"Standing Together in the Kingdom of God . . .
Under the Cross of Christ"

"For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end." (Psalm 48:14)

Update: Baton Rouge

Update: Baton Rouge

Today, Baton Rouge is once again a city in pain . . . and confusion . . . and grief. We turn our hearts towards this city, in tears and in suffering with them.
Once again, we ask each of you to join us in simply "praying in the Spirit" over each headline listed below. There are so many details here, but our great God knows them all. By lifting up prayers in the Spirit, we can align our intercession with that of the Father, offering perfect prayers before His Throne of Grace in this hour of desperate need. Thank you.
- "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words." (Romans 8:25 NIV)

1. 3 law enforcement officers killed, 3 others injured in Baton Rouge shooting - Fox News

The Louisiana governor called the shooting of Baton Rouge deputies and officers "an absolutely unspeakable heinous attack" Sunday, as the city mourned the deaths of three officers and prayed for the recovery of one "fighting for his life."

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards described Sunday morning's deadly ambush on six Baton Rouge officers as "unjustifiable" and said, "the violence, the hatred just has to stop."

Officials said the officers were shot Sunday after responding to a call about a man walking down Airline Highway with an assault rifle at approximately 8:40 a.m. outside a store in Baton Rouge -- about a mile from police headquarters.

Three officers are confirmed dead in the attack. Three others are injured, including one critically. The gunman was shot and killed at the scene.

Baton Rouge police department identified two of the slain officers as Montrell Jackson and Matthew Gerald.

Jackson, 32, served on the force for 10 years and had a 4-month-old child, while Gerald, 41, served for less than a year.

Authorities talk to the driver of a car near an area where several officers were shot while on duty less than a mile from police headquarters, Sunday, July 17, 2016, in Baton Rouge, La.

The third slain cop was identified by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's office as Brad Garafola. (Read more)

2. Baton Rouge Shooter Gavin Eugene Long Was Nation Of Islam Member - Daily Caller

A Youtube account operated by Gavin Eugene Long and discovered by The Daily Caller reveals key insight into what might have motivated the 29-year-old black man who killed three Baton Rouge police officers Sunday morning.

Videos on Long's account show that he was a former Nation of Islam member. He also ranted against "crackers" and made references to Alton Sterling, the black man killed by police in Baton Rouge on July 5.

Other information about Long shows that the Kansas City native, who CBS reported was honorably discharged from the Marines in 2010, went by the name Cosmo Ausar Setepenra.

In one video filmed from Houston and posted to Long's Youtube account on July 12, the suspected guman discusses being in the Marines and reaching the rank of E-5. (Read more, but caution: very bad language included in the text, quoting Gavin's recorded comments.)

3. Baton Rouge Shooting Jolts a Nation on Edge - New York Times

BATON ROUGE, La. - A gunman fatally shot three law enforcement officers and wounded three others here on Sunday before being killed in a shootout with the police. The attack's motive was unclear as of Sunday evening, leaving an anxious nation to wonder whether the anger over recent police shootings had prompted another act of retaliation against officers.

What was clearer were the waves of worry that rushed across the United States as sketchy details emerged of a bloody melee Sunday morning on a workaday stretch of highway in Louisiana's capital - a city that had already been rocked by the police shooting on July 5 of a black man, a purported murder plot against the police that was apparently foiled and many racially charged nights of protest and rage. 4. Obama urges Americans to tamp down inflammatory rhetoric - Fox News

Confronting another killing of police officers, President Barack Obama on Sunday urged Americans to tamp down inflammatory words and actions as a violent summer collides with the nation's heated presidential campaign.

Obama said the motive behind Sunday's killing of three officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was still unknown. It was the latest in a string of deadly incidents involving law enforcement, including the police shooting of a black man in Baton Rouge and the killing of five officers in Dallas.

"We as a nation have to be loud and clear that nothing justifies attacks on law enforcement," Obama said in remarks from the White House briefing room. The president spoke earlier Sunday with Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden to hear the latest on the investigation into the shootings and pledge federal support.

Obama has spent most of the last week focused on defusing tensions and rebuilding trust between police departments and the communities they serve. (Read more)

5. When police are shot, America is the target - CNN

This morning, two Baton Rouge police officers and one East Baton Rouge sheriff's deputy were shot and killed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At least three other officers were shot and wounded.

