The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." (Luke 11:23 - 25)

As we now prepare our hearts to pray through this weekend of the agony of the Cross, and the triumph of the Resurrection, let us consider the work of the Cross: through the forgiveness of sins, that They Shall Be One.

In this video, the 'pastorale' flute solo sets the scene for the processional anthem, which describes the gathering together of His sheep from every nation and tribe, from every mountain and valley. This future gathering will be made possible through the laying down of Christ's life.

1. Government Cash Handouts Now Top Tax Revenues - Fox Business

U.S. households are now getting more in cash handouts from the government than they are paying in taxes for the first time since the Great Depression.

- Father, we are saddened by the actions of those who have made citizens dependent upon government rather than personal responsibility. We pray that You will turn this situation around.

- "To make it your ambition and definitely endeavor to live quietly and peacefully, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you;" (1Thessalonians 4:11 Amplified)

2. Obama Feeling Heat on Debt Ceiling - Fox News

Obama's own party starts to pressure him to tie spending cuts to a vote on raising the debt limit, even as the administration expresses confidence that Congress will ultimately raise the cap.

- Lord, You know the stakes of raising the debt ceiling, and You know what will happen to the economy if debt continues to rise. We pray for wisdom for our leadership and a solution that will help our nation to start on the road to sound practices.

- "Get wisdom, get understanding; forget it not;" (Proverbs 4:5a)

3. Obama calls GOP Medicare, spending plan 'radical' - AP

Obama said Wednesday that congressional Republicans are pushing a radical plan to trim Medicare and Medicaid, ramping up the rhetoric as he and Congress approach crucial decisions on spending and the nation's debt.

- Lord, we take authority in the Name of Jesus and bind the spirits of deception and false witness on both sides of these arguments. We loose Your Holy Spirit to convict those who have personal agendas that will not truly help the people of America.

- "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19)

4. Dollar hits 3-yr low; gold, Asian stocks march on - Reuters

The U.S. dollar slid to a 3-year low against a basket of major currencies and Asian stocks jumped to a 3-year high on Thursday, as investors scrambled to get in front of upward momentum in higher-yielding assets, particularly in emerging markets.

- Father, as stock markets and investing continue volatility, and the US dollar tanks at the prospect of poor credit ratings, we pray for assistance for Your people in Your wisdom and power. As the world shifts its investments and new markets emerge, we ask for stability in You.

- And upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16:18b)

5. UN Calls for Restraint in Yemen Following Clashes - VOA News

The U.N. Security Council has met for the first time to discuss the escalating crisis in Yemen, hours after security forces in the Gulf Arab state fired on anti-government protesters, killing three and wounding several others in two major cities.

- Lord, as clashes continue to grow throughout the Middle East, we know that our enemies stand ready to take control in the midst of chaos. We pray for the people involved in these nations and ask for Your Holy Spirit to move across them. We pray for this time of uprising to be a time of opportunity to bring in the inheritance for Your Son Jesus.

- "Ask of Me, and I shall give you the nations for your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for you possession." (Psalm 2:8)

6. a) Japan to Enforce Exclusion Zone Near Nuclear Plant - VOA News

Japanese officials have decided to legally enforce an exclusion zone within 20 kilometers of the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant starting at midnight Thursday.

b) Magnitude 6.1 Quake Rattles Tokyo - NewsCore

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Japan late Thursday, shaking buildings in the capital Tokyo, the US Geological Survey said.

- Father, no one who has watched the horrific devastation on TV from Japan can be without sorrow for these people. We stand before You and plead for mercy and salvation for the people, and restoration for their homes, lives, and future.

2. Netanyahu to surprise int'l community in Congress speech - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu wants to surprise the international community in his speech before the US Congress in late May -- and is unlikely to unveil more than the rough outlines of what he will discuss before then, government sources said Wednesday.

3. Palestinian leader: There will be no new uprising - Ynet News

The Palestinian president says he is opposed to another armed uprising against Israel, even if faltering peace efforts fail altogether.

Paying the price of our beliefs and apathy

The rising cost of oil as reflected at the nation's gasoline stations is but the first ramifications of a failed economic policy that will surely have a lasting impact on all Americans, their families and their livelihoods. The price of food; the price of goods; the price of everything will inflate beyond the imagination in the weeks and months to come. This is not only because of the surging price of oil, but also because of the huge record debt amassed by the federal government. If Americans did not understand that there are forces out to destroy this nation and the American Judeo-Christian way of life, it will become abundantly clear in the near future.

