1. LEBANESE ARMY WORKS TO PREVENT PROTESTS AT ISRAELI BORDER

Just days ahead of the potential for renewed conflict at the border between Israel and Lebanon, the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) has intervened to try and prevent Palestinian protesters from reaching the Lebanese side of the border. According to security sources cited by Lebanon's The Daily Star newspaper, the LAF declared the border area a closed military zone. Less than a month after protests and riots reached Israel's borders, including attempts to infiltrate into Israel, more protests have been planned for Sunday [June 5], although it remains to be seen where they will actually happen.

The protests are set to mark the anniversary of the 1967 Six-Day War, known in Arabic as the Naksa, or "setback," in which Israel, in a war of self-defense, took the West Bank [Judea and Samaria], Gaza Strip and Golan Heights from Jordan, Egypt and Syria respectively.

Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the border issue in comments to a hi-tech convention in Jerusalem on Thursday. According to a translation of the comments into English posted on the Prime Minister's Office Web site, he said, "Like every country in the world, Israel has the right and the duty to guard its borders and protect them. That is why my instructions are clear: to respond with restraint, yet with the necessary resolve to protect our borders, our communities and our citizens."
Said the Israeli leader, "Those same factors [nations and terror groups] are expected in the next few days, once again, to challenge Israel's sovereignty and undermine the borders of the country." (Source: Bridges for Peace)

- Pray that the Lord will intervene and protect the borders of the nation of Israel from violence or infiltration by protesters. Pray that any demonstrations would be peaceful.

- "Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy." (Psalm 61:1-3)

2. U.S. ON CLASHES: ISRAEL HAS THE RIGHT TO DEFEND ITSELF

Israel has the right to defend itself, just as every sovereign nation, the United States said following Naksa Day clashes by Syrian protesters along the Israel-Syrian border, AFP reported. "We are deeply troubled by events that took place earlier today in the Golan Heights resulting in injuries and the loss of life," the State Department said in a statement. "We call for all sides to exercise restraint. Provocative actions like this should be avoided. Israel, like any sovereign nation, has a right to defend itself," the statement added. (Jerusalem Post)

- The exact details of exactly what occurred yesterday at the border of the Golan Heights are still somewhat sketchy, but we do know that the Syrian nationals who attempted to illegally cross into Israel were repeatedly warned not to do so. They were fired upon only after all other means of preventing this infiltration were exhausted.

Offer praise that our State Department, has rightfully stated that "Israel, like any sovereign nation, has a right to defend itself." Pray that the United States will continue to stand strongly with Israel as she faces illegal encroachments on all of her borders: north, south, east and west. Amen.

- 1 O God, do not remain silent; do not turn a deaf ear, do not stand aloof, O God. 2 See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads. 3 With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. 4 "Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel's name is remembered no more." . . . Make them like tumbleweed, my God, like chaff before the wind. 14 As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, 15 so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. 16 Cover their faces with shame, LORD, so that they will seek your name. (Psalm 83:1-4; 13- 16)

3. ISRAEL DEFENDS BORDERS AGAINST VIOLENT INFILTRATORS

Jerusalem, June 5 - Around 500 infiltrators, some of them armed, attempted to storm Israel's border with Syria Sunday. The events coincide with the Palestinian 'Naqsa Day,' the anniversary of the Six Day War in 1967. The protesters are trying to enter Israel near the northern Golan Heights' town, Majdal Shams, primarily from the southwestern Syrian town of Kuneitra.

As they converged on the border fence, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) called on the infiltrators in Arabic to cease progress before firing warning shots in the air. Once these warnings were ignored, the IDF were forced to fire towards the legs of those breaching the fence.

The IDF spokesperson told Xinhua News that "soldiers shot into the air as dozens of protesters kept approaching the fences, despite warnings to stay away," and that the IDF used "bullhorns to warn rioters in Arabic" to not approach the border fence.

The IDF could not confirm reports of dead and wounded. (The Israel Project)

- Continue in prayer, as above. Be aware as the media reports on this news of possible bias, and ask the Holy Spirit to bring clarity and discernment on these clashes.

4. SINAI SPINS OUT OF CONTROL

Blocking ports, hit-and-run attacks on Egyptian forces and storming military headquarters with little opposition are just a series of events that have driven the Sinai into unprecedented chaos as Cairo's authority wanes before disgruntled Bedouin residents. "The situation here is very tense," an American aid worker living in the northern Sinai city of Al-Arish told The Media Line on condition on anonymity, as he was not authorized to talk to the media. "The Bedouin in northern Sinai took the Egyptian revolution as an opportunity to take revenge on the Egyptian security forces, which they believe have persecuted them for years."

The aid worker revealed that three of the four police stations in the area have been shut down following attacks by machine-gun toting Bedouins, some armed with rocket propelled grenades. The attackers stole weapons from the buildings and released prisoners held inside, he said.

A security crackdown against the Bedouins in northern Sinai began following a chain of terrorist attacks targeting tourists in the resort towns Taba, Sharm Al-Sheikh and Dahab in 2004 and 2006. Members of the Tarabin tribe of northern Sinai were implicated by Egyptian security for involvement in the attacks, and mass arrests ensued.

Pipelines leading natural gas from Egypt to Israel and Jordan through Sinai were bombed twice, in February and April, cutting essential supplies to both countries.

"Egypt is struggling to impose its sovereignty over Sinai, as we have witnessed in the two explosions that recently occurred there," Netanyahu told the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday [May 30]. "Global terror organizations are meddling there, and it's only getting worse because of Sinai's connection to Gaza." Netanyahu added that Hamas, the Islamist Palestinian organization ruling the Gaza Strip, has also increased its presence in Egypt as a result of the political instability suffered by its patron, Syria.

Clashes between Egypt's security apparatus and indigenous Bedouins was nothing new, but Major General Sa'id admitted that the recent opening of the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Sinai created new and ominous security realities for Egypt. "We were always worried about the entry of people from the Gaza Strip with extremist views," he said. "The opening of the Rafah crossing has created new security problems." (Written by David E. Miller, The Media Line, June 1, 2011)

- Pray that stability will be restored to this southern border area. Pray that the Lord will protect the natural gas pipelines that lead from Egypt to Israel and Jordan as well as the border with Gaza.

- "And he said: 'The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer'." (2 Samuel 22:2)

5. U.S. TO OFFER TURKEY MAJOR ROLE IN MIDDLE EAST TALKS

Hope to Stop Gaza Flotilla in Exchange

According to the Turkish daily Hurriyet, the U.S. may offer Ankara to host major Israeli-Palestinian peace talks if it mends its ties with Israel and prevents upcoming Gaza-bound flotilla. The U.S. government is considering to offer Turkey a deal in which Ankara would stop a second Gaza flotilla that is due to depart later this month in exchange for the opportunity to host an Israeli-Palestinian peace summit in Ankara, the Turkish newspaper Today's Zaman reported Friday.

Israel has been preparing to block the second aid flotilla sailing from Turkey to Gaza, one year after the Israel Defense Forces' deadly raid on the first Gaza flotilla in which nine Turkish activists died. Today's Zaman quoted the Turkish Hurriyet daily as reporting that the U.S. was due to officially ask Turkey to host a major peace conference in return for mending its ties with Israel and preventing the second Gaza-bound flotilla. (Haaretz) Read more. [Reported by: Hebrew Nation News Alerts]

- Is the USA playing with fire in offering this deal with Turkey? Are we offering a place at the table with the Moslems who do not respect the truth but will lie simply to gain some advantage? If Turkey accepts this offer, will she violate the agreement? Pray as the Lord directs. Turkey does have strong Christian roots as most of the churches mentioned in Revelation are located in Turkey. Ask the Lord to arouse the Turkish Christians to pray and to act for the protection of her neighbor, Israel. Pray that the Lord intervenes in the sailing of the flotilla from Turkey to Israel.

