1. Obama to Address Nation's Schoolchildren on First Day of School - AP
Obama will deliver a national address directly to students in Grades k - 6 on Tuesday, which will be the first day of classes for many children across the country. The address, to be broadcast live on the White House's Web site, was announced in a letter to school principals last week by Education Secretary Arne Duncan.
- Lift up a prayer that the district superintendents and the school principals would use great wisdom in weighing whether to show this speech next week in their own schools. pray against any undue influence imposed by the teachers' unions to do so; let every man or woman decide for themselves the proper course to pursue.
- "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." (Psalm 32:8)
2. Critics Decry Obama's 'Indoctrination' Plan for Students - AP
A suggested lesson plan that calls on school kids to write letters to themselves about what they can do to help President Obama is troubling some education experts, who say it establishes the president as a "superintendent in chief" and may indoctrinate children to support him politically.
- Again, lift up the school authorities in prayer, as they consider using the White House's suggested curriculum before, during and after this speech. Although Mr. Obama may have good intentions, we recall that in Nazi Germany, Hitler went to great lengths to sway the youth of the nation to his hideous cause. Pray that thsi will not happen again in the United States of America. Pray!
- "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
3. Obama: H1N1 vaccine 'strongly recommended' - Washington Times
President Obama said Tuesday the H1N1 vaccine will be voluntary, but he "strongly recommended" that Americans get one.
- Pray that this vaccine is never required by any type of law. Many health workers throughout the nation have been warning that this vaccine can be quite deadly because it has killed many people. Evidently, the vaccine affects the brain and can cause total paralysis.
- "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19)
4. Obama Praises Islam as 'Great Religion' - Fox News
Hussein Obama on Tuesday praised American Muslims for enriching the nation's culture at a dinner to celebrate the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
- Did the president leave out some words when he praised Islam - great in cruelty towards women, its treatment of people of other religions, its belief in lying to "infidels," its desire to murder and mutilate converts to Christianity, its lack of love? Does the president find these characteristics "great"? Pray that our president finds the love of Jesus and will learn to repent.
- "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit." (Proverbs 18:21)
5. School Sues State for Banning Bible Use as Textbook - Fox News
A public charter school is suing Idaho officials, saying the state illegally barred use of the Bible as an instructional text.
- Pray for favor for the school, both in the courtroom and in the state, that is requesting the use of the Bible as an instructional tool. Pray that the Idaho officials will repent of their misjudgment and give full permission to the schools to use the Bible. Pray for the souls of the officials that they may each receive Jesus Christ as their Savior.
- "For the word of the Lord is right, And all His work is done in truth." (Psalm 33:4)
6. California Fire Tornadoes Spread Flames - ABC News
California wildfires consumed even more territory in the last 24 hours, at times erupting in devastating fire tornadoes, but for the first time in a week of losing ground to the flames firefighters today expressed optimism that their efforts were having an effect.
- Pray that the Lord sends rain onto these fires consuming so much of the land in California. Lift up to God's throne those firefighters who work so diligently to keep back the fires and ultimately stop them.
- "Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the Lord, the fire was quenched." (Numbers 11:2)
7. Mexico Tries to Evacuate Thousands Ahead of Category 4 Hurricane Jimena - Fox News'
Emergency workers struggled to evacuate thousands of reluctant slum dwellers as extremely dangerous Hurricane Jimena approached Mexico's resort-studded Baja California Peninsula on Tuesday.
- Pray for the safety of all those in the path of this hurricane. Ask the Lord to diminish the power of the winds and rains so that the storm provides nourishing rain, not destructive.
- ". . . and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock." (Matthew 7:25)
8. CIA Says It Will Not Reveal Any More Details on Interrogation Program - Fox News
The spy agency faced a Monday court deadline to turn over more papers, but the agency responded by telling the federal judge in the case that dozens of remaining documents must remain classified due to national security issues.
- Pray that the courts will exercise wisdom and sound judgment in this issue, for common sense strongly suggests that revealing of the interrogation process advertises to the terrorists secrets which they should not know. Pray that this political maneuver dies because the Lord has intervened. Agents' names will be exposed and identities revealed. Ask the Lord to give new, equally effective strategies to the CIA.
- "By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace." (Hebrew 11:31)
9. Lockerbie Letters: No Reason Not to Release Bomber - Fox News
Britain's Foreign Office advised Scotland that there was no legal barrier -- or promise to the United States -- that would prevent it from returning the Pan Am Flight 103 bomber to his native Libya, newly released documents show.
- Pray for wisdom in the parliaments of both the UK and Scotland, for there was no common sense in the releasing of the bomber who caused the deaths of so many people aboard the Pan Am flight. If the sending of the bomber back to Libya is to result in a steady supply of oil to the UK, pray that the Holy Spirit moves across the UK, reminding the British and Scottish citizens that their trust must be in the Lord, Jehoveh Jireh.
- "As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him." (2 Samuel 22:31)

