WELCOME, EVERYONE!

Focus on Israel

1. Netanyahu: If I'm re-elected, I'll extend sovereignty to West Bank settlements - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Saturday to extend Israeli sovereignty to the settlements of the West Bank if he is re-elected in Tuesday's elections. Flatly ruling out Palestinian statehood, which he said would "endanger our existence," Netanyahu promised to permanently maintain overall Israeli security control in the West Bank and to formalize Israeli rule over the 400,000-plus Israeli Jews in the settlements. This would apply not only to major settlement blocs, but also to isolated settlements, he indicated.

Asked in a Channel 12 interview why he hadn't already extended Israeli law to the settlements or annexed them, he initially replied, "Who says we won't do that? We're on the way. The next term will be fateful."

2. Turkey slams Netanyahu's 'irresponsible' settlement annexation remarks - Times of Israel

ISTANBUL, Turkey - Turkey on Sunday condemned what it called Benjamin Netanyahu's "irresponsible" remarks after the prime minister said he planned to annex settlements in the West Bank if he wins upcoming elections.

"West Bank is Palestinian territory occupied by Israel in violation of int'l law," Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Twitter.

"Prime Minister Netanyahu's irresponsible statement to seek votes just before the Israeli general elections cannot and will not change this fact."

3. Netanyahu Gets a Timely Campaign Gift from Putin - Bloomberg

Vladimir Putin is considered by many Western leaders to be a toxic and dangerous figure. But in Israel, courting Putin has served Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu well; it may even help his re-election next week.

Netanyahu flew to Moscow Thursday, five days before the election, and was beaming as Putin dropped a bombshell at a joint press conference. Putin revealed that it was Russian soldiers in Syria who had discovered the remains of Staff Sargent Zachary Baumel, which were returned home on an El Al flight. Baumel had been listed as missing in action since the first Israel's first war in Lebanon, in 1982.

The return of Baumel's body has riveted the public. The armed forces are composed mostly of young conscripts, and the Israeli Defense Forces have made an almost sacred principle of leaving no one's son or daughter on the battlefield. The failure to find and return the bodies of Baumel and two other soldiers who fell in the same battle, was a blow to that ethos. But after 37 years, most people considered it a lost cause. On Wednesday, surprised and astonished, the country rejoiced.

4. In Final Election Stretch, Netanyahu Strikes Pessimistic Tone: 'We're Going to Lose' - Algemeiner

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continued what local media referred to as a "gevalt campaign" on Sunday, as the last 48 hours before Tuesday's elections wound down, cautioning his supporters that they must turn out to vote or his Likud party will be defeated. "If we don't change the trend - we're going to lose," he warned, striking a pessimistic tone apparently intended to give his voters a sense of motivation and urgency. Recent polls have shown Netanyahu's Likud party trailing its main challenger, the new Blue and White party. However, the right-religious bloc in the Knesset that will most likely recommend Netanyahu to form the next government remains larger than the center-left opposition.

According to Hebrew news site Mako, Netanyahu addressed this issue directly at a meeting of leaders of local authorities who support Likud on Sunday, warning, "President Rivlin said a simple thing: without 61 recommendations, the largest party wins and forms the government."

"You must act immediately so that people will vote Likud," he urged the audience.

5. 2,000-year-old menorah discovered near Beersheba - Israel Hayom

The remains of an oil lamp depicting the Jewish lampstand used to symbolize the "eternal light," the menorah, estimated to date back 2,000 years, was discovered at an archaeological excavation site in Israel's Negev Desert, the Israel Antiquities Authority announced on Thursday.

"This is probably one of the earliest artistic depictions of a nine-branched menorah yet discovered," the IAA archaeologist Dr. Daniel Varga said.

The IAA said it was the first evidence discovered of a 2,000-year-old Jewish settlement, as the site appears to contain underground hidden passageways used by Jewish rebels around the first century C.E., leading up to the Bar-Kokhba Revolt in 135 C.E.

8. Stop Iran from Going Nuclear - Bridges for Peace

Advocates of Iran's nuclear deal are conspicuously ignoring the Iranian government's nuclear activities, even though they jeopardize global security as much as Israel's security. Advocates of Iran are also rushing to criticize the Trump administration in the United States for tightening its sanctions in response to Iran's illegal defiance. (Read more)

- Pray that the Lord will remove the scales from the eyes of the international community and open their eyes to see the truth of the Islamic Republic's evil intentions toward Israel and the Western world. Intercede for the international community, that they will wake up to what Iran is doing and put their efforts to a stop.