It's still early in the investigation into this tragedy. But before we say that being a cop is a dangerous job; before we say that people are "understandably" angry following a series of officer-involved shootings; before any of that, we have to understand that when police are shot, America is the target.

You and me: We are the target. (Read more)

1. UNESCO head backs Israel: Ignoring Jewish, Christian ties to Jerusalem harms its cultural status - Jerusalem Post

Attempts by member states to erase Jewish and Christian ties to Jerusalem's Old City harms its cultural status as a site that is sacred to the three monotheistic religions, warned UNESCO's Director-General Irina Bokova on Friday.

"To deny or conceal any of the Jewish, Christian or Muslim traditions undermines the integrity of the site, and runs counter to the reasons that justified its inscription in 1981," Bokova wrote in a message she posted on the organization's website.

She made the statement as Israel is in the midst of a pitched battle to prevent the World Heritage Committee's 21-member states from passing a resolution on Jerusalem that references the Temple Mount solely by its Muslim name of Al-Haram/Al-Sharif. (Read more)

2. Israel Passes Law to Protect Christians in IDF - Israel Today

The Knesset passed a bill this week designed to protect Arab Christians who enlist in the Israeli army. The law, which includes an extended prison sentence for anyone who tries to dissuade a Christian Arab from serving in the IDF, became necessary in the face of stiff opposition and violent attacks against the Christian soldiers.

Much of the hostility towards the Christian soldiers comes from Arab members of Israeli Knesset. Knesset member Aida Touma-Suliman of the Joint Arab List attacked the bill during the debate. "They want to drag the Christian Arab population into volunteering for the army that is occupying their people," she said.

"We will try to suggest to our young people a path that is total pride and honor, and not to be part of any machine (IDF) that oppresses our people." There are over 130,000 Christian Arab citizens in Israel, a potential source of significant recruitment for the IDF. However, Arab Christian enlistment has been severely limited due largely to the threats and incitement against young Christians wanting to join the army. That appears to be changing as unprecedented numbers of Christians are enlisting. (Read more)

3. Netanyahu aide detained in Israel fraud probe - Israel National News

A former senior aide to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was arrested in connection with a fraud inquiry, police said on Friday.

A police statement said the aide -- named by media reports as Ari Harrow, Netanyahu's former chief of staff -- was detained and questioned on Thursday evening "as part of an ongoing investigation".

Haaretz said Israeli police launched a probe last week into Harrow's suspected involvement in the fictitious sale of a business supposedly worth $3 million. The 43-year-old American born businessman was reportedly tasked in 2002 with raising overseas funds for Netanyahu. (Read more)

4. Turkish official: Israel-Turkey reconciliation to continue - Israel National News

A senior Turkish official on Sunday evening assured a senior Israeli official that "the reconciliation process [between Israel and Turkey] continues as usual" even after the failed coup attempt this weekend.

The Turkish official's comments follow Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's remarks at Sunday morning's cabinet meeting, and following the announcement of the Foreign Ministry regarding Israel's desire to continue the reconciliation process with Turkey.

"We are grateful for the messages and appreciate them, and will continue the reconciliation process as normal," said the Turkish official. (Read more)

5. Israel shoots at drone over Golan Heights - Israel National News

A Code Red siren was recently heard in several Golan Heights communities, after an unidentified aircraft was spotted in the area. IDF forces quickly responded with two Patriot missiles at a Syrian drone.

"Moments ago two Patriot air defense missiles were fired towards a drone which infiltrated Israeli airspace from Syria," said an IDF spokesperson. However, the military was unable to confirm that the missiles struck the drone. (Read more)

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

1. Texas Senators Cornyn, Cruz propose bill to make killing of cop a federal crime - UPI

Two senators from Texas introduced legislation making it a federal crime to kill a police officer nearly one week after five officers in Dallas were killed by a sniper.

Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, both Republicans, co-sponsored the Black and Blue Act of 2016, which would make it a federal crime to kill a law enforcement office, public safety officer, or federal judge, and carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years and the possibility of the death penalty. The bill also increases penalties for the attempted murder of a police officer, and would make it legal for officers to carry their firearms into federal buildings.

