U.S. Government Looks to "Include Matters of Religious Freedom" in Relations with India - Asia News
The US government should "include the matter of religious freedom as part of the bilateral Strategic Dialogue between India and the USA," said Sajan George, president of the Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC). Speaking to AsiaNews, he expressed full support for a bipartisan resolution presented yesterday by two members of the US Congress. Keith Ellison, Democrat, and Joe Pitts, a Republican, sponsored the motion in which they express "concern" for attacks on religious freedom in India, an issue that must "be included in the United States-India Strategic Dialogue".

The GCIC, an organisation that report cases of persecution against minorities, judges in a positive way the initiative by the two US politicians. For its president, Sajan George, this is an opportunity to get "Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and other Indian states with anti-conversion laws to repeal such legislation and ensure freedom to practice, propagate, and profess ones' religion as enshrined in the Indian constitution."

In particular, the "GCIC in conjunction with the resolution urges all political parties and religious organisations to publicly oppose the exploitation of religious differences and denounce harassment and violence against religious minorities, especially in the run-up to India's general elections in 2014.

In a historic development, 15 US Congressmen called on the Obama administration to have "religious freedom and related human rights to be included in the United States-India Strategic Dialogue".

The resolution also highlights the "divisive and violent agenda" of the Hindu nationalist movement that "has harmed the social fabric of India", which is "contrary to the tolerant and pluralistic traditions of the Hindu faith".

Commending the US administration in placing a visa ban on Narendra Modi, the resolution acknowledges that under Mr Modi's rule in Gujarat, "minorities have suffered horrific violence, as well as attacks on their religious freedom through draconian anti-conversion laws".

In addition to the GCIC, the US resolution was backed by several groups, including the Coalition Against Genocide (CAG), a group of more than 40 organisations representing overseas Indians, including Hindus.

The Daily Jot

The president's deadly partner

The President has opened the doors for a groundbreaking foreign policy partner to establish itself in the United States. This partner has been instrumental in the Administration's plans across the Middle East, especially in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and, now, Syria. The US has funneled millions of hard earned tax dollars to support this foreign policy partner in advancing the Administration's goals. Now, it's offices in Kentucky were revealed by ABC News. They contain explosives, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and ammunition to be sent to the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq--to kill American soldiers. The offices are a self storage stall in Bowling Green and the partner is al Qaeda.

ABC News reports the FBI has revealed: "Several dozen suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some believed to have targeted American troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the United States as war refugees." The Department of Homeland Security told ABC News that the US government is continuously improving its vetting procedures on immigrants and refugees. But in testimony before the House, a DHS senior official said that the Kentucky al Qaeda members names and fingerprints were checked by the FBI, the DHS and the Defense Department and they "came in clean." At first, DHS defended it's procedure. Then it said it was improving its procedure. Then it said it was a mistake.

But is it really a mistake? Or did the FBI just happen into something that this Administration was systematically allowing? It is widely documented that the White House was in league with al Qaeda in Libya, for example, when the Arab Spring was in full swing. Through the Muslim Brotherhood, also documented as having agents appointed to high places in the Department of Homeland Security, the Pentagon and State Department (remember Huma Abedin under Hillary Clinton?), al Qaeda is positioned as a foreign policy partner of the president. Al Qaeda is in the strange role of being a killer of American soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq, and a killer of American enemies in Libya, Tunisia, and Syria.
In January 2012, WorldNetDaily reported that there were 35 terrorist training camps across the US on hundreds of purchased or leased acres where organizations like Jamaat ul-Fuqra (Muslims in America) conduct "the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare," according to it's leader Sheikh Mubarak Gilani. Yet the State Department refuses to designate the organization as a terrorist group. What next, al Jazeera--the foremost terrorist propaganda arm--will become a credentialed news network in America? Oh, excuse me. That has already happened. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Something is terribly amiss, and it all points to the White House.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Reid Announces Effort to Expand Iran Sanctions

Senate Majority Leader Announces Effort to Expand Iran Sanctions

Press Release Issued by AIPAC: The American Israel Public Affairs Committee

Just a few minutes ago, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced a bipartisan initiative to impose new sanctions on Iran. We welcome this announcement. The full text of Senator Reid's announcement is included below in this message.

