1. East Coast braces for '$1B' storm as Hurricane Sandy barrels through Bahamas - Fox News
Emergency management teams and utilities along the East Coast are bracing for what could be a $1 billion punch as Hurricane Sandy's 100 mph winds barrel toward the heavily populated region between the Carolina coast and Cape Cod. Sandy has the potential to bring major impacts to the U.S. East Coast through the weekend and into early next week.
~Abba, we ask Your wisdom upon these emergency management teams and utilities in preparing for this storm, give them the ability to deal with each crisis they would encounter. We ask protection from destruction and loss of life, and that people would heed the warnings to prepare for the storm. We come against a spirit of fear, and pray for Your peace to prevail in the hearts and minds of the people. We do pray for Your divine protection, according to Psalm 91. Amen.
-"Because he loves Me, I will rescue him; because he knows My name, I will protect him. He will call on Me, and I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble. I will extricate him and bring him honor. I will satisfy him with long life and show him My salvation." (Psalm 91:14-16)
2. Texas sparks international row with election observers - The Hill
Texas authorities have threatened to arrest international election observers, prompting a furious response from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
~Lord, we do pray for many states to follow Texas' lead in banning international election observers, as they are unnecessary and intimidating, and add more possibilities of interference in our election results. We do not know who asked for their help, or why, but we ask this to be cancelled and become null and void. We, as Americans, can monitor and observe our own elections. In Your Name we pray. Amen.
-"Righteousness makes a nation great, but sin degrades any people." (Proverbs 14:34)
3. Experts: Hackers will crack election systems - World Net Daily
Hacktivist groups like Anonymous and LulzSec are growing more sophisticated every day with their use of new collaborative hacking techniques, such as "crowdsourcing." Meanwhile, voter databases are increasingly being put online on state and local computer systems that are often insecure and administered by part-time IT personnel.
In a close race, as this presidential contest is shaping up to be, shifting the election turnout in a few precincts in a swing state such as Ohio could change the outcome of an election.
~ Father, it seems that evil permeates all the resources available to it. Now, even through electronics - meant to be a blessing - can be misused for evil. We cry out for wisdom to those dealing with "cyber-crimes", and protect the integrity of our election process and results. In Your precious Name we pray, Amen.
-"The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings." (Jeremiah 17:9,10)
4. Feds investigate phony letters warning Florida voters they're not eligible to vote - MSNBC
The FBI and U.S. Postal Service agents are investigating bogus official-looking letters sent to voters in at least 28 Florida counties questioning their citizenship and their eligibility to vote, NBC News has learned.
~ O Lord, we come to You, asking that You shine Your light in the darkness of this subversion, and expose it to the authorities, that it may be dealt with immediately. Truly we do need to put our trust in You. We love You and Your Word, and we ask that this election be in accordance with Your Word. May any and all plans of the enemy to distort the results fail, in Yeshua's Name. We ask for Truth and righteousness to prevail. We bind up all the evil plans of the enemy, and ask for Your choice of each race's candidates to prevail. We ask this in Your precious Name, Amen.
- "Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:14-16)

"Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto Your name give glory, for Your mercy, and for Your truth's sake. Why should the nations say, Where is their God? But our God is in the heavens. He has done whatever He has pleased." (Psalm 115:1-3)

3. Worried about the Syria war, Golan Heights residents seek Israeli citizenship - Ha'aretz
Israel's Interior Ministry says it is seeing a rise in the number of people in the Golan Heights requesting Israeli citizenship. Given that Israel and Syria are still technically at war, some worry that taking Israeli citizenship could be considered treason.

Of Laws, Oaths, and Abominations
The oath of office of the President is required by Article Two, Section One, Clause Eight of the US Constitution. It specifically says, "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." One of the aspects of this defending the laws of the land, especially the supreme law of the land, the Constitution. The occupant of the Oval Office has picked and chosen which of the many laws he will defend. One of the laws he specifically said he would not defend is the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), requiring marriage to be between one man and one woman.
Reporters observing the White House say this president has appointed homosexuals/lesbians to high places within his administration, even to the Supreme Court. He has spoken often about the need to allow homosexuals/lesbians to marry just like heterosexuals. On a campaign stop Thursday, Reuters reports that the White House occupant endorsed state ballot initiatives to legalize sodomite marriage in the states of Washington, Maryland and Maine. Reuters reported that this was an effort to "galvanize enthusiasm for his re-election bid."The president has violated his oath of office by not defending DOMA. Now as a candidate, he is encouraging the end of marriage.
Those with a Biblical worldview know that both the Old Testament and the New Testament speak against sodomy (homosexuality). In Leviticus YHVH calls it "abomination." Yeshua himself reaffirms marriage only between a man and a woman in Matthew 19:4-6, "Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore YHVH hath joined together, let not man put asunder." Romans Chapter 1 also speaks pointedly against homosexuality.
Now here is the point: the law is the law and YHVH's law is His law. In both instances, this president is violating not only his oath of office, but also the tenets of Christianity, which he calls his "faith tradition." Unfortunately, the power of the office holds sway with many who are of the world. Every society that embraced homosexuality is no more. The historic path to destruction is clear--the family structure as given by the laws of nature and the law of the land is the fabric of society. To tear at it, is ripping apart the future of the nation.
Have A Blessed And Powerful Day,

