1. NYC TERROR PLOT UNCOVERED

More information was released over the weekend about the FBI's foiling of an imminent terrorist attack in New York City. While it is great news that we caught these men, there is still reason for concern. All of the men are U.S. citizens. And the New York imam was reportedly an informant with the New York Police Department. But, according to various reports, the imam tipped off the Zazis that they were under investigation. This means that our enemies have successfully infiltrated the New York Police Department and could possibly have other people on the inside misleading the police.

The FBI still has not discovered all of the details about this plot, which has only intensified the investigation. There is growing evidence that our enemies are increasing their efforts to attack us. (Gary Bauer; End-of- Day; 9/21/09)

2. ISLAM ON CAPITOL HILL

On September 25, New Jersey Muslims hope to muster 50,000 Muslims to Washington, D.C. to "pray for the soul of America ." Organizer Hassen Abdellah says it was "President Obama's words at his inauguration... and then his speech in Egypt" that led him and Imam Abdul Malik to consider the idea. "The personality for this event is the prophet Muhammad," Hassan says. "The Athan will be chanted on Capitol Hill, echoing off of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument... OUR TIME HAS COME!"

- May God equip pastors and committed Christians to minister Christ to their Muslim neighbors, and may He enable our fellow citizens to understand how essential the Judeo-Christian foundation of our nation truly is.

3. ACORN IN THE NEWS

a. CENSUS BUREAU SEVERS TIES WITH ACORN IN 2010 COUNT

The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with ACORN, a community organization that has been hit with Republican accusations of voter-registration fraud. "We do not come to this decision lightly," Census director Robert Groves wrote in a letter to ACORN, which was obtained by The Associated Press. In splitting with ACORN, Groves sought to tamp down GOP concerns and negative publicity that the partnership will taint the 2010 head count. "It is clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts," Groves wrote. (The Associated Press)

- This news, barely noticed by the MSM (mainstream media), has huge implications for (among other things) elections in the future. Congressional districts are often "realigned" based upon the data provided by the Census, and the politics of that district then shifts with the reported "population."

Pray for a CLEAN and a TRUE COUNT in next year's census, and offer praise that this very suspicious organization - ACORN - has now lost its control of the process.

b. UPDATE: HOUSE, SENATE VOTE TO CUT OFF ALL FUNDING FOR ACORN

Fear of losing reelection next year caused 172 Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives to stampede to vote against one of their key left-wing groups, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform (ACORN.) The vote to defund ACORN was: 345 to 75 with 2 Members voting "present." All Republican Congressmen voted to deny all government funding to ACORN.

In the Senate, the final vote on Senator Mike Johanns' tougher amendment Senator Johanns, a Republican from Nebraska, introduced much tougher language defunding all funds from ACORN because of new ACORN criminal activity revelations by the two young documentarians, James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, who broke the story during this past week. In the Senate, the final vote on Senator Mike Johanns' tougher amendment against ACORN was 85-11 with three not voting.

Congressman Eric Cantor (R-VA,) the Republican Whip in the House of Representatives, said following the vote to cut off all funding for ACORN: "ACORN has violated serious federal laws, and today the House voted to ensure that taxpayer dollars would no longer be used to fund this corrupt organization. All federal ties should be severed with ACORN, and the FBI should investigate its activity. This united Republican effort to defund ACORN is a victory for the rule of law and taxpayers across the country." (Christian Coalition of America)

- Offer praise for another victory on Capitol Hill as pockets of corruption are identified, held accountable, and defunded. The continued action on the defunding of ACORN in the House, along with the tougher measure passed in the Senate, is a direct answer to the prayer offered in last week's OCAP. Also, please pray now for the safety of the two young people who had the courage to videotape the illegal actions in various ACORN offices. Pray!

- "He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot carry out their plans." (Job 5:12)

c. ACORN CHIEF DODGES CONGRESSMAN'S CALL TO COME BEFORE CONGRESS

ACORN's top officer on Sunday dodged repeated calls to come before Congress and testify about the embattled group's finances and ties to other organizations. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., ranking Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, had pressed chief organizer Bertha Lewis to prove her commitment to reforming the community activist group by showing more transparency. "The bottom line is there's no transparency in ACORN," Issa said on "FOX News Sunday." The pressure comes in the wake of controversy over a series of hidden-camera videotapes showing the organization's employees offering advice to undercover filmmakers posing as a pimp and prostitute. ACORN has pledged to investigate its offices and workers. "Internally, let's have some reform," Lewis said. "It's indefensible what I saw (in the tapes)." But she refused to answer Issa's request to come before his committee.