- "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me," says the LORD. (Isaiah 54:17)

The Daily Brief

1. Nielsen leaving DHS after White House meeting with Trump - FoxNews

President Trump announced Sunday afternoon that Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen "will be leaving her position" after 16 months in the job. Trump also announced that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Kevin McAleenan will replace Nielsen as acting secretary, tweeting: "I have confidence that Kevin will do a great job!"

Nielsen met with Trump at the White House Sunday amid an ongoing influx of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border that has been taxing America's immigration system and sparking frustration within the administration. The Associated Press, citing two sources, reported Sunday that Nielsen had been frustrated with the difficulty of getting other departments to help deal with the growing number of families crossing the southwestern border.

Trump nominated McAleenan as CBP commissioner on the first day of his presidency, but McAleenan was not confirmed by the Senate until March of 2018. He was previously appointed CBP deputy commissioner in November 2014 by President Barack Obama. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for Ms. Nielsen's service rendered to our nation as teh Secretary of Homeland Security in this very challenging time in our nation's history. We now pray, too, for Kevin McAleenan as he moves into this new, critical role in the Trump administration, amen.

- " . . . pray for those in authority . . ." (I Timothy 2:1)

2. Huge Victory: Pro-Life Judge Upsets Planned Parenthood-Backed Feminist for Wisconsin Supreme Court Seat - BCN

Conservatives in Wisconsin beat the odds Tuesday as Judge Brian Hagedorn narrowly defeated left-wing Judge Lisa Neubauer for a vacant seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, giving conservatives a majority. Both jurists are currently appeals court judges. Hagedorn beat Neubauer for outgoing liberal Justice Shirley Abrahamson's seat by just 5,962 votes, or roughly half a percent, Wisconsin Public Radio reports.

"We made history in a significant way and our margin of victory looks to be insurmountable," Hagedorn said, declaring victory. "For me, this is a win not just for me, but a win for the state of Wisconsin. I ran this race saying my commitment is to the rule of law. The job of the judge is to say what the law is and not what I think the law should be. I think that won last night." Neubauer has not yet conceded, and is instead raising money to pay for a potential recount.

Hagedorn, a former assistant attorney general and chief counsel to former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, was attacked during the campaign for past writings in which he forcefully denounced both abortion and pro-LGBT judicial activism. "The Lord has laid three fundamental passions on my heart: 1) Protecting the dignity and sanctity of human life, 2) Defending and preserving the institution of marriage, and 3) Promoting racial reconciliation in the Church and culture," he wrote in 2005. (Read more)

- Almighty God, bless the inner chamber of all Your servants who are working for You at the place where God's truth and grace is revealed to them. Let them be guided by faith and blessings with which they are to bless Wisconsin. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." (I Peter 4:10)

3. Firms Tied To Fusion GPS, Christopher Steele Were Paid $3.8 Million By Soros-Backed Group - Daily Caller

A nonprofit group partially funded by billionaire activist George Soros paid firms tied to Fusion GPS and dossier author Christopher Steele more than $3.8 million in 2017 to provide research and analysis to "government entities," according to IRS filings.

Daniel J. Jones, a former staffer to California Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein, founded TDIP on Jan. 31, 2017, seemingly to resume Democrats' investigation of Trump's possible links to Russia. Jones operated what he called a "shadow media organization helping the government" to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Jones has also taken credit for planting anti-Trump news stories.

On Jan. 29, 2018, Jones registered Advance Democracy Inc. That group received a $500,000 contribution last year from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, a donor-advised fund that masks its contributors. Jones founded Advance Democracy four days after Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, the former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released a letter seeking information from associates of Fusion GPS and Steele. (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we pray that all the evil works of the Soros paid firms tied to Fusion GPS, Christopher Steele, Advance Democracy Inc., TDIP, Daniel Jones, and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation be brought down in utter defeat by the mighty hand of God. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever. Amen." (Revelation 7:12)

4. DOJ Hits Back At New York Times And Washington Post Stories On Mueller Report - Daily Caller

The Justice Department explained why it did not release summaries included in special counsel Robert Mueller's report after reports surfaced that his investigators felt Attorney General Bill Barr mischaracterized their findings.