- "Forsake her [wisdom] not, and she shall preserve you: love her and she shall keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing: therefore, get wisdom: and with your getting, get understanding." (Proverbs 4: 6, 7)

6. NAVY: FLOTILLA WON'T BREACH BLOCKADE

The IDF [Israel Defense Forces] is gearing up for the nearing Gaza-bound flotilla, set for June. A senior Navy source told Ynet on Tuesday [May 31] that Israel's marine forces have learned a great deal from the tragic results of the first Gaza flotilla, and are readying for any scenario. "We are anticipating and training for a variety of scenarios and our deployment will cover various aspects, not only operational ones. We aim to be ready for anything, even various surprises," the source said. The Navy, he added, "hopes the sail will be aborted, but at the end of the day, we will not allow vessels to breach the blockade on Gaza. We will be able to take control of the ships and stop them-if we have to," he stressed.

Earlier Tuesday, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Benny Gantz addressed the nearing sail, saying that its organizers "are acting out of hate, with the intent to create provocation and agitate spirits, not out of any desire to assists Gaza's population." The military stressed that any vessel trying to breach the maritime blockade would be stopped by the Navy. The future operation will include the Israeli Naval Commandos, as well as other IDF units, which have been holding joint exercises to that effect over recent weeks.

One of the Navy's goals-in case it has to take the ships-is to have forces board them expeditiously, thus giving them a tactical advantage that would allow them to control the vessels rather immediately. The IDF is, however, gearing for extreme scenarios as well, such as the passengers assaulting the troops using weapons or explosives.

Israel, which is still trying to stop the intended sail with diplomatic measures, has suggested that the ships unload their goods either in an Israeli port or an Egyptian one, which will allow security forces to inspect the goods for any contrabands prior to shipping them to Gaza.

The second Gaza flotilla is scheduled to set sail to Gaza at the end of June. Some 15-20 vessels, carrying 1,250 people, are expected to take part in it. Turkey's IHH group is heading this flotilla, as it did the first. (Ynetnews)

- Pray that the Lord will intervene and stop these ships from ever leaving port. Pray that He will bless Israel's diplomatic efforts to stop this provocative and very dangerous action.

- "Fear not, for I [am] with you; be not dismayed, for I [am] your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish." (Isaiah 41:10-11) (Source: Bridges for Peace)

7. ARAB LEAGUE SUPPORTS P.A. PUSH FOR U.N. STATEHOOD RECOGNITION

The Palestinians officially have the support of the Arab League to pursue statehood recognition and membership in the United Nations, according to the BBC. A committee with the Arab League, which is made up of 22 Arab states, released a statement on Saturday [May 28] that said it "supports the appeal to the UN asking that Palestine, within the 1967 borders, becomes a full-fledged state," referring to the armistice lines between Israel, Jordan and Egypt prior to the 1967 Six-Day War, which would place the West Bank [Judea and Samaria] and the Gaza Strip in Palestinian control. In response, an Israeli spokesman called the Arab League decision "a mistake."

According to a report from CNN, citing the Qatar News Agency, the Arab League supports seeking UN membership in September for a Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital. CNN's report quoted the Arab committee's statement as saying they would "take all steps and make the necessary contacts to mobilize the support required from the [UN] Security Council members and political and geographical groups in the United Nations to ensure the issuance of this resolution."

The UN Security Council is the only body capable of enacting a legally binding Palestinian statehood recognition, although the United States is one of five nations that have veto power in the Council. While the US has yet to explicitly commit to veto a Palestinian statehood resolution, US President Barack Obama has expressed opposition to such a move and the US is widely expected to use its veto if necessary. (By Joshua Spurlock, BFP Israel Mosaic Radio, May 30, 2011)

- Pray that the non-Arab nations of the world will unite in their opposition to this unfortunate action, helping to direct the Palestinian leadership back to the negotiating table.

- "A land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God [are] always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year." (Deuteronomy 11:12) (Source: Bridges for Peace)

8. TSUNAMI OF SEPTEMBER

The Israeli Defense Minister is warning of the "tsunami of September" when the U.N. will vote on recognizing an independent Palestine. Spain will recognize a Palestinian state even before then. International pressure against Israel is ratcheting up, and at the same time, Fatah has buried the hatchet with Hamas and seeks to do the same with Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Dozens of countries support recognizing an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, including Russia, China, India, South Africa and the countries of the Arab League. Most of South America has already formally recognized a Palestinian state, and now Spain intends to join them before the September vote at the U.N. takes place. If a member of the U.N. Security Council blocks the recognition of a Palestinian state, there will be an international uproar. It is very possible that a stream of countries will follow in Spain's footsteps and independently recognize a Palestinian state. This may encourage the Palestinians to unilaterally declare statehood, setting the stage for war. Read more. [Reported by: Hebrew Nation News Alerts]

- For the next four months, we will be seeing continuous news about this planned maneuver at the United Nations, when the nations of the world will unilaterally declare Palestine as a sovereign state, thereby dividing the land of Israel. FROM NOW ON, WE MUST ALL STAY ON THE WALL AS WATCHMEN, CLOSELY FOLLOWING THESE DEVELOPMENTS. The nations will be judged for their actions . . .

So far, our president has said he will veto this vote when it comes to the floor of the U.N. Pray that he will hold to that position; and pray for the supernatural protection of the nation that now rests upon the Land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Amen.

- "I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth." (Isaiah 62:6,7)

9. ON JERUSALEM DAY: ISRAEL'S LARGEST UNDERGROUND WATER SOURCE FOUND

A cave discovered during excavation work by Israel Railways in Jerusalem contains the largest and most impressive underground water sources ever discovered in Israel, scholars say. The cave was discovered near the International Convention Center in the capital during construction work on a station for the future high speed Jerusalem-Tel Aviv train line. Builders came across it while digging a service shaft at a depth of 75 meters - five meters from the planned bottom of the shaft. (Haaretz) Read more.

- Offer praise for this GOOD REPORT for Jerusalem -- the city that continues to blossom on its very special day!

- And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. (Zech. 14:8)

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim."(Joel 3:18)

10. ISRAEL CELEBRATES SHAVUOT (PENTECOST)

From sundown on Tuesday 7th June to sundown on Wednesday 8th is the festival of Shavuot (Pentecost or the Feast of Weeks). The Jews traditionally celebrate the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai at this time, while the Church celebrates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Messianic congregations in Israel traditionally mark the festival by coming together from all over the country for a time of fellowship and celebration. This year one Messianic organization has called for a night of prayer from 10pm on Tuesday to 10am on Wednesday.
Please pray:

- Pour out an anointing for prayer upon Your people in Israel.

- Unite Your people in the land of Israel! Heal the rifts which exist between us and unite us in Your truth!

- May we not be divided over the Holy Spirit!

Shabbat Shalom and Hag Shavuot Sameach! (Source: Intercessors for Israel)

1. ** YEMEN - CIVIL WAR??

