SCOTUS May Rule on Trump Taxes

Chief Justice Roberts Blocks Order Forcing Trump to Surrender Taxes

Chief Justice John Roberts ordered an indefinite delay Monday in the House of Representatives' demand for President Donald Trump's financial records to give the Supreme Court time to figure out how to handle the high-stakes dispute.

Roberts' order contains no hint about what the court ultimately will do.

The court's hold could last a matter of days or weeks, if the court is willing to let an appeals court ruling in favor of the House remain in place without granting full review of the case. But the delay could extend for months if the justices decide they need to hear arguments and issue a written opinion.

Earlier Monday, the House said it would agree to a brief halt for the orderly filing of legal briefs, while opposing any lengthy delay. Those written arguments will give the justices a basis to decide whether they will jump into the tussle between Congress and the president.

Last week, Trump made an emergency appeal to ask the Supreme Court to block the enforcement of a subpoena issued by a House committee to Trump's accountants. The House has until Thursday to respond, Roberts said.

The high court has a separate pending request from Trump to block a subpoena from a New York prosecutor for Trump's tax returns.

The justices next meet in private Friday and could discuss what to do with the House subpoena. Without some intervention by the high court, a ruling by the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., in favor of the House was set to take effect Wednesday.

The House Committee on Oversight and Reform would have been able to try to enforce the subpoena to the Mazars USA accounting firm. (Newsmax)

- We pray for all compromise to be removed from the Supreme Court justices and that they are clear-eyed and focused on the Constitution and following God's judgment. Let them decide to hear this appeal on behalf of our President, Father, and may there be a fair and just adjudication of this issue before God and man.
- "But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." (Matthew 5:37)

Focus on Israel

1. West Bank settlements not illegal, Pompeo announces in historic shift - Jerusalem Post

In a historic reversal of US policy, the Trump administration announced on Monday that it does not view Israeli settlements in the West Bank as illegal. The policy change was announced by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington.

"After carefully studying all sides of the legal debate, this administration agrees with president Reagan," Pompeo said in reference to Ronald Reagan's position that settlements were not inherently illegal. "The establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not per se inconsistent with international law."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Pompeo, saying "the United States adopted an important policy that rights a historical wrong when the Trump administration clearly rejected the false claim that Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria are inherently illegal under international law.

"This policy reflects an historical truth - that the Jewish people are not foreign colonialists in Judea and Samaria. In fact, we are called Jews because we are the people of Judea."

2. Netanyahu: Arab-backed government will be 'celebrated in Tehran, Ramallah' - World Israel News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday night assailed the Blue and White party, his arch political rivals, for their apparent willingness to establish a minority government supported by the Arab Members of Knesset (MK), a development he said will be "celebrated in Tehran and Ramallah."

Netanyahu addressed an emergency event held by his Likud party in Tel Aviv "in a fateful moment for the State of Israel."

"Blue and White leaders Benny Gantz, Gabi Ashkenazi, and Boogie Ya'alon decided to form a minority government that will rely on the members of the Joint Arab List," he warned.

3. Rivlin bemoans that party leaders seem to 'want another election' - World Israel News

President Reuven Rivlin said Monday that he is bracing for an unprecedented third Israeli round of Knesset elections as the formation of a new government remains elusive, reports the Jerusalem Post.

"We must find a way for the two major parties to join forces, but it seems that their leaders want another election," he said. "Two elections in a year is enough," he maintained, though bemoaning that "we may face another election."

According to the report, Rivlin was responding to a question from a delegate at a gathering of the B'nai Brith World Center about his thoughts regarding the political turmoil grasping the country.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party and Blue and White, headed by MK Benny Gantz, finished tied in April's election, and Blue and White finished one seat ahead of the Likud went Israelis went to the polls again in September.

4. Mass Protests Erupt Throughout Iran, Central Bank Burned Down - Breaking Israel News

Following the rise in fuel prices, mass civil unrest has broken out throughout Iran. The Ayatollah supported a decision to increase the cost of gasoline by at least 50%. Khamenei appeared to be blaming foreign enemies for what he described as "sabotage" and called those setting public property on fire "thieves". Meanwhile, Protestors have burned down Iran's Central Bank.

In the tweet below, protestors can be heard chanting "death to the dictator".

The Ayatollah blamed his decision to increase gas prices on "expert opinion" and should, therefore, enjoy backing. The hike was an effort to compensate for the renewed US sanctions placed on the regime.

