Focus on Israel

1. Israeli tanks hit Hamas positions in Gaza after rocket fire - Times of Israel

Israeli tanks shelled Hamas positions in Gaza early Sunday morning, hours after several rockets were fired at Israel from the enclave.

The IDF said its tanks hit "a number of positions belonging to the Hamas terror group," in retaliation for the rocket fire, which capped a day that saw four Palestinians killed in protests along the border.

The Shehab news site, affiliated with Hamas, reported that a tank shelled a position east of Deir Balah in the central Strip at around 3 a.m.

2. Two dead, 224 injured in clashes along Gaza Border - Palestinian report - Jerusalem Post

Two young Palestinians were shot dead by IDF forces during the clashes along the Gaza Border with Israel, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.

The two men are Mohammed Jehad Sa'ad, 20, and Adham Nedal Amara, 17.

Two hundred and twenty four Palestinian were been injured, including 26 children and eight women. Among the injured were four reporters and three medical staff members, the statement said.

IDF Arabic spokesperson released a video on Saturday as mass protests erupt along the Gaza Strip border in which mothers in the Hamas-controlled territory are warned to "guard the lives of their children."

"A child who throws stones [on IDF troops] is not a hero," the video also said.

3. Gazans shoot five rockets at Israel after day of 'restrained' border protests - Times of Israel

Several rockets were fired from Gaza at Israel early Sunday, officials said, marking a likely setback hours after the sides appeared to be headed for an unofficial truce following a day of low-level violence along the border.

There were no reports of injuries or damage from the rocket fire, the Eshkol Regional Council said in a statement.

The Israel Defense Forces said five rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza after sirens sounded in the Eshkol region adjacent to the southern Gaza Strip at about 12:40 a.m.

Explosions had been heard and "rocket strikes had been pinpointed to open areas," the regional council said. It said searches were underway to locate the fired munitions.

4. Netanyahu Says He Would Not Appoint Gantz as Defense Minister if Reelected - HAARETZ

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that if he will be reelected in the April 9 ballot, he will not appoint his rival Benny Gantz as defense minister.

Netanyahu made the statement following an interview Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan gave Channel 13 in which he clarified that the Kahol Lavan leader and former Israel Defense Forces chief has due credit when it comes to experience in the defense field, and that anyone who accepts the guiding foundations of a government headed by Likud would not be ruled out as a partner.

"Benny Gantz, who supports the dangerous nuclear agreement with Iran, who backs the uprooting of 90,000 settlers, who opposed the construction of the fence I erected along the border with Egypt which completely halted infiltration into Israel, who is making up blood libels against me and who is collapsing under the pressure of an election campaign - he will not be a defense minister in my government," Netanyahu said.

5. Netanyahu cancels Security Cabinet meeting, ignoring Bennett's demands - World Israel News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled the Security Cabinet meeting that had been scheduled for Wednesday despite Education Minister Naftali Bennett's demand that Cabinet ministers be given more say into the security situation. No new date for the meeting has been set.

Bennett wrote to Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit demanding that he instruct Netanyahu to convene the Security Cabinet to discuss the recent attacks from the Gaza Strip.

Bennett sent the letter after Netanyahu announced on Saturday evening that an Israel-Hamas agreement was expected to be signed within the next few days.

Netanyahu, in a video post on his Facebook page, said "After the Sabbath, I told our forces to remain in place. We don't know if this calm will continue, and we are ready for every development. This is how we manage things: We use force when necessary, and we avoid, if possible, unnecessary wars."

The IDF on Saturday morning apprehended two young boys from Gaza who managed to cross the border fence, with one of them in possession of a knife.

The army said it briefly interrogated the eight-year-olds before sending them back into the coastal enclave through the Erez crossing.

During their questioning, the children said that they had been hoping to get caught and serve time in Israeli prison, according to a Hebrew IDF statement.

In an English tweet, the IDF said that "these eight-year-old children were forced to cross into Israel with a knife. We returned them safely to Gaza."

The Daily Brief

1. Trump Threatens To Close Border If Mexico Doesn't Help As Migrant Flood Increases - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump threatened to close the southern border if the Mexican government does not take more active measures to quell the migrant flood during a Thursday night rally in Michigan.

The president also reiterated his threat to close the border on Twitter Friday morning, saying Mexico makes "$100 billion a year" from the United States and has the strongest immigration laws anywhere in the world and therefore should "stop illegals from entering" the United States "through their country."

