The Daily Brief - Monday, May 23, 2011

For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. (Isaiah 62:1)

The Daily Brief

1. Netanyahu to make major policy speech tonight - CHPP

Prime Minister Netanyahu will address a large gathering tonight at the annual AIPAC meeting, addressing United States and Israel policy.

He will also address a joint session of Congress tomorrow at 11am.

- Father, we lift up Prime Minister Netanyahu as he addresses AIPAC tonight and the Congress tomorrow. Thank you that your favor goes before him. May his speech not only be of persuasive words of human wisdom, but also in demonstration of the Spirit of God and of power.

- You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come. (Psalm 102:13)

2. Senate Agenda: PATRIOT Act Extensions (S. 1038)

After a couple weeks adrift in the U.S. Senate, the chamber is scheduled to vote at 5pm today on new legislation to take up: extending the PATRIOT Sunsets Extension Act (S. 1038), a bill to extend expiring provisions of the USA PATRIOT Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005 and the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 until June 1, 2015. Some have noted the timing after the killing of Osama bin Laden at the beginning of the month.

- Father, we thank you for watching over our country and our people here and around the world. We ask that you would open and make heard what needs to be heard, and protect the freedom and rights of others to speak for your glory.

- "Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom." (2 Kings 6:12)

3. House Agenda: Budget-Balancing Amendment

Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC), said Thursday that the powerful group of conservatives will call for votes on a tough balanced-budget amendment, a cap on domestic and mandatory spending at no more than 18 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) and deeper cuts in the upcoming fiscal 2012 appropriations. The group backs the constitutional amendment (H J Res 56) sponsored by Joe Walsh, R-Ill., requiring Congress to balance the budget each year and cap discretionary and mandatory spending at 18 percent of GDP. The resolution has 50 cosponsors in the House. Senate Republicans support a similar proposal by Patrick J. Toomey, R-Pa. "We want the one that has the support of 47 senators," Jordan said. (Congress.org)

- Father, we thank you for a strong bloc of stalwart conservative representatives willing to not only force the issue, but take meaningful action to actually and permanently fix our fiscal problems.

- "The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow." (Deuteronomy 28:12)

4. House Bill: Iran Threat Reduction Act (H.R. 1905)

Rep. Howard Berman (D-CA) has introduced the Iran Threat Reduction Act (H.R. 1905) to strengthen Iran sanctions laws for the purpose of compelling Iran to abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons and other threatening activities.

- Father, we thank you for Rep. Berman and his leadership on Iran, especially as it relates to the security of Israel. We pray for the members of the House Committees on Foreign Affairs, Financial Services, Oversight and Government Reform, the Judiciary, and Ways and Means all of whom have jurisdiction on this bill. We pray for a period of consideration and a period for passage and enactment into law.

- "Wisdom is better than weapons of war" (Ecclesiastes 9:18)

5. House Bill: To prevent the misuse of foreign law in Federal courts (H.R. 973)

Of the federal judiciary, this bill requires "In any court created by or under article III of the Constitution of the United States, no justice, judge, or other judicial official shall decide any issue in a case before that court in whole or in part on the authority of foreign law, except to the extent the Constitution or an Act of Congress requires the consideration of that foreign law." This would include limiting the applicability of Sharia Law in the United States.

- Father, may we always be a people free to proclaim your word in this country. We ask you to protect the Constitution and our States from laws that would undermine that freedom.

- "Many nations shall come and say, 'Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.' For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." (Micah 4:2)

6. Senate Bill: Parental Notification and Intervention Act, S. 1005

Senator Boozman introduced the Parental Notification and Intervention Act of 2011 (S. 1005), a bill to provide for parental notification and intervention in the case of a minor seeking an abortion. The bill would arm parents in every state with the right to stop teen abortions. The bill, co-sponsored by five other Republican senators, requires that parents be notified by certified mail at least four days in advance of any abortion to be performed on their minor daughter and gives them power to stop an abortion from being performed.

- Father, we thank you for the leadership of medical doctors in the U.S. Senate like John Boozman. We ask you to advance this legislation to protect families, parents, children and their unborn children. Father, we pray for an end to abortion in America.

- "If sinners entice you, Do not consent." (Proverbs 1:10)

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

For Zion's Sake. I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth (Isaiah 62:6,7)

1. Erekat: If Netanyahu accepts '67 lines, we'll resume talks - Jerusalem Post

Palestinian Authority chief negotiator Saeb Erekat on Sunday said that he agreed with Obama's assertion that the 1967 borders should be the basis for negotiations with Israel, but that it was more important that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accept this premise.

- God, what strength is the voice of a man over the eternal, all-encompassing Word of God that states that You established the Land of Israel for a homeland of the Jewish people forever. No man or nation has power to stand against the prophetic Word of the Lord God who spoke over the Land and the Jewish people as a nation. Empower Netanyahu with Your presence to stand tall on the promises which God spoke. He is God's leader who is appointed to hold fast to the hand of the Lord and lead Israel and its people down the homestretch to victory over all their enemies. In Jesus Name.