Protests in Yemen have led the nation to the brink of civil war. For the past two weeks, troops loyal to President Ali Abdullah Saleh have been fighting against rebels from the Hashid tribal confederation. "The fighting took a deadly turn Friday," reports the LA Times, "with the assault on the president's residence in the southern section of Yemen." A Yemeni television station reported that Saleh had been killed in the attack. But a government official denied this saying the president and a number of others had merely been injured. (WIN Prayer Alert)
PRAY FOR:

- the restoration of peace in Yemen. ( Numbers 6:24-26)

- this time of uncertainty to be used to cause people to question not only the government, but Islam. Pray for the Holy Spirit to draw Yemenis into relationship with Jesus Christ. (Colossians 1:13)

- the Lord to accomplish His plans and purpose in Yemen. Pray for Him to raise up leaders who will rule with integrity and who know Christ as the Son of God. Pray for leaders to govern in the fear of God. (Daniel 2:21)

2. ** BAHRAIN - PROTESTS SUPPRESSED

SUMMARY: On Friday, June 3, 2011, two days after a state of emergency was lifted, Bahraini security forces fired rubber bullets and tear gas at protesters. The demonstration was reportedly held to honor a woman who died on Thursday - activists say from tear gas exposure; government officials claim it was from natural causes. Hundreds also gathered at the funeral of a protester who had been injured months before and finally died. (WIN Prayer Alert)

PRAY FOR:

- an end to government oppression and torture. (Job 35:9)

- Christians to love, enter into healthy relationships with, and pray for their Muslims family members, friends and neighbors. Pray for God to touch the hearts of Christians, enabling them to love Muslims and those who have hurt them. (Matthew 5:44)

- the people of Bahrain to be set free both politically and, more importantly, spiritually, in order to have relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray for multitudes in Bahrain to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. (John 4:35)

3. ** SYRIA - ONGOING OPPRESSION

SUMMARY: "Many deaths" occurred in the latest round of conflict between protesters and security forces in Syria, which took place on Friday, June 3, 2011. One source reported 27 deaths. Another simply said "dozens" were killed as police opened fire at a large rally. About 50,000 people demonstrated in Hama and tens of thousands in Idleb. A human rights group estimates that more than 1,100 people have died since the protests began in March. (WIN Prayer Alert)
PRAY FOR:

- an end to the violence and killing in Syria. Pray for authorities to love their people and value human life. (Psalm 7:9)

- the Lord to comfort those who have lost loved ones. (II Corinthians 1:3-4)

- the plans and purposes the Lord has for Syria to be fulfilled. Pray for the Kingdom of God to come to this nation with miracles, signs, wonders, dreams and visions of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Lord to reveal Jesus as the Son of God who loves them so much He gave His life for them. (Acts 2:17)

4. ** ALGERIA - CLOSING CHURCHES

SUMMARY: Authorities issued an order on May 25, 2011 that all Protestant churches in the Bejaia region of Algeria be closed. If upheld and enforced, this will affect seven churches. "No motive was offered," the president of the Protestant Church in Algeria said, "but it seems the decision was in accordance with the law of February 2006, which requires authorization for non-Muslim worship." Although freedom of religion is supposedly protected in the constitution, churches are regularly accused of being "anti-Islam" and their efforts to register are often resisted. (WIN Prayer Alert)

PRAY FOR:

- Christians in Algeria to stand firm in the Lord. Pray for them to be bold in preaching the Gospel. (Ephesians 6:10,19)

- the Church to find favor with God and with the authorities who are making this decision. (Psalm 69:13; Luke 2:52)

- Muslims in Algeria to be set free from the bondage of Islam. Pray for them to experience the love of Christ and put their faith in Him as Savior and Lord. ( II Corinthians 4:4)

5. ** PAKISTAN - OUTLAWING THE BIBLE

SUMMARY: Radical Muslim clerics launched a campaign on Thursday to have the Bible banned. Apparently in response to the burning of a Qur'an in Florida, USA, the Muslims want the Bible declared blasphemous. They approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan in an attempt to prove that some passages of the Bible "violate the country's blasphemy laws." Though some Pakistani Christians were alarmed by this, leaders encouraged them to respond calmly, without fear, trusting God." One pastor noted, "It is God's Word so He will take care of it." (WIN Prayer Alert)

PRAY FOR:

- Christians in Pakistan to be strong and courageous. Ask the Lord to empower them to love and pray for their enemies, and share the love of God with them. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

- the court to turn down this request. (Proverbs 21:15)

- Pray against backlash and retaliation from the lack of wisdom the pastor in Florida showed in burning the Qur'an. (Psalm 129:5)

- the spirit of vengeance to be bound and ask God to protect Christians from all of satan's demonic schemes. (Ephesians 6:11) - the salvation of the clerics who are trying to ban the Bible. Pray for them to come to the realization that Jesus is the Son of God. (I Timothy 2:1-4)

- the Lord to appear to Muslims and reveal to them that Jesus (Isa) is the Son of the Living God and the only way to salvation. Pray they will have an encounter with Christ. (John 14:6)

6. EGYPTIAN ACTIVISTS "TO FORM NAZI PARTY"

A group of Egyptian political activists have announced plans to set up a local version "of the Nazi party," an Egyptian newspaper reported on Thursday. Citing a leftist Egyptian news portal, the Al-Masry Al-Youm daily said that "the party's founding deputy is a former military official," and that the party would be aimed at bringing "together prominent figures from the Egyptian society."

The report cited founding member Emad Abdel Sattar as saying that the unestablished party "believes in vesting all powers in the president after selecting him or her carefully," and that "preparations are under way to choose the most competent person to represent the party." Almasry Alyoum added that an Egyptian Nazi party "operated secretly under former President Hosni Mubarak, whose regime prevented party leaders from carrying out their activities freely."

Irrespective of the unconfirmed report on "the Egyptian Nazi party," Egyptian activists opposed to army rule in Egypt are planning to hold demonstrations on Friday, Kedar noted. "Egypt is a country of 85 million people. Some activists want a second and a third revolution. (The Jerusalem Post)

- Pray that the Nazi Party never has a chance to gain a foothold in Egypt and form a viable organization there. We know that the leaders of many Middle East countries were enamored by Hitler and the Nazis during the 1920's and 1930's. At that time, there was much exchanging of ideas between these rulers and the Nazis. Ask the Lord to intervene in the forming of the Nazi party in Egypt and bring about its demise.

Pray for a spirit of calmness to enter Egypt so that all the restlessness ceases. Egypt's people need to return to building its economy and a government that rules for its citizens. Also pray that Egypt honors its agreement to protect its border with Israel.

- For the rise of a new Nazi Party in Egypt:

"Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us." (Isaiah 8:10)

7. 100,000 ISLAMISTS CALL FOR CALIPHATE

In this short news clip from BBC News, more than 100,000 Moslems filled up a stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia with calls to return to a Khilafah (or Caliphate: a political system of government based on Shariah law and the Koran):

In this 6 minute video, understand what the vision is for a revived Islamic empire ruled by a head "caliph" under Shariah law. (Source:Hebrew Nation News Alerts) >> Word of caution from CHPP: On the second clip, please consider muting the sound; all the words are translated into English on the screen. Thank you.

- Pray that these deceived people who call for a caliphate will be delivered to th truth, clearly seeing in their spirits and minds the lies that they have taught. We cannot imagine that Moslem women would desire to be put under sharia law, where their husbands and other men are allowed to beat their wives and mutilate their bodies and where woman are considered to be second class citizens. Pray for the silencing of these destructive voices. Ask the Lord to send strong Christian voices to move among the deceived and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ that all may know salvation and eternal life.

- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

8. AUSTRALIAN OFFICIAL CALLS ON U.N. TO REFER TO ASSAD TO INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT

Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd has called on the United Nations to refer Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Rudd also announced that Australia had widened sanctions against the Assad regime as the latter was continuing its brutal crackdown on anti-regime protesters. The measures include financial sanctions and travel bans targeting Assad, 25 other individuals and seven Syrian entities. But Rudd said the international community should do more.

"I believe it is high time the [UN] Security Council now consider a formal referral of President Assad to the International Criminal Court," he told the National Press Club in Canberra. The former Australian prime minister said: "When you see such large-scale directed action by a head of government against his own civilian population...the deepest questions arise in the minds of the people of the world as to whether any claim of legitimacy remains."

