"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)

Tonight we invite all of our prayer partners to join us in lifting up the people of Israel as they mourn the death of one of their greatest leaders, former P.M. Ariel Sharon. You will find information below about the life and the legacy of this - at times - controversial man, but our purpose here is to ask our Lord to "comfort all who mourn" tonight in Israel.

A state memorial service for Ariel Sharon will be held tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Knesset in Jerusalem. His casket will then be taken by military convoy to his ranch in the Negev, Shikmim Farm, for a military funeral at 2pm Israel time.

The White House on Sunday announced the U.S. delegation to former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's funeral. The delegation will be led by Vice President Biden. Other members of the delegation are:

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro; Rep. Eliot Engel, D-N.Y.; Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.; and Daniel Kurtzer, former ambassador to Israel.

As you lift up the funeral proceedings in prayer, please note below the special security alert we are issuing for the safety of all involved from terrorist plots. Thank you.

Statement of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

"The State of Israel bows its head on the passing of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Ariel Sharon played a central role in the struggle for the security of the State of Israel over all its years. He was, first and foremost, a courageous fighter and an outstanding general, and was among the IDF's greatest commanders. From his youth, he served the people of Israel on the battlefield. He did so as a soldier in the War of Independence, a commander in the [1956] Sinai campaign and the Six Day War, and up to his decisive role in the battle over the Suez Canal that led to the turning point in the Yom Kippur War.
"He established Unit 101 and took the initiative in the war against terrorism, which became a central pillar of the State of Israel. Upon leaving the military, he continued to work on behalf of the people of Israel both in his many government roles and as the 11th prime minister of the State of Israel. His memory will be enshrined forever in the heart of the nation."

Statement Released by President Shimon Peres:

"My dear friend, Arik Sharon, lost his final battle today. Arik was a brave soldier and a daring leader who loved his nation and his nation loved him. He was one of Israel's great protectors and most important architects, who knew no fear and certainly never feared vision. He knew how to take difficult decisions and implement them. We all loved him and he will be greatly missed. I send my condolences to the Sharon family, may he rest in peace."

Urgent Prayer Requests

Urgent Prayer Requests

Please pray for the safety and the security of all who will be involved in the funeral and the burial of Arie Sharon in the morning. The logistical "nightmare" of simply moving all visiting dignitaries from the memorial service at the Knesset to the actual burial site in the Negev is going to be a Herculean task. Ask our Lord to grant His strength and His wisdom to all who are involved in this process; and thank Him that, as we pray, Abba Father will lift up a canopy of protection over all. Amen!

A Prophecy to Be Fulfilled Now?

> > > A note from the editor: This is the first time we have ever addressed a prophetic word in any of our alerts, but this time we will make an exception to our rule . . .

There is much excitement now about the words spoken by Rabbi Kaduri before his death, related to what will happen after the passing of Ariel Sharon.

We submit these two articles to you now for your own prayerful consideration and discernment. Thank you.

Will Ariel Sharon 'death prophesy' be fulfilled soon? - WND

Today's passing of former Israel Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has brought his life and deeds into focus -- both from friends and enemies.

But in the view of this rabbi, Sharon's death has triggered the prophetic clock.

Something amazing, he said, is going to happen ... (Read full article here.)

Will Sharon's Death herald the Messiah?

The Rabbi, the Note and the Messiah
- Israel Today

A few months before he died, one of the nation's most prominent rabbis, Yitzhak Kaduri, supposedly wrote the name of the Messiah on a small note which he requested would remain sealed until now. When the note was unsealed, it revealed what many have known for centuries: Yehoshua, or Yeshua (Jesus), is the Messiah.

Prayer Request:

Lord Jesus,Yeshua, this prophecy of Your return after the death of Ariel Sharon leaves us wondering if it is a spiritual return to awaken those who yet do not know you in Israel or if it is Your physical return per Your timing to establish Your peace and rule. We find this exciting to contemplate and lift up praise to You alone, regardless of what occurs. We await and pray for Your soon return as we know we desperately need You, Amen and Amen.

Verse to Decree:

"Do not let your heart envy sinners, but be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day; for surely there is a hereafter, and your hope will not be cut off." (Proverbs 23:17-18)

Obama's use of executive power faces reckoning at Supreme Court

Nothing less than the boundaries of executive power are at stake Monday as the Supreme Court considers whether President Obama violated the Constitution during his first term.

Oral arguments slated for Monday will center on a trio of recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that were deemed unconstitutional by lower courts. (The Hill) Read the full story here.

- Abba Father, we ask that this court case be settled by Your views of justice, adhering to our national laws are they were designed. We thank You, Father, for raising up Your right hand and extending Your arm into the midst of this court's decision. We ask in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

Disaster in West Virginia

Disaster in West Virginia - Help Needed

Sara -

I need your help.

A few days ago, there was a terrible incident in West Virginia, which has left more than 300,000 of our fellow citizens without safe, useable water. The water in the nine affected counties isn't even safe after boiling! Currently there isn't a timeline for when the water will be safe again.

There are thousands of suffering families, young mothers, and elderly folks who need your help. Fortunately, Americans have a great history of coming together during times of emergency to help those in need. This is one of those times. AFP Foundation, our sister organization, has already sent additional staff loaded with clean water and supplies into West Virginia to help with relief efforts, and hope you'll help us bring aid to those in need.

Here are some ways you can help:

- Donate to our friends at the American Red Cross. - Send supplies, such as water, baby wipes, and hand sanitizer to:
113 Lakeview Drive, Charleston, WV 25313

- Many of our state chapters have begun putting together relief kits to send to West Virginia. Please contact your state director, or email us at and we'll get you in touch with the best person.

There were no warnings for this disaster. There was no time to prepare once the emergency struck. Experts suggest that the best way to prepare is with a 72-hour kit that includes water, food, and toiletries. As much as we hope it doesn't, an unexpected emergency could happen anywhere, so please take the time today to set aside enough supplies for you and your family for at least 72 hours. For more information on how you can prepare you and your family for emergencies, go here.
Thank you for all you do to help your fellow Americans. I know the citizens of West Virginia will appreciate your assistance.

Tim Phillips, President
Americans for Prosperity

- Abba Father, having safe water to use for drinking, cooking and washing is a key element for long term health. This chemical spill has blocked that supply now for 300,000 people in nine counties in the State of West Virginia. We ask that the reason for this disaster be found quickly, and that safe water be made available quickly to those in need. In Jesus' Name we offer this prayer, Amen and Amen.

- "It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear." (Isaiah 65:24 )
