The Daily Brief

1. Security officials on the ground in Libya challenge CIA account - Fox News

Despite a carefully narrated version of events rolled out late this week by the CIA claiming agents jumped into action as soon as they were notified of calls for help in Benghazi, security officials on the ground say calls for help went out considerably earlier -- and signs of an attack were mounting even before that.

- Lord, may truthfulness come forth on the Benghazi tragedy. May what is still hidden come to light and those with a lying tongue be held accountable. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment. (Proverbs 12:19)

2. UN Security Council forced to relocate after storm - Jerusalem Post

The UN Security Council will meet later on Wednesday to discuss Somalia and other issues, but it has been forced to relocate because of water damage to parts of the United Nations complex from the storm Sandy, diplomats said.

- Lord, we pray for the UN Security Council, that Your light will come to shine on them. Awake. Arise. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light." (Ephesians 5:13-14)

3. Lights in lower Manhattan, misery in outer regions - AP

The lights were back on Saturday in lower Manhattan, prompting screams of sweet relief from residents who had been plunged into darkness for nearly five days by Superstorm Sandy. But that joy contrasted with deepening resentment in the city's outer boroughs and suburbs over a continued lack of power and maddening gas shortages.

b.) New York faces 'massive housing problem' after Sandy, governor says - CNN

Officials say thousands of New Yorkers left without heat after Superstorm Sandy might need to leave their homes as temperatures plummet, but it's not clear where they'll go.

- Lord, our hearts and prayers go forth over those who are in misery. Lord, may You guide them to the true Light, which is You. Guide the steps of those who are now homeless, and those who are stepping out to assist them. Light the paths that have been in darkness we pray. Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon them. In the name of Jesus we ask. Amen.

- There are many who say, "Who will show us any good?" Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. (Psalm 4:6)

4. Rivals stress differences and bipartisanship hopes - AP

Two days from judgment by the voters, President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney raced across competitive battleground states on Sunday, stressing differences on the economy, health care and more while professing a willingness to work across party lines to end gridlock in Washington.

- Lord, let the lying tongues be silenced and the spirit of truth arise. Let there be truth, righteousness, and discernment as we move into solving these problem areas in our country. May there come a unity under You, Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- He who speaks truth declares righteousness, but a false witness deceit. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health. (Proverbs 12:17-18)

1. Strike on Sudan arms factory points to Iran threat to Israel - Washington Times

Sudan's longtime ties to Iran -- and the two nations roles in arming Islamic militants -- have come under scrutiny in the wake of an explosion at a Khartoum weapons factory, blamed on an Israeli airstrike, and the dockings of two Iranian warships at a Sudanese port.

2. Israel invests millions in drive for elite 'cyber warriors' - UK Telegraph

Nothing more to say, much to do

I don't think there is much more to say about this election or your civic duty to act. Throughout the Bible, there are many examples where YHVH's people, as a nation, had bad leaders and suffered much as the consequence. There were times when there were good leaders and the people prospered. There seems to be this individualistic, self-centered gospel that is being preached that your relationship with YHVH is the only thing that matters and the rest of what is going on really is of no import. Certainly your relationship with YHVH through the Messiah is the most important one of your life, but as life is complex, so is YHVH. It is not an either/or kind of thing.

Your actions have impact. They will have great impact today. Only a loving god would choose to act through His people as does YHVH. Ever notice how you can pray and pray about something, but when you act in accordance with that prayer, it becomes answered before your eyes? Ever notice how our Father in Heaven sees and knows our needs and supplies them? There is no place in the Bible that says "God helps those who help themselves." But there are many examples where YHVH works through men and women who take that first step of faith. Hebrews Chapter 11 is full of examples. Name after name is mentioned from Abraham through David--all had faith; all took some action. Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through the Messiah which strengthens me."