Rudds comments came as US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also ramped up her rhetoric on Assad. "He has not called an end to the violence against his own people and he has not engaged seriously in any kind of reform efforts. Every day that goes by, the position of the government becomes less tenable and the demands of the Syrian people for change only grow stronger."
Rudd and Clinton both expressed concern over the reported torture and murder by security forces of a 13-year-old boy in the Daraa region. An estimated 1,100 civilians have been killed and at least 10,000 arrested in the regime's crackdown. (By World Jewish Congress, June 1, 2011)

- Pray that the violence in Syria comes quickly to an end with no further loss of life. Pray that stability will be restored for the sake of the region as well as that of the Syrian people. Pray that those responsible for mass slaughter of innocent civilians be held accountable.

- "Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise." (Isaiah 60:18) (Source: Bridges for Peace)

1. OBAMA, THE DEBT AND FOREIGN AID

The credit rating agency Moody's is now threatening to lower the rating of the United States because of massive debt. Lowering the rating from AAA would increase interest payments dramatically. Meanwhile, Obama's State Department and other agencies are giving money to nations that actually hold huge amounts of US debt including China. Fox News obtained a CRS report showing that in 2010 the U.S. gave $1.4 billion to 16 foreign countries that held at least $10 billion in Treasury securities.Incredibly enough, we are borrowing money from other nations and then giving it back to them in "aid" while still owing them the money. See full list. (Religious Freedom Coalition)

- Father, only lies can make men do things that are against your will. We ask you to uncover the lies in our monetary system, and to make a clear way forward for the United States. Give our leaders Your sense and Your will to correct what others can plainly see does not make sense. Make this plain before the whole nation.

- "He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow, And the rod of his anger will fail." (Proverbs 22:8)

2. OBAMA SUFFERS CRUSHING DEFEAT ON DEBT CEILING

In a stunning rebuke of Obama, who, as recently as a few weeks ago, had requested an up-or-down vote on raising the already-bloated national debt ceiling of $14.6 trillion by a whopping $2 trillion -- which would get the president past his reelection campaign -- the United States House of Representatives this evening voted by an overwhelming majority of 318 to 97 to reject the debt ceiling increase. Every single Republican voted against Obama's demand to raise the federal debt ceiling. Indeed, Obama also lost almost half of his Democrats in the House. (Christian Coalition of America)

The House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, R-CA., reacted to tonight's huge victory in his press release: go here.

- Father, we thank You, not only for this clear victory, but also for the clear victory in the media about the terms of the public debate. Now we ask You to go before our leaders and the large-scale negotiations on how to make a way forward. We know the days of the status quo are numbered. Lengthen our days, strengthen our hand, and show forth Your glory among your people in the United States.

- "If you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days." (1 Kings 3:14)

3. DEVASTATING JOBS REPORT

Jaws dropped all over Washington this morning when the Labor Department released its official employment figures for May: Just 54,000 new jobs were created last month, and the unemployment rate rose to 9.1%. Economists had predicted gains of 160,000 jobs. Worse yet, the government revised downward its job creation figures for March and April, so there were actually 40,000 fewer jobs created in those months than previously thought. This is bad news for job seekers, and bad news for America.

But it is potentially devastating news for Obama. Liberal elites in Washington are in panic mode -- and with good reason. On Wednesday the New York Times sounded the alarm, writing, "No American president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt has won a second term in office when the unemployment rate on Election Day topped 7.2 percent." Obama will no doubt blame the current state of the economy on [the Most Honorable] George W. Bush. But Obama has been president for 864 days now, and it is hard to think of a single day of good economic news since Obama took office. When Obama was inaugurated in January 2009, the unemployment rate was 7.6%. Obama's stimulus bill was supposed to prevent the unemployment rate from exceeding 8%. We can see how well that has turned out. (Gary Bauer)

- Father, we are a nation full of people created in Your image to be creative and offer a fulfilling contribution to our culture-even those who don't believe. We ask You to open our eyes and show us how You would have our lives and our work bring You honor and glory. May our purpose in You be unmistakably clear.

- "The Lord's purpose is eternal, the designs of his heart go on through all the generations of man." (Psalm 33:11)

4. ON THE DEBT: HOUSE GOP VS. OBAMA

House Republicans met with Obama at the White House on Wednesday, June 1, in an attempt to find common ground on deficit reduction and economic growth. By most accounts, it was a frosty meeting.

Speaker John Boehner challenged Obama to personally engage in the negotiations. So far, Obama has left the deficit debate up to Vice President Joe Biden. But Boehner told reporters, ". . . at the rate that is going, we'll be right up against the wall," referring to the Treasury Department's August 2nd deadline to raise the debt ceiling. Boehner told Obama, "This is the window of opportunity where we can deal with this on our terms."

Both Speaker Boehner and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell are insisting that Medicare be part of any deal, and Medicare was a major topic of debate at yesterday's White House meeting. (Gary Bauer)

- Many who are aware of what actually went on that meeting saw it as mere "window dressing," with Obama trying to look good but bringing nothing new to the table . . . nor listening to the members who were present. Take up the Sword of the Spirit, and take down the "wall" that the enemy has erected between Republicans and Democrats -- and this [guy] -- in all matters related to our national budget. Call forth true and wise dialogue among members on both sides of the aisle and in all related committees -- House and Senate -- on budget matters so that the work of this nation will go forward unhindered nor crippled. Pray!

- "Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?" (Jer. 23:29)

5. ON MEDICAID: RYAN VS OBAMA

House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan reportedly accused Obama of intentionally distorting his plan. You may recall that in his April speech on deficit reduction President Obama said the Ryan plan would allow our bridges and roads to crumble, force "someone's grandparents" out of nursing homes and tell children with autism or Down syndrome to "fend for themselves."

Rep. Ryan said after the meeting that he explained his proposal to the president "so that in the future, he won't mischaracterize it." Rep. Ryan is right. Even the Associated Press says "Democrats Distort GOP Medicare Plan."

Something has to be done. One former Clinton official wrote this week that Medicare spending "is unsustainable." Unfortunately, Democrats believe they won the recent New York special election with their "Mediscare" tactics. Demagoguery will this be a centerpiece of their 2012 campaign.
Will the American people fall for it? Because of fear tactics, will America continue down Obama's path toward European-style socialism? Or will we change course in 2012 and once again embrace free enterprise and individual responsibility? (Gary Bauer)

- Please agree with us now in prayer:

- "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

6. REPUBLICANS ON BUDGET: CUT, CAP, BALANCE, BURY

More than 760 days -- that's how long it has been since the U.S. Senate could be bothered with passing a budget. Reid (D-Nev.), willing to sacrifice the economic well-being of our nation to score some political points made it clear he has no plans to act on one of the major purposes served by Congress. He told reporters: "There's no need to have a Democratic budget in my opinion. It would be foolish for us to do a budget at this stage."

No Senator Reid, what would be foolish is to continue down this path of inaction as our nation suffers. While the House cranks out plan after economic plan, Sen. Reid seems perfectly content to coast along in a sea of futility. Just last week, the Senate rejected three budgets -- even Obama's budget was such a joke not one senator from either party voted for it.

In short, it's time for the Senate to get to work. That means creating more solutions than obstacles. For starters, members can put their heads together and ensure that systemic reforms are made in federal spending before agreeing to raise the debt ceiling. When they do, leaders would be wise to take a page from the Republican Study Commission and push to Cut, Cap, Balance, and Bury: Cut the deficit -- Cap the spending -- Balance the budget -- Bury ObamaCare. You can help nudge Congress in the right direction. Join the movement by signing our petition to Congress to Cut, Cap, Balance, and Bury! (Family Research Council)

- Take action! - And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses." (Neh. 4:14)

1. H.R. 1006: "THE JERUSALEM EMBASSY AND RECOGNITION ACT OF 2011"

Congressman Dan Burton has introduced H.R. 1006 "To recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, to relocate to Jerusalem the United States Embassy in Israel, and for other purposes." This bill defines U.S. policy towards Jerusalem and the sense of the Congress, in part, as:

(a) POLICY.-It is the policy of the United States to recognize Jerusalem as the undivided capital of the State of Israel, both de jure and de facto.