5. Emergency travel warning for Jerusalem, West Bank, Gaza - U.S. Embassy - Jerusalem Post

The U.S. embassy in Jerusalem on Monday warned Americans about traveling in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, soon after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the United States was softening its position on Israel's Jewish settlements.

"The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens in or considering travel to or through Jerusalem, the West Bank, or Gaza to maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness in light of the current environment," it said in a statement. "Individuals and groups opposed to the Secretary of State's recent announcement may target U.S. government facilities, U.S. private interests, and U.S. citizens."

6. 154 Nations Reject Israel's Biblical Connection to Temple Mount - Breaking Israel News

The United Nations gave preliminary approval for a resolution that calls the Temple Mount by its Muslim name exclusively: Haram al-Sharif reports JPost.

The resolution passed at the UN's Fourth Committee in New York City in an overwhelming turn-out of 154-8. The vote featured 14 abstentions as well as 17 absences. It was one of eight Anti-Israel resolutions approved last week. An expected 15 more anti-Israel resolutions are anticipating approval as well. The UN General Assembly will commence its final vote on the resolution next month.

Ironically, the resolution reaffirmed "the special significance of the holy sites and the importance of the City of Jerusalem for the three monotheistic religions."

7. Big Victory for Israel, in More Ways Than One: Why Abu Dhabi Just Played Israel's National Anthem - CBN

Israel's national anthem played loudly in Abu Dhabi on Saturday after Israel's Alon Leviev, 17, took home the gold medal in the junior division of the Ju-Jitsu World Championship.

Leviev was named the world champion in the 55-kilogram-and-under category after beating competitors Abu Dhabi, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.

Hearing the Hatikva-Israel's national anthem-playing in the capital of the United Arab Emirates is a dream many Israelis never thought would come true just a few years ago.

The UAE banned Israeli symbols in the Gulf country but reversed its policy last year after facing international backlash.

The Daily Brief

1. Democrats' smear campaign against Trump sparked White House involvement in Ukraine, Devin Nunes says - Fox News

The Trump White House became involved in Ukrainian affairs to investigate a smear campaign from Democrats against the president, but the fact-finding mission was twisted and used as an excuse for impeachment, House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said in an interview airing Sunday.

Nunes appeared on "Life, Liberty & Levin" to discuss the House's impeachment inquiry into Trump, and said Democrats paid Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on the president through Ukrainian sources, helping spawn the probe from former Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The California Republican also said it was perfectly reasonable for the president and his surrogates to go looking for answers after they faced attacked from all sides. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for a complete end to this smear campaign, and for Your comfort for President Trump and family. No matter what we see with our eyes, we choose to believe that You are ultimately in control.

- "Some trust in horses and some in chariots, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God." (Psalm 20:7)

2. Ilhan Omar funneled another $150K to alleged lover's consulting group - NY Post

Rep. Ilhan Omar paid another $150,000 to Tim Mynett's political consulting group in the three months after The Post first revealed allegations the pair were romantically involved, records show.

The 37-year-old Minnesota congresswoman's campaign has funneled $146,712.63 to Mynett's E Street Group since The Post in August reported allegations she was having an affair with her paid consultant, records show. The latest payments to Mynett's group were for digital advertising, fundraising consulting and video production.

When news of the alleged affair broke, Omar had already paid $223,000 through her campaign since 2018 for fundraising consulting, internet advertising, digital communications, and travel expenses to the E Street Group - taking the latest total to $370,000. But the federal agency charged with probing the campaign finance complaint against Omar is powerless to act because it doesn't have enough commissioners on the bench to investigate.

"This is something every American should be very concerned about," said Craig Holman, government affairs lobbyist at the watchdog group Public Citizen. "We have no election cop on the beat. The Federal Election Commission essentially closed its doors so everyone knows they can pretty much do whatever they want to do and that's the status of our political system today." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for this woman to be censured and removed from Congress. We bind the immorality and fraud on display here and declare Your jurisdiction over it to stop it.

- "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." (Matthew 28:18)

3. Trump's team delivers a big win for patients by making health costs clearer - Washington Examiner

When it comes to improving the nation's healthcare system, the Trump administration continues to do administratively some of the good things it hasn't been able to do legislatively.

