The Middle East in Focus

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you." (Isaiah 54:10)

1. Islamic Jihad: "Every Israeli city is in rocket range" - Jerusalem Online

More than a year after Operation Protective Edge, the Islamic Jihad terror organization delivered a threatening message to Israel. A senior level terrorist in Gaza stated today that "each Israeli city is within range of our rockets now, we implemented many improvements with the ranges, and with our forces that were destroyed. We have many surprises that were kept in secret."

The senior level terrorist that is identified in the Palestinian media as Abu Mujahid claimed that the terror organization learned from their mistakes. According to him, in the many months that have passed since the end of the operation in Gaza, Islamic Jihad implemented many improvements in the field of launching rockets and their strength. They now possess long-range missiles that can threaten the entire State of Israel. (Read More)

2. Palestinians and Iran agree to disarm Israel's alleged nukes - JNS

(JNS.org) The Palestinian Authority (PA) and Iran have agreed to work together in holding an international conference on the nuclear disarmament of Israel, a senior Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) official said.

PLO Executive Committee member Ahmed Majdalani recently visited Iran, where he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamed Zarif and agreed to hold a conference to rid the region of Israel's alleged nuclear weapons, the Jerusalem Post reported.

3. State Department Interferes in Favor of PLO Terrorists - Israel National News

The Obama administration has asked a judge Monday to "carefully consider" the size of the bond demanded from the Palestinian Authority (PA) for its role orchestrating years of terror attacks against Israelis and Jews - directly interfering in a US court case.

In February, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) - the terror group behind the PA - was found liable to pay $218.5 million to victims of terror, a figure that was set to be tripled to $655.5 million according to the anti-terrorism laws under which the case was brought. Legal rights group Shurat Hadin (Israel Law Center) helped represent the 11 families who charge the PA and PLO of inciting, supporting, planning and executing the seven terror attacks which killed American citizens between 2000 and 2004.

In May, the PA admitted it cannot pay such a hefty fine, however - as it is struggling under billions of debt despite an ongoing stream of aid from Israel and other countries - and called the case "political extortion."

Now, US President Barack Obama is reportedly seeking to lower that fine - following a series of conflicts between officials from the State Department and the Justice Department over the issue, an official involved in the case told the New York Times Tuesday. (Read More)

4. IDF Says it is Aware of New Hamas Terror Tunnels - Israel National News

Military sources confirmed for the first time on Tuesday that the defense establishment has information that Hamas has been digging new terrorist tunnels to replace the ones destroyed by Israel during Operation Protective Edge last summer.

Channel 10 News reported that Hamas terrorists have in recent months completed the digging of the tunnels that reach into Israeli territory, and may use them in a future military confrontation with Israel.

According to the report, the IDF holding off on destroying the new tunnels due to the feeling that Hamas is not interested in another round of fighting with Israel.

5. Hamas: Fatah Members Are 'Enemies of Allah' - Israel National News

The rift between Hamas and Fatah is reaching new heights, after a senior Hamas member on Wednesday referred to members of Fatah as traitors who must be punished.

Speaking to the Palestine newspaper, Khalil al-Haya referred to the security coordination between the Palestinian Authority's security forces and Israel as "treason".

According to Al-Haya, anyone who reveals the secrets of the Palestinian forces is nothing but a "traitor to Allah and his messenger". (Read More)

6. Hamas Official: There's No Room for Jews in 'Palestine' - Israel National News

Hamas continues to incite young people to violence and jihad against Israel. On Tuesday, the group concluded a course entitled "Al-Quds Army for Girls", which trains young female Hamas activists on basic combat skills and assistance to fighters.

Rajaa al-Halabi, who heads the Hamas women's movement, said at the closing ceremony of the course that "the liberation army, the pioneers of the liberation, the Al-Quds Army, will liberate Palestine from the defilement of the occupation . . . and the next battle will be the decisive one." 7. Venezuela Delays UN Resolution on Syria - Times of Israel

A UN Security Council approval of a draft statement on Syria has been delayed because of objections from Venezuela, The Associated Press (AP) reported on Wednesday.

The resolution strongly backs intensive preparatory talks on key issues to restore peace to the conflict-torn country.

