1. FEMA HOLDS EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM NATIONWIDE TEST ON 11/9/11

At the Federal Communications Commission's June 9, 2011 Agenda meeting, Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau Chief Jamie Barnett, joined by representatives from FEMA and the National Weather Service, announced that the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) would take place at 2:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on November 9, 2011, lasting 3 ½ minutes. The purpose of the test is to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a public alert mechanism. EAS Participants currently participate in state-level monthly tests and local-level weekly tests, but no top-down review of the entire system has ever been undertaken. (Hebrew News Nation)

What does it mean? (Commentary/speculation from The Blaze). Is the first ever national EAS test really a big deal? Probably not. At least, not yet. But there are some troubling factors all coming together right now that could conceivably trigger a real usage of the EAS system in the not too distant future. A European financial collapse could bring down U.S. markets. What is now the "Occupy" movement could lead to widespread civil unrest. And there are ominous signs that radical groups such as Anonymous will attempt something major on November 5th- Guy Fawke's day. Now we know in the event of a major crisis, the American people will be told with one voice, at the same time, about an emergency. All that's left to determine is who will have control of the EAS when that day comes, and what their message will be. Read more.

- Pray that this test will be used in the will of God and not of man. Pray!

- "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:19,20)

2. DO NOT ALLOW OBAMA TO IMPOSE MARTIAL LAW

Some people are predicting that there will be a major economic collapse, caused by unsustainable debts and other government intrusions into private economic matters, and by central banks' excessive money-printing. In America, the Federal Reserve's continued irresponsible and reckless actions will result in further devaluing the currency and huge increases in price inflation, especially in food and energy prices. Some are predicting that there will be food shortages, looting, rioting, and civil unrest and violence in America. There are some people who believe that such events will be followed by President Obama imposing a nationwide martial law. Recent terrorism drills, such as the major drill last week in Denver, are believed to be part of the U.S. government's preparation for either terrorism or false flag events, or part of preparation for planned martial law. Obama was recently in Denver. But the subject of martial law needs to be discussed, because it's important that the people of the U.S. states have an understanding of this before Obama imposes martial law, which is essentially a presidential-military-rule dictatorship. (Conservative Action Alerts) Read more.

- As American citizens, just as it is wisdom to know and to carry our Constitution with us, it is also wisdom to know the plans that might have to be set in place if a national crisis should arise in our land. Be sure to read this article in its entirety, for its contents are quite revealing. Pray that this president, as well as any other future president, will refrain from suspending our Constitution and placing our nation under martial law. PRAY!

- "You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways." (Job 22:28)

3. OBAMA ADMINISTRATION BANS THE TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM AND JIHAD

It has been a long time coming, but the Obama Administration has now officially banned the truth. Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole declared Wednesday at a conference in Washington that he had "recently directed all components of the Department of Justice to re-evaluate their training efforts in a range of areas, from community outreach to national security." This "reevaluation" will remove all references to Islam in connection with any examination of Islamic jihad terror activity. The Obama Administration has now placed off-limits any investigation of the beliefs, motives and goals of jihad terrorists.

Dwight C. Holton, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon, emphasized that training materials for the FBI would be purged of everything politically incorrect: "I want to be perfectly clear about this: training materials that portray Islam as a religion of violence or with a tendency towards violence are wrong, they are offensive, and they are contrary to everything that this president, this attorney general and Department of Justice stands for. They will not be tolerated." (Front Page Magazine) Full report.

- This is starting to sound like life in Nazi Germany in the 1930's. Will book burning be next? Pray that Congress takes immediate action in light of this report, and pray that this policy is overruled. Only the truth about Islam and its jihad agenda will set us free. Pray!

- "Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, But such as keep the law contend with them." (Proverbs 28:4)

4. JUSTICE DEPARTMENT PROPOSES LYING TO HIDE RECORDS

Justice Dept. proposes lying, hiding existence of records under new FOIA rule

A proposed revision to Freedom of Information Act rules would allow federal agencies to lie to citizens and reporters seeking certain records, telling them the records don't exist.

The Justice Department has proposed the change as part of a large revision of FOIA rules for federal agencies. Specifically, the rule would direct government agencies who are denying a request under an established FOIA exemption to "respond to the request as if the excluded records did not exist," rather than citing the relevant exemption.

The proposed rule has alarmed government transparency advocates across the political spectrum, who've called it "Orwellian" and say it will "twist" public access to government. (Daily Caller) Read more.

- Once more, we are back to Nazi Germany -- certainly not the America we know and love. Pray again that this rule, too, is canceled, even as we call forth another congressional investigation of this disturbing report. Hold your position as watchmen on the wall; a lot is stirring now.

- "When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases; but the righteous will see their fall." (Proverbs 29:16)

5. CALLS FOR HOLDER TO RESIGN INCREASING

Attorney General Eric Holder's tenure in the Obama administration may be coming to an end. At least eight members of Congress have now called on Holder to resign over the growing Operation Fast and Furious scandal. Republican Reps. Vicky Hartzler of Missouri, John Mica of Florida, Quico Canseco of Texas and Gus Bilirakis of Florida each told The Daily Caller on Thursday that they believe Holder should step down now. The number of members of Congress calling for Holder to end his career in government because of Fast and Furious is now eight, a number which has doubled in one day. Previously, Republican Reps. Joe Walsh of Illinois, Raul Labrador of Idaho, Blake Farenthold of Texas and Paul Gosar of Arizona called on Holder to resign. A spokesperson for Mica, a powerful congressman who serves on the House oversight committee and chairs the House Transportation Committee, told TheDC that he "thinks Attorney General Holder should resign, for more than just the Fast and Furious operation mishandling."

Hartzler spokesman Steven Walsh said the congresswoman doesn't think Holder is capable of leading the Justice Department after his flimsy May 3 testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. (Daily Caller) Read more.

- Our past two prayer requests regarding recent actions with in the DOJ bear witness to this call to have Holder resign. Offer praise that this chorus of voices for that resignation is increasing and pray that it will go "full force" to the fihish line. Let the corrupt be removed now from office! In His Name, amen!

- "Whoever walks blamelessly will be saved, But he who is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall." (Proverbs 28:18)

6. OBAMA'S CHIEF OF STAFF DECLARES: "RE-EMPHASIZE POWERS WE HAVE!"

If you need more evidence of the kind of campaign we can expect from the Obama White House, consider this Politico interview with White House Chief of Staff Bill Daly.

Daly complained, "It's been a brutal three years. It's been a very, very difficult three years." But as I recently noted, Democrats had huge majorities in both the House and the Senate for Obama's first two years. He got virtually everything he wanted. The few things he didn't get were so radical -- like closing GITMO and cap and trade -- that he couldn't even convince some of his fellow Democrats to go along. But now, Daly reveals, they have a Plan B.

"Let's figure out what we can do [without Congress] and push the envelope on some of these things. On the foreign policy-military side, you can act pretty quickly. That is why the president, based upon frustration, is doing this 'we can't wait.' Let's re-emphasize what powers we have! What we can do on our own! Push the envelope!"

When asked if Obama would be happy being a one-term president, as he has suggested in the past, Daly said, "Nope, no, absolutely not! I think he'd be angry! . . . Unhappy! Frustrated!" (Gary Bauer; edited)

- Father God, we ask You to bind this attitude that Obama has regarding running our government off the tracks, without submitting to the statutes of the Constitution and the three branches of government. We ask You to wake up our leaders all over America to comprehend the fatality of living a life of sin and self-will and attempting to lead our country away from our God-given rights and privileges that we have lived by and loved throughout history. We ask You to draw the hearts of mankind to repent of their evil ways and find Jesus Christ as their personal Savior of their souls so they will spend eternity in heaven, with You. In Jesus' Name we ask this.

