"When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place." (2 Chronicles 7:13-15)

A Special Note to All our Prayer Partners:
Praying for our Nation: An Introduction
Tonight, the fate of our nation is weighing in the balance, and soon its destiny will be in your hands.
America is unique among the nations of the world, for we were the first nation that has allowed its citizens to choose their leaders, once every two years for Congress, and once every four years for the President, on Election Day.
On that one day, Election Day, the citizens of our country are actually bestowed a mantle to GOVERN, according to our Constitution! We are not the helpless slaves of a totalitarian regime, but we are a free people -- free to choose who will govern us, and free to vote as our own conscience dictates.
We cannot take this freedom for granted, but instead, every one of us must learn about the candidates whose names will appear on the ballot on November 6th, and then we must VOTE on Election Day.
But America is unique, too, in one other and most significant way: we are a Christian nation, and we are a praying nation, as well!
And it is written: "The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16) Hence, according to the Word of God, our prayers, and our fastings in advance of this election, can and will "avail much" to prepare the hearts of our people to make a wise decision when they go to the polls on November 6.
In the months and weeks now preceding this election, a number of ministries have called for special prayer initiatives, strategies, gatherings and assemblies, all with one major theme: it is time to fast and to pray for this national election and for the future destiny of our land.
Below please find a number of those initiatives -- each one endorsed by our Executive Board. In addition, we will continue to do our very best to share the many opportunities to "enter into" the place of intercession in the days ahead. We then encourage you to seek our Lord and to allow Him to show you which of these programs He would have you to support.
Tonight, let's join hearts and hands thanking Him that we still live in a free nation -- free to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others along the way.
And let's join in ONE CRY of fervent prayer that this nation, under God, indivisible, will NOT be taken over by tyrants of many stripes, but that GOD has ordained our SOVEREIGNTY is RESTRAINED now and forevermore.

40 Days of Prayer is a call to fervent prayer for our elections. We are in desperate days as a nation as the spiritual, moral and financial fabric of our nation is disintegrating around us. Believers need to pray as never before. America's National Prayer Committee and its member organizations are putting out a call to pray 40 days prior to the elections (September 28 - November 6).
The website will be continually under construction as new information is added! There will be links to a variety of ministries and organizations supporting 40 or even 50 days of prayer prior to the elections, a free election prayer guide for adults and children/families, creative ideas to encourage believers to go to the polls, etc. One thing this site will NOT be is political. Here are the three major focal points of our prayers:

WHY PRAY AT NIGHT?
What are the advantages to all-night prayer? And what is gained "for lack of sleep?" Read on . . .
There are countless times in Scripture where the battle has been won OVERNIGHT. For example:
Recall Esther, whose uncle Mordecai went to bed one night, thinking he would be hung the next morning on the gallows Haman was constructing. But, OVERNIGHT, something changed. The gallows meant for Mordecai were used instead to hang the wicked Haman. (Esther 7:9)
Recall Moses, who led the Israelites OVERNIGHT, through the Red Sea, to safety. (Exodus 14: 20 -23)
And finally, we recall the story of the four lepers, recounted in 2 Kings 7: 5-8
"At dusk they got up and went to the camp of the Arameans. When they reached the edge of the camp, no one was there, 6 for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, "Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!" 7 So they got up and fled in the dusk and abandoned their tents and their horses and donkeys. They left the camp as it was and ran for their lives.
8 The men who had leprosy reached the edge of the camp, entered one of the tents and ate and drank. . ."
In each case, the enemy of God's people was DEFEATED as a battle raged at night!
Let's take the battle, when the battle needs to be taken: at the exact time the battle must be waged. Praise God for His Victory!! Has He not, indeed, designed the strategy of WATCHING IN THE NIGHT, "for such a time as this?"

A Solemn Assembly in Washington, D.C.
Truly we are at the precipice of a societal migration from our Judeo-Christian foundation. Generations are forgetting the God of our Fathers. Therefore, the National Day of Prayer Task Force has called a Solemn Assembly in Washington D.C. for such a time as this. A unified gathering of more than 80 prayer ministries is about to take place that may shape the course of history and you have been summoned.
The urgency of the moment and the prompting of God has paved the way for October 4 -7, 2012, to be a moment in time where God's people are standing in the gap on behalf of all Americans as perhaps Moses did for Israel (Exodus 32, Psalm 106). 50 DAYS OF DECISION
September 17th - November 5th, 2012
A season of prayer and fasting to seek God for the destiny of our nation.
Some Sober Thoughts
Why 50 Days of Decision, and why now? Are we who have partnered to facilitate this season suggesting that we have heard from God that it is now or never for America, and that 50 DOD is the final train out before destruction? No. But please consider soberly for a moment; do you know when that train is scheduled depart? Do you know when and where the next terrorist attack or natural disaster on our shores will occur? Will you be prepared? Will you be able to recover if you are affected (and you will be affected; at least to some extent)? Will you even survive? Are we getting melodramatic now? We don't think so.
If we read our Bibles, we see that God sometimes warned an individual, or His people, day after day, year after year about things that needed to change. Often for a while, nothing happened. And many therefore decided that probably nothing was going to happen, and went on their merry way. Until one day, which dawned like any other, the plague began, or the famine set in, or the enemy hordes came over the horizon. And they suddenly realized too late that their complacency was about to cost them everything.
But we live in America, you say. We more or less just watch the video footage of these things and get by unscathed. Please consider, however; have you not seen the signs of the times? Is it not obvious that America has at this juncture come under the judgments of God? Consider all the various traumatic events which have filled the news headlines in the last 11 years. America is on a collision course with trouble. More trouble. Big trouble. Apocalyptic trouble? If you smirk at the thought we can only pray that you will get a major reality check before your fragile faux-reality is torn in two like a sheet of paper before your eyes.
We wish, like you might, that we could all return to Mayberry. But that will certainly not occur without Divine intervention. And Divine intervention does not come to a callous, unthankful, selfish, hardhearted individual, church, or nation. What we can expect, rather, is Divine judgment. The question is not if, but when and how. Read more.

is stirring MANY organizations and ministries -- both known and unknown -- in a
mighty orchestration of fasting, prayer and repentance.

THE NATIONAL DAY OF REPENTANCE
Beginning at Sundown in each time zone on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, and lasting for 24 hours
The National Day of Repentance is a 24-hour, grassroots gatheirng of believers in Jesus Christ, September 25, 2012, to humble ourselves and to seek God's help for our nation.
God willing, there will be thousands of events at the grassroots level on this year's National Day of Repentance, during the 24 hours beginning at sundown in each community on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Seek the Holy Spirit as to an outline of a program for your group or church. You may wish to begin and end with worship, giving plenty of time for silence and soul-searching. It's not about judgment; we've all fallen short of the glory of God. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. During the service you may wish to provide an open microphone for persons to pray spontaneously. Pray for unity in the body of Christ [ John 17: 13-26] around this event which seeks support by many ministries and denominations across the body of Christ. You may also wish to teach on the many Scriptures referring to repentance, many of which are found on this website. You may consider taking time to teach the remarkable, true stories of how repentance was a key factor in God's Victories through David [Psalm 51], Jehoshaphat, [chapter 20:1-22], Daniel [chapter 9: 1-19], Esther [chapter 4: 1-17], and Nehemiah [chapter 1: 3-11]. There are similar examples in American Christian history starting in 1774 found on this website showing God's Hand to bless our nation once there was a national call for repentance. You may also wish to focus on Christ and His Dominion and the zeal of the Lord in establishing the increase of His government and His peace for which there will be no end. [ Isaiah 9: 6-7]
This National Day of Repentance is set to coincide with Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. The event taking place on Yom Kippur in no way is meant to preempt or replace what Yom Kippur means for the Jewish people, but is meant to honor the Jewish people's divinely mandated calendar (Lev 23:1-2), and to honor the holiness and seriousness of that day. It also honors the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. Romans 1:16. The Lord Himself said [Leviticus 23:27-31] that the Day of Atonement would be a "holy convocation", a day to "afflict" one's soul, to do no work; a "statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings."
During the 24 hour service we suggest you set aside time for prayer for the Jewish people, who are now under attack. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray also about the place of Yeshua in history: past, present and future. Thank the Living God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that 2 Chronicles 7:14 applies to Israel primarily, but also now for us believers, is a way to heal all nations, including our nation in 2012: " If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Dear Praying Friends GOD is stirring the hearts of His people to pray for Jerusalem as never before. First Thursday evening monthly Prayer Calls - Fast and Pray
The National Day of Prayer Task Force (NDPTF) is convening First Thursday prayer calls every month so please mark the following dates: September 6th, October 4th (yes it will continue during our Summons), November 1, December 6th. We must not back down, but step forward in prayer.
We will pray for the 7 centers of power at least through the end of 2012 with a call to Fast/Pray for our nation. We will utilize our NDP leaders and others as able to help lead these much needed prayer times . . .
These nationwide conference calls begin at 10:00 p.m. EDT and continue for up to two hours.

Jesus, the early church, Moses, Esther, Nehemiah, and Daniel all fasted and prayed! We will fast and ask our Father in heaven to provide a continuous and nation-wide canopy of "divine intervention" as we pray for righteousness and righteous leaders in our United States of America. We are NOT endorsing parties or candidates. Only our Lord knows how a person will respond once given great power. We are knocking and asking Him to give us righteous leaders in every point of power in our country!

Dear Praying Friends GOD is stirring the hearts of His people to pray for Jerusalem as never before. Christians from China to Germany and from Kenya to Brazil are raising raise their voices in fervent intercession with His Son, on behalf of Jerusalem and all her inhabitants, both Jew and Arab alike in response to what is happening in the world today, and in alignment with God's word, (Psalm 122:6,7.)
I am asking you today to join me in this global chorus of prayer.
We are weeks away from a powerful moment when on Sunday, October 7th, tens of millions of Christians in literally every corner of this planet will unite for the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ), a day specifically set aside the first Sunday of every October for the Church to gather and pray for Jerusalem.
