The Daily Brief

1. House hopes to move own debt plan, but may not have the votes - The Hill

House Republicans on Tuesday said they hoped to vote Tuesday on a new fiscal plan, but doubts immediately sprouted up over whether they can muster the votes to pass it. The new House GOP plan would modify an emerging Senate fiscal deal that would end the government shutdown, fund the government through Jan. 15 and raise the debt ceiling to Feb. 7. It would do so by delaying ObamaCare's medical device tax for two years, and by scrapping ObamaCare tax subsidies for members of Congress and top Cabinet officials, lawmakers and aides said. (Read more)

- Continue to take the "hammer of God" and tear down every wall that is in place, causing schisms and divisions on the Hill over the issues of the budget and what to do about our debt. Call forth the "Kingdom answer" that is forthcoming, that will settle all matters according to the will of God -- including the defunding of Obamacare -- praising God that His Word, when spoken forth, will not return to Him void without accomplishing the purpose for which it was sent. (Is. 55:11)

- "Is not My word like a fire?" says the Lord, "And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" (Jer. 23:29)

2. Issa: Any Deal Must Address 'The Excesses That Need to Be Reined In' - CNSNews.com

Rep. Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, told CNN he hopes President Obama "is not playing games with Republicans" who intend to hold him to his promise "that we are going to make real entitlement reform, and drive down the budget -- or the deficit -- by something other than huge tax increases. . . I look forward to the government reopening and getting back to really dealing with entitlements and with waste in government," Issa said. (Read more)

- Offer praise unto the LORD for calm, deliberate, and reasonable voices like those of Congressman Issa. As we intercede for the righteous on the Hill -- those who seek to govern by Biblical standards -- thank the Lord that He will cause them to turn the battle at the gate. (Isaiah 28:6) And in the end, there will be peace.

- "Evildoers will bow down in the presence of the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous." (Proverbs 14:19)

3. 11,588,500 Words: Obamacare Regs 30x as Long as Law - CNSNews.com

Bureaucracies in the Obama Administration have thus far published approximately 11,588,500 words of final Obamacare regulations, while there are only 381,517 words in the Obamacare law itself. That means unelected federal officials have now written 30 words of regulations for each word in the law. (Read more) http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/penny-starr/11588500-words-obamacare-regs-30x-long-law

- Continue to agree that this monstrocity has already become sawdust in the Hand of the Lord. It is finished!

- "You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways."
(Job 22:28)

4. A job engine sputters as hospitals cut staff - USA Today

Hospitals, a reliable source of employment growth in the recession and its aftermath, are starting to cut thousands of jobs amid falling insurance payments and inpatient visits. The payroll cuts are surprising because the Affordable Care Act (ACA), whose implementation took a big step forward this month, is eventually expected to provide health coverage to as many as 30 million additional Americans. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that we will continue to have a healthy health care system. This is another example of the terrible impact of the Affordable Health Care Act. Please intervene and help those who are trying to block its implementation. We ask for Your mercy and Your help for those who are losing their jobs. Lord, You are the Omniscient One, so we turn to You now, asking Your Holy Spirit to grant the wisdom needed. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- "But the tongue of the wise promotes health." (Proverbs 12:18)

5. DOD Still Barring 50 Priests from Administering Sacraments - CNSNews.com

Locks Up Eucharist, Priest Sues

After the Obama administration, for the second Sunday in a row, continued to prohibit approximately 50 Catholic priests from saying Mass and administering other sacraments at U.S. military facilities around the world, Father Ray Leonard, who serves as the Catholic chaplain at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia, filed suit Monday against the Department of Defense, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, the Department of the Navy, and Navy Secretary Ray Mabus.

DOD is prohibiting Father Leonard and the other Catholic priests from administering the sacraments and providing other services to their congregations even though two weeks ago Congress passed, and President Barack Obama signed, a law that instructed DOD to maintain on the job and keep paying contract employees who were supporting the troops. - It has come to our attention that multitudes of saints around the world, who themselves are suffering under persecution, are now praying for the church in America to find the strength to not compromise and to survive these times in our own nation. How humbling this is to us! Pray in agreement with these saints, many of whom are "suffering in silence" tonight in prison cells. Praise God for each one of them.

- "But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold." (Job 23:10)

6. Queens Residents Wake Up To Find Section Of Town Vandalized - CBS News, Local, New York City

Residents of the Bellerose section of Queens woke up Friday to find messages of hate scrawled around their neighborhood. Swastikas marked many cars, a fence, and a garage, CBS 2′s Tamara Leitner reported. Carolyn Lyew said her blue Toyota was covered in swastikas near the corner of 87th Avenue and 256th Street.

