The Daily Brief:
"Praying for All in Authority"
Tuesday, October 6, 2015

"Cast your burden upon the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken." (Psalm 55:22)

MILLIONS JOIN IN PRAYER FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! Go here . . .

1. Catastrophic Scenario: World War III may have begun on September 30, French media say - Foxcrawl

French news outlets write that World War III may have already started, noting that two events which emerged in Moscow and Gulf Area, can be seen as the trigger for a global confrontation:

. . . it looks like 30 September 2015 delivered two news (events) which individually are seemingly less serious, but combined, could spark a conflagration which has smoldered for a long time. (Read more)

- Father God, we do not want to get ahead of Your plan for the nations, nor do we wish to fall behind. Lord God, we do see the writing on the wall, as this French author has pointed out, and (in full), its relation to the series of catastrophic chain events in 1914 that eventually led to the outbreak of the First World War. Lord God, let us learn from our mistakes, and let us walk wisely in these perilous times. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen and amen.

- "For royal power belongs to the LORD. He rules all the nations." (Psalm 22:8 NLT)

2. Iran: Missiles Pointed at U.S. Targets - Free Beacon

A senior Iranian military leader warned this weekend that "all U.S. military bases in the Middle East are within the range of" Iran's missiles and emphasized that the Islamic Republic will continue to break international bans on the construction of ballistic missiles. Much of this missile work, like the details of Iran's advanced arsenal, remains secret, according to Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force.

Hajizadeh dismissed the threat of military action by the United States, warning that all U.S. assets and allies are in range of Iran's current missile arsenal, according to comments made Sunday in Tehran and recorded by Iran's state-controlled Fars News Agency.

The threats of attack on the United States were issued as Iran unveiled new high-tech torpedoes and the formation of a joint war room along with Russia, Syria, and Iraq.(Read more)

- Father, we ask that you remove the blinders and silence the foolishness among our leaders that Iran is not our avowed foe in the Middle East, and of your people Israel. Father, may it not take Iran making good on its threats to wake us up, but even then, may our leaders wake up to their clear, obvious, hidden-in-plain-sight intentions.

- "Arise, O God, plead Your own cause; Remember how the foolish man reproaches You daily." (Psalm 74:22)

3. With Russia's Dep. Army Chief due in Israel, Moscow posts 64 S-300 ship-to-air missiles off Syria, N. Israel - DEBKAfile

Russia's deputy chief of staff, Gen. Nikolay Bogdanovsky, accompanied by a large military delegation, arrives in Israel for a two-day visit on Tuesday, Oct. 6, to discuss increased coordination between the two militaries. However, Moscow seems to be sending Jerusalem an altogether different message: Friday, Oct. 2, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the surprise deployment of Navy cruiser, the Moskva, armed with 64 advanced anti-aircraft missiles S-300 ship-to-air missiles opposite the Syrian coastal town of Latakia.

DEBKAfile's military sources point out that Russia, without saying so publicly, has thus created an effective no-fly zone over most of Syria, most of northern Israel, including the Golan, as well as southern Turkey, for US aircraft based there for air strikes in Syria; Cyprus, the site of British air force bases; and Jordan.

Since 2012, The Obama administration has been discussing the possibility of establishing no-fly zones in northern and southern Syria on a number of occasions, but has shelved the plan whenever a decision was imminent. Now, with one move, Moscow has imposed a no-fly zone over Syria. (Read more; includes map of region)

- Father, whoever is leading in the Middle East, we ask you to give them wisdom, and whether through intentional efforts, or through inadvertent effects, we ask You to be Israel's protection in these turbulent times. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

- "The LORD will bring the king of Assyria upon you and your people and your father's house-days that have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah." (Isaiah 7:17)

4. Russian Air Force hits 50 ISIS targets in Syria over 3 days, 'significantly' damaging militants - RT.com

The Russian Air Force has conducted more than 60 flights and bombed over 50 Islamic State targets in three days, according to Russia's top armed forces official. He added the strikes have significantly reduced the terrorists' combat capabilities. "The airstrikes were being conducted night and day from the Khmeimim airbase and throughout the whole of Syria. In three days we managed to undermine the terrorists' material-technical base and significantly reduce their combat potential," Lieutenant General Andrey Kartapolov, head of the Main Operation Directorate of the General Staff of Russia's armed forces, told reporters on Saturday. He added that according to Russian intelligence the militants are fleeing the area that was in their control. "There is panic and defection among them. About 600 mercenaries have left their positions and are trying to reach Europe," he said. (Read more)