Issa challenged Lewis to provide full disclosure to Congress on the "firewalls" in place to ensure that taxpayer dollars are not going toward political activities. "There is no God-given right for any organization to receive a grant from the American people. The fact is there are organizations standing in line that wish they won instead of you, and they're giving us the transparency so we can have the confidence the money is spent only for the purpose of the grant," Issa said. - For those of us who have never lived in a third-world country, the news these days out of Washington is providing a wonderful sensitivity training in exactly that. Whatever happened to the America we once knew and loved? Pray for Congressman Issa and others in the House and the Senate as they continue to hold different authorities accountable for the use of taxpayer monies; and the upholding of ethical standards in our nation. God is looking for "a few good men" to do this; and we do have them in the Halls of Congress.

4. TWO BILLS IN HOUSE DESERVE OUR SUPPORT

- Please pray for passage of these two bills:

a) H.J. Res. 11: Only American Citizens to Be Counted in U.S. Census

H.J. Res. 11 proposes a Constitutional amendment to provide that the apportionment of the number of Congressional Representatives from each state shall be decided by counting the number of American citizens of each state. The census is mandated by the Constitution (Article I, Section 2), but the language does not specify citizenship for the purpose of counting. For the upcoming 2010 Census, the U.S. Census Bureau is set to count all persons physically present in the U.S.-including the 12 to 15 million persons here illegally.

b) H.R. 1868: The Birthright Citizenship Act of 2009

H.R. 1868 would clarify that a person born in the United States would only be eligible for American citizenship if the child is born in the United States of parents who are citizens or here legally, or if the parent is performing active service in the armed forces. There are an estimated 300,000 "anchor babies," or children born to illegal aliens, each year in the United States.

5. H.R.45 - BLAIR HOLT'S FIREARM LICENSING AND RECORD OF SALE ACT

To provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes. Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:

- It is registered -You are fingerprinted - You supply a current Driver's License -You supply your Social Security # -You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing - Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25 - Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.

- There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18. -They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

(This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it. This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not. If you take my gun, only the criminal will have one to use against me. HR 45 only makes me/us less safe.)

- Tell everyone you know about this bill in the House, a bill that has no sponsors yet. This bill is a direct violation of the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution - the right to bear arms. This Amendment is not out-of- date, for our Founding Fathers understood that an unarmed citizenry ultimately may allow a king/dictator to gain total power. Ask the Lord to cause this bill to be aborted, not to be manipulated into passage.

- "He teaches my hands to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze." (2 Samuel 22:35)

6. HEARING SET FOR EMPLOYMENT NON- DISCRIMINATION ACT (ENDA)

The House Committee on Education and Labor is holding a hearing on the Employment Non- Discrimination Act (ENDA) on September 23. ENDA is a pro-homosexual, pro-drag queen/transsexual bill that will force employers with 15 or more employees to cater to the desires of gays, bisexuals, drag queens, cross- dressers, and transsexuals. The legislation will create federally-protected status for individuals who engage in bizarre sexual behaviors and cross-dressing. It will legalize at least 30 different sexual orientations! (Traditional Values Coalition)

- Pray for an END to ENDA.

7. OBAMA NOMINATES LGBT ACTIVIST TO HEAD EEOC

President Obama has picked Chai R. Feldblum to become a member of the Employment Opportunity Commission, the federal agency which enforces workplace civil rights laws. If confirmed, she would serve 5 years on the EEOC and issue edicts that will impact all areas of employment.

She is a lesbian and has played a major role in pushing the LGBT agenda in American culture for the past 20 years. Feldblum is the primary author of the pro- gay/transsexual bill known as the Employment Non- Discrimination Act (ENDA), which is being pushed again in Congress. She is also a strategist for gay activists. She advocates the use of "incrementalism" in the achievement of the gay agenda. She wants to use incrementalism in ENDA, for example, by first covering employment and then later moving to housing and public accommodations.

