis, conjuring up images of exploding buses and a second, more violent, intifada. As late as 2011, as president, he engaged in secret contacts in Amman with his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, aimed at resolving issues left open by the Oslo Accords. (Read more)

2. With 80 foreign leaders en route, Israel gears up for Peres funeral - Times of Israel

Police on Wednesday issued hasty traffic notifications across Jerusalem as security services prepared for the arrival of dozens of foreign heads of state, ministers and public figures making their way to Israel to attend the funeral ceremony in the capital on Friday of former president Shimon Peres, who died early Wednesday morning at the age of 93. Thousands of Israelis were also expected to pay their tributes to the last of the country's founding fathers as his body will his lie in state at the Knesset starting at 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Members of the public will be able to file past the casket to pay their last respects to the former president and prime minister for the next 12 hours. Peres's body will be moved to the Mount Herzl cemetery Friday at 8:30 a.m. and the official state ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. After the eulogies, a procession will head out at 11:00 a.m. to the cemetery's Great Leaders of the Nation section where a burial ceremony will then begin at 12:00 p.m. Peres will be interred between the late prime ministers Yitzhak Shamir and Yitzhak Rabin. > > > Father, we lift up all security needs for the people of Israel as this great assembly of world leaders comes together tomorrow to honor the passing of Shimon Peres. Thank You, Lord, for drawing them all to JERUSALEM, the city that bears Your name, and thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen.

- " . . . your city and your people are called by your name." (Daniel 9:19)

"The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." (Psalm 18:10)

3. Netanyahu mourns loss of Peres as Israel bids farewell to a founding father - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife expressed their condolences early Wednesday morning at the passing of Israel's ninth president and internationally cherished diplomat emeritus Shimon Peres.

Few are the people in Israel's history who have done as much for the state and the Jewish people as Shimon Peres, Netanyahu said in a statement released just before a special cabinet meeting he is convening to honor the former president.

"Like all the citizens of Israel, the whole Jewish people, and many in the world, I bow my head in memory of our beloved Shimon Peres," he said in a statement. (Read more)

The Daily Brief

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

1. Obama, Hollande, Prince Charles among dozens of world leaders to honor Peres at funeral - Times of Israel

The White House confirmed Wednesday night that US President Barack Obama "will lead the US delegation to Jerusalem to participate in the funeral."

Obama would depart for Israel on Thursday and return after the ceremony on Friday, the White House said. Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry were also expected to attend.

Former US president Bill Clinton, a longtime friend of Peres since his term in the White House during the height of the Oslo peace process in the 1990s, is also slated to attend. (Read more)

- Father, we continue to lift this historic event before Your Throne of Grace. We ask You to be present with all who will assemble at this funeral to honor the memory and the legacy of Shimon Peres. As these world leaders set foot in Jerusalem - Your holy ground - may each one be moved in his heart to know that this life is but for a moment, and that eternity awaits us all. May each one come to know You, Abba Father, as his or her own personal Savior, Lord, and Messiah. In the Name that is above all names we offer this prayer, amen.

- "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." (I Timothy 2:1-4)

2. Obama orders US flags be flown at half-staff in honor of Peres - Times of Israel

US President Barack Obama ordered Wednesday that US flags at the White House and at all federal buildings across the country and abroad be flown at half-staff in honor of former Israeli president Shimon Peres, who passed away early Wednesday morning at the age of 93.

The order also applies to US embassies, military posts, naval stations and naval vessels across the world. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that our nation will honor Israel in this manner in her time of mourning. Amen.

- "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)

3. Donald Trump says Peres personified 'dignity and grace' - Times of Israel

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump extended his condolences to the family of former president Shimon Peres, who died early Wednesday two weeks after suffering a severe stroke.

Trump lauded the "dignity and grace" of Israel's last founding father. "Melania and I extend our deepest condolences to the family of Shimon Peres on the passing of their beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather," he said in a statement.

"On the world stage, Shimon Peres was a visible and highly effective patriarch to another, much larger family - the people of Israel, whom he led as prime minister and president," he added.

