"Our help is in the Name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 124:8)

The Daily Brief

1. U.N. panel's report on Palestinian statehood bid due in 2 weeks - CNN

The U.N. Security Council's admissions committee is set to review the Palestinian application for statehood Friday, (today). It's the first meeting of that committee, which includes all 15 members of the council. The debate is expected to be largely symbolic in the face of a promised U.S. veto. But the permanent observer of the Palestinian Authority to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, held out hope this week that the application would be accepted. The United States did not raise an objection to the referral to the committee.

PA: We are one vote shy of a majority in Security Council - Jerusalem Post

Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki said Thursday that the Palestinians have received approval from eight members of the UN Security Council in support of their bid for full membership to the United Nations.

- O Lord God of Israel, the Covenant Keeping God, we come to You, asking firstly for forgiveness that our ambassador to the UN, was not instructed to block this referral. We ask You to show mercy to Your people here in the U.S., and especially in Israel. We know You are a just God, Who loves mercy, but You are also true to Your Word, and watch over it to perform it. We ask, Abba, that this committee would experience the "fear of the Lord", and know that if they come against Israel, they are coming against You and will pay an awful price. We ask that You would give them a clear revelation of that fact, to the point where this will fail in committee, and not be recommended to the whole council. We stand with our precious Israeli brethren against this evil plot of the enemy! Amen!

- " I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land." (Joel 3:2) (See an additional article on this news, below.)

2. U.S. Official: American-born terrorist, Al-Awlaki Killed by CIA drone attack! - Fox

CIA-led drone attack kills terror leader, American, Anwar al-Awlaki, and Al Qaeda magazine editor Samir Khan in Yemen, in a strike that used two Predator drones and Hellfire missiles. Al-Awlaki tried to use WMDs to attack Westerners.

- Father, we thank You for the intelligence-capability of our nation in locating this one who wished to harm his own people, here in America, and also Your people, Israel. We thank You for the precision with which they were able to locate him, and carry out the mission. We pray that somehow his relatives here will be brought into a saving knowledge of You, and be able to forgive him. Amen.

- "The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden. The LORD is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands." (Psalm 9:15,16)

3. Fed Chairman Calls on U.S. Legislators to Address Unemployment Woes - Intl Business Times

U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke on Wednesday expressed that national unemployment is a serious problem that has to be dealt with immediately.

a) Stagnant U.S. jobs market bodes ill for world economy - Reuters

Record-high long-term unemployment is testing politicians and central bankers to the utmost as the impact of a shortfall in demand is amplified by an aging population, a mismatch of skills and inadequate efforts to get people back to work.

- Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider, we look to You for Your wisdom to be given to Your people, and to our legislators, as they deal with this very high unemployment rate. Not only are our people suffering, but it is having a global effect on other nations. We ask for Your mercy and provision for those of our people who are seeking employment. We ask that You give them creative ideas to earn money, that will enable them to feed their families until they secure gainful employment again. We thank You that You direct our steps, and that You have promised to supply the needs of Your people. Amen.

- "And let our own people really learn to apply themselves to good deeds, to honest labor and honorable employment, so that they may be able to meet necessary demands, whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives." (Titus 3:14)

4. Census Bureau Admits It 'Artifcially Inflated the Number of Same-Sex Couples' - CNS News

The Census Bureau admitted Tuesday that it had "artificially inflated the number of same-sex couples" in the United States, initially reporting a number that was about 40 percent higher than what it now believes is accurate.

- Lord, we thank You for revealing the truth of this matter. We know that Yeshua is the Truth, and that Your Word declares that You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden most parts you make us to know wisdom (Ps. 51:6). We pray, O Lord, that You will continue to expose the lies of those who wish to deceive the public, and stop the mouth of liars. (Ps. 63:11) We ask You to uncover and expose the deception of those who have "secret agendas". We thank You, amen.

- "For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light." (Mark 4:22)

5. Park Officials: Finished inspecting Pyramid top of Washington Monument - Washington Post

National Park Service officials say engineers have completed an inspection of earthquake damage at the pyramid-like top of the Washington Monument. At a briefing Friday, officials said engineers also inspected six levels of stone below the top for damage done during the 5.8 earthquake. The team is rappelling down the monument, removing loosened pieces of stone and mortar from numerous cracks. Park Service spokesman Bill Line says the work will continue through the weekend and is expected to be completed Tuesday.

- Father, we thank You for the degree of protection that You provided for our national monument, honoring our first President, a man we believe knew You and loved You. We sense that this "damage" is a sign in the natural, that the foundation of our nation on You, is "cracking" and in danger. We, therefore, reaffirm our commitment and allegiance to You. We thank You for the opportunity of entering into the "Forty Days of Light and Fire over D.C. and Eleven Days in Philadelphia of reformation intercession for our fifty states, plus one very important District", which will take place October 3 - Nov. 11, 2011. [See GOOD NEWS, below.] We ask that our foundation as a nation committed to You, will be strengthened and stabilized! We pray for repair of the cracks in the natural and in the Spirit! In Your Name we pray, Amen!

- "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance." (Psalm 33:12)

- Dear Lord Jesus, we ask You to intervene in this situation, and bring healing for Landra Reid. We thank You that medical science has now identified 39 categories of illnesses; and that on the Cross, you bore 39 stripes.

Abba, You do nothing by chance. We ask that the Stripe that You bore to defeat this cancer would be activated now, by our prayers, because it is written: "By Your stripes, she is healed." In Your Name, amen.

When leadership lacks God, wisdom and common sense

The man who occupies the Oval Office is now saying that Americans are "soft." He and a willing Congress incurred historically record debt on a nonsensical plan to spend the nation out of a recession; unemployment is over 9% with far more Americans now hopelessly unemployed; food and fuel prices have skyrocketed; a record number of people have lost their homes; the government will not defend our borders; American foreign policy is spending billions in support of terrorist organizations overthrowing governments--and because some 73% of the people believe the country is on the wrong track with over 40% saying the worst is yet to come--the president says we are soft. This is leadership? Hardly.