(b) SENSE OF CONGRESS.-It is the sense of Congress that- (1) Jerusalem must remain an undivided city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group are protected as they have been by Israel since 1967; (2) every citizen of Israel should have the right to reside anywhere in the undivided city of Jerusalem; (3) the President and the Secretary of State should publicly affirm as a matter of United States policy that Jerusalem must remain the undivided capital of the State of Israel; (4) the President should immediately implement the provisions of the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 (Public Law 104-5) and begin the process of relocating the United States Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem; and (5) United States officials should refrain from any actions that contradict United States law on this subject.

- After the groundbreaking and historic speech delivered to the Joint Session of Congress by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pray that Congress will now take action in response. May the 29 standing ovations given to Mr. Netanyahu by this Congress translate into action by the passage of this very important bill, giving our nation a legal foundation in all future talks related to the boundaries of Israel and the moving of our Embassy to Jerusalem. Pray!

- "May the LORD bless you from Zion, He who made heaven and earth." (Psa 134:3)

2. HOUSE RESOLUTION RESPONDS TO U.N. VOTE IN SEPTEMBER

Stop U.S. Funds to U.N. General Assembly If Palestinian State Is Recognized

Congressman Steve Chabot just introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives that calls on America to stop giving money to the United Nations "if the General Assembly adopts a resolution in favor of recognizing a state of Palestine outside of or prior to a final status agreement negotiated between, and acceptable to, the State of Israel and the Palestinians."

This resolution is mainly in response to the Palestinians' attempt to gain recognition of a "state" without first working out a lasting peace agreement with the Israelis. Although this is a non-binding resolution, if honored, and if the U.N. recognized a Palestinian state, the funds would only be withheld from those that are directed to the U.N. General Assembly-not the entire United Nations. (The Weekly Standard)

- Offer praise for this bold move on the part of Congressman Chabot, and pray that this bill will find favor with the majority in Congress -- both House and Senate -- leading to passage. The U.N. must be held accountable if it continues to pursue the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian "state." This bill will serve that purpose. Pray!

- " For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth." (Psalm 37:9)

3. HOUSE AND SENATE RESOLUTIONS SUPPORT ISRAEL'S PEACE TALKS

In the Senate: Sens. Cardin (D-MD), Collins (R-ME), Casey (D-PA), Thune (R-SD), Menendez (D-NJ) and Risch (R-ID) have introduced Senate Resolution 185 calling on the administration to lead the opposition to unilateral Palestinian statehood efforts and urge a return to direct talks. The resolution also warns of major changes in U.S. relations with the Palestinian Authority if it includes an unreformed Hamas and if it continues to pursue statehood outside the negotiating process. Please call Senators and urge them to cosponsor the resolution. To read this Senate Resolution,

In the House: Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) introduced an identical resolution, House Resolution 268. Please call House members and urge them to cosponsor the resolution. To read this House Resolution.

- We want to "lobby heaven" . . . preparing the way for those who lobby on earth. Lift up both of these resolutions in prayer support, for they are surely in the center of God's will. Then, after prayer, take action as suggested above. Pray and act now!

- "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit saith the LORD." (Zechariah 4:6)

4. HOUSE PASSES DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT

Senate Action Next

On Thursday, May 26, the House passed H.R. 1540, the National Defense Authorization Act, by a vote of 322-96, authorizing funding for the military in 2012. The amendments we prayed over last week were included and passed with this bill.

H.R. 1540 now goes to the Senate. The Senate version, S. 981, is sponsored by Senator Carl Levin, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

- Father, we ask for wisdom for our leaders as they decide how to spend money on our military. We have a lot going on in the world, and we ask for wisdom in those missions, and for our leaders as they go before those.

- "Now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one." (Luke 22:36)

5. REP. TIM SCOTT INTRODUCES EMPOWER EMPLOYEES ACT

Rep. Tim Scott (R-SC) has introduced The Empower Employees Act to give federal employees the option of choosing whether or not to contribute to a union by prohibiting the automatic deduction of union dues from any federal government employee's paycheck. Scott pointed out that time and again, when the automatic deduction of union dues has been stopped, there have been dramatic decreases in the amount of dues collected.

Sen. Jim DeMint (SC) will be introducing companion legislation when the Senate reconvenes. "This is a simple issue, workers should have the right to make their own decisions with their paycheck and to choose whether they want to pay dues to union bosses," said Senator DeMint.
Scott asserts that the automatic deduction of union dues is little more than a taxpayer subsidy to organized labor at a time when the unions are battling an overall membership decline. The administrative burden of funding public sector unions should be shifted to the unions and away from the American taxpayer. "The current system uses taxpayer resources to do the work of collecting dues, rather than the unions doing it themselves," Scott said. "Government workers are clearly the target of unions, as recent numbers show less than 7 percent of private sector workers claim union membership while 36 percent of public sector employees are union members." 6. H.R. 2114: REDUCING THE SIZE OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THROUGH ATTRITION ACT OF 2011

Bill Introduced to Cut Federal Workforce by 10% by 2015 For every three federal employees that retire, only one new employee will be hired, according to H.R. 2114, the Reducing the Size of the Federal Government Through Attrition Act of 2011 introduced by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee leaders.

Drawing on recommendations from the President's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Fla., and Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, introduced the bill designed to reduce the size of federal workforce by 10% by 2015. The bill allows for one federal employee to be hired to replace every three that retire or leave their job. The Commission's proposal has been estimated to save taxpayers $127.5 billion over ten years. The legislation fulfills a policy recommended in the Fiscal Year 2012 House Budget Resolution.
The legislation ensures agencies do not abuse the use of service contracts to get around the reduction in the size of their workforce, but it does not prohibit agencies from saving taxpayer money through competition. (Fedsmith.com)

- Father, we're already seeing a transformation in the workforce in our nation, and the strains that can cause. We ask you to raise up a new generation, and give our leaders and those they lead wisdom as to how they will work in the days, weeks, months, and years to come. Bring unexpected benefits from implementing your solutions to our problems.

- "The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." (Numbers 6:26)

7. INTERNET GAMBLING LEGISLATION

While it is unlikely that the Congress will pass a bill to legalize online gambling this year, that doesn't mean that the issue has gone to bed. In April 2011, the founders of the three largest online gambling sites in the U.S. were indicted and charged with bank fraud, money laundering and illegal gambling offenses. The Justice Department has also filed complaint for money laundering seeking $3 billion currently held by companies. The indictment claims that the founders of PokerStars, Absolute Poker, and Full Tilt Poker were involved in a scheme "to deceive United States banks and financial institutions into processing billions of dollars in payments for the poker companies, by, among other things, arranging for the money received from United States gamblers to be disguised as payments to hundreds of non-existent online merchants and other non-gambling businesses."

Unfortunately, this action by the DOJ and FBI has encouraged the poker industry to ramp up its efforts in lobbying for a comprehensive online poker bill. Currently heading the cause in Congress, are Reps. John Campbell and Barney Frank with H.R. 1174, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act. This bill would legalize and tax online poker, an industry that has been found to negatively impact both the elderly and young. While ESPN has publicized gambling as a "sport," they fail to remind the audience of the addictive nature of gambling.