The DOJ statement comes after The New York Times and The Washington Post reported that associates of some investigators on Mueller's team are troubled by Barr's declaration that they found that President Donald Trump did not obstruct justice during the course of the Russia investigation.

DOJ pushed back against the notion of selective release, saying, "As the Attorney General stated in his March 29 letter to Chairman Graham and Chairman Nadler, he does not believe the report should be released in 'serial or piecemeal fashion.' The Department continues to work with the Special Counsel on appropriate redactions to the report so that it can be released to Congress and the public." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that President Trump be absolved, totally free and cleared from all blame or guilt of obstructing justice, which was the lies of insidious treachery by those in the Democratic Party. We believe God to intervene and close the mouths of the lions of hatred and wickedness and kill this rhetoric forever. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "Seek good, and not evil, that you may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you as you have spoken." (Amos 5:14)

5. Trump lawyer urges Treasury against releasing president's tax returns until DOJ gives opinion - The Hill

An outside lawyer for President Trump argued Friday that Democrats can't legally request Trump's tax returns and said that the IRS shouldn't provide the information to Congress until it receives an opinion for the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel.

"Caution and deliberation are essential to ensure that the Treasury Department does not erode the constitutional separation of powers or the Tax Code's 'core purpose of protecting taxpayer privacy,' - protections that safeguard not just the President, but all Americans," William Consovoy, a lawyer at Consovoy McCarthy Park in Arlington, Va., said in a letter to the Treasury Department's general counsel.

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) on Wednesday sent a letter to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig requesting six years worth of Trump's personal and business tax returns. Consovoy argued that if the IRS provided Neal with the documents he requested, it would set a troublesome precedent of allowing politicians to use tax returns to attack their opponents. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we ask that the powerful Blood of Jesus protect President Trumps tax returns by not disclosing them to the Democrats or to anyone else. Put a cord upon their hands and minds to prevent the treachery of the Democrats. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "It is God that avenges me, and subdues the people under me." (Psalm 18:47)

6. 'Dozens' of Whistle-Blowers Are Secretly Cooperating With House Democrats - The Atlantic

Tricia Newbold set an important mark when she became the first official currently serving in Donald Trump's White House to take accusations of wrongdoing to Congress-and to put her name publicly behind them. Democrats on Capitol Hill say that beyond Newbold, a small army of whistle-blowers from across the government has been working in secret with the House Oversight Committee to report alleged malfeasance inside the Trump administration.

The Oversight Committee disclosed this week that she agreed to come forward publicly to report that senior officials had granted security clearances to 25 people after they were initially denied. Republicans on the committee have accused Cummings of running a "partisan" probe of the security-clearance process, and of cherry-picking from Newbold's closed-door testimony, which they said was scheduled at the last minute so Republicans wouldn't have much time to prepare.

The number of Trump-administration whistle-blowers has already grown now that Democrats are in power and have signaled that they will conduct aggressive oversight of the Trump administration. The committee was receiving about three or four tips a week before the November midterm elections; that has increased to an average of five-and as many as 15-a week in the months since, according to a second committee aide who provided the data on the condition of anonymity. (Read more)

- Almighty God, deception in any people is like a poison that secretes throughout a group and poisons the whole. So we pray to our God to expose the dozens of whistle-blowers who are secretly cooperating with House Democrats, and Newbold, also the 25 people who were granted security clearances, and Cummings. May there be a clean sweep to strip all of them from having this inside power and be sealed off from having any information that would be detrimental to President Trump. Protect him by the power of the Blood of Jesus, so none can do him any harm. We pray this in the Name of Jesus.

- "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him." (2 Chronicles 16:9)

7. More Than 30,000 People to Be Removed From Medicaid Rolls After Eligibility Check - FreeBeacon

More than 30,000 people will be removed from Louisiana's Medicaid program after a new verification system determined they likely made too much money to be eligible.

In February, the Department of Health sent out 40,007 letters warning recipients that they could lose access to the taxpayer-funded health insurance program unless they could demonstrate that they still are eligible. As of Monday, 30,500 of those cases had been closed, said Robert Johannessen, communications director for LDH. This was not the first time program officials have used wage data from the Louisiana Workforce Commission to check eligibility, Johannessen noted. Income checks previously were done at application and renewal, so that the 40,007 people would have been notified over a 12-month period. (Read more)

- Father, we pray President Trump and his administration will institute ways to evaluate and requalify people receiving entitlement benefits, bringing much needed accountability and solvency to these programs.