This Administration, and for the most part, this Congress--let's just say the Federal government--behaves insanely. It puts out reports that Christian Americans are a terrorist threat, yet refuses to deal with the real terrorist threat--Islam. In fact, when yet another Islamic is arrested for plotting terrorist acts, the Department of Justice--America's chief upholder of the law--has the nerve to say the Islamist Jihadist is "is not reflective of a particular culture, community or religion." The same Department of Justice recently sold weapons to Mexican drug cartel members in an effort to track their crimes. The result was an American border agent was killed, and even more crimes were committed using these weapons.

Its like there is no common sense whatsoever in the leadership of America. The president recently suggested that the European Union incur more debt to "recapitalize" their banks in avoiding a Euro-meltdown. German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble said it was a "stupid idea," making "no sense." He went on to say that the president should mind his own business and solve his own problems before giving advice to others. The entire idea of creating debt to get out of debt is stupid. Link that with ignoring two of the greatest threats to freedom--Islam and big government--and we have a "stupid" crisis on our hands, which amounts to a leadership crisis.
Many of America's leadership are products of the liberal '60's. They fell prey to the secular humanist, Soviet-inspired plan to undermine America called "Ideological Subversion." Former KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov described it as brainwashing left-leaning people to change their perception of reality so "no one is able to come to sensible conclusions." As a result we have godless leadership lacking wisdom. We are like Isaiah 59:13-14 which says, "In transgressing and lying against the Lord and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter."

Urgent Prayer request from Israel

In order for a Palestinian state to come into being, it must get nine votes out of 15 in the Security Council. Secondly the resolution must not be vetoed by any of the five permanent members - the U.S., Britain, France, China and Russia.

The U.S. has declared that it will veto such a resolution if nine or more members vote for a Palestinian state. It will be much better for the U.S. if there are less than nine votes - as the the U.S. would then not have to use its veto - which will further alienate the Arab and Moslem world.
So far, these nations have declared they will vote for a Palestinian state: China, Russia, Brazil, India, Lebanon, South Africa. Now Nigeria and Gabon have just announced they too will vote for a Palestinian state. That makes eight states. The nations that have said they will vote against the UN declaring such a state are the U.S., Britain, France, Germany. That leaves three states: Bosnia, Colombia and Portugal undecided. If the Palestinians can get one of those three to vote for them, they will have the nine votes - a serious blow to the U.S. and Israel, and the Western countries.

When we see these close battles - where one or two votes could change history - we can know there is a fierce battle in the heavenlies. And we are commanded of God to stand in the gap. We can have a part in God's purposes by praying His Will be done. And we know in this issue from hundreds of Bible verses that God has given this land to Israel.

Please pray specifically that Bosnia, Colombia and Portugal will NOT vote for a Palestinian state.
This is not only a serious issue for the West and for Israel. There have been prophetic voices saying that the nations that vote AGAINST ISRAEL will go into deeper economic problems and chaos in their countries. Those who vote FOR ISRAEL will have some economic problems, but will then, by the grace of God, pull out of it.

No one knows when the vote will take place in the Security Council. It could be a matter of days or weeks.

PLEASE PRAY,

Thank you
Shalom and Blessings,

DC40 LAUNCHED ON MONDAY IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
. . . 40 DAYS OF WORSHIP IN OUR NATION'S CAPITAL AND ACROSS THE LAND!

[To learn how you can be involved in DC40, please visit their website at: www.DC40.net]
A nation will arise as one to release reformation intercession for 51 days. Beginning on October 3 with Hawaii, the last state to enter the Union, each state will stand shoulder-to-shoulder and pray as the state of Hawaii is point man for the day.

The other 49, with spiritual shields locked together, will pray with Hawaii for our nation's capital to be eternally reformed. On that day we will also pray for the state of Hawaii to step into the fullness of her destiny, and for the full release of the redemptive gifts she carries to be woven into the fabric of our nation in an even greater measure than before.

On October 4, it will be Alaska's turn to take the point position of leading intercession in releasing the power of eternal light over our nation's capital, with the strength of the other 49 standing as one alongside her.

And so we will move - each state taking its turn front-and-center, in reverse order of its entry to the Union, affecting eternal change in our nation's capital, so that our elected officials can govern from a new position of non-compromising light and understanding, as we change the spiritual atmosphere over Washington DC forever.

We have released a 51-day prayer directive to help us harmonize our intercession; this will be available for download on our website, www.DC40.net

Bless you,
James Nesbit

The Daily Brief

1. Iran Pastor Refuses To 'Abandon' Christ; Execution Perhaps "Thursday"

A young pastor of Iran's largest house church movement has told an Iranian court he will not "recant" his faith in Christ despite facing execution as early as Thursday, September 29, for abandoning Islam, church sources said.

White House Condemns Conviction of Iranian Pastor
- Fox News

U.S. says executing pastor who won't renounce Christian faith would show 'utter disregard' for religious freedom.

- God, we trust You to protect this dear man of God and may his light shine brighter and brighter that reflects the glory of Jesus, our Savior. In Jesus' Name.

- "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts."
(II Peter 1:19)

2. World Stock Markets Rattled by Europe Debt Crisis
- NewsMax

World stock markets remained volatile Monday as investors grew increasingly convinced that Greece would default on its debts, an event that economists say has the potential to worsen a global downturn.

- God, we cry out to You to protect the world stock markets and hold back the powers of darkness that would bring in the new world order before its time. Control the global economy and fit everything into Your time scale, so that the works of man will be thwarted and become weaker until the appointed time of our God. In Jesus' Name.

- "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ."
(II Thessalonians 1:7-8)

3. Alabama cheers ruling on immigration law
- Washington Times

A federal judge on Wednesday said Alabama law enforcement officers can try to check the immigration status of those they suspect are in the country illegally, but blocked other parts of the state's new crackdown law, which is the toughest in the country.

