The Daily Brief

1. Security Entourage Earning Epic Reputation Ahead of Obama India Visit - Fox News

A foreign force this size probably hasn't been in India since the era of British colonization.

- Stand in the gap for this president, whose lavish spending habits on this trip seem to be out of bounds. Call forth congressional hearings in this matter; our taxpayer money can be put to better use than this.

2. U.N. Human Rights Council to Take Aim at New Target: United States - Fox News

When the United Nations Human Rights Council, a conclave of 47 nations that includes such notorious human rights violators as China, Cuba, Libya and Saudi Arabia, meets in Geneva on Friday, its attentions will be focused on the human rights failings of a country called the United States.

- This report would be laughable were it not so serious. We are clearly living in a day when men are calling good evil, and evil good. Pray that these allegations would go down in flatmes, and that truth instead would prevail. We still live in the greatest nation on earth!

- For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish. (Psalm 1:6)

3. Fannie, Freddie Overhaul Could Cost $685 Billion - Wall Street Journal

The total cost to rescue and then overhaul mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could reach $685 billion, according to estimates published Thursday by Standard & Poor's.

- Here we go again! Pray that those in authority would use better wisdom in managing these two agencies. This is outlandish!

- A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who speaks lies will not escape. (Proverbs 19:5)

4. Privacy advocates fear massive fed health database - Computer World

Several privacy groups have raised alarms over plans by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to build a database that would contain information about the healthcare claims of millions of Americans.

- We pray that the voices of these groups would be heard, and that actions be taken to ensure the privacy rights of all American citizens when it comes to their relationship with their own physicians.

- The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge (Prov.18:15)

5. U.S.dollar printing is huge risk - China central bank adviser - Reuters

Unbridled printing of dollars is the biggest risk to the global economy, an adviser to the Chinese central bank said in comments published on Thursday, a day after the Federal Reserve unveiled a new round of monetary easing.

6. ALL 68 Aboard Killed in Cuban Plane Crash - AOL News

Cuban authorities say there are no survivors after a state airliner carrying 40 Cubans and 28 foreigners crashed in a fireball on the island's central mountains.

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

3. Palestinians to give US peace effort more time - Ynet News

The Palestinians will give the United States several more weeks to try to relaunch direct peace talks with Israel, but will not buckle on their key demand for a halt to Israeli settlement activity, a top Palestinian official said on Thursday.

4. Saudi prince rules out engagement with Israel until Arab land is returned - Washington Post

Saudi Arabia will refuse to "directly or indirectly engage Israel" until it leaves all land captured during the 1967 Six-Day War, a leading member of the Saudi royal family said Thursday, dashing any hopes the Obama administration might have had for rapprochement before a final peace deal.

- Destroy O Lord, and divide those tongues, For I have seen violence and strife in the city. (Ps. 55:9)

6. Yemen bomb disarmed just 17 min. before exploding - Jerusalem Post

One of two mail bombs sent from Yemen last week was disarmed just 17 minutes before it was set to go off, the French interior minister said Thursday.

You will reduce the noise of the aliens, As heat in a dry place; As heat in the shadow of a cloud, The song of the terrible ones will be diminished. ( Is. 25:5)

The Election in Focus

"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. . . He deposes kings and raises up others. . . " (Daniel 2:20,21)

1. Democrats United In Blaming White House For Electoral Losses - Politico

"The bodies aren't even cold yet in the House, but the Democratic Party has already opened up a bitter debate over who's to blame." One thing "all sides agree on: The White House blew it." Politico notes comments by outgoing Sen. Evan Bayh, who said "it is clear that Democrats over-interpreted our mandate," and "called the decision to focus on health care in a bad economy 'overreach.'"

- Pray that, in the midst of the fingerpointing and the "blame game," the Democratic leadership will stop to hear and to truly take the pulse of our people. When any poltical party loses an election, there are always lessons to be learned.

- "He hath shown thee, O man, what is good; and what the LORD doth require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" (Micah 6:8)

2. GOP Vows To Pursue Small Government Agenda - The Washington Post

GOP leaders "vowed Wednesday to pursue their plans to downsize the federal government and said voters had vindicated their efforts to block President Obama's agenda." Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said, "We're determined to stop the agenda Americans have rejected and to turn the ship around." Rep. John Boehner said, "It's pretty clear that the American people want a smaller, less costly and more accountable government here in Washington, D.C."

a. Senate Dems warn GOP not to block legislation - The Hill

The top three Senate Democrats said the onus was on the newly strengthened GOP conference to cooperate on legislation next year.

- As the Republicans seem to be getting the message that the voters have sent to Washington, pray that they will find the wisdom to know how to implement the changes that must come, with minimal damage and for the good of all.