- "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5)

8. On-the-spot DNA tests could be key to ICE verifying 'immigrant families' at border - Washington Examiner

The U.S. government has adopted a DNA testing system that would allow border officials to assess within two hours whether immigrants claiming to be in the same family are telling the truth.

Last June, the FBI approved the use of ANDE, an automated system which was developed with the military and can be operated by a nonscientist to process cheek swabs and other DNA. It is now under consideration by the Department of Homeland Security and could be used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Part of the issue for federal law enforcement is not being able to verify familial relationship other than by paper documents. ANDE DNA processing company says it can verify those relationships within two hours, compared to the weeks it usually takes local police or federal law enforcement to get results from labs. DHS has made no announcement about using ANDE on the southern border or by immigration officers processing visa and green card applications. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that DHS will immediately employ ANDE to be used by immigration and Customs Enforcement to verify familial relationships on the southern border and by immigration officers processing visa and green card applications. We ask in the Name of Jesus.

- "He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination." (Proverbs 28:9)

9.Third judge blocks Trump administration from adding citizenship question to census - Washington Examiner

In a 119-page ruling, U.S. District Judge George Hazel of the U.S. District Court in Maryland found the decision to add the citizenship question to the upcoming census violated the Administrative Procedure Act and the Constitution's Enumeration Clause. Hazel said that an undercount of Hispanics and noncitizens "of any magnitude" will lead to vote dilution and a malapportionment of congressional districts. It will also cause communities to lose federal funding, he said. In January, a federal judge in New York said the decision to add the question to the census questionnaire was illegal and barred the administration from proceeding with its plan to do so. Then, in March, a federal judge in California ruled the efforts violated federal law and the Constitution.

The Supreme Court agreed in February it would take up a case challenging the Trump administration's addition of the citizenship question and will hear arguments April 24. The cases have not yet been heard by federal appeals courts, but the Justice Department urged the high court to step in due to time constraints for painting the questionnaires.(Read more)

- Father in heaven, we pray that no judge or Supreme Court vote against the wisdom that God has given President Trump to guide this nation with good judgment. We trust the Lord to overturn previous rulings that opposes adding citizenship questions to the census. We ask in the Name of Jesus.

- "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn." (Proverbs 29:2)

10. Mike Pence: 'Turkey must choose' between NATO and Russia - Washington Examiner

"Turkey must choose: Does it want to remain a critical partner of the most successful military alliance in the history of the world?" Pence said at NATO Engages, an event hosted on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington. "Or, does it want to risk the security of that partnership by making reckless decisions that undermine that alliance?"

Pence's rebuke raised the stakes of Turkey's insistence over buying Russian S-400s to deploy alongside NATO's most advanced stealth fighter jet. Pence reiterated that the United States would not deliver the F-35 warplanes to Turkey if ErdoÄŸan sticks with the S-400s, just hours after the top Turkish diplomat demanded the planes while downplaying the value of Trump's offer to sell alternative U.S.-made air defense systems.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed optimism President Trump would authorize the delivery of the jets, saying he had heard "contradicting statements" from different parts of the U.S. government. Pence replied with an unambiguous endorsement of the Pentagon's decision this week to halt delivery of any equipment related to the F-35. "The Pentagon made clear earlier this week and I repeat today: If Turkey completes its purchase of the Russian S-400 missile system, Turkey risks expulsion from the joint F-35 program" Pence said. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we trust You will protect America, President Trump, VP Pence from altering their sound decisions regarding the F-35s being sold to Russia. Expose Turkey and Russia's deceptive words, that sound like sounding brass to Trump's ears. Give him great discernment from God Himself. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "The Name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous run into it and is safe." (Proverbs 19:10)

11. Russia is hiding Putin's location, sending ships off course, with GPS spoofing technology, report says - FoxNews

The Russian Federation used electronic warfare equipment almost 10,000 times to create false GPS signals that sent ships off-grid and hid the location of President Vladimir Putin, according to a new report from the Center for Advanced Defense (C4ADS).

The think tank's study outlined almost 10,000 instances in which Russian GPS spoofing technology manipulated satellite-based navigation systems on ships, at airports and in other locations outside of the country's controlled territories.

