The Daily Brief:

"Praying for All in Authority"

Monday, July 28, 2014

"Blessed be the Lord, my rock, Who trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle . . ."
(Psalm 144:1)

The Daily Brief

1. MASSIVE NEW YEAR'S TERRORIST INVASION OF ISRAEL THWARTED BY SECURITY FORCES - Breitbart

[The following is a message from friends of our ministry]

We have been aware of this Massive New Year's Terrorist Invasion of Israel for several days, but waited for it to make major news before writing about it.

The plan was to place 200 plus Hamas terrorists in 30 separate tunnels, 6,000 men, and to attack the many small Kibbutzim, and some cities, on the Jewish New Year located in southern Israel. The object of the surprise attack was to kill and kidnap as many Israeli's as possible. As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed his cabinet about the foiled plot during a Thursday cabinet meeting. "The leader of the Jewish State reportedly expressed to officials that if this attack was not stopped, the number of Israeli fatalities may have been higher than the over 2,200 deaths Israel suffered during 1973 Yom Kippur War."

It is likely that Hezbullah in Lebanon, and perhaps ISIS, Syria, Al Quaeda in the Golan Heights, would also have launched simultaneous attacks in the North through yet undiscovered tunnels, creating a situation where thousands of Israeli men, women, and children were either killed, kidnapped, or wounded. Had this attack taken place, it undoubtedly would have brought on a huge regional war, or the beginning of the Isaiah 17 - Psalm 83 biblical war.

This plot was uncovered because the three young Israeli's who were kidnapped and murdered by Hamas terrorists set in motion all the events that led to the discovery of the plot through the interrogation of captured Hamas terrorists. Here is factual evidence that the God of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. It also reveals why Machmood Abbas suddenly walked away from the peace talks that John Kerry and Israel and joined the PA to Hamas. Abbas undoubtedly knew what was coming in Iraq with ISIS and what Hamas and Hezbullah were planning on Rosh HaShana. A fact that the US has yet to acknowledge. (Read more)

- We praise God for this amazing breakthrough leading to the very survival of the nation of Israel! Surely, our Lord has done a great thing in leading these brave IDF soldiers to discover this cache of information. Lift up P.M. Netanyahu and all in authority today, that they might know the next steps to take in closing these tunnels and preventing the construction of new ones by Hamas. Pray, too, that the U.N. and the nations of the world will SIT UP AND TAKE NOTICE of this plan by Hamas that would have, literally, "wiped Israel off the map," which has been their agenda all along. PRAY!

- "Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep." (Psalm 121:4)

2. The intelligence picture: Hamas searching for a 'victory picture' - Jerusalem Post

According to Israeli intelligence evaluations, Hamas was surprised by the timing and scope of Israel's ground offensive. Hamas also remains frustrated by the fact that after two years of preparations, and enormous resources poured into the armament and tunnels programs, it hardly has any visible achievements to show for its efforts.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, this article expresses what needs to be clearly heard, that massive amounts of money, resources, time and human life have been spent by Hamas in their plan to achieve their 'victories' of destruction using these tunnels to damage, kill and destroy the Israeli people. Father, we ask You to shut down their hoped for 'victories'. We ask in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

- "God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day." (Psalm 7:11)

3. Hamas And North Korea Are Working On A Secret Arms Deal- Business Insider

Security officials say the deal between Hamas and North Korea is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and is being handled by a Lebanese-based trading company with close ties to the militant Palestinian organisation based in east Beirut.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, this report is frightening as to how another enemy of Israel - North Korea - is now becoming involved with providing even more deadly weapons to be used against Your special land and people. Father, have mercy and shut down these negotiations, throwing them into confusion and chaos. We pray in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

-"Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled; let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly." (Psalm 6:10)

4. 'Christianity as we know it in Iraq is being wiped out'- WND

A member of Congress is calling out Western civilization, President Obama and Congress for their "deafening silence" on the purge by radical Muslims of anything Christian in Iraq, especially Mosul, where Christians had lived for some 2,000 years.

The warning from Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., was blunt. "Christianity as we know it in Iraq is being wiped out."

On the House floor, he addressed the fact that Muslims, members of a terror group that has been called Islamic State of Syria and al-Sham, or ISIS, and also Islamic State, have been sweeping across parts of Iraq, killing and destroying.