She also believes that religious people who run businesses or operate other institutions have no right to deny services to gays, lesbians, bisexuals or transgendered persons. "As a general matter, once a religious person or institution enters the stream of commerce by operating an enterprise such as a doctor's office, hospital, bookstore, hotel, treatment center and so on, I believe the enterprise must adhere to a norm of nondiscrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity."

In short, she wants the gay agenda to trump the First Amendment and religious freedom to impose the gay agenda on all Americans - including those with strongly held religious beliefs about homosexuality. (Traditional Values Coalition).

- It is the job of the U.S. Senate to confirm or reject this nominee. Pray they use wisdom in this case; and ask that Ms. Feldblum be rejected to serve in this key post. PRAY!

1. DEM. HEALTH CARE BILLS IN BOTH HOUSE, SENATE WILL FUND ABORTIONS

Hyde Amendment to Be Overthrown

It is now evident that the health care reform bills coming out of both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate will indeed lead to the funding of abortions with taxpayers' hard-earned money in a majority pro-life nation. Even many who consider themselves "pro- choice" do not want tax dollars funding any abortions; indeed close to 75% of Americans do not want government-funding of abortions.

The health care bills coming out of both the House and the Senate basically override the Hyde Amendment. In the House, the Capps amendment to the Democrats' main health care bill, H.R. 3200 . . . actually authorizes the Health & Human Services Secretary to pay for abortion through the government option.

The least left-wing health care bill in the Senate, introduced yesterday by the Finance Committee Chairman, Max Baucus (D-MT,) incorporates language that is very similar to the phony Capps amendment in the House of Representatives regarding public funding of abortion. The Baucus bill provides $6 billion for the establishment of health insurance cooperatives (the forerunner to the government option which Obama and congressional leadership covet.)

The Baucus bill actually allows the mandating of certain abortions (in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother) in a minimum benefits package. If the pro- abortion industry is successful in gutting the Hyde amendment or weakening it, Senator Baucus' legislation will result in further mandated abortion coverage in the minimum benefits package. Baucus' legislation -- for the first time ever -- will allow the federal government to subsidize abortion through various accounting gimmicks. Baucus' bill does not have even one Republican co-sponsor and Americans need to make sure it remains that way. (Christian Coalition of America)

- Ask our Lord to have mercy on our people, as many of our elected officials are now moving towards the legal sanctioning of the shedding of innocent blood -- blood which will bring a curse on our land. May those who now walk in darkness in the Halls of Congress quickly find the light of Christ, that they may instead write laws that agree with the law of GOD and will instead bring a blessing to our people. Pray!

- "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 2. BAUCUS HEALTH CARE BILL: INTRODUCING TAXPAYER-FUNDED ABORTIONS

With the two main health care bills in the House and Senate already including massive funding for abortions, pro-life advocates have been carefully watching to see whether the new bill presented by Sen. Max Baucus would fund abortions as well. Early indications are that it does. Baucus, a Montana Democrat who is the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, had been working with a group of six lawmakers on the legislation but crafted the final bill on his own after losing their support.

The measure, known as America's Health Future Act, comes in at 223 pages and the committee is expected to debate the bill and amendments to it -- which will likely included proposals to ban all abortion funding -- next week. The early analysis of the bill, according to pro-life advocates on Capitol Hill who have been in touch with LifeNews.com, is that the Baucus bill incorporates language that is very similar to the phony Capps amendment to H.R. 3200. That is the amendment the House Energy and Commerce Committee adopted that President Barack Obama and abortion advocates in Congress have been using to mislead the public into thinking abortions are not covered. - Pray that our citizens, and especially our lawmakers, will "see through" the deception surrounding - this bill, because it DOES, indeed, provide for taxpayer-funded abortions. As our senators and - congressmen weigh the various aspects of this bill before voting, ask our Lord to grant each one - clarity of vision and understanding as he or she prepares to cast their vote on the Baucus bill.

3. SENATOR GRASSLEY: "WE'RE OPERATING UNDER AN ARTIFICIAL DEADLINE"

Sen. Baucus releases Finance Committee health care reform bill without GOP or liberal DEM backing.