- "Hate evil, love good; Establish justice in the gate. It may be that the Lord God of hosts, Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph." (Amos 5:15)

3. Religion in the 2010 Elections: A preliminary look - Alliance Defense Fund

Pew Forum: "Catholic voters, who had favored Democratic over Republican candidates by double-digit margins in the last two congressional elections, swung to the GOP in 2010. And within all three of these major religious groups, support for the Republican Party rose this year compared with 2006, matching or exceeding their levels of support for the GOP in any recent election. Republican gains among religious groups parallel the party's broad-based gains among the overall electorate and white voters in particular."

- "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause to walk in my statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." (Ex. 36 v 26, 27)
4. Nancy Pelosi to Run for Minority Leader - Fox News

Outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi announces she will run for minority leader after resurgent Republicans win control of the House in Tuesday's midterm elections.

- This had to have been a tough week for the former Speaker of the House. In this time of transition, cry out to the LORD for the soul of Nancy Pelosi, for her voting record does not reflect one who walks according to the Word of God. May this be the time, in her brokenness, that she will truly seek the heart of the Lord for comfort . . . and for salvation.

- "1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." (I Timothy 2:1-4)

P.M.Netanyahu Heads to D.C.

Talks Scheduled for November 7 and 8

Prime Minister Netanyahu is going to the United States in the coming week. He is supposed to meet with Secretary of State Clinton and VP Biden while he is there concerning the peace effort. The chief Palestinian negotiator has given the US two weeks to restart negotiations before they back out entirely. Netanyahu will be under immense pressure to bow to demands by the PA and the US. We must lift up the hands of the Prime Minister as he is away.

o Let him be a man of vision and courage in the face of strong opposition
o Help him to be articulate and be decisive in his words so that the message You give him will resonate with the American people.
o Place on him a fresh anointing for clear, strong communication.
o Strengthen him in body and spirit.
o Give Netanyahu discerning eyes and a discerning heart to see the traps that are being laid for him.
o Give him appointments that he was not expecting that would encourage him to stand firm on what You have declared in Your Word.
o Give him a clarity of purpose and drive from him all doubt.
o Divide and confuse the plans of those who would pressure him to do something against Your Word.
o Protect this nation as he is away.

Our Elections and Israel

Election Results May Impact US-Israel Ties

Though Obama still has two years left on his term as occupier of the White House, his Democrat party suffered a political tidal wave in Tuesday's [November 2] election for the two bodies in the American Congress, losing control of the House and watching their edge in the Senate shrink noticeably.

According to USA Today, the opposition Republican party is expected to gain at least 60 seats in the House when all the votes are counted, the largest turnover since 1948-the year the modern state of Israel was founded. As for Israel, while Congress is typically thought of as having less power in foreign policy than the presidential office, retired Israeli ambassador Yoram Ettinger believes the turnover actually has the ability to impact the US-Israel relationship.

Ettinger-who was minister for Congressional Affairs at Israel's Embassy in Washington and is currently the CEO of Second Thought, an US-Israeli initiative that researches national security aspects of Judea and Samaria [the West Bank]-said Israel needs to recognize and act on the power wielded by Congress. As some of his examples, Ettinger pointed to Congressional power over budgets, including foreign aid and military funds, and their role as the sole creator of legislation, although Obama can veto legislation he finds disagreeable.

"Therefore Congress has the power to direct [the occupier] towards a policy," said Ettinger, highlighting their power over budgets, potentially a significant limit on the president, since its very difficult to pursue a policy without funding. Ettinger also listed other Congressional powers that impact foreign policy.

Due to political polarization between the Democrat-controlled Senate and the Republican-controlled House, it remains to be seen how much pressure the Congress will be able to exert on Obama outside of budgetary matters. However, Ettinger noted that the American election also shows the American voters to be center and center-right, which he said is "very pro-Israel." Ettinger further said many of the new House members embrace values friendly to Israel-including religion, patriotism and opposition to terrorism-while considering "the Jewish state to be a natural ally of the US."

AIPAC, a pro-Israel lobby group, congratulated all the incoming members of Congress and pointed to members friendly to the US-Israel relationship from both parties. In a press statement, AIPAC noted that support of the US-Israel relationship is an "overwhelmingly bipartisan" issue in Congress. "It is abundantly clear that the 112th Congress will continue America's long tradition of staunch support for a strong, safe and secure Israel and an abiding friendship between the United States and our most reliable ally in the Middle East."

Following the electoral defeats of Obama's Democrat party, Ettinger, a strong critic of Obama's policies towards Israel, believes a weaker president is a good thing for Israel in this case. He just hopes Israel takes advantage of the situation, pointing to past Israeli governments that turned to Congress for support. "The results of the election provide Israel a huge potential. The big question is, 'Are we going to utilize, to leverage that potential, or are we going to give it away?'"

(By Joshua Spurlock, BFP Israel Mosaic Radio, November 3, 2010)

Prayer Focus
Pray that the changes on the US political scene due to the recent elections will, in fact, strengthen the US-Israel relationship. Pray that Israeli leaders will know how to leverage this potential to the benefit of a strong and secure Israel.