- Precious Lord, we are mindful that the source of this information is Russian and therefore we trust that You, and You alone, are able to bring out the absolute truth about the effectiveness of the bombings being done by the Russians. We must repent that the Russian response is evidently much more effective than the weak, tepid actions of our Commander-in-Chief. We pray, instead, for wisdom for our leaders during this time of weakness and inaction.

We repent that Christians and other groups have not been rescued from ISIS by the US. We ask that Your mighty hand would bring about release of the Christians and Your voice would speak peace to the area. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

- "I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the level; then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies and the waters will overflow the secret place." (Isaiah 28:17)

5. End of ISIS? Putin 'sending 150,000 soldiers to Syria to WIPE OUT evil Islamic State' - Express.co.UK

The Russian leader Putin is reportedly mounting an enormous military mission to take control of the terror group's stronghold of Raqqa.

The city is the self-declared capital of ISIS in Syria and is patrolled by as many as 5,000 jihadi members. Putin is set to mobilise 150,000 reservists who he conscripted into the military earlier this week.

An insider revealed: "It is very clear that Russia wants to sweep up the west of the country, taking Raqqa and all the oil and gas resources around Palmyra. "This is fast becoming a race to Raqqa - to secure the oil fields they need to cleanse the region of insurgents, and the IS capital is vital to do that."

It comes a day after Russian jets obliterated nine ISIS outposts in just 24 hours using bunker-busting bombs. (Read more)

- Lord God, if this report is true, then we do thank You that You have caused the Russian bear to enter into Syrian territory to totally destroy and obliterate this ISIS monster, that has been daily beheading Christians since they first came on the scene. On the other hand, however, this does bring Russia that much closer to Israel . . . and we are very concerned about this development. We come to You, O Mighty God, and we pray in the Spirit that only Your will shall be done in this region of the world. We do this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:" (Ezekiel 38:3,4)

6. NATO warns Russia over airspace violations as Syria airstrikes widen - Washington Post

NATO warned Russia to stay away from Turkey on Monday after the Turkish Air Force intercepted Russian warplanes that strayed into its airspace from Syria, underscoring the heightened risk of a wider conflagration as Russia escalates its intervention in the Syrian conflict.

The alliance of Western allies, to which Turkey belongs, also expressed concern over Russia's continuing military buildup in Syria, urging it to halt attacks on rebel-held areas in northwestern Syria that "led to civilian casualties and did not target Daesh," using an acronym for the Islamic State, according to a NATO statement issued after a meeting to discuss the weekend incident.

Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the Russian ambassador had informed him that the incident was a mistake, but it nonetheless contributed to the sense that Moscow's intervention in Syria had added a dangerously unpredictable new dimension to the war. (Read more; also includes map of region)

- Lord God, it is in the nature of wars that nations regularly ignore the sovereign boundaries of others, choosing instead to begin to pursue these incursions. Lord God, only You, Mighty One, are able to restrain the hands of kings if and when they are bent upon going to war. Lord God, if it is Your will that this be done now, then we ask this in the Name that is above all names, Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord. Amen and amen.

- "And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6b)

7. BREAKING! Bombshell: ISIS just hours from extinction - WND

A top terror expert says ISIS is now so weak that it could be decimated within hours.

According to a London Express report Monday evening, Russian airstrikes, unruly leadership and numerous defections have destabilized the terror organization to the point that it is no longer capable of fighting off even a small attack.

Terror analyst Dr. Afzal Ashraf told the paper that ISIS has drastically exaggerated its military power, prompting an international counterattack. Ashraf urged Western leaders to act now to wipe out the jihadi group.

The U.S. has led a coalition of airstrikes against ISIS. The New York Times reported that the coalition is preparing to open a major front in Raqqa, a city in northeastern Syria that is widely considered to be ISIS' capital. President Obama has also ordered the Pentagon to provide weapons to Syrian rebel groups. (Read more) A top terror expert says ISIS is now so weak that it could be decimated within hours.