On the Campaign Trail:
11 Days Until Election Day
You have the keys to the White House!
It's estimated that 17 million evangelical voters failed to show up at the polls in the 2008 elections that thrust liberal progressives (some would say socialists) into unbridled power, controlling both Congress and the White House.
It's interesting . . . of the millions of evangelical voters who did vote in 2008, the results are best described as a mosaic.
We voted on non-cultural and cultural issues in a variety of ways - and not necessarily according to expectations or predictions.
The reason? There will always be differing opinions on whether or not global warming is real and what to do about it . . . or what humane plan should be implemented in dealing with illegal immigrants . . . or what role the government should play in feeding the poor . . . or improving our educational system.
But there are standards a clear majority of us do agree on and they are the tenets of Liberty Counsel Action vital work . . .
We unapologetically declare that we are pro-liberty, pro-life, and pro-family!
The candidates who support those causes and most closely reflect other biblical values are the ones we pray will take office in early 2013.
> > > Evangelical voters likely hold the keys to the 2012 election outcome.
The only way to ensure the evangelical Christian vote has the maximum impact in this election is for Christians to turn out and vote!
P.S. With just 11 days remaining until
Election Day 2012, it is imperative that we do all we can to get values voters
to the polls!
God bless you,Mathew Staver, Chairman

Costco Supports Wholesale Changes on Marriage
Same-sex "marriage" may be losing voters, but it still has a commanding lead in one area: corporate support. With their edge slowly slipping away, liberals in Washington State have made a frantic pitch for help from U.S. retail giants. Already, several of them have pitched in with five- and six-figure donations, including the largest check ever--$2.5 million from Amazon.com founders Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos.
Recently, same-sex "marriage" supporters landed another big fish, Costco Warehouse. In a new ad, the wholesale company bulks up its radical agenda by inking its name to the business leaders backing Referendum 74. Nordstrom jumped in next, insisting that employees won't truly feel "welcomed and respected" until Washington redefines marriage for everyone. And while Starbucks, REI, and friends may be cheering marriage out of existence, new polling says the issue is a jump ball in Washington State. The impressive lead same-sex "marriage" had built up over the summer has all but evaporated. After weeks out front, liberals have felt Preserve Marriage Washington steadily gaining--now to within four points (barely the margin of error). For the first time this year, Elway Polling says, support for same-sex "marriage" has dipped below 50% in the state for a slim 49-45% lead.
Of course, most voters are probably thinking twice about counterfeit marriage after watching the harassment of Dr. Angela McCaskill and Jim and Mary O'Reilly. In both cases, supporting marriage or simple democracy cost these families their livelihood. Then came last Thursday's Gallup report. It probably surprised some people to learn that homosexuals make up 3.4% of the country--yet they want to redefine marriage for 100% of America.
Our side is doing everything it can to make sure these next 12 days aren't the last for traditional marriage in Washington State. You can help. Join the push to buy airtime from Seattle to Spokane for ads (like the one below) that spell out the devastating effects of Referendum 74. Then, take a minute to contact companies like Costco. Tell them to stop using their warehouse to redefine your house. (FRC)
The Electoral College