- Heavenly Father, it seems that anti Semitism is raising it's ugly head even more. Father, we repent for our nation that this is occurring. Keep these people in Your care, and position Your warrior angels around them. Draw them unto You and redeem them if they will come. We pray in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

7. South Dakota ranchers reel after 'catastrophic' storm leaves up to 100,000 cattle dead - Fox News

Ranchers in South Dakota fear they may lose everything after a freak storm dumped up four feet of snow in parts of the state last week, killing as many as 100,000 cattle. Matt Kammerer, a 45-year-old rancher whose family has operated in South Dakota's Meade County since 1882, told FoxNews.com that he lost 60 cattle in the storm, or one-third of his entire herd. " ... It's just dead cow after dead cow, where they've gotten caught in dams, streams, fences, you name it. They're dead everywhere." "You're talking about $120,000 of assets that are just gone," Kammerer said Friday by phone. "And we still owe the banks, too. It's like driving a brand-new pickup off a cliff and still having to make payments."

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, we ask for Your comfort, peace, and wisdom to fall on the ranchers who have lost so much in this monstrous storm. It involves their future livelihood, where for many it will prove to be too costly. Be in the midst of this situation and draw these people to You, saving those who have yet to know You. We ask in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

- "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." (John 14:18)

8. Iran rejects West's demand to ship out enriched uranium - BBC

Iran will not allow any of its enriched uranium to be shipped abroad, the deputy foreign minister says, rejecting a key demand of Western powers. Abbas Araqchi was quoted by state media as saying that "shipping the material abroad is our red line". The comments come ahead of key talks this week in Geneva between Iran and international negotiators over the nuclear dispute. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for these talks in Geneva. Your eyes will be there. Show them what to do we pray. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- "The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good." (Proverbs 15:3)

9. China calls for 'de-Americanized' world - WND

The looming prospect of a US default on debt prompted China to call for the world to "de-Americanise", amid warnings of a new global recession.

- Lord, we pray that China will not be successful in this call for the "de-Americanization" of the world. We also pray for a harvest of souls to continue to come forth from that nation. We pray for Your mercy in the face of a global recession and the collapse of the global economy. Instead, we pray for the strengthening of our economy and the U.S. dollar. Lord God, we thank You that it is written that "nothing is impossible with you," so we offer this prayer as an act of faith, in Jesus' Name, amen.

1. Arrests made in suspected West Bank terror attack - ICEJ News

Israeli security forces arrested three Palestinians over the weekend on suspicion of involvement in the murder of IDF officer Col. (res.) Sraya Ofer on Friday near his home in Brosh Habika, a vacation village in the Jordan Valley. While cautioning that their investigation is still incomplete, sources indicated that they believe it was a terrorist attack and not a criminal act, as some media reports had suggested. The Shin Bet (Israel security agency) said that two of the suspects confessed to the murder. In related news, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the weekly cabinet meeting Sunday morning that the recent uptick of violence in the West Bank and on Israel's other borders has disturbed what had until recently been the "quietest year in over a decade.

2. IDF uncovers massive tunnel from Gaza into Israel - ICEJ News

Israelis awoke on Sunday to the news that a massive and complex tunnel has been uncovered by the IDF leading from Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, ruled by the Islamist terror militia Hamas, under the border and almost to the doorstep of an Israeli community. The tunnel was constructed of concrete sent into Gaza by Israel as a humanitarian gesture to allow Palestinians living in the Strip to build new homes, and was also wired with phone lines and an electrical network presumably also built with supplies from Israel. "Hamas invested tens of millions of dollars into constructing this, lamented IDF Southern Command chief Maj.-Gen. Sami Turgeman. "This is a terrorism industry. Instead of investing in schools, or civilian industry and employment, Hamas invests in terror."

3. Iranian official claims to arrest Israeli spies - ICEJ News

Iran's official Mehr news agency reported on Saturday that security officials in the Islamic Republic have arrested three Israeli spies who confessed to recruiting Iranian citizens to sell information to them about the activities of the Iranian military and government. Without showing pictures or giving any other details of the suspects, the report included other vague details about a trial in the country's southeast, without saying what sentences might have resulted from the proceedings. On a brighter note, Britain's Daily Telegraph reported Thursday that Iranian officials have cancelled an event scheduled for November which regularly features fierce anti- Israel and anti-Zionism speakers. At a previous "New Horizons Conference" former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad demanded that Israel be "wiped off the map."