As expected, Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) introduced his version of health care overhaul today with no Republican on his Committee supporting it and liberal Democrats critical of it. The Ranking Republican on the committee, Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) had a strong statement on the bill: "Unfortunately, we're operating under an artificial deadline set by the Democratic leadership and the White House. I'm disappointed because it looks like we're being pushed aside by the Democratic leadership so the Senate can move forward on a bill that, up to this point, does not meet the shared goals

. . . In addition to concerns about costs to taxpayers and affordability for individuals, there are still some serious outstanding issues that have yet to be resolved like preventing taxpayer funding of abortion services." The pro-life Senator also cited problems over subsidies for illegal aliens and mandates. Additionally, Senator Grassley brought up a point many negotiators are leaving out -- the White House and Democratic leadership have made no commitment to back a bipartisan bill. This has emboldened many of the Democrats on the Committee to oppose the bill as well. We will work closely with our friends on the Senate Finance Committee in an effort to amend the legislation into a more family-friendly, abortion-neutral bill. (FRC 9/16/09)

4. MEMBERS OF CONGRESS FIGHT AGAINST ABORTION FUNDING IN H.R. 3200

House Values Chairman Pitts says abortion will be funded under Democrats' health bill

Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA,) the tireless pro-life champion in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Values Action Team, is distributing a chart to his colleagues and others entitled: "Health Care Bill = Government-Funded Abortion" published by a group called StoptheAbortionMandate.com

The chart shows that because of an amendment passed into law by the former Pro-life Dean of the House of Representatives, the late Congressman Henry Hyde (R-IL), there has been no taxpayer money going to fund elective abortions. However, the Hyde Amendment is not a permanent law and has to be renewed each year. The chart also shows that abortions will be funded with American tax dollars if the Democrat bills being considered in Congress become law.

Congressman Bart Stupak, Democrat from Michigan, another pro-life champion in the U.S. House of Representatives, has been doing yeoman's work in attempting to stop the insane rush to taxpayer funding of abortions by the Democrat Party. Thus far, Congressman Stupak's amendments in committee to prevent taxpayer funding of abortions in the health care legislation have been repeatedly rebuffed by his fellow Democrats. - Lift up all members who are fighting against any government-funded abortion provisions in any health Care package on the floor of the House and the Senate. May God strengthen their hand, and cause them To find favor a majority of other members, on both sides of the aisle.

5. REP. FRANK WOLF CALLS FOR A 30-DAY REVIEW PERIOD

An issue of such complexity should not be fast tracked through Congress without the opportunity for all sides to weigh in and for bipartisan alternatives to be studied and debated. I was very concerned when the speaker of the House initially intended to bring an over 1,000-page health reform bill to the floor for a vote before the summer congressional recess. As you may know, three committees in the House - Ways and Means, Education and Labor, and Energy and Commerce - have approved amendments to the Democrats' health insurance reform legislation (H.R. 3200).

Before a bill can come to the full House for a vote, those differences will have to be reconciled to produce a single measure. The Rules Committee must set up the procedure - including whether or not the bill will be open for amendments - for members to debate the bill on the House floor. The speaker has indicated that the House will take up the bill sometime this fall.

I know there are good and reasonable people with deeply held views on every side of the health care reform issue. That's why I believe Congress needs to take its time and get health care reform legislation right. All sides need an opportunity to be heard so that a bipartisan consensus can be reached. I am cosponsoring a resolution (H.Res. 271) calling for any health care reform legislation considered by Congress to be made available online in its final form 30 days prior to being voted on in the House. I believe that every American must have the opportunity to read and understand what Congress is considering. (Office of Congressman Frank Wolf).

6. REPUBLICANS OFFER "ALTERNATIVE" HEALTH CARE PLANS OFFERED

a. Healthcare: The Conservative Alternative in the House

Perhaps the most blatant "disinformation" being promulgated in the health care debate this year is that there are only two choices for American health care: putting the federal government in charge or allowing insurance companies to run the show. While the President, congressional Democrats in charge, and, to a degree, the media have done all they can to shut out Republican ideas, the truth remains that there is a third path, a correct path.

Republicans have put forth bold ideas that can transform American health care in a positive way -- without a government takeover of medicine. Before the August recess, I joined with a number of colleagues to introduce H.R. 3400, the Empowering Patients First Act. Our solution is built upon the principle that when individuals are given control and ownership, we will achieve full access to coverage and see the entire system move in a positive, patient-centered direction. While we join in the national critique of the President's misguided proposal, we also offer positive solutions for health care reform. (Christian Coalition of America).

b. Health Care: The Conservative Alternative in the Senate

Now that the American people have clearly indicated their disdain for the public option as a Trojan horse for government-run health care, concerned citizens should demand that members of Congress look to other alternatives.