- "And therefore will the Lord wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him. He will be very gracious unto you at the voice of your cry; when He shall hear it, He will answer you." (Isaiah 30:18-19)

7. "WE CAN'T WAIT" - OBAMA TO ISSUE ONE EXECUTIVE ORDER PER WEEK TO PUSH HIS AGENDA

With his jobs plan stymied in Congress by Republican opposition, President Obama on Monday will begin a series of executive-branch actions to confront housing, education and other economic problems over the coming months, heralded by a new mantra: "We can't wait" for lawmakers to act.

The "We can't wait" campaign is a new phase in Mr. Obama's so-far unsuccessful effort - punctuated until now by his cries of "Pass this bill!" on the stump - to pressure Republicans to support the job creation package he proposed after Labor Day. It comes after unanimous votes by Senate Republicans in the past week to block the plan; House Republican leaders have refused to put the measure to a vote.

By resorting to executive actions, using his wide-ranging authority to oversee federal laws and agencies, Mr. Obama seems intent on showing that he is not powerless in the face of Republican opposition but is trying to strengthen the economy and help Americans in trouble.

Aides said Mr. Obama would announce at least one initiative each week through the rest of the year, including steps to help returning veterans and small businesses. Yet the officials acknowledge that the coming policy changes, executive orders and agency actions are generally less far-reaching than the legislative proposals now before Congress. (New York Times) Read more.

- God, we ask that Your hand be extended out to stop Obama's evil-inspired abuse of power and rebellion against our American form of government that has stood the test of time for 300 hundred years without fail. Stop him from putting in place the new world order of government that is still preemptive to the timing foreordained in heaven by Almighty God of the universe. God, close the door and lock out any possibility of a weekly executive order being issued. We ask You to humble the heart of this "king" unto repentance, leading to salvation. We ask in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

- "And God shall judge the world in righteousness, He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know Your Name will put their trust in You: for You, Lord, have not forsaken them that seek You." (Psalm 9:8-10)

8. BOEHNER RESPONDS

Yesterday, Speaker of the House John Boehner spoke out against Barack Obama's attempts to end-run Congress using his executive authority. On the Laura Ingraham show, Boehner said:

"I thought we were a nation of laws and that our country was governed by our Constitution. . . .this idea that you are just going to go around the Congress is just, it's almost laughable. And so we are keeping a very close eye on the administration to make sure they are following the law and following the Constitution."

Boehner added that he had "great concerns" that Obama could be violating the Constitution, and the speaker expressed a willingness to use his authority "to limit their use of funds to try to bring this administration to heel." Good for him.

But gird yourselves, my friends. We know this is going to be the most vicious, negative campaign we have seen in years. And yet in the middle of a weak economy and a nasty political campaign, Barack Obama seems intent on instigating a constitutional crisis. (Gary Bauer)

- Father, we cry out for the windows of heaven to open and pour out Your fire of indignation against the sin of lawlessness that is attempting to overtake our government and the Constitutional laws of our land. We lift up Speaker Boehner and those who stand with him in this fight to rescue and to save our republican form of government under our Constitution. Cast down the wicked; raise up the godly; and establish justice in the gates of our land. In Your Name, we pray. Amen.

- " . . . happy is he who keeps the law." (Prov. 29:18b)

9. BACHMANN CRITICIZES OBAMA'S STUDENT LOAN PLAN

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann criticized a directive by President Barack Obama to ease student loan debt as an "abuse of power" that will give people incentive to dodge debt. The candidates reacted Thursday to a decision Obama announced a day earlier to cap required payments for some college loan borrowers at a lower percentage of their income and forgive payments for others after 20 years. He used executive authority to accelerate a law that wasn't supposed to go into effect until 2014.

"I believe it is abuse of power from the executive to impose via an executive order a wholesale change in the student loan," Bachmann, a Minnesota congresswoman, said during an education forum in New York put on by The College Board and News Corp. Appearing by satellite from Minneapolis where she was hosting a fundraiser later Thursday, Bachmann said that the loan breaks could push costs onto other taxpayers. Bachmann said the change creates a "moral hazard" when it comes to student debt. "There is a morality in keeping our financial promises, and I don't think we should push that off onto the taxpayer," she said. "The individual needs to repay and be responsible for repaying their student loan debt." (Conservative Action Alerts) Read more.

- Offer praise for voices of reason that are still in place in governing authority -- voices like that of Michelle Bachmann. Ask that the administration take heed to her wise counsel, and that this "deal" be rescinded quickly.

- ". . . to those who rebuke the wicked will be delight, And a good blessing will come upon them." (Proverbs 24:25)

10. U.S. HOUSE TO VOTE TOMORROW: REAFFIRMING OUR NATIONAL MOTTO

(Washington, DC)-Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04), Co-Chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, announced today that the House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 on, a resolution sponsored by Forbes to reaffirm 'In God We Trust' as the United States' national motto and to encourage its display in public buildings and government institutions.

In January 2011, Congressman Forbes introduced H. Con. Res. 13 to reaffirm 'In God We Trust' as our national motto; the resolution has 64 bipartisan cosponsors and was reported favorably out of the House Judiciary Committee in March 2011. 'In God We Trust' has been our nation's motto for over five decades. It is part of our national anthem and alluded to in our Pledge of Allegiance. It is written on our coins and our currency and is engraved in both the House and the Senate chambers, as well as in numerous public building across our nation. (Congressional Prayer Caucus) Follow the link for more information.

- Pray that this resolution will pass in both the House and in the Senate. Altnough a Congressional Resolution does not have the force of law, it sends a strong message to the American people that indeed, "In God We Trust." Amen.

- "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." (Proverbs 14:34)

11. "SUPER COMMITTEE" CHARGED TO "CUT BIG"

The Government Accounting Office (GAO) says that 1 trillion dollars in savings is NOT sufficient for economic stability. The GAO, an independent auditing arm, report released Monday said the federal government's fiscal outlook has improved, largely because of a hard-fought deal passed by Congress in early August that raised the debt ceiling and set out to identify ways to trim the debt by at least $2.1 trillion. The hard news is that "even this level of deficit reduction is not sufficient to ensure sustainability," says the report.

The aging U.S. population has strained entitlement programs such as Medicare and Social Security, lawmakers must do more to shore up the nation's long-term budget while also being careful not to further weaken the current economy.

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a bipartisan group that advocates for fiscal responsibility, says in a report released Friday that the deficit panel must find savings "two or three times as much" in order to set the country "on a path to sustainable fiscal growth." (Source: Washington Times)

- Ask the Lord to give His wisdom to those who have been set in positions of authority to find cuts in our budget to allow for financial integrity in our economic structure. Ask the Lord to give creative solutions to the problems that need to be addressed and solved. Ask the Lord to help the committee to overcome political prejudice to find the needed solutions.

- "And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ- to the glory and praise of God." (Philippians 1:9-11) [Source: Intercessors for America]

12. SUPREME COURT DECIDING WHETHER TO HEAR OBAMACARE CASE

The Supreme Court Justices are now reviewing our petition requesting a review of the ruling of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals on our lawsuit against the so-called Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly known as ObamaCare. According to our sources, the petitions requesting a ruling by the Supreme Court on ObamaCare were distributed to the Justices' chambers yesterday (October 26, 2011)

The Justices will review each petition and then convene in a closed-door session on November 10 to decide which cases will be heard, which cases will be consolidated (if any), and whatever other courses of action they might consider. It is almost certain that the High Court will accept one or more cases involving ObamaCare. (Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman Liberty Counsel)

- Petition the High Court of heaven on behalf of this case, asking that the Supreme Court will hear one or both appeals challenging the legality of Obamacare. Ask our Lord to move upon the hearts of the justices, to lift this oppressive burden of federally-mandated health care off of the shoulders of our people. Amen.