"I want to read parts of an email I received yesterday from someone in the ground in Iraq: 'All Mosul churches and monasteries are seized by ISIS. There are around 30. The cross has been removed from all of them. Many of them are burned, destroyed and looted. Many others are being used as ISIS centers. The religious Sunni, Shiite and Christian tombs are destroyed in Mosul. This destruction is endangering very ancient sites, such as prophet Jonah's tomb, which was broken last week, according to many reporters,'" Wolf said.

- Heavenly Father, we offer praise for Rep. Frank Wolf's declaration of what is happening to Christians in Iraq and to some of the most ancient Judaic sites, such as Jonah's tomb, in the Mosul area. We also praise how he shares the tragedy of the 'deafening silence' from the west. We ask You, Father, to strengthen and protect this man for what he is saying, and ask that his words be heard, praying in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

-"Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may oppress no more." (Psalm 10:17-18)

5. US Military Dusts Off Decades-Old 'Readiness' Plans for Russia- Yahoo

As American officials fire off diplomatic salvos at Russia in response to that nation's purported actual artillery salvos into Ukraine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said recently that among other actions, the U.S. military is dusting off decades-old plans, just in case.

In addition to its own plans, Dempsey said the U.S. military is having "conversations with our NATO allies about increasing their capability and readiness" and that there's a "very active" ongoing process and debate about how best to provide support to Ukraine.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, this article appears to report actions are being taken for war in the Ukraine. We ask that You cause all hidden motives to be exposed, and that You shatter all plots that are not of Your timing or will. We pray this in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

-"He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him."
(Proverbs 18:13)

6. Ebola virus kills senior doctor in Liberia- Fox News

MONROVIA, Liberia - A health official says a senior doctor working at Liberia's largest hospital has died of Ebola. Tolbert Nyenswah, an assistant health minister, said Dr. Samuel Brisbane died Saturday at an Ebola treatment center on the outskirts of the capital, Monrovia. He is the first Liberian doctor to die in an outbreak the World Health Organization says has killed 129 people in the country.

The WHO says the outbreak, the largest ever recorded, has also killed 319 people in Guinea and 224 in Sierra Leone. Health workers are at serious risk of contracting the disease, which spreads through contact with bodily fluids.

Sierra Leone's top Ebola doctor fell ill with the disease last week, and the aid group Samaritan's Purse said Saturday that an American doctor in Liberia was also sick.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, we ask that You come against this deadly, spreading health crisis of Ebola. May Your healing balm fall on those who suffer from this deadly disease, especially protecting and restoring the doctors who are trying to handle this crisis. WE OFFER SPECIAL PRAYERS TODAY FOR MISSIONARIES IN THIS FIELD WHO ARE ALSO NOW SUCCUMBING TO THIS FATAL DISEASE. We ask that You have Your heavenly angels surround and lift up all involved, in Jesus' Name we pray, Amen and Amen.

- "But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, to repay it by Your hand. The helpless commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless." (Psalm 10:14)

7. New bill ties Obama's hands on illegals at border- WND

Sen. David Vitter, R-La., is spearheading a legislative approach to the border crisis, one that he says will result in far more deportations in less time and slam the door shut on the Obama administration's ability to use its own discretion in enforcing existing laws.

The plan calls for expediting the deportation process, greatly reducing the grounds for asylum in the U.S. and requiring those in violation of immigration laws to be detained until they are sent home. The senator also said his bill, S. 2632, is far more aggressive than the bipartisan plan sponsored by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, which also promises to speed up the processing of those in the country illegally.

"(There are) two main differences," Vitter said. "First of all, we raise the standard for anything like an asylum claim. They do not. Secondly, we absolutely ensure that these illegals are detained and not given over to anyone, like family members, until they're deported out of the country, assuming that's appropriate. They do not." Vitter said his legislation also gives the president far less wiggle room in using the law to advance his political agenda. He said he doesn't trust the administration to enforce the law, so he believes tying its hands through this new legislation would also be an improvement.