"Shimon Peres's life always pointed toward peace. Bearing witness to more than his share of war and its human toll, Shimon Peres devoted his leadership skills to cultivating peace between Israel and her Arab neighbors. He was a consummate statesman, a distinguished patriot and a friend of peace-loving people everywhere. With his hand outstretched in peace and friendship, Shimon Peres personified dignity and grace in a region of the world where both run far too short. May he rest in peace." (Read more)

- Thank You, Father, by this statement made by Donald Trump. May his words reflect the hearts of all American people in this time of mourning in Israel. Amen.

- "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1)

4. Hoboken train crash: 1 dead, 74 sent to hospital - CNN

A New Jersey Transit train plowed through a major station in Hoboken during Thursday morning's rush-hour commute, killing at least one person and sending 74 other people to hospitals, some with serious injuries, local officials said.

Witnesses said the train overran its stopping point, slammed into a bumper block, went airborne and hurtled through a passenger concourse at about 8:45 a.m. at the terminal, one of the busiest transit hubs in the New York metropolitan area.

The person who died was standing on the platform when the train came into the station, two officials briefed on the matter said. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray for the family of the one who lost his or her life this morning in this terrible accident, and we pray for healing for those who have been injured. Lord God, if this was a terrorist attack, we ask that this fact be revealed quickly and that all hidden things be brought to light, leading to a thorough investigation of the cause of this crash. We ask this in Your name, amen.

- "It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him." (Daniel 12:22)

5. Deadline Looms to Save Internet Freedom - ACLJ

This week, our nation faces a looming deadline that could forever alter the future of cybersecurity and Internet freedom. The Obama Administration is banking on you not paying attention as this historic moment nears.

But we have the opportunity to fight back and demand that our Members of Congress keep the Internet free and secure for everyone. We've been fighting on this front for years, but now the deadline looms.

Let me be very blunt. Once America gives up control of the Internet, there is no reset button. The Internet could very well fall into the hands of the world's most anti-free speech dictators, and we could do absolutely nothing about it.

The deadline is October 1st. Unless the U.S. government acts, U.S. oversight of the Internet will pass to a multinational organization, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICAAN).

Let me be clear - this has monumental ramifications for cybersecurity, our national security, free speech on the Internet, and much more. Congress must clearly pass a bill to stop this transfer of power from happening. (For details, go here.)

- Father, we come against this planned takeover of our free use of the internet by these globalist powers in the Name of Jesus. We ask that You now intervene to stop this disaster at the gate, and to trample those who would trample us, in Your name, amen.

- Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 29:36)

"'This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!'"
(Job 38:11)

6. Congress clears bill to prevent shutdown - POLITICO

Congress hit the exits Wednesday night, with the House and Senate passing legislation to avoid a government shutdown and lawmakers skipping town until after Election Day.

The bill flew through Capitol Hill - first being passed by the Senate, 72-26, and hours later by the House, 342-85. The legislation, which had White House backing, would fund the federal government through Dec. 9, provide $1.1 billion to combat the Zika virus and send $500 million to Louisiana and other states facing natural disasters. (Read more)

- Father, thank You that we do not have to live with the threat of another government shutdown. Now that Congress has gone out of session, we ask that each member might have time to spend with You, in devotions, or be drawn to You for salvation. May Your peace rule in our lives and in our land, in Your name, amen.

- "And of the increase of His government, and peace, there shall be no end."
(Isaiah 9:7)

7. Serious or just a sick joke? What we know about creepy clown reports - USA Today

Reports of clowns haunting more than ten states have people on edge. And, the reports keep coming.

Yesterday, someone reported seeing a car full of clowns, possibly armed, driving through a Pennsylvania college campus.

So, is the creepy clown epidemic serious or just a sick joke? Police are investigating a host of reports from South Carolina to Georgia, but haven't arrested any clown criminals - yet. Here's what we know. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that You know where and who these "clowns" are . . . and their true agenda. We pray for the protection of our children, even as we ask that the locations of these "clowns" be found and their evil schemes dismantled, in Your name, amen.