- "For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and his ears attend to their prayer." (1 Peter 3:12)

13. NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY HELPS BANKS BATTLE HACKERS

The National Security Agency, a secretive arm of the U.S. military, has begun providing Wall Street banks with intelligence on foreign hackers, a sign of growing U.S. fears of financial sabotage. The assistance from the agency that conducts electronic spying overseas is part of an effort by American banks and other financial firms to get help from the U.S. military and private defense contractors to fend off cyber attacks, according to interviews with U.S. officials, security experts and defense industry executives. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has also warned banks of particular threats amid concerns that hackers could potentially exploit security vulnerabilities to wreak havoc across global markets and cause economic mayhem. While government and private sector security sources are reluctant to discuss specific lines of investigations, they paint worst-case scenarios of hackers ensconcing themselves inside a bank's network to disable trading systems for stocks, bonds and currencies, trigger flash crashes, initiate large transfers of funds or turn off all ATM machines. (Reuters) Read more.

- Praise the Lord for this protection from cyberspies. Offer your bank books and monies to the Lord and ask for His protection of your own finances. Then request that the Lord will safeguard America's banks and finance firms. Pray over your bank and all its branches when you visit it. Pray always for alertness to that which signals wrongdoing.

- "There is gold and a multitude of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel." (Proverbs 20:15)

14. CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATORS WANT 9/11 SUSPECTS QUESTIONED ABOUT AWLAKI

House Homeland Security Committee investigators want the 9/11 suspects questioned about the American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and his possible role in the murder of nearly 3,000 Americans, Fox News has learned. Three letters sent Tuesday and obtained by Fox News show the committee's investigation into the cleric, who was killed in a CIA-led operation in Yemen on Sept. 30, has broadened since his death. In the first letter, Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, wrote to Lt. Gen. Ronald Burgess, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, [and] asked the agency to question detainees involved in plotting 9/11 about the possible roles of Eyad al-Rababah of Jordan, Daoud Chehazeh of Syria and Awlaki in the terror attack. Al-Rababah and Chehazeh, who had direct contact with al-Awlaki at his mosque in suburban Washington D.C., helped the hijackers settle in Virginia and eventually drove them to Paterson, New Jersey -- the hijackers' final stop before the attacks. (The Investigative Project) Read more.

- Pray that the Defense Intelligence Agency will respond immediately and fully about Awlaki. Pray that no interference from the White House nor from any agency in the federal government that might have some details will shred, hide, or refuse to provide the information to Congress. Americans have the right to know their assassins. Ask the Lord to surround Rep. Peter King with protection in his request.

- "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. and whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the water, which spreads out its roots by the river and will not fear when the heat comes, and will not be anxious in the year of drought nor cease from yielding fruit." (Jeremiah 17:7,8)

Focus on Legislation:

Introduction

In addition to the bills in Congress that are of major concern (cited in our Domestic Issues section), we also feature other bills of concern in this section.

As you will see below, these bills are generally separated into two groups: those we wish to support in prayer, and those we wish to see defeated.

Our plumbline is always the Word of God: those bills we wish to support in prayer are in alignment with the Word, and the will, of God; those bills to be defeated, are not.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us as we pray for the hearts of our leaders . . . that they might know the mind of Christ and pass legislation, accordingly. Amen!

Bills to Support in Prayer

Please lift up the members of Congress or the Senate who are sponsoring these bills, with the promise of Scripture, below.

"He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers." (Psalm 1:3)

1. H.R. 2874 Abstinence Education Re-Allocation Act

A study released two weeks ago by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that while fewer teens are having sex, the teen STD rate continues to rise. Condom use among teens has increased since 2002, yet teenagers comprise up to 50 percent of all new cases of STDs today. Still, sex education programs around the country continue to avoid the abstinence education message, and instead favor a curriculum like the one in New York City. The media recently revealed NYC Department of Education's new approach to sex education, which encourages kids as young as 13 to visit a Columbia University website that discusses everything from oral sex to bestiality. This is not the approach that most parents favor in regard to sex education, and is further evidence that the government should be discouraging such approaches to sex education. Rep. Randy Hultgren has sponsored H.R. 2874, the Abstinence Education Re-allocation Act of 2011, to encourage a science-based approach to sex education that produces results.

2. H. Con. Res. 13: To reaffirm 'In God We Trust' as our national motto

[Note: this item has been posted in part A of tonight's OCAP, but we include it here, with more information, due to its crtical importance LINKS TO ALL ARTICLES MAY BE FOUND BY GOING HERE.]

Congressman J. "In 2006, on the 50th anniversary of its adoption, the Senate reaffirmed 'In God We Trust' as the official national motto of the United States. Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will have the same opportunity to reaffirm our national motto and directly confront a disturbing trend of inaccuracies and omissions, misunderstandings of church and state, rogue court challenges, and efforts to remove God from the public domain by unelected bureaucrats. As our nation faces challenging times, it is appropriate for Members of Congress and our nation-like our predecessors-to firmly declare our trust in God, believing that it will sustain us for generations to come," said Forbes.

--Why Reaffirm 'In God We Trust'?

Obama inaccurately proclaimed "E Pluribus Unum' as our national motto. Last November before a worldwide audience, in a much-anticipated and much-publicized speech focusing on the United States' relationship with the Muslim world, President Obama falsely proclaimed that our national motto was E pluribus unum. The President failed to respond to congressional entreaties to issue a correction; the uncorrected transcript remains on the White House website. Read more. Misunderstanding of the phrase "Separation of Church and State". The Supreme Court has held, "The First Amendment, however, does not say that in every and all respects there shall be a separation of Church and State. . . We find no constitutional requirement which makes it necessary for government to be hostile to religion." The words 'separation of church and state' do not appear in the U.S. Constitution. Rather, the phrase originates from a letter penned by Thomas Jefferson on January 1, 1802, to the Danbury Baptist Association.

Inaccuracies and omissions in the half-billion-dollar Capitol Visitor Center. In 2008, the over half-billion dollar Capitol Visitor Center opened for the purpose of educating over 15,000 Capitol visitors daily on the "legislative process as well as the history and development of the architecture and art of the U.S. Capitol." Yet, Capitol Visitor Center historians had sanitized the public building of any references to our national motto, including replacing the inscription of 'In God We Trust,' inscribed above the Speaker's Rostrum with stars in a replica of the House Chamber and cropping an actual picture of the chamber so you could not see the words 'In God We Trust.' Only until Members of Congress intervened publically and legislatively were these omissions and inaccuracies corrected.

Efforts to remove God from the public domain by unelected bureaucrats. * Department of Veterans Affairs attempted to ban flag folding recitations at military funerals that referenced God or religion, even if specifically requested by the family of the deceased. * U.S. Mint attempted to remove the inscription 'In God We Trust' from the front of the new Presidential dollar and instead intended to print it on the edge of the coin. * Attempt of Navy and Air Force to enact policies affecting ability of military chaplains to pray according to their religious conscience. * Architect of the Capitol refused a teen's request for a certificate noting his grandfather's "love of God, country and family" to accompany a souvenir flag that had flown over the building.

3. H.R. 1627: Honoring American Veterans Act

This bill has several features, including the following: "Expresses the sense of Congress that an appropriate site on Chaplains Hill in Arlington be provided for a memorial marker, to be paid for with private funds, to honor the memory of the Jewish chaplains who died while on active duty in the Armed Forces, so long as the Secretary has exclusive authority to approve the design and site of the memorial marker." Last May, Congress passed H.R. 1627 by a unanimous vote (380 - 0).

As a result of that vote, last Monday, a memorial to 14 Jewish chaplains who died during active military service was dedicated Monday at Arlington National Cemetery, joining memorials to Protestant and Roman Catholic chaplains that had been in place for decades. Monday's dedication service at the cemetery corrects an oversight that had more or less gone unnoticed until a few years ago, according to those who sponsored the memorial. (Washington Post)

- Offer praise that these Jewish chaplains are now honored at Arlington National Cemetery. You may want to write your congressman, thanking him or her for passing this bill. Praise the Lord!