"Quite frankly, I don't trust the administration with regard to enforcement in general, and that's why my bill doesn't give them room to maneuver. It doesn't leave much, if anything, to their discretion. That's another big difference between our legislation and some other alternatives out there in Congress, even among Republicans," he said.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, if this bill by Sen. David Vitter is of Your will and plans as to the US border issue, may the necessary number of senators support it, so that it is passed quickly, and will facilitate a tougher response to the US border crisis. We ask, Father, that You abide in the midst of this crisis, that the diseases are controlled, and all the needs somehow be provided. We ask that You clearly confront Your people, and bring some resolutions to this crisis situation. We pray in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

- There are many plans in a man's heart, nevertheless the Lord's counsel - that will stand." (Proverbs 19:21)

8. Obama discusses influx of refugee children with Central American leaders- UPI

President Obama said he told the presidents of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador that action must be taken to slow the "influx" of refugee children.

During a White House meeting, Obama said he told his counterparts, Juan Orlando Hernández of Honduras, Otto Pérez Molina of Guatemala and Salvador Sánchez Cerén of El Salvador, they should let their citizens know that even if they get to the United States most people who cross the border illegally will not be able to stay. He also called for more efforts to combat traffickers bringing immigrants into the United States.

"I emphasized that the American people and my administration have great compassion for these children," Obama said after the meeting. "But I also emphasized to my friends that we have to deter a continuing influx of children putting themselves at risk."

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, we ask that these leaders from Central American nations rise up and respond, so that these children are less at risk. Expose Lord, what is negotiated in darkness, so that Your value of Life arises for these children, and not the darkness and betrayal from the enemy. We ask in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

- "It is not good to show partiality to the wicked, or to overthrow the righteous in judgment." (Proverbs 18:5)

9. An Obamacare Architect Said Something In 2012 That Could Unravel The Law - Business Insider

One of the key architects of the Affordable Care Act made little-noticed comments in 2012 that could provide the law's conservative challengers a major boost in the most high-profile ongoing challenge to undo it.

Earlier this week, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, considered the second-most powerful court in the U.S., threw out an IRS regulation that helps the federal government hand out key subsidies under the Affordable Care Act. The court sided with plaintiffs, who argued the law specifically only allows states that run their own exchanges to provide subsidies to help lower-income people buy health insurance.

Supporters of the law have called the challenge unserious. But conservatives who support the plaintiffs in the case - Halbig v. Burwell - say one of the men that makes their case is Jonathan Gruber, the MIT economist who was one of the authors of the Massachusetts health law that served as the model for Obamacare.

At issue in the Halbig case and others making their way through the federal court system is whether Congress authorized the federal government to give out subsidies. It's a big deal, since 36 states' healthcare exchanges run at least partly through the federal government. The theory presented by the challengers posits the federal government wanted to pressure states into setting up their own exchanges by refusing them subsidies if they did not.

In the 2012 clip, Gruber seems to be suggesting Congress intended subsidies to run only through state exchanges.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, another aspect of this vile law is arising out of this case. Much of the public is being entrapped by semi hidden political 'games' and here is another example. Many of those seeking to sign up under this law were given to understand that they would have subsidies to assist them, but it appears that it needs to be state run exchanges only. As reported in this article, 36 of the US 50 states are involved or tied to the federal level in their exchanges, which disqualifies the subsidies. We ask You, Father, to crush and demolish this dark law, in Jesus' Name we pray, Amen and Amen.

-"'For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise,' says the Lord; 'I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.'" (Psalm 12:5)

10. Northern California wildfire forces evacuation of hundreds of homes- Fox News

Fire officials in northern California said late Saturday that a rapidly spreading blaze has torched over 3,000 acres and forced the evacuation of over 500 homes. Evacuation orders were expanded to include approximately 265 homes in Amador County. Previous orders had covered about 250 homes about 40 miles east of Sacramento.

Read more:

- We ask mercy, Father, for these families and homes involved, and that they may feel You abiding in the midst of all of this. We ask in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

-"May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion." (Psalm 20:1-2)

OPERATION PROTECTIVE EDGE

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of YHWH our God." (Psalm 20:7)

1. Obama calls Netanyahu, urges an immediate unconditional ceasefire - Times of Israel

US President Barack Obama called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu late Sunday to urge an immediate ceasefire, after Secretary of State John Kerry flew home amid Israeli and PA criticism of his handling of the crisis. He also condemned Hamas attacks and reaffirmed "Israel's right to defend itself."

The president told the prime minister that any lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict "must ensure the disarmament of terrorist groups and the demilitarization of Gaza."

