ISIS marks anniversary of caliphate amid Ramadan calls for violence
"For surely your enemies, LORD, surely your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered." (Psalm 92:9)
1. A perfect Islamic storm looming large on the horizon - American Thinker
The perfect storm of events for an Islamic terror attack is brewing for July 4th this year. The Obama administration and Western leaders are failing to report the truth about Islam and the significance of this date. It was on the 17th of Ramadan, which just happens to precisely coincide this year with America's Independence Day, that the greatest and most significant battle in Islamic history took place: the Battle of Badr in 624 AD. This battle marked the first significant victory for Islam, as well as the beginning of Mohammed's reign of terror. (Read more)

New ground-level ozone standards being pushed by Obama and the Environmental Protection Agency would result in widespread bans on fireworks shows, backyard grilling and other Independence Day traditions. (Read more)
3. The Threat From the Hamas-ISIS Connection - Commentary Magazine
To listen to both Hamas and ISIS, the two Islamist terror groups are enemies. As Foreign Policy noted back in May, Hamas views the Islamic State as a threat to its despotic hold on power in Gaza and destroyed a mosque affiliated with its followers. ISIS returns the sentiment, condemning Hamas for its brutal rule and vowing as recently as this week that it will topple them.
What then should we make of the news coming out of Israel this week that Hamas provided vital help to ISIS's deadly terror attack on Egyptian security forces in the Sinai. (Read more)
4. Additional Security Measures Taken for July 4th Jihad Terror - Daily Mail UK
30 Americans ALREADY arrested in 4th of July terror alert
Officials revealed this week that the Islamic terror group has a foothold in all 50 states as it continues to target disaffected Americans through its torrent of online propaganda and slick videos of barbaric beheadings and mutilations.
The FBI has reportedly set up command centers in each of its 56 field officers in case extremists try to mark the July 4 weekend by unleashing similar carnage here in the U.S. American ISIS 'recruits' to date have included schoolgirls, a young nurse, a pizza shop boss and even a National Guard soldier who hatched a plan to gun down 120 of his own colleagues. - Lord God, we take note of the extensive data being released in this article, whose source is in England. Abba, we praise you for each Islamic terrorist - male and female -- that is now behind bars due to the careful and thorough work of FBI agents. Lord God, we ask that ALL information be revealed about the networks these 30 terrorists have been connected with, and that many more would be caught before they can do us any harm. We pray for the souls of these lost men and women; come, Lord Jesus, visit each one and bring them to You. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen and amen.

5. US Air Force Cancels July 4 Celebrations At UK Bases Due To 'Threat Assessments' - Stars & Stripes
The U.S. Air Force has canceled 4th of July events in Britain due to "local threat assessments," it was announced Thursday. A statement on the website of Royal Air Force Mildenhall said RAFs Lakenheath and Mildenhall called off celebrations set for Friday and Saturday at Royal Air Force Feltwell.
"The decision was made due to the most current local threat assessments. The base continually surveys the security environment alongside host nation counterparts and must take appropriate measures based on those assessments," the statement said.
The statement quoted Col. David Eaglin, 48th Fighter Wing vice commander, as saying the decision was taken in the interest of safety.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation has caused, and we will continue to work with our UK counterparts - both military and civilian - to make sure we keep our airmen and the local communities safe," he said. (Read more)

2. Hamas, Hezbollah said to discuss Israel ceasefire - Times of Israel
A senior Hamas official is slated to meet with Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut in the coming days in a bid to strengthen ties between the two terror groups.

The IDF has reportedly decided to grant all Egyptian requests to reinforce troops in the Sinai Peninsula hours after Islamic State-linked insurgents killed dozens of people Wednesday in a slew of attacks in the region's north, according to Channel 2.