Council diplomats had hoped to adopt the presidential statement Wednesday afternoon. But Venezuela asked for changes to some language about a political transition and discussions were continuing, the diplomats said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"Expect it to be adopted tomorrow," Russia's UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin told reporters as he left the council Wednesday afternoon, according to AP. (Read More)

8. US jets launch first anti-IS Syria strikes from Turkey -Times of Israel

ANKARA, Turkey (AFP) - US warplanes Wednesday carried out their first air strikes on Islamic State (IS) targets in Syria after taking off from a Turkish base, kicking off a key new phase in the campaign against the jihadists.

A US drone had last week executed a single lethal air strike against an IS target in Syria but this was the first time manned US fighter jets had carried out raids after taking off from Turkey's strategically-located Incirlik base. (Read more)

The Daily Brief

1. Kerry Hails Iranian FM for Regional Outreach As FM Meets With Hezbollah Chief - CNS News

Secretary of State John Kerry noted this week that Iran's foreign minister was visiting Lebanon, and he suggested the outreach was a sign that ostensible moderates in the Iranian government want a different, more positive role in the region.

In fact Mohammad Javad Zarif's agenda in Beirut included a meeting with the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist group, a call for Muslim countries to cooperate against major challenges including "the Zionist entity," and - until it was postponed due to scheduling problems - a visit to the tomb of an arch-terrorist who was once on the FBI's "most wanted" list. (Read more)

- Father, it is unconscionable that our leadership fawns over Iran's relationship with the terrorists Hezbollah, neither of which are "moderates." In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ we cut off the roots of that relationship, and declare that You will destroy every plan of the enemy against Israel and America.

- "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord?" (2 Chronicles 19:2)

2. Death toll rises to 44 in Chinese city rocked by explosions - Fox News

Chinese authorities said Thursday that 44 people, including 12 firefighters, were killed when a series of explosions in a warehouse district ripped through the port city of Tianjin.

The official Xinhua news agency said that 520 other people were hospitalized by the explosions, and 66 of those had serious injuries. More than 1,000 firefighters had been sent to the city to battle fires that had been set off by the blasts, which began late Wednesday at a warehouse for hazardous material, knocking doors off buildings in the area and shattering windows up to several miles away. (Read more)

- Father we pray for Your mercy over China today, as the death and injuries from the explosion in Tianjin create brokenness and sorrow across the city. You are the God who heals, Abba. We ask that You allow them to see Your love as this difficult time unfolds. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

   - ". . . and by His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)

3. Yuan's Plunge Marks End of Chinese Stability for Global Economy - Bloomberg

For about two decades China's yuan was an anchor of stability for the global economy, helping it navigate Asian and global crises by holding steady even as other currencies slid. That era appears to be over. The yuan recorded its steepest two-day fall in 21 years after the People's Bank of China said Tuesday it will allow markets a greater role setting its value. Commodities from oil to industrial metals plunged and policy makers around the region weighed responses, with Vietnam widening the trading band for its currency, the dong, on Wednesday.

An extended slide in the value of the yuan risks triggering a series of competitive devaluations and threatens a global deflation shock as prices of exports and commodities fall. Morgan Stanley said Wednesday that China's export of deflationary pressures "is not a marginal event" given its $10 trillion economy and a deepening slump in producer prices. (Read more)

- Lord - as China holds so much of America's debt, we pray that You will right this situation as quickly as possible. We pray for the people of China to come to know You in a powerful move of Your Spirit. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

- "And I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with Glory, says the Lord of hosts." (Haggai 2:7)

4. China currency devaluation sends global exporters reeling - The Independent UK

China has fired a powerful salvo in the global currency wars with the biggest devaluation of its currency in two decades, in an effort to shore up a spluttering economy.

Beijing's shock move follows official figures showing a dramatic fall in exports in July - when the performance of China's manufacturers was the worst it had been in three years. Policymakers have also grappled with a stock market collapse which forced widespread state intervention to stem the rout. Car sales have slumped and the world's second-biggest economy is growing at its slowest rate overall since the depths of the financial crisis in 2009.

China's central bank, which has cut interest rates four times since November to spur growth, slashed the value of the currency by 1.9 per cent against the dollar - the biggest one-day move since the mid-1990s - catching markets completely off guard. (Read more)

- Lord, as global exporters reel from this devaluation, we pray that this will be an opportunity for You to come to them with Your heart changes and Your wisdom. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

- "He who gets wisdom love his own soul; he who keeps understanding will find good." (Proverbs 19:8)

5. Three maps that show how Russia and NATO might accidentally escalate into war - Washington Post

The Russian military exercises in March spanned the nation's vast territory - from the high north, far above the Arctic Circle, all the way to territories near Japan. Massive NATO drills a few months later pulled thousands of troops across Europe. After decades of post-Cold War calm, Europe is again becoming a region of high military drama - and according to some experts, a place with a growing risk of accidental confrontation.

