The Daily Brief

1. Happening now! Truckers roaring into D.C. - World Net Daily

Dozens of big rig drivers and long-haul truckers took to the highways around Washington, D.C., Friday in a protest of the extra-constitutional activities of Congress and the president, as a weekend of planned political statements launched. CBS reported that at one point, truckers were side-by-side-by-side-by-side across four lanes of Interstate 95 and were blocking traffic until police pulled them over. They resumed their drive at 40 mph, up 10 mph before the police stop. The group called "2 Million Bikers to D.C." which held a Sept. 11 rally in Washington, clogged traffic then while expressing members' patriotism and faith in the U.S., but opposition to the socialist agenda now being pursued.

The bikers also are in support - and plan to join - a rally by vets in Washington, the "Million Vet March on the Memorials, which is set for Sunday. That group has voiced its support for the "Truckers to Shut Down America," which also has been called "Ride for the Constitution," in a statement on their Facebook page.

~Abba, we thank You for the patriotism of these truckers and bikers, who are trying to get the attention of the White House and Congress, in order to express the public's disappointment with the handling of our nation's financial situation. We ask that their efforts to uphold the Constitution, and bring an end to the political in-fighting in our government, will not go unrewarded. We ask that these Congressional houses will recognize the need to find a quick resolution to the present dilemma, and will learn to work together with each other for a constructive outcome. We pray this for our president, as well, that all would learn to work together for the good of the people they are supposed to be serving. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

- "Jesus called them together and said, 'You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave---just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.'"(Matthew 20:25-29)

2. Republicans offer to raise US debt ceiling for six weeks - Telegraph

Washington's politicians have taken the first steps towards temporarily ending America's 10-day budget impasse after Republican leaders proposed a plan to raise the US debt ceiling for six weeks to allow time for further negotiations. Senior Republican party members went to the White House to discuss the proposal with Barack Obama seeking to break a political deadlock that threatened to take the US to the brink of default for the first time in its history. The President rejected the offer because it didn't include a provision to reopen the federal government, which has been offering only non-essential services since Oct. 1 because politicians failed to extend spending authority.

~Father, we are grateful that the two sides are beginning to communicate. We ask that a fair and just agreement can be reached soon, that will reopen the government shutdown, and move the country forward. We come against spirits of fear and intimidation.

- "There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes (that look down on others), a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community." (Proverbs 6:16-19)

3. NSA data bank hit by mystery power surges - World Net Daily

The new $1.4 billion National Security Agency supercomputer facility in Utah has been wracked with unexplainable, repeated electrical surges and explosions that have destroyed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of sensitive computers used to store the vast amounts of data it scoops up on foreign nationals and Americans. In the past 13 months, there have been some 10 electrical meltdowns at the new 200-acre facility in Bluffdale, Utah, which has been unable to run all of its computers and servers.

~Lord, we are concerned about the malfunctioning of these NSA computers, which are losing important data, sacrificing security, and costing exorbitant amounts of money to fix, and/or replace. We ask that if there is some sabotage taking place, or terrorism, or a compromising of confidential information, that this would be uncovered and revealed, and the perpetrators be exposed and their illegal efforts neutralized. We ask You to shine Your light in those dark corners and secure those operations that need to be secured. We ask that You give the NSA wisdom they need to secure this data, in Your Name we pray. Amen.

-"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." (John 3:9,10)

4. Obama Pushing Israel to Vacate Jordan Valley - Bible Prophecy Blog

Obama's proposal calls for international forces to maintain security control along with unarmed Palestinian police forces, the PA negotiator said. Israel will retain security posts in some strategic areas of the Jordan Valley, according to the U.S. plan.

~Lord, God of Israel, we come before You on behalf of Your people, Israel, asking that You will continue to protect them and continue to woo them to Your Heart. We ask for wisdom for Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Knesset, that they will be obedient to You and Your Word, and that they will possess their inheritance. We ask that You would show Yourself strong in Your love for them, and remind them of Your promises that You made to them that this is their "everlasting possession". We ask that You would "visit" our President and give Him a healthy respect for You, and the nation of Israel. We ask that he would recognize the folly of Israel giving away her inheritance to her enemies. Stop the mouths of liars we pray, Amen.

- "And I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting, solemn pledge, to be a God to you and your posterity after you. And I will give to you and to your posterity after you the land in which you are a stranger [going from place to place], all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said to Abraham, As for you, you shall therefore keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations." (Genesis 17:7-9)

5. NBC Blasts Obamacare Exchanges: 'The Focus of Ridicule' and 'A Complete Mess'- NBC

NBC's Nightly News reported on the disastrous rollout of Obamacare Thursday night, with correspondent Tom Costello calling the website "the focus of ridicule" and quoting experts who could hardly fathom a "worse launch of a nationwide site."