The critical element of the conversation: He called for an "immediate, unconditional humanitarian ceasefire that ends hostilities now and leads to a permanent cessation of hostilities based on the November 2012 ceasefire agreement."

2. Gaza war rages despite Hamas, Israel truce pledges - APNews MyWay

Israel and Hamas launched new attacks Sunday in the raging Gaza war, despite going back and forth over proposals for a temporary halt to nearly three weeks of fighting ahead of a major Muslim holiday.

The failure to reach even a brief humanitarian lull in the fighting illustrated the difficulties in securing a more permanent truce as the sides remain far apart on their terms.

After initially rejecting an Israeli offer Saturday for a 24-hour truce, Hamas said Sunday that it had agreed to hold fire ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday marking the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. But as Israel's Cabinet met to discuss the offer and the ongoing war, rockets rained down on southern Israel and Israeli strikes could be heard in Gaza.

3. Israel rejects 24-hour timeout proposal as rocket fire continues - Times of Israel

US Secretary of State John Kerry headed back home after Israel rejected his ceasefire proposal, and privately castigated his handling of the crisis. A humanitarian truce was unilaterally ended by Hamas on Saturday night, when it resumed rocket fire, though Israel had agreed to hold its fire for another 24 hours.

4. Hamas fires rockets after rejecting truce extension - Times of Israel

Israel said fuming at Kerry for 'capitulating to Hamas' in ceasefire efforts

Israel's government on Friday unanimously rejected a ceasefire offer advanced by US Secretary of State John Kerry, with sources saying it was too tilted towards Hamas. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted a 12-hour truce from 8 a.m. Saturday, and ministers later extended it to midnight.

5. Israeli ministers . . . reported Kerry as "negligent, incapable of handling the most basic matters" - Times of Israel

Israeli government sources on Saturday night accused US Secretary of State John Kerry of "completely capitulating" to the demands of Hamas and its champion Qatar in drafting the Gaza war ceasefire proposal that Israeli ministers unanimously rejected on Friday.

The unnamed sources, quoted by Israel's Channel 2 TV, said Kerry "dug a tunnel under the Egyptian ceasefire proposal" - which Israel accepted and Hamas rejected last week - and presented the Israeli government with a text that accepted "most of the demands" raised by Hamas, the Islamist terror group that rules the Strip.

To the "horror" of the Israeli ministers, the Kerry proposal accepted Hamas's demands for the opening of border crossings into Gaza - where Israel and Egypt fear the import of weaponry; the construction of a seaport; and the creation of a post-conflict funding channel for Hamas from Qatar and other countries, according to the sources. The proposal, meanwhile, did not even provide for Israel to continue demolishing the Hamas network of "terror tunnels" dug under the Israeli border.

Rather than provoke an open diplomatic confrontation with the United States, the report said, the appalled ministers chose not to issue an official statement rejecting the Kerry terms. Instead, word of the decision was allowed to leak out. (Read more)

6. 'Kerry told Hamas many of its demands would be met under ceasefire deal' - Times of Israel

US Secretary of State John Kerry informed Hamas via Qatar last week that under his proposal for a ceasefire with Israel, based on the original Egyptian initiative, the US would guarantee the fulfillment of many of Hamas's demands for an end to the war, Palestinian sources told The Times of Israel on Saturday.

The guarantees promised to Hamas by Kerry under a ceasefire, as relayed to The Times of Israel by the Palestinian sources, pertain to the following issues: an easing of restrictions on the passage of goods from Israel to Gaza; an easing of restrictions on the passage of traders and businessmen from Gaza to Israel; expansion of the permitted Gaza fishing zone to 12 miles off the coast; the opening of the Rafah crossing with Egypt, to be manned by Palestinian Authority officials; and a promise to ensure the transfer of salaries to Gaza's government employees.

Kerry made no promises on the issue of the Hamas demand for the release of prisoners, other than a pledge to discuss the matter. There was also no mention of the establishment of a seaport in Gaza, as demanded by Hamas.

8. THE INVESTIGATION OF THE SHELLING OF THE UN SCHOOL . . . HAS BEEN COMPLETED - CHPP

The UNRWA school in Beit Hanoun was reported to have been shelled by the IDF on Thursday, resulting in numerous casualties. The recordings and evidence on the ground show that Hamas fighters were firing at the IDF from within the school complex at the time. When the terrorists fired some anti-tank missiles at the soldiers, the IDF fired back with several rounds of mortar fire. The mortar that landed closest to the school building landed in an unoccupied yard near the school. Therefore the 15 deaths within the school, credited to the IDF, are unlikely to have occurred at all, since the IDF did not hit the school. The fatalities could be another Hamas fabrication, or Hamas creation, to incite world outrage against Israel.