As a part of the 1979 peace treaty signed by Israel and Egypt, each country must approve any additional military forces in the area on either side of the border. (Read More)

The Jewish Home party on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to respond to the latest wave of terrorist attacks by renewing construction in Judea and Samaria and by cancelling some of the "gestures" given to Palestinian Arabs in honor of Ramadan.
The call was made after members of the faction held an urgent meeting following the recent attacks. During the meeting, party chairman Naftali Bennett informed the members of the party about his meeting with Netanyahu.
In a statement after the meeting, the party said that it demands that Netanyahu build in Judea and Samaria, strengthen the settlement enterprise and cancel the Ramadan gestures.(Read More)
5. "Hamas is assisting the Islamic State in Sinai" - Jerusalem Online
Less than a day after the terror wave that hit Sinai and cost the lives of more than 70 Egyptian Army soldiers, Israel already knows who to point the blame at. "We have clear reports that Hamas is supporting a Sinai terror organization that belongs to the Islamic State," announced Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Yoav Mordechai.
In an interview for Al Jazeera in Arabic, Mordechai addressed the series of terror attacks that shook the northern part of Sinai and claimed that Hamas was involved. "In the latest terror attacks Hamas provided assistance in arms and organization to a group that supports the Islamic State," he claimed. "We have examples of Hamas commanders that took an active part in this assistance. Hamas battalion commander Wa'al Faraj smuggled injured terrorists from Sinai to the Gaza Strip."(Read More)

1a. Rep. King: Could Be Fourth of July Threats in NYC, Nationwide - Newsmax
Rep. Peter King, chairman of the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, tells Newsmax TV that Islamic State [ISIS] terrorists may be plotting to explode a bomb in the New York metropolitan area on the Fourth of July. Military.com reports that DOD Joins Homeland Security and the FBI in warning of the threat of an ISIS attack in the U.S. over the 4th of July holiday weekend. (Read more)
1b. AlertsUSA Issues Weekend Warning - (CHPP)
Additionally, AlertsUSA's sources within the defense and intelligence communities have been absolutely clear in their information sharing that the threats facing the U.S. from both Islamic State supporters/operatives, as well as al Qaeda, are very real. While mainstream reporting repeatedly states that there is no specificity to the threats, this is a half truth. Yes, it is true that it is impossible to identify each and every radically minded individual and attack plan. But there are also numerous plots about which intelligence has in fact been gathered, and where possible, counterterrorism operations have taken place. We are aware of several which have been undertaken in the past 7 days alone with mixed results. AlertsUSA strongly encourages everyone to go and enjoy this holiday weekend, but given the high threat environment, it is behooves you to keep your antenna up.
Are you heading to a large public event? Keep your eyes open. Make it a point to identify exits closest to you (often different than entrances!). Don't focus on faces, but hands. Watch the flow of the crowds. Are there people dressed inappropriately (such as would be necessary to cover nefarious items) or bags left unattended? What about other attributes about someone's demeanor that do not look right and might signal evil intent? Tell a cop, but move. All it takes is a quick word to bring a person or situation to their attention. Above all, trust your gut instincts. If your brain is screaming that something is not right, you would be wise to heed those cues. With just a little practice, this basic mindset of increased awareness becomes second nature and will serve you well. (AlertsUSA)
- Abba, we do not take these warnings lightly. We realize that we have many enemies, and with the recent Supreme Court rulings distancing us more from Your Word and You, that we are headed toward judgment as a nation, unless we turn, and repent. Father, we do repent for what these official bodies of our nation have chosen to say and do, and we ask that in Your judgment, You will remember mercy! Protect us from Your enemies and ours. Guide our steps in secure paths, and may Your presence hover over us and our loved ones. We ask that there be no attacks, that Your wisdom will be given to those with the ability to thwart any evil, and that they would do so. Our hope and trust is in You, Lord. May there be no loss of life this weekend from any would-be attackers. We ask this in Your Name, that You would show Yourself strong on behalf of those whose trust is in You, Amen.