4. H.Res. 441: The Strong Defense, Strong America Resolution

Congressman Forbes and 34 other Members of Congress introduced H. Res 441, a resolution stating that a strong military is vital to a strong economy. Today, Congress and the Administration are making decisions to cut our defense budget that will have long-term effects on the future of America's national security, as well as exacerbating already staggering unemployment. Moreover, the Strong Defense, Strong America resolution states that further cuts to national defense will only weaken our nation and constrain our ability to protect our most vital interests. Congressman Forbes does not support solving the fiscal crisis on the backs of the men and women defending our nation; he released a video explaining the impact of defense cuts to jobs and those that serve.

5. H.R. 1744: American Job Protection Act

H.R. 1744, would repeal the employer mandate in the health care law. Beginning in 2014, employers with 50 or more employees will be fined if they do not offer a certain level of health care coverage. Specifically, the American Job Protection Act amends the Internal Revenue Code to repeal provisions added by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requiring certain employers who have a workforce of 50 or more full-time employees to provide health insurance coverage for their employees.

H.R. 1744 is sponsored by Rep Charles W. Boustany, Jr. (R-LA) and has 160 Cosponsors. It is in the House Subcommittee on Health.

-- Pray the Lord would move the hearts of more members of Congress to sign on as cosponsors of this bill. Pray for passage.

6. Congressmen: No Same-Sex Weddings on Government Property

Hold the DOD Accountable to US Law andProtect DOMA

[Note: this is not yet a bill, but is a petition being circulated among members of Congress, leading to legislative action, as shown.]

Summary: Lawmaker urges colleagues to support marriage in next national defense budget bill.

Just after the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy was officially repealed in September, allowing homosexual service members throughout all branches to serve openly, the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) issued a statement making chapels and chaplains available to perform same-sex ceremonies in states where they are legal.

But the fact that the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) still exists, defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman, makes the DOD's new policy illegal, says Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo.

Last week, Akin began circulating a letter on Capitol Hill, urging the Senate to enforce DOMA by including an amendment in the next defense budget forcing all U.S. military posts to comply with DOMA.

"My amendment, which is now the position of the House of Representatives, makes clear that federal employees and federal property can only be used for marriage ceremonies that are consistent with DOMA," he wrote.

The issue has come up before: In April -- five months before Don't Ask, Don't Tell was officially repealed -- the Navy's chief of chaplains signed a memo stating that base facilities could be used for same-sex marriage ceremonies wherever they are legal. When Akin, along with 62 other members of Congress, explained why that was illegal, the policy was suspended.

The DOD's newest policy, however, avoids the word "marriage," stating that "the use of DOD real property and facilities for private functions, including religious and other ceremonies, should be made on a sexual-orientation neutral basis."

Nonetheless, Akin said, "the application . . . of this new policy will undoubtedly violate DOMA." (Citizen Link)

Bills and Actions to Block in Prayer

"The voice of nobles was hushed, And their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth." (Job 29:10)
Prayer Decrees:

1. Ask our Lord to forgive those who are sponsoring bills with wicked agendas, for they know not what they do.

"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:24)

[Please remember: we are commanded to forgive, whether we feel like it or not!]

2. Ask our Lord to impact the life of each member, bringing them to repentance unto salvation.

"(The Lord is) not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

3. When praying over each bill specifically, ask our Lord to intervene, bringing its progress to an end.

"This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!"
(Job 38:11)

4. Finish by praising Him that He is in control and that He is working out everything according to His plan.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

A. Stop Online Piracy Act

This bill is listed as H.R.3261 in the House, and is sponsored by Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) and in the Senate as S.968, sponsored by Sen. Patrick Leahy.

Commentary from Conservative Action Alerts

House Bill to build 'Great Firewall of America' online

As was unfortunately expected, the House version of PROTECT IP has been released (embedded below) and it's ridiculously bad. Despite promises from Rep. Goodlatte, there has been no serious effort to fix the problems of the Senate bill, and it's clear that absolutely no attention was paid to the significant concerns of the tech industry, legal professionals, investors and entrepreneurs. There are no two ways around this simple fact: this is an attempt to build the Great Firewall of America. The bill would require service providers to block access to certain websites, very much contrary to US official positions on censorship and internet freedom, and almost certainly in violation of the First Amendment.

In the Judiciary

"They will sing before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his truth." (Psalm 96:13)

1. Jesus' name ruled 'unconstitutional'

Judge says prayers to Christ 'do violence to America's pluralistic, inclusive values'

A board of county commissioners in North Carolina is asking the Supreme Court for help: Its members don't believe they should have to forbid volunteers from mentioning the name of Jesus in prayers offered before their meetings. But the American Civil Liberties Union and Americans United for Separation of Church and State are standing by their victory in a U.S. circuit court decision that states even "a solitary reference to Jesus Christ" in invocations before the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners' meetings could do "violence to the pluralistic and inclusive values that are a defining feature of American public life." (WorldNetDaily)
2. Supreme Court Turns Down Utah Crosses Case

Summary: The issue of memorial crosses is pending in several federal cases.

The U.S. Supreme Court today declined to hear a case regarding the constitutionality of roadside crosses set up to honor Utah state troopers killed in the line of duty -- letting stand a lower court's ruling saying they're unconstitutional. American Atheists filed the challenge over the crosses in 2005. The Alliance Defense Fund, which has represented the troopers' families for six years, said justice wasn't served by the decision.

"One atheist group's agenda shouldn't diminish the sacrifice made by highway patrol officers and their families," said Senior Counsel Byron Babione. "Thirteen heroic men fell, leaving their survivors to mourn and memorialize their loved ones, and now those widows, children, parents, colleagues, and many more must suffer through losing the very memorials that honored those heroes.

"Justice is not well served when unhappy atheists can use the law to mow down memorial crosses and renew the suffering for the survivors."

The case landed at the Supreme Court after the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in 2010 that the crosses -- found by roadsides and in remote canyons where the troopers lost their lives -- are an unconstitutional government endorsement of religion, even though the nonprofit Utah Highway Patrol Association, which erected them, is not a religious organization, and no public funds were used to set them up. In 2007, a federal district court said the crosses could stand.

The decision to turn the case away was not unanimous.

"Today the Court rejects an opportunity to provide clarity to an Establishment Clause jurisprudence in shambles," Justice Clarence Thomas wrote. "The Tenth Circuit's opinion is one of the latest in a long line of religious display decisions that, because of this Court's nebulous Establishment Clause analyses, turn on little more than 'judicial predilections ...' Because our jurisprudence has confounded the lower courts and rendered the constitutionality of displays of religious imagery on government property anyone's guess, I would grant certiorari."

According to the 10th Circuit, Utah's roadside memorials aren't the only crosses that come under the ruling: Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Wyoming are affected as well. (CitizenLink)

Special Report: Spectrum feud hits supercommittee

Spectrum feud hits Super Committee

[Note: the term "spectrum" is a technical one, related to how wide a broadband service is permitted for different carriers. This affects our television programming; and in particular, may have an adverse effect upon the small, local affiliates -- especially those that carry Christian programming. New regulations now pending are a stealth measure to shut down those stations. A fight is also taking place between TV use of these airwaves and cell phone providers.]

The fight pitting broadcast vs. mobile broadband is over how to parcel out the valuable airwaves hovering above the country. Those invisible radio frequencies, known as spectrum, transmit over-the-air TV programming into living rooms, but they also power the exploding number of email-sending, Web-surfing BlackBerrys, Droids and iPads.

There aren't enough airwaves to go around, so federal regulators want broadcasters to give up some of the airwaves they've used for half-a-century in order to auction them off to the highest-bidding cellphone company. In a recent speech, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski called the so-called spectrum crunch "the single biggest threat to one of the most promising parts of our economy."

The supercommittee, which has fewer than four weeks left to issue its final recommendations to cut at least $1.2 trillion from the national deficit, sees a spectrum auction as a potential piece of the package. The FCC estimates an auction of broadcast airwaves could bring in $25 billion for the Treasury Department. That figure is only a drop in the deficit bucket, and some committee members have asked the Obama administration to identify even more spectrum to be sold off.
"Between now and Christmas Eve is the hour of our maximum peril," said Gordon Smith, a former Republican senator from Oregon who is now president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters. Smith worries hitching an auction to the deficit-reduction effort will rush the process and end up knocking broadcasters off the air.