Christian Sentenced to 15 Years Hard Labor in N. Korea Sees Mother - CBN

Kenneth Bae, a Korean-American missionary imprisoned in North Korea for the past 11 months, recently got a visit from his mother.

Bae was a tour guide who encouraged prayer for the reunification of South and North Korea. He was arrested last November and accused of "hostile acts" against the government. He is serving a 15 year sentence of hard labor.

His family said Bae suffers from diabetes, an enlarged heart, liver problems, and back pain.

Bae's mother, Myunghee Bee, visited him at a hospital where he has been held since August.

The two embraced and wept during their 90-minute meeting. The visit did not guarantee a release for Bae.

Overcoming tyranny

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

Every day I receive emails from people who are so frustrated about the evil things government is doing that they want to know what to do. They pray. They write letters to congressmen. They make phone calls. They fax. Nothing seems to work. True that! Nothing is working because the scoundrels in office don't care about what you think or want. They believe they know better. So when they are not listening, what do we do? The truckers had a great idea to drive around Washington, DC very slowly and gum up the works of government causing frustration and traffic jams. But the plan fizzled out when not enough truckers showed up, and the ones who did were not fully committed to the task. What to do?

The World War II vets were so frustrated with the president shutting down the Memorials that they stormed them. With a little help from some politicians and younger vets, they went in their walkers and wheel chairs and on foot and took down the barriers. They toured the memorials and then took the barriers over to the White House where they left them in front of officers dressed in riot gear. That is a good start. That is more what we need in this country. We need people who will go to the streets and start opposing the unconstitutional and disrespectful acts of the usurpers. But then, why did it take the WWII vets to get on it like they did?

The WWII vets are a special generation. When you have survived enemy fire reigning down on you like the apocalypse and your buddies getting blown apart next to you, it changes you forever. You know that God is bigger than the enemy if you survive that. Here these men and women are nearing the end of their lives and they come back to Washington, DC and stand in the face of what has become the closest thing to an American dictatorship in our history. They feel they have nothing to lose, except the freedom and respect that this government is trying to take away from them. That is the key. Jesus told the young man in Mark 10:21 to sell all he had, give it to the poor, and "take up the cross, and follow me."
This young man asked what he had to do to receive eternal life. Jesus said you have to give up your self, take up the cross (which was very offensive for it was the most demeaning way to die), and follow him. In counting the costs, the young man could not bear to do what the Lord advised. When we see a government so large and powerful. We see it use unconstitutional agencies like the IRS to single out people and try to ruin them. When we see the government spying on our every movement on the highways and hearing what we talk about. When inconsequential critics like myself receive visits from the "FBI." The cost beyond writing letters and making phone calls becomes very high. These people can wreck your life and will take pleasure in doing it.
Until Americans feel they have nothing to lose except the freedom the government is taking away, we probably will not see an end to this tyranny. The cost is too high. Couple that with errant preaching and teaching that we must accept whatever government does, we have a lot of self to get rid of before we are ready to take up the cross. The price of freedom is great. Doing what we are commanded by the Holy Scriptures, making disciples, standing on the righteousness of Christ, overcoming evil with good are all things we can do to change things for the better. Don't be political be practical. Don't be symbolic, be sensible. Don't be emotional, be experiential. And having done all, stand. Trouble is, we are a long ways from having done all. So let's get started.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

FRC Statement on Debt Limit; CR

Family Research Council Calls on House to Oppose 'Deal' on Debt Limit, Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Family Research Council (FRC) today opposed the U.S. House of Representatives' proposed "deal" on the debt limit and Continuing Resolution as conveyed by sources on Capitol Hill. FRC has been at the forefront of opposing the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, because of the law's increased health care costs for families, subsidies for abortion coverage and violation of religious freedoms.

Of the proposed "deal," FRC President Tony Perkins made the following comments:

"As it's being represented, the House 'deal' to raise the debt limit and pass a Continuing Resolution through January fails to treat the American family and businesses with parity, fails to protect religious freedoms threatened by Obamacare, and fails to prevent abortion subsidies or surcharges under Obamacare.