This spring we introduced a comprehensive health care reform bill, the Patients' Choice Act, along with U.S. Representatives Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Devin Nunes (R- CA), that delivers on the stated goals of both parties -- improving health care choices, access and affordability -- without adding billions of dollars in new debt or taxes. In fact, according to independent estimates, our bill could save taxpayers at least $70 billion and states more than $960 billion over the next ten years.

What makes the Patients' Choice Act the best alternative, we believe, is that it correctly identifies the true problems in our complex health care system and lays out specific solutions to those problems. (Christian Coalition of America).

- Please pray that the Lord, our God, will pry open the minds of men and chisel away the deception and lies to recover the truth on Health Care. Intercede, as God knows the way through the wilderness of a government engaging with a free people, that He will open more hearts to give them a glimpse of what freedom means to the American patient. Please ask for a complete move of God to center this debate around the true innovation of the people, by the people, and for the people when it comes to services needed, for we trust and are sufficient in Him and do not need another "god" to take care of us.

7. OBAMA'S DEFINITION OF "TAX" IN HEALTH CARE PLAN QUESTIONED

President Obama ran into a problem from an unlikely source yesterday during his television marathon of five Sunday talk shows. ABC host George Stephanopoulos confronted the president on whether the large penalties in the bill ($3,800 per family) for those who refuse to buy health insurance constitute a tax. The president, understandably, was adamant in denying it was a tax. If it is a tax, then he is violating his pledge not to raise taxes on middle class families - a political disaster.

As Stephanopoulos pressed the point, Obama said, "No. That's not true, George." A few minutes later, he objected again, and said, "No, but, but, George, you - you can't just make up that language and decide that that's called a tax increase." Stephanopoulos then cited a Webster's dictionary, which defines "tax" as "a charge, usually of money, imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes." Obama objected again, and told Stephanopoulos that by looking up tax in the dictionary, he was "stretching a little bit right now." Stephanopoulos gave up and asked, "But you reject that it's a tax increase?" President Obama responded, "I absolutely reject that notion."

The president may reject that notion, but right about now Congressman Joe Wilson might again need to yell "You lie!" Several news outlets took a look at the Senate bill to see what it called the penalties. There it was in black and white on page 29: "The consequence for not maintaining insurance would be an excise tax." According to Politico, the legislation goes on to state that the tax would be collected: "through the tax code and applied as an additional amount of federal tax owed."

So what should we conclude? Does the president not know what is in the bill he is pushing? Did he know, but chose to intentionally mislead Stephanopoulos and the millions of people watching the interview? Does President Obama think he can still get away with distortions and half-truths? 1. OBAMA SCRAPS BUSH'S EUROPEAN MISSILE DEFENSE PLAN

President Barack Obama on Thursday shelved a Bush-era plan for an Eastern European missile defense shield that has been a major irritant in relations with Russia. He said a redesigned defensive system would be cheaper and more effective against the threat from Iranian missiles. Anticipating criticism from the right that he was weakening America's security, Obama said repeatedly that this decision would provide more - not less - protection.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Iran's changing capabilities drove the decision, but he acknowledged that the replacement system is likely to allay some of Russia's concerns. Obama also made a pointed reference to Russia and its heated objections to the shield. "Its concerns about our previous missile defense programs were entirely unfounded," Obama said.

Criticism came immediately from Republicans. Rep. Eric Cantor, (R-VA), the second-ranking Republican in the House, said he would "work to overturn this wrong- headed policy." "Our allies, especially Poland and the Czech Republic, deserve better and our people deserve smarter and safer." The new plan would rely on sea and land-based sensors and interceptor missiles intended as a bulwark against Iranian short- and medium-range missiles.

Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl called the decision "dangerous and shortsighted." Sen. John McCain, called the decision a disappointment that "has the potential to undermine perceived American leadership in Eastern Europe." (CNSNews.com/Associated Press) Read mor e

- Is this scrapping of the missile shield just another step in our president's plan of so weakening the might of the USA that we can no longer stand as protectors of the oppressed of the world? Ask the Lord for perception of this question. Ask the Lord to go ahead of us into battle as we fight off enemies within and without. Pray for the protection of those Congressmen who remain stalwart against further decreases in our military power.

