Focus on Israel

1. Gantz concedes failure to form coalition, all but assuring new elections - Times Of Israel

Blue and White leader Benny Gantz on Wednesday night informed President Reuven Rivlin he had failed to form a governing coalition, paving the way to a shocking third round of elections in under a year.

The centrist leader conceded defeat in a phone call with the president, ahead of a televised speech, after unity talks with Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud and Avigdor Liberman's Yisrael Beytenu broke down.

The announcement came several hours before his midnight deadline. With the declaration, the country's year-long spiraling political chaos entered uncharted territory, formally laid out in law but never before exercised: Israeli lawmakers now have 21 days during which any 61 Knesset members can back any MK as prime minister, including Netanyahu or Gantz. If that doesn't occur, Israel will go to unprecedented third elections in under a year.

2. 'You aren't immune': Defense minister threatens Iran leaders after Syria strikes- Times Of Israel

Israeli leaders on Wednesday morning issued fresh threats to Iran after the military conducted overnight airstrikes on the Islamic Republic's Quds Force in Syria, with the defense minister saying even Tehran's leaders were "not immune."

In the predawn hours, the Israeli Air Force launched a large reprisal airstrike operation, targeting dozens of Iranian and Syrian military sites in Syria in response to a rocket attack on northern Israel the day before. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said that at least 11 people were killed, including seven "foreigners" who were likely Iranian, and that others were injured during the overnight strikes.

3. 240 Congresspeople to UN: Hezbollah threatens Israeli security - Jerusalem Post

WASHINGTON - A majority of the House of Representatives lawmakers - over 240 from both parties - sent a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General on Monday urging him to enforce Security Council resolution 1701.

Four Congresspeople from both parties spearheaded the letter: Reps. Elaine Luria, Lee Zeldin, Haley Stevens and Michael Waltz. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) thanked the four publicly on Twitter for "pressing [António Guterres] to address the threat to Israel from the terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon."

The letter calls on Guterres to lead an international effort to limit Hezbollah's capabilities "and to avoid the devastating but avoidable outcome of which you have previously warned."

4. Jerusalem to host largest-ever event on anti-Semitism; Putin, Macron to attend - Times Of Israel

President Reuven Rivlin said Wednesday that some 30 world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron, will be coming to Israel in January to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day in Jerusalem, in what is expected to be the largest-ever gathering focused on combating anti-Semitism.

Rivlin spoke at a press conference at the President's Residence in Jerusalem ahead of the Fifth World Holocaust Forum, which will take place on January 23, 2020, at the Yad Vashem museum in the capital under the title "Remembering the Holocaust, Fighting Antisemitism." The president said that Putin, Macron and Germany President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen were among the leaders who had confirmed their attendance at the "one of a kind" event.

5. Orthodox Jewish Man Walking to Synagogue Brutally Stabbed in New York Town - Algemeiner

A 30-year-old Orthodox Jew was in critical condition on Wednesday morning after he was stabbed by unknown assailants in the southern New York town of Monsey while making his way to morning services at a synagogue.

Local media reported that police received a call at 5:49 a.m. alerting them to a pedestrian who was apparently struck by a vehicle outside the synagogue located at 2 Howard Drive. However, when officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the unconscious victim had been stabbed.

The man was immediately rushed to Westchester Medical Center by a Hatzolah ambulance for emergency surgery.

The Daily Brief

1. White House, Pence Dispute Gordon Sondland's 'Quid Pro Quo' Claim - Epoch Times

The White House on Wednesday disputed a claim from Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, saying there were no quid pro quo demands made to Ukraine by President Donald Trump or other White House officials.

Sondland told House impeachment investigators Wednesday that he had concerns about a quid pro quo that tied a White House visit for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigations that Trump had wanted into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter, as well as alleged 2016 election interference.