We have cried out to You for deliverance from the beast of ISIS, and You are now answering our prayers . . . in Your own way. Abba, in the midst of this turmoil, we continue to place a line of the Blood of the Lamb between Syria and Israel, asking You to keep Your people safe from harm. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

The Daily Brief

1. Chaos in Congress: House of Representatives a Mess as Boehner Charts Pathway to His Resignation - Breitbart

Elections for new Speaker to be held on October 29th The House of Representatives is a hot mess coming off the announcement that House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) will resign his position-and from Congress-at the end of the month.

A little more than a week ago, Boehner announced he'll step down on Oct. 30. At first, it seemed as if his heir apparent House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) would easily ascend into the speakership and that House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) would easily replace McCarthy, and Chief Deputy Whip Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) would easily ascend into the Whip's role. Now, one of that seems easy or likely as the growing conservative wing of the conference-emboldened by Boehner's resignation-is demanding a series of structural reforms to the way business in done in Congress rather than just a reshuffling of the deck in leadership post-Boehner.

"Speaker John Boehner is considering delaying the internal election for House majority leader and majority whip, leaving only the party vote for speaker to be decided on Thursday, according to multiple Republican sources with direct knowledge of the deliberations," Politico's Jake Sherman, John Bresnahan and Lauren French report. (Read more)

- Father, we ask that there would be freedom and wisdom among members as they consider and select the next Speaker of the House, and decide on other leaders and the framework in which they intend to operate. We ask that you would pave the way for a House that effectively governs for your glory by punishing those who do evil and praising those who do good. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

- "Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you." (Deuteronomy 1:13)

2. Boehner: House to vote for speaker Oct. 29, other jobs after - CNSNews.com

Speaker John Boehner on Monday scheduled the House election to replace him for Oct. 29 and delayed votes for lower-level posts until after that - a move widely seen as benefiting his preferred successor, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy. House Republicans, reeling and divided in the aftermath of Boehner's resignation last month, had planned to vote Thursday by secret ballot for a new leadership team. But a number of members wanted more time to weigh their options and pursue rule changes. Under the new plan, Thursday's vote will only be on the GOP's nominee for speaker. It will be followed by a floor vote in the full House on Oct. 29. It will then be up to the new speaker to set an elections date for lower-level GOP posts from majority leader on down. The speaker is the only job in the House that's voted on by members of both parties in open session; the other jobs are selected internally by the party caucuses.

- Father, we thank You for the wisdom of following this "one step at a time" process to choose and install all levels of leadership that will govern over this body. May every member judge each candidate for each position from the perspective of Your Throne, and may the new governing structure in the House of Representatives be one that reflects Your Glory. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen and amen.

- "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." (Proverbs 29:2)

3. Pro-life groups are optimistic about a post-Boehner House - World Magazine

"Life is fragile," Republican John Boehner said during brief remarks when he was sworn in as the 61st speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives in January 2011. "All is on loan-including this gavel."

Boehner's tumultuous life as the nation's third-most-powerful elected official will come to an end when he resigns in October. Many conservatives danced on his political grave-blasting him for what they called his failed leadership-but the pro-life community mostly mourned his passing. "I do think he's the most pro-life speaker that we've had," Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, told me. "During his time as speaker we've seen an unprecedented level of pro-life activity."

The tea party conservatives who instigated Boehner's ouster did not immediately have a ringleader to put forward in the leadership races, so they may settle for securing concessions on key issues such as the Export-Import Bank. (McCarthy previously said he favors allowing the bank to expire.) McCarthy's ascension may make immigration reform slightly more likely-his district includes Silicon Valley-but overall his tenure is unlikely to differ significantly from Boehner's. That will leave many tea party conservatives unsatisfied, but for pro-life groups, consistency is a good thing.

"I am optimistic that we will continue in a very strong pro-life direction," Dannenfelser said. "But our motto has become 'trust but verify.'" (Read more)

- Father, leaders come and go, issues remain unresolved, and Your Word endures forever. We ask that as some things change and others remain the same, that you would raise up leadership inside and outside Congress to move our nation closer to You and toward building our lives and our nation on Your Word. - "Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth." (Jeremiah 33:6)

4. Obama Goes Beyond Mere Gun Control, Hints at Confiscation - Breitbart

In the mid-1990s Australia and Great Britain both instituted what were virtually complete bans on firearm possession.

