1. Syria's Assad Makes Rare Public Appearance - ABC News
Syria's state-run TV aired footage of President Bashar Assad performing Eid prayers in a mosque in Damascus on Sunday, his first appearance in public after a bombing in the Syrian capital last month that killed the country's defense minister and three other top security officials.
- Father, we ask that President Assad will have a vision of Jesus amid his prayers in the mosque, and that he will be enlightened to the way of salvation through the loving Savior Jesus Christ. Bring him out of his world of darkness and shed light upon his soul. In Jesus' Name.
- "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"(Matthew 16:26)
2. Iran commander 'welcomes' possible Israeli strike - AP
A senior Iranian commander says a possible Israeli airstrike against his country's nuclear facilities is "welcome" because it would give Iran a reason to retaliate and "get rid of" the Jewish state "forever."
- God, You are the sovereign power over Israel and its people, and it is You who will guide them in all their decisions in dealing with Iran. It is the Lord who supports and sustains Israel, and there will be no power in heaven or on earth who will be able to "get rid of the Jewish state forever." The favor of God is upon them forever. In Jesus' Name.
- "And I will bless them that bless Israel, and curse him that curses them: and in Israel shall all families of the earth be blessed."(Genesis 12:3)
3. Arab Spring Run Amok: 'Brotherhood' Starts Crucifixions - WND
The Arab Spring takeover of Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood has run amok, with reports from several different media agencies that the radical Muslims have begun crucifying opponents of newly installed President Mohammed Morsi.
- Father God, step into the midst of the Brotherhood and the radical Muslims, and bring them down to a pit of destruction unless any of them repent and forsake their evil way. Drive all their deadly plans into the ground and put in place the cross-purpose of the Lord God in the land of Egypt. May good overcome evil, and may the long-standing fighting come to an end. May the Lord God arise in their midst - and draw the people to deep repentance and humility - and their souls be saved from eternal death and darkness. In Jesus' Name.

4. After drought blights crops, U.S. farmers face toxin threat - Reuters
The worst U.S. drought in five decades has parched the land and decimated crops. It now threatens to deal a second blow to farmers, who may have to throw out metric tons of toxic feed.
- Lord God, You are the great Creator of all, and nothing happening in the world today is independent of Your great care. So we plead for Your great mercy over this situation - over all livestock, crops, and land. Walk over our farms, and our food supply. Work a miracle that will reverse this deadly situation, and breathe new life over our crops. Give us healthy meat, and food to eat from Your bountiful hand. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

Prophetic end times: What has America done?
World Net Daily is reporting that Muslim Brotherhood operatives have begun crucifying those who oppose the newly elected Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, also a Muslim Brotherhood leader. The United States, at the behest of the occupant of the White House, aided the Muslim Brotherhood in taking over Egypt in the name of "democracy." Since the election, Morsi has dismissed all of the pro-American military leadership and replaced them with Muslim Brotherhood commanders; he has moved to improve ties to the terrorist group Hezbollah; and he is slated to hold a summit in Iran this month--the first official visit to Iran by an Egyptian president since 1979. This is the fruit of American foreign policy.
The longstanding murderous power struggle over Islamic domination between the Sunnis and Shiites seems to be reaching a more civil level. Last week, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attended a summit in Mecca at the invitation of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah. The two appeared friendly to the public and Ahmadinejad was seen welcoming other participants side by side with Abdullah. They also sat next to each other during meetings. The main public relations value was that they were showing unity to the Muslim world. The Sunni Egyptian rift with the Iranian Shiites appears also to be mending at the highest level possible as Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood reaches out to Hezbollah and Iran.
There will be many Muslims who will oppose the fence mending. And they are to be crucified or beheaded according to the Koran--Sura 5:33: "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land." One is considered waging war against Allah if one disagrees with the Islamic leadership--a mixture of government, religion and military. Reporters believe that it is only a matter of time before Christians will also be crucified in Egypt.
There are many verses in the Koran that instruct Muslims to kill Christians and Jews. Islam is not a peaceful religion. It is an antichrist system. 2 John 7 says, "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Yeshua Ha Mashiach is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist." The Koran specifically says that Allah has no son. Koran Sura 23:91 says, "Never has Allah begotten a son, nor is there any other god besides Him." America's foreign policy is supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood's goal is to establish global Islamic rule that the messiah of Islam will return, the Mahdi, and establish the peace of Islam on earth for seven years. What has America done?

Obamacare & Rationing
The Obama campaign and congressional Democrats are stuck in a very unusual position. They are playing defense on Medicare and they are scrambling for a response. Consider this excerpt from yesterday's Miami Herald:
"Obamacare was supposed to be President Barack Obama's legacy. But it's looking like a political millstone. . . Democrats have unexpectedly had to play defense over Obamacare's Medicare cuts even as Mitt Romney picked Congressman Paul Ryan as a vice-presidential running mate . . ."
Knowing full well that picking Paul Ryan as his running mate would invite Democrat "Mediscare" tactics over Ryan's reform plans, the Romney campaign was prepared and unleashed a broadside of ads accusing Obama of cutting $716 billion out of Medicare to fund Obamacare.
Team Obama's response has been that they are not cutting benefits, just payments to doctors, hospitals and insurance companies. Oh, that's all -- they're just not going to pay the people who care for the elderly.
America's seniors aren't that stupid. They know that more and more doctors are refusing to take new Medicare patients because they can't afford the losses, as this Forbes column notes.
In its own way, this is a form of rationing -- a policy decision that will result in fewer options and less care for senior citizens.