"Everyone was in the loop," Sondland said at the hearing. "It was no secret." He added, "Was there a 'quid pro quo? The answer is yes." Sondland said that he received no direct orders or much communication from Trump himself but that he was acting on behalf of Rudy Giuliani, Trump's personal attorney. Giuliani has denied his assertion.

In his prior testimony, Sondland recalled a conversation with the president where Trump said, "I want nothing. I don't want to give them anything and I don't want anything from them. I want [Ukraine President Volodymyr] Zelensky to do the right thing."

The EU ambassador also said Trump never told him directly that aid was conditioned on meetings or investigations. "Trump never told me aid was conditioned," he said in the hearing, adding it was his "personal guess." (Read more)

- Father God, it is obvious Sondland contradicts himself several times in his testimony today. Let the American people see these contradictions and expose the lies told during this whole illegal impeachment inquiry in the name of Jesus.

- "There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers."(Proverbs 6:16-19 )

2. 'Multiple Discrepancies' in Testimonies Lead Republicans to File Formal Subpoena Requests - Townhall

Ranking member Devin Nunes (R-CA) announced at Wednesday's public impeachment inquiry hearing that Republicans have filed a formal request to subpoena the Bidens and the whistleblower for sworn testimony.

"The whistleblower's testimony is necessary for a full and fair understanding of all relevant facts," the Republican ranking members and chairs write. "The Inspector General of the Intelligence Community reported that the whistleblower had a political bias against President Trump and public reports suggest that the whistleblower worked closely with former Vice President Joe Biden.

In addition, there are multiple discrepancies between the whistleblower's complaint - the piece of evidence central to the Democrats' inquiry - and the closed-door testimony of the witnesses. For these reasons, we must assess the whistleblower's credibility and the sources he or she utilized to develop the anonymous complaint." (Read more)

- Father God, if in fact the whistleblower does testify, we pray your will to be done, and allow the lies and corruption to be exposed through his testimony just like it did when Mueller finally testified in the Russia probe. Allow the eyes and the hearts of the American people to be opened and see the abuse of power and corruption taking place.

- "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."(John 8:32 )

3. Ukrainian Indictment Claims $7.4 Billion Obama-Linked Laundering, Puts Biden Group Take At $16.5 Million - ZeroHedge

An indictment drawn up by Ukraine's Office of the Prosecutor General against Burisma owner Nikolai Zlochevsky claims that Hunter Biden and his partners received $16.5 million for their 'services' - according to Ukrainian MP Alexander Dubinsky of the ruling Servant of the People Party.

Dubinsky made the claim in a Wednesday press conference, citing materials from an investigation into Zlochevsky and Burisma. "Zlochevsky was charged with this new accusation by the Office of the Prosecutor General but the press ignored it," said the MP. "It was issued on November 14."

"The son of Vice-President Joe Biden was receiving payment for his services, with money raised through criminal means and money laundering," he then said, adding "Biden received money that did not come from the company's successful operation but rather from money stolen from citizens." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray in the name of Jesus that your justice will prevail in this indictment. And we pray in the name of Jesus that those who have lied, cheated, and deceived for decades finally be held accountable for their actions, and the hurt and pain they caused the American people and others around the world.

-" he reveals the deep things of darkness, and brings other darkness into light."
( Job 12:22 )

4. FBI's vetting of informants like Christopher Steele slammed by inspector general - John Soloman Reports

The former British spy Christopher Steele and his now infamous Russia collusion dossier became a powerful reminder that the FBI often relies on confidential human sources, or informants, to make cases. And investigations are only as good as the information fed to agents.

It turns out, according to a stinging new report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, that the FBI has done a poor job over the last decade vetting informants for their credibility and reliability.

The most troubling revelation in the report, however, may be that some of the FBI analysts used to vet informants complained they were "discouraged from documenting conclusions and recommendations" about an informant's credibility or reliability. Such behavior "may have increased the likelihood that red flags or anomalies were omitted" about long-term informants, the 63-page report warned. Such concerns were widely held. (Read more)

- Father God, we forgive those who have worked tirelessly to hide the truth. We also forgive those who have sabotaged others who have tried to come forward with "Red flag" warnings and information "about informants credibility or reliability." We ask that you repay what the devil stole sevenfold!