1. Diplomats: Trilateral Obama meet with Abbas, Netanyahu highly unlikely - Ha'aretz
Senior diplomats in New York said Tuesday it was highly unlikely that U.S. President Barack Obama, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas would hold a three-way meeting at the end of the month.
2. EU source implies Israel behind July hijacking of Russian ship - Ynet News
A European source claimed in a recent interview with Time Magazine, that Israel was responsible for the hijacking of Russian cargo ship the Arctic Sea since it was suspected of carrying an arms shipment to the Middle East, Ynet learned Wednesday.
3. Hamas Objects to Possible Lessons on Holocaust in U.N.-Run Schools in Gaza - Washington Post
The prospect of United Nations-run schools in the Gaza Strip teaching children about the Holocaust has sparked fierce resistance this week from leaders of the Palestinian Hamas movement and forced international officials to confront a situation fraught with political risk.
4. Iran's Nuclear Negotiator Says Tehran Ready for Nuke Talks - Fox News
Iran's top nuclear negotiator said his country is ready to hold talks with world powers to ease fears over its nuclear activities and has prepared a revised package of proposals for Western countries, state TV reported Tuesday.

You and Your Children In Forced Indentured Servanthood to the Government
Actor Jon Voight is a conservative and an American patriot. He is now beginning to think the unthinkable. In a comment to Inside the Beltway published in the Washington Times, Voight asked if the man who occupies the Oval Office (OOO) is "creating a civil war in our own country?" Voight said, "We are witnessing a slow, steady takeover of our true freedoms. We are becoming a socialist nation, and whoever can't see this is probably hoping it isn't true." Voight said that if the government takes over our industries, raises our taxes to support unconstitutional causes, "then we will be in default. This great America will become a paralyzed nation." Many political commentators are beginning to recognize a difference in what used to be political rhetoric and the now sustained effort to "remake" America as "political warfare."
But they still haven't reached the point where they are willing to think the unthinkable--that this Administration and Congress are waging a real war against the Constitutional Republic of America and every Christian American. The current Administration is attacking the Republic--which is "we the people"--on many fronts, in an attempt to destroy what was and is, and to "remake" it into a socialist humanist nation. But in order to come to that conclusion, you must be able to think the unthinkable. We have seen a government takeover of the auto industry and the financial industry.
We are experiencing a government takeover of the healthcare industry--even bully tactics by Congressional Democratic leadership to harass health insurance providers with a Congressional investigation. And because of all these things, the ten year budget deficit projection has grown to a record $9 trillion. America is on the verge of financial collapse because of government spending--the real story, however, is how the Administration is destroying the nation by overspending and taking over industries, indenturing the citizens involuntarily to government servitude for generations to come.
The latest headline is that Obama wants to ban news coverage of his vacation. This joins the White House plea to turn in those providing misinformation against healthcare to a White House email address, trying to shut up protestors at town hall meetings by giving union thugs the go ahead to assault people, and trying to stop religious free speech in hate crimes legislation. Christian Americans must think the unthinkable and know an undeclared war is raging against them-- spiritually by satan and physically by this government. We must do as Ephesians 6:19 commands, "That utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel." Yemeni men plead guilty in NY to money laundering
Three Yemeni businessmen in western New York have pleaded guilty to money laundering charges, ending their federal court trial. The men were charged in March 2007 after authorities said they sent $200,000 overseas knowing it was illegally obtained and could benefit the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, which has fought Israel since the early 1980s and is considered by Israel and the United States to be a terrorist organization. The men weren't charged with any terrorism-related crimes. On trial were Yehia Ali Ahmed Alomari, Mohamed Al Huraibi and Saleh Mohamed Taher Saeed.
They ran mini-marts and a restaurant in Rochester. Under Friday's plea agreements, the men face sentences ranging from 15 to 27 months. They remain free until they're sentenced in December. Defense lawyers say the men thought the money was simply to help fellow Yemenis. (AP)
- Praise the Lord that more domestic terrorists have been found and have pleaded guilty. The Lord is so good about exposing terrorists and their activities to the various investigative agencies in the USA. Continue to thank Him and ask Him to continue to reveal the identities of more of these enemies to us. Pray that no more monies will be used to fund terrorist activities.