"We have supported defunding or delaying Obamacare, or delaying the individual mandate as a first step to providing fairness to families who, unlike businesses, haven't been exempted from Obamacare. This 'deal' does nothing for fairness for families. Moreover, we have supported efforts to stop abortion subsidies and even the common sense approach to bring transparency to abortion coverage on the state exchanges contained in the bipartisan bill sponsored by U.S. Reps. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), Diane Black (R-Tenn.) and Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.). This 'deal' does nothing to address abortion funding problems. We have also called for religious freedom protections since the HHS mandate will continue to violate the conscience rights of employers such as Conestoga Wood, Inc., and Autocam, Inc., as well as the conscience rights of non-profit organizations such as Little Sisters of the Poor. The 'deal' does nothing to protect American's religious freedoms.

"The House framework reportedly being discussed does nothing to protect American families, the fundamental rights of conscience or religious freedoms. Since this 'deal' accomplishes none of these goals, we urge opposition to it," concluded Perkins.

Take Action for our Troops

Take Action: Troops told that Christian org is hate group

Dear Sara,

They're at it again.

This week news broke that a recent briefing to Army soldiers at Camp Shelby in Mississippi featured and endorsed dangerous and false left-wing anti-Christian propaganda. In this briefing, Fox News writer Todd Starnes reports that U.S. Army troops were explicitly led to believe that the American Family Association (AFA) -- a Christian ministry -- was a "hate group" which soldiers should avoid at all costs.

To make matters worse, in the presentation AFA was falsely associated with Rev. Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church, a group that causes great pain to families of fallen soldiers. Phelps was pictured holding a sign with a vile slogan alongside information on AFA -- a classic propaganda technique. The message was clear: A Christian group that many soldiers go to for inspiration, education, and encouragement was to be avoided by U.S. military personnel.
It would be bad enough if this were the first time, but it's happened before. This latest incident follows a clear and emerging pattern of indoctrination which seems to parrot the talking points of the liberal, anti-Christian Southern Poverty Law Center -- a group whose work has been connected in federal court with domestic terrorism. Earlier this year a similar incident was uncovered in which Catholics and evangelical Christians were demonized as extremists during a military training briefing that used SPLC's talking points. The license given to the trainers of our military to use leftist propaganda to intimidate Christians must stop. Separating our troops from Christian organizations they support and draw encouragement from must end now.
Please join me in signing our petition to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to call for an end to the intimidation of our troops in training them with anti-Christian left-wing propaganda.
Sincerely,

Lt. Gen. (US Army-Ret.) William "Jerry" Boykin
Executive Vice President

The Looting Of America

The Looting Of America

An unbelievable thing happened this weekend that helps to explain why 78% of Americans say we are headed in the wrong direction.

For a brief time this weekend, the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) system broke down. Recipients of the government-issued food stamp "debit cards" discovered that they had no limits. In Louisiana, reflecting the values of the American heartland, Wal-Mart stores said to their customers with these food stamp cards, "We understand the cards show no limit, but we trust you. Come in, make your usual food purchases and we'll sort it out later."

What they got instead was hundreds and hundreds of people grabbing multiple shopping carts and literally sweeping the shelves bare. In the middle of this mayhem, the system was restored. Folks abandoned their carts and walked out of the stores.

The impulse of Wal-Mart reflected the America we have known and loved: Help your neighbor. Go the extra mile. Offer a helping hand.

The reaction of the welfare state citizens reflected everything that is going wrong with the country. They saw the glitch as a chance for another rip off. After all, this is the country offering "free" Obama phones. Significant numbers of people claiming disability benefits are in fact ineligible and are scamming the taxpayers.

Ted Cruz and other fiscal conservatives are trying to get the country to come to grips with the fact we are headed toward national ruin, and it's not the fault of the Tea Party. While the entire political establishment continues to attack people like Cruz for being unreasonable, what happened this weekend at some Louisiana Wal-Mart stores demonstrates the continued breakdown of values caused by America's growing "virtue deficit," perhaps the biggest crisis confronting the country. Soldier Speaks Out:
American Family Association Labeled as "Hate Group" by US Army

"I had to show Americans what our soldiers are now being taught." -US Soldier

According to a FOX News report, the American Family Association has been labeled as a "hate group" in the same category as the KKK, during a US Army training video.

The issue came to light after a soldier, who was in the presentation, decided to speak out.

"I had to show Americans what our soldiers are now being taught," explained the Army soldier. "I couldn't just let this one pass . . . [I was] completely taken back by the blatant attack not only on the AFA but Christians & our beliefs."

FOX News Radio correspondent, Todd Starnes noted that many US Soldiers have indicated that they will be leaving the Armed Forces because of the anti-Christian activity and rhetoric which has increased of late.

> > > This is good news, because these soldiers are now SPEAKING OUT.
Thank You, Lord!