Obama referenced the bans thus: "We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings. Friends of ours, allies of ours - Great Britain, Australia, countries like ours. So we know there are ways to prevent it."

And Obama is not the only one who suggested taking a gun-free approach to American life. . . (Read more)

- Our Father, in the name of Jesus, we come strongly against this attempt to rob Americans of their Constitutional right to keep and bear arms! We thank You that the Second Amendment guarantees us the right to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government, as experienced by our Founding Fathers. We ask You to personally step in to prevent our country from falling into a fearful nation of passive citizens. Thank You that You have the power to stop this action spoken in pride and desire for control. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

- "When I said, 'This far you may come, but no farther, and here your proud waves must stop!'" (Job 38:11)

5. Oregon Politician Tells Whole Country What It Should Do After Shooting- Obama Didn't Get The Message . . .   -  Western Journalism

An Oregon state representative, who served over 29 years as a state police officer, is disappointed with the anti-gun rhetoric by President Obama and others following Thursday's campus shooting in his state.

In remarks Thursday night after the shooting, Obama said: "This is something we should politicize," adding that it is "a political choice that we make to allow [these shootings] to happen every few months in America."

Olson added: "There'll come another day when we can take a look and evaluate and assess what has happened and what to do as a state here in Oregon to maybe better improve our gun rights, without infringing what we're doing with the Second Amendment."

He believes that the shooting at Umpqua Community College necessitates a review of the school's policy of having an unarmed security guard and whether those students and others who have a conceal carry license should be allowed to bring their weapons on campus. "What is wrong with having a security guard carrying a firearm? We don't know." (Read more)

- Abba Father, we lift up praise that this Oregon politician clearly states a logical question of what is needed, when he asked "What is wrong with having a security guard carrying a firearm? We don't know." May this kind of response be clearly heard by those in positions of power and enacted, praying this in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

- "But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another." (Psalm 75:7 NKJV)

6. 'Down we went': Several hurt after Amtrak derailment in central Vermont - Fox News

At least seven people were reported hurt, one seriously, after an Amtrak train derailed in central Vermont, sending some cars plunging down a steep embankment. Investigators say the train hit a rockslide.

Passenger Bob Redmond says he was taking a scenic tour of the autumn leaves when the cars started tipping and "down we went." Riders say they broke windows and helped others out after the crash. Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin said there was no sign of negligence from the train's crew. (Read more)

- We praise You, Father, that no one lost their life in this accident. We pray that all will recover from this trauma and any injuries sustained in this derailment. Thank You, also, for the helpful attitude of the passengers in helping each other to safety. We are grateful that we worship such a Great God who is able to keep people alive in such a crash as this. Hallelujah!

- "The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever." (Psalms 121:8)

7. Flood-Hit South Carolina Set for More Rain After Record-Setting Downpour - NBC News

South Carolina officials warned Monday afternoon that the dangers from the state's unprecedented floods were not over - and that clearing skies did not erase the threat of shifting water and unstable roads. At least 11 weather-related deaths in the Carolinas were blamed on the vast rainstorm - nine in South Carolina and two in North Carolina.

The South Carolina Office of Emergency Management said at least eight dams across the state had been breached by flood waters. Residents near Forest Acres were being urged to evacuate after the Overcreek Dam was breached shortly after 3:30 p.m. ET, Columbia City Manager Teresa Wilson said. Authorities meanwhile were concerned that water from Forest Acres could run into the Katherine dam - causing it to breach and re-inundate areas of Columbia where floodwaters had receded. (Read more)

- Oh, Lord, we cry out for the citizens of South Carolina as they recover from the devastating 1000 year floods that have caused loss of life and property. We pray that no more rain will fall in the state and that the forecast will change to dry weather.

