A Note of Thanks
Dear Friends,
We want to thank the thousands of you who joined us over this past weekend in fasting, prayer and repentance for the good of our nation. We are relieved to see that the crisis over a possible attack on Syria has "settled down," although we remain watchful over this situation as the president consults with Congress on this matter.
It is indeed true that "The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16)
May we all continue to join hands and hearts for the protection of the nation of Israel and for the blessing of our nation in the days ahead. Amen.

A New Publishing Schedule
Again this week, we are blessed to continue to pray with you, every day of the business week, with the Daily Brief. May our Lord be magnified by our intercession, and may His will be done on earth, as it is in heaven through these prayers. Amen.
However, please note that we will no longer release any publications over the weekend (including the Israel Report), allowing us more time to spend with the Lord, and with our own families and friends.
We know that all of you want to continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, so in addition to the many news items you will see on our Daily Briefs, with prayer, please note that there are several fine ministries, all based in Israel, that offer prayer alerts with news out of Israel each week. We recommend the following to you:
1. Intercessors for Israel (go here)
2. Bridges for Peace: Israel Prayer Update (go here)

Introducing our New Bible Study

Introducing our New Bible Study
A message from the Scribe for the One Year Bible Study and Torah Readings: Susan Turner
For Those New to Our One Year Bible and Readings . . . Welcome!
For our faithful intercessors and readers, we have developed a "One Year Bible and Torah Readings Letter," with an attached amplified weekly Sunday-Saturday "One Year Bible" Word document that includes One Year Bible Scripture references, as well as their chapter headings.
Our history is that to learn more about our Judeo-Christian roots, over three years ago, we added into the existing "One Year Bible" weekly letter, the traditional Shabbat Torah/Old Testament and Haftarah/Prophets Readings read by observant Jews worldwide. We have also included the Brit Chadashah or New Testament Readings read by Messianic Jews.
This easy-to-use format gives us a "heads-up" for daily Scripture readings, and tells us what the weekly Shabbat Torah readings are for Friday and Saturday. We can read and pray through the Bible and Torah readings, and compare their teachings to world, national, state and local headlines; as well as to situations in our daily personal and business lives!
Again, included with this letter on a separate link is this week's "Word" document of One Year Bible Readings amplified with chapter headings. As the Lord leads, I have highlighted key verses in purple . . . His color of royalty.
> > > To read the "One Year Bible" weekly letter, go here.
> > > To read the Shabbat Torah readings, go here.
We will provide these links for you weekly, with the blessings of Yeshua as well. Amen.
[ Susan L. Turner is a member of the Board of Directors for Capitol Hill Prayer Partners. We are delighted that she has given us permission to publish her excellent Bible Study on the first day of each week that the Daily Brief is sent out. Thank you, Susan Turner!]
End-of-Summer Appeal

End-of-Summer Appeal
I personally want to thank Cindy Jacobs, President of the United States Reformation Prayer Network (USRPN) for her transparency this past week in letting us know of their need to bring in the finances needed to end this summer in the black. Her dollar figure came to approximately $95,000 and we ask all of our friends here at CHPP to prayerfully consider her appeal. You can help support the USRPN by going here.
Having said that, I will follow Cindy's example and let you very simply know that our ministry is now facing a shortfall of $4,674.96 in order to clear our books and continue to go forward this fall. We do thank you for prayerfully considering our own "Gideon" need, too!
Whether you are able to release a one-time offering, or join those who support this work monthly . . . we do thank you for whatever you can do to help us out.
Offerings may be sent to: Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, P.O. Box 5152, Herndon, VA 20172-1970. Please make checks payable to: CHPP. THANK YOU!

A NIGHTWATCH at David's Tent!!
Jason Hershey, Director of David's Tent DC, has released an urgent appeal for worshippers to join them throughout the night at their site on the Ellipse of the White House grounds here in Washington, D.C.
WE CANNOT EMPHASIZE STRONGLY ENOUGH HOW CRITICAL IT IS FOR PRAISE, WORSHIP AND PRAYERS TO BE RELEASED BEFORE THE THRONE OF THE KING DURING A NIGHTWATCH!
Hence, we want to strongly encourage all 4,405 of you to grab an airline ticket and come out to your nation's capital to join Jason and his team at David's Tent as they once again raise up nonstop, 24/7 worship near the steps of the White House!
David's Tent will enter into worship beginning on Tuesday, September 24th, and will continue for the next 40 days and 40 nights, through Tuesday, November 5, in obedience to the call of God in their lives.
To learn more about the mission of David's Tent, go here.
"It is not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord." Amen!
High Holy Days Begin in Israel

High Holy Days Begin in Israel
In closing, please note that the High Holy Days will begin in Israel this Wednesday evening (Sept. 4th here; Sept. 5th there) when Jews around the world will celebrate Rosh Hashanah - The Jewish New Year (5774).
Rosh HaShanah or the Jewish New Year also ushers in the "Ten Days of Awe," a time of repentance ending on Yom Kippur. This year, the Ten Days of Awe will extend then from September 5 - 14.
On Rosh Hashanah, we invite all of our prayer partners to seek the will of God for our own new year, and to come home to Him and to His Word, in repentance. The High Holy Days are a time of reflection, repentance and renewal for the New Year, so may the Spirit of the Most High God (Elohim) draw each of us more closely unto him in these days.
And finally, unfortunately, the High Holy Days traditionally represent a time when the enemies of Israel attack, giving her "no rest." Please pray for a special mantle of protection to rest upon the Holy Land in the days ahead, according to Pslam 91. Thank you.