At gas stations in the Washington, DC area, gasoline prices have reached $5 a gallon or more. This reality hits every American squarely and it is tantamount to a huge governmental tax increase. On June 11, 2008, CNBC's John Harwood asked then senator Barack Obama if higher oil prices would help America reduce oil consumption. He replied: "I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing. But if we take some steps right now to help people make the adjustment, first of all by putting more money in their pockets, but also by encouraging the market to adapt to these new circumstances more rapidly, particularly U.S. automakers."

He said at a campaign gathering on August 1, 2008, "There are things that you can do individually though to save energy. Making sure your tires are properly inflated. Simple thing. But we could save. All the oil they're talking about getting off drilling, if everybody was just inflating their tires, and getting regular tune ups, you could actually save just as much." This is wrong minded thinking. This is the type of thinking that has gutted this nation and its people in a silent and deceptive war on our freedoms, our Constitution and our way of life. The foreign and domestic policies of this Administration, and to a certain extent the second four years of the Bush Administration, have resulted in secret national casualties beyond measure.

Our generation is in a huge hole. It is not one in that Americans can trust ruling class and godless politicians to bring us out. As we enter into these most holy days of the resurrection of Christ, we should be mindful that this judgment before us is as much self-inflicted as it is God's hand of protection moving away. Jesus died that we may no longer be in the bondage of sin. We should operate our lives as such, and as Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." To turn this around, we must first repent. We must decide to stand in the gap for our nation. We must become radical Christians such that our light cannot be denied.

Governor Perry issues proclamation for Days of Prayer for Rain

Because of the severe drought and massive wildfires in Texas, Gov. Rick Perry has proclaimed Friday through Easter Sunday as Days of Prayer for Rain. You can read the whole proclamation here. The release is below:

Gov. Rick Perry has proclaimed the three-day period from Friday, April 22, to Sunday, April 24, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas, following extreme drought conditions that have sparked dangerous wildfires across the state, which have taken lives, engulfed more than 1.8 million acres and destroyed nearly 400 homes.

"Throughout our history, both as a state and as individuals, Texans have been strengthened, assured and lifted up through prayer," Gov. Perry said. "It is fitting that Texans should join together in prayer to humbly seek an end to this ongoing drought and these devastating wildfires, and for the safety of the brave firefighters and emergency management officials who have worked tirelessly to protect lives and property around the state."

Gov. Perry urges Texans of all faiths and religious traditions to offer prayer for the healing of the land, rebuilding of communities and the restoration of our normal and robust way of life in Texas.

Kansas Governor Signs Pair of Pro-Life Bills

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback (left), who for nearly 16 years was one of the most consistently pro-life lawmakers in the U.S. Senate, continued his track record by signing two new state laws April 13 aimed at protecting pre-born babies.

One of the new measures prohibits abortion after 22 weeks of pregnancy, because of evidence that unborn babies can feel pain by that time, while the other law, among other provisions, bans abortionists from performing the procedure on minors without written consent from parents. Both laws go into effect in July.

. . . In signing the pro-life bills, Governor Brownback said both pieces of legislation represent important steps toward creating a culture of life in Kansas. "It is our calling to support the dignity of every human being," the Governor explained, "whether that person is unemployed, undereducated, or unborn. These bills establish that Kansas in the heart of America is a culture of life state and we're not going back." (New American) Read more.

1. Kadhafi must be toppled 'by force': rebel chief - AFP

Moamer Kadhafi can only be toppled by force, Libya's rebel president said Tuesday during a visit to Rome in which Italy said the opposition could be aided with military equipment and foreign oil sales.

- God, remove Kadhafi from power and may the people of Libya cry out to You for help, and center their hearts on heaven-sent relief. Your kindness brings repentance in the lives of the people, saving their souls by the blood of Jesus which He shed on the Cross of Calvary for the remission of sin. Let it be, Lord. In Jesus' Name.

2. China Urges US to Protect Creditors After S&P Warning - CNBC

China's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the United States must take "responsible" measures to protect investors in its debt after Standard & Poor threatened to lower its credit rating on the United States due to a bulging budget deficit.

- Father God, the orchestration and decisions of the secret societies to establish relations with China was planned to put America in a binding contract that would pull this country to its knees. And for all this, we cry out to the one and only God of the universe to disentangle America from this stranglehold. We call forth warring angels from heaven to intervene and break these ropes by the holy fire of God and the blood of Jesus to bring freedom to our country. In Jesus' Name.

3. Cuba Lays Foundation for a New Leader - NY Times

Cuba on Tuesday made the most significant change to its leadership since the 1959 revolution, naming someone other than the Castro brothers for the first time to fill the second-highest position in the Communist Party and possibly setting the stage for their eventual successor.