- "Do not despise a thief who steals because he is hungry, but the thief who is caught must restore sevenfold (Proverbs 6:30, 31).

5. Senate Sets Date For FISA Abuse Hearing - Daily Caller

The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on Dec. 11 to examine the findings from a Justice Department inspector general's investigation into the FBI's alleged abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court during the Trump investigation, the committee said Monday. The report of the investigation is expected to be released soon after Thanksgiving. Attorney General William Barr said on Nov. 13 that the release of the report is "imminent."

Michael Horowitz, the inspector general, has recently invited FBI and Justice Department witnesses interviewed as part of the investigation to review the report for accuracy. That is considered a final step before the report will be released.

Republicans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the report, which will look at whether the FBI misled the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in applications for warrants to spy on Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser. Investigators relied heavily on the unverified Steele dossier to argue that there was probable cause to believe that Page was working as a Russian agent while he was on the Trump team. (Read more)

- Father, uncover all the secrets and darkness surrounding the FBI's alleged abuse.

- "It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him. (Daniel 2:22)

6. Senate eyes forcing House to vote again on stopgap as deadline looms - The Hill

Senators are weighing bouncing a stopgap spending bill back to the House with only days until the shutdown deadline. The concern, according to Republicans, is that the legislation that the CR was attached to in the House would prevent the Senate from formally going to conference later this year on a package of fiscal 2020 bill.

Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) said it appeared likely that the CR would be sent back to the House, forcing the chamber to vote again before leaving town on Thursday for the weeklong Thanksgiving break.

There is also discussion that Republicans could try to make substantive changes to the spending bill over concerns about its cost. Shelby said he expected Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) to raise a point of order against part of the funding bill. If Lankford or other Republicans are successful, that would strip out parts of the House legislation. (Read more)

- Father, we pray our lawmakers will work out their differences on the spending bill before the holiday to avoid a shutdown.

- Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. (Proverbs 13:10)

7. McConnell: Pelosi 'Has Refused to Allow a Vote' on USMCA Trade Deal - Epoch Times

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) decried House Democrats' obstruction of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal, alleging that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has repeatedly promoted the idea that the deal is close to being voted on.

"Speaker Pelosi has refused to allow a vote," McConnell said from the Senate floor, reported The Hill. "In public, House Democrats insist and insist and insist that they care about more things than simply impeaching the president. They insist that they want to work together and legislate. But actions speak louder than words."

"It appears there's no governing priority, no matter how bipartisan, no matter how beneficial to American families, that will not take a back seat to impeachment," he said. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that a vote would be allowed on the U.S. - Mexico-Canada trade deal. May House Speaker Pelosi be held accountable to take action on other legislation besides impeaching the president.

- "But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load."
(Galatians 6:4-5)

8. Foreign-Born Researchers At US Agencies Were Secretly Working For China And Recruiting Others, Senate Report Finds - Daily Caller

Foreign-born researchers working at U.S. agencies secretly joined China's payroll, sending sensitive U.S.-funded research to the country while U.S. government agencies took almost no defensive measures against a major recruitment operation, a Senate investigation found.

China's Thousand Talents Plan (TTP) aims to get foreign governments to finance the communist power's military and economy by buying off researchers who are doing work abroad. The experts apply to the program, and if approved by the Communist Party, they join China's payroll and sign secret side agreements that the experts will share their research with that country, according to the investigation.

Some of the information captured by TTP had significant military value. "China wins twice. First, the American taxpayer funds China's research and development. Second, China uses that research to improve its economic and military status," Sen. Rob Portman, an Ohio Republican who chairs the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, said in a statement. (Read more)

- Father, hold these U.S. government agencies accountable for not taking defensive measures against this major recruitment operation by China. Protect our military from the information that was captured.