- Father, we thank you for the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 and its enforcement that began in 2008 and continues today. We ask you protect our payment systems from fraud and money laundering with offshore entities that don't care if they undermine the integrity of our monetary system. We thank you for committee leadership that has no plans to take up H.R. 1174 or anything like it. We pray for the Secret Service and their efforts to monitor and protect our country's monetary integrity. Hold us together and protect us from those who would scatter your people away from you.

- "Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked." (Psalm 82:4)

8. "THE STUDENT NON-DISCRIMINATION ACT OF 2011" (H.R.998 & S.555)

These parallel bills both prohibit public school students from being excluded from participating in, or subject to discrimination under, any federally-assisted educational program on the basis of their actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity or that of their associates. (Read more).

Legal experts believe that, if passed, this bill will actually empower the homosexual community to dictate curriculum in all our schools, public and private. As a result, our schools may become a form of "indoctrination centers" for the gay lifestyle.

- Pick up the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and decree the demise of these two bills. Greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world! No matter how the "odds" look, there are more with us than there are with them.

Ask the Lord to forgive the sponsors of these bills, Rep. Jared Polis and Senator Al Franken, for they know not what they do. Draw a bloodline around this travesty, and declare its demise, in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

- "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination."
(Lev. 18:22)

9. OBAMA JUSTICE DEPARTMENT HELPING TO OVERTURN OBAMA HEALTH CARE LAW

The Obama Justice Department has agreed with Liberty Counsel on a key issue regarding Liberty Counsel's lawsuit challenging the Obama health care law. (Yes, you might want to read that again!)

The health care law was originally passed on the insistence that the Individual and Employer Mandate was a penalty fee, and not a tax. In court, however, the Obama Justice Department was defending that provision as a tax. Now, the Obama Justice Department has reversed course and has agreed with Liberty Counsel that the Anti-Injunction Act (AIA), which controls how taxes are challenged in court, does not apply to this case.

Those in the legal community challenging the health care law are thrilled and praising God in a way that only lawyers can!

- Father, we thank You, the God of the semi-colon, that the prayers of 75,000 people have been heard and translated into Your good work in this court case. We thank You for the leadership and the readiness of the Liberty Counsel. We ask You to help them and others continue to stand ready for You. Continue to pave the way forward with Your golden wisdom, that our laws, our legal system, and our health care systems may bring You great honor and glory.

- "Assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." (Matthew 5:18)

10. HHS REJECTS INDIANA MEDICAID CHANGES

Indiana passed House Bill 1210 which contains provisions to end all state-directed funding for businesses that do abortions. Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels: "I have ordered the Family and Social Services Administration to see that Medicaid recipients receive prompt notice of nearby care options. We will take any actions necessary to ensure that vital medical care is, if anything, more widely available than before. Any organization affected by this provision can resume receiving taxpayer dollars immediately by ceasing or separating its operations that perform abortions," he said. Indiana's law bars Planned Parenthood offices in the state from receiving federal money because it provides abortions, among other services (LifeNews.com).

The Health and Human Services Department rejected changes in Indiana's Medicaid plan Wednesday, saying it illegally bans funding for Planned Parenthood, and sought to make clear that a similar fate awaits other states that pass legislation barring any qualified health care provider. State officials signaled they would not accept HHS' decision (AP).

A third pro-life legal group has issued an opinion defending the new law in Indiana that puts abortion limits in place and also revokes funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business. The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) informed LifeNews.com Monday that it will file an amicus brief, representing members of Congress and thousands of Americans, backing a new Indiana law that prohibits the distribution of federal funds it receives to organizations like Planned Parenthood that perform abortions (LifeNews.com).

- Father, we thank you for the leadership of Indiana and their efforts to protect life, and to stop funding for organizations built on profiting from abortion. We ask you to strengthen the hand of those who are seeking to protect life, and to break the back of any who would stand in the way of that hand.

- "Let their table become a snare before them, And their well-being a trap."
(Psalm 69:22)

1. OBAMA HAS PROVOKED BIPARTISAN FURY ON LIBYA

Congressional Republicans and Democrats alike have objected because our involvement in Libya is 19 days past the time when the White House should, by law, have asked Congress to grant further authority for the Libyan intervention under the War Powers Act. Libya, at this moment, involves less money and troops than those committed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Trouble is, the Libyan venture was undertaken under what essentially were false pretexts and in a country in which no vital U.S. interests are at stake.

All of this is background to the War Powers Act discussion now taking place in the capital. Presidents and occupiers of the White House historically have looked for devices to keep Congress out of war-and-peace decisions thought marginal. In the post-Vietnam period, the War Powers Act was enacted in order to keep limited commitments from growing into large ones and, for that matter, to force congressional review of even the limited ones at their outset.

Obama either will heed the calls (of congressional leadership from both parties), and seek congressional approval for the Libyan intervention under the War Powers Act, or risk enraging congressional leaders of both parties.

At this point the administration appears to face two choices: The first is to take the issue to the Congress for approval. The second is to rapidly and massively escalate the military operation in Libya so as to bring down Qadaffi immediately and, then, to present that fait accompli to the American people and Congress.

Libya has been overshadowed by domestic economic problems and the bigger U.S. interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan. But it will come to the forefront within days if it triggers a constitutional crisis. (By Ted Van Dyk, Crosscut.com)

- Father, as we saw three-fourths of House members last week indicate they believe the Libya operation is questionable, illegal or unwise, we ask you to give us a clear mission. Give Qadaffi an exit strategy whether he chooses it or not! Stop the oppression of your people.

- "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear." (Isaiah 59:1).

2. OBAMA'S HOMELAND SECURITY

Obama has nominated David Heyman as Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S.. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and at the same agency, Secretary Napolitano has appointme Arif Alikhan as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development. Both men are devout Muslims (Pathetique), and in her announcement Napolitano made that clear. When Catholics, Jews or Baptists are appointed or hired their religion is not mentioned, but why is that? Pandering to Islam and political correctness would be the answer. Alikan is associated with the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) "a public service agency working for the civil rights of American Muslims." Both men will have top security clearances. Several Muslims at the DHS who have top security clearances are associated with groups that claim Hamas and Hezbollah are humanitarian groups. Meanwhile, Secretary Napolitano has ordered an investigation of the Border Agents who work for her, because they are allegedly "profiling" Muslims at the Canadian border. (Religious Freedom Coalition)

3. OBAMA REGULATORY CZAR CHANGES HIS MIND

Backs Off Call for Government to Attach Lower Value to Older People

Obama's regulatory czar has retreated from a 2003 academic report in which he advocated that the government assign a higher monetary value to the lives of young people than to senior citizens. Cass Sunstein, administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, on Friday testified in front of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations about the Obama administration's plans for reviewing and reducing federal regulations.

"I'm a lot older now than the author with my name was, and I'm not sure what I think about what that young man wrote," Sunstein, 56, told the House panel. "Things written as an academic are not a legitimate part of what we do as a government official. So I am not focusing on sentences that a young Cass Sunstein wrote years ago. So the answer is no." (CNSNews.com) Read more.

- It is true that with age comes wisdom. Offer praise to the Lord that this "older" Cass Sunstein has changed his mind about the value of LIFE, no matter what our age might be. Praise God.

- "In everything, give thanks . . ." (2 Thess. 5:17)

4. OBAMA DECLARES JUNE "LGBT HOMO MONTH"

How Will You Celebrate LGBT HOMO Month?

Obama once again declared June to be "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month." How will you celebrate? You'll have some options -- the president also declared June to be "National Caribbean-American Heritage Month," "African-American Music Appreciation Month" and "Great Outdoors Month."

It was clear which constituency is most important to the president. He devoted only 354 words to his proclamation declaring June "National Caribbean-American Heritage Month." But Obama lavished the homosexual rights movement with 826 words of praise in his presidential proclamation.