- God, we ask that You accompany this federal judge in all his rulings, and that You give him a heart to follow the Lord's dictates. God, protect America from militant terrorist-minded immigrants who come here to destroy our country. May this become a battle that will be led by the Lord. Let no force from hell prevail. Push our enemies out to sea that they cannot have access or entrance to our land. In Jesus' Name.

- "And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness."
(Isaiah 5:15-16)

4. 26 states file Supreme Court health care appeal
- Washington Times

States and a business group opposed to Obama's health care overhaul asked the Supreme Court on Wednesday for a speedy ruling that puts an end to the law aimed at extending insurance coverage to more than 30 million people.

- Father in heaven, it was You who turned this health care bill to sawdust many months ago, and it is You who declared its defeat. All the activity around it since then has been the enemy's fight to keep alive what was destroyed by the God of heaven. Now we declare with the authority given us by our God, this bill is forever defeated and nothing done by man can resurrect it. It is a dead issue. In Jesus' Name.

- "For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away: but the Word of the Lord endures forever."
(I Peter 1:24-25)

5. Massachusetts Man Plotted to Blow Up Pentagon, U.S. Capitol Using Model Plane, Feds Say
- Fox News

A 26-year-old Massachusetts man was arrested Wednesday and accused of plotting to blow up the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol using large remote-controlled aircraft laden with explosives, as well as attempting to assist Al Qaeda in attacking U.S. troops overseas.

- God, we ask that this man be stopped forever by those in authority who have arrested him. May any others who were working with him also be arrested and the entire ring be brought down. Reveal the trail of their plans and uncover that which was aimed at our destruction. We call forth continual protection of angels over the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol and our country. In Jesus' Name.

- "No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me, says the Lord."
(Isaiah 54:17)

The Daily Jot

DOJ: Islamic Terrorist not reflective of a particular culture or religion

The current Administration has issued warnings that the biggest terrorist threat to the nation is now home grown terrorists. The Administration has released a series of videos "See Something, Say Something" that encourage Americans to be suspicious of one another. Of course, the videos depict the terrorists as white and those reporting the terrorists as black. In April 2009, Homeland Security sent a report out to local law enforcement fingering "rightwing extremist radicalization" as the most dire threat. Included in that group were Christians who believed in the Bible's end time prophecies, returning Iraq and Afghanistan war vets, and conservative political groups. Now the FBI has arrested a home grown terrorist.

This terrorist, however, was not a rightwing, Christian, TEA Party, National Rifle Association card carrying veteran. He was representative of the real terrorist threat to America--Islam. The FBI foiled an attempt by Islamist Rezwan Ferdaus, a US citizen from Massachusetts, to blow up the Capital and the Pentagon. The FBI says Ferdaus planned to pack large model planes with C4 explosives and remotely fly them into the buildings in Washington, DC. Ferdaus, according to officials, told officials repeatedly that he wanted to conduct Jihad against Americans which he called "enemies of Allah." He thought he was buying 25 pounds of plastic explosives from al Qaeda operatives, who in reality were FBI agents.

According to the Justice Department, "Ferdaus, a Northeastern University graduate with a degree in physics, began planning to commit a violent "jihad" against the U.S. in early 2010. He obtained mobile phones, each of which he modified to act as an electrical switch for an IED. He then supplied the phones to FBI UCs, who he believed to be members of, or recruiters for, al Qaeda....Ferdaus believed that the devices would be used to kill American soldiers overseas. During a June 2011 meeting, he appeared gratified when he was told that his first phone detonation device had killed three U.S. soldiers and injured four or five others in Iraq. Ferdaus responded, "That was exactly what I wanted."

The mainstream media is only reporting that Ferdaus is a "self-radicalized jihadist." Even U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz went out of the way to downplay that Ferdaus is Islamic saying, "I want the public to understand that Mr. Ferdaus' conduct, as alleged in the complaint, is not reflective of a particular culture, community or religion." Jeremiah 51:14 says, "Surely I will fill thee with men, as with locusts; and they shall lift up a battle cry against thee." Locust here means "devourer" and was sometimes a term that defined the nomadic Arab. So long as we ignore the root of these terrorists, we will be tormented by them. You can bet if it were a Christian who was caught, his religion would have been all over the media.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

UPDATE: IRANIAN PASTOR

Outcome Now Uncertain on His Death Sentence
White House Issues a Press Release

The White House condemned the conviction and possible death sentence for an Iranian pastor who refuses to renounce his Christian faith on Thursday, saying the execution would further demonstrate Iranian authorities "utter disregard" for religious freedom.

"Pastor Nadarkhani has done nothing more than maintain his devout faith, which is a universal right for all people," the statement released by the White House read. "That the Iranian authorities would try to force him to renounce that faith violates the religious values they claim to defend, crosses all bounds of decency, and breaches Iran's own international obligations. A decision to impose the death penalty would further demonstrate the Iranian authorities' utter disregard for religious freedom, and highlight Iran's continuing violation of the universal rights of its citizens. We call upon the Iranian authorities to release Pastor Nadarkhani, and demonstrate a commitment to basic, universal human rights, including freedom of religion."

Attorney Mohammad Ali Dadkhah told The Associated Press on Thursday that his client has appeared before the appeals court over the past four days and expects a ruling by the end of next week. Dadkhah said he believes there's a "95 percent chance" of acquittal for Nadarkhani.

Dadkhah said neither Iranian law nor clerics have ever stipulated the death penalty as punishment for converting from Islam to Christianity.
Elise Auerbach, an Iranian analyst for Amnesty International USA, told FoxNews.com that an execution for apostasy has not been carried out in Iran since 1990. Naderkhani's sentence is a "clear violation of international law," she said. "The key is to keep up the pressure and to publicize the story because it obviously outrages most people," Auerbach said. "It's part of the pattern of persecution based on religion in Iran."