- They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. Their heart prepares deceit." (Job 15:35)

9. Space Command Chief Outlines Advances as Space War-Fighting Threats Mount - Epoch Times

Gen. John Raymond, leader of the U.S. Space Command said he was eager for Congress to pass the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to work on the sixth military branch of the armed forces.

A growing number of U.S. officials and government commissions have warned about the growing threat from countries like China and Russia who have been advancing military and warfighting objectives in space, including developing new anti-satellite weapons. Experts told The Epoch Times that these threats to America's national security, coupled with the potential loss of American space-dominance, is why an American warfighting space force is necessary.

Raymond said the "highest priority" for the command is developing operational plans exclusively for the space domain, for which they have started building the campaign plan that should be completed early in 2020. The command will then build a planning team to begin work on developing a complete proposal for conducting joint military operations (OPLAN). (Read more)

- Father, strengthen the United States from the growing threat of China and Russia which have advanced military and warfighting objectives in space. Give wisdom and strategy in creating an American warfighting space force.

- Is there anything of which one might say, "See this, it is new"? Already it has existed for ages Which were before us.(Ecclesiastes 1:10)

10. U.S. Deploys Additional Troops to Middle East to Counter Iran - Free Beacon

The Trump administration informed Congress on Tuesday that it has deployed 3,000 additional troops to the Middle East to help combat the growing threat posed by Iran. "United States Armed Forces have been deployed to the Middle East to protect United States interests and enhance force protection in the region against hostile action by Iran and its proxy forces," President Donald Trump informed Congress in a letter.

"Iran has continued to threaten the security of the region, including by attacking oil and natural gas facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on September 14, 2019. To assure our partners, deter further Iranian provocative behavior, and bolster regional defensive capabilities, additional United States Armed Forces have been ordered to deploy to the Middle East."

A portion of the American forces have already arrived in Saudi Arabia, and the rest will arrive in the coming weeks, according to the White House. Radar and missile systems also have been deployed to help address the threat of Iranian attacks on oil interests. (Read more)

- Father, protect us from the growing threat posed by Iran. Give our military strength and might to protect United States interests in the region.

- Who is the King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle. (Psalm 24:8)

Prophetic truth or consequences

I just couldn't bear to read all the news stories this morning. Part of the reason is that I was in New York City yesterday and was bombarded all day with CNN and other counterfeit news about the impeachment hearings. If you take a step back and just observe, what do you see? I see a news media that is using any small thing they can to insinuate, cast doubt, infer, incite and otherwise confer that the President deserves to be removed from office. It appears that there is no "other" side to the story. It's all bad, all the time. Rasmussen reports that 53% of likely voters believe the media is trying to help impeach Donald Trump. To me, the other 47% have no idea how to discern the truth if it hit them in the face.

Discerning the truth is a lost art, if ever it was an art. Ephesians 5:6 says, "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience." There are consequences to being deceived. Christ said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Then he went on to explain a chronology of events prophesied to occur of his coming and the end of the world. Yet, people still argue over when and how these things will take place, even though Christ also said in John 8:32 that if you continue in his word, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Truth is key to living as a disciple of the Christ. He said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." But if one doesn't recognize or discern truth, there are consequences. Deception is an art in of itself. What you are seeing and hearing every day is deception. A little bit of truth makes a better lie. So if politicians and the news media can weave just a mustard seed of truth into their narrative, it supports the lie they want you to accept. Christ confronted the Pharisees in John 8:44-45, "You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, you believe me not."

The Pharisees were so full of lies that they could not believe the truth. So it is with many politicians and the news media. Their agenda is more important than the truth. Christ spoke of how when he leaves he will send the Spirit of truth to guide the disciples, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth." And this is how you discern truth to this very day. First, can you determine whether someone is of Christ or not? Remember, by their fruits you will know them. Then determine whether what they say is truth. If the Holy Spirit is guiding you, truly guiding you, you will know the truth. If you do not recognize the truth, there are consequences. Discern the truth and act on it.