We pray for comfort for those who have lost loved ones and for restoration for those whose homes and livelihood have been taken. We ask that You would stop the Katherine Dam from breaking and making the situation even worse. We know You hear the prayer of the faithful and have mercy on those who call on you. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

- "For Your mercy reaches to the heavens, and Your truth to the clouds." (Psalms 57:10)

Cold reality of coming persecution

The "president" is against Christianity. You can see it in his cold remarks in the wake of the Umpqua Community College shootings in Oregon. He has a long history of disrespect for Christianity. In June of 2007, he said, "Whatever we once were, we're no longer a Christian nation. At least not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, and a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers." One of his first official acts against Christianity was the release of his Department of Homeland Security's April 2009 report that depicted pro-life, pro-second amendment, pro-traditional marriage Christians as extremists. Next came his Cairo "New Beginnings" speech where he fabricated (code for "lied") history about Islam at the expense of Christianity.

He has been so obsessed with white on black crime as an issue of social justice, and black on white crime as an issue of gun control, that he has coldly, and some may say, strategically, abandoned Christian foundations in favor of divisiveness. Prayers are not enough for families of victims of mass shootings, in his mind. There has to be a politicization of their deaths. He wants to take guns away from citizens and punish police officers, even officers of color, if they are enforcing the law. Think about it, the courts have not sided with any of the cases he and his Administration have exemplified as social justice issues from Trayvon Martin to Michael Brown. Assassinations of police officers have gone unmentioned.

Now we see yet another mass murder against Christians perpetrated by someone under the influence of Nazism and/or Islam. Yes, the killer in Oregon was a mixed race (half black, half white) and had two friends on Facebook, one of which was a known Islamic terrorist. The Islamic State reportedly claimed credit for the killings. Nazism and Islamism are connected. It wasn't only the Nazis who were killing Jews in World War II--partnered with them was Islam. Not surprising then that the shooter asked his victims to stand and declare whether they were Christian, an affirmative answer meant immediate execution. All the "president" could talk about was how Americans needed to give up their guns.

The "president's" response is appalling and offensive. More offensive is the mass killing of Christians in Iraq and other areas of the Middle East that this "president" has turned over to the bloodthirsty Muslims. Token bombings of the Islamic State have done nothing to prevent the barbarous acts of Islam. What does the "president" have to say about it? He lectured the National Prayer Breakfast February 5, "And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place - remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ." Jesus said in Matthew 7:20,"Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them." Here before us is the the cold reality of coming Christian persecution ushered in by America's own "president."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Obama/Putin: No Contest!

Obama/Putin: No Contest!

The buzz around Washington, D.C., is that we are entering a new cold war with Russia. My response: Don't worry! Be Happy! There is no new cold war. To have a cold war, two sides must realize they have conflicting interests and each must want their interests to prevail and be willing to compete.

As of now, Russia, under President Vladimir Putin, understands that. But he has no opposition in an America under our lame President Barack Obama. A cold war would actually be an improvement over what we have now, which is a global American retreat in the face of Russian and Iranian aggression.

During his Friday press conference, Obama tried to make flaccidity in the face of aggression look like strength. He was asked by one reporter to respond to critics "who say Putin is outsmarting you." Obama offered this amazing observation, "This is not a contest between the United States and Russia."

There is a germ of truth there. It is NO CONTEST when Russia acts in its own interests and Obama/Kerry/Biden retreat from defending our interests.

President Obama then went on to ask Russia "to be a responsible, effective actor on the international stage" and "share burdens with us." Yes, he seriously said that as Russian bombers were pummeling U.S.-backed rebel groups trying to oust Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

Lenin once famously said, "Thrust with the bayonet until you hit steel." The Putin ancillary is, "I will thrust as long as I hit mush." It is going to be a long 16 months. (Gary Bauer)

Putin To Invade Syria?

Putin To Invade Syria?

Late last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued orders drafting 150,000 troops. Today there are unconfirmed reports that those forces are headed to Syria for a massive ground campaign to destroy ISIS.

Putin reportedly plans to retake Raqqa -- the self-declared capital of the Islamic State in Syria. One unnamed source suggested Putin may also be moving to seize control of "oil and gas resources around Palmyra."

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had wiped out an Islamic State headquarters using bunker-busting bombs. Think about that for a moment. It has been more than a year since President Obama announced military strikes against ISIS.