"The Southern Poverty Law Center is a Defamatory Hate Organization"

One of the beautiful things about America is that we have an unencumbered right to free speech. Unlike in many European countries where there are strict anti-defamation laws, in America one has the right to say hateful things about another person or group of people (as long as there is no incitement of violence). Likewise, one has the right to accuse others of engaging in hateful and bigoted activities, irrespective of the veracity of the charge.
Nevertheless, just because we have the right to engage in libel and defamatory name calling, it doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.
Yesterday's shooting at the Family Research Council brings to mind something that has bothered me about self-described civil rights organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center. For years, the SPLC has ingratiated themselves to the public by evincing an image of a politically neutral organization that serves as the one-stop resource for information on bigoted and violent organizations. But instead of focusing exclusively on true "hate organizations" like white supremacists and Islamic jihadists, the SPLC has pursued a political agenda in recent years to defame conservative organizations by lumping them in with neo-Nazis and skinheads.
The SPLC has prided itself as the preeminent authority on racism because they have gathered every last morsel of data on neo-Nazi organizations with a membership 3.4 people, most of which have never been heard from. However, they use their reputation as the authority on white supremacist groups as a front to assail legitimate conservative policy organizations by seamlessly lumping them in with white supremacists and labeling them as hate groups. They list people like David Horowitz and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach in the same "hate reports" as white supremacists serving prison time for murder.
In 2010, SPLC labeled the Family Research Council as a hate group and listed them together with no-name neo-Nazi groups on their site. They did the same for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a group that simply advocates lower levels of immigration out of fiscal and national security concerns. When did we get to a point where groups that have a different political agenda from the SPLC are branded as hate groups?
The SPLC would have you believe that an organization that doesn't want their children to be exposed to a homosexual curriculum or opposes open homosexual promiscuity in the military is a hate group. If you're concerned about your children being exposed to literature about sex-change operations, you are a racist according to them. Anyone who opposes their licentious agenda and upholds Judeo-Christian values - the very values upon which this country was founded - is tantamount to a white supremacist. In their view, FRC is like the Westboro Baptist Church. It's surprising that they haven't yet labeled God a hater or condemned the Bible from the public square.
If I were to stoop to the same intellectual level as the SPLC, I would label them a hate group for equating civil rights to the so-called plight of transgendered individuals. (Read more)

According to the original report by longtime military correspondent Bill Gertz:
A Russian nuclear-powered attack submarine armed with long-range cruise missiles operated undetected in the Gulf of Mexico for several weeks and its travel in strategic U.S. waters was only confirmed after it left the region, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.
It is only the second time since 2009 that a Russian attack submarine has patrolled so close to U.S. shores.
The stealth underwater incursion in the Gulf took place at the same time Russian strategic bombers made incursions into restricted U.S. airspace near Alaska and California in June and July, and highlights a growing military assertiveness by Moscow."
While the MSM has almost completely ignored the story, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) sent a letter to Navy officials at the Pentagon officials demanding answers. The full text of the letter is here.

Fourth Major Court Victory Influenced by Operation Outcry
In an amazing and incredible victory for the truth, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a South Dakota statute which makes abortionists tell women abortion exposes them to increased risk for "depression and related psychological distress," and "increased risk of suicidal ideation [thoughts] and suicide."
This is the third major victory where a lower court explicitly uses the portion of the Supreme Court's opinion based on the testimony of Operation Outcry women in reaching its conclusion that a statute should be upheld. That makes four major victories including the original Supreme Court decision, Gonzalez v. Carhart.
Here is the critical quote from the 8th Circuit Court:
Based on the record, the studies submitted by the State are sufficiently reliable to support the truth of the proposition that the relative risk of suicide and suicide ideation [Ed. - thoughts] is higher for women who abort their pregnancies compared to women who give birth or have not become pregnant. It also is worth noting that Planned Parenthood does not challenge the disclosure that "[d]epression and related psychological distress" is a "known medical risk[] of the [abortion] procedure." S.D.C.L. § 34-23A-10.1(1)(e)(i); see also Gonzales v. Carhart, 550 U.S. 124, 159 (2007) (noting that "[s]evere depression and loss of esteem can follow" an abortion). As a matter of common sense, the onset of depression and psychological distress also would increase one's risk of suicide and suicide ideation. See, e.g., Ottar Bjerkesetet al., Gender Differences in the Association of Mixed Anxiety and Depression with Suicide, 192 Brit. J. Psychiatry 474, 474 (2008) ("Depression is thought to be the most important antecedent of suicide . . . ."). Thus, there appears to be little dispute about the truthfulness of the required disclosure.
In the Gonzales v. Carhart decision cited above by the 8th Circuit, the Supreme Court cited p. 22-24 of The Justice Foundation's Brief on Behalf of Sandra Cano and 180 Women Hurt By Abortion, which included the Operation Outcry women's testimony.

. . . Planned Parenthood has 90 days to decide if they want to take the case to the United States Supreme Court. Earlier in this case we filed an Amicus Brief with the 8th Circuit Court on behalf of 2,211 Operation Outcry Women Hurt by Abortion, which the Court should have and probably read, but did not accept for filing. They also rejected the Amicus Brief of the American Psychological Association contending women are not hurt by abortion.