Smith would prefer to see Congress, which has been studying the issue for months, give the FCC auction authority through the regular legislative process. That, he said, would help ensure the broadcasters don't get bulldozed.

He could get his wish. Even though the supercommittee is considering including incentive auctions in its deficit-reduction package, key lawmakers on the House Energy and Commerce Committee are working through a bill.

Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), a former broadcaster and chairman of the House telecom subcommittee that oversees the FCC, has met with ranking member Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) at least nine times to hammer out an agreement, according to committee aides. The Senate has already cleared a bill to give the FCC the authority to go forward with an incentive auction. (POLITICO) Read more.

- Pray much in the spirit over this convoluted and technical mess. Bind the spirit of python, that would seek to "squeeze" out the local broadcasters and stifle free speech in our nation. Bind the spirits of greed, mammon and control that are operating here, too. Ask for God's good and perfect will to be done in all matters related to the spectrum debate. Pray!

- "The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16)

1. PALESTINIAN BID FOR STATEHOOD THROUGH UN: NOVEMBER 11th

PA Making Final Efforts to Gain Support for UN Bid for Statehood

Palestinian diplomats are trying to muster support for a UN Security Council vote in New York on November 11 on their bid for membership in the global body. UN diplomats said earlier this week that a Security Council committee considering the membership bid would deliver a report on that day, and that ambassadors would then decide on the next steps.

Palestinians and their allies would need to get the backing of nine of the Security Council's 15 members to request a vote, the same number required to approve a resolution. But the Security Council's five permanent members - Britain, China, France, Russia and the US - each have veto power. The US, Israel's closest ally, has pledged to use its veto if a majority back Palestinian membership.

"We still have time until November 11, so there is a lot of efforts pushing certain countries to voting in favor," Palestinian envoy to the UN in Geneva, Ibrahim Khraishi, told AP. Khraishi said "several parties are working" to secure the votes, but declined to elaborate. "Personally, I think that we will succeed to get the nine," he added. (YnetNews) Read more.

- Father in heaven, this bid for Palestinian membership in the United Nations reeks of Islam's war-like attitude to gain more control over the nations. And by the power of God vested in us we decree that the spiritual stronghold of Islam is destroyed by the Word of God, including all the hoards of evil spirits that empower this wicked system God, we decree total failure to the evil spiritual powers that would seek to deceive through lies and false agreements. May they all be defeated, disarmed, disqualified, made useless and unnecessary, and totally pushed out by the blood of Jesus Christ. Hold back the vote until next year, that one cannot agree with the other and cast down every lie and deception so that no nation will vote for Palestinian membership to the U.N. In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray.

- "Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with you, which frames mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous and condemn the innocent blood. But the Lord is our defense; and our God is the rock of our refuge." (Psalm 94:19-22)

2. SOUTHERN ISRAEL HIT BY GAZA ROCKETS OVER THE WEEKEND

Lieberman: 'Attacks will have implications'

Relative quiet prevailed in the Gaza Strip Sunday, after several barrages hit various Israeli communities and claimed the life of one man Saturday night. The lull was breached earlier Sunday after the IDF struck a rocket cell and killed one terrorist. Late Sunday, an IDF aircraft targeted a rocket cell shortly after it fired at Israel. The army said identified a hit.

Saturday evening, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned that the continuation of rocket attacks from the Strip "will have implications in the coming days." Lieberman, who spoke in Bosnia, said that Israel will not sit idle while rockets are being fired at the Jewish state. "We do not seek a confrontation with the Palestinians and do not wish to escalate the situation, but we shall not sustain one barrage after another without responding," he said. (YnetNews) Read more.

Update from friends in Israel:

Dear Friends of Israel: Greetings from Jerusalem! I am writing tonight to ask prayer for Israel. Once again, this tiny nation finds itself under attack. As I write, Hamas rockets are raining down upon the Southern cities of this land. Over 30 rockets and mortars have exploded since sundown, hitting Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gan Yavne and Beersheva. These missiles have killed one Israeli and injured another four detonating inside residential areas, damaging apartments, automobiles, a synagogue and a school.

Earlier in the day, the IDF in a defensive strike successfully attacked a Hamas rocket cell, killing five Islamic terrorists in Gaza who were about to launch their missiles into Israel. In this raid, Hamas announced that one of its senior Islamic Jihad commanders was "marytered." Its leaders have vowed revenge against Israel

Israel has threatened the Iranian backed Hamas with immediate retaliation if they continue to launch rockets and mortars against its populace. It has also announced that if these attacks continue there will be a cessation in releasing the remainder of the 550 PA terrorists imprisoned who were due to be set free in the second phase of Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange.

- (Prayer request from friends on the land.) Please pray that these rocket attacks will cease. Pray that the Middle East will not explode in another war. It's also a strong possibility that these Hamas rockets attacks against Israel were ordered by Iranian and Syrian elements as a diversion. The world's press would then focus on the warfare between Israel and Gaza thereby ignoring Syrian President Assad's murderous attacks against his own citizens.

- "I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day . . ." (Ps. 91: 2-5)

3. AN ARABIAN BOUNTY FOR ABDUCTING AN IDF SOLDIER

Saudi Prince Khaled bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud declared Saturday (10/28/11) he would give $900,000 to whoever abducts an Israeli soldier thus allowing Hamas to hold this person in captivity until exchanged for thousands of Palestinian prisoners. In an interview with Saudi TV, bin Talal stressed that his offer was in response to a similar offer made by another Saudi Cleric who earlier this week said he would give $100,000 to anyone who would kidnap an Israeli soldier. (YnetNews.com)

- Please pray that the LORD would frustrate the hands of those who would seek to abduct the precious sons and daughters of Zion. Please pray for those who serve in the IDF, that they would exercise wisdom in their travels and when on duty. Pray also against kidnapping attacks. We have friends of ours whose sons and daughters serve in the IDF and are believers. Pray that the LORD of the Armies (Yehovah Sabaoth: I Sam 17:45) defend these men and women. Pray as the Lord leads you for this Saudi Prince. Pray Psalms 34:21: "Evil shall slay the wicked and those that hate the righteous shall be desolate." (Submitted by End-Time Handmaidens and Servants, Jerusalem House of Prayer)

- Pray for justice! This offer of a bounty is a violation of international law that should be prosecuted in the World Court. Since it will not, pray that the Lord, our Judge, would rule on this from heaven.

4. IDF TO REVISIT ABDUCTION PREVENTION PROTOCOL

The IDF's operational forum will discuss a procedure which stipulates that the abduction of living soldiers must be prevented at any cost later this week in the backdrop of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal. Since Shalit was released in exchange for 1,027 Palestinian prisoners Hamas has stressed that it will attempt to kidnap more soldiers in order to bring about the release of the remaining Palestinians held in Israel.

The IDF estimates the threat is concrete and has therefore briefed commanders on a series of preliminary actions which can help prevent kidnappings. IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz has also ordered that the commanders learn ways to actively thwart kidnappings, even at the expense of the kidnapped soldier's life.

Gantz will be forced to form a clear and unified policy next week which will no doubt prompt a public discussion. Meanwhile IDF officials stressed that the protocol will not be changed but procedures will be revisited to prevent any misunderstandings.

-- Pray that the Israeli government would come up with an official, new, policy regarding prisoner swaps, kidnappings, and terrorist as enemy combatants (rather than being tried in civilian courts, as is the present policy). (NOTE: The military courts have capital punishment, whereas the civilian courts do not. It has been an ongoing error to try any terrorist with Jewish blood on their hands in these civilian courts. This must stop or there will never be an effective deterrent to terror attacks.)