I have heard all the arguments about why we as Christians should not vote. You do what you will. But I know this in my heart of hearts--this is my very personal opinion--we do not have ideal candidates from a Christian world view. Nonetheless, we do have a clear distinction. Yes, I know all the globalist underpinnings of both, and recognize them for what they are. Here's the thing: YHVH will choose the leader. He will work through each of us to do so. He knows our hearts. He knows what we deserve. He is merciful beyond measure. Yes, evil is evil. There is the type of evil that cannot be redeemed; and there is evil that can be redeemed. We have seen the heart of the former. We have not, the latter.
It has got to start somewhere. We as a nation, as a people, are on a downward spiral. As Christians, we are the light of the world, the salt of the earth. As Yeshua said in Matthew 5:13, "...but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." YHVH said in Ezekiel 22:30, "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." I know that there are going to be a lot of Christians writing me today justifying their action or inaction or chastising me for encouraging political action. Fine. I will stand before the LORD for my actions. So will you.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Prophetic destiny and the challenge ahead

The prophetic destiny of America is in the hands of its own people as election day approaches. Proverbs 29:2 says, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn." This proverb is becoming the anthem for the United States. Irrespective of how the election turns out, there will be more of the same--more debt, more war, more immorality, more homosexuality, more abortion, more pornography, more whatever. Blaming it on our leaders somehow shifts the responsibility from We the People. Election Day will change little. If the incumbent is reelected, he promises more the same. If not, one man cannot undo the American people. There will be mourning.

Only the American people can undo what we collectively have become. Where is the "Church" in all of this? Quite frankly, the mythical church in America is so wrapped around self indulgent, extra biblical and even New Age teachings that people have become so "heavenly minded" they are rarely any "earthly good." Otherwise, we would not have the sub-par candidates from which to choose. There is much banter back and forth on what is "Godly" to do--vote, not vote; be involved politically, not be involved; social agenda, moral agenda; and so on. The vast majority of the "church" is engaged in some sort of ideological subversion where even well meaning Christians can no longer discern Bible from man.

So-called prophets with dreams and proclamations and declarations that have not one jot or tittle of Biblical grounding tickle the ears of people. "Reverends" use the Bible as if it is some dead historic document, disregarding any influence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. There is rarely truth being preached or practiced on either end of the spectrum. Those who do are looked upon by their fellow Christians as radicals, often ostracized by the legalists and the charismatics alike--both considering their own brand of "Jesus" rather than the true Word of YHVH. As Yeshua said in Luke 11:17, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls." We have become bipolar.
We as the "Church" must change. As 1 Peter 4:17 says, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of YHVH: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of YHVH?" We as followers of the Messiah are deep into a prophetic crossroads. Will we discard the chains of deception and bondage that imprison us and take up the garment of truth? Will we not think that prayer is our only action? Will we know the truth by our own study rather than stand on the vain words of deceivers? Will we become a people known like those in Acts 17:6 who "turned the world upside down"? It is our response to this challenge that will determine our prophetic destiny and the destiny of this nation.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

"[Jesus said] 'I am the Vine and you are the branches' The branches from Pakistan will be continually praying for you." -Ashfaq Fateh

(Toba Tek Singh, Pakistan)-Pakistani Christians are praying for the safety of Americans who were affected by Hurricane Sandy as it bore down on the Eastern Seaboard's largest cities Monday, October 29, 2012, forcing the shutdown of mass transit, schools and financial markets.

Pakistan praying for America This was revealed in a message sent to the ASSIST News Service by Ashfaq Fateh, a Pakistani Christian leader who has been working to promote peace, human rights and particularly for Christians' rights in his country.

"Sixty million is very big population and we, the brothers and sister in Pakistan, are worried for the situation in your country. We have been facing nonstop floods for the last three years and we can imagine how difficult it is to survive without shelter, food, medication and schooling for the young.

"So at this moment, we assure you that we shall be praying for your great people to be protected.

" Mr. Fateh quoted Jesus as saying, "I am the Vine and you are the branches" and added, "The 'branches' from Pakistan will be continually praying for you. Please keep us informed about your safety."

Mr. Fateh would welcome updates from people affected by the huge story at: ashfaq.fateh@gmail.com so he also can pray for you.