- "Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to His anointed. He answers him from His Heavenly Sanctuary with the victorious power of His right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm." (Psalm 20:6-8)
2. Obama: Americans need to shift religious views to accept gay marriage - The Examiner
After the Supreme Court issued its ruling on gay marriage Friday, President Obama gave a speech in which he said Americans need to change their religious views to be accepting of gay marriage, the Daily Caller reported. To that end, he encouraged gay marriage supporters to 'help' people overcome their deeply-held religious views.
"I know that Americans of goodwill continue to hold a wide range of views on this issue," he said. Initially, he exhibited a bit of respect for those who oppose same-sex marriage.
"Opposition in some cases has been based on sincere and deeply held beliefs," he said. "All of us who welcome today's news should be mindful of that fact. Recognize different viewpoints. Revere our deep commitment to religious freedom."
"But today should also give us hope that on the many issues with which we grapple often painfully real change is possible," he added. The implication was clear: Those who disagree with the idea of gay marriage based, for example, on their religious views, must change to be more like progressives who accept gay marriage. (Read more)
- Lord, how sad it is that Mr. Obama does not realize that we, as human beings, cannot "change our religious views" to suit him or any man. You are in us, and we in You! We cannot, and would not, change Your thinking. We live by Your laws and precepts alone. They are unchangeable. Like You, we love the homosexual, but we cannot accept his/her lifestyle. You are the Standard, the Model by which we live, and we love You more than any other. Help them to see that, Lord, and come to You in repentance, and for freedom of that which binds them. We ask this prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen.
- "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." (John 14:21)
4. Seattle 6th Graders Can't Get a Coke at School, But Can Get an IUD - CNSNews.com
Middle and high school students can't get a Coca-Cola or a candy bar at 13 Seattle public schools, but they can get a taxpayer-funded intrauterine device (IUD) implanted without their parents' consent.
School-based health clinics in at least 13 Seattle-area public high schools and middle schools offer long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs), including IUDs and hormonal implants, to students in sixth-grade and above at no cost, according to Washington State officials.
LARCs are associated with serious side effects, such as uterine perforation and infection. IUDs, specifically, can also act as abortifacients by preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg.
The state and federally funded contraceptive services are made possible by Take Charge, a Washington State Medicaid program which provides free birth control to adults who are uninsured, lack contraceptive coverage, have an income at or below 260 percent of the Federal Poverty Level - or, in this case, to teens who don't want their parents to know they're on birth control. - Lord, how can these things be, today in this country? How this grieves us for the safety of these young girls, who do not yet have the maturity to make such decisions, and, in fact, should not be taught or influenced to consider having pre-marital sex. We ask for You to again shine Your floodlights on this which is being done in secret, to expose it to the light, and that the parents would become aware of this travesty, and put a stop to this practice immediately! These children in 6th grade are only 11 or 12 years old. They are children. We do pray for the soul of our nation, O Father! Protect our children, and help parents to do the same we pray, O Lord!
- "It would be more profitable for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were hurled into the sea than that he should cause to sin or be a snare to one of these little ones." (Luke 17:2)
5. CDC Official Calls Obama Worst President, Amateur, Marxist After Influx of Illegal Alien Minors - Judicial Watch
Following the influx of illegal immigrant minors from Central America, an official at the federal agency charged with protecting public health describes Barack Obama as "the worst president we have ever had," an "amateur" and "Marxist,"... Tens of thousands of Central Americans came into the United States...and with contagious diseases-many considered to be eradicated in the U.S.-became a tremendous concern. Despite claims the administration was caught off guard, the White House and four Cabinet departments predicted last year's surge of at least 60,000 illegal juveniles over the U.S.-Mexico border and expect it to more than double to 127,000 this year, according to an internal document, revealed in the Washington Examiner. (Read more)
- Father, again, it seems the children are the "unfortunate and helpless" ones being exploited. We pray any and all diseases brought into our country, whether it be from Central America, or North America, or anywhere else in the world would be identified, treated and eradicated, and the children returned to their countries of origin. Lord, You told us that everything should be done decently and in order. We pray that You would help those who are tasked with this situation be given Your wisdom, and procedures to be more efficient, and benefit all involved, including us who are legal, natural-born citizens. Thank you!