~Father, we call upon Your mercy, concerning this "Obamacare" legislation. It seems everything about it is disastrous, and it is against the will of the majority of Americans. We ask that Congress will slow down the implementation of this, to view it more closely, and make any and all changes necessary to achieve the objective of affordable healthcare for those who desire it. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

-"My son, if you accept My words and store up My commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understand---indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." (Proverbs 2:1-6)

6. South Dakota ranchers reel after 'catastrophic' storm leaves up to 100,000 cattle dead - Fox News

Ranchers in South Dakota fear as many as 100,000 livestock were killed in last week's record-breaking storm that dumped 4 feet of snow in parts of the state, fueling fears of widespread loss and the possibility that some family business won't be able to recover.

~Abba, we ask that You would comfort these ranchers after this storm has plundered their herds of cattle and land. We ask that You would undertake for them. We realize that during this partial "shutdown" of our government - the Governor of South Dakota cannot seek a declaration of a national disaster. However, Lord, this government is supposed to be of the people, by the people, and for the people. Therefore, we ask that our President would declare this area of South Dakota a "disaster area", and qualified to receive low interest funds to repair and replace that which was damaged. We thank You that You make all things new, and we ask You to do that for these precious people. Amen.

- "Then He Who sat on the throne said, 'Behold I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.' And He said to me, 'It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.'" (Revelation 21:5-7)

Jailed US Man Kenneth Bae's Mother in North Korea Visit - BBC

The mother of a US citizen imprisoned in North Korea is being allowed to visit him, his family says.

Terri Chung, the sister of Kenneth Bae, said their mother was in Pyongyang and due to meet him on Friday morning.

Mr Bae, a Korean-American, was arrested last November and sentenced to 15 years' hard labour in May.

North Korea said that Mr Bae - described as both a tour operator and Christian missionary - had used his tourism business to plot sedition.

In a video statement made prior to her departure, Myunghee Bae said she expected to be in North Korea for five days.

"I don't really know what to expect for my trip. All I know is that I want to see my son," she said.

She said she was grateful to the North Korean authorities for allowing her to visit and expressed shock at the appearance of her son in an interview from prison on 3 July.

"He looked so different and he lost so much weight. I could not believe that prisoner was my son," she said.

Mr Bae's family say his health has deteriorated in recent months and he is suffering from diabetes, an enlarged heart and back pain.

Two months ago, he was transferred from a prison camp to a hospital, they said.

Kenneth Bae (known in North Korea as Pae Jun-ho) was arrested in November 2012 as he entered the north-eastern port city of Rason, a special economic zone near North Korea's border with China.

His trial and conviction came at a time of high tension between the US and North Korea, in the wake of the communist state's third nuclear test on 13 February.

It also came as the US and South Korea conducted annual large-scale military exercises, which angered Pyongyang.

Tensions have since eased somewhat. In August, North Korea issued and then revoked an invitation for US envoy Robert King to travel to Pyongyang to seek Mr Bae's release.

North Korea has arrested several US citizens in recent years, including journalists and Christians accused of proselytising.

They were released after visits to Pyongyang by high-profile officials, including former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

The US accuses North Korea of using detained citizens as bargaining chips.

The blame game and how to win it
Congress and the White House are spending tremendous political capital blaming one another for the government shutdown that really isn't a government shut down. It appears that the Republican Party is taking a huge hit while people are believing the Democratic Party over who is the blame. Then there is the Wall Street Journal poll saying that 60 percent of its respondents want every single member of Congress thrown out in the next election. Be forewarned, however, that polls are driven by the sampling, and these major media outlets that conduct the polls may be weighing the sampling toward their own liberal leanings. So who really is to blame, and what can we do about it?
In all reality, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives has the Constitutional authority and mandate to originate spending bills. It has been passing spending bills on a piece by piece basis to fund the government. It has not passed any bill to fund socialist healthcare. The Senate, which is Democrat-controlled, refuses to consider the piecemeal legislation because the occupant of the Oval Office does not want the government funded unless it is funded with his socialist healthcare program. Meantime, the media, which the vast majority of which admittedly is Democratic, refuses to report the whole truth and is focussed on the childish blame game, which the biggest child is winning--the occupant.
The president, in the process, has turned on the people. He has used his discretionary authority as the Chief Executive Officer of the nation to single out visible government programs and services and defund those that will touch the most people. This, he believes, will cause such backlash that the Republicans will have to fund his socialist healthcare. You see parks closed, except for immigration protests that he supports. You see threats that Social Security checks will not be forthcoming. There were threats to close the highways to truckers coming to protest in Washington, DC. You see private businesses on public land being shut down. This is a Machiavellian demonstration of unconstitutional powers.
In the past, if any president would have tried such strong arm tactics, Americans would be outraged. But they are not getting the true story and they have been so brainwashed by government education of ideological subversion over the past generations that they cannot collectively make a decision to defend themselves. So they tolerate the high media, politically charged blame game. Winning the blame game is simple: do what is right. But to do what is right, people have to know the word of God. That's where Godly people come in. We must hold these scoundrels accountable to the word of God. We have to take action. Romans 13:12 says, "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light."