- God, we ask that Cuba's successor will find Christ as Savior of his soul, that he have a heart of flesh and not a heart of stone, and through the goodness that only comes from God will he bring Cuba out of its depressed state. Bind the forces of darkness and render them powerless by the blood of Jesus. Save the people of Cuba. In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray.

4. Wildfires continue to rage across Texas - CBS News

Dry spell leaving state in extreme drought aids wildfires throughout the state that have burned more than 1,000 square miles.

- God, we stand before You with our hands raised asking that You will send a heavy rain upon Texas that will put out the massive fires that have traveled "with the wind at its back" causing tremendous loss of property. We trust in Your divine intervention that the fires will be extinguished today. In Jesus' Name.

- "The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire. The Lord sits upon the flood; yea, the Lord sits King forever." (Psalm 29:7,10)

5. New Home Construction Rises to Six-Month High - Fox News

Builders broke ground last month on the most new homes in six months, giving the weak housing market a slight boost at the start of the spring buying season.

- God, we thank You that homes are being built again, and we ask that You fill these homes with families who will grow stronger and more stable together. May rock-solid foundations be laid for families who are filled with love for each other and who will rely on the God of their salvation for a bright future. In Jesus' Name.

- "He is like a man which built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock." (Luke 6:48)

6. U.S. Hurries to Sell GM Stake - Wall Street Journal

The U.S. government plans to sell a significant share of its remaining stake in General Motors Co. this summer despite the disappointing performance of the auto maker's stock, people familiar with the matter said.

- Father, we step into the gap and lift our hearts in prayer that Your mighty hand will prevent the government from selling its remaining stake in General Motors Co. As You step into this situation, there will be a mighty turnaround that will breath new life into this age-old American company. Ream out that which has weakened this company. Reverse and break the strength that the adverse control has had over GM. Place a mighty warring angel from heaven at its doors to prevent this "plan to sell"; suddenly bring in new life that will raise GM from the dust that it may live. In Jesus' Name.

- "The Lord makes poor, and makes rich: He brings low, and lifts up. He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the dunghill, and set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and He has set the world upon them." 7. U.S. Debt Tops $14.3 Trillion for First Time - CNS News

The national debt has passed another historical milestone, topping $14.3 trillion for the first time ever, according to data released by the U.S. Treasury late Monday afternoon.

- God, the hands of the thief, who is the deceiver - the one who robs, steals and destroys - has brought the United States to this point in time. The thief has run roughshod over America to destroy it and bring it to shambles. But we call on the Lord God who is Master and Ultimate Power over the thief and his ungodly works. Miraculously erase this ungodly debt that has been a setup. Restore, revive, and reinstate America to its original state of being; a God-fearing, God-honoring nation who stands as a light to all nations in the world. In Jesus' Name.

1. US rejects Palestinian bid to seek UN approval for state - Jerusalem Post

The US on Tuesday rejected Palestinian plans to pursue efforts to ask the UN Security Council to recognize a Palestinian state in September.

2. 'Goldstone retraction affected by misuse of Gaza report findings' - Ha'aretz

A New York Times article Tuesday claimed Richard Goldstone's apparent retraction of at least some of the war crime allegations leveled against Israel came as a result of his realization that his Gaza war report was used not to advance peace but to attack Israel on the international stage.

3. Abbas: Britain and France would recognize Palestinian state - Ha'aretz

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated that the Palestinians are ready for statehood, but that the PA does not agree with the Israeli idea of temporary borders.

4. Israel Air Force reveals its satellite secrets - Ha'aretz

Israel's observational satellites take up a large chunk of the multi-year Halamish plan the army is preparing, which is due to come before the cabinet for approval.

5. Palestinians counting on Obama for state - Ynet News

The Palestinians are signaling they are still planning to go ahead with efforts to declare an independent state with the backing of the United Nations.

Birther issue aside, Constitution must be upheld

Only 26% of Iowa Republicans believe that the president was a properly born US citizen. Billionaire Donald Trump, who seems to be positioning for a presidential run, says he doesn't believe Obama is a natural born citizen, and has hired an investigative team to learn more. The only ones who seem to be truly convinced that Obama is a qualified citizen are those who do not hold in high regard the foundational principles of the Constitution. The president must not be clear on the issue either, though he says he is. Actions speak louder than words--he has spent over a million dollars in lawyers defending his position that he doesn't have to show his birth certificate. And herein is the real issue.

The Constitution of the United States declares in Article II Section 1: "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States." It appears that throughout history that it was a non issue, until the 2008 election. Political parties certified that their candidates met the requirements to hold office and this normally was not questioned. It appears to be an honor system.

George Washington said in his 1796 Farewell Address: "The very idea of the power and the right of the people to establish government presupposes the duty of every individual to obey the established government. All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community."