This announcement, and the subsequent bill, is an important statement about the resolve of Senate Democrats and Republicans to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapons capability.

Like all Americans, we hope the administration's efforts lead to a diplomatic resolution of this matter. . . .

. . . A nuclear weapons capable Iran is a grave threat to American national security and to that of our allies around the world. As the Majority Leader said this morning, we must ensure that the President has the tools he needs to effectively press Iran to end its nuclear weapons program. . .
. . .We will work with bipartisan Senate leaders to achieve that objective.

We want to thank you for your continued support of AIPAC and wish you and your family a very meaningful Thanksgiving and a Happy Hanukkah.

Sincerely,

Michael Kassen
AIPAC President

BREAKING NEWS: Reid Goes Nuclear

BREAKING NEWS: Reid Goes Nuclear

Moments ago, Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid invoked a parliamentary maneuver to change the Senate rules and restrict the rights of the minority party. Under normal Senate procedure, it requires a super-majority of 67 votes to change the Senate rules. But the tactic Reid deployed today is so controversial, it is known as the "nuclear option."

In fact, three Democrats voted with all 45 Republicans to oppose the rules change. But with 52 votes, Reid prevailed.

It wasn't that long ago when Republicans controlled the Senate. Frustrated by liberal Democrats who were repeatedly blocking conservative nominees, they threatened to do the same thing. Liberals and their media allies howled with outrage at the GOP's disrespect of minority rights and its alleged abuse of power.

My advice to Senate conservatives: Do not allow the Senate to conduct any business until this is corrected!

Sure, there will be criticism for shutting down the Senate and blocking votes. But Harry Reid is not allowing votes on legislation he does not like, such as the House-passed bill allowing individuals to keep the health insurance plans they like.

This vote is just the latest manifestation of the left's growing intolerance and its willingness to ignore, bend and break rules it finds inconvenient. Obama didn't like the Defense of Marriage Act, so he just ignored it. He didn't like our immigration laws, so he changed them. When parts of Obamacare started to cause trouble, Obama unilaterally altered them.

To the left, the ends justify the means. Harry Reid broke the Senate rules in order to make it easier for Obama to pack the courts with more left-wing judicial activists. (Gary Bauer)

The Good News Corner:

Texas Values Launches 'Merry Christmas Texas' Project
to Protect Christmas in Public Schools

This week, Texas Values announced the launch of the "Merry Christmas Texas" project, a state-wide effort to educate and protect the acknowledgement of Christmas in public schools and ensure the religious liberty of children, parents, teachers, and school administrators. The new effort builds upon the Merry Christmas Law (HB 308), authored by State Representative Dwayne Bohac, that was passed with bipartisan support by the Texas Legislature and was signed into law earlier this year.

At MerryChristmasTexas.com, Texans can educate themselves about their rights under the Merry Christmas Law and engage on this issue by downloading a summary of the law and sharing with their school district, signing a petition in support of the effort, and reporting how their schools are acknowledging Christmas.
"We hope our Merry Christmas Texas effort will educate millions of Texas public school students and parents and our over 1,200 school districts of their protections under the Merry Christmas Law," said Jonathan Saenz, attorney and president of Texas Values. "It's time to end the war on Christmas and end the fear caused by political correctness. This common sense law provides a solid roadmap for public school officials to follow and should help school districts respect First Amendment rights and avoid costly litigation," concluded Saenz.
Christmas has been recognized as a federal holiday by the United States since the 1870's. Landmark U.S. Supreme Court cases have made it clear that such expressions and displays are permissible. In recent years, Texas school districts have seen long and costly court cases over Christmas expressions in Plano and Katy, and controversy in Fort Worth over a Santa Claus appearance.
