1. Israel said to hit Iranian sites in Iraq, expanding strikes on missile shipments - Times of Israel

Israel has expanded its operations against Iranian targets to Iraq, where Air Force jets have struck twice in ten days, a report said Tuesday morning.

Israel commonly conducts strikes in Syrian territory, targeting Iranian missile shipments meant for Lebanese terror group Hezbollah to use against the Jewish state, but strikes in Iraq by Israel have not been reported since the 1981 bombing of a nuclear reactor.

Asharq Al-Awsat, an Arabic-language newspaper published in London, cited Western diplomatic sources as saying an Israeli F-35 plane was behind a July 19 strike on a rocket depot in a Shiite militia base north of Baghdad. The IDF has not commented on the report.

2. Announcing Knesset slate, Liberman vows to force unity government - Times of Israel

Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman announced his party's slate for September's Knesset elections on Tuesday evening, telling supporters that he plans to force a national unity government between Likud and the centrist Blue and White party.

During a speech at his party's Jerusalem headquarters, Liberman said that there was "essentially no difference" between the two factions and that he would recommend that the first leader to call for a unity government be tasked with forming a coalition.

"If none of the parties commit to it, we will not recommend anyone to the president," he said, emphasizing that Yisrael Beytenu would only sit in a coalition that included both Likud and Blue and White, which is led by former IDF chief of staff Benny Gantz.

3. Abbas: Israel destroying all opportunities for peace - Israel National News

Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday discussed his decision to stop implementing agreements with Israel.

"The Palestinian Authority's leadership has made a decision to stop fulfilling the agreements it signed with Israel, because the Israeli government does not respect them and acts to shatter the agreements reached between us through international mediation. It is destroying all opportunities for peace," Abbas charged, according to a report in Channel 13 News.

Abbas had announced last Thursday that the PA would not agree to have dictates imposed on it and allow Israel to establish a reality on the ground by means of force, especially in Jerusalem.

4. Swiss Funding Freeze in Wake of UNRWA Corruption Allegations Piles On Palestinian Refugee Agency's Woes - Algemeiner

Switzerland confirmed on Tuesday that it was temporarily freezing funding for UNRWA - the United Nations agency dedicated solely to Palestinian refugees and their descendants - following the emergence of an internal report that accused the agency's top management of systematic corruption and abuse.

Swiss public broadcaster SRF reported that the country's Foreign Ministry decided to suspend funds following a phone consultation between leading officials and Pierre Krähenbühl - a Swiss national who serves as UNRWA's director-general, and whose own actions were at the center of the reports' criticisms.

The report included accusations against UNRWA's management of "nepotism, retaliation, discrimination and other abuses of authority, for personal gain, to suppress legitimate dissent, and to otherwise achieve their personal objectives." Krähenbühl was personally accused of appointing a woman with whom he was romantically involved as an adviser. Despite facing a deficit of more than $200 million in UNRWA's current budget, the report charged that the pair had frequently traveled together on business class flights around the world.

5. Likud: Right in danger following unity agreement - Israel National News

Sources in the Likud oppose the agreementbetween the New Right and the United Right to run together in the upcoming elections in September.

"It's a fictional union if it does not include all the parties on the right. If this is the end of the process, while the Arab parties are uniting completely, then the right-wing bloc is in danger of losing the government," the Likud stated.

"Bennett, Shaked, and Smotrich have left 5-6 seats out of the right-wing bloc. They are consciously risking the continuation of the right-wing government," the party added. "It is not too late to correct this dangerous mistake."

The party also referred to the clause in the agreement between the United Right and the New Right, according to which the integration of Otzma Yehudit would be accomplished through negotiations with Likud.

1. China Covertly Subverting Trump Reelection - FreeBeacon

China is conducting an aggressive disinformation and influence campaign designed to block the re-election of President Trump in 2020, according to Guo Wengui, an exiled Chinese real estate tycoon-turned-anti-communist critic.

The campaign has been underway since the 2018 mid-term election and involves enlisting pro-China elements inside the United States to end the Trump administration after four years. "For the 2020 U.S. presidential election, the security committee has given very clear instructions that it is not permissible for Trump to win the 2020 election," Guo said speaking through an interpreter. By deploying its intelligence and influence resources in the United States, the CCP is working to exploit the harsh political divisions between Democrats and Republicans in seeking to unseat the Trump administration.

Chinese interference into American politics was first disclosed by Trump in September and a month later in a speech by Vice President Mike Pence. Pence stated that the Beijing political interference employs a whole-of-government approach involving political, economic, military tools, and propaganda to interfere in both policy and politics. "To put it bluntly, President Trump's leadership is working; and China wants a different American president," Pence said in a speech Oct. 4. (Read more)

- Father God, we ask You to protect our people from those who sow division for political power. We pray for Your perfect will to be done in each primary and election across our nation.