CBP Commissioner Kevin McAleenan told reporters the situation at the border is nearing a "breaking point," adding, "CBP is facing an unprecedented humanitarian and border security crisis all along our Southwest border - and nowhere has that crisis manifested more acutely than here in El Paso." The commissioner told reporters the situation is becoming so dire that migrants are not even being processed and instead directly released into the interior of the United States because there are no facilities to house them. (Read more)

- Father God in heaven, we call upon You for divine guidance for President Trump regarding the desperate immigration situation. Save America, Lord. Save America's future. We pray You deal with President Abrador in Mexico, whose responsibility it is to install what is needed for the people under his authority to receive help in their own country. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

-"And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth." (Genesis 6:12)

2. Mexico bows to Pres. Trump on 'containment' of illegal aliens - American Thinker

After Trump was exonerated by the Special Counsel, AMLO quickly dispatched his Interior Secretary Olga Sánchez-Cordero to meet with U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen in Miami on March 27.

Secretary Sanchez offered a Mexican Federal Police and military "containment" belt across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, the narrowest part of the country and very close to the southern border with Guatemala. When asked about the breakthrough with Mexico, Secretary Nielsen said: "It's going to be a big change."

Secretary Sánchez trumpeted the launch of a new era of Mexican security cooperation, "We are going to locate our migration installations, of Federal Police and civil protection, harmoniously and with collaboration among all the federal government agencies in such a way that we have containment." (Read more)

-Father in heaven, we pray You will enable all those working together regarding containment of illegal aliens, so there will be a sound and solid plan to accomplish this feat. We thank God for giving great knowledge to these on assignment. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

-"And said to the judges, Take heed what you do: for you judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment." (2 Chronicles 19:6)

3. Mo Brooks: Illegal Alien-Flooded States Diluting Votes of Red States - Mo Brooks

During testimony at a House Oversight and Reform Committee this week, Brooks said asking United States residents on the upcoming 2020 Census is necessary to know the number of illegal aliens living in the country and to ensure that congressional districts are drawn based on the number of American citizens, rather than entire populations, including citizens, noncitizens, and illegal aliens.

After the 2010 Census, illegal aliens were counted for reapportioning Congressional districts and electoral college votes. Hence, states that had fewer illegal aliens saw a shift of their political power to states that had more illegal aliens. The U.S. Supreme Court is set to decide in the coming months the constitutionality of asking American residents their citizenship status on the 2020 Census.

Law-abiding states lost not only Congressional representation in Congress, they also lost electoral college votes that elect the president of the United States. The counting of illegal aliens for reapportionment of political power purposes violates the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause by unconstitutionally diluting the representative and political power of citizens who live in low illegal alien population states. (Read more)

- Almighty God, it appears that the evil forces who lost control over President Trump's victory, are now installing corruption and wickedness in Congress and all governmental offices to swing votes for their men (and women) to get into power. God, we pray the Blood of Jesus will banish all efforts of rebellion and corruption from gaining rule over America's voting in 2020. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment." (Ezra 7:26)

4. Barr to release Mueller report to Congress by 'mid-April, if not sooner;' will not transmit to White House for privilege review - Fox News

Attorney General Bill Barr plans to submit the full version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation report to Congress by "mid-April, if not sooner," and will not give the White House a sneak peek, Fox News has learned.

The timetable comes as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle - and especially Democrats - demand that Barr turn over the full report. Barr submitted a four-page summary to congressional leaders on Sunday reporting Mueller did not find evidence of Trump-Russia collusion, while he did not reach a conclusion on whether President Trump obstructed justice.

"As we have discussed, I share your desire to ensure that Congress and the public had the opportunity to read the Special Counsel's report. The Special Counsel is assisting us in this process," Barr wrote to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y.

Barr said the Justice Department and the special counsel are "well along in the process of identifying and redacting" sensitive material, including material that "by law cannot be made public," "material the intelligence community identifies as potentially compromising sensitive sources and methods; material that could affect other ongoing matters, including those that the Special Counsel has referred to other Department offices; and information that would unduly infringe on the personal privacy and reputational interests of peripheral third parties." (Read more)

- Father God, we ask that Your wisdom would guide the Attorney General, as he seeks to redact the sensitive information that is buried inside this report, for the good of our nation. We thank You that soon, all America will be able to view the Mueller report.