Russian soldiers woke in early March to unannounced, snap exercises that eventually grew to encompass more than 80,000 service members. Above the Barents Sea, strategic bombers practiced attacks. Near the Latvian border, airborne troops performed landings as attack helicopters and artillery gave them cover. In the Baltic Sea, the Russian Navy practiced with missiles.

The training was on such a large scale that it could only have been practicing for what would happen during a war with the U.S.-led NATO defense alliance, according to the European Leadership Network, which on Wednesday published a report looking at the increased military exercises on both sides of the Russia-West divide. (Read more)

- Lord, we take authority over this danger. We ask for only Your perfect will to be done among these nations, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

- "No weapon that is formed against you will prosper . . ." (Isaiah 54:17a)

6. Kentucky clerk won't give gay couple marriage license, defying order
- Fox News

MOREHEAD, Ky. - A clerk's office turned away gay couples who sought marriage licenses on Thursday, defying a federal judge's order that said deeply held Christian beliefs don't excuse officials from following the law. The fight in Rowan County began soon after the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage nationwide in June. County Clerk Kim Davis cited her religious beliefs and decided not to issue marriage licenses to any couple, gay or straight. Five couples sued in federal court, and legal experts likened the case to the resistance some local officials in the South put up five decades ago after the Supreme Court legalized interracial marriage.(Read more)

- Lord, we thank You for the courage demonstrated by County Clerk Kim Davis in standing her ground for her own religious beliefs, upholding Your Word and Your Law above that of man. We ask that she be vindicated in a higher court of appeal, and that "same-sex couples" find You as their Savior, their Lord, and their Judge. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

- "We must obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29)

7. Jimmy Carter Says That He Has Cancer That Has Spread - ABC News

Former President Jimmy Carter revealed that he has cancer following liver surgery, and said the disease spread to other parts of his body, according to a statement. "Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body," the former president, 90, said in a statement today.

"I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare.  "A more complete public statement will be made when facts are known, possibly next week."

According to a statement, Carter underwent "elective surgery" at Emory University Hospital last week to remove "a small mass in his liver." The statement did not say whether the mass was suspected be cancerous at the time but simply that "the prognosis is excellent for a full recovery." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for former President Carter - that You will come to him to show him the errors that have driven his life. He does know Your Name, but seems not to understand Your ways. So we ask for salvation for his soul, and a radical change in his thinking. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

- "For God did not send His Son in to the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:17)

8. Now the cultural cleansers want to ban a familiar Southern word - Fox News

Cultural progressives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina want to change the name of the Dixie Classic Fair. They say the word "Dixie" is offensive. (Read more)

- Lord, as those who wish to destroy the Southern culture and history move forward with their eraser, we pray that You will intervene to stop them. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

   - "It is not good to show partiality to the wicked . . ." (Proverbs 18:5a)

9. Franklin Graham Just Called For His Followers To Take Major Action Against Target. Here's Why - Western Journalism

Citing Target's recently-announced stance advocating the abolition of gender in many circumstances, famed evangelist Franklin Graham urged his fellow Christians to boycott the retail giant.

Target announced earlier this month that it is "moving away from gender-based signs," though acknowledged that "guests have told us that sometimes . . . signs that sort by brand, age or gender help them get ideas and find things faster." (Read more)

- Father, we thank you for the courage of Franklin Graham to openly stand against the LGBT agenda at Target stores.  We ask for Your strength and encouragement for him, and for support from all who value You in the midst of a sinful world. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

  - "Be strong and of cgood courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)

10. California is battling yet another dangerously explosive wildfire - the Jerusalem Fire - Washington Post

The good news is that the Rocky Fire, by far California's biggest and most dangerous fire so far in 2015, is now more than 80 percent contained - after having consumed more than 69,000 acres north of San Francisco.