Remembering JFK

Remembering JFK:

Friday, November 22nd, is the 56th anniversary of his assassination

Dear Friends,

Tomorrow, Friday, November 22, we will not publish the Daily Brief, per our usual weekly format. So instead, we do want to join you today in honoring the memory of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, who served as the 35th President of the United States of America.

We all know that President Kennedy died under horrible circumstances, when an assassin's bullet took his life in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas at 12:30 p.m. that day. Upon hearing the news, the whole nation froze and went into shock; and now, in 2019, our nation still remembers.
Please pause with us this Friday at 12:30 p.m. CST (1:30 p.m. EST) and offer a prayer for the Kennedy family, and for our nation, on the 56th anniversary of this tragedy. In addition, let's offer a special prayer of PROTECTION for the one who sits today in the Oval Office, President Donald John Trump. Let's also offer a special prayer for the members of the Secret Service, the FBI, the D.C. police, and others who are charged with the mission to secure President Trump's safety, every hour of every day.
In His Grace,

Pro-Life Legal Team to Fight Back after Planned Parenthood Wins $1.3M in Sting Videos Case

"This profoundly unjust verdict concludes a trial stacked from day one by a pro-abortion activist judge. Still, the testimony heard-including stunning admissions that Planned Parenthood's baby parts buyer sold the beating hearts and fully intact heads of innocent children killed in potentially illegal abortions-has further exposed the truth about abortion industry brutality and greed." -Marjorie Dannenfelser, President-Susan B. Anthony List

"This case is far from over," Dhillon insisted. Daleiden "had a lot of defenses, he had a lot of witnesses we weren't allowed to call, evidence we weren't allowed to show the jury."

"Among the most important things we'll be appealing is the court barring us from putting on evidence to support many of our defenses, barring certain witnesses and barring key evidence," the lawyer explained. "The jury only saw a very slanted and one-sided and blindered position. We should have gotten a different result."

The case centered on the actions of Daleiden, who leads the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), and Sandra Merritt. The two posed as human tissue procurers for the fake company BioMax to reveal how Planned Parenthood profits off of selling the body parts of aborted human babies. After CMP released the sting videos, many states launched investigations, and the Department of Justice opened an investigation into Planned Parenthood in 2017.

Planned Parenthood has repeatedly denied the allegations that it profited from the sale of aborted baby body parts, but Dhillon said that during the trial the abortion giant admitted the words in the videos were genuine.

The jury ruled that Daleiden and his allies - including Merritt, Albin Rhomberg, and Troy Newman - were guilty of breach of contract, fraud, state and federal recording violations, conspiracy, racketeering, unfair business practices, and trespass. The jury awarded Planned Parenthood and certain affiliates $870,000 in punitive damages and $478,000 in compensation for security costs and changes to their vetting process. If the RICO charges stand, that $478,000 will be tripled.

Dhillon insisted that the RICO charges are particularly unlikely to stand, however. "RICO requires a pattern of activity over a period of years. There is really no evidence submitted that buying a fake id and giving it to somebody is a RICO," she told PJ Media. "Planned Parenthood sets up fake shell companies to build its clinics. Planned Parenthood warns people at its conferences that they should be careful speaking because it's not private."

Equal Rights Amendment ALERT!

Equal Rights Amendment ALERT!

Saints of God:

The Equal Rights Amendment is suddenly back in the news today!

Please read the four articles, below, to learn of the status of this amendment and how you can take action to defeat it.

The ERA is a threat to our freedom and to our Constitution. Please make this issue a matter of serious prayer, and of action. Thank you.

Rev. Pierre Bynum
Chaplain & National Prayer Director

> > > Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) -- In the November 5th election, Virginians put both houses of their General Assembly into the hands of the Democrats. With controversial Democrat Ralph Northam in the Governor's House, the state apparatus will be under complete Democratic Party control.