Last week, Gallup released a survey which found that Americans, on average, believe that 25% of the population is gay. This is a media-driven delusion. The best estimate of the homosexual population based on demographic research is somewhere between 2% and 4%. Yet such a small number of radical activists seems to have Obama's undivided attention when it comes to "fundamentally transforming" society's most cherished values.

- It really is a sad state of affairs when such a small minority in this nation speaks with such a loud voice. Pray that the people of righteousness -- those who honor and who live according to the Word of God -- will find their voices, too, so that laws and decrees will reflect the heart of all of our people, and not just a few. Pray!

- ". . . those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth, But those cursed by Him shall be cut off." (Psalm 37:22)

5. FEDERAL RESERVE BANK IN RICHMOND FLIES THE RAINBOW FLAG

While the economy is melting down, home values are plummeting and the ranks of the unemployed grow, the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, Virginia, is celebrating. Celebrating what, you ask? Gay pride month, of course! According to this report, the rainbow flag representing LGBT pride will fly below the American flag in front of the Federal Reserve building in Richmond all month long.

This is the same Fed that loaned billions of dollars to foreign banks; refuses to provide any transparency; and is the running the printing presses non-stop, devaluing the dollar and contributing to inflation, including sky-high gas prices. No doubt you are relieved to know it is committed to homosexual rights too. (Gary Bauer; WND)

- Cry out to mercy unto our merciful God, that He not reign down judgment upon this nation, or that His mercy would be found in his verdict. Our people seem to have lost their way . . . pray they will find their way home. Amen.

HOLY (Kadosh)

For this is what the high and lofty One says- he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite." (Isaiah 57:15)

Holy is Your Name; Holiness befits You. Thank You that it is not on my merit that I can approach You, but it is because of the shed Blood of Yeshua, Jesus, that I can approach Your throne of grace, and have the privilege to call You Holy -- Kadosh.

The Daily Brief - Friday, June 3, 2011

"Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. But David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker." (2 Samuel 3:1)

The Daily Brief

1. Unemployment Rate Up, Job Creation Down - (AP)

Employers hired only 54,000 new workers in May, the fewest in eight months, and the unemployment rate rose to 9.1 percent.

More people entered the work force in May. But most of the new entrants couldn't find work. That pushed the unemployment rate up from 9.0 percent in April. The number of unemployed rose to 13.9 million.

- These figures are not just numbers on pieces of paper. These figures tell us that there are now 13.9 MILLION citizens in our nation who are out of work tonight, and whose families are suffering with them. Offer intense prayer for a) the unemployed -- that they find work; b) the unemployed -- that their needs for food, housing, medicine and clothing will be met in the private sector, and particularly by the churches who are now reaching out a helping hand to rescue them; and c) for leaders in government and industry, that they seek the LORD for creative ways to create new jobs and help these folks get off the street and back to work. Pray!

- "Call upon Me and I will show you great and mighty things that You know not." (Jer. 33:3)

2. Obama solicitor general: If you don't like mandate, earn less money - Washington Examiner

Obama's solicitor general, defending the national health care law on Wednesday, told a federal appeals court that Americans who didn't like the individual mandate could always avoid it by choosing to earn less money. . . Sutton interjected, "That wasn't in a single speech given in Congress about this...the idea that the solution if you don't like it is make a little less money."

Neal Kumar Katyal, the acting solicitor general, made the argument under questioning before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, which was considering an appeal by the Thomas More Law Center..) The three-judge panel, which was comprised of two Republican-appointed judges and a Democratic-appointed judge, expressed more skepticism about the government's defense of the health care law than the Fourth Circuit panel that heard the Virginia-based Obamacare challenge last month in Richmond. The Fourth Circuit panel was made up entirely of Democrats, and two of the judges were appointed by Obama himself. Read more.

- Father, we first ask your forgiveness as your body, for allowing the country to be led away from your precepts. We will take our place in prayer and action to ensure your ways rule in our nation. Father, we ask that every secret plan and plot in the health care law to create dependence on the government would be exposed and made known to the public during these hearings. We ask for a return to true free enterprise and trust in You. Lord, let the conscience of the judges hearing these cases be pierced, so that they will pass rulings in favor of the Constitution rather than rulings based on bias or favoritism.

- . . . and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, And reprove with equity for the meek of the earth; . . . (Isa. 11: 3,4)

3. Moody's Warns of Rising Risk on US Credit Rating - CNBC

Moody's Investors Service said Thursday there is a very small but rising risk of a short-lived default by the United States if there is no increase in the statutory debt limit in coming weeks.

- Father, we ask for wisdom directly from your throne to deal with this issue of runaway spending. Father, we ask that you would "gut" what needs to be gutted from our system, to turn our nation into a vessel that would bring forth a sweet fragrance to Your nostrils; please place in the hearts of the people the need to make the changes necessary, even difficult ones.

- Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. (Pr. 24:14)

4. More Than 150 Economists Back Republicans in Debt Fight - NewsMax

More than 150 economists back U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner's call to match any increase in the debt limit with spending cuts of equal size, according to a letter released by the Republican leader's office Wednesday.

- Father, if this is wisdom from Your throne, we ask that it would be implemented. Father, we ask for agreement between the parties as to where the cuts need to be made. We come against party politics in this matter, and declare as the people of the living God, that only what is good for the nation will prevail in these debates.

2. PM ahead of 'Naksa Day': We won't allow border breaches - Jerusalem Post

Netanyahu tells international hi-tech conference that Israel has the right, duty to defend its borders, will act with restraint and determination; blames Iran, Hezbollah for Nakba Day border breaches.

- Father, we ask you to send your angelic host to guard all borders around Israel at all times, especially during this upcoming planned time of Nakba Day. Father, we thank you for Mr. Netanyahu's firmness regarding this matter. We pray that there would be no deaths, and that those trying to cross the borders would be wounded in their legs, as is the plan. We also ask LORD, that the more and more people across the world would be made aware of the truth of who the aggressors truly are in this war with Israel.

- "So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known." (Matt. 10:26)

3. Naksa Day Protests - Background - Embassy of Israel; Washington, D.C.

Given the orchestrated and concerted effort to lead masses of people into protests against Israel this weekend, we felt it important to provide background materials (attached) on these events exclusively for your information and not for distribution.

We are also taking into account the Palestinian effort to seek unilateral recognition by the UN, while increasing tensions on the ground. These coordinated protests may appear spontaneous in order to be likened to the Arab Spring.

The newly created "Naksa Day" protests aim to commemorate the Arab defeat in the 1967 war. These protests are an attempt to repeat and escalate the events of May 15, and the motivation is the denial of Israel's right to exist.

We hope that these attempts will not lead to violence.

Here is the text of the Prime Minister's comments to the people of Israel:

"Two and-a-half weeks ago, on May 15, we marked the day of the establishment of the State of Israel. We witnessed attempts by our enemies to undermine our sovereignty and breach the borders of Israel. Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas were all partners to these provocations. Those same factors are expected in the next few days, once again, to challenge Israel's sovereignty and undermine the borders of the country. Like every country in the world, Israel has the right and the duty to guard its borders and protect them. That is why my instructions are clear: to respond with restraint, yet with the necessary resolve to protect our borders, our communities and our citizens." Read more.

4. Israel's largest underground water source discovered near Jerusalem convention center - Haaretz

Read more.

- It is significant that this amazing news was made public on Wednesday, June 1 -- Jerusalem Day. Note the verses below that point toward this wonderful development for the nation of Israel:

1) "And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be." (Zech.14:8)

2) "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim." (Joel 3:18)

3) "Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar." (Ezekiel 47:1) (See also verses 2-12)

5. Settlers: We'll remember PM's readiness to cede W. Bank - Jerusalem Post

The thunderous applause Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu received in Washington did not drown out what settlers consider to be one of the most dangerous lines in his speech: his clear willingness to cede some West Bank settlements.