The Russian Federation is "growing a comparative advantage in the targeted use and development of GNSS spoofing capabilities to achieve tactical and strategic objectives at home and abroad," the report stated, causing many to question the possible impacts this electronic warfare could have if used on a more widespread basis around the world. (Read more)

- Almighty God, keep America safe from the power of this electronic warfare used by Russia in 10,000 instances. We call the angels from heaven to cover the United States with their divine power and give any other allied nation that has been affected by the Russians creating false GPS signals protection also. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "The Lord is righteous: He has cut asunder the cords of the wicked." (Psalm 129:4)

Taking a break

With all the bad news in the headlines and on TV, you are bombarded every day with negativity. If you watch much TV, you are also barraged with drug commercials and what would have been considered in the 1950s as pornography. It's a good guess that not many people in this country like the direction in which it's headed. The liberals hate anything and anyone who disagrees with them. Conservatives just want to see the country back on a reasonable economic, ethical and moral track. Atheists and nihilists are combative about what others believe. Many Christians just roll up into their own little reality of waiting for things to happen rather than taking action. It's a confusing and perilous time we live in. Sometimes it's too much.

Life comes at us fast these days. Just a few days ago, it was Monday. Now Friday is here. Seems like yesterday. Cars move fast. People move fast. There are fast talkers. Just to listen to them can wear a body out. Do you ever feel like you need to take a break? Maybe you do. Maybe it is a good time to take a break. I don't mean checking out of life. But finding some time each day in your schedule to clear your mind, focus on your mental and spiritual health. For my wife, she takes a break by studying the Bible. I can walk by her while she is doing her morning devotional and she doesn't know I'm in the room. She begins her day with the Lord and that energizes her.

I begin the day writing The Daily Jot, which requires me to search the news, listen to the Holy Spirit, and also study God's word. It gets me going. But by the end of the work day, around 4:00 pm (as I start around 6:00 am), it is time to take a break. I'm fortunate enough to have a hot tub, so I get in the hot tub, turn on the Western Channel and let my mind wind down. There is always a moral lesson with the old westerns-the good guy wins out, the bad guy gets his, men act like men, and women behave like women. There is a lot to learn. There is a lot of reinforcement of what I already know. But there are times when I don't even look at the screen. My wife says she wonders what I am thinking because I appear far away.
There is a lot of praising the Lord for my life, my family, my church family, my work. There is a lot of thinking through some of the issues we all face on a daily basis. It is my way of recharging, because most of the time I go back to work after 5:00 pm. We would be healthier if we just worked a break into our daily schedules--Some time with the Lord or even just with your own private thoughts. Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:13-15, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them; And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." Take a break. Ponder what you have learned. Be assured in Christ.
Have a blessed and powerful day,

Bill Wilson

I work out of my home, so I have an advantage: every so often during the day, I just STOP and retreat to my faithful recliner . . . and close my eyes. Sigh . . .

Sometimes I will set my alarm to go off in a few minutes, and sometimes not. But no matter: these small "power naps" throughout the day really help me keep going. (I am now 72 years old!)

Thank you, Bill Wilson! Amen!

Next time you sit back, relax, and regroup, why not gohere, and listen to "Day by Day", sung by a Mennonite choir? Another amen!

Fort Peck Dam

Fort Peck Dam In Montana:

Worst Disaster Than 9/11 Waiting To Happen

Is the Missouri River, the longest in the United States at 2,321 miles long, about to suffer a chain reaction failure beginning at the monolithic Fort Peck Dam in Montana, which itself is 21,026 feet long, 250 feet tall, and the largest earth-filled dam in the world?

The massive reservoir behind the world's largest earth dam, Fort Peck Lake, is 134 miles long with 1,520 miles of shoreline, and reportedly holds enough water to equal the totality of the annual river run off - or one full year's worth of the Missouri River's flow.

It holds enough water, enough to cover all of Yellowstone National Park with 6 feet of water.

The Fort Peck Dam is built with a flawed design that has suffered a well-known fate for this type of dam - liquefaction - in which saturated soil loses its stability. Hydraulic-fill dams are prone to almost instant collapse from stress or earthquakes. California required all hydraulic-fill dams be torn out or rebuilt - and no other large dams have been built this way since.