- "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
(Matthew 21:22)

8. Rise of Satanism another sign of 'America's fall from God' - WND

Elementary schools forced by the government to allow "Satan Clubs" on school grounds. Statues of Baphomet are erected in major American cities. And a national headquarters for the "Satanic Temple" in Salem, Massachusetts, famous for its "witch trials" during colonial times. Has America gone to the devil? Christian leaders are speaking out - and they are reluctantly saying it has. (Read more here)

- Father we fall to our knees in repentance for allowing this travesty to occur in America. We seek Your Face for the answers, and pray that You will intervene. Our children are at stake and we are grieved at this development.

"But they did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight. Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy, but they shall be ashamed."
(Isaiah 66:4d,5c)

9. Gay pride flag launched into space 'to spread peace' - BBC

The rainbow flag that symbolises gay pride has been sent into space for the first time via a high-altitude balloon. Planting Peace, a US-based non-profit group that seeks to "spread peace in a hurting world", launched the flag near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 17 August. The balloon captured video with a GoPro camera as it floated 21.1 miles (34.1km) above earth for three hours. (Read more)

- Father, we were born for such a time as now. We have a sacred duty to restrain this evil in today's world. We have a message to send to the nations. Loving others into the kingdom means shining our lights on them and presenting Your truth to them. We ask for the grace to do so, while there is yet time on earth, in Your name, amen.

- "For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but the one who now restrains it will continue until he is taken out of the way." (2 Thessalonians 2:7)

10. Syrian state media show off Aleppo's 'thriving nightlife' as bombs rain down - Fox News

Hundreds of people have fallen victim to an onslaught of airstrikes linked to Russia and the Syrian government in the wartorn city of Aleppo over the past week -- but a video released by Syrian state media suggests that it's still a place for young people to party the night away.

The video, appearing on the Syrian Arab News Agency's English-language Twitter account over the weekend, shows a packed nightclub with fist-pumping dancers as a D.J. spins tunes. A device resembling a torch shoots out flames at the unnamed club.

A graphic at the end of the video indicated that it was recorded on July 16 somewhere in Aleppo, telling viewers, "Hello Summer."

Part of the tweet's video caption reads, "#Aleppo, now dubbed as the 'World's Most Dangerous City,' still boasts a thriving nightlife." (Read more)

- Lord, we recoil at how "sick" this headline is. Father God, let truth prevail in the nations, so that that which needs to be corrected will be done. We come against this lie, and we ask for truth, in Your Name, amen.

- "For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth."
(2 Corinthians 13:8)

New terror law aimed at close Clinton ally

Congress enacted a law to allow families of victims to sue Saudi Arabia for its implicit role in 911, and seize Saudi assets if they obtain a judgment against the Saudi government. The "president" fiercely fought the legislation and vetoed it. Congress, in a rare show of both unity and spine, overwhelmingly overrode his veto. Hillary Clinton's running mate, Senator Tim Kaine, did not vote, signaling that team Clinton also opposed the legislation. Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, released a statement in June saying that the Saudis fund 20% of Clinton's campaign, which is illegal. Put two and two together and Clinton's terror sponsoring donors can now be sued and their assets seized.

The New York Times reports that the law allows families of the Sept. 11 victims to alter lawsuits already underway--or file new suits--to directly sue Saudi Arabia and to demand documents and other evidence. It amends a 1976 law that grants foreign countries broad immunity from American lawsuits. Now nations can be sued in federal court if they are found to have played any role in terrorist attacks that killed Americans on United States soil. The Saudi Arabian government lobbied hard against the bill. Clinton and the Saudis share a long history. In 2008, for example, the Saudis gave up to $20 million to the Clinton Foundation, which oft has been accused of laundering money to Clinton political causes. These ties go deep.

John Podesta, is Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman and founder of the Podesta group. The Podesta Group is receiving some $200,000 a month for "public relations services" from Saudi Arabia. When the Deputy Crown Prince's statement was posted, the Podesta Group issued a correction through Petra (Jordan's official news agency) that Petra did not publish the statement by the Saudi Deputy Crown Prince, that it was hacked and the statement appeared. Notwithstanding, Breitbart reported that records verify Hillary Clinton's foundation has taken between $74.5-87.8 million from Algeria, Brunei, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates--all Islamic nations. Clinton admits that some sponsor terrorism.