- "Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it fully." (Proverbs 28:5)

5. TURKEY: ISRAEL EARTHQUAKE AID WON'T EASE DIPLOMATIC TENSION

Israeli aid sent to Turkey in wake of a massive earthquake that struck the country will not alleviate tense ties between the two countries, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu indicated on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Turkey accepted aid from Israel for the first time since the 7.2 earthquake struck the country's east, after rejecting several offers by top Israeli officials. The first Israeli aid convoy that includes seven portable structures, departed Wednesday afternoon from Israel to the eastern Turkish area affected by the quake. The structures are meant to provide refuge to survivors who lost their homes in the natural disaster.

The aid agreement comes as a rare positive moment in an otherwise stressed Israel-Turkey relationship, one that has taken a dramatic turn for the worse in recent months over Israel's 2010 raid of a Turkish Gaza-bound aid flotilla. However, speaking to Turkey's Today's Zaman newspaper on Thursday, the Turkish FM indicated that Ankara's acceptance of Israeli aid did not signal an improvement in diplomatic ties, saying it would not change its "principled position." (Haaretz)

- Abba Father, what an amazing event is occurring. Israel, reflecting their value of life, is sending housing structures to Turkish quake victims and have offered search and rescue teams which were rejected by Turkish authorities. Animosity and political agendas appear to be far more important than acceptance of needed assistance. O Lord, tear down this wall of hatred, for the quake victims' sake, and judge their actions as to the wall of threats and hostility towards Israel when all that was offered was needed aid and assistance. in the Name of Jesus our Lord and Savior, Amen and Amen.

- O my God, make them like the whirling dust, like the chaff before the wind! As the fire consumes the forest and as the flame sets the mountains on fire, so pursue them with Your tempest and frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be put to shame and perish. That they may know that You, whose Name alone is the Lord, You are the Most High over all the earth. (Psalm 83:13-18)

6. SYRIA IN TURMOIL: DOCUMENTARY SMUGGLED OUT ON RISK OF DEATH

Documentary Filmed on Risk of Death and Smuggled Out

This Syrian uprising documentary showing the hell of Syria. The uprising was the result of a few kids who wrote graffiti criticizing the government. The children were arrested and tortured in prison, which caused the spark for the uprising to take hold. The Muslim Brotherhood Islamists will organize and help the uprising succeed over the next several months. Assad will eventually suffer the same fate as Qaddafy and Syria will become a satellite of Turkey. Watch Video (Hebrew Nation News)

- Abba Father, we cry out tonight for the persecuted church worldwide, and for unbelievers who are also fighting for their freedom. We ask You to interveme in the nation of Syria, breaking the hand of tyranny under Hafez Assad and setting these citizens free. Father God, we ask that You either change Assad's heart, or cause him to be toppled from his throne.

Lord God, we ask, too, that You intervene so that this nation not come under the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood, but under the Rule of Your Kingdom. We ask for a harvest of souls in Syira. In Your Name, we ask this prayer, amen.

- " Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth." (Psalm 71:4,5)

7. VIOLENCE IN YEMEN

Yemeni security forces heavily deployed in Sanaa allowed a massive anti-government rally on Thursday to cross the capital without intervening, for the first time since January, AFP news agency reported. The protesters left Change Square, outside Sanaa University which has become the epicentre of anti-government demonstrations, and marched towards Al-Zubairi Avenue in central Sanaa. Over the past months, security forces had opened fire on protesters whenever they attempted to march towards the city centre. A similar move last month sparked a wave of deadly violence that left dozens dead across the capital.

Meanwhile on Thursday, three al-Qaeda operatives were killed and six others were wounded in a suspected US drone strike on a Yemeni village in the restive southern Abyan province, a local government official told AFP news agency. "An unmanned aircraft, likely American, struck the village of Shaqra . . . and killed three al-Qaeda operatives and wounded six others," said the official who spoke to AFP on condition of anonymity. He said the rebel group has been carrying out military training exercises in the area, adding that near-by residents had reported sounds of gunfire and explosions in recent days. Yemeni troops have been battling al-Qaeda linked fighters in Abyan since May. (Agence France-Press)

- Abba Father, this so called 'Arab Spring' seems to go on and on. Anti-government demonstrations continue, despite past violent responses to the protests. This smaller nation at the base of the Saudi Arabian peninsula has become a launching, training and plotting site for al-Qaeda and so much of its hatred and violence. It is like a cauldron of bubbling hatred against You and Your people. Confront them Lord in their innermost beings with Your Glory and Might. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen and Amen.

- "The wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God. For the needy shall not always be forgotten; the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever. Arise, O Lord. Do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your sight. Put them in fear, O Lord, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah." (Psalm 9:17-20)

8. ISLAMIST PARTY WINS ELECTIONS IN TUNISIA

The Arab Spring Has Sprung

The first nation to "revolt" in the so-called Arab Spring was Tunisia and the first election results are in. An Islamist party has won over 40% of the vote and will form the new government. Before the "Arab Spring," Tunisia was the "model" secular nation in the Arab world. Just prior to the election the new leaders in Tunisia had announced that any new constitution would follow Sharia law. (Religious Freedom Coalition) Read more

- Dear Lord, we ask that You would protect Your small remnant in these countries where so called elections and democracy have been brought about by bloody revolution devoid of the soaking of it in Christian prayer as our country was. We ask You to contain these violent men and their grab for power in so many countries in the Middle East and North Africa. We pray for a hunger and thirst for You to come upon the peoples of this region and for a realization of what real freedom and liberty is and what is a counterfeit.

- "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)

9. NY FED'S $40 BILLION IRAQI MONEY TRAIL

It has been called the largest airborne transfer of currency in the history of the world. But finding out what happened to all the money involved has become one of the biggest financial mysteries of all time. Beginning in the very earliest days of the war in Iraq, the New York Federal Reserve shipped billions of dollars in physical cash to Baghdad to pay for the reopening of the government and restoration of basic services. The money was packed onto pallets inside a heavily guarded New York Federal Reserve compound in East Rutherford, New Jersey, trucked to Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington, and flown by military aircraft to Baghdad International Airport. By one account, the New York Fed shipped about $40 billion in cash between 2003 and 2008. In just the first two years, the shipments included more than 281 million individual bills weighing a total of 363 tons. But soon after the money arrived in the chaos of war-torn Baghdad, the paper trail documenting who controlled it all began to go cold . . . (CNBC) Read more.

-Our Gracious Lord, we ask first of all that the funds that are missing or unaccounted for would be located and that they went for the purpose intended. Secondly, we ask that all similar shipments in the future be handled in a more responsible way. Also, we ask that more wisdom would be used in giving hard earned American dollars to pagan nations who do not answer to the Creator of the Universe. Thank You, Lord, for finding a way to redeem this situation, for we know You said that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous.

- "And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him." (Psalms 7:40)

10. BREAKING NEWS - U.S. CUTS FUNDS TO UNESCO OVER PALESTINIAN VOTE

The United States will not pay $60 million to a U.N. cultural and educational agency after it voted Monday to accept the Palestinian mission as a full member, triggering a U.S. requirement to cut off funds.

"We are not going to be able to continue contributing to the budget," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. "Palestinian membership as a state in UNESCO triggers longstanding legislative restrictions which will compel the United States to refrain from making contributions to UNESCO."

Washington is required by law to cut off funding to any U.N. agency if the Palestinian Liberation Organization is granted membership in any group at the international body.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization voted 107-14 with 52 abstentions on Monday granting Palestinians full membership in the organization. The U.S. voted against the nomination. Eighty-one votes of the 173 UNESCO members were needed for full membership to be approved. (Fox News) Read more.

- Offer a chorus of praise that the United States is sticking to its guns and holding to legislation, already in place, demanding the withdrawal of funding to UNESCO should they recognize a Palestinian state. Offer praise, too, that our nation vetoed this move during the vote this morning at the United Nations. PRAY THAT WE WILL ALSO VETO ANOTHER PENDING VOTE ON PALESTINIAN STATEHOOD, NOW SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE IN THE SECURTIY COUNCIL ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH, AS PROMISED. PRAY!