2. COMMENTARY: MISSILE SHIELD SACRIFICED FOR TRILATERALS' PROFIT

When Obama abruptly dropped the Eastern European missile shield, the real motive became quickly visible. Buried in a Reuter's article was the following side note: "Shortly after the pullback on the shield program was announced, Russia's government said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would meet several U.S. executives on Friday from firms including General Electric, whose influence in the White House is second only to Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley as well as TPG, one of the world's largest private equity firms."

In fact, all three companies mentioned have connections to the Trilateral Commission. As noted in Obama: Trilateral Commission Endgame, members of the Trilateral Commission have thoroughly saturated the Obama administration -- 13 percent of the U.S. membership now hold critical positions . . .

The purpose of controlling the Executive Branch since the election of Jimmy Carter in 1976 has been to create insider business deals for themselves, at the expense of everyone else. The fact that Eastern Europe will now be at the mercy of Vladimir Putin and the Russian Bear doesn't seem to bother the Trilaterals in the slightest. Until this hegemony is exposed and broken up, there is zero percent chance of turning back Obama's Marxist destruction of America as we know it today. (The August Review).

- Praise the Lord for revealing this tidbit of information. These people have a new world government agenda. Russia is ready to move in on a kill - remember the 3 Russian nuclear subs off the eastern coast of the USA earlier in the summer? Possibly, we should boycott those organizations mentioned above. Pray for salvation in Jesus Christ for each member of the Trilateral Commission, known and unknown.

- "Thus says the whole congregation of the Lord: 'What treachery is this that you have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the Lord, in that you have built for yourselves an altar, that you might rebel this day against the Lord?" (Joshua 22:16) "O Lord, How great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep. A senseless man does not know, nor does a fool understand this. When the wicked spring up like grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed forever. But You, Lord, are on high forevermore. 3. POLES, CZECHS: U.S. MISSILE DEFENSE SHIFT A BETRAYAL

Poles and Czechs voiced deep concern Friday at President Barack Obama's decision to scrap a Bush- era missile defense shield planned for their countries. "Betrayal! The U.S. sold us to Russia and stabbed us in the back," the Polish tabloid Fakt declared on its front page.

Polish President Lech Kaczynski said he was concerned that Obama's new strategy leaves Poland in a dangerous "gray zone" between Western Europe and the old Soviet sphere. (AP)

4. SENATE ATTEMPT THIS WEEK TO GUT COUNTERTERRORISM LAWS

Congress is set to debate a bill introduced by Senator Russ Feingold that seeks to gut current Counterterrorism tools, including the provision that enabled the prosecution and convictions of the Holy Land Foundation 5 for material support of a terrorist entity.

Should the Feingold provisions be passed, it would effectively rip counterterrorism tools out of the hands of both government law enforcement and prosecutors. The HLF5 could be put back on the street in appeals citing the revocation of the material support provision as over- reaching. To strike down this provision would make those who raise funds for terror organizations in the United States untouchable by law. The willingness during the Clinton administration to allow Hamas terrorist fund raisers a wide berth in the U.S. sowed the seeds of terrorism into our nation that we have reaped in terrorism on our shores.

The amendments to the Patriot Act that Senators Feingold (D-WI), Durbin (D-IL) , Tester (D-MT), Udall (D- CO), and Bingaman (D-NM) are putting into play will turn back the clock to pre-9/11 investigative and prosecutorial standards of counterterrorism. In other words, they will be gutting valuable tools that have been safeguarding the nation against terrorism. (Investigative Project)

- Are these senators all treasonous betrayors of the Constitution that they took an oath to defend? Pray that these senators and others who believe as they do will be convicted in their hearts of the terrible truth of the bill to be voted on this week. Who/what is controlling them so that they cannot think loyally of their own country? Pray that this bill never comes out of committee - God is able! Pray for the souls of these senators.

5. DUAL-PROLONGED ATTACK ON "MATERIAL SUPPORT OF TERRORIST" LAWS

Apparently there is a double-pronged attack against the counterterrorism provisions in the PATRIOT Act with a new Muslim "accreditation" organization teaming up with the Better Business Bureau to do an end run around how terrorist organizations employ charitable funds.

