The Daily Brief

1. Iran, Hezbollah establish training base in Nicaragua - Times of Israel

Iran has established a training base in northern Nicaragua near the border with Honduras that is used by Hezbollah, Israel Radio reported Thursday.

- Father, we pray for a complete dismantling of this base. Just as You drove the Midianites and Amalekites from Gideon's army, we pray that You will drive Iran and Hezbollah from Nicaragua.

- "And every man stood in his place all around the camp; and the whole army ran and cried out and fled." [Judges 7:21]

2. Iran will seize back assets from Great Satan: Iran Cmdr. - Press TV (Iranian State Media)

A senior Iranian commander has censured the blocking of Iran's assets by the US as "economic terrorism" and reaffirmed Tehran's determination to seize its national wealth back by all means necessary.

- Thank You Lord, for protection against the plans of the wicked! As Iran has attempted to steal peace and safety from Your people, we declare that Your righteousness will prevail over their threats.

-"and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion. Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night." [Nehemiah 4: 8-9]

3. Depression, Suicides Rise as Euro Debt Crisis Intensifies - CNBC

Europe is approaching a crisis as the region's debt crisis and austerity measures increase the rates of depression, suicide and psychological problems -- just as governments cut healthcare spending by up to 50 percent, according to campaigners, policy makers and health organizations.

- Father, we pray that Your gift of faith will rise up in the hearts of the people of Europe. We ask that Your Spirit wash over those who have no hope, bringing true change and the knowledge of Your love to them.

-"Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep Your precepts." [Psalm 119:134]

4. Social Security combats bullet rumors - CNN

Praise the Internet and pass the ammunition: the blogosphere is roiling with conspiracy theories over a Social Security Administration shopping list for 174,000 hollow-point bullets. Depending on whom you believe, police who protect Social Security Administration officers are either preparing for impending financial doom by purchasing lethal ammo to put down rioting citizens, or they're just making a standard purchase of ammunition for a federal police agency.

It all began last month when the agency, which is primarily responsible for distributing benefits to the disabled and retired people, posted an announcement seeking bids for 174,000 hollow-point bullets. Why? cried some bloggers.

- Lord, as we see these rumors more and more through this administration, we pray for a revelation of the underlying cause. You are the One who sees all hidden agendas in the hearts of men, so we ask for full disclosure of the purpose of such purchases.

- "Who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts" [1 Corinthians 4:5]

5. Is This What Democrats Really Think of Republicans?? - Fox News

After three instances in three days of Democratic officials likening Republicans to Nazis, the question has to be asked: Is this really what Democrats think of Republicans?

- Father, as political name calling and attempts to vilify people run rampant through American elections, we pray for sanity and compassion. We ask for Your hand over these elections, to reveal Your will for America and her people.

- "He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces; from heaven He will thunder against them, The Lord will judge the ends of the earth." [1 Samuel 2:9-10]

6. Dems Struggle to Include - God? Fox news

In God We Trust - Four words that speak volumes about America's values, yet Democrats attending their convention in Charlotte, N.C., booed and shouted 'no' when His name was restored to the party platform.

- Father, we pray for the Democratic party as they refused Your Name three times. Even as Peter also denied You three times, we pray that You will forgive and restore these people to Your family. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, we bind the spirit of deception and antichrist that pervades this arena.

- "Then he began to curse and swear, saying, 'I do not know the Man!' And immediately a rooster crowed."[Matthew 26:74]

7. Federal judge OKs section of Arizona immigration law allowing police to question status of suspected illegals -AP

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that Arizona authorities can enforce the most contentious section of the state's immigration law, which critics have dubbed the "show me your papers" provision.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton clears the way for police to carry out the requirement that officers, while enforcing other laws, question the immigration status of those they suspect are in the country illegally.

- Lord, we offer praise that a favorable court ruling has been made over this immigration law. We pray for wisdom on the part of Arizona's law enforcement as they begin to implement this section.