Kiri Kankhwende, a spokeswoman for Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a human rights organization that specializes in religious freedom, told FoxNews.com that Naderkhani was asked for the fourth time to renounce his faith during a hearing early Wednesday and he denied that request. "We're waiting to hear the final outcome," she told FoxNews.com. "We're still waiting to hear what they've decided." Kankhwende said Naderkhani could be executed Wednesday or Thursday. "Iran is unpredictable," she said. "We can't say when it might happen. It's a very real threat, but we can't say when exactly." Officials at the U.S. State Department declined to comment when reached on Wednesday. Attempts to reach his attorney, Mohammed Ali Dadkhah, were not successful.

House Speaker John Boehner said Naderkhani's case is "distressing for people of every country and creed," according to a statement released on Wednesday. "While Iran's government claims to promote tolerance, it continues to imprison many of its people because of their faith," the statement read. "This goes beyond the law to an issue of fundamental respect for human dignity. I urge Iran's leaders to abandon this dark path, spare [Naderkhani's] life, and grant him a full and unconditional release." (Fox News) Read more.

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners has released a prayer strategy for the release of Pastor Naderkhani. You can access that prayer strategy by visiting our blog: chpponline.blogspot.com

We continue to pray for Pastor Naderkhani's release, and for supernatural grace and strength to be with his wife and their two children as they await this news.

Obama's State Department Hits Israel Again

The housing authority in Jerusalem just took another step forward in the approval process to build new housing units. No big deal, right? Wrong! Obama's State Department bureaucrats immediately issued a statement condemning Israel for this provocation, calling it a threat to the peace process.
Why? Because the Palestinians want East Jerusalem as their new capital, and they intend to have it as a "Jew-free" zone. Thus new homes for Israeli Jews become a threat to peace. Here's an idea: Instead of Obama and the State Department's "ethnic cleansing crowd" focusing on whether Israel should build homes, they should examine the agenda of the likely leaders of a new Palestinian state. That agenda isn't about a "Jew-free" East Jerusalem. It is about a Jew-free Middle East!

Just a few days ago, Abbas Zaki, a member of the Fatah Central Committee, told Al-Jazeera this about the preferred strategy to accomplish their ultimate goal: "The settlement [with Israel] should be based upon the borders of June 4, 1967. When we say that the settlement should be based upon these borders, President [Abbas] understands, we understand, and everybody knows that the greater goal cannot be accomplished in one go. If Israel withdraws from Jerusalem, evacuates the 650,000 settlers, and dismantles the wall -- what will become of Israel? It will come to an end. If we say that we want to wipe Israel out . . . C'mon, it's too difficult. It's not [acceptable] policy to say so. Don't say these things to the world. Keep it to yourself."

(Many thanks to the great research group MEMRI for this quote.) I am still waiting for someone in the Obama Administration to condemn Zaki's call for a second Holocaust. (Gary Bauer)

Turkey's Diplomatic War on Israel

Turkey's prime minister has called for United Nations sanctions on Israel at the same time that Turkish prosecutors are threatening to indict Israel's prime minister and others in connection with the 2010 Mavi Marmara flotilla raid. Coupled with other aggressive moves, including threats to break Israel's Gaza blockade with military force, Turkey is waging a diplomatic war on its former ally.

Leading the charge is Turkey's Islamist Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan, who has become one of Israel's most outspoken critics on the international stage. ErdoÄŸan has repeatedly attempted to humiliate and isolate Israel internationally, while forging military and intelligence ties with nations sponsoring terrorism against the Jewish state.

On Monday, ErdoÄŸan told Time Magazine that "Israel's cruelty . . . cannot be continued any longer," before calling for U.N. sanctions. Without an Israeli apology over the May 2010 flotilla raid, "the relations between the two countries will never become normalized," he said.

Turkish prosecutors also compiled a list of 174 Israelis, topped by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, and Israeli military officials for possible indictment over the flotilla incident. Although the Turkish government claims that the list was drawn up by the Turkish-based group IHH, which led the flotilla, the Turkish newspaper Sabah claims that Turkey's intelligence agencies were involved. Another Turkish newspaper, Zaman, even claimed that Turkish intelligence agents had operated inside of Israel to discover the identities of those listed.

Israeli officials challenged the list's validity, saying the names "were rather recycled from previous lists that were published on anti-Israeli websites following Operation Cast Lead" in reference to the December 2008 incursion into Gaza to take out Hamas missile capabilities. Military officials added the report is part of a psychological warfare conducted by Turkey. (The Investigative Terror Report) Read more.

URGENT!! U.N. VOTE MAY BE IMMINENT!

This just in . . . from the Jerusalem Prayer Team:

UN Security Council on Brink of Approving Palestinian Statehood

The Palestinians have announced that they have the support of eight members of the UN Security Council-only one short of the nine required for the measure to be approved. This news comes as a great disappointment to Israeli leaders who had lobbied heavily to keep Nigeria and Gabon from voting for the creation of a Palestinian state. My sources in Israel had expected those nations to at least abstain if not vote against the measure.

Though the US has promised to veto the measure if it passes, the fear is that such an action would unleash a torrent of terrorist activity against Israel . . . and possibly the United States as well. Bosnia and Herzgovina along with Columbia are the two remaining undecided members of the Security Council. If either of them chooses to vote for the resolution, a harvest of death and destruction will almost certainly result. Will you join me right now in urgent prayer for the peace of Jerusalem and the protection of Israel? Our support of God's Chosen People has never been more important than it is right now.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,
Dr. Michael Evans

The Daily Brief - Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011

"Our help is in the Name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 124:8)

The Daily Brief

1. Goldman Sachs rules the world: UK trader - Business Day

A financial trader in London caused a storm of outrage by suggesting that world leaders cannot do anything to prevent a global market collapse, saying that investment bank Goldman Sachs ruled the world.

- God, we pray that the world leaders, Goldman Sachs and all the world population will be drawn to the eternal fact that the Lord God in heaven reigns over all the kingdoms of the earth with supreme authority. Man can never rise above the truth that it was God who created all things, the world, the heavens, every galaxy, including man himself. We ask that the mighty God will remind man of Your kingdom rulership. In Jesus' great Name.