--Praise the Lord for the IDF's meticulous records and recordings that give proof to counter the outrageous Hamas lies.

--Pray that shame will be brought down on the UN leaders, who charged Israel without cause or bodies to count. Pray for that shame to fall on the journalists and media outlets, that publish the unsubstantiated lies of the Palestinians as if it is truth.

--Praise the Lord for the IDF's care in protecting civilian life . . . even when they are continually, falsely, charged with arbitrary slaughter of the Palestinian people.

9. Two soldiers succumb to wounds, raising death toll to 42 - Times of Israel

Three soldiers were killed in Gaza fighting Saturday, and two died of their wounds, pushing the IDF death toll in nearly three weeks of conflict with Hamas to 42. Over 100 soldiers have been injured since Operation Protective Edge began on July 8, several of them seriously, according to IDF and media numbers. (Read more and view their photos here)

> > > Offer a prayer today for the families who are grieving the loss of these sons, who have died as heroes, indeed.

[This prayer was submitted by our friend, "K," on Friday]

- Day 18 of Operation Protective Edge (Immovable, Enduring Mountain Face) should be the day of CHAI . . . LIFE . . . which is the meaning of number 18. Sadly, we lost 2 more soldiers to death today (Staff Sergeant, Guy Levy, age 21 and Master Sergeant Yair Ashkenazy, 36,). Medical teams are attending to a second wounded soldier, and fighting for his life. The Chief Army Rabbi has officially declared Oron Shaul (the soldier, whose body was not accounted for, after a vehicle attack by a missile) a casualty without a known grave. The investigation of the attack gives clear evidence that Oron was onboard, and that everyone would have been killed instantly. Hamas has been saying that they kidnapped Oron, but they must only have his dog tags. The death toll of our soldiers now stands at 35.

PRAY FOR COMFORT, AND FOR A VISITATION BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, TO BE UPON ALL THESE FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND LOVED ONES.

- "For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death." (Psalm 48:14)

12. THOUSANDS OF JEWS ARE FLEEING FRANCE & GERMANY - Daily Mail UK

An Israeli envoy says it's become like the dark days of 1938

Events have taken a turn for the worse after violent clashes between pro-Palestinian Arabs and Jews in Paris. Tensions have been inflamed by the military action in the Middle East, where the Israeli shelling of Gaza - in response to the abduction and murder of three Israeli teenagers - is being answered with rockets fired by the Arab group Hamas.

An anti-Israel demonstration at the French capital's Bastille Square turned violent after protesters attacked a synagogue, trapping scores of people inside as police fought to protect them.

In response, 150 Jewish men were seen marching through Paris armed with iron bars seeking to confront pro-Palestinian groups. Then, a mob of Muslim youths reportedly shouting 'Death to Jews' and 'Slit Jews' throats' ransacked and burned down a chemist owned by a Jewish family, as well as a kosher supermarket. In Germany, meanwhile, Israeli ambassador Yakov Hadas-Handelsman has protested after one of his countrymen was abused by anti-Semitic thugs. He said: 'They pursue the Jews in the streets of Berlin as if we were in 1938.' (Read more)

- Lift up these precious Jewish families as they flee their own nation for safe refuge . . . we trust in Israel. May this horror turn to the good, causing the next great wave of aliyea immigrants to arrive on Israel's shores. Amen.

- "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

Something Must Be Done!

Something Must Be Done!

The Family Research Council will host Rev. Richard Owen Roberts in LIVE WEBCAST lecture at noon tomorrow (Tuesday, July 29th) for one hour.

TO REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT, GO HERE.

The Family Research Council will host Rev. Richard Owen Roberts as our special guest speaker in our Lunchtime Lecture Series at FRC Headquarters. He will address the ever growing cry, "Something must be done!" Following his message, Rev. Roberts will be available for questions and discussion. Attendees will enjoy a complimentary buffet lunch. Rev. Roberts believes that despite the spiritual confusion and even judgments of God we see around us, it is not too late for America. But our problems are, at their root, spiritual, and to be resolved they must be addressed at the root.