- "He who walks with wise men shall be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed." [Proverbs 13:20]

The pathetic and prophetic state of US politics

Hold the presses! The Democrats, after several voice votes, reinstated Jerusalem and the word "God" into their party platform. But not until there was such an uproar about it that the political capital loss without reinstatement was greater than their principles against such. This is the art of politics in action. It is not exclusive to the Democratic Party and this kind of thing has gone on since the beginning of party politics--one of the main reasons why George Washington in his farewell address warned against political parties. Notwithstanding, that the Democrats would be forced by public opinion to reinstate in their platform something they do not believe is pathetic.

Public funded abortion and defeating the Defense of Marriage Act for the sake of same sex marriage are still in the Democratic platform. And by the campaign posters depicting the occupant of the Oval Office as Jesus Christ and "heaven sent", etc., perhaps their concept of "God" is not necessarily Biblical. Having said that, there is nothing Biblical about a Mormon nominee. Mormonism is a cult. Their Jesus is not the Yeshua Ha Mashiach of the Bible. I know there are folks out there who argue he is the same, but the characteristics and qualities of the true Yeshua are not the same as the Mormon Jesus. Having said that, the Mormon value system supports Israel, is pro-life, pro-marriage, and capitalist not socialist.
Indeed, both party's candidates are not ideal to the true Christian. America, in her present state, is in a prophetic decline. I say "prophetic" because there are many verses in the Bible that address what happens to a nation whose leadership embraces killing the unborn, homosexuality, the enemies of Israel, covetousness of your property and so on. Suffice it to say that Proverbs 29:2 is a catch all for what we are experiencing: "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." The history behind each candidate's belief system is fraught with red flags or what should be red flags for any Christian, irrespective of "political party."
Many say that they will not vote. They say they will not vote for evil. I would say that by not voting, or by voting for a non-viable candidate, it is allowing the present system to advance. We have to ask our conscience if that is what the Lord would have us do. Be clear. This time in our history is similar to when Israel had rulers who did not do right in the sight of YHVH. There was no choice for the Israelites. Even though we have not much of a choice, we do have a choice--that men fought and died for to afford us such; a choice that I still believe was a blessing from YHVH. Our choices have a bearing on our destiny, as the Lord said in Ezekiel 22:30, "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."
Yes, our nation has fallen into spiritual disrepair. The solution indeed is not political. But like the wall around Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah, we have to start somewhere. We need to stand in the gap. We need to be wise about our choices. YHVH will know our hearts through both our prayers and our actions. We cannot give up. We need to choose life that ourselves and our children may live. Let us be a prophetic, not pathetic people.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Islamic Council:

Record Number of Muslim Delegates at DNC

A record number of Muslim delegates are attending this year's Democratic National Convention, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

An estimated 100 Muslim delegates from 20 different states are in Charlotte, the group said in a press release, which pointed out that only a "handful" of delegates attended the Republican National Convention last week in Tampa, "during which the RNC adopted a platform plank targeting the religious practices of Muslims," the group's press release said.

There were 43 Muslim and Arab-American delegates at the DNC in 2008 and 25 in 2004, according to CAIR.

"The more than doubling of Muslim delegates at this year's Democratic National Convention is a direct result of their hard work and grassroots organizing within the Democratic Party," CAIR Government Affairs Coordinator Robert McCaw said in the press release. "It is also a sign of the American Muslim community's growing civic engagement and acceptance in the Democratic Party."

CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. (Newsmax) Read more.

God and the DNC

God Ekes Out A "Win" At Democrat Convention

As we told you yesterday, the Democrats' platform is radical and hostile to Middle American values. The major media and Democrat politicians initially laughed at us for pointing out that God had been dumped from their platform. But by the end of the day, their hair was on fire as it became apparent that their moderate camouflage had been stripped away.

There is no way that FDR, with his D-Day prayer, or Harry Truman, who recognized the modern state of Israel, or John F. Kennedy, with his tax cuts and willingness to stare down our enemies, would have any place in today's Democrat Party.

Once it was clear the Democrats were on the verge of a major debacle, the left-wing media jumped into damage control mode. They rushed to assure us that Barack Obama had personally intervened to restore God and Jerusalem in the platform.

Really? Then why didn't he intervene before last night? The Democrat platform was drafted last month in Detroit!