- "But they know not the thoughts of the Lord, neither understand they His counsel and guidance." (Micah 4:12)

2. Germany slams 'stupid' US plans to boost EU rescue fund - The Telegraph

Germany and America were on a collision course on Tuesday night over the handling of Europe's debt crisis after Berlin savaged plans to boost the EU rescue fund as a "stupid idea" and told the White House to sort out its own mess before giving gratuitous advice to others.

- God, send angels to be in the next meeting of the G20 nations and guide their thoughts, their plans, their decisions to fulfill Your eternal purposes for this critical hour. God is all knowledgeable and we depend on the prophetic Word of God to be adhered to in all aspects of our world economy. May God's purposes be lived out by all men everywhere for it is God who is over all the earth. In Jesus' Name.

- "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endures forever." (Psalm 111:10)

3. Informant helped smuggle guns to Mexico, investigators say - Los Angeles Times

Holder has said he learned of Fast and Furious after it was shut down, and did not know that ATF agents allowed more than 2,000 weapons to be illegally purchased in the Phoenix area. Many turned up at violent crime scenes in Mexico; two were recovered in December after a U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed in Arizona.

- God, we pray that the Holy Spirit will sweep over our southern border and bring revival to that people, where they will begin to call out to the Lord for help and they be saved from this utter chaos and destruction. Stir up their hearts to desire God and God only. Bind the evil spirits' control over that area under the blood of Jesus and nullify this violence under the mighty hand of our God. In Jesus' Name.

- "For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things." (Philippians 3:18-19)

4. Death Toll Rises to 13 in Listeria Outbreak, the Deadliest in a Decade - Fox News

Health officials say as many as 16 people have died from possible listeria illnesses traced to Colorado cantaloupes, the deadliest food outbreak in more than a decade. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday that 72 illnesses, including 13 deaths, are linked to the tainted fruit. State and local officials say they are investigating three additional deaths that may be connected.

- Father, we ask for mercy regarding the people affected by this deadly illness and pray Your presence be upon the people to cry out to the Lord to save their souls and deliver them from this dreadful outbreak. This is an invasion of sudden death and we pray for repentance from sin that they be spared. In Jesus' Name.

- "Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself. So will not we go back from You: quicken us, and we will call upon Your Name. Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause Your face to shine; and we shall be saved." (Psalm 80:17-19)

5. France: Iran risks attack if it continues to develop nuclear program - Haaretz

The French envoy to the UN warned Iran on Tuesday that it risks a military strike if it continues to develop its nuclear program. Ambassador Gerard Araud said in New York that "If we don't succeed today to reach a negotiation with the Iranians, there is a strong risk of military action," AFP reported. The strike, he said, "would be a very complicated operation. It would have disastrous consequences in the region . . all the Arab countries are extremely worried about what is happening."

- God, we ask that Your powerful intervention will shake and tremble Iran's nuclear program and bring it to the ground. They are up front and determined to start an end-time war by converging upon Israel. Dethrone the forces of darkness and the evil intention of those who are deceived thereby. Release angels from heaven to go into the enemy's camp and scatter the works of those who have given themselves over to the spirit of death. Deliver them and stay their hand by the blood of Jesus. In Jesus' Name.

- "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Luke 10:19)

When suspending elections is no longer conspiracy theory

In the political circles there have been rumors and theories that the current regime in the White House may not recognize elections and try to remain in office without the people's consent. Often there are stories circulating the internet predicting the president will declare martial law and suspend the elections over some national emergency. Judy McLeod, an award winning journalist for the Canadian Free Press, reported September 28, " Seeing Obama golfing, holidaying and seeming not overly concerned about tanking in the polls, freedom lovers have been waiting almost three years now for the other shoe to drop. They know at heart that for a Marxist ideologue like Obama, the strategy of suspending elections fits."

The mere suggestion of such conjures visions of a third world banana republic having a dictator calling himself "president" for life--kind of like Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. The US Constitution would not allow such an act. But McLeod and others point out that the current occupier of the Oval Office has skirted the Constitution on many occasions. Certainly, ignoring the law has become a presidential precedent in this White House--refusing to issue permits for off shore drilling, selling assault weapons to Mexican drug cartel thugs, not enforcing the Defense of Marriage Act, giving taxpayer money to fund solar energy companies that contributed to the president's campaign--just to name a few.

But what gives McLeod's commentary legs is the proclamation by North Carolina Democratic Governor Bev Perdue speaking to the Cary Rotary Club: "You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that...You want people who don't worry about the next election." Her office later issued a statement that she was "obviously using hyperbole", but witnesses say Perdue's tone was quite serious.

Beltway Confidential reports September 14, the president told a hispanic group, "There are times where--until Nancy Pelosi is speaker again--I'd like to work my way around Congress...we've got laws on the books that have to be upheld. You know as well as anyone that...how we enforce those laws is also important." You have a president saying that he wants to work around Congress, enforce the laws the way he sees fit, and a prominent Democratic governor floating the trial balloon that elections ought to be suspended. Jesus said in Matthew 12:34, "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." As citizens, we ought to get to the heart of the matter.

"Our Worst Nightmare"

Months ago, Obama relied on NATO to liberate Libya from Col. Qadhafi. It was a confused effort that resulted in various NATO members dropping out of the Libyan campaign. Then Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said, "This command-and-control business is complicated, and we haven't done something like this kind of 'on-the-fly' before." Now we're learning what Obama's "on-the-fly" foreign policy has gotten us.

We all knew that Qadhafi's Libya was not an oasis of liberty. But conservatives and others warned that while we had no idea who would replace him, we did know that many of the Libyan rebels were sympathetic to Al Qaeda. Now ABC News reports that as many as 20,000 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles are missing in Libya -- a scenario even left-coast liberal Barbara Boxer (D-CA) described as "Our worst nightmare."