"Law enforcement officers selflessly put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, and in return they deserve our unparalleled support for the irreplaceable role they serve," Cornyn said in a statement . "The Back the Blue Act sends a clear message that our criminal justice system simply will not tolerate those who viciously and deliberately target our law enforcement." (Read more)

- Father, bless Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz for introducing legislation on the Black and Blue Act of 2016, which would make it a federal crime to kill a law enforcement officer, public safety officer, or federal judge, and carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years and the possibility of the death penalty. Lord, let Your authority be exercised on action for passing this bill. Too many lives of these brave and selfless men and women have been lost. Let hate and killing be replaced with Your love and peace. In Your Precious name we pray, Amen.

- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior." (2 Timothy 2:1-3)

2. Trump chooses Pence for VP - The Hill

Donald Trump has chosen Indiana Gov. Mike Pence to be his running mate, he announced in a tweet Friday morning.

The presumptive GOP presidential nominee originally planned to unveil his choice Friday morning in New York City, but he canceled the event after the deadly attack in France late Thursday.

Trump will introduce Pence in his new role at a news conference Saturday morning, he said on Twitter. The Saturday event will be in Bedminster, N.J., according to CNN.

Pence responded on Twitter 45 minutes after Trump's tweet, writing: "Honored to join @realDonaldTrump and work to make America great again." (Read more)

- Lord Jehovah . . . You are our provider in all things that are good and acceptable. You are a mighty and gracious God and we desire to honor and serve You well. We come together in unity of purpose, asking and believing that You would help the Republican Party members rally around their candidates . . .Trump for President and Pence for Vice President, so that all are truly walking into the future with one mind and one heart for the betterment of our Nation and her of people. To God, Alone, Wise, be glory and honor . . . We pray in Jesus' name . . . amen.

- "Can two walk together, except they be agreed." (Amos 3:3 KJV)

3. Cleveland beefs up security measures in wake of Nice terror attack
- Fox News

The area around the Republican National Convention site in Cleveland increased security measures Friday to thwart a similar attack to what occurred in Nice, France Thursday, adding concrete traffic dividers and tall metal fences. According to Reuters, security experts said police, U.S. Secret Service agents and other law enforcement officials have viewed vehicles - similar to the truck that plowed through a crowd during Bastille Day festivities in Nice killing 84 revelers - as a potential threat since the early stages of planning for the convention.

Security officials have mostly focused on stopping a car or truck bomb similar to one that hit the World Trade Center in 1993 and the Oklahoma City federal office building in 1995. However, the decision to add the protective barriers around the Quicken Loans Arena was taken before the attack. Ron Rowe, a high-ranking agent with the Secret Service, said Tuesday that some of the barriers would be going up that day, according to Reuters.

Police Chief Calvin Williams noted the city had changed its security plans in light of last week's murder of five police officers in Dallas but said he would not elaborate for obvious reasons. Williams said planning has been exhaustive and "Cleveland is prepared. We invite people to come here enjoy the convention, exercise your constitutional rights and we're here to assist you in doing that."

The 74 different agencies providing security will be overseen and coordinated by the US Secret Service. "I don't sleep well to begin with," said Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy. He added that when there is an event the size of a convention, with all of its tension and dynamics, an emergency is unavoidable. (Read more)

- Jehovah Nissi, You are a BANNER OF ENCOURAGEMENT to our U.S. Secret Service and all other participating security agents in this very critical time in our nation's history. You provide a feeling of HOPE and a FOCAL POINT, along with a measure of WISDOM and DISCERNMENT, so that they will see their clear way to protect all who gather from any negative and harmful activity, for the duration of our Republican Convention. In Jesus' name, amen.

- "No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises up against you in judgement. This is the heritage of the SERVANTS OF THE LORD and their vindication from Me, declares the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17)

4. US Preparing for Islamic State's 'Terrorist Diaspora' - Voice of America

Much of the U.S. and coalition strategy against IS has been predicated on the idea that without the ability to hold territory in Iraq and Syria, the terror group will falter, unable to make good on its promise of a utopian society. Yet as the fall of the IS caliphate looks to draw nearer, U.S. officials are increasingly cautious, saying the group will remain a dynamic and formidable threat for some time to come.