Rev. Richard Owen Roberts, a former pastor, modestly describes himself as an "Itinerant Minister, Bookseller and Publisher." But to hungry Christians across America Rev. Roberts is a champion for true Revival and Awakening in our day.

Rev. Roberts is founder of International Awakening Ministries, now the R.O. Roberts Trust. He studied at Gordon, Whitworth and Fuller Theological Seminary, and pastored in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and California. Since 1975, he, his wife, Margaret and their family have lived in the Chicago area, near Wheaton College. His private collection of 9,000 plus books on revivals and awakenings, serves as the nucleus of Wheaton's Billy Graham Center Library. Roberts has written much on these topics.

In the early 90's, Rev. Roberts writings on Biblical Solemn Assembly stirred believers who were concerned for the condition of their churches and the moral and spiritual direction of our nation. This biblical practice is a means whereby families, churches and nations can return to God; put away the sins of the past; and embark upon a new start. The great state-wide days of prayer practiced in the colonies and in the states during the first century of the Republic; the days of "humiliation, fasting and prayer" called by the several Continental Congresses, the nationwide call to prayer by President Abraham Lincoln amid the Civil War, were taken from the Biblical concept of Solemn Assembly. The National Day of Prayer, too, is derived from the practice.

Several large Protestant denominations, most notably the Southern Baptists, the Assemblies of God and the Church of God (TN) having learned from Roberts' work and held historic solemn assemblies during the decade of the nineties. Many other churches and groups across the nation have similarly sought to learn from this biblical pattern.

I will fill you with men as with locusts

Reuters reports that 2,000-3,000 pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets Friday night to protest Israel's offensive against Hamas. Quoting several "Palestinian Americans", Reuters reported that these people just wanted to break the siege and end the killing in Palestine. One said, "We just want them to live like human beings." An 8-year old boy was quoted as saying, "Israel, I'm just a kid. Please don't kill me." The Reuters article concluded: "It was unclear who organized the protest, which drew demonstrators to the city from miles away." The pro-Palestinian bias of the article said the death toll of the offensive was 844 Palestinians to 37 Israeli soldiers and three civilians.

This is typical media and political strategy for the "Palestinians"--code for Hamas terrorists. They pick a fight with Israel by raining down thousands of missiles on civilian targets and when Israel defends itself, they cry foul. Now the mainstream media is joining in with one sided stories about protests in the United States. This is also what happens when Muslim populations become stronger in large cities. They become bolder and start breaking and ignoring the laws. I wonder if the New York protest had a permit--Reuters reported that no one knew who organized the protest. No one knows in Paris or London either, but they know the results of the violence and fires that are set. Not here in the US yet, but its coming.

The truth here is that Hamas, who has officially teamed up with the White House peace partner--the Palestinian Authority--refuses to recognize Israel as a legitimate state. Its purpose is to destroy Israel. Islamists worldwide agree with this and they are willing to violently support Hamas whenever it attacks Israel and protest Israel whenever it defends itself. The head of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, said Palestinians will not co-exist with "occupiers", meaning Jews. The mainstream news media is all too willing to report the "plight" of the poor palestinians. Trouble is, it is a farce. These "Palestinians" are terrorists. They voted Hamas in to lead them. They teach their children to hate Jews and that Jews are subhuman pigs.
That there are protests of such magnitude in New York means there will be more. They will be larger. And they will become violent. This is what happens when Islam is allowed to take root in a country--Europe knows it well. Today's America and many countries in Europe resemble Babylon of Jeremiah's time. The LORD said in Jeremiah 51:14, "Surely I will fill you with men, as with locusts; and they shall lift up a shout against you." When a nation established by the LORD turns its back on the LORD, bad things happen. Embracing the world's godlessness and pressuring Israel to give in to the enemies of God has its consequences. Islamists marching in the streets of New York are yet another indicator.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Prophetic consequences of a regional disaster

The Merced Sun Star is carrying a lengthy story by McClatchy Washington Bureau's Jonathan Landay that attempts to analyze how the Islamic State (ISIS) seemed to appear out of no where and take over parts of Syria and Iraq. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Brett McGurk testified before a House committee February 5 (four months before ISIS was in the US public eye) that ISIS's operations "are calculated, coordinated and part of a strategic campaign . . . to collapse the Iraqi state and carve out a zone of governing control in western regions of Iraq and Syria." The White House obviously knew about ISIS and its goals long before it became a regional warring force.