Have these missiles fallen into the hands of Al Qaeda terrorists? We don't know. ABC reports that coalition forces are desperately trying to secure Libya's borders as the White House scrambles to get a handle on the situation. The CIA and State Department are blaming each other for failing to secure these weapons. Meanwhile, Sen. Boxer is introducing legislation to equip 500 American passenger jets with anti-missile devices.

So how did that Libyan operation turn out? (Gary Bauer)

- Pray that these missiles are located and secured.

- "For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open." (Mark 4:22)

Marriage Amendment Trial Videos to Remain Sealed--For Now

Summary: Videos could jeopardize pro-marriage witnesses.

Late Monday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals placed a hold on an order issued earlier this month that would have allowed video of the trial over California's marriage-protection law to be made public by Sept. 30.

Now-retired U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker made the videos while hearing the case in 2010. Though he said at the time they were for his own personal use -- to better review evidence -- he later showed segments to a group of college students during a lecture, which was recorded and broadcast to a national audience on C-SPAN.

On Sept. 19, Chief U.S. District Judge James Ware ruled there was no compelling reason to keep the videos private, and he would release them to the public by Sept. 30 unless a higher court intervened.

Charles Cooper, who is representing ProtectMarriage.com -- the coalition of churches, ministries and pro-family groups that put the proposal on the 2008 ballot -- said during his Sept. 23 appeal to the 9th that unsealing the videos would subject witnesses to "a serious and well-substantiated risk of harassment" from gay activists. And that could keep them from testifying again as the case moves along.

The stay will remain in place while the justices consider issuing a longer one while the case is under way. (Source: CitizenLink)

Terrorist Designation of HAMAS Operative Muhammad Hisham Muhammad Isma'il Abu Ghazala

The State Department has designated Muhammad Hisham Muhammad Isma'il Abu Ghazala under E.O. 13224, which targets terrorists and those providing support to terrorists or acts of terrorism. This action will help stem the flow of finances to Abu Ghazala by prohibiting U.S. persons from engaging in transactions with him and freezing any assets he may have under U.S. jurisdiction. Abu Ghazala is a HAMAS operative. In addition to his involvement with HAMAS, he has links to Iran, the world's leading State Sponsor of Terrorism, and al-Qa'ida. He is an improvised explosive device (IED) facilitator with connections to multiple IED networks throughout northern Iraq and is also responsible for disseminating numerous remote detonation device designs used by former regime elements and terror organizations in Iraq. He has worked with rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Plot to Attack Quantico Foiled

Recordings Show Carolina Man Plotting Quantico Attack

A North Carolina man discussed his plan to attack the U.S. Marine Corps base at Quantico, Va. with an FBI informant, audio tapes played in court Wednesday revealed. FBI informant Abdullah Eddarkoui told a New Bern, N.C. jury that Daniel Patrick Boyd spoke every day about "jihad and fighting." "I did some preliminary reconnaissance [at Quantico], and what I saw was amazing," Boyd said in one recording. "I saw the residences of all their commanding officers." Boyd, the ringleader of a North Carolina-based terrorist cell, pleaded guilty Feb. 9 to conspiring to murder, kidnap and maim individuals in a foreign country and to a charge of material support to terrorists. Boyd, along with six others, was arrested in 2009 and charged with conspiring to wage jihad abroad. A superseding indictment charged Boyd, his son Zakariya and Hysen Sherifi with plotting to kill U.S. military personnel at Quantico. (The Investigative Terror Project) Read more.

Threat from African Islamist Groups

African Islamist groups seen as U.S. threat

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Three African Islamist groups threatening to target Westerners have begun to cooperate among themselves, a "very worrying" trend that raises concern of a network stretching from Algeria to Nigeria, the top U.S. general for Africa said. Other U.S. defence officials, speaking separately on condition of anonymity, agreed the African Islamist groups cooperate in sometimes alarming ways but played down the likelihood of an overarching grand alliance. General Carter Ham, the head of U.S. military's Africa Command, said three African Islamist groups posed a threat to U.S. and Western interests: Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, with roots in Algeria; al Shabaab, centred in Somalia; and Boko Haram, in Nigeria . . . Study: Change Is Possible for Homosexuals

Summary: Peer-reviewed scientific journal contradicts prevailing school of thought.

For the first time in a decade, a study showing sexual orientation change is possible for some homosexuals has been published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.

The October issue of the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy contains a longitudinal study of Christians seeking help from ministries associated with Exodus International for their unwanted same-sex attractions. Of the 98 subjects, more than half were reported as successful; 23 percent reported a complete change in orientation after six years. Also, 20 percent reported giving up the struggle to change.

Dr. Stanton Jones, a psychologist at Wheaton College in Illinois and the study's lead author, said the opportunity to study sexual orientation change was too intriguing to pass up.

"At the time, the American Psychological Association (APA) prominently on its web page said sexual orientation could not be changed," he said. "Very few people were looking into it."

In 2007, Jones and his colleague, Dr. Mark Yarhouse of Regent University, published their three-year findings of the group in a book (Ex-Gays? A Longitudinal Study of Religiously Mediated Change in Sexual Orientation, InterVarsity Press). It was rejected by peer-reviewed scientific journals for not following subjects long enough or tracking changes as they occurred -- valid concerns the authors addressed in their latest work.

However, the APA also excoriated the authors for not using a laboratory model with a control group -- and said in 2009 that the findings were "unpersuasive."

That, said Jones, is not a valid concern.

"All methodologies have drawbacks," he said. "The more rigorous you get, the further removed you get from real life. We followed more of a real-life model than a hyper-controlled experimental model. We think the results challenge the reigning mindset that change is impossible or is extraordinarily rare.

"It is a bit frustrating to me to see APA saying research shows it is impossible or rarely happens when in my mind, no such research exists," he continued. "When anecdotes that people have changed are treated with cynicism, it's fueled by the anecdotes of people who've had the opposite experience. To say (change is) impossible is an overstatement of the facts, in our opinion."