So now we're supposed to believe that Obama really wanted Jerusalem recognized in his party's platform as the capital of Israel? Then why can't his State Department or his own White House press secretary answer the very simple question, "What is the capital of Israel?"

By the way, the Democrats still fail to condemn Hamas, and they still fail to reject the Palestinian demand to swamp Israel demographically with millions of so-called refugees.

We're also supposed to believe that Obama wants God back in his party's platform. But this is the same man who told Pastor Rick Warren that it was above his pay grade when Warren asked him at what point do babies deserve human rights. This is the same man who repeatedly voted to deny medical treatment to babies who survived abortions. This is the same man who twisted Scripture to justify men "marrying" other men.

But I don't doubt that Obama did personally intervene yesterday. He had a four-alarm fire on his hands. The phones were likely ringing off their proverbial hooks from furious Jewish voters and black pastors who were already on edge before the convention began. No doubt they were livid as they learned that Jerusalem and God had been ripped out of the platform.

So what did the Democrats do? What they do best -- they rigged a vote!

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, serving as the convention chairman, called for a two-thirds voice vote to amend the platform and reinsert the deleted language on Jerusalem and God. But it was clear God didn't have the votes. So Villaraigosa called for a second vote. Again, it was clear God didn't have the votes. So Villaraigosa called for a third vote. God still didn't have the votes, but this time the chairman overruled the delegates, many of whom booed and hissed.

Let's be clear about this: They weren't objecting to language that Republicans use all the time and which is found in our Declaration of Independence -- that our liberties come from God. No, they were booing a simple reference to our "God-given talents." And, by the way, the same convention that booed God last night cheered Bill Clinton, and tonight they will cheer Barney Frank!

My friends, I suspect God would have preferred to lose the vote. Why would He want to be in a platform of a party so committed to the destruction of His innocent, little unborn children? (Gary Bauer)

To view a video of the actual vote, go here.

A Closer Look at the DNC Platform

The Bottom Line: The Democrats Are The Extremists!

Please don't miss the main point: At least half of the delegates pledged to Barack Obama do not believe Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. At least half of the delegates pledged to Barack Obama don't want to acknowledge God in their party's platform.

What more should anyone need to know to realize that today's Democrat Party is a radical secularist party that bears little resemblance to the party that existed in recent years?

Just consider the marriage issue. Their keynote speaker last night, Bill Clinton, signed the Defense of Marriage Act after it had passed the House of Representatives and the Senate by landslide, bi-partisan margins of 342-to-67 and 85-to-14. Just 16 years later, this president is refusing to enforce that law, wants it repealed and has embraced the radical notion of men "marrying" other men.

And it's not just the delegates gathered in Charlotte. These folks represent many radicals who are burrowed into virtually every federal agency, who run every major union and who spin the news every night on most networks. They don't want God in the public square. They want abortion-on-demand and same-sex "marriage." But the American people do not!

The Republican Party, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan should make this assault on faith and values a constant theme, along with unemployment and deregulation.

In every swing state that is up for grabs -- Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, Wisconsin, Virginia -- the people have voted to defend traditional marriage. Overwhelming majorities would be shocked that God lost three votes at the Democratic National Convention -- IF they know about it. And that is as much a failure of the GOP inside-the-Beltway establishment as it is media bias. (Gary Bauer)

Is Israel About to Go to War??

19 Signs That Israel And Iran Are On The Verge Of War

Please examine this research and reach your own conclusions:
Is Israel about to go to war?

There is going to be war in the Middle East. It is just a matter of time until it happens.
Israel has decided that there is no way that it can ever allow Iran to develop the capability to build nuclear weapons. Iran has gone "all-in" on developing a nuclear program and it has become a matter of national pride at this point. Iran does not fear an Israeli attack against its nuclear program. In fact, Iran anticipates that an Israeli attack would cause the Islamic nations of the Middle East to come together and declare war against Israel. Sadly, there is a very strong chance that an Israeli attack on Iran would actually spark a larger regional war. But there is no way that Israel is going to allow Iran to develop the capability to build nuclear weapons, and time for a strike may be running out.
It has become quite clear that the Obama administration does not want to strike Iran. So if Israel wants to do something about Iran, Israel is going to have to be the one to do it. But if Obama wins the U.S. election in November, he might work to actively block Israel from attacking Iran for his entire second term, and the Israelis believe that by 2016 it will be way too late to do anything about Iran's nuclear program. If Israel attacks before the election, Obama would be in danger of appearing to be "anti-Israel" if he came out against the attack. And considering the fact that Jewish voters are a key voting block in swing states such as Florida that is not something he would want to do. But after the election Obama would not have to worry about what Jewish voters think. After the election Obama could move to block an attack on Iran indefinitely.