Details emerged in June that the leader of the al Qaeda offshoot--Abu Duaa (now called Abu Bakr al Baghdadi among other aliases) was released in 2009 when the US "president" shut down the Bucca prison camp in Iraq. Abu sees both Syria and Iraq as an Islamic state, the beginning of a single al Qaeda caliphate, having recruited over 7,000 fighters and controlling large swaths of territory in Northeastern Syria and Northwestern Iraq. It was revealed further by Aaron Klein of WorldNetDaily and confirmed by Reuters and others that the White House authorized the training of dozens of ISIS members as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Stating the obvious, California Republican Congressman Ed Royce is quoted as saying, "What started as a crisis in Syria has become a regional disaster with serious global implications." Congressman Royce and the others on Capitol Hill and in the Supreme Court might ought to suspend their disbelief that they are dealing with an incompetent "president" and wake up to reality. This US "president" embarked on a strategy to destabilize the Middle East from the onset of his administration, starting with his "New Beginnings" speech in June 2009. Arab Spring, Libya, Egypt, Syria and a host of other countries in the Middle East are now directly influenced by al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. Its not a crisis, it is a strategy.
The nation to watch is Turkey. Publicly, Turkey opposes ISIS. The Middle East Forum's Daniel Pipes, however, reports otherwise in a June 18 Washington Times article that said Turkey has paid $800 million to ISIS for oil shipments and has allowed ISIS access to its border with Syria. Pipes writes: "Actually, the Turks offered far more than an easy border crossing: they provided the bulk of ISIS' funds, logistics, training and arms. Turkish residents near the Syrian border tell of Turkish ambulances going to Kurdish-ISIS battle zones and then evacuating ISIS casualties to Turkish hospitals." There are deceivers and deceptions ongoing in this saga. It's time to know your eschatology that you are not deceived.

U.S. Deploying Military "Advisers" to Ukraine

U.S. Deploying Military "Advisers" to Ukraine

July 26, 2014

Late Tuesday . . . the Pentagon began deploying military advisers to Ukraine. According to Pentagon spokesman U.S. Army Col. Steve Warren, the objective of the advisers will be to "shape and establish an enduring program for future US efforts to support the Ukrainian military through subject-matter expert teams and long-term advisers."

For clarity, readers are reminded that when the Pentagon uses the phrase "military advisers," this invariably means special operations forces and in this particular case, it will likely be predominantly U.S. Army Special Forces. In addition to being highly skilled in direct action missions, Green Berets excel at working with the local population, training indigenous troops, assessing capabilities and needs and serving as the eyes and ears of the National Command Authority and other U.S. policy makers.

Further, as previously noted just weeks ago, the Pentagon will not telegraph the deployment of special operations forces. If they are talking about sending them, many are already there and likely have been for some time.

Russia's Actions a Dangerous Escalation

On Thursday of this week, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey responded to news that the Russian military was now firing artillery from Russian territory into eastern Ukraine as well as continuing to supply increasingly deadly weapons systems and support to separatists, saying that the latest development represents a dangerous escalation and that the Russia-Ukraine crisis is now a global problem.

"They clearly are on a path to assert themselves differently not just in Eastern Europe, but Europe in the main, and towards the United States."

Congress Working to Provide Major Non-NATO Ally Status

Several nations on Russia's periphery have become eager to align with the EU and U.S. as a way to protect themselves against potential Russian threats. As such, multiple bills are working their way through Congress which would codify a legal avenue through which the U.S. would grant Ukraine and several other former Soviet states with major non-NATO ally status. The bills would authorize President Obama to increase U.S. military interactions and security assistance with the armed forces of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU?

In a nutshell, these developments mean dramatically increased tensions and prospects of war with the Russian Federation and should be taken seriously.

On multiple occasions over the past two years, and in particular, the past several months, Russia has repeatedly warned NATO and the U.S. against growth on their border as such moves pose a direct strategic threat, warned individual states against a closer alliance and warned that nuclear weapons could be used if Ukraine attempts to retake Crimea. Russia's top military officer, the Chief of the Russian General Staff Gen. Nikolai Makarov, has previously warned that Moscow would preemptively strike NATO missile-defense sites and bases in Eastern Europe if the U.S. pushes ahead with deployment. Additionally, Gen. Makarov has also warned of the use of nuclear weapons if the Russian Federation is threatened.