"We all know there will be a terrorist diaspora out of the caliphate," FBI Director James Comey told the House Homeland Security Committee on Thursday. "Those thousands of fighters are going to go someplace," he said. "Our job is to spot them and stop them before they come to the United States to harm innocent people."

As many as 40,000 foreign fighters from more than 120 countries are believed to have flocked to the conflict in Syria, with a majority of them joining IS while the group grew and saw its fortunes rise as it advanced across Iraq. Now, Comey and others worry the terror group is in a prime position to take advantage of the flow home. (Read more)

- Lord Jesus, You see and know the hearts of good and evil people. With 40,000 foreign fighters on the move after their plans failed in the Middle East, we ask You to give wisdom and discernment to Homeland Security and all who seek to capture these evil-hearted fighters who have intentions to harm and kill others. Lord, You are the Son of the Almighty God with authority to protect the lives of all mankind. Thank You for using that authority to bring down the evil ones, so that only Your glory will shine throughout the world. In the Holy Name of the Father and the Son. We ask this in Your Name, Amen.

- "So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search her for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding." (Proverbs 2: 2-6)

5. Nice attack: At least 84 killed by lorry at Bastille Day celebrations - BBC News

A day after a terrorist mowed down dozens of people celebrating Bastille Day in the coastal French city of Nice, investigators dug into the life of the man they say was the killer: A 31-year-old delivery driver and Nice resident who was born in Tunisia. Authorities said Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel drove a rented, refrigerated truck weighing about 20 tons into crowds along a roughly 2-kilometer stretch of Promenade des Anglais on Thursday night, killing 84 people -- including 10 children and adolescents -- and injuring 202 others.

The attack ended when police shot into the truck, killing Bouhlel, French prosecutor François Molins said Friday. Of the injured, 52 were in critical condition, and 25 were in a coma, Molins said. President Francois Hollande described the most seriously injured as being "between life and death."

Bouhlel's father, who lives in Tunisia, has revealed that his son showed signs of mental health issues -- having had multiple nervous breakdowns and volatile behavior, said CNN terrorism analyst Paul Cruickshank. The man was "entirely unknown by the intelligence services, whether nationally or locally," Molins said. "He had never been the subject of any kind of file or indication of radicalization," Molins said. (Read more)

- Father, lend comfort to the 84 families who lost loved ones and friends in the lorry attack in Nice, France. Lord God, bring healing to the 202 people that were injured in the same attack. If any of these people don't know You, let them come to You during this time of grieving and healing. Father, a time of celebration turned into a nightmare because evil tried to rule in the world again. Lord, we know that You rule over the world You created. Take down any further attacks by these evil terrorists. Give protection to all peoples in all nations from these evil people. We ask these things in Your name, amen.

- "Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; Do not further his wicked scheme, lest they be exalted. Selah. As for the head of those who surround me, Let the evil of their lips cover them; Let burning coals fall upon them; Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, that they rise not up again." (Psalm 140: 8-10)

6. Attack in Nice: Driver of truck identified as 31-year-old Tunisia native - CNN

ISIS claims responsibility for Nice attack - Jerusalem Post - Jerusalem Post

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the truck attack on the French city of Nice on Saturday as French police arrested three people there in connection with the carnage that claimed the lives of at least 84 people.

"The person who carried out the operation in Nice, France, to run down people was one of the soldiers of Islamic State," the news agency Amaq, which supports Islamic State, said via its Telegram account. (Read more)

- Father, let the truth of the 31-year-old driver of the lorry that did this horrific act, come to light and don't let the excuse of mental illness be blamed for his evilness. The family of the young man also needs Your comfort and salvation. Let them know You as the one and only God of all mankind. In Your Name, amen.

Father, please take down ISIS and all that have connections with them. Enough of their evil has been done. Come to the rescue of Your people before any other lives are lost at the hands of ISIS. We give You honor and glory as we ask these things in Your Holy name, amen.