Scripture
"It is a joy for the just to do justice, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity." (Proverbs 21:15)

The Daily Jot

Over 40% of House Democrats are self-avowed Socialists

Part of the socialist strategy is to destroy the working middle class and make two classes--the very wealthy and the very poor. The very wealthy then can be controlled by the socialist government because the wealthy do not want to lose what they have. The very poor can be controlled by the socialist government because they have no means. All the while, the propaganda of socialism is to convince the very poor and the middle class it is destroying that the socialist government is working on behalf of the "little guy." This is what has happened in the United States since the socialists have taken power not only of Congress, but also the White House.

As it stands today, 76 of the 186 Democrats in the post-election US House of Representatives are members of the House Progressive Caucus. In other words, 41% of the Democrats that hold a seat in the House of Representatives are proclaimed socialists. Of these, 90% are also members of the Socialist Party USA, according to that party's membership roles. The elections rooted out only four members of the Progressive Caucus. The Progressive Caucus and the Socialist Party USA hold the largest single voting block of Democrats in the House. This group has become even more powerful after the recent election because they represent a larger share of the Democratic Party.

The Socialist Party USA website states its ideals in terms of class warfare saying "The working class is in a key and central position to fight back against the ruling capitalist class and its power." The Socialist Party USA website says, "The Socialist Party strives to establish a radical democracy that places people's lives under their own control - a non-racist, classless, feminist socialist society where working people own and control the means of production and distribution through democratically-controlled public agencies; where full employment is realized for everyone who wants to work and where the production of society is used for the benefit of all humanity, not for the private profit of a few."

It goes on to say, "We believe socialism and democracy are one and indivisible." When this huge block of the Democratic Party says it fights for democracy, the democracy it is fighting for is not the same as true Americans. And when you hear them profess Jesus, they are not speaking about the same Jesus Christ who died for your sins and offers the gift of salvation. 2 John 9 says, "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God." Verse 10 says, "If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed." Please understand that reclaiming America for Christ does not end with this past election. It only begins again.

Dai Sup Han, founder of PrayerSurgeNow, has invited me to join with Mark Williamson on a nationwide call tomorrow morning (Saturday), beginning at 7:30 a.m. EDT.

Mark is the Founder of Federal Intercessors (www.federalintercessors.net) and together, we will lead in post-election briefings and prayer for the issues now at hand, and on behalf of the new Congress that is coming in next year.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MARK AND I WILL BEGIN OUR SEGMENT AT 9:15 a.m., lasting for about one hour.

Please find below the invitation from Dai Sup to join on this call. Thank you, Dai Sup and PrayerSurgeNow!

Tuesday was very significant day in our nation's history as millions of Americans with biblical values voiced their choices for leaders & propositions. Let us praise God for His great work among His people! Nevertheless, as you may agree, I believe that our lives & what we choose TODAY are of greater importance in the heart of OUR FATHER.

Are we willing to join God's side TODAY or will we return to the path of trying to get God to join our side? Upon entering the Promised Land, Joshua fully submitted to the Commander of the Army of the LORD and led his nation to a great victory (Joshua 5:13-6:27). During the most dark & challenging times our history, both General George Washington & President Abraham Lincoln were inspired by Joshua and chose to join the LORD rather than lead in their own strength or intellect.

TODAY, God is also requiring that we read, pray & apply Psalm 33:12-22. God must be the LORD if we are to secure His mercy, salvation & destiny for America. TODAY, we must make 1 Timothy 2:1-8 a core value of our hearts. TODAY, we must pray: (1) With pure hearts so that we may see & agree with the ONE who interceding at the Right Hand of the Father; (2) Without bitterness & hatred so not to grieve the Holy Spirit of God; and (3) Full of faith & confidence as we remain at the Throne of God.

If this is your heart's desire, please join us this Saturday morning, 11/6 as we "Partner with Christ for Revival in the Middle East & America." Sara Ballenger and Mark Williamson will join us, as together we JOIN GOD'S SIDE in praising Him for victories & approaching His Mercy Seat on behalf of the Bride in great need of "grain and new wine and oil" (Joel 2).

White Evangelicals Turn Out Big, Vote Republican

Self-identified white evangelical Christians were the largest bloc of voters in the midterm elections, totaling nearly 30 percent of those who went to the polls Tuesday. Once there, they voted almost as a bloc, casting 78 percent of their ballots for Republicans, according to a post-election survey that Public Opinion Strategies conducted for Ralph Reed's Faith and Freedom Coalition.

That turnout among conservative people of faith was a 5 percent increase in evangelical turnout over 2006 and was the largest ever recorded in a midterm election, the coalition said.

"People of faith turned out in the highest numbers in a midterm election we have ever seen," said Reed, founder and chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition. "And they made an invaluable contribution to the historic results, including the election of a Republican majority in the House and significant gains in U.S. Senate seats, governorships, and hundreds of state legislative seats and local offices. This survey, along with numerous exit polls, makes clear that those who ignore or disregard social conservative voters and their issues do so at their own peril." (Newsmax)