Jones said the fact that the subjects were all Christians with strong convictions about moral behavior most likely played a pivotal role in helping the successful ones change their orientation.

"We were trying to address the basic question 'Is change possible?' The fact that anyone changed is what came out of this study," he said. (CitizenLink)

The Daily Brief

1. 20,000 Heat-Seeking Missiles Reportedly Feared Missing From Libyan Warehouse - Fox News

A recent secret White House meeting revealed that an estimated 20,000 portable, heat-seeking missiles appear to have vanished from an Army warehouse in Libya.

The new revelations stoke ongoing fears that such weapons, which are light, relatively easy to use and have the capacity to take down a commercial airplane, could end up in the wrong hands as the Libyan war that ousted Muammar Qaddafi winds down.

- Lord, we pray these weapons are quickly located. If they are already in the wrong hands, we pray You intervene and get these weapons back to safety.

- "He is a shield that helps you and a sword that wins your victories. Your enemies will come crawling to you, and you will stomp on their backs." (Deuteronomy 33:29)

2. Typhoon kills 16 in Philippines, floods Manila - MSNBC News

Downtown areas along Manila Bay saw their worst flooding in decades as a powerful typhoon dumped rain and sent surging waves as tall as palm trees crashing over sea walls.

At least 16 people were killed, most of them in metropolitan Manila, which already was soaked by heavy monsoon rains ahead of Typhoon Nesat's arrival.

- Father, we pray mercy and grace over the Philippines. Bring help to the people. Show them your love and compassion, and may many be saved and turn to You, Lord.

- "Don't you realize that it is God's kindness that is trying to lead you to him and change the way you think and act?" (Romans 2:4)

3. U.S. Calls Israeli New Settlement Plans Disappointing - Fox News

The United States is expressing deep disappointment in Israel's plans to build 1,100 new housing units in occupied east Jerusalem.

Department spokesman Victoria Nuland also called the announcement counterproductive to efforts to restart direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians. The criticism Tuesday was matched by the European Union's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton who called on Israel to reverse the decision.

- Father, give wisdom to Israel's leaders as they continue their building projects. Give them favor, bless their efforts, and all they put their hands to.

- "You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. You will be blessed when you come and blessed when you go." (Deuteronomy 28:3,6)

4. NASA - Sunspot 1302: It's Big. It's Bad. And It's Coming Our Way - NASA

Sunspot 1302 has already produced two X-flares (X1.4 on Sept. 22nd and X1.9 on Sept. 24th). Each of the dark cores in this image from SDO is larger than Earth, and the entire active region stretches more than 100,000 km from end to end. The sunspot's magnetic field is currently crackling with sub-X-class flares that could grow into larger eruptions as the sunspot continues to turn toward Earth. (Read more)

- Updated information from NASA states that this CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) has now settled down, but we ask continued prayers for the safety of all of our satellites and other communications networks during this event. Offer praise for NASA . .. they are on the job!

- "I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below . . ." (Acts 2:19)

5. NASA To Make Announcement On Near-Earth Asteroids - Irish Weather Online

NASA says it will hold a news conference at 1 p.m. EDT (6 p.m. GMT) on Thursday to reveal near-Earth asteroid findings and implications for future research. The briefing will take place at NASA Headquarters in Washington. The conference takes place on the same week that a 13-metre-wide asteroid, named SE58, passed within 0.6 Lunar Distances of Planet Earth. SE58′s approach occurred in the early hours of Tuesday 27 September 2011. (Read more)

- With all the signs in the heavens these days, we can expect to be hearing more and more from NASA. Again, offer praise that this latest asteroid missed earth, and offer prayer that any future asteroids will be detected by NASA and dealt with, by all means necessary. Pray!

- "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22,23)

6. Health reform lawsuit appears headed for Supreme Court - POLITICO

The Obama administration chose not to ask the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to re-hear a pivotal health reform case Monday, signaling that it's going to ask the Supreme Court to decide whether Obama's health reform law is constitutional. The move puts the Supreme Court in the difficult position of having to decide whether to take the highly politically charged case in the middle of the presidential election. (Read more)

- Begin to offer prayer now for this critical case that will come before the Supreme Court sometime during its next session, which begins next week. We are a nation under law -- the law of the Constitution -- and all other laws must be weighed against that foundation. Pray for a just and a fair ruling to come forth when this case is weighed. Pray!

6. Erdogan: UN sanctions on Israel could aid Mideast peace process - Haaretz

7. Shapiro: US opposes preconditions to peace talks - Jerusalem Post

Washington does not agree that a settlement building freeze should be a precondition to the renewal of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, United States Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro said Tuesday morning in an interview with Army Radio. He said that "the US has had the same policy for the past 40 years - against building settlements in the West Bank." However, he stressed that the US believes that direct talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, without preconditions, are the only way to resolve the conflict.

8. Dead sea scrolls published online - The Australian

The scrolls include the biblical Book of Isaiah, the manuscript known as the Temple Scroll, and three others. Web surfers can search high-resolution images of the scrolls for specific passages, zoom in and out, and translate verses into English. (Read more.)

The Daily Jot

Palestinian state: not about peace, but rather war

The true colors of the "Palestinian" leadership were exposed moments before petitioning the United Nations for unilateral recognition as an official nation. The President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas told some 200 senior representatives of the US Palestinian community on Friday, September 23, "They talk to us about the Jewish state, but I respond to them with a final answer: We shall not recognize a Jewish state." Within hours, Abbas petitioned the United Nations to recognize as an official nation Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital. So we have the president of terrorist organizations demanding the UN recognize their state while at the same time refusing to recognize Israel.