- "I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And justice for the poor. Surly the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; The upright shall dwell in Your presence." (Psalm 140:12-13)

7. ISIS supporters celebrate on social media as Hollande calls Nice tragedy 'clearly terror' - Jerusalem Post

Supporters of Islamic State celebrated on social media an attack in France by a truck that ran into crowds watching a fireworks display on the Bastille Day national holiday, killing at least 80 people and injuring over 100.

"The number of those killed had reached 62 french crusaders and sinful infidels in Nice, France. God is great, God is great," read one tweet as details of the terror attack were emerging. "Oh France, you and the all Europe will never be secure until we will live secure on every inch in the land of the Caliphate," wrote another user. "This is the beginning of the attack to take the holy revenge for the killing of Abu Omar Shishani, may Allah accept him," another said on an Isis forum.

In a pre-dawn address to the nation, French President Francois Hollande said Thursday's lethal attack on the southern city of Nice was clearly a terrorist assault and that the state of emergency imposed since a previous attack on Paris last November would be extended for another three months. (Read more)

- Gracious Heavenly Father, this is a very sad and evil report, one that goes against Your Kingdom rule. Your Son, and our Savior Jesus, did not pray for the world and those in it who partake of worldly ungodly acts that senselessly kill another human being (John 17:9a) . . . Absolutely not! But Jesus did pray for those whom You have given over to Him (John 17:9b). And so it is that we also pray for any among this group that will come out of it and answer the "Call." We pray for those who will repent, and turn from this lifestyle to follow after Jesus. We thank You for these, in Jesus' name, amen.

- "You have heard that it was said to those of old, "you SHALL NOT MURDER," and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgement." (Matthew 5:21)

8. Erdogan's revenge: Thousands arrested following coup attempt - WND

Even before Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's plane landed in Istanbul Friday night, he was vowing "revenge" against those responsible for the attempted military coup then underway and since crushed.

Saturday morning, he and his supporters wasted no time making good on his promise - arresting conspirators, purging the judiciary and blaming the U.S..

According to Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, 2,839 soldiers and officers implicated in the overnight coup attempt have been arrested. The overnight conflict resulted in 265 deaths, including 104 pro-coup participants, and 1,440 injured in Ankara, the capital, and Istanbul, Turkey's largest city. (Read more)

- Father, when things explode this quickly, we must turn to You for help, asking that Your peace rule and reign. In the aftermath of this uprising, we ask that You stay the hand of President Erdogan from coming against his people ruthlessly. Remove the fear from his heart, and let him rule justly. We ask in Your name, amen.

- Pray for kings and all who are in authority. (I Timothy 2:1-4)

9. Tensions rise between US, Turkey after failed coup as flights from key airbase are grounded - Fox News

The U.S. and Turkey traded harsh words Saturday in the wake of a failed military coup against the Ankara government, while all air missions against the ISIS terror group out of Turkey were grounded. Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook confirmed that power had been cut to the Incirlik air base in southern Turkey, near the Syria border. Cook also confirmed that Turkey had halted all military flights out of the base, including those by its own jets.

The Pentagon said it was trying to get permission to resume air operations from the base, while adjusting mission operations in the meantime.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry spoke to his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavosoglu, for the second time in as many days following the attempted takeover, that left at least 265 people dead and 1,400 wounded.

Despite the support for Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government by the Obama administration during the coup, the country's labor minister suggested Washington was behind the uprising. Meanwhile, Erdogan himself bluntly requested the extradition of Pennsylvania-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, whom Erdogan blamed for inspiring the coup, saying, "If we are strategic partners, then you should bring about our request." (Read more)

We ask in Your name, amen.

- "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 18:18)

10. Erdogan calls on US to extradite Pennsylvania-based cleric after failed Turkey coup - Fox News

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the U.S. Saturday to extradite a Muslim cleric living in Pennsylvania following a failed military coup. In a televised speech, Erdogan said Turkey had never refused any request by the U.S. to extradite "terrorists" and invoked Washington and Ankara's relationship as "strategic partners" in an effort to force the return of Fethullah Gulen. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Saturday the Obama administration would entertain an extradition request but Turkey would have to prove wrongdoing by Gulen. Gulen denied knowledge of the coup to reporters at his Pennsylvania compound Saturday. The cleric said that he knows only a "minute fraction" of his legions of sympathizers in Turkey, so he cannot speak to their "potential involvement" in the takeover attempt. (Read more)

- Father, this is a very complex issue, so we do pray much in the Spirit over it, as we know You know all its details. Abba Father, we are concerned, along with intercessors who live in the State of Pennsylvania, that this terrorist sponsor has a compound in Saylorsville. We ask that You send Your heavenly host to surround that compound, protecting all on the outside from harm. In Your name, Amen.