On Friday, it took two major steps toward transparency in pricing and options. Patients will now better understand what their choices and costs will be. The president and his team deserve credit for their efforts. Specifically, the administration formally proposed one new rule (not yet "final" in the administrative process) and finalized another.

The first, the Transparency in Coverage rule, would require health plans to provide real-time, online information including an "estimate of their cost-sharing liability for all covered healthcare items and services" in order to "empower consumers to shop and compare costs between specific providers before receiving care."

Also, health plans would "disclose on a public website their negotiated rates for in-network providers and allowed amounts paid for out-of-network providers. Making this information available to the public is intended to drive innovation, support informed, price-conscious decision-making, and promote competition in the healthcare industry." (Read more)

- Thank You, Lord that healthcare costs will soon be much easier to study for all. Grant all who need healthcare the wisdom to choose the right products and plans.

- "The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools." (Proverbs 3:35)

4. Trump says he'll 'strongly consider' Pelosi invite to testify in impeachment hearings - Fox News

President Trump said Monday he would "strongly consider" testifying or providing answers in writing as part of the House impeachment inquiry, after Democrats challenged him to appear as part of the probe.

Our Crazy, Do Nothing (where's USMCA, infrastructure, lower drug pricing & much more?) Speaker of the House, Nervous Nancy Pelosi, who is petrified by her Radical Left knowing she will soon be gone (they & Fake News Media are her BOSS), suggested on Sunday's DEFACE THE NATION that I testify about the phony Impeachment Witch Hunt," Trump tweeted, in a derogatory reference to "Face the Nation."

"She also said I could do it in writing. Even though I did nothing wrong, and don't like giving credibility to this No Due Process Hoax, I like the idea & will, in order to get Congress focused again, strongly consider it!" he continued. (Read more)

- Lord, we bind the snares of the enemy against this President. We loose Your Holy Spirit to give wisdom and knowledge to him prior to attempting any response to this agenda.

- "Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped." (Psalm 124:7)

5. Nearly 80,000 Illegal Aliens Carried An Arrest Record Before Winning DACA Approval, Government Data Show - Daily Caller

Tens of thousands of people who successfully enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program carried prior arrest records, according to data the Trump administration released Saturday.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services - the agency under the Department of Homeland Security that is tasked with managing the country's legal immigration system - released a report Saturday detailing the arrest history of those who requested, and received, approval for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

In total, there were nearly 889,000 applicants for the DACA program. Roughly 110,000 of those who applied had an arrest record - making up 12% of total applicants. Offenses for some of these arrests included murder, rape, battery, assault and driving while intoxicated, according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

More notably, of the 765,166 individuals who were granted DACA status, 79,398 had a prior arrest. This translates to 1 in 10 DACA recipients carrying an arrest record. Nearly 25,000 requesters who were approved were arrested more than once. (Read more)

- Lord, we ask that the truth about arrest records would be made known to all. We pray Your perfect will over the good DACA participants, and that the bad would be removed.

- "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth fo before Your face." (Psalm 89:14)

6. Emails: Open Society Kept Alleged 'Whistleblower' Eric Ciaramella Updated on George Soros's Personal Ukraine Activities - Breitbart

Eric Ciaramella, whom Real Clear Investigations suggests is the likely so-called whistleblower, received emails about Ukraine policy from a top director at George Soros's Open Society Foundations.

The emails informed Ciaramella and a handful of other Obama administration foreign policy officials about Soros's whereabouts, the contents of Soros's private meetings about Ukraine and a future meeting the billionaire activist was holding with the prime minister of Ukraine.

A primary recipient of the Open Society emails along with Ciaramella was then-Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Victoria Nuland, who played a central role in the anti-Trump dossier affair. Nuland, with whom Ciaramella worked closely, received updates on Ukraine issues from dossier author Christopher Steele in addition to her direct role in facilitating the dossier within the Obama administration. (Read more)

- Father, we declare this agenda by Soros and Ciaramella null and void, and that all plans of the enemy will fail, through the Blood of the Lamb and the Blood of the Huguenot martyrs, amen.

- "The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord laughs at him, for He sees that his day is coming." (Psalm 37:12,13)

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." (Revelation 12:11)

7. Department of Justice announces the launch of Project Guardian - NorthCentral PA

On November 13, US Attorney General William P. Barr announced the launch of Project Guardian, an initiative that focuses on investigating, prosecuting, and preventing gun crimes. To create this initiative, the Department of Justice (DOJ) reviewed and modified strategies from previous projects such as the Triggerlock program and Project Safe Neighborhoods.