Already, an effort is underway among Virginians to ratify the Federal Equal Rights Amendment. Passed by Congress in 1972, only 35 of the 38 states (3/4) required by the U.S. Constitution to ratify the amendment had done so by the March 22, 1979 deadline. The Legislatures of four of those states then voted to rescind their ratification before the deadline. A fifth state voted to sunset their ratification as of the deadline. In 1978, Congress voted to extend the ratification deadline to June 30, 1982, but no new states ratified.

In 2017, in hopes of an ERA revival, Nevada, and in 2018, Illinois, voted to ratify despite the deadline having passed. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an advocate for the ERA, has written that any ERA ratification process would have to start all over, but last week Chairman Jerry Nadler and the House Judiciary Committee voted to pass a bill to extend the ratification period again along party lines (21-11).

In an earlier House Resolution 216 Democrats and 2 Republicans voted in favor of such a the move -- 218 votes are sufficient to pass the bill. The Equality Act passed earlier this year by Congress, which redefines "sex" to include "sexual orientation" and "gender identity". It would not only remove legal protection of women and girls for separate public restrooms, scholarships, sports teams, etc., it would also enshrine abortion on demand, taxpayer funding for abortion, and end conscience protections for medical workers who object to abortion.

- Father, most Americans have little understanding about euphemistic titles like "Equal Rights Amendment" or "Equality Act." Protect the American people from deliberately ambiguous and contradictory use of words to mislead and manipulate voters, common in politics today. Protect us from tragically misguided efforts to redefine sacred words like "man," "woman," "family," "marriage," etc., in an effort to overthrow your created order. May your people arise to teach the nations everything you have commanded us. Restore your moral order to our backslidden nation. The blind lead the blind, Lord, and both are falling into the ditch. Intervene, Oh God! Raise up a new generation of leaders like Phyllis Schlafly in our day to lead your people from the brink of cultural self-destruction! Please stop the so-called "Equality Act" and "Equal Rights Amendment" and help us to embrace your wisdom and liberty and not subjugate ourselves to immoral elitists who will redefine sacred things, mislead our children, and subject Christians to abuse and persecution.

> > > You can take action to protest passage of the ERA by going here.

While the impeachment hearings are going on and taking all the attention, a dangerous movement has been quietly gaining steam. The proposed Equal Rights Amendment from the 1970s that was never ratified is back. Now that activists have redefined sex to mean "chosen gender," this Amendment, if ratified, will open a Pandora's Box of new applications that center around gender identification. If it's ratified, the noble-sounding amendment would actually make women vulnerable in many ways. Women stand to lose their safe spaces - in women's shelters, in prisons, in dressing rooms, in restrooms. Women athletes will no longer have access to equal athletic opportunities or athletic scholarships. The list goes on. We invite you to take action--click here.

A little background: The Equal Rights Amendment proposed in the 1970s, was originally created to bolster women's rights for equality in pay, hiring, and opportunities. This Amendment was championed by liberal feminist groups that sought to demand women's rights and scorned traditional family values. Fast forward to years later, when women are the majority of university students, are pulling down similar salaries, and are entering new fields formerly dominated by men, this Amendment is unnecessary and actually destructive. Beware--the women that the ERA originally promised to protect will now become the victims if the Amendment is resurrected and ratified in 38 states. Currently, it is ratified in 37. States CAN rescind their earlier ratification. Ratification in 38 states would mean this is included as an amendment to the Constitution. Let your lawmaker know that the Equal Rights Amendment is not helpful to women, and should not be ratified.

Thanks for taking action in addition to your prayer!

Republican leader warns against resurrecting dead Equal Rights Amendment - WND

A House Republican leader is warning fellow members against supporting an effort to resurrect a plan from nearly 50 years ago for an Equal Rights Amendment. Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., said in a statement as a House committee considered H.J. Res. 79 that Congress simply "doesn't have the constitutional authority to retroactively revive a failed constitutional amendment and subject citizens in all 50 states to the current political trend in just one state."