Conspiracy Theories, Terror Support Found in ISNA Convention Literature
The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) engages in frequent interfaith programs with Jewish groups and has been embraced warmly by the Obama administration as a contact point for the American Muslim community. In those circles, ISNA presents an open and progressive face of Islam that is led by a woman, Ingrid Mattson. Literature available at ISNA's annual convention last month in Washington, however, offers a far different vision.
Books and pamphlets obtained by the Investigative Project on Terrorism from ISNA's July national convention feature numerous attempts to portray U.S. prosecution of terrorists and terror supporters as anti-Muslim bigotry; dramatic revisionist history that denied attacks by Arab nations and Palestinian terrorists against Israel; anti-Semitic tracts and hyperbolic rants about a genocide and holocaust of Palestinians. Iraq al Qaeda militant says Syria trained him
Iraq aired a confession from a suspected al Qaeda militant Sunday who accused Syrian intelligence agents of training foreign fighters like himself in a camp before sending them to fight in Iraq. The videotaped accusations, aired by Baghdad security spokesman Qassim al-Moussawi in a news conference, could worsen a row between Iraq and Syria over accusations that Syria supports Islamist militants responsible for attacks in Iraq. Iraq and Syria recalled their ambassadors last week after Baghdad demanded Damascus hand over two alleged masterminds of bombings in Baghdad that killed almost 100 people, mainly at two government ministries.
The tape featured a man who called himself Mohammed Hassan al- Shemari, 29, from Saudi Arabia, who was arrested in Diyala province on suspicion of being a leader of al Qaeda in Iraq. He was detained before last week's bombings but the Iraqi government nonetheless used him to illustrate accusations against Syria. It was not possible to independently verify his story. (Reuters)

How Christ is Honoured by His Followers in Other Cultures
Friday night. Jasmine has just arrived from her workplace in the city. Gracious, sincere village neighbours greet Jasmine warmly at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. They take their places in a circle on the tikar, a floor mat of woven reeds. Someone reaches to the top shelf of a closet and takes down a stack of photocopied, large-font Scripture portions. Jasmine readies her reading glasses and settles herself in a cross-legged position on the tikar.
Afterwards everyone in the circle prays for the others and for their nation. These prayers are different from ritual prayers in Arabic -- Jasmine says emphatically -- for they are offered in the name of THE MESSIAH, THEIR SAVIOUR . . . This regular gathering is an example of communities of faith in Jesus the Messiah that are springing up throughout Indonesia. These gatherings may look different from what we see in our own cultural settings, but Jesus is being made known; He is being honoured!
Prayer Starters:
- Around the world Muslims who have encountered the Messiah have to find culturally appropriate ways to worship. Some have adopted worship styles and attitudes from other cultures while adapting it to their needs. Others have developed unique cultural expressions of their faith.
- Pray for former Muslims to find ways to come together culturally yet still on a biblical bases.
- Pray for former Muslims in your city, region, and country, that the beauty of local cultural expressions may be manifest in worship (songs, preaching and teaching styles and new ways of living which bring worship into the heart of daily life).

Pray for our teachers, that they be graced with FAVOR as they work to teach the next generation the facts of our nation's heritage.) Bit by bit, piece by piece, the US government is taking away all your rights and freedoms and property.