Dr. Shanks is a former land and wildlife advisor to the Governors of California and Arizona and has been studying the dams on the Missouri River for more than four decades. He said the problem starts with how the Fort Peck Dam was built.
. . . There is a possibility a failure of Fort Peck Dam could lead to a domino-like collapse of all five downstream dams. It probably would wreck every bridge, highway, pipeline and power line and split the heartland of the nation, leaving a gap 1,500 miles wide. Countless sewage treatment plants, toxic waste sites and even Superfund sites would be flushed downstream. The death toll and blow to our economy would be ghastly.
Nuclear reactors are located near bodies of water, introducing unique flood-related risks.

Water can quickly turn dangerous when floods occur. Flooding can damage equipment or knock out the plant's electrical systems, disabling its cooling mechanisms.

Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) is a boiling water reactor (BWR) type nuclear power plant located on a 1,251-acre (506 ha) site near Brownville, Nebraska between Missouri River mile markers 532.9 and 532.5, on Nebraska's border with Missouri. It is the largest single-unit electrical generator in Nebraska.

The Fort Calhoun Nuclear Generating Station is a shut down nuclear power plant located on 660 acres (2.7 km2) between Fort Calhoun, and Blair, Nebraska adjacent to the Missouri River.

If The Dam Failed

"It would make the damage from 9/11 look like a drive-by shooting," Shanks said.

Shanks based his doomsday scenario on the fact that Fort Peck Dam is North America's largest hydraulic-fill earthen dam. Such dams are prone to "liquefaction," meaning they can become water-logged and disintegrate if exposed to extreme pressure or seismic activity. For that reason, California replaced most of that state's hydraulic-fill dams. (Mary Greeley) Read MUCH MORE here.

- Father, we stand in repentance for the sin in our land, and we ask that, by Your hand, Fort Peck Dam will not collapse. We call forth the restoration of the farmland, livestock, lives and property of those who have been impacted by these floods, as we appeal to the mercy heart of God to do so. Amen.
- " . . . if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)

The Battle of Lockett's Farm

The Briefing:

The Battle of Lockett's Farm

Published by Lou Engle

History records that 154 years ago, on April 6th, some of the last shots of the Civil War were fired at Lockett's Farm near Sailor's Creek in Virginia. By the end of the bloody skirmish, the Union forces had captured 7,700 troops, totaling one-fourth of the Confederate army. Among the prisoners were six generals, including Curtis Lee, the commander's own son. Three days later, on April 9, 1865, Lee surrendered.

Typically, the expression "history repeats itself" comes with negative connotations. However, recent prophetic insight into the Battle of Lockett's Farm, has caused us to pray, "God, do it again!"

Our friend Matt Lockett, Executive Director of the Justice House of Prayer DC and Bound4LIFE International, had been engaged in prayer activism for the ending of abortion long before he discovered his name in the history books. Then, even after getting acquainted with the Battle of Lockett's Farm, more time passed before genealogical research revealed that Matt was a direct descendant of the Locketts at Sailor's Creek. As you can imagine, this revelation provoked quite a sense of awe and wonder.

The throbbing question emerged among us, "What would it mean today if Matt's history was also prophecy? What if the bloodshed of abortion was to end at Matt Lockett's 'farm' just like the bloodshed of slavery and the Civil War finally ended in his ancestor's front yard?"

By the fall of 2009, Bound4Life had mobilized five years of focused prayer at the Supreme Court and abortion clinics across the US. At that time, Matt Lockett called a 21-day fast for a breakthrough in response to the abortion super center that was being erected in Houston. Towards the end of the 21 days, we received news that a Planned Parenthood director named Abby Johnson had a sudden conversion and resigned from her clinic outside of Houston. Abby's story is now told in the full-length feature film Unplanned that was released last week in theaters nationwide.

Though every major TV network except for Fox News refused to run commercials advertising the film, word is getting out. Unplanned was fourth in the box offices last weekend. Many pro-choice viewers who expected to be unaffected by the movie were surprised by its impact. One moviegoer commented on Variety magazine's online review, stating, "My best talking points dissolved in light of this portrayal. I cannot ever again claim to be pro-woman and stand in favor of abortion. I'm out."

