"What the wicked fears will come upon him, but the desire of the righteous
will be granted." (Proverbs 10:24)
Introduction
At Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, we love it when the wind of the Spirit -- the very breath of God -- breathes a "new thing" in and through us.
Today is one of those days.
Instead of laboring to bring you "On Capitol Hill This Week" TODAY, we are hearing to "Stop the presses!" and instead to share the following prayer strategy with you, submitted by one of our intercessory teams in Colorado.
This simple, "do it at home" prayer strategy has really spoken to our hearts, and we trust that this will speak to you, too, as you ponder the words below.
In the meantime, the "presses" WILL roll once again tomorrow (Tuesday), when we will publish "the OCAP" (On Capitol Hill This Week) -- instead of the Daily Brief. Then, the Brief will follow on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, as always.
So, we wish to thank you, now, for joining with us as we move with the Spirit and "catch the wave" of the "new thing" GOD is calling forth in this hour.

A Message from Colorado
A CALL TO PRAYER
Dear Sara,
As we have been watching what is happening in our country, the Lord has been stirring our intercessors to pray for the nation. There are Tea Parties and everyone is trying to mobilize the people for America to action.
Prayer is the most important weapon the Lord has given us! Action is absolutely necessary, but we need to win the "spiritual air war" through prayer!
So, here is an idea that I wanted to present to you: That through your sphere of influence we mobilize the Body of Christ to "Pray 10 Minutes a Day for America!"
Challenge everyone to Pray 10 Minutes a Day for America!
Mission Statement
Pray 10 Minutes a Day for America!
Because the word of God states: "It is not by might, nor power, but by my Spirit says the Lord . . ." (Zech 4:6), we have been entrusted with a mandate for the Body of Christ. Spend 10 minutes everyday in prayer with and for our country, the United States of America!
THIS TIME OF PRAYER INCLUDES PRAYING OVER OUR FOUNDATIONAL DOCUMENTS:
- THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
- THE BILL OF RIGHTS (CONSTITUTION)
The Plan (Part One)
Pray 10 Minutes a Day for America!
Here are some topics for the ten minutes as you invest them for America! This is not an exhaustive list -- be creative and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you!
Prayerfully choose one, two or three prayer targets, as the LORD quickens the topic to you, and "press in" with focused prayer during YOUR ten minutes for our nation.
1. Read out loud prayerfully The Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. - As you read these documents, thank God for our nations' Christian foundation and pray we return to them!
2. II Chron 7:14 - "If my people, which are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then, will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." - Spend time in both personal and National repentance!
3. Mt 4:16 - "The people which sat in darkness saw a great light; and to them which sat in the region of death, light is sprung up." - Pray for the Light of God to shine in our country!
4. Ps 119:30 - "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." - Pray for the word of God to be the foundation of our nation!
5. Ps 149:1 - "Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of the saints". - Spend time in worship and intercession before the throne.
6. Acts 26:17 - "Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee." - Pray for deliverance for our nation!
The Plan (Part Two)
Pray 10 Minutes a Day for America!
7. Acts 26:18 - "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God. That they receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." - Pray for the Light of God to shine forth in our nation's capital!
8. Is 2:5 - "O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord." - Pray that our nations' leaders will walk in God's light and truth.
9. Is 9:2 - "The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined." Pray that our nation will repent and turn to Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
10. 1 John 1:5 - " This then is the message which we have heard from Him, and declare unto you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all." - Pray that the darkness will flee before our God!
11. Is 60:1 - "Arise shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee." - Pray that His Light will shine forth and expose the evil darkness in our land.
12. Ps 122:6 - "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper that love thee." - Pray that our nation will bless Israel and His chosen people.
The Plan (Part Three)
Pray 10 Minutes a Day for America!
13. Is 40:2 - "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God." - Pray for those in need in our land, those who need jobs and comfort!
14. Gen 12:3 - "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee; in in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." - Pray blessings upon the nation.
15. Jn 3:21 - "But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." - Pray that God would make our nation and each one of its citizens, including it leaders, a people who walk in God's Light and Truth.
16. Matt 5:14 - "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid." - Pray for a mighty revival for our nation!
17. Matt 5:16 - "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which in heaven." - Pray that God will use you and our nations' leaders to be people of righteousness and good works!
18. Eph 5:13 - "But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light, for whatsoever doth make manifest is light." - Pray that God would expose evil and wicked plans and make them manifest in the light!
A Clever Idea!
[Note: this idea will "work" for all topics listed, except for reading the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.]
OK, this is me again . . . Sara . .. and I am getting a really clever idea from the Lord.
About those ten minutes:
Let's face it -- many of us can't even linger these days for an extra ten minutes in our prayer closets, with the busy schedules we keep.
BUT -- God ALWAYS makes a way!
How about if we all print out these 18 prayer points and tuck the printout somewhere inside our car? Then, at the first stoplight, we pull out a verse, read it out loud, note the prayer target and (as the light turns green) . . . away we go -- in prayer!!
If we continue to do this at every "long" light (I know you already know where the three-minute stoplights are located in your city!) and in every traffic jam we hit . . . well, ten minutes a day will be EASY to do!
[Can you just imagine ALL OF US, in ALL OF OUR CARS, decreeing these decrees ACROSS THE NATION, as we go about our daily business? WOW!]
ISN'T GOD GOOD???

A Closing Thought
Seriously, friends, we ARE in a true war now for the very survival of our dear nation, as we have known it all these years. The danger we face is HUMANISM, in all its many disguises. And undergirding the mindset of humanism is atheism, agnosticism, Buddhism, Islam, and many many other gods, but NOT the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- the God upon whom this nation was founded.
In REPENTANCE, let us join our hearts with this final decree before the LORD MOST HIGH, out of Hosea 14:3:
NO LONGER WILL WE SAY AGAIN "OUR GOD" TO THE WORK OF OUR HANDS.
AMEN.