"We are certainly not planning to fight against the whole of NATO, but if there is a threat to the integrity of the Russian Federation, we have the right to use nuclear weapons, and we will."
Without question, there are dramatically differing national interests in play and the resulting increases in tensions, force buildups and posture makes for a volatile situation. Along with the growing tensions with China in the Western Pacific, the rise of the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq and the increasing terrorism threat emanating from that region, not to mention the myriad of other threats facing the country, our strongest recommendations for readers to minimize frivolity, get caught up with your basic preparedness tasks and, above all, stay well informed.

U.N. Treaty Passes Senate Committee

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) Passes Senate Foreign Relations Committee by a vote of 12-6

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) has a dubious name. While it may sound like it would help Americans and people around the world with disabilities, the treaty could dangerously undermine United States laws protecting persons with disabilities, specifically the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This past week, the UNCRPD -- which conservatives have battled against for years -- passed out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee by a vote of 12-6. A champion of this treaty is former U.S. Senator Bob Dole, who is urging the Senate to ratify and vote on this treaty this year. A major problem of the treaty is that it fails to provide a definition for the word "disability", which could greatly expand the reach and power of unelected international committee members under the UNCRPD. The treaty only says that disability is "an evolving concept."
Moreover, U.S. law, including the ADA, protects the rights of parents to raise and educate their children regardless of whether their children have disabilities. Parental rights are so important, and decisions about children with disabilities should be left to parents, not unelected U.N. bureaucrats.
The UNCRPD isn't the only matter of concern with the Senate before it breaks for August recess. The Senate is set to vote on Monday on another controversial Obama-appointed judicial nominee, Pamela Harris, to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. We need to continue to remain strong in our opposition as we hear that the Senate may vote to ratify this treaty sometime this year. (Family Research Council) Read more here.

Letter from Imprisoned Iranian Christian Pastor Talks about God's Faithfulness at All Times

Imprisoned Christian Pastor Farshid Fathi has sent a letter from Iran's notorious Evin Prison, reflecting on God's faithfulness even in difficult times.

Elam said that Fathi has been in Evin Prison for almost 43 months, just because of his Christian faith and ministry. He is scheduled for release in Dec. 2016. According to a news release from Elam Ministries, he wrote "In each of our lives, there are nights: nights of loneliness, nights of nightmare, nights of fever and pain, endless nights of prison, nights of missing, nights of hard-breathing and some scary, unexplainable nights in our lives."

Fathi said these experiences are inevitable, even for those who have a close walk with Jesus Christ.

According to Elam, Fathi continued "When a child has a bad night, his father or his mother lies beside him during the night, tenderly stroking his forehead, kissing his cheeks over and over, calling his name in the most lovely voice and they keep looking at the child's face until that bad night passes over. Then the child opens his eyes and thinks his father has just come to him. He was not able to sense his father's breath while he was battling with his nightmares."

That's the same for us, Fathi continued, when our troubling times end. We think that God has just comes to us.

But that's not so, Fathi said. "He was not only there in the morning, but He was with us all through the dark nights of our life . So I am absolutely sure that finally 'the sun of justice will rise with healing in its wings (Malachi 4:2).'"

Elam wrote, "Thank you for your faithful prayers for Farshid, who is in the midst of a dark night, and yet waits for the dawn to break. It is a great encouragement for him to know that his family around the world are still holding him up in prayer." (ASSIST News Service)

Signs and Wonders:

A Chinese River Just Turned 'As Crimson As Blood'

On Thursday morning, a river in eastern China suddenly turned a bloody shade of red, according to unverified reports by ABC News, China News, Shanghaist, and others.

"Local residents say the river was running normally at 4am, but it started to redden at around 6am, and in no time turned as crimson as blood," China Radio International reported.

While nobody is quite sure what caused the alarming change, the ABC report said "a paper manufacturer, a food-coloring company and a clothing-maker" were located along the river. When China's Jian River turned red in 2011, it was traced to a company that was illegally dumping red dye into the waterway. The Yangtze River had a similar incident, back in 2012, which was thought to have been caused by silt in the river. (Business Insider) Read more and see photos here.

"And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."