. . . Seldom has America's public found itself in such a vice grip of truth about abortion as has been presented through the Unplanned movie. Let's not miss this pregnant moment! Pray with us for this film to run swiftly and magnify the message of life and love that God wishes to bring to this generation. Pray for walls of deception and delusion in the hearts of men and women to crumble. Pray for yourself, and for messengers and intercessors like Bill, Neville and Abby Johnson, to rise to the full stature of kingdom authority for such a time as this.
What will history write about today? Let's not leave it to chance. Would you join your faith with thousands in a unified battlecry of intercession? Who knows, but this could be the very death knell of abortion and the battle that finally ends the war.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 19:14)

- Father, we praise You for the impact that UNPLANNED is making across our land today, and we cry out that this movement shall not abate, but will grow stronger and stronger until Roe v. Wade is relegated to the dustbin of history. Yes, we pray: "God, do it again!"

- " . . . he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Phil. 1:6)

Classic Hymn: WE HAVE AN ANCHOR

Classic Hymns

WE HAVE AN ANCHOR

"An anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19)

Lyrics

Will your anchor hold in the storms of life, When the clouds unfold their wings of strife? When the strong tides lift and the cables strain, Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?

Refrain

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love.

For 'tis well secured by the Savior's hand; And the cables, passed from His heart to mine, Can defy that blast, thro' strength divine.

Refrain

It will surely hold in the Straits of Fear- When the breakers have told that the reef is near; Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow, Not an angry wave shall our bark o'erflow.

Refrain

It will firmly hold in the Floods of Death-- When the waters cold chill our latest breath, On the rising tide it can never fail, While our hopes abide within the Veil.

Refrain

When our eyes behold through the gath'ring night The city of gold, our harbor bright, We shall anchor fast by the heav'nly shore, With the storms all past forevermore.

Refrain

Wet Winter Pushes Sea of Galilee to Nearly Full

From a precipitation point of view, this winter is proving to be one of the wettest in recent years. For the past years, the winter rainfall in Israel has been very disappointing and below average. The annual accumulated deficit of rain has depleted the country's underground water resources and of course affected the amount of fresh water in the Sea of Galilee-Israel's main freshwater resource.

At the beginning of this year's rainy season, it was thought by meteorologists that even if this winter's precipitation was good it would not make up the deficit in the Sea of Galilee. At the end of last summer, the lake's level was one of the lowest on record.
If the Sea of Galilee is technically full, then the lake's level is set as 208.8 meters [685 ft] below sea level. When this level is attained, the dam gates at the southern end of the lake are opened and water can be allowed to run into the River Jordan. This has not been done for many years past. However, this year there is a chance that the Sea of Galilee will reach its optimum depth, as the rivers running into the lake from the north and the melting snow from the Hermon are filling the lake slowly but surely. Currently the lake's level is 212.15 meters [696 ft] below sea level.
For visitors to the north of Israel, the wet winter has meant the impressive waterfalls in the country are still an attraction and for the moment show no signs of reducing the flow into the Sea of Galilee.

Nature is unpredictable, but the chances are good that the summer will start with the Sea of Galilee full to its maximum, or very close to that. In the meantime, more heavy rain is predicted over the next few weeks. (Bridges for Peace)

- Stand in awe of the miracle that God has done in blessing the Land of Israel with such abundant rain that the Sea of Galilee went from a dangerously low level to nearly full. Praise His wondrous deeds!

- Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you-the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. (Joel 2:23)

"I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke." (Acts 2:19)

Kathy Lee Gifford's "TODAY" Show Featured Amazing Farewell in Worship: "The God Who Sees"

"TODAY" co-host Hoda Kotb surprised Gifford Wednesday by bringing Mullen on the show to sing "The God Who Sees," a song Mullen and Gifford wrote together.

"I was blessed to sing some of our song 'The God Who Sees' to those who need to hear it," Mullen wrote on her Instagram.

"I am so honored and thrilled to see all God has in store for this new season in all of our lives!"

The song is based on one of God's Biblical names - El Ro-ee - which means "The God Who Sees Me." It is a name given to God by Hagar (Gen 16:13) after He saved her and her son Ishmael from death.

The song goes beyond Hagar and tells the stories of Ruth, David, and Mary too.

"Can you identify with Hagar the single mother, Ruth the widow, David from shepherd boy to King . . . but still struggling? Or, how about Mary of Magdalene whose mental illness was caused by demonic forces? Ever been afraid, uncertain, worried, on the run?" Mullen wrote in an Instagram post.

"Then YOU are in good company!!! All of these people had a life-changing encounter with 'The God Who Sees.' So have I. So can you!" (Breaking Christian News) Read more

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