- "Rise up, Lord, and let Your enemies be scattered; and let them that hate You flee before You. Return,O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel. And the Lord said, Is the Lord's hand waxed short? you shall see now whether My word shall come to pass unto you or not." (Numbers 10:35-36,11:23)

2. Netanyahu denies crisis with US - Ynet News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday said that media accounts of the disagreement between himself and Obama have been "blown way out of proportion."

- God, close the mouth of the media and cut off all their lies and treacherous words against Israel. You will never allow any agreement by Israel to this suicide attempt to destroy the Jewish people by Israel returning to the 1967 borders when Jerusalem was divided. To share any portion of Jerusalem with another nation or people would mean disobedience to God who gave Jerusalem and all the land to the Jewish people. God, send angels to surround Netanyahu and protect him day and night. Scatter the unscrupulous impostors who are the enemies of Israel and defeat their plans. In Jesus Name.

-"Behold, I (God) send an angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. If you shall indeed obey God's voice and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries. You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images." (Exodus 23:20,22,24)

3. U.S. Republicans disappointed by Obama's Mideast speech - Ha'aretz

Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor expressed disappointment Thursday in regards to Obama's Mideast policy speech, saying he failed to propose a serious plan for achieving Mideast peace.

- God, bring forth other strong voices who compel the truth and stand together as they agree with the prophetic words of God. Raise up an army who will not compromise good government policies for the Middle East, and will support Netanyahu's sound judgment as leader of the people of Israel. In Jesus Name.

- "And it shall come to pass in that day, that God will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." (Zechariah 12:9) "But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions." (Obadiah 17)

4. Obama vows to stand up to Hezbollah over 'assassination' - AFP

Obama pledged Sunday that the United States will stand up to the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militant group which he accused of carrying out political assassination.

- God, we pray for the souls of those who are members of terrorist groups, whose appetite for shedding blood is insatiable, though inhuman. They are victims of their heritage, devoid of love, and trained from a youth to murder, steal, kill and destroy. The Lord rebuke this evil. Lord, we ask that You raise up other leaders of nations who will not tolerate these groups until justice is carried out. Those who stand for righteousness will prevail. God, combat the forces of evil by the powerful blood of Jesus and reach down from heaven and pull out as many as will, and save their souls. In Jesus Name.

- "Behold I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with Me" - says the Lord. (Revelation 3:20)

5. Obama seeks to soothe Israel on Mideast vision - Reuters

Obama on Sunday sought to soothe Israeli fury over his new Middle East peace proposals by making clear that the Jewish state would likely be able to keep some settlements in any final deal with the Palestinians.

- God, move all the world to recognize and respect the leadership of Netanyahu as sole Prime Minister of Israel, because it is under his leadership, under God that this nation and its people are guided and survive. One nation lead by its own leader. The arms of other leaders are too short to expand the oceans in an attempt to weigh the internal matters of another nation successfully. Otherwise, chaos and confusion follows. God, we ask for holy warring angels to come and surround the Biblical borders of Israel, for no man would dare fight the protecting angels of Israel who withstand its enemies. In Jesus Name.

- "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer your foot to be moved: He that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil: He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore." (Psalm 121)

Prophecy Clock Ticks Forward--US throws in with enemies of God

Obama's 2009 speech in Cairo signaled a significant departure from traditional American diplomacy and subsequent White House actions have moved the prophecy clock forward. The speech was held at the Muslim Brotherhood controlled Al Azhar University and members of the banned Muslim Brotherhood were especially invited in an "in your face" diplomatic slap on US ally Hosni Mubarak. Since then, there was what appeared to be a landmark shift in foreign policy as the United States participated in the overthrow of the Egyptian government in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood--the foment-er of modern terrorist groups such as al Qaeda, Hamas, Jamma Islamiya and is allies with Hezbollah.

This signaled change now has become US policy. The president declared in his May 19 Middle East policy speech "it will be the policy of the United States to promote reform across the region, and to support transitions to democracy...In the months ahead, America must use all our influence to encourage reform in the region." Reform means revolution. Reform means that the US is going to actively support the overthrow of governments throughout the Middle East with the imperialist goal of establishing democracy. Islam will eagerly embrace democracy because it means that Sharia Law and its institutional oppression of human rights will be legitimized by the vote of Muslims--see Afghanistan, Iraq, Gaza, interim Egypt.

Billions of American taxpayer dollars and most likely the blood of our sons and daughters will be spent instigating socialist-style revolution and helping establish Islamic rule throughout the Middle East. There is no where in the US Constitution that allows a president authority to place the full forbearance of American policy behind overthrowing governments and establishing democracy around the world. This stated policy is immoral and unethical because the US will be supporting enemies of God and further draining our national wealth and treasure at a time of deep economic hardship. This alone should be an impeachable offense if only there were statesmen to force the issue by doing what is right.

Notwithstanding, the prophecy clock ticks forward with this inane policy. Many have wondered where America stands in the end times. Every single nation that is mentioned in scriptures as coming against Israel in the end is currently an Islamic nation or one with deep Islamic ties. America has traditionally stood in the breech preventing such boldness from occurring. It is now, at least under the misguided and illegal actions of this president, opening the physical door to the antichrist and his plan. While we know these events will happen as prophecy unfolds, it is better for us to overcome evil with good rather than experience the wrath of God as in Zechariah 12:9, "I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