- But he brought his people out like a flock; he led them like sheep through the wilderness. He guided them safely, so they were unafraid; but the sea engulfed their enemies. (Psalm 78:52-53)

2. Ex-FBI chief of staff: Russia conspiracy came from Obama White House - WND

James Rybicki, who served as chief of staff to former FBI Director James Comey, suggested in sworn testimony that the Trump-Russia collusion investigation was orchestrated by Obama's White House in October 2016, according to newly released bureau documents. Lawyer Ty Clevenger obtained the documents as part of a lawsuit on behalf of businessman Ed Butowsky, who claims columnist Ellen Ratner told him murdered Democratic National Committee worker Seth Rich and his brother provided WikiLeaks the DNC emails before the 2016 election, not Russia.

Clevenger explained that the OSC prosecutors were noting that the FBI publicized its reactivation of the Clinton email investigation shortly before the 2016 election. It was in that context that one of the prosecutors commented that the White House wanted some kind of statement made about Russia. "It looks like the Obama White House put its thumb on the scale, pressuring intelligence agencies to adopt the Democratic National Committee's talking points, i.e., to blame the stolen emails on Russian hackers rather than an internal source (like Seth Rich)." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the complete exposure of all the ways President Trump has been slandered and undermined throughout his candidacy, transition and administration.

- Let their table become a snare before them, and their well-being a trap. (Psalm 69:22)

3. Chris Wray's FBI continues to cover for Team Comey's Russia shenanigans - The Hill

The FBI is going to court to fight the public release of a small number of documents the State Department sent to agents from Christopher Steele, the British intelligence operative and Hillary Clinton-paid political muckraker, during the 2016 election.

To hear the FBI tell it, the release of former Deputy Assistant Secretary Kathleen Kavalec's documents is tantamount to giving up the keys to President Trump's nuclear briefcase, aiding the enemy or assisting terrorists.

On its face, the FBI's behavior in the Citizens United case isn't about protecting national security secrets. It's about protecting the bureau's reputation from revelations its agents knew derogatory information about Steele and his work before they used his dossier to support a surveillance warrant targeting the Trump campaign and failed to disclose that information to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC). (Read more)

- Father, only You know the motives of Director Wray. We pray for the declassification and release of documents to facilitate oversight and accountability at the FBI.

- Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:13)

4. New California Law Requires Presidential Candidates to Disclose Tax Returns; Legal Challenge Likely - CBN News

California's Democrat governor signed a law Tuesday requiring presidential candidates to release their tax returns in order to appear on the state's primary ballot. The law will require candidates to submit tax returns for the most recent five years to California's Secretary of State at least 98 days before the primary. They will then be posted online for the public to view with certain personal information withheld.

The Trump campaign called the bill "unconstitutional," saying there were good reasons why California's former Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed a similar proposal last year. The U.S. Supreme court has previously stopped state efforts to add requirements on congressional candidates through ballot access rules. The courts, however, will likely have the final word. The bill's author, Democrat state Sen. Mike McGuire, said lawmakers made sure the law only applies to the state's primary ballot because the state Constitution says the state Legislature does not control access to the general election ballot. (Read more)

- Father, we pray this law will be struck down in the courts.

- Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them. (Luke 11:46)

5. US presidential envoy sent to Sweden for A$AP Rocky's trial - AP

American rapper A$AP Rocky pleaded not guilty to assault as his trial in Sweden opened Tuesday, a month after a street fight that landed him in jail and became a topic of U.S.-Swedish diplomacy. Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is accused with two others of beating a 19-year-old man in Stockholm on June 30. Swedish news agency TT said Trump sent the U.S. special presidential envoy for hostage affairs, Ambassador Robert O'Brien, to Stockholm to monitor the court proceedings and to show support for Mayers. "Ambassador O'Brien is traveling at the request of the White House. One of the most important tasks of the Department of State and U.S. embassies and consulates abroad is to provide assistance to U.S. citizens who are detained abroad," the spokesperson said.

A$AP Rocky's mother, Renee Black, also attended the proceedings. "This is a nightmare," Black was quoted by Swedish media as saying. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray the Swedish government will not pervert justice to satisfy its' immigrant population by wrongly convicting Rocky Mayers. We pray the Trump administration will hold Sweden accountable and bring him home safely.

- I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. (Isaiah 42:6-7)

6. Detroit News: Trump's Baltimore Tweets Should Inspire Dems to Debate Issues 'Tormenting Communities Nationwide' - Breitbart

The editorial page editor at the Detroit News wrote about the "upside" to President Donald Trump's recent tweets about rat infestation and violent crime in Baltimore as giving Democrats an on-ramp to talk about urban decay.

