Iran in the News

Iran in the News

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud."
(Psalm 94:2)

1. Bush's 'About Face': Talk to Syria, Iran - Israel National News

The Bush administration, less than two weeks after telling Israel to stay away even from "exploratory talks" with Syria, has decided to invite Damascus and Tehran for talks, which may begin in the next two weeks. However, officials added that the only issue to be discussed is Iraqi security. "The agenda is being set up by the government of Iraq," White House press secretary Tony Snow told reporters.

2. Hizbullah warns US, Israel against Iran attack - Ynet News

The deputy chief of Hizbullah warned Tuesday that any "military adventure" by the United States and Israel against Iran would have dangerous consequences across the Mideast.

3. Iran oil bourse to open soon - www.presstv.ir

Iran's petroleum exchange will begin operation in the near future, said the secretary of the country's High Council for Free Trade and Industrial Zones on Saturday. Mahmud Salahi said Iran decided to establish a euro-based oil bourse on the Persian Gulf island of Kish, because "there was no such oil trading body in the region." "Iran's oil bourse could help many countries transact petroleum under more favorable conditions," he said.

• Send forth a "withering spirit" against this plot of the Iranians, who want to undercut and weaken our own currency by selling their oil only on a Euro -- not a dollar -- basis. Pray that the nations will not be intimidated by this insidious plot to control them.
"Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; Speak the word, but it will not stand, For God is with us.” (Isaiah 8:10) "He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot carry out their plans." (Job 5:12)