The bad news is that another large fire so close to the Rocky Fire that the two have nearly touched - the Jerusalem Fire - has now also exploded in size. It's currently at 20,500 acres and just 16 percent contained, up from just 6,000 acres on Monday. The fire essentially doubled in size from Monday to Tuesday, and then grew still more to reach the current 20,500 acres. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for rain for California along with Your forgiveness for the sinful directions in which they have wandered. We ask for Your protection for the firefighters, and a move of Your Holy Spirit across the state. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

  - "Ask for rain in the time of latter rain." (Zechariah 10:1)

The Daily Jot

The non-war on Islam

The past two US presidents, including the current one, have repeatedly said that the US is not at war with Islam. As much as this Administration has tried to convince Islam that there is no war, the war is declared by Islam and Islam is behaving as if it is at war with the US. It's kind of like "We are not at war with Islam, but Islam is at war with us." Or similarly, "Not all Muslims are terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslims." Very similar. Remember the "president's" remarks in his conciliatory speech to Islam on June 4, 2009: "In Ankara, I made clear that America is not--and never will be--at war with Islam." There is not doubt, however, that Islam is at war with America. Indicators are increasingly being exposed.

Just this week, another Muslim was convicted on terrorist charges. AP reports: "Fazliddin Kurbanov, a Russian-speaking truck driver who fled Uzbekistan in 2009, was arrested two years ago by federal authorities who said he was determined to carry out an attack on US soil. Prosecutors also said he tried to provide computer support and money to the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, which the US government has identified as a terrorist organization." Three others were arrested within the last seven days on terrorist charges, in attempts to either join or aid and abet the Islamic State (IS). Many in America are being "radicalized," as they say, through IS's adept social media platform.

Even Democrats are growing uneasy about the Administration's inept efforts at countering IS social media. Politico reports: "The faltering effort is just the latest example of a troubling trend for the administration: While ISIL uses social media to grow its movement, by grooming curious teenagers and circulating gruesome videos designed to go viral, the U.S. online response is crawling at bureaucratic speed. The government's main vehicle to counter the group's messaging on the Internet - a State Department Twitter account urging people to "Think Again" about joining or supporting ISIL - has drawn scorn from lawmakers like Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who has called it "laughable" for its lack of engagement."

A review of the "Think Again" site confirms Booker's description of laughable. Meanwhile, IS is cranking out warnings that it is going to soon be beheading Americans in their homes. The Blaze interviewed an IS hacking group member on Kik where the IS warned that it will soon be attacking American servicemen, saying "you will see when US military and government personnel start getting beheaded in their homes." The frequency of attacks is increasing and the warnings are becoming more specific. Islam in America is an issue that must be addressed.Proverbs 29:12 says, "If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked." That June 4 speech set the tone and opened the door. Who will stand to close it?

Terror Alert

Terror Alert Reported by 2 Sources:
Threatens our Military and Government Employees

1. Terror Alert from ThreatsUSA:

ISIS Publishes Spreadsheet on Twitter; endangers Hundreds of Military and Government Personnel

Below is the cryptic message received yesterday at 1:13 p.m. from ThreatsUSA:

"Islamic State supporters have published a spreadsheet with names, addresses and email credentials of hundreds of US military and government workers. Attacks encouraged. Vigilance urged."

This list was initially published over Twitter. Account now deactivated.

DoD is urging vigilance for all service members.

2. 'Soon, Very Soon You Will See': Pro-Islamic State Hacking Group Issues Chilling Warning to America - The Blaze

A representative for a pro-Islamic State hacking group issued a chilling warning to members of the U.S. military and government Wednesday, promising that "very soon" followers of the organization would retaliate for overseas bombing targeting the terror organization. . . . "Just like they spy on muslims, we are spying on them, watching their employees, watching their soldiers, recording their movements . . ."

"the brothers don't need to attack them in military bases or secured buildings," the hacking group member added. "they can now turn up in their houses. in their homes. this is war, what did you expect? u think u can bomb the islamic state and we don't do nothing back? soon, very soon you will see."

When asked exactly what could be expected to be seen "soon," the member replied, "you will see when US military and government personnel start getting beheaded in their homes." (Read more)

- Father God, in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we come against this wicked scheme that is endangering the very lives of these government and' military workers on our soil. We ask for Your Hand of divine protection to rest upon each one; and for a miracle that would obliterate this spreadsheet. We thank You that it is written, dear Lord, that nothing is too difficult for you. Amen.
- "I said to the arrogant and boastful, Deal not arrogantly [do not boast]; and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn [of personal aggrandizement]

. . . . For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup [of His wrath], and the wine foams and is red, well mixed; and He pours out from it, and all the wicked of the earth must drain it and drink its dregs.