"The debaters will be speaking to a national audience, but they'll be standing on a stage in Detroit," Finley wrote. "That's a unique platform for addressing issues that are tormenting urban communities nationwide, but particularly in the industrial Midwestern states like Michigan that will be so critical to their hopes in 2020." Detroit and Baltimore are not twin cities by any stretch, but they share similar characteristics and the same challenges that face most big cities in America. "There needs to be an urban agenda as part of this campaign," Sheila Cockrel, former Detroit City Council member and CEO of Citizen Detroit, a civic engagement group, said in Finley's column. (Read more)

- Father God, we are grateful for this conversation within our nation and we pray residents of our inner cities will elect competent public servants.

- This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. (Deuteronomy 30:19)

7. Senators: Here's a bipartisan plan to fix America's roads and bridges - CNN

Written by: John Barrasso (R-WY) and Tom Carper (D-DE) are chairman and ranking member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. As members of the Senate committee with jurisdiction over our roads and bridges, we are committed to getting a major bipartisan highway infrastructure bill done. It starts with America's Transportation Infrastructure Act, legislation we are introducing to fix our roads, highways, and bridges.

Our response is simple. Give states the money, flexibility, and incentives to build safer and more modern highway and bridge systems that will connect more Americans, power our economy and endure the test of time for the next decade and beyond. Our legislation streamlines government regulations while prioritizing environmental protection so that projects are built better, faster, cheaper and smarter. (Read more)

- Father, we pray this funding will be used as intended to improve our nation's infrastructure.

- For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it? (Luke 14:28)

8. Nebraska, Wyoming issue emergency declarations as collapsed irrigation tunnel threatens farms - UPI

The governors of Nebraska and Wyoming issued emergency declarations following the collapse of an irrigation tunnel that transports water to 100,000 acres of cropland in both states.

The 102-year-old concrete tunnel collapsed early July 17 along the Fort Laramie-Gering irrigation canal in Wyoming, causing the tunnel to back up, breaching one of its walls and flooding nearby farmland. The water was then shut off, stopping delivery to tens of thousands of acres during a heatwave that threatens to leave crops dry and hurt the livelihoods of local farmers.

Dr. Xin Qiao, water and irrigation management specialist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension office, said that this drought could cost much more than the $2 million bill for the temporary repair, The Torrington Telegram reported. Corn farmers will lose more of their crops each day they don't receive water, and could lose between 80 percent and 90 percent of their yield if they don't have water within the next two weeks. (Read more)

- Father God, our farmers have suffered so much this year! We pray for the rain and irrigation they need to bring their crops to fruition.

- Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy. (Acts 14:7)

9. GRASSLEY: Trump's Changes To Investor Visa Program Are A Win For Rural America - Daily Caller

President Trump just issued new rules that got little attention from the mainstream media, but stand to bring fresh economic opportunity to America's rural and disadvantaged communities. The rules bring much needed reforms to the fraud-stricken "EB-5" investor visa program. It will raise the investment threshold from $500,000 to $900,000 for development in needy areas, and raise the threshold in non-needy areas from $1 million to $1.8 million.

The change will also tighten standards for what's considered a blighted or high-unemployment neighborhood. With President Trump's new rules in place, interest groups won't be able to draw the maps to benefit themselves anymore. Rural America will finally start to see the benefits of a nearly 30-year-old program. Main Streets and entrepreneurs in small towns will get a shot because the president keeps draining the swamp. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for these structural changes to this visa program and the tangible benefits it will bring to our communities in need.

- Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. (Psalm 41:1)

10. Judge Amy Coney Barrett lays waste to Obama-era kangaroo courts on college campuses - Washington Examiner

President Barack Obama's Department of Education published a now-famous "Dear Colleague Letter" in 2011, which compelled universities receiving federal Title IX funds to conduct an immediate investigation into allegations of sexual assault and effectuate a prompt adjudication.

Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Russlynn Ali decreed in the letter that universities, in judging sexual assault claims, must disavow the clear and convincing evidentiary standard of proof in favor of the far more forgiving and error-prone preponderance of the evidence standard.

The manifest injustice that has resulted from this due process downgrade is legion. But a recent United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit decision, authored by Judge Amy Coney Barrett (who is on President Trump's shortlist for the Supreme Court), delivered a powerful rebuke to the college show trials encouraged by the Obama-era Department of Education. (Read more)

- Father God, thank You for this ruling and the re-establishment of due process on our college campuses.

- How can a young man stay pure? Only by living in the word of God and walking in its truth. (Psalm 119:9)

11. ANOTHER WIN FOR THE TRUMP TEAM - JUDGE RULES AGAINST DNC - Fox News

A federal judge (Judge John Koeltl of the Southern District of New York - appointed by Bill Clinton) just dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Democrat National Committee against the Trump campaign, Donald Trump, Jr., Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner, George Papadopoulos, Richard Gates (whose connections with Russia were "threadbare," the judge said), Roger Stone, Joseph Mifsud, and Julian Assange.