The Electoral College
by Gary Bauer
INTRODUCTION
I have received a number of questions lately about why some states are seemingly more important than others in winning the White House. The answer is the Electoral College.
In a time when there is so much focus on popularity, the Electoral College seems out-of-date to many. But the Founding Fathers had very legitimate reasons for creating the Electoral College. . .
HISTORY
In cobbling together the new nation from very diverse states, one issue that frequently arose was the concern that the large states would dominate the new country. So compromises were reached. One of which was a Congress with two houses -- one house with representation based on population (the House of Representatives) and another house where each state had equal representation (the Senate).
Another compromise involved the election of the president, and it borrowed heavily from the concepts that led to the creation of Congress.
The Electoral College was also designed to prevent large states from dominating the election. Each state is awarded votes in the Electoral College based on its total representation in Congress -- the number of House members plus its two senators.
So California with 53 House members plus two senators has 55 votes in the Electoral College. Delaware with one at-large representative and two senators has three votes. It takes 270 votes in the Electoral College to win the presidency.
THE RACE TO 270
In the race for 270, Barack Obama has the advantage. He starts out with a solid base of Blue states like California and New York, which gives him 201 Electoral votes. Governor Romney's Red state base has 191 Electoral votes.
There are approximately 10 "purple," or swing, states with 130 Electoral College votes that will decide the election: Colorado (9), Florida (29), Iowa (6), New Hampshire (4), Nevada (6), North Carolina (15), Ohio (18), Pennsylvania (20), Virginia (13) and Wisconsin (10).
The most likely scenario for Governor Romney to win involves carrying Florida, North Carolina, Virginia and Ohio, plus one more state. The first three states are leaning in his direction, while Ohio is a toss-up. Thus all the focus on Ohio.
If he loses Ohio, he must flip another state like Pennsylvania, where I am today rallying values voters. And he must still carry an additional state, most likely Colorado. By the way, today's Time poll finding Obama up five points in Ohio is garbage.
WHY YOU MUST VOTE
There is one last point I want to emphasize: You must vote! Just because you live in a liberal Blue state like California and New York does not mean your vote doesn't matter.
While the Electoral College results usually mirror the popular vote, on rare occasions a candidate can lose the popular vote and still win the right combination of states to reach 270 Electoral College votes. This last occurred in 2000 when George W. Bush defeated Al Gore despite losing the popular vote.
There is growing speculation that Barack Obama could lose the popular vote this year, but still eke out a win in the Electoral College. If that happens, it will be impossible for him to claim a mandate for his left-wing agenda, having just lost the popular vote. That's why every conservative must vote no matter where they live.
But more importantly, if there is a strong conservative turnout, it is far more likely that Mitt Romney will prevail in the key swing states, and we will end the Obama nightmare on November 6th!

Settlers Treat Electrocuted Palestinian Boy
A six-year-old Palestinian who was electrocuted was treated by Jews from Neve Tzuf on Monday [October 15] after his parents, seeking medical attention, brought him to the settlement's gate.
The child, who sustained severe injuries, was treated by a medic who resides in the West Bank [Judea and Samaria] settlement. He was later evacuated to the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer for further treatment. Neve Tzuf, which is located in the Binyamin Regional Council, has been at the center of tensions between local Jews and Arabs. The wellspring at Nabi Saleh, located in close proximity to Neve Tzuf, is the site of weekly clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli security forces.
Despite the hostility, the child, a resident of one of the nearby villages, was given first aid by Jewish medics who, with the help of Israel Defense Forces [IDF] Medical Corps soldiers stationed in the area, stabilized the boy until an ambulance arrived from the settlement of Ofra.
Neve Tzuf residents said that the incident was not uncommon and that Palestinians often seek medical treatment at the settlement. On one occasion, the settlers helped a Palestinian receive treatment at an Israeli hospital despite the fact that he did not have an entry permit.
Baruch Ram, who is in charge of security at Neve Tzuf, said "this is a phenomenon. This was not the first time injured and sick people come here-especially in the winter. The assistance we give them does not help us develop good neighborly relations. We've never gotten a 'thank you,' and the truth is that I cannot explain it. We are fulfilling our duty and helping a person in distress," he added.

- Thank the Lord that there were people available in Israel to help the electrocuted boy. Pray that such actions by Israel will turn the hearts of the Arabs away from hate for Israel.

Prayers Requested for Huge Evangelistic Festival in Egyptian Desert
(Santa Ana, CA)-A Christian leader in Egypt is calling for prayers for a huge four-day evangelistic festival starting today in the desert north of Cairo. The unique event is expected to draw 50,000 people from all over Egypt. Hundreds of buses will transport the crowds every day from major cities to the site. The event will be televised and covered by several Christian satellite channels. Television coverage is expected to attract 5 to 6 million viewers.
The main theme behind all the activities is how Jesus can change lives, according to the Christian leader. At the end of each day, there will be a worship service and a direct evangelistic message to call attendees to give their lives to Jesus.
"There is no doubt that God is moving in Egypt and showing Himself in mighty ways to many of His children, and to many who are seeking to know Him," says the Christian contact. "The hunger to know about Jesus and to get to know more about the Christian faith is phenomenal. Jerry Dykstra of Open Doors USA says, "What is happening in Egypt this month is truly awesome. In the midst of increased persecution, turmoil and uncertainty, Christians are reaching out to others and fervently praying 'in such a time as this.' Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ during this weekend event."