The ACLU and an unindicted co-conspirator in the HLF trial CAIR (Council of American Islamic Relations) have been instrumental in political and public relations efforts to push back the "material support of terrorism" provisions.

This new effort takes advantage of the lack of understanding in the general public and media as to how charities are used to garner stronger power bases for the various terrorist organizations vying for power. This is how the Holy Land Foundation charities aided Hamas which ultimately led to the civil war in the Gaza Strip . . .

"The argument that there are multiple 'wings' in terrorist organizations has been repeatedly rejected. When it was enacted, the material support statute was intended to make these groups radioactive-in the words of *Andrew McCarthy the prosecutor who successfully tried the Blind Sheik in the first World Trade Center bombing -'an entity that merits only our contempt, not our contributions." - Pray for the American public to awaken to the threat of terrorists' use of charitable organizations. Charity speaks of love for one's fellow man, but not one word in the Koran mentions love. Any Moslem organization that speaks of humanitarianism should be suspect. Pray that all judges will express this idea in their courts and that the public will heed their warnings. Share this article with your circles of friends, acquaintances, and relatives.

6. WILL THE U.S. GO TO WAR WITH - ISRAEL???

Over the weekend, Zbigniew Brzezinski, former President Jimmy Carter's national security advisor and vocal supporter of Barack Obama, unbelievably suggested that the U.S. should shoot down Israeli jets if they try to attack Iran.

Brzezinski was asked how aggressively Obama should insist that Israel not strike Iran's nuclear weapons facilities. He responded, "We are not exactly impotent little babies. They (the Israelis) have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?" When pressed by the interviewer, he added, "Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not." The White House had no comment.

The Obama Administration should immediately denounce Zbigniew Brzezinski's suggestion and remove him from any advisory role - official or otherwise - he may have with the president. His comments will encourage Iran and put our ally Israel in greater jeopardy. But, sadly, the Obama Administration is already making concessions to Iran, while browbeating Israel. No wonder Brzezinski thought he could get away with "floating" his outrageous idea of the U.S. committing an act of war against Israel. (Gary Bauer)

- Pray that Mr. Brzezinski is removed from any position in the US government, for his statements in this article bear witness to this need. Obviously the man has no knowledge of the Bible nor of the reliance of the Founding Fathers on the Bible when composing our governing documents.

7. ISRAELI POLICE ON HIGH ALERT AHEAD OF HIGH HOLIDAYS

West Bank placed under general closure, police boost activity in crowds, synagogues secured by volunteers, and traffic police deployed throughout country to ensure safe, peaceful holidays. Friday was the eve of Rosh Hashana, GOD's New Year. The West Bank was put under a general closure at midnight, which will be lifted until after the holiday. Security activity in crowded areas, shopping centers, hitchhiker stations and trains increased. Yom Kippur is September 27 eve to Sept.28, and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) is October 7.

- Please keep the safety of Israel in your prayers and give special attention to the high holy days. Ask the Lord to deal with any suicide bombers and to keep the skies clear over Israel. Pray that the celebrations of these holy days are peaceful wherever Jews live, including in the USA.

- "Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the Lord your God." (Numbers 10:10)

8. ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER ATTENDS U.N. MEETINGS; SPEAKS ON THURSDAY

Benjamin Netanyahu is arriving in New York City on Monday, to participate in UN meetings. He is to supposedly scheduled to meet with Abbas and Obama (Tuesday 10 AM), and later with UN General Secretary,Ban Ki-moon, and France's president Sarkozy (possibly Wednesday) On Thursday he will be addressing the UN about the Iranian threat. The Prime Minister is being accompanied to the USA, by Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

Clearly we need to be praying fervently. Ehud Barak is a very compromised man with left wing inclinations, who often speaks in contradiction to the Prime Minister. This could make things very difficult for Israel, if Barak agrees to things and supports initiatives that Netanyahu does not. Then there is Lieberman, who has the reputation of being a wild canon on the deck, and could create more than a few messes with his reactionary words. God must intervene.