Abbas also said that "Our people will continue their popular, peaceful resistance." This should leave anyone with any sense at all questioning Abbas' definition of "peaceful." Peaceful to Abbas and his terrorist supporters (Hamas is the main group within the PA political structure, Fatah another group--both are terrorist organizations) must mean something different than what is written in the dictionary. Rockets firing at Israeli households; brutal murder of Jewish families; suicide bombers; and destructive and violent riots. Egypt announced September 26 that it had seized eight anti-aircraft missiles and four shoulder launchers destined for Gaza. This is Abbas' "popular, peaceful resistance"?

The only conclusion that a sane person can draw from the action of these terrorist groups dressed as diplomats before the UN is that the Peace of Islam is a far cry from anybody else's definition of peace. The "peace" of the Palestinian Authority is the annihilation of Israel and bringing all peoples of that region under submission to Islam. The Americans and Europeans championing a Palestinian state are delusional that dividing Jerusalem and Israel into two pieces (Israel would be split from East to West by a ribbon of land from Gaza to Jordan and Samaria under the current plan) would bring about peace. It is a recipe for war and destruction.

There is a clear prophecy in Zechariah 12:3 saying, "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." This prophecy is specifically speaking of the Day of the Lord. We are not there yet. But as like birth pangs, where the pain comes stronger each time until the birth, prophecy can be witnessed in types and shadows the closer it comes to fulfillment. The nations gathered against Jerusalem wish to divide her into pieces shared by Jews, Christians and Islamists. The prophecy specifically says these nations will be cut in pieces. In this, there is no peace.

Religious Exemptions Under Fire in Health Care Coverage

Summary: Proposed rule threatens religious liberty; public comment period ends Friday.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) wraps up a public comment period Friday on a new interim rule requiring nearly all private health plans to cover contraception, sterilization and possible abortifacients as free "preventive" care for women. If the rule is adopted, insurers would be forced to cover all methods approved by the Food and Drug Administration -- including so-called emergency contraception pills -- and individuals who object to them on moral and religious grounds would be forced to subsidize them.

In August, the National Association to Repeal Abortion Laws sent out a call to action, and last week, the National Organization for Women (NOW) sent another, saying there should be no loopholes at all.

"Opponents of women's access to contraception have stepped up pressure on (HHS) to expand an exemption allowing some religious institutions to deny birth control insurance coverage to their employees," NOW wrote. "This exemption should not have been included in the HHS rules in the first place."

The way the rule is written, however, has led many religious groups to say the exemption is so narrow as to be completely useless: The only "religious institutions" that would not be forced to cover contraceptives and sterilization are those employing and serving only members of their own denominations -- churches. Every other ministry would have to comply.

"The proposed exemption (limits) its application to employers who do little (or nothing) but preach to the convinced," three members of the Witherspoon Task Force on Conscience Protection wrote yesterday in The Public Discourse. "Recent history demonstrates that many religious employers will exit from the marketplace rather than abandon their mission to offer faithful witness in the course of providing service. Those behind the new regulations must be willing to accept this effect, and perhaps even desire it.

"This is revolutionary. Never before in American history has any administration -- state or federal -- been so willing to force religious institutions out of business."

CitizenLink Senior Director for Issues Analysis Carrie Gordon Earll said it's important for everyone to make their thoughts known on the issue -- even though the Obama administration will make the final call on whether to change the rule.

"This is one opportunity people have to easily be on the record," she said. "This is an example of why elections matter."

TAKE ACTI0N: HHS is accepting public comment on this topic through Friday. Weigh in on this important issue. Go here.

Three talking points you might want to include:

Your opposition to mandatory contraceptive coverage, including possible abortifacient drugs, in all health plans;

Your desire to see the current narrow religious exemption language broadened to include religiously affiliated institutions such as hospitals and schools, as well as nonprofit organizations with a mission to oppose abortion and people with moral or ethical views opposing abortion;

The fact that as presented, this interim final rule poses an unprecedented threat to religious freedom; and an expanded religious exemption is a step toward protecting religious liberty.

Gallup: Americans Hugely Dissatisfied with Government

Summary: Record-high 81 percent say nation's headed in the wrong direction.

A Gallup poll released Monday shows that, for the first time in history, majorities of both Republicans and Democrats are unhappy with the way the federal government is handling its business.

According to the annual Governance survey of 1,017 adults, updated Sept. 8-11, 65 percent of Democrats and 92 percent of Republicans are unhappy now after a decade of growing discontent. By comparison, only 37 to 39 percent reported being dissatisfied between the early 1980s and 2003. From 2004 on, dissatisfaction began to grow -- from 44 percent in 2004 to 72 percent in 2009.

The poll also revealed that public confidence to be at all-time lows across several fronts:

- 57 percent of Americans don't trust the government to handle domestic problems;
- 55 percent have little or no confidence in public officials;
- 69 percent don't think Congress is able to do its job, and most believe the federal government wastes 51 cents of every dollar; and
- 49 percent say the federal government has become so powerful it threatens individuals' rights and freedoms. By comparison, less than 30 percent of respondents said this in 2003.

The poll has a sampling error of +/- 4 percent.

About Rosh Hashanah

The name Rosh Hashanah means "beginning of the year" or "head of the year." This celebration marks the beginning of the High Holy Days on the Jewish calendar. The Bible refers to Rosh Hashanah as the Feast of Trumpets, and it begins the Ten Days of Awe that conclude with Yom Kippur-the Day of Atonement. This is a wonderful time to seek the Lord, repent for wrongdoing, and consecrate ourselves to God, thanking Him for His work in our lives.

Special ICEJ TV Presentation

As Israel marks the holiday of Rosh Hashana, also known as the Jewish New Year on the biblical or Hebrew calendar, Jews worldwide take stock of their lives and prepare for entering the coming year with a clean slate before God.

It is also a time for collective reflection as a nation, to assess where the people of Israel are and where they are heading. Each year we sit down with a leading Israeli voice for a candid assessment of where the nation is as it enters the new year.

Take a moment to hear from our special guest Yossi Klein Halevi, a veteran Israeli journalist and scholar who is currently a fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.

Yossi is one of Israel's most articulate commentators with a unique ability to speak for the vast Israeli consensus.