"Gun crime remains a pervasive problem in too many communities across America. Today, the Department of Justice is redoubling its commitment to tackling this issue through the launch of Project Guardian," said Attorney General Barr during Wednesday's announcement. "Building on the success of past programs like Triggerlock, Project Guardian will strengthen our efforts to reduce gun violence by allowing the federal government and our state and local partners to better target offenders who use guns in crimes and those who try to buy guns illegally." (Read more)

- Father, if this plan is in Your will for our nation, then let it be successful. As we know, the Federal Government is such a large bureaucracy in which plans often go awry from the original purpose. We ask that You carefully guard it to prevent that from occurring.

"All day long they twist my words." (Psalm 56:5a)

8. Ratcliffe: IG report into Russia probe will be 'damning' for DOJ - NY Post

Texas Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe predicted Sunday that the impending report on the origins of the Justice Department's probe into Russian election interference is "likely to be damning."

Ratcliffe noted that Inspector General Michael Horowitz's internal report into the underlying evidence that sparked Special Counsel Robert Mueller's lengthy investigation is said to run to 500 pages, suggesting it must mean serious failings.

"It doesn't take an Inspector General 500 pages to say that everything was done correctly and properly," Ratcliffe said during an interview on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures."

"The IG report is going to find that there were problems." (Read more)

- Lord, since we have not seen that report, we do not know whether it has the required essentials for prosecution or whether it will end up without 'teeth.' We ask for real information that moves the situation into a strong position.

- "His truth shall be your shield and buckler." (Psalm 91:4c)

9. Republican leader warns against resurrecting dead Equal Rights Amendment - WND

A House Republican leader is warning fellow members against supporting an effort to resurrect a plan from nearly 50 years ago for an Equal Rights Amendment. Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., said in a statement as a House committee considered H.J. Res. 79 that Congress simply "doesn't have the constitutional authority to retroactively revive a failed constitutional amendment and subject citizens in all 50 states to the current political trend in just one state."

That plan purportedly would "remove the deadline" for the ratification of the ERA. The movement has been around for some time. A Virginia legislative panel voted a year ago to support the idea that Congress can vote to "remove" a deadline for the failed ERA.

That, under the theory of its advocates, would allow the last few votes to be held to pass the ERA, originally proposed in the 1970s. (Read more)

- Father we bind this plan in the mighty name of Jesus and declare this idea dead on arrival. Let no action be taken to create special groups within our Constitution, as the document already protects all citizens.

- "Do not move the ancient boundary which your fathers have set."
(Proverbs 22:28)

10. '11,000 scientists' warning of 'climate emergency' are just '11,000 random people' - WND

The headline was a real attention-grabber. It said "More than 11,000 scientists declare 'climate emergency.'" That, at least, was Voice of America's title. The article said "more than 11,000 scientists are warning that the Earth, in their words, 'clearly and unequivocally faces a climate emergency.'" It's the subject over which teen activist Greta Thunberg recently has been expressing outrage.

But, the report called "World Scientists' Warning of a Climate Emergency," wasn't a study. And they weren't all scientists.

Talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh highlighted the story Monday. "Our buddies over at Power Line discovered something. Last week (I don't know if you saw it, there was a story, and it was big out there) 'that 11,000 scientists had issued a report contending that the Earth faces a 'climate emergency.' NBC News . . . described a 'study' produced by an 'international consortium of more than 11,000 scientists,''" he wrote.

He cited headlines by NBC, CNN, the London Guardian, Al-Jazeera and others. "'There was no study, there was just a press release," he said. "And it wasn't 11,000 scientists, it was 11,000 random people who put their names on a web page. This was a total managed lie. There was no study. There were no scientists." (Read more)

- Father God, once again we come to you today, offering You all praise, all honor, and all glory for allowing truth to be told in our nation. Protect Rush we pray, and keep him and his family safe in the days ahead. Thank You, Lord, amen.

- "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)

Sneaky Marxism

Lurking in the dark shadows of the next presidential election are a host of Democratic Party candidates who are of the Marxist brand. They seem to be publicly trying one to out-socialist the other-something that concerns the immediate past president. The former president warned the stable of socialist candidates at a fundraiser of leftist donors that they cannot force the agenda too publicly and expect to win. He said that the universe of voters "are not driven by the same views reflected on certain left-leaning Twitter feeds or the activist wing of our party." Translated: If you are going to advance the Marxist agenda, you need to be sneaky about it like I was." Think about the condition of this country today.