- "I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." (Genesis 12:3)

1. DEFENSE CHIEF SAYS U.S. IS SHIFTING FOCUS TO ASIA

Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta traveled to Asia this week, and his message to allies and adversaries - mainly China and North Korea - was clear: The United States is shifting its focus to the region and bolstering forces and alliances there. . . Mr. Panetta, however, made no mention during the trip so far that included stops in Indonesia, Japan and South Korea of the Pentagon's new Air Sea Battle concept, an emerging strategy aimed at bolstering air forces for a future conflict with China. The concept was approved by top generals and admirals last summer, but is being held up by the Pentagon and other Obama administration officials over concerns it will upset China, which aggressively lobbied Washington not to implement the new battle plan, according to defense officials . . . Mr. Panetta wrote an opinion article that appeared Monday in Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper that singled out China and North Korea as key regional challenges. (The Washington Times)

- As the focus of American foreign policy is shifted towards Asia, pray that this administration would uphold the right to religious freedom in every nation we must deal with in that part of the world. Pray, too, that any "future conflict with China," named in this article, would occur only in the perfect will and in the perfect timing of the Lord. Amen.

- "The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16)

2. CLINTON DEFENDS U.S. EFFORTS TO TALK WITH TERRORISTS

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Thursday defended the Obama administrations efforts to talk to the Taliban and an al Qaeda-linked terrorist network, but skeptical members of Congress said this approach cannot work without support from Pakistan. Mrs. Clinton revealed on a visit to Pakistan last week that U.S. officials had met with representatives of the Haqqani terrorist network, which is based in Pakistan. The meeting took place during the summer, before the terrorists attacked the U.S. Embassy in Kabul and injured 77 U.S. troops in a bombing at a NATO base south of the Afghan capital in September . . . Mrs. Clinton told members of the committee that the administration also has ratcheted up military pressure on the terrorists, even as it has tried to talk to them. (The Washington Times)

- We know that the reason for the vacillation of the Pakistanis is the game-play with the USA: to be supportive of the terrorists living there, and at the same time to appear to be in friendship with the USA. Please direct prayers for Hillary Clinton that will cause her to face truth of the situation and reality. Ask the Lord to send someone to her who can explain the truth behind the game-play: that the Koran teaches that lying to infidels is completely acceptable. Keep praying for her salvation in Jesus Christ so she can be lifted from the clutches of Obama and used as an ambassador for God.

- "Trust in the Lord, and do good: Dwell in the land , and feed on His faithfulness." (Psalm 37 3)

3. TERRORIST ATTACK OUTSIDE U.S. EMBASSY IN BOSNIA

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina October 28, 2011 (AP) - A man opened fire with an automatic weapon Friday in what authorities called a terrorist attack on the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia. A policeman and the gunman were wounded, but the embassy said none of its employees was hurt. Sarajevo Mayor Alija Behmen said the gunman "got off a tram with a Kalashnikov and started shooting at the American Embassy." Witnesses told Bosnian television that the man urged pedestrians to move away, saying he was targeting only the embassy. He wore a beard and was dressed in an outfit with short pants that reveal his ankles - typical for followers of the conservative Wahhabi branch of Islam.

One police officer guarding the building was wounded before police surrounded the gunman. After a 30-minute standoff, the sound of a single shot echoed and AP video showed the shooter slump to the ground. Police arrested the wounded man - who one of Bosnia's three presidents said is a foreigner - and took him away in an ambulance as pedestrians cowered behind buildings and vehicles. Hospital spokeswoman Biljana Jandric told The Associated Press the gunman had a minor wound to his leg, and would spend the night at the hospital before being released into police custody. Bosnian TV identified the shooter as Mevlid Jasarevic, from Novi Pazar, Serbia. It said he is a Wahhabi follower. Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic confirmed his identity.

- Continue to pray for protection of our embassies throughout the world and for the American staffers working in the embassies. Pray for the Lord to manifest Himself to this demented, Wahhabi would-be terrorist Praise the Lord that no one was killed in this attack and for the cooperation of the Serbian government. Keep praying over our media that it will report all the news.

- "The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble." (Nahum 1:7)

4. CAMERON THREAT TO WITHHOLD UK AID TO ANTI-GAY NATIONS

David Cameron has threatened to withhold UK aid from countries that do not reform legislation banning homosexuality. The UK prime minister said he raised the issue with some of the states involved at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth, Australia. Human rights reform in the Commonwealth was one issue that leaders failed to reach agreement on at the summit. Mr Cameron says those receiving UK aid should "adhere to proper human rights". Ending the bans on homosexuality was one of the recommendations of an internal report into the future relevance of the Commonwealth. (BBC)

- Lord, we pray that, whatever the UK does unto other nations will come back upon their own heads, according to Your Word. Let them be humbled for this positioning, and let them learn from Your Hand, your truth. May this situation rebound unto Your Glory and their salvation. We ask You to forgive P.M. Cameron for his wickedness, for he knows not what he does. Take the blinders off his eyes, Abba, and bring Him to You. In Your Name, amen.

- "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." (Gal. 6:7)

5. NETHERLANDS: "LONELINESS," "FATIGUE" NOW CRITERIA FOR EUTHANASIA

UTRECHT, Netherlands, October 24, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Royal Dutch Medical Association (KNMG) has released new guidelines for interpreting the 2002 Euthanasia Act that now includes "mental and psychosocial ailments" such as "loss of function, loneliness and loss of autonomy" as acceptable criteria for euthanasia. The guidelines also allow doctors to connect a patient's lack of "social skills, financial resources and a social network" to "unbearable and lasting suffering," opening the door to legal assisted death based on "psychosocial" factors, not terminal illness. Read more.

- Euthanasia in and of itself is sin, because it is written, "Thou shalt not kill." (Exodus 20:13). As the definition of "euthanasia" is being broadened by law in the Netherlands, cry out out to God for mercy for that nation, and for an end to this atrocity. Jesus came to bring us life, and that more abundantly. Pray for a reversal to this pro-death law. Amen.

- "O righteous God, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure." (Psalm 7:9)

6. VATICAN CALLS FOR "NEW WORLD ECONOMIC ORDER"

The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a "global public authority" and a "central world bank" to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises. The document from the Vatican's Justice and Peace department should please the "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrators and similar movements around the world who have protested against the economic downturn.

"Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority," was at times very specific, calling, for example, for taxation measures on financial transactions. "The economic and financial crisis which the world is going through calls everyone, individuals and peoples, to examine in depth the principles and the cultural and moral values at the basis of social coexistence," it said.

It condemned what it called "the idolatry of the market" as well as a "neo-liberal thinking" that it said looked exclusively at technical solutions to economic problems. (Reuters) Read more.

A Commentary from Hebrew Nation News:

What does it mean? The statements made by the Vatican this week gives us an indicator of the rising "Beast system" that will be in power when Yeshua returns. How close are we to seeing this global economy established? We are nearly there!

With the Vatican calling for a "New World Economic Order" and a global banking system, this plays right into the agenda of the final end of days Beast system. The key players who have been pulling strings behind the curtain are now coming out into the light of day for all to see. These key players are now being exposed, for those who have eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to discern and understand the days we are now living in.

- We are clearly nearing the end of days. Do you have a burden for souls? Ask our Lord to allow many opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, far and wide. Time is short; let's make every second count for Him!

- "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." (Luke 10:2)

7. DEBRIS FROM JAPAN'S TSUNAMI HEADING FOR HAWAII

Some 5 to 20 million tons of debris--furniture, fishing boats, refrigerators--sucked into the Pacific Ocean in the wake of Japan's March 11 earthquake and tsunami are moving rapidly across the Pacific. Researchers from the University of Hawaii tracking the wreckage estimate it could approach the U.S. West Coast in the next three years, the UK Daily Mail reports.