But I will declare and rejoice forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

All the horns of the ungodly also will I cut off [says the Lord], but the horns of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall be exalted."
(Psalm 75:4,8-10 AMP)

Update: The "Equality Act"

Update: The "Equality Act"

U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) have introduced the "Equality Act" (S. 1858 and H.R. 3185). This is really a deceptively named, "supercharged" version of the rejected Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). Like ENDA, it would provide special privileges and benefits to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered persons by incorporating sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity into laws regarding employment. But this proposed legislation will go much farther, encompassing laws governing public accommodations, public facilities, public educational institutions, private employment, housing, credit, and jury selection. It would change over twenty-five provisions of the U.S. Code.

The Equality Act would also effectively require high schools to allow boys in the girls' locker rooms, strip elementary schools of authority to dismiss teachers who transition from one sex to the other during the school year, family-owned businesses would be required to affirm such behavior, and religious hospitals would be required to provide sex-change operations. The bill would prevent Christians and others from objecting on religious grounds and seeking protection based upon their belief in natural marriage.
While the liberal courts and legislatures work to end our first liberty, religious freedom, Americans still believe in it. A new poll by Democratic Pollster, Pat Caddell, finds that "Americans overwhelmingly favor the right of people to exercise their conscience . . . They do not believe a Christian photographer should be forced by the state to take pictures at a homosexual so-called wedding . . ." When asked specifically, 82% of respondents said the photographer should have the right to refuse. Should the federal government determine what constitutes "legitimate religious beliefs? -- 11% agreed and a massive 79% disagreed. Two-thirds of respondents who identify with the 'left' . . . disagreed".
- May this destructive bill never see the light of day in either chamber!

- " . . . the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil [a]has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil." (I John 3:8)

Congressional Wrap Up

Congressional Wrap Up

When Congress returns on September 8th, they will have little time to deal with very important legislation: bills to defund Planned Parenthood, to prohibit abortions over 20 weeks (Pain Bill), and the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA). Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said he will not allow any of these to be added as riders to the temporary Continuing Resolution (i.e., budget bill, hereafter CR), something conservatives had hoped to do. The Iran Nuclear Deal, the CR and other bills are priorities of the leadership.

Republicans do not want to risk another unpopular government "shutdown" and be blamed for it because they added these riders, each despised by Democrats. Conservatives must find other must-pass legislation to attach these important bills. As standalone legislation, each of them face a Presidential veto and not enough votes for an override. Yet First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) cannot wait. So much hangs on religious liberty. Without it, conscientious objectors to the HHS mandate (e.g., the Little Sisters of the Poor, Christian Universities, etc.) and same-sex marriage (e.g., wedding vendors, chaplains, county clerks, etc.) will all be in jeopardy.
- May Christians rally this August to make sure their representatives cosponsor and vote for FADA!

- "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous." (I John 3:7)

Obama Can't Be Trusted

Obama Can't Be Trusted

In making the case for his nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran, President Obama has frequently claimed that the inspections regime is the most intrusive ever, and if Tehran is caught cheating sanctions will be "snapped back."

There are serious deficiencies with both the inspections regime and the ability to reimpose sanctions. But the biggest fault with the deal is Obama's lack of will.

U.S. intelligence agencies discovered some time ago that the Russians are cheating on the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty. Members of Congress are demanding a response, but the Obama White House is blocking the release of the intelligence report -- essentially giving Russia a pass.

Russia is reportedly responsible for a massive cyberattack on the Pentagon. And the White House does nothing. Obama is responsible for enforcing treaty violations and defending our country. Yet he does nothing.

How can we trust this president to enforce any deal against Iran's cheating when the deal is such a critical part of his legacy? We can't. (Gary Bauer)

Kerry's Admission

Kerry's Admission

According to Secretary of State John Kerry, we shouldn't expect the administration to stop Iran's cheating either.

Kerry said yesterday that if Iran violates the terms of the arms embargo included in the nuclear deal, sanctions will not be reimposed. That is a stunning admission.

According to Reuters, Kerry said, "The arms embargo is not tied to [sanctions] snapback. It is tied to a separate set of obligations. So [Iran is] not in material breach of the nuclear agreement for violating the arms piece of it."