Terror attack thwarted in Jerusalem!

Terror attack thwarted, bombs found in downtown Jerusalem!

SUMMARY: Light rail security guards approached a man who aroused their suspicions; After speaking to the man, he claimed that he had a bomb in his bag; Sappers defused the bombs; The light rail is now running normally.

Several pipe bombs were found in the middle of downtown Jerusalem at the Jaffa street light rail stop during Sunday morning rush hour.

A Druze light rail security guard saw a man who arose his suspicions. The guard called the suspect over and began speaking to the man in Arabic. While the first light rail guard was speaking to the suspect, a second guard began searching the bag.

He lifted the bag and felt that it was extremely heavy. He then looked into the bag and saw the pipebombs, whereby the suspect was apprehended and police were called.

The suspect is in his 20s and is a resident of the West Bank. He revealed that he planned to set off several pipe bombs on the light rail following an investigation.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barakat thanked the security guards with a special meeting at the Mayors office. He said "We heard the story, and we're very impressed. Both due to the fact that you knew how to look for things which were out of the ordinary, that you managed to see the terrorist, and that you understood that he was suspicious. You saved a lot of lives today."

He continued, saying "Jerusalem tips its hat to you both, and I wanted to invite you both to my office to personally thank you and to hold you both up as examples for the citizens of Jerusalem. Congratulations."
Jerusalem District Police Commander, Police Major General Yoram Halevi, said that "there is no doubt in my mind that a tragedy was prevented. We're in a very sensitive week. Yet nothing is out of the ordinary, we are prepared for anything, for any possibility."

"This type of scenario," commissioner continued, speaking about the thwarted attack, "is a well known form of attack, whereby the terrorist comes and leaves a bag full of bombs somewhere.

Knives were also found in the bag, suggesting "the attack would have continued. After the bomb, there would be people shooting or stabbing the survivors. That means that a giant attack was thwarted today.
Police spokesman Doron ben Amo said "the terrorist aroused the suspicions of the security personnel due to his behavior. The security guard asked him to open up his bag, and the guard saw different colored wires. The guards were highly aware, and this is what enabled them to prevent the terrorist from getting onto the train. This was a thwarted terror attack. It is with out a doubt due to the awareness of the security guards, and the quickness of the police who arrived within minutes, which stopped this huge attack from happening." (Ynet News) Read more.
- Lord God Yeshua, we thank You for this good report out of Jerusalem today. We praise You for the many lives that were spared in this planned attack, and for the arrest of this terrorist.

Lord God, as our own police are working every day to avert threats in our own homeland, we ask in humility and in repentance that You would allow the same anointing to fall upon our own law enforcement officers now, in Your Name, amen.

- "But I will sing of Your power;
Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning;
For You have been my defense
And refuge in the day of my trouble.

To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises;
For God is my defense,
My God of mercy."
(Psalm 59:16,17)

America in the end times

Many theologians and students of the Bible have various theories of America's position and role in the end times. Some argue that the use of the word "Eagle" in certain verses refers to the United States. Others believe that certain descriptions of Babylon point toward the modern America. Others use numerology to decipher America's involvement in eschatology. Certainly, many of these theories could well be considered "types and shadows," or examples if you will, of how a nation could be positioned for a certain purpose in the end times. America has played and is playing a substantial role in eschatology--some good, most not.

The United States was instrumental in helping bring about the reestablishment of Israel, a fulfillment of several prophecies such as Isaiah 66:8, "Who ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Is a country born in one day? Is a nation brought forth all at once? For as soon as Zion went into labor, she brought forth her children"; and, Ezekiel 37:21-22, "I will take the people of Israel from among the nations where they have gone and gather them from every side and bring them back to their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel." Until the current administration, the US had been a longstanding ally of Israel since 1948, playing a strong role in Bible eschatology.