- Father, in the perilous times for Israel, we are asking for the wisdom that You gave to Solomon to be given to Mr. Netanyahu. We ask that Your way would be made clear to him and that he would trust in Your wisdom, and not the wisdom of man. Please remove from him any fear of man.

- God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore. Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the men of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.

The unlawful awful rule of lawlessness

Most every year at this time some humanist judge misinterprets the law and rules that there can be no prayer or benediction at a graduation ceremony. This year, it was US District Judge Fred Biery in Texas who ruled that the Medina Valley School District cannot offer a prayer at its graduation otherwise the school is "sponsoring a religion." Valedictorian Angela Hildenbrand is standing up to Judge Biery. She says that her "liberties are being infringed upon by this court's ruling to censor" her speech. And the Liberty Institute has filed suit on behalf of Hildenbrand to challenge the decision. Even the Texas Attorney General is up in arms, saying its part of an ongoing attempt to purge God from the public setting.

Judge Biery should be removed from the bench, disbarred and dethroned. The First Amendment is written in plain English and the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the country. It is based on the Supreme Law of the universe--God's law. It is the social contract with the American people. It says plainly, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." That means hands off, no matter where or in what circumstance religion is exercised. Judge Biery obviously does not know the meaning of plain words or he has another agenda, which in prosecuting his duties as an unbiased source of the law, he is in violation of his oath of office.

An unjust law is no law at all. The definition of unjust is derived from the laws of God as presented in the Holy Bible. The foundation of all law in civil societies is from God's law. This is a historic fact that is traceable to the very beginnings of law in the time of Moses, through the generations into Roman and Greek societies, through the Magna Charter, English Common Law and the US Constitution. It is Biblical and Scriptural to stand against unjust laws and unjust enforcement of laws. When Peter was brought before the authorities for preaching Jesus, Acts 5:29 says, "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men."

Even in Acts 4:18-21, Peter and John had this exchange with the Sadducees: "And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." And by law, you and I and every child are allowed to exercise our right to religion in any setting we wish. Its sad that lawsuits have to be filed against Judges like Biery. In reality, all of Texas should come to the graduation and pray, then run Biery out of the state for the disgraceful and unlawful way he rules.

The Daily Jot - Part Two

Please Pray for us in Texas

As you know, US District Judge Fred Biery in Texas ruled that the Medina Valley School District cannot offer a prayer at its graduation otherwise the school is "sponsoring a religion."

I had written in this morning's Jot that all of Texas should come to the graduation and pray, then run Biery out of the state for the disgraceful and unlawful way he rules.

In fact, not long after the Jot went out this morning, I was invited to Texas by Randy Funston, a Wichita Falls businessman who is head of AGAPE Movement. AGAPE is a Christian-based organization that stands for the return of fiscal responsibility and moral values to our nation's government. Randy is organizing a "One Nation Under God" prayer rally next to the school to pray for the students who are graduating.

He asked me to join him and others as the key note speaker. We also intend to peacefully, yet poignantly protest and challenge Judge Biery's immoral and unlawful ruling. Biery says that anyone offering prayer of any time will be sent to jail.

Judge Biery has no standing as the Constitution's First Amendment is clear on this issue. He should stand down, and we as Americans need to make it clear that this violation of our rights as endowed by God will no longer be tolerated.

If you are near San Antonio and wish to join us, please do so around 7:00 pm at Medina Valley High School near the stadium. If you cannot join us, please stand with us in prayer from that time till 9:00 or so. Thank you for standing with us in person or in spirit!

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Update from CHPP:

We now praise God that this ruling against prayer at the graduation ceremony at Medina Valley High School has been overturned by a higher court. Thank you for your prayers over this vital issue all this week. Our God has heard, and He has answered. Praise God.

North Dakota to Vote on Religious Liberties Amendment

Summary: "The people have a chance to vote for our First Amendment."

In June 2012, voters in North Dakota will get to vote on the Religious Liberty Restoration Amendment, which would provide the best guarantee of lasting protection for citizens' religious liberties. It is intended to restore religious protections eroded in recent years by decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court.

The North Dakota Family Alliance turned in more than 30,000 petition signatures in April; 26,904 valid signatures were required to qualify the measure for the ballot.

"We know that on a daily basis, throughout the country, individuals are being either persecuted or discriminated against because of their religious beliefs," said Tom Freier, the executive director of the North Dakota Family Alliance.

"(Now), the people have a chance to vote for our First Amendment -- freedom of religion and the expression thereof."

Consequences of Biblical proportions --The pending American depression

CNBC is carrying a story where market strategist Peter Yastrow predicts "We're on the verge of a great, great depression." Yastrow cites as factors that homeowners are upside down in their mortgages, the slow pace of the technology sector, and the Federal Reserve's control of interest rates. He says, "What we've got right now is almost near panic going on with money managers and people who are responsible for money" because they cannot find a yield. Another fund manager quoted by CNBC says, "It seems that almost every bit of data about the health of the US economy has disappointed expectations recently."

There is a premise here that seems to be overlooked. I think it is overlooked because all the "smart" people from Yale, Harvard, Oxford, etc., were the ones who came up with the idea and it goes against the laws of God. That premise is that one cannot spend a household, a business or a government into prosperity. In the case of America, the economic advisors in whom our past two presidents have trusted, sold the idiotic idea that the government could borrow and spend its way to prosperity. It doesn't work. Anybody who has ever had to balance a checkbook knows this. The Bible says in Romans 13:8, "Owe no man anything."

The Lord gave the nation of Israel many commandments, that if followed, the nation would be blessed and as a people, they would prosper. Deuteronomy 15:5, 6 says, "Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee." These are principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. But our government in America has denied God, separated itself from him, and has lost its bearings of good sense and of sound responsibility.

We are now beginning to see the harsh reality of the folly of these godless humanists who coveted the work of your hands through taxes and policies, and have squandered your inheritance. The spending that these scoundrels incur on your behalf piles up at a rate of about $100,000 every 20 seconds. And at some point, that one dollar that falls upon the national debt will cause it all to crash down--the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back. Each dollar the government takes from you and, in turn, borrows more to add to this debt, is a warning that we as a people must make a radical turn back to the Lord and His commandments or face the consequences. It is time to measure leadership against the plumb line of scripture rather than by the feather that tickles the ear.

'Universal' cancer jab: Vaccine that stops all tumours in their tracks could be here in two years

A 'universal' vaccine that could revolutionize the treatment of cancer could be available in just two years. The TeloVac jab is part of a new generation of drugs that use the body's own defenses to fight the disease, stopping tumours in their tracks. TeloVac has already been given to hundreds of Britons with pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest forms of the disease.

But it is hoped it will be effective against many other tumors, including those of the skin, lung and liver. Breast and prostate cancers may also be within its grasp. Together, the six forms of the disease claim more 70,000 lives a year in the UK. In the case of pancreatic cancer, which killed actor Patrick Swayze, survival rates have barely improved in the past 40 years, and patients typically die within six months of diagnosis. Just 3 per cent survive five years, and it is the fifth biggest cancer killer in the UK. Although vaccines usually prevent disease, the TeloVac jab is designed as a treatment.

Rather than attacking the cancer cells, like many existing drugs, it harnesses the power of the immune system to fight the tumors. It works by encouraging the immune system to seek out and destroy an enzyme called telomerase. Found at high levels in many cancer cells, telomerase effectively makes them immortal, allowing them to live on when healthy cells would die - easing the growth and spread of the tumor.