- "Let all things be done decently and in order." (I Corinthians 14:40)
6. No breakthrough at Iran nuclear talks, ministers push for deal soon - Jerusalem Post
Tehran and world powers were still shy of a breakthrough at nuclear talks on Thursday as foreign ministers flew in to help push for a swift deal and resolve disputes over how sanctions could be lifted and how Iran's compliance would be monitored.
The deal at hand with Iran over its nuclear program will be a single, comprehensive text, annexes and all, in English and in Farsi, with "staggeringly consequential" effects on the security of the world, a senior US official said on Monday.
Entering a self-imposed deadline for that text, scheduled for Tuesday, the work of negotiators remained incomplete. Political decisions from all sides await. Lawyers still have to review the document once its finished.
But the American team hopes to adopt a final text within days - formally achieving agreement on a Comprehensive Joint Plan of Action. The United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany say the CJPOA will adequately restrict Iran's ability to obtain nuclear weapons. (Read more)
- Father, we watch in amazement, as we see Iran, and each of these countries taking their respective places in end-time prophecy. It seemed that Iran was a country of no consequence not too long ago, but now has become a major player in world peace, or lack thereof.
Surely your Word is true, it does not return to You void, but does accomplish what You said it would. We pray for all these diplomats and representatives of various countries wrestling with coming to a peaceful solution, and then being able to enforce all safeguards to keep the agreement, be given Your wisdom, discernment, timing, and understanding.
We thank You, Lord, again, that You are ever-watchful and accomplish Your purposes and timing in the Earth. We trust You, and ask for Your wisdom and protection. Thank You for our everlasting Covenant with You. Amen.
- "O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in Heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You?" (2 Chronicles 20:6)
7. Russia's Putin to meet Iran's Rouhani next week - Reuters
MOSCOW, July 2 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani plan to meet in Russia's city of Ufa next week, a Kremlin spokesman said.
"Yes, (the meeting is) expected and we really prepare such meeting," Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
Russia holds the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in the city of Ufa on July 9. Iran is an observer to the organisation. (Read more)
- Father God, as Your appointed watchmen on the wall, we view this upcoming meeting with concern. Lord God, we ask You to be in the midst of this dialogue, and to block any decisions from being made in this hour that are not according to Your will. We ask this in Your name, amen.
- " . . . thy will be done . . ." (Matthew 6:10)
8. Congressman Slams State Department for Opposing Anti-BDS Law - Washington Free Beacon
Rep. Peter Roskam (R., Ill.) blasted the State Department on Wednesday for rejecting aspects of a new trade law that is supposed to discourage boycotts against Israel.
Roskam and Sen. Ben Cardin (D., Md.) co-authored the bipartisan legislation, which would require the Obama administration to pressure U.S. trading partners to reject the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. The measure was included in the Trade Promotion Authority bill, which passed Congress and was signed into law this week.
The State Department objected to the language of the law on Tuesday, and indicated it would not oppose boycotts against Israeli settlements outside of the 1949 armistice line. (Read more)
- Father, we thank You for this member of Congress, who is publicly standing up against those who wish to strangle Israel's economy by following the policy of BDS. We ask that more members would speak up against this move, even next week when Congress comes back into session. Bring the blessing due Rep. Roskam for his blessing of the nation of Israel. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen and amen.
- "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." (Genesis 12:3)
Netanyahu Honors the 4th of July:
"This is a Great Day"
- Netanyahu Lauds Biblical Bond With America Ahead of Fourth of July
"The history of our two countries is remarkably intertwined [because] the Founding Fathers of America were inspired by the Bible . . . God bless Israel and God bless the United States of America." - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
(Israel)-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin and other Israeli leaders participated in American Independence Day celebrations at US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro's residence in Herzliya on Wednesday, expressing congratulations and stressing the close and "unbreakable" bond between the two countries.