Hillary says that the Saudis, Qataris, Kuwaitis and others should stop sponsoring terrorism. Yet her foundation has taken at least $75 million from them and others, with one claiming it funds 20% or $42 million of her presidential campaign. Add that Huma Abedin, whose family is foundational to the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization, is Clintons top aide, and her campaign chairman John Podesta works for the Saudis, and there is the appearance of something deceptive, illegal and dangerous to Americans taking place with Ms. Clinton. 2 Timothy 3:13 says, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." Just make sure these free-walking criminals do not deceive you.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Saudi Arabia Deports Christians for Praying

Saudi Arabia has deported 27 Christians, including children, for praying and celebrating a church festival in a private home. The believers who are Lebanese Maronites, the largest Christian denomination in Lebanon, were arrested after religious police raided the home in Al Khafij, in the east of the country.

Details have only just emerged of the arrest and those involved were charged with "un-Islamic prayer," according to EWTN News.

The Christians said their prayers and celebrations were not an insult to Islam. (Premier Christian Radio) Read more here.

Classic Hymns:

HIGHER GROUND

"Let us go up to the mountain of the Lord." (Micah 4:2)

Lyrics

I'm pressing on the upward way, New heights I'm gaining every day; Still praying as I'm onward bound, "Lord, plant my feet on higher ground."

Refrain

Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven's table land, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay Where doubts arise and fears dismay; Though some may dwell where those abound, My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

Refrain

I want to live above the world, Though Satan's darts at me are hurled; For faith has caught the joyful sound, The song of saints on higher ground.

Refrain

I want to scale the utmost height And catch a gleam of glory bright; But still I'll pray till Heav'n I've found, "Lord, plant my feet on higher ground."

Refrain

The Strange Thing About this Sunset . . .

Yesterday at sunset, Mila Zinkova was looking west from Pacifica CA when "something strange happened," she reports. The sun split into multiple layers and a green flash appeared. But, that wasn't the strange thing. Temperature inversions above the ocean surface frequently distort the setting sun off the Califonia coast. "Take a closer look at the picture," urges Zinkova. "Where did that vertical pillar of light at the bottom come from?"

Just another evening on the California coast . . . Turn up the volume and watch it again.

Prophecy Watchers On High Alert As Rare 'Black Moon' This Friday Will Usher In Jewish Feast Of Trumpets

On Friday September 30, a rare Black Moon will occur right before the Jewish Feast of Trumpets, which many are linking to the apocalypse.

The spectacular Black Moon occurs when the illuminated side of the moon is caught in the shadow of the Earth, making it virtually impossible to see. The phenomenon happens roughly every 32 months, but this one holds special significance due to other universal activity this month.

The first day of September brought with it a 'ring of fire' solar eclipse - where the moon falls in line with the Earth and the sun above Africa, making it appear as if the sun had darkened. This year, the Black Moon phenomenon has a twist to it - it will usher in the Jewish Feast of Trumpets. (Now the End Begins) Read more here.

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." Luke 21:25,26 (KJV)

"He Gave Me Hope"

- the Overwhelming Compassion of a Highway Patrol Officer

With the very strained relationship between the police and the African-American community of late, it's good to hear a story of them coming together in compassion and appreciation.

Sgt. David Robison, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol didn't let a unique opportunity pass him by on Sunday, when he arrived to assist a State Trooper who had stopped a speeding car at 3AM.

According to the FOX 8 report, Mark Ross had just found out his 15-year-old sister had been killed in a car accident, and he needed to get to Detroit to support his mother.

Ross' license was suspended so he convinced a friend (whose license was reportedly also suspended) to drive him from Indiana, but when he saw the flashing lights behind them he was sure his trip was over.

"I knew I was going to jail due to a petty warrant," Ross explained later in a Facebook post.

The driver was taken into custody by the trooper, and Sgt. Robison went over to talk to Ross.

Ross' Facebook post (excerpted below), which has since gone viral, explains what happened next:
