Lobbying Reform: It's Back!

Lobbying Reform: It's Back!

As our latest efforts show, there is no limit to what we can accomplish when FRC's work on Capitol Hill is echoed by the voices of our grassroots supporters. Together, FRC and its friends helped to shape the Senate's Lobbying Reform bill that passed last month without a provision that could have done significant damage to nonprofit groups' efforts to inform citizens. The issue now faces similar challenges in the House, where the liberal leadership will do anything to muffle the influence of FRC and other conservative organizations. While we can take pride in the fact that the current bill does not threaten the free speech of nonprofit groups, there is still a chance that a comparable amendment could be introduced by one of Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) allies. As the bill moves through subcommittee this week, FRC will keep a watchful eye on any threat to your right to be informed and to respond to your elected officials.