Wait a minute. Remember the American hostages languishing in Iranian jails?

We were told that they could not be part of this deal because it only involved the nuclear issue and nothing else. But the arms embargo was included and Kerry is admitting it is a separate issue. So the administration caved on Iranian demands over weapons and gave up on our citizens.

It gets worse. Kerry seemingly attempted to shift the burden for enforcing the weapons embargo to the United Nations. "There is a specific U.N. resolution outside of [the Iranian nuclear] agreement that prohibits [Iran] from sending weapons to Hezbollah. There is a separate and specific U.N. resolution that prohibits them from sending weapons to the Shia militia in Iraq."

Yet as Reuters acknowledges, and as Kerry surely knows, "Tehran has consistently violated the U.N. arms embargo and missile sanctions. Since 2010, those breaches have been documented by the U.N. panel of experts on Iran."

Members of Congress who vote for this disastrous deal will do so knowing in advance that this administration will not stop Iran's cheating on the weapons embargo. The next time Hamas and Hezbollah attack Israel with weapons made or purchased by Iran, those senators and representatives will have blood on their hands. (Gary Bauer)

Something to Think About

Did Isaac Newton predict major turn in Bible prophecy?

Pope's visit, super experiment, Shemitah, blood moons all converging in September

The date Sept. 23 has become ubiquitous among the writings of many prophecy watchers. They don't know what or if anything will happen on that date but they question why it keeps popping up everywhere: in movies, on the pope's appointment calendar, in the statements of politicians and the calculations of a famous mathematician from the 18th century.
Sir Isaac Newton, the English scientist and devout Christian, had a burning desire to study end-times prophecies of Christ's return. He had a particular interest in Daniel's prophecies, and he put together calculations that point to Sept. 23, 2015, as a key date.
Mark Biltz, author of "Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs," said he's been aware of Newton's formula, based on Daniel 9:25, since 2008 and believes it has merit worth studying.

You take 49 prophetic years or 17,640 days from the time when the Jewish people are restored to Jerusalem, which occurred on June 7, 1967, and you arrive at Sept. 23, 2015.

"The Isaac Newton days going from 1967 to Yom Kippur 2015 which leads us into 2016 came from my original teachings back in 2008 that everyone is talking about," Biltz said. "This lines up with the end of the biblical Shemitah and possible proclaiming of the year of Jubilee." (WorldNetDaily) Read more.

Our Grandmothers' Songs

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:

O FOR A THOUSAND TONGUES TO SING

"I . . . heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands." (Revelation 5:11)

Lyrics

O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!

My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name.

Jesus! the name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease;
'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
'Tis life, and health, and peace.

He breaks the power of canceled sin,
He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.

Three Years of Rain Falls in 12 Hours as Deadly Storm Causes Flooding, Mudslides in Chile

At least six people are dead in Chile after a potent weekend storm brought unusual rains to Chile's Atacama desert region, while the coast was battered by destructive waves and strong winds. Antofagasta, Chile, saw 0.55 inches (14 mm) of rain in just 12 hours Saturday into Sunday. That may not sound like much, but it's actually more than three years worth of rain for this town where the average annual rainfall is just 0.14 inches.(Read more)

NPR Commentator: "I Don't Know If I'm Pro-Choice Anymore!"

(San Diego, CA)-Harvard graduate Ruben Navarrette, Jr. is a regular commentator on National Public Radio's "Tell Me More With Michael Martin," as well a nationally syndicated columnist with the Washington Post Writers Group. He is also a member of the USA Today Board of Contributors.

In other words, he is a prominent reporter whose stories carry weight in mainstream media.

Recently, writing for the Daily Beast, Navarrette-who says he has supported abortion rights for 30 years-confesses that after watching the damning Planned Parenthood videos, he is so shaken, he now questions his position on abortion.

This is a big deal.

We need more gutsy reporters like Navarrette to put the media's feet to the fire on the truth about Planned Parenthood's crimes against humanity. We need more mainstream commentators to be honest with themselves and their readers about their motives and agendas for not covering these videos. I didn't like the scolding, but I needed to hear it. For those of us who are pro-choice, the Planned Parenthood videos are a game changer. As to whether that means I'll change my view, I'm not sure. I'm on the bubble. Ask me in a few weeks, after the release of more videos."