Read these 19 signs by going here.

Note: #16 reports the following:

Something very unusual appears to be happening in Iran. One Iranian family is reporting that Iranians are being ordered to stay inside for the next two weeks. . . . The husband said that their government has just shut sown the whole country for 2 weeks. Every business and every dwelling is ordered to close. Every citizen ordered to stay in their home. If they go out they are stopped by police and will have to show their id and or papers. Her husband said they are being told it is because the Arab leaders are meeting with their government for the next 2 weeks, and that's all they were told.

Missing!

Nobody Attends Planned Parenthood DNC Rally

The movie Field of Dreams promised, "If you build it, they will come." The Planned Parenthood abortion business built a big stage and set up a large area for Democrats to attend their rally today. And no one came.

To hear Planned Parenthood tell the story in pictures, Newark Mayor Cory Booker appears to have a huge crowd listening to his every word as he speaks from the stage. Booker told the handful of people attending that you don't love women if you oppose Planned Parenthood subsidies and abortion on demand.

Another picture from Planned Parenthood makes it appear an enormous crowd is cheering actress Aisha Tyler, a Planned Parenthood board member who called President Barack Obama, "The best President this country has ever seen."
However, pictures taken of the entire crowd during the rally by Mary Katherine Ham and John McCormack tell a much different story.
To view photos of the actual attendance at this Planned Parenthood Non-Event in Charlotte this week, go here.

The Good News Corner (Part Two)

The Good News Corner (Part Two):

The Charlotte Prayer Rally the Dems Shunned

[Note: we are calling this a GOOD NEWS report, as the Gospel was preached at the rally this week, and prayers were offered for all in authority. We also praise the Lord for the 9,000 who came to Charlotte last Sunday . . . to pray]

There was a lot of talk about the Islamic prayer meeting last Friday in Charlotte. It was sanctioned by the DNC and was expected to draw 20,000. It drew perhaps 200.

There was a lot of talk about the Occupy protests that were expected to add a disruptive presence to the city, but less than 1,000 protesters showed up, despite months of hype and build up.

There was, however, a rally that drew multiplied thousands of attendees on Sunday and was officially shunned by the Democratic National Convention. Oh, you didn't hear about it?

I'm speaking about the Charlotte 714 rally (based on the biblical text found in 2 Chronicles 7:14) where Christians from more than 100 different churches in the region attended a seven-hour, non-political rally at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. (According to the figures released by the amphitheater, there were 9,000 total attendees over the course of the day.)

Thankfully, God was front and center at the Charlotte714 event, an event that was significant because it was, far and away, the largest gathering in Charlotte outside of the DNC itself; it gathered together a diverse group of pastors, leaders and congregations; and it was totally non-political in tone. In fact, the only really "political" moment of the day came when a black minister urged his fellow African-Americans not to vote for President Obama because of his radically pro-abortion stance. Yet there was not the slightest call to vote for Mitt Romney, whose name may not have been mentioned once.
Instead, the focus was on our sins and failings as the Church in our nation, recognizing that America's greatest problem is not so much the presence of darkness as it is the absence of light. As I said in the closing message of the night, "The only reason that abortion of demand still exists in Charlotte and there is not a greater hope for the mothers and their babies is because of the apathy of the xhurch. And no-fault divorce among heterosexual Christians has done more to destroy marriage than all the gay activists combined."
Thankfully, the response was heartening, as thousands pledged themselves afresh to be "the salt of the earth and the light of the world" (Matthew 5:13-16), wanting to make Charlotte714 into a movement more than an event. It's a shame that you probably didn't hear about it until now.