How is it that there was an Islamic State headquarters for Russia to bomb? Shouldn't our bombing campaigns have already destroyed it? Unfortunately, the bureaucrat-led campaign against ISIS has our military fighting with one hand tied behind its back.

Don't miss the message that is being delivered in the Middle East and around the rest of the world. Look at the difference between what Obama says and what Putin does. Have you read anything about the U.S. deploying bunker-busting bombs in the fight against ISIS? Russia's bunker-busting bombs aren't just blowing up the terrorists' headquarters. They are also blowing up America's credibility. (Gary Bauer)

Planned Parenthood Takes A Hit

Planned Parenthood Takes A Hit

I know many pro-life conservatives are frustrated by Congress' failure to defund Planned Parenthood. But here's some good news: The reputation of the radical pro-abortion group has taken a big hit.

Quinnipiac University has measured Planned Parenthood's popularity over the past three years. In 2012, 55% of voters had a favorable opinion of Planned Parenthood, while just 22% viewed it unfavorably -- a 33-point gap.

Today, that gap has narrowed to just five points: Only 43% of voters have a favorable view of Planned Parenthood, while 38% view it unfavorably.

Clearly, we are winning the public debate, and that is an important first-step toward defunding the nation's largest abortion business. (Gary Bauer)

FRC Launches Bus Tour

In the Eye of the Tigers . . .

Our "Don't Fund Planned Parenthood Bus Tour" is underway! This afternoon, the tour kicked off on Campus of the Clemson Tigers in South Carolina. In addition to Arina Grossu, the Director of Family Research Council's Center for Human Dignity, and Kristina Hernandez with Students for Life of America, we were joined by State Rep. Garry Smith, State Rep. Donna Hicks, a representative from the office of Congressman Jeff Duncan, and the President of Students for Life's Clemson chapter.

Planned Parenthood targets college students, but many are not aware of the organization's horrendous business practices. The rally was held in the heart of the Clemson campus and we were able to raise awareness not just at the rally, but with the many of the students who passed by the Planned Parenthood Project Display. It included 897 crosses -- the number of abortions Planned Parenthood commits each day. The team was able to engage many college students in conversation and equip them with the facts. Many had heard about the recent controversy but had not seen the Planned Parenthood videos.
After hearing the conversations, one woman came up and shared her personal story. Her doctors strongly urged her to abort because of a medical condition and told her that even if she gave birth, her child would have genetic abnormalities and she herself could go blind or even die. She made the courageous decision to carry the baby as long as she could. She gave birth at 30 weeks to a healthy baby boy and she had no complications! Tomorrow, the tour will bring the Planned Parenthood Project to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill! (Family Research Council)

FBI Warning

ADVISORY

Christian Churches and Schools Take IMMEDIATE Steps given FBI warnings see steps below . . .

The FBI is cautioning schools in the Pennsylvania and the U.S. eastern coastal region to be particularly vigilant. Law enforcement is urging us to report any suspicious activity. Pastors and school personnel responsible for securing congregants, students, and employees should be particularly vigilant and review their security plans.

SITUATIONAL UPDATE

Given the recent incident in Roseburg OR, where ten people were killed in a targeted attack on Christians on Monday Oct 1, and the potential threat on social media for copycat incidents the FBI is cautioning schools in the Pennsylvania and the U.S. eastern coastal region to be particularly vigilant. Law enforcement is urging us to report any suspicious activity.

Pastors and school personnel responsible for securing congregants, students, and employees should be particularly vigilant and review their security plans. While there is no known specific threat to Christian churches or schools at this time nationwide, the FBI warning should give rise to be ready "to give an answer for the Hope within us" according to I Peter 3:15. And, being ready means spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically.

Special Prayer Requests

Prayer Requests from Intercessors for Congressman Doug Lamborn

- Please pray that in the upcoming House leadership elections Republican leaders who are elected are God fearing believers in traditional values. Pray that they are social, fiscal and national security conservatives. Kevin McCarthy is the presumed next Speaker of the House. This will then cause a domino effect for his Majority Leader position and on down the line. The Republican caucus is currently splintered into factions. Some of this is based on ideology and some on personal ambition. Please pray for supernatural unity for the good of the country.