The US has also played a strong role in aligning the nations that will come against Israel in the Day of the Lord. President Jimmy Carter began the march of the end time "Beast" prophecies by deposing the Shah of Iran and supporting democracy there in 1979. The radical Shia government came to power under the Ayatollahs. President Bill Clinton used the power of America to support the Islamic takeover of Kosovo. President George W Bush and the current man who occupies the Oval Office promoted democratic Islamism (surely a contradiction in terms) in Gaza, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, and Yeman. The White House has been positioning America to do the same in Syria.

A map of the Islamic Caliphate that ruled over the Middle East and Eastern Europe from 1299 to 1923 indicates that America has helped reestablish Islam in well over half of the land mass of that former Ottoman Empire. After World War II, the US supported the democratization of Turkey, the linchpin in end time eschatology as revealed in Revelation, Daniel, and Ezekiel. Saudi Arabia has been a perceived US ally as well as a pervader of radical Islam. The former Ottoman Empire nations are those mentioned in Ezekiel 38, Psalm 83, and the Beast Empire in Daniel 11 that comprise the specific nations that come against Israel in the Day of the Lord. While there is no specific mention of America in the Bible, her prophetic role appears to be significant.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Venue Taking Place in an "Open Carry" State

This week the GOP convention is being held in Cleveland, OH, an "open carry" state. There have been numerous & specific threats spoken by provocateurs indicating their intention to disrupt the activities of the convention which they expect will probably result in arrests being made. Additionally, I heard a spokesman of the New Black Panther Party state their intention to bring guns with them. The governor has denied the request of the president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Assoc's to temporarily ban weapons in Cuyahoga County for the duration of the convention thru the issuance of a "state of emergency."

In an interview conducted by Judge Jeanine Pirro on FOX News Saturday night a representative of Bikers4Trump stated that thousands of bikers are on their way to Cleveland and plan to act as a shield for the delegates and police in Cleveland should the need arise.

July 25-28 is the date of the DNC convention in Philadelphia, PA. There are already serious security issues cropping up regarding this event.

Due to the tension that currently exists within the political, racial and law enforcement communities, as well as concern about the potential of a terrorist attack, I would like to respectfully suggest that these events also be remembered in prayer. Thank you.

Classic Hymns

"We are standing on holy ground"

"No one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 3:11)

Lyrics

As I walked through the door I sensed his presence
And I knew this was a place where love abounds
For this is the temple, jehovah God abides here
And we are standing in his presence On holy ground

We are standing on holy ground
And I know there are angels all around
Let us praise Jesus now
We are standing in his presence
On holy ground

In his presence there is joy beyond measure
And at his feet peace of mind can still be found
If you have a need, I know He has the answer
Reach out and claim it for we are standing On holy ground

We are standing on holy ground
And I know there are angels all around
Let us praise, Jesus now
We we are standing in his presence
On holy ground

We are standing on holy ground
And I know there are angels all around
Let us praise, Jesus now
We we are standing in his presence
We we are standing in his presence
We we are standing in his presence
On holy ground

Signs and Wonders

Big Sunspots Erupting Now

Geomagnetic Storms may be unleashed at the poles

Solar activity has been low for months. This could soon change. Two big sunspot groups are directly facing Earth, and one of them has an unstable magnetic field that poses a threat for M-class solar flares. Bill Hrudey photographed the active regions on July 16th from Cayman islands.

"Sunspots AR2567 & AR2565 are great imaging targets surrounded by many granules," says Hrudey.

What are granules? The sun is so hot, it literally boils. Granules are bumps on the boiling surface, much like the bumpy surface of water boiling on a hot stove. One difference: While the granules on your stove are only a few centimeters across, granules on the sun are as wide as Texas.

As if granules weren't big enough, the primary dark cores of these sunspots are twice as wide as the entire Earth. Great targets indeed. If you have a solar telescope, take a look.

Meanwhile, a solar wind stream is expected to hit Earth on July 19th, and this could spark G1-class geomagnetic storms around the poles. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras, especially in the southern hemisphere where dark winter skies favor visibility of faint lights. (Spaceweather.com)

"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea." (Luke 21:25)