- "Let all things be done decently and in order." (1 Corinthians 14:40)

5. Intelligence Committee Republicans Tell Schiff to Resign - CNS News

Reading from a letter to Schiff, Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) noted that despite the special counsel's findings and the findings of Republican committee members, Schiff has continued "to proclaim to the media that there is significant evidence of collusion."

Conaway continued, "The findings of the special counsel conclusively refute your past and present assertions and have exposed you as having abused your position to knowingly promote false information. Having damaged the integrity of this committee and undermined the faith in the United States government and its institutions, your actions both past and present are incompatible with your duty as chairman of this committee, which alone in the House of Representatives has the obligation and authority to provide effective oversight of the U.S. intelligence community.

As such, we have no faith in your ability to discharge your duties in a manner consistent with your constitutional responsibility and urge your immediate resignation as chairman of the committee. Mr. Chairman, this letter is signed by all nine members of the Republican side of the committee, and I ask unanimous consent that it be entered into the record at today's hearing." (Read more)

-Almighty God, we lift up Schiff and all his corruption before the throne of God and ask that by Your power this man will be removed from office and stripped from his position to have a voice in this matter. Strengthen the mighty men/women of God who will stand for righteousness in our government. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

-"The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek Him; but His power and His wrath is against all them that forsake God." ( Ezra 8:22)

6. Rand Paul: Investigate Obama officials who 'concocted Russian conspiracy hoax' - Washington Examiner

Sen. Rand Paul today called on Justice to investigate the Obama aides who forced the false claims into public. And Trump campaign pollster John McLaughlin demanded a probe into the efforts by the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton campaign to spy on the Trump campaign.

"I'm very concerned that it's becoming more clear that the Obama administration was able to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on our campaign based on phony opposition research from the Clinton campaign. Having federal law enforcement spy on a presidential campaign based on phony campaign research is really distressing and the true untold story," he said.

The anti-Trump campaign included dumps of false information about President Trump to reporters that disrupted the transition. "In retrospect, we now know this is one of the worst transitions in American history," Mr. Fleischer told The Washington Times. "It is clear several people in the Obama administration were doing everything they could to leave time bombs behind that would detonate all around Donald Trump and his administration." (Read more)

-Almighty God, we are so thankful that this major issue of malicious lies against President Trump from Obama and Clinton, are now revealed. Pull up all the corrupt tap roots of this hatred-fed army and be burned in the holy fires of God's righteousness. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

-"This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart, while they live, and after that they go to the dead." (Ecclesiastes 9:3)

7. We're Naming And Shaming The Absolutely Worst Reporters On The Russian Collusion Conspiracy Theory - Daily Caller

Attorney General Bill Barr revealed this weekend that special counsel Robert Mueller did not find that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government, dealing a hefty blow to a large swath of the media. Perhaps most damaged were the individual anchors and reporters who bet their careers on proving that President Donald Trump conspired with a foreign power to steal an election. These journalists authored fake stories, gave breathless coverage to the alleged scandal and ultimately misled the public.

We've compiled a list of some of the worst offenders.

> > (Editor's note: Please read more to pray for these reporters/journalists by name.)

-Father God, we rejoice that all the malicious lies that were reported in the news by deceived men/women reporters/journalists is now boldly confirmed. We praise God for exposing the truth and the honesty of President Trump as You stood with him through all the attacks by misguided media. We praise the Name of Jesus.

-"For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our King: He will save us." (Isaiah 33:22)

8. Outed CIA spy Valerie Plame set for Senate run as Democrat - Washington Examiner

Valerie Plame, the former CIA officer who shot to fame when she was outed during George W. Bush's presidency, is poised to run for U.S. Senate in New Mexico. The ex-spy told the Washington Examiner Friday that she would run as a Democrat and would "like another opportunity to serve my country."

An early problem for Plame, 55, will be a 2017 anti-Semitism scandal. Plame was forced to apologize after sharing on Twitter an anti-Semitic article from the UNZ Review entitled "America's Jews Are Driving America's Wars." The article stated that Jews "own the media," that they should wear labels while on national television, and that their beliefs were as dangerous as "a bottle of rat poison."