- Please pray that the current lack of budget stability in Washington does not result in damage to our nation's security. We need a higher degree of fiscal responsible spending plans to work with despite any objections from President Obama and his Democrat followers in the Senate. A continuing resolution was just passed that will keep the government running until mid December. At that point we will need a budget.

The House has passed six of the 12 appropriation bills need for a budget. The Senate has passed none. If the Senate would set aside the filibuster rule (which is not required in the Constitution but is only a tradition) they could pass an appropriation bill with 51 votes. There are 54 Republicans in the Senate. As it stands now with the filibuster rule in place 60 votes are need to pass a budget bill. This will never happen.

On top of everything else the debt ceiling is about to be reached. There is no backbone to cut spending so we, as a country, will continue to go deeper in debt.

- Please pray for Israel as they are being more and more cut off and alone in the world. This includes our own Secretary of State John Kerry and U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power not showing up for Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu's recent speech to the U. N. General Assembly. Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu as he deals with the recent stabbings in the Old City and shooting near Itamar. And now, a Monday morning Israeli bombing attack which struck a Hamas terror sight. This in response to a Palestinian rocket being fired into southern Israel. He needs God's wisdom.
- Please pray for Christians and others in the middle east who are being persecuted and threatened by ISIS and other terrorist groups. Pray that they can be a strong witness for Christ.

Our Grandmothers' Songs

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:

BLEST BE THE TIE THAT BINDS

"I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love." (Hosea 11:4)

Lyrics

Blest be the tie that binds Our hearts in Christian love; The fellowship of kindred minds Is like to that above.

Before our Father's throne We pour our ardent prayers; Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one Our comforts and our cares.

We share each other's woes, Our mutual burdens bear; And often for each other flows The sympathizing tear.

When we asunder part, It gives us inward pain; But we shall still be joined in heart, And hope to meet again.

This glorious hope revives Our courage by the way; While each in expectation lives, And longs to see the day.

From sorrow, toil and pain, And sin, we shall be free, And perfect love and friendship reign Through all eternity.

About the Hymn:

Dr. John Fawcett was the pastor of a small church at Wainsgate, and was called from there to a larger church in London in 1772. He accepted the call and preached his farewell sermon. The wagons were loaded with his books and furniture, and all was ready for the departure, when his parishioners gathered around him, and with tears in their eyes begged of him to stay. His wife said, "Oh John, John, I cannot bear this." "Neither can I," exclaimed the good pastor, "and we will not go. Unload the wagons and put everything as it was before." His decision was hailed with great joy by his people, and he wrote the words of this hymn in commemoration of the event. This song, and "God be with you until we meet again," are the most useful farewell hymns in the world.

Signs and Wonders

'WATER-BASED LAVA' ON PLUTO'S MOON?

Pluto's moon Charon is so large that some astronomers have called the Pluto-Charon pair a "double-planet system." Indeed, images now arriving from the New Horizons spacecraft prove Charon to be just as interesting as Pluto itself. For example, there is a canyon system stretching more than 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) across the entire face of Charon and likely around onto Charon's far side. Four times as long as the Grand Canyon, and twice as deep in places, these faults and canyons indicate a titanic geological upheaval in Charon's past.

"It looks like the entire crust of Charon has been split open," says John Spencer, a member of the New Horizons Science Team from the Southwest Research Institute. "With respect to its size relative to Charon, this feature is much like the vast Valles Marineris canyon system on Mars."

The pictures also show plains south of the Charon's canyon with fewer large craters than regions to the north. This means the southern plains are younger. The smoothness of the plains, as well as their grooves and faint ridges, are clear signs of wide-scale resurfacing.

One possibility for the smooth surface is a kind of cold volcanic activity, called cryovolcanism. "The team is discussing the possibility that an internal water ocean could have frozen long ago, and the resulting volume change could have led to Charon cracking open, allowing water-based lavas to reach the surface," says Paul Schenk, a New Horizons team member from the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston. More images and data are in the offing as New Horizons continues to transmit data, stored on its digital recorders, over the next year. As that happens, "I predict Charon's story will become even more amazing!" says mission Project Scientist Hal Weaver, of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Stay tuned.