That plan purportedly would "remove the deadline" for the ratification of the ERA. The movement has been around for some time. A Virginia legislative panel voted a year ago to support the idea that Congress can vote to "remove" a deadline for the failed ERA.

That, under the theory of its advocates, would allow the last few votes to be held to pass the ERA, originally proposed in the 1970s. (Read more)

- Father we bind this plan in the mighty name of Jesus and declare this idea dead on arrival. Let no action be taken to create special groups within our Constitution, as the document already protects all citizens.

- "Do not move the ancient boundary which your fathers have set." (Proverbs 22:28)

Statement by the Virginia Family Foundation

Leading up to the pivotal November elections we explained what the agenda would look like if pro-abortion and big government legislators gained control of the House of Delegates and Senate, and now that agenda is becoming a reality. And by these first few bills put forward, the new majority, led by infanticide-pushing Ralph Northam, has made its statement about its top priorities for Virginia: * HJ 1 - Passage of the so-called "Equal Rights Amendment" * HB 1 - Absentee voting for any reason in any election * HB 2 - Restrictions on firearm purchases by law-abiding citizens * HB 3 - Enshrining "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" as specially protected classes in housing laws * HB 4 - Legalizing full-scale casino gaming across Virginia

. . . Of course the crown jewel for the ideological left this session will be passing the so-called Equal Rights Amendment, which threatens to enshrine abortion into the U.S. Constitution. With a new majority in power in the legislature, pro-abortion groups are no longer concerned about hiding the ERA's true objective - a constitutional right to abortion. In fact, according to the abortion rights advocacy group NARAL just this past week, ratification of the ERA "would reinforce the constitutional right to abortion by clarifying that the sexes have equal rights, which would require judges to strike down anti-abortion laws because they violate both the constitutional right to privacy and sexual equality

"All the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord." (Ezra 3:11)

You ask what makes me happy, My heart so free from care; It is because my Savior In mercy heard my prayer; He brought me out of darkness, And now the light I see; O blessèd, loving Savior! To Him the praise shall be.

I will shout His praise in glory, And we'll all sing hallelujah In Heaven by and by; I will shout His praise in glory, And we'll all sing hallelujah In Heaven by and by.

I was a friendless wanderer, Till Jesus took me in, My life was full of sorrow, My heart was full of sin; But when the blood, so precious, Spoke pardon to my soul, O blissful, blissful moment! 'Twas joy beyond control.

I wish that every sinner Before His throne would bow; He waits to give them welcome, He longs to bless them now; If they but knew the rapture That in His love I see, They'd come and shout salvation, And sing His praise with me.

I mean to live for Jesus While here on earth I stay, And when His voice shall call me To realms of endless day, As one by one we gather, Rejoicing on the shore, We'll shout His praise in glory, And sing forevermore.

Signs and Wonders

The sunset sky is about to become even more beautiful than usual. Venus and Jupiter are converging for a close encounter in evening twilight that will decorate the southwestern horizon for the rest of November. "The two planets are getting closer," reports Peter Lowenstein who photographed them last night from his back garden in Mutare, Zimbabwe.

"A break in the weather after the onset of the rains provided a good Southern Hemisphere view," says Lowenstein. "I can't wait for next week when the conjunction is at its best." At closest approach on Nov. 24th, Venus and Jupiter will be only 1.4 degrees apart--about the width of your index finger held at arm's length. On Nov. 27th and 28th, the crescent Moon will join the show, forming a celestial triangle that people in the USA will want to go outside and see after Thanksgiving dinner. ( Read more.

"I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke." (Acts 2:19)

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes all who wish to pray for our leaders to join us in prayer for our nation. You may sign up to receive our alerts by sending an email to us at requesting that your name be added to our list of subscribers.