She has been active in Democratic politics since moving to Santa Fe, N.M., in 2007, after the scandal over the leak of her identity. She hosted a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's super PAC in 2014 and another fundraiser for Clinton's presidential campaign in 2015. (Read more)

-Almighty God, we pray that the ground which may have been fertile to receive lies, will turn to solid iron and no seed of deception will penetrate innocent and/or vulnerable minds. We call forth the power of the Holy Spirit to take all works and forms of darkness to be stone dead without life or opportunity. We pray in Jesus' holy Name.

-"And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever." (Isaiah 32:17)

9. Democrats replace POW/MIA flags with transgender equality flags to protest Trump's transgender troops ban - Washington Examiner

Several Democratic lawmakers replaced the POW/MIA flags outside their Capitol Hill offices with transgender equality flags to protest President Trump's new policy on transgender troops. The National Center for Transgender Equality sent flags to all members of Congress, including Republicans, to commemorate "Trans Visibility Week," Fox News reports.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., tweeted a photo of the door to his congressional office with the transgender equality flag standing in place of the usual black-and-white flag honoring prisoners of war and Americans missing in action.

Earlier this month, the Department of Defense made its first move toward implementing a ban on the enlistment of people who are taking hormones or transitioning or have transitioned to a different gender. According to the policy, which was signed by acting deputy defense secretary David Norquist, most of those wishing to serve in the military must do so in the gender in which they were born. On Thursday, the House voted 238-185 on a nonbinding resolution to oppose the policy, which will go into effect next month. (Read more)

-Almighty God, heaven frowns upon all the earth's sins that is preventable if people would only judge light from darkness. Holy Spirit send strong delusion upon those who propagate this deceptive behavior. Enlighten the minds of those who lack sound judgment. We trust and pray in the Name of Jesus.

-"They have cried unto them, Depart you; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not; when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen,They shall no more sojourn there." (Lamentations 4:15)

10. Exclusive: China shifts position on tech transfers, trade talks progress - U.S. officials - Reuters

China has made proposals in talks with the United States on a range of issues that go further than it has before, including on forced technology transfer, as the two sides work to overcome obstacles to a deal to end their protracted trade war, U.S. officials told Reuters on Wednesday.

Among Trump's demands are for Beijing to end practices that Washington alleges result in the systematic theft of U.S. intellectual property and the forced transfer of American technology to Chinese companies. U.S. companies say they are often pressured into handing over the technological know-how behind their products to Chinese joint venture partners, local officials or Chinese regulators as a condition for doing business in China. The U.S. government says that technology is often subsequently transferred to and used by Chinese competitors.

Reuters reported previously that the two sides were working on written agreements in six areas: forced technology transfer and cyber theft, intellectual property rights, services, currency, agriculture and non-tariff barriers to trade. (Read more)

-Great and almighty God, we pray any and all written agreements between America and China be nullified, made legally void, annulled, made valueless, useless, bring to nothing, and cancelled out from this day forward, including all partnerships that America has with China. Cover this with the Blood of Jesus and cleanse the past. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

-"Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" ( Romans 6:16)

11. 85-year-old Pro-life activist beaten outside abortion clinic - OneNewsNow

An elderly pro-life activist is awaiting justice after he was literally kicked on the ground by a man who stole a pro-life banner and walked away.

LifeNews reports the assault victim, known as Ron, was participating in a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil outside a Planned Parenthood clinic in San Francisco, when he confronted a second man who swiped a 40 Days banner and intended to steal it.

According to video of the incident, the thief was getting on a bicycle with the stolen banner when Ron stuck a flag pole in the bike spokes, stopping the thief. But the thief used the bike to push Ron to the ground, then kicked the pro-lifer when they fought over the banner.

"Old man, stay on the ground," the thief told the pro-life activist as they fought over the banner. "Stay on the ground unless you wanna get hurt."

The "old man" did stay on the ground, and the thief became not just a thief but an assaulter as he kicked the man three times before the footage stops. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray first of all for the 85 year old pro-lifer. We pray blessings and health on this man. We pray for protection on all those who stand up for the truth. We pray for the attacker and say, "Father forgive him for he knows not what he does.

- For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.(Psalm 86:5)

Richmond: Day of Mourning

'Day of Mourning' to be held in Virginia's capital to protest Gov. Northam's infanticide remarks

A grassroots movement of repentance inspired by pro-life advocates as a response to the push to liberalize abortion laws in states across the country will be holding a gathering in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday to fast and pray.