"We have a rough estimate of 5 to 20 million tons of debris coming from Japan," University of Hawaii researcher Jan Hafner told Hawaii's ABC affiliate KITV.

Crew members from the Russian training ship the STS Pallada "spotted the debris 2,000 miles from Japan," last month after passing the Midway islands, the Mail wrote. "They saw some pieces of furniture, some appliances, anything that can float, and they picked up a fishing boat," said Hafner. The boat was 20-feet long, and was painted with the word "Fukushima." "That's actually our first confirmed report of tsunami debris," Hafner told KITV. (ABC News)

- Dear Lord Jesus, what a visible tragic reminder of the devastation which occurred in Japan last spring. May the seeds sown by Christian relief workers prosper and grow in the devastated cities of Japan. May Your Light, Glory and Joy come to rest in their hearts and restore their hope. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen and Amen!!

- "The pangs of death surrounded me, and the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears." (Psalm 18:4-6)

This Week, Worship Our Lord As . . .

THE LORD WILL PROVIDE (Adoni Yeereh)

And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide;[a] as it is said to this day, "In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided." (Genesis 22:14)

Lord, how grateful I am for Your hand of provision. You give and You withhold - all for my best. You call me to obey, not to sacrifice. Lord, how I praise You for providing beyond what I could hope for, dream of, or ask.

"And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen." (Psalm 72:19)

The Daily Brief - Friday, October 28, 2011

"Occupy till I come." (Luke 19:13b)

The Daily Brief

1. 'Rogue websites' bill introduced in US House - AFP

US lawmakers introduced a bill on Wednesday that would give US authorities more tools to crack down on websites accused of piracy of movies, television shows and music and the sale of counterfeit goods.

- Father, we ask that wisdom be given to the members of the House of Representatives as they seek to stop illegal, harmful, cyber crimes on the internet, and at the same time preserve the freedom and rights of those citizens not involved in illegal activity. As we see a "crackdown" on crime, we also see the threat of invading the privacy of those not committing crimes. We ask that safeguards be put in place to separate the criminals and those that are law-abiding citizens. Amen.

- "The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment." (2 Peter 2:9)

2. Napolitano: Jailed Illegals Will Get Phone Number to Report Civil Rights Violations - CNS News

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told the House Judiciary Committee in written testimony submitted Wednesday that illegal aliens taken into custody by local law enforcement and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement will be given a phone number to call if they believe their civil rights have been violated.

- Abba, have we gone too far in trying to "please" those who are doing wrong? Why are we trying so hard to treat illegal aliens as if they have the same rights of our citizens who are obeying the laws? Lord, we know this is a difficult problem, in that, many people from other lands want to come to this country to live - where they can enjoy the benefits of being Americans. We ask that You would help them pursue immigration and citizenship legally, and responsibly. We do thank You that they can pursue appeals if they believe they are being falsely arrested and deported, and thereby become law-abiding citizens of this Country.

- " Let all things be done decently and in order." (I Corinthians 14:40)

3. Teachers' Union Offered Grant to Create 'Activists' Out Of 1st & 2nd Graders - The Blaze - (NEA)

The National Education Association (NEA), the largest labor union in the country, offered a $5,000 Learning and Leadership Grant to two Wisconsin teachers who intended to use the funds to "help first and second grade students" become "activists." The grant description is no longer available on the NEA Foundation website as Muskego-Norway Superintendent declined to accept the grant given its dubious language and intent.

- Father, we ask that tax-payer funds not be used to turn our children into "activists", or worse yet, "anarchists". We do want our children to be aware socially, and otherwise, of the very real issues they will face as adults, and to learn to think for themselves. However, first and second graders are only 6 or 7 years old. We know this is an impressionable time of their lives, and we want to teach them about You, Lord. You alone are God, and the foundation for everything else that matters in life. We do not want our children to be taught to "rebel" and be dissatisfied. We thank You these funds were rejected. We pray that You will protect our children from those who wish to indoctrinate them for their own personal agenda.

-"Jesus our Lord, through His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue." (2 Peter 13)

4. 76 Percent Dissatisfied With Direction of Country - Fox News

Three-quarters of American voters -- 76 percent -- are dissatisfied with how things are going in the country, according to a Fox News poll released Thursday. That's up from 69 percent who felt that way in April, and 61 percent at the beginning of the year.

- Lord, we ask for wisdom and discernment among our citizenry. We ask that those who are displeased with the direction our Country is moving in, would have the courage to vote their convictions for the person of Your choice to govern our Land, in this next election. We, as Your children, do humbly repent of our sins, individually and nationally, and call upon Your mercy and grace, to save our great nation, and turn it back to the Biblical foundations, established by our founding fathers. Lord, Heal our Land! Amen!

- "If My people, who are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land!" (2 Chronicles 7:14)

5. US considers unusual attack helicopter deal for Turkey - Jerusalem Post

The Obama administration is consulting Congress on an unusual proposal to transfer US Marine Corps attack helicopters to Turkey, US officials said on Thursday, as Ankara tries to exact revenge for a major attack by Kurdish separatists. Turkey, a NATO ally, has been seeking AH-1 SuperCobra helicopters to replace those lost in its long struggle against separatist rebels from the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK. The officials declined to be identified because of the matter's sensitivity and because they were not authorized to speak on the record. The idea to take weapons from the US arsenal was rare, they said.

The proposal has been held up amid lawmakers' questions about increasingly distant relations between Muslim-majority Turkey and Israel, a key US ally, among other matters.

- Abba, Father, we come to You humbly, asking that those who make these decisions on behalf of our nation, would be sensitive to Your voice, Your direction, Your wisdom, and Your discernment in making this decision. We know that Turkey and Israel seem to be "at odds" with one another right now. We do thank You that Israel has offered aid to Turkey in assisting with the aftermath of Turkey's recent earthquake, and that Turkey has accepted their offer. We ask that this will help heal their strained relationship. Lord, You know the "end from the beginning", and so we ask that these helicopters would not be given to Turkey, if they would ultimately be used against Your people and Your Land of Israel. May Your will be done in this situation. Amen.

- "Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly." (Proverbs 2:5-7)

The Good News Corner:

Global Men's Summit Seeks to Reverse Financial Crisis by Calling Men
to Live Lives of Integrity

In the midst of headlines detailing the latest financial downturn and the weakening of the world's economic integrity, one vital statistic has gone unreported:

Single-parent households are nearly twice as likely to be living in poverty, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Recognizing that a family is financially and emotionally strongest when both a father and mother are present, the Christian Men's Network announced that its biannual Lions Roar 2011 Global Summit-November 3-5, 2011 in Dallas, Texas-would focus on encouraging men to become courageous leaders at home and in business.

"Men of integrity make strong families, strong families make strong churches and strong churches transform nations," said Pastor Paul Cole, president of Christian Men's Network, the men's organization founded in 1977 by Edwin Louis Cole, author of the million-selling book Maximized Manhood, now considered a classic.

"Ultimately, the key to reversing the financial crisis starts with men who choose to live their lives with integrity. When men make that courageous choice to lead their families as Christ led the Church, things will change for the better," Cole said.

The results from this Summit will be action steps for 86,000 leaders currently connected by CMN in 138 nations. Delegates from over 20 nations will gather for three days with pastors of some of the largest churches in the world who have "majored in men." Influential leaders from numerous men's movements will lead group discussions, present initiatives and set agendas for international cooperation and strategic results.

Unique to this event, "roundtable" talks led by key leaders will spark dialogue and build fellowship, providing an exchange of ideas especially related to cultural shifts and reaching men for Christ. Delegates will be equipped with tools for successful leadership, building momentum in men's ministries, growing strong churches and becoming influential culture shapers.

The evening sessions are for men and women. Day sessions are for men only. Special ladies' meetings will be held during the day as well. (Source: Christian Men's Network)

"Sweet Hour of Prayer!" Sung by George B. Shea

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father's throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter's snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