The judge ruled that the lawsuit had a substantive legal defect and could not be refiled. The DNC had accused the Trump team of "stealing and disseminating the DNC's materials." However, Judge John Koeltl, said that the DNC's argument was "entirely divorced" from the facts. This is yet another win for the Trump team against false allegations without any facts to back them up. (Fox News) Read more.

- Father God, we thank You that our courts, which require evidence, are not continuing the Russia collusion charade. We pray that the lies told and circulated about President Trump and his associates will also be discredited in our media and the court of public opinion.

- I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. (Luke 10:19)

Prophetic Times: Ad hominem redefining truth

Have you ever noticed that when people in a discussion have no facts or logic to back up their argument, they often resort to name calling or labeling? When this happens, it is a sure sign that they are losing the argument. There is actually a term that describes this behavior. It's called ad hominem. Ad hominem is defined by Merriam-Webster as: "appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect;marked by or being an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made." This is exactly what people are doing these days when they cannot support their arguments and someone disagrees with them. The result is a labeling of the most undesirable nature, such as bigot, racist, etc.

Merriam-Webster goes on to explain, "Ad hominem literally means "to the person" in New Latin (Latin as first used in post-medieval texts). In centuries past, this adjective usually modified "argument." The newer sense of "ad hominem," which suggests an attack on an opponent's character instead of his or her argument, appeared only in the last century, but it is the sense more often heard today. The word still refers to putting personal issues above other matters, but perhaps because of its old association with "argument," "ad hominem" has become, in effect, "against the person."" Hence, the modern use of ad hominem is an attack on a person's character as a key strategy in arguing a point.
This is very important that we know and understand this method of argument. It is in the news daily. The recent row between President Donald Trump, Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD), and Al Sharpton is an excellent example. Trump has attacked Cummings for being in Congress a long time, yet his district has not seen any progress. Rather than defend the progress Cummings believes he has made in Baltimore, the strategy is to paint Trump as a racist and bigot. Sharpton has joined the chorus with the news media. It would be interesting to know just what Cummings has done for his district, which is a dangerous and unappealing place to live. But because Cummings is black, as is most of those living in his district, the ad hominem immediately turned the discussion to racism and bigotry as the main issue.
Given the old adage that if you say a lie often enough, it becomes the truth, ad hominem arguments take a toll on their targets, especially in these days of 24/7 media. The uninformed, skeptical, cynical and suspicious will naturally gravitate toward what they want to believe rather than check the true nature of the situation. Isaiah 59:14-15 illustrates this modern phenomena of ad hominem: "And judgment is turned away backward, and justice stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.Yes, truth fails; and he that departs from evil makes himself a prey." These are indeed prophetic times as truth is being redefined by ad hominem. Be aware. Seek the truth. Find what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER

"Pray continually." (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Lyrics

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! That calls me from a world of care, And bids me at my Father's throne Make all my wants and wishes known. In seasons of distress and grief, My soul has often found relief And oft escaped the tempter's snare By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! The joys I feel, the bliss I share, Of those whose anxious spirits burn With strong desires for thy return! With such I hasten to the place Where God my Savior shows His face, And gladly take my station there, And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! Thy wings shall my petition bear To Him whose truth and faithfulness Engage the waiting soul to bless. And since He bids me seek His face, Believe His Word and trust His grace, I'll cast on Him my every care, And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! May I thy consolation share, Till, from Mount Pisgah's lofty height, I view my home and take my flight: This robe of flesh I'll drop and rise To seize the everlasting prize; And shout, while passing through the air, "Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!"

Scientists discover 'plasma tsunamis' are responsible for sunspots

Rolling waves of plasma known as "solar tsunamis" could be causing the sudden end of solar cycles, according to scientists.

Researchers identified so-called "terminator events" that mark the end of sunspot cycles, which could explain the process of how the sun transitions from periods of lower activity to higher activity.

The study, which was published in the journal Solar Physics, examined almost 140 years of data collected from the ground and by NASA's Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory and Solar Dynamics Observatory, two spacecraft that have been staring at the sun for years.

According to CNET, as researchers observed UV light coming from the sun's surface, they saw how bright points of light would appear at high latitudes and move toward the sun's equator over a period of decades.

Once the bright points disappear, another huge burst of activity would take place, which marks the start of the next sunspot cycle, researchers said.

"The evidence for terminators has been hidden in the observational record for more than a century, but until now, we didn't know what we were looking for," Scott McIntosh, an NCAR scientist who worked on both studies, said in a press statement.

Scientists have long wanted to better understand the sun's cycles. When solar activity spikes, flares, sunspots and solar storms can impact satellites stationed near Earth and space weather.

NASA's Solar Parker Probe is currently taking pictures and gathering information from inside the sun's atmosphere. (Fox News)