What is being called the Day of Mourning will be held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center largely because of proposed legislation by Democrat Delegate Kathy Tran that mirrored New York's new law legalizing abortion up to birth, and Gov. Ralph Northam's words defending it.

Northam, a Democrat elected in 2017, said in a radio interview amid the controversy over Tran's proposal that a "discussion" would take place about the child's fate should the child be born alive during an abortion procedure, which shocked and horrified many. A massive outcry ensued as a result, and pro-life advocates and Republican politicians who blasted him for supporting infanticide.
"Have we already forgotten that Virginia Governor Northam advocated for executing already born full-term babies?" asked Elizabeth Johnston (also known as The Activist Mommy), one of the event's organizers, in comments emailed to The Christian Post on Monday. "Have we already forgotten that New York Governor [Andrew] Cuomo and his friends at Planned Parenthood celebrated child murder by lighting up the World Trade Center pink? Is our commitment to our unborn neighbors so fickle that we have already allowed our righteous anger to subside?"
"The Day of Mourning movement will not stop at mourning. We are prepared to mobilize the thousands of Day of Mourning attendees to move off the sidelines and onto the front lines of the abortion battle," Johnston said.

"As David, the shepherd boy, challenged the naysayers, 'Is there not a cause?'" she added, referencing 1 Samuel 17 prior to the slaying of Goliath. (Christian Post) Read more.

- Father God, we ask that there will be a vast outpouring of repentance on this Day of Mourning for the State of Virginia next Saturday, April 6. We bless all who will participate and ask for journeying mercies for each one. in Your Name. Lord, hear our cry, we pray, amen.

- "Thy people shall volunteer freely in the day of Thy power." (Psalm 110:3)

Classic Hymns

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Lyrics

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shame;
and I love that old cross where the dearest and best
for a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain:

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
has a wondrous attraction for me;
for the dear Lamb of God left his glory above
to bear it to dark Calvary. [Refrain]

3 In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
a wondrous beauty I see,
for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
to pardon and sanctify me. [Refrain]

4 To that old rugged cross I will ever be true,
its shame and reproach gladly bear;
then he'll call me some day to my home far away,
where his glory forever I'll share. [Refrain]

Iran calls emergency in flood-threatened southwest province

DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran said on Saturday it faced an emergency in a southwestern province threatened by flooding and worked to evacuate dozens of villages as forecasters predicted more of the heavy rains that have killed at least 45 people this week, state media reported.

Some 56 villages lying near the Dez and Karkheh rivers in the oil-rich southwestern province of Khuzestan may have to be evacuated as officials released water from two major dams along the rivers due to forecasts for more rain, the provincial governor, Gholamreza Shariati, told state television.

"Some residents are resisting (evacuation calls) because of their livestock . . . and because they've experienced similar circumstances in the past," Shariati said, adding Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli had agreed to call an emergency in Khuzestan.

. . . At least 45 people were killed this week in flash floods in northern and southern Iran after the heaviest rains recorded in Iran in at least a decade, the state news agency IRNA quoted Health Minister Saeid Namaki as saying.

Western and southwestern parts of the country are expected to bear the brunt of the storms in the days ahead. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray for the innocent citizens of Iran who are seeing their lives devastated by these floods. May each one realize that their false god cannot save them in these perilous times; and may each one yield to the wooing of the Holy Spirit unto salvation through the Blood of Jesus.

- "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

'I Can Only Imagine' team launches faith-based movie studio, announces four new films

ANAHEIM, Calif. -The filmmaking team behind "I Can Only Imagine" has launched a new faith-based movie studio and unveiled four new theatrical films to be distributed by Lionsgate, including "I Still Believe," "Jesus Revolution," "Apostles: Resurrection of Christ," and "The Drummer Boy."

"We started asking, 'What can we do together that none of us can do alone? Is there a way, instead of being soloists, that we can become a symphony?" Christian filmmaker Jon Erwin told an audience at the National Religious Broadcasters' convention Wednesday.

"The more we asked it, the more the question became a dream, and the more we asked it, the more we went out and recruited some talent and some people we were dying to work with, the more that dream became a reality - we could see it and taste it. That's why today, we're here to launch that dream. We're not here to launch a movie. We're here to launch a movie studio," he continued.