Blessedly, it does not appear that there will be any breakthrough announcements concerning the Palestinian/Israeli peace plan. Netanyahu still refuses to stop the construction of Jewish homes in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is a demand made by Abbas before he will proceed with negotiations. The plan is for Obama to meet with these two leaders separately and then together with the two, to try to move things in his direction. Obama is very frustrated with Netanyahu/Israel. He is not getting what he demands, and his threats made to Israel for her refusal to comply are not having the impact he had hoped. The pressure on Netanyahu will be tremendous. We also need to consider the pressure being applied to the Israeli Ambassador to the USA, Michael Oren. Both of these men need focused and constant intercession. (Private source)

--Pray that the Lord would increase, and prosper Netanyahu's address to the UN. Pray that God would set His words in Bibi's mouth, and cause them to be delivered precisely. Pray that the Fear of the Lord would fall in the session.

--Pray that God would turn things upside down in the UN meetings and later in the G20 meetings.

--Pray that God would cause the Jewish leaders to be the teachers and the intimidators, rather than Obama, Abbas, Ahmadinejad, or anyone else.

--Pray that the Jews would give God's warning to the nations, and their leaders; calling them to conform to the word and plans of Jacob's God, in place of the demands being made to Israel by these nations.

--Pray that the Israeli delegation would stand strongly against the pressure, and that they would return victorious, with no unholy compromises made and with no agreements signed.

9. IRAN LASHES OUT AT FRANCE FOR REMARKS ON NUCLEAR PROGRAM

Iran's Foreign Ministry has criticized French President Nicholas Sarkozy for saying Iran is working on creating nuclear weapons. In a statement published by Iran's ISNA news agency Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Ghashghavi said the French president's remarks were in contradiction with the International Atomic Energy Agency's findings. He said the comments were politically motivated and far from realistic.

Earlier this week, Mr. Sarkozy said French intelligence services are certain Iran is working on nuclear weapons and he raised the possibility of further sanctions against the nation.

Western nations have accused Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons, but Iran insists its nuclear activities are peaceful and not subject to negotiation. France is scheduled to take part in October 1 talks with Iran, along with the U.S., Britain, Germany, China and Russia. The White House says Mr. Obama spoke with President Sarkozy on the phone Tuesday to discuss ways of bringing Iran into compliance with its international obligations. 10. IAEA WANTS ISRAEL TO ALLOW NUCLEAR INSPECTION

International Atomic Energy Agency says Jerusalem must join Non-Proliferation Treaty and allow the IAEA to monitor its facilities. Iranian ambassador hails decision as triumph. Israel will not cooperate with this. The UN voted to urge Israel to place all atomic sites under UN inspections, in a surprise victory for Arab states. The resolution expresses concern about Israeli nuclear capabilities.(YNET)

- The IAEA could not even monitor the nuclear facilities of Iraq and Iran without accepting the lies of those countries, so what is its purpose of making such demands on Israel? The demands sound like some fears on the part of Iran and other Middle East countries. Of course, Israel would never use any nuclear power against peaceful neighbors! Pray that this requirement from the IAEA be rejected by the UN Security Council. Also pray that our president does not side with the IAEA. We must continue to be a friend and support of Israel.

11. PALESTINIANS: ZERO CHANCES FOR ABBAS-NETANYAHU MEETING

Following meeting between Abbas-Mitchell meeting, Ramallah sources say that without clear Israeli declaration on halt to settlement construction, coveted three-way summit between US, Israeli and Palestinian leaders will not take place.

The chances of a three-way summit between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and US President Barak Obama are slim, Ramallah sources said on Friday, after a meeting between Abbas and special American envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell. Later Friday, Mitchell is scheduled to meet with Netanyahu for a second time in the same day.

Abbas told Mitchell on Friday that he will not resume talks without a complete freeze, according to Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat. "We once again reiterated that there are no middle ground solutions for settlements," Erekat told reporters. "A settlement freeze is a settlement freeze." The Palestinians further noted that without a clear Israeli position, peace talks will not be restarted, and that such a position has yet to be presented. (Associated Press/ YNET)

- Does the Palestinian Authority think that by playing hardball with Israel that it will ultimately eliminate all Israel? The PA's leaders need to read the Bible to determine what plans God has for Israel and the rule of the Messiah. A small win now will result in the destruction of the PA. The Israelis need the land to provide for the Jews returning to Israel. We should offer praises to God for the cancellation of meetings and the continued building of settlements.