"This is a great day because on the 4th of July, all Israelis unite with our American brothers and sisters. It's our celebration too," stated Netanyahu. "That's because the history of our two countries is remarkably intertwined. The Founding Fathers of America were inspired by the Bible, and specifically by the Book of Exodus, by the dream of building freedom in a new Promised Land. And as you stand in the Chamber of the American Congress, you see right across you the image of one man-Moses-with a quote from the Bible."
The Israeli leader continued to extol the heritage and values that both nations share, noting "the vision of justice and the vision of peace espoused by the Prophets of Israel" that motivated American leaders. "But just as our heritage inspired America, America inspired us. If you read the Founding Fathers of Zionism, you see how powerful and inspirational the American Revolution was-the ideas of freedom and liberty."
"On behalf of all Israelis, I wish all Americans a happy 4th of July. God bless Israel and God bless the United States of America," the Israeli premier concluded.
"Our relationship is first and foremost an emotional one," President Reuven Rivlin told the crowd. "Growing up in the years after the Second World War, when the world was divided between East and West and defined in terms of good versus evil, the 'Stars and Stripes' represented, in our eyes, freedom and progress-the American Dream, as we saw it. For the first time in centuries, perhaps for the first time in history, we, the Jewish nation, and later on the State of Israel, felt we had a true friend standing beside us."

Bosnia-Herzegovina: culture, conflict and the cross
The beautiful country of Bosnia- Herzegovina was the setting for one of the most devastating wars of the 20th century. If you walk down the streets of Sarajevo today, bullethole- ridden walls are reminders that it endured a tortuous siege lasting nearly four years. One of the deadliest episodes in this war was the execution of 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys in the town of Srebrenica by Bosnian Serb forces. Religious nationalism in Bosnia-Herzegovina became an idol that brought savage destruction. Ethnic wars make sharing Jesus so much more challenging.
The roots of this conflict extend back to 1389, when a Turkish Muslim army was victorious over the ethnic Serbians. In the 1990s, as communism fell these old ethnic rivalries re-emerged; fighting broke out again between Serbians (who were Orthodox Christians), Croatians (Catholics) and Bosnian Muslims. Religion was used by all sides, and the cross of Jesus, the ultimate symbol of love, was raised as a standard by both Catholic Croat forces and Orthodox Serb forces.
The war was immensely complicated, and many atrocities were committed on all sides. The war was not a religious one, yet religion brought definition to the different ethnic groups. Christianity was used as justification for war and a motivation to fight. How far this was from the Jesus who told a people under brutal Roman occupation to "love your enemies". How far this religious tribalism was from the Jesus who said it didn't matter what mountain we worshipped Him on, but what was important was that we would worship the Father in Spirit and truth (John 4:21-24).
How can we expect Muslims in Bosnia-Herzegovina today to convert to the religion of those who committed the Srebrenica massacre? How can they understand the truth of what Jesus did on the cross when it has been so tainted by the war? Yet the Muslims of Bosnia-Herzegovina desperately need to meet Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
How can we pray?
That followers of Jesus in Bosnia- Herzegovina will be courageous witnesses to the beauty of the grace-soaked gospel of Jesus.
That young Bosnian Muslims will be protected from the excesses of extremism and develop a hunger only Jesus can fill. Pray they will have dreams of Jesus.
For a deep reconciliation to permeate this land, leading to a turning to Jesus, the one in whom there is no Jew or Greek, Croatian, Serb, Bosnian, Muslim, Orthodox or Catholic.
A Verse to Decree:
". . . for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:
SOFTLY AND TENDERLY JESUS IS CALLING
"He's calling you!" Mark 10:49
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He's waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?
Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me.
O for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
Please go here.
About the Author:
Words & Music: Will L. Thompson, 1880
About the Hymn:
When the world-renowned lay preacher, Dwight Lyman Moody, lay on his death bed in his Northfield, Massachusetts, home, Will Thompson made a special visit to inquire as to his condition. The attending physician refused to admit him to the sickroom, and Moody heard them talking just outside the bedroom door. Recognizing Thompson's voice, he called for him to come to his bedside. Taking the Ohio poet-composer by the hand, the dying evangelist said, "Will, I would rather have written "Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling" than anything I have been able to do in my whole life."
This hymn was sung in the Academy Award winning movie Trip to Bountiful (1985), and at a memorial service for American civil rights leader Martin Luther King, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, April 8, 1968.
Lamprey Eels Fall From Sky Over Alaska
Several foot-long lampreys have apparently fallen out the sky recently in Fairbanks, Alaska. They've been found in a shopping center parking lot and on lawns, and residents are unnerved by the creepy, toothed eel-like fish.
According to a story in the Alaska News-Miner, "Adult Arctic lampreys have fallen from the sky four times this week in Fairbanks, including at the Value Village parking lot, according to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. That's unusual for a fish that's seldom seen in the water up here."
While some news outlets had fun sensationalizing the story (a "New York" magazine headline blared that "Horrifying Fish Monsters Are Falling from the Sky" and another noted that "'Vampire Fish' Fall From the Sky in Alaska") it's a weird enough story on its own.
The phenomenon of small animals (such as worms, fish, or frogs) falling mysteriously from the sky has been reported for centuries. Waterspouts or tornadoes crossing over a lake or river can pick up debris, including lightweight aquatic animals, and carry them for miles before raining them down on a puzzled populace. There were no reported tornadoes or waterspouts in Fairbanks, however.
It could be a prank, but the most likely explanation for the falling lampreys was offered by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game: they're dropped from the air by seagulls. Seagulls can often be seen feeding on lampreys and small fish in and over the water, but they don't always eat their prey on the spot. Sometimes they fly away with their marine lunch in their beaks, and on occasion the birds will accidentally drop their meal before it's consumed.
In those cases a lamprey may be found some distance from its aquatic home, and unless a person happens to be watching a seagull as the bird drops its meal, a lamprey would appear to fall from the sky (or be found on a sidewalk) without any apparent origin.
A grand total of four lampreys have been found over the past week-hardly a deluge-and the fact that dead lampreys are rarely seen up close by the general public (being difficult to catch and not sold commercially in the area) may have added to the unnerving effect. (Discovery News) Read more.

Jewish, Arab, Iranian Believers Prove Peace is Possible
With the Middle East engulfed in flames, a story of peace and reconciliation was unfolding last week in Manchester, England, where delegates from all over the Muslim world came together for a unique conference.
And as Iran continues its aggressive stance against Israel, threatening to wipe the Jewish state off the map, Iranian refugees and asylum seekers now living in Britain embraced their Jewish 'brothers', some of whom had travelled from Jerusalem to meet with them.
Also present was a sizable contingent of Egyptians along with representatives from Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon and Algeria. Others wanting to join them had been unable to get visas.
As part of the great untold story of the Middle East, the three-day conference was hosted by the Church's Ministry among Jewish people (CMJ), a 200-year-old Anglican society specifically dedicated to spiritual revival in Israel.
Although working mainly among Jews since its founding in 1809 by slave trade abolitionist William Wilberforce and others, CMJ has also consistently reached out to Arabs over the years and, in 2012, held their first At the Crossroads conference at their Jerusalem headquarters to enable Jew and Gentile to express their oneness in Christ and work together to spread the gospel on the basis of a prophecy from Isaiah (chapter 19) of a "highway" of peace and reconciliation from Egypt to Assyria (which includes much of the modern-day Arab world) via Israel. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven" [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