The New York Times reported that the former president told the leftists: "I don't think we should be deluded into thinking that the resistance to certain approaches to things is simply because voters haven't heard a bold enough proposal and if they hear something as bold as possible then immediately that's going to activate them." In other words, you have to sell this socialist agenda in small bits and pieces, using words that can be interpreted positively by both liberals and moderates, while the Marxist know full well what is meant. By the same token, you need to lose words that tend to promote the socialist revolution against the Constitutional Republic. Use words like tax reform instead of raising taxes, for example.

The former president was a master at telling Americans exactly what he was going to do by using words that made them think it was a good thing. Arab Spring, for example, was a movement of democracy rather than an overthrow of stable Middle Eastern governments by his terrorist organization of choice, Muslim Brotherhood. "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" instead of "mandated socialist healthcare where the government will determine what, if any care, you receive, and force you pay twice as much for the privilege. Speaking out against "non-traditional" marriage was labeled hate speech to justify preventing people from exercising their religious freedom by quoting scripture from the Holy Bible about marriage and homosexuality. Get the picture? Sneaky Marxism.

Moreover, he, Hillary Clinton and former Attorney General Eric Holder populated the deep state, the State Department and the Department of Justice with like-minded, Marxist-leaning minions that are at the very center of today's ongoing coup against this country. The Communist Manifesto says, "But communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis." Exodus 20:3 says, "Thou shalt have no other god's before me." When government replaces God, bad things happen. The former president knows that Americans are not yet ready to accept Marxism, so sneaky Marxism-like he did it-is his winning recipe and good advice to his fellow Democrats. America needs to wake up, especially the "Church."

Classic Hymns

WE HAVE AN ANCHOR

"An anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19)

Lyrics

Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?

Refrain

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love.

It is safely moored, 'twill the storm withstand,
For 'tis well secured by the Savior's hand;
And the cables, passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy that blast, thro' strength divine.

Refrain

It will surely hold in the Straits of Fear-
When the breakers have told that the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o'erflow.

Refrain

It will firmly hold in the Floods of Death-
When the waters cold chill our latest breath,
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the Veil.

Refrain

When our eyes behold through the gath'ring night
The city of gold, our harbor bright,
We shall anchor fast by the heav'nly shore,
With the storms all past forevermore.

Refrain

Signs and Wonders

NOCTILUCENT CLOUDS ARE FORMING OVER ANTARCTICA

The southern season for noctilucent clouds (NLCs) is underway, according to new observations from NASA's AIM spacecraft. "On Nov. 15th, AIM detected a small cloud over eastern Antarctica," reports Cora Randall of the University of Colorado's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics. "This is the earliest we have seen NLCs appear since the AIM mission began in 2007."

NLCs are Earth's highest clouds. They form around the poles when summertime water vapor billows up into the high atmosphere, crystallizing around specks of meteor smoke at the edge of space. Antarctic NLCs typically appear in mid- to -late November. This year's early apparition on Nov. 15th breaks the earlier mark of Nov. 17th set in 2013 and 2016.

If history is any guide, that little puff of blue is about to expand dramatically. Previous data from AIM spacecraft show that noctilucent clouds are like a great "geophysical light bulb." They turn on in late spring (in this case, austral spring) and reach almost full intensity over a period of no more than 5 to 10 days. A week from now, the entire South Pole could be ringed by electric blue clouds. Stay tuned!

'Saving One Soul At A Time': Gov Abbott Speaks Out On Kanye's Surprise Concert That Left Texas Inmates In Tears

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott praised singer and rapper Kayne West's visit to a Texas jail, saying West was "saving one soul at a time." The Grammy award-winning singer performed a surprise concert of his album "Jesus is King" for 200 male inmates at Harris County jail in Houston, Texas, CNN reported. West later used an underground tunnel to perform for a smaller crowd of female inmates. The concert left many inmates in tears, and West said his purpose was "a mission, not a show." Abbott praised West's actions in a Saturday tweet, saying Saturday, "What @kanyewest does to inspire the incarcerated is transformative. Saving one soul at a time." "Inmates who turn to God may get released earlier b/c of good behavior & may be less likely to commit future crimes," Abbott added. "It would be great if other artists followed Kanye's lead."