He continued to warn about political parties, saying, "they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." This is the issue if Article II Section 1 is not enforced by the states or by the Supreme Court. A question has been raised and for the sake of the Constitution, it should be answered. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." The supreme law of the land is being challenged and the people deserve an answer. Perhaps we should demand it?

Obama's Plan To Raise Taxes

Despite Obama's use of intentionally confusing language in last week's deficit reduction speech ("spending reductions in the tax code" as a euphemism for tax hikes etc.), a recent analysis demonstrates just how much the president plans to raise taxes in order to support his big government spending spree.

There are four competing plans -- one by Obama, one by Rep. Paul Ryan and two plans from independent, bi-partisan commissions. Goldman Sachs, evaluating all four plans on a 10-year scale, offered the best side-by-side comparison. Three of the four proposals rely heavily on tax increases to reduce the deficit. The Ryan plan assumes that you are taxed enough already and relies almost entirely on spending cuts.

According to Goldman Sachs' analysis, 38% of the deficit reduction achieved by the Simpson-Bowles commission comes from higher taxes; 45% of the deficit reduction achieved by the Domenici-Rivlin commission comes from higher taxes. But nearly 60% of the deficit reduction achieved by Barack Obama's plan is the result of tax hikes. The Ryan plan assumes a revenue increase of just 6%, achieved by the implementation of a flatter, simpler tax code.

The contrasting views of the two parties could not be clearer. Obama is calling for nearly $2 trillion in tax increases, while the Ryan plan, passed by the House of Representatives on Friday, dramatically cuts spending and reduces the size of government. Ryan's plan won't get past Harry Reid's Senate or Obama's veto pen. If Ryan's vision of less spending and smaller government is going to become a reality, conservatives must prevail in the 2012 elections. (Gary Bauer)

Debt Defying

The week before Easter is normally a quiet one in the nation's capital, but it grew very loud yesterday after Standard & Poor's (S&P), a credit rating outfit, said that there is a "one-in-three" chance that the United States' credit rating will be downgraded. S&P's warning came because they don't think that politicians in Washington will seriously address the increasing debt problem our nation is facing.

It is little surprise that the ratings group has taken this stance. Instead of offering up real solutions, Obama -- who voted against the last debt increase when he was a senator -- and Democrats in Congress are reverting back to false scare tactics over entitlement reforms.

Such rhetoric might winObama and Democrats in Congress political points, but the burden they are seeking to put on future generations borders on dishonesty. Two weeks ago, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner sent a letter to congressional leaders estimating that the U.S. will hit the $14.3 trillion limit on its borrowing ability by mid-May and with some creativity we could stave off the deadline till July 8th. If the Republicans agree to raise the debt limit once again, they should only agree to do so if the increase is coupled with real spending reforms, such as passage of Senator Mike Lee's (R-Utah) Balanced Budget Amendment or a repeal of Obama's multi-trillion dollar health care fiasco. This will send a clear message to our nation's creditors that we are serious about paying our debts. (Family Research Council)

Update on DOMA

Boehner Solicits Help of Right General for Marriage Cases

House Speaker John Boehner continues to show that he is serious about defending marriage in court. Yesterday I reported to you that the Speaker is seeking to take the funds that will be needed for the House defense of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) away from the budget for the Justice Department--which abandoned its duty to defend the law in February. Now we have learned who will be representing the House in this litigation--the same man who represented the United States of America in court during the Bush administration, former Solicitor General Paul Clement.

The silver lining in Obama's and Attorney General Eric Holder's neglect of duty is that the law will now be ably defended by someone who actually wants to win. As Ed Whelan of the Ethics and Public Policy Center said in a Congressional hearing on Friday, Holder's DOJ had "only been pretending to defend the Defense of Marriage Act while it has actively been working to sabotage it." Clement filed his first court motion on behalf of the House yesterday, in the New York case Windsor v. U.S.A.--one of the cases that led Holder to declare the administration now believes DOMA to be unconstitutional. I urge Mr. Clement to enlist the help of other attorneys with direct experience on the marriage issue. Together, I expect them to be a winning team. (Family Research Council)

Muslims Rioting Again

Muslims in Nigeria are rioting. Churches are being burned. Thousands of Christians have been forced to flee their homes. Red Cross workers report seeing bodies lying by the roadside.

Did Pastor Jones in Florida burn another Koran? No. The chaos in Africa's largest oil producing nation stems from an election dispute. To be clear, this is not a Bush v. Gore Florida-style nail-biter. In fact, the results aren't even in dispute. According to one report, "Observers have called the poll the fairest in decades . . ."

So what's the problem? In the fairest election in decades, Nigerians elected a Christian as their president and defeated an Islamist by an overwhelming margin. The response of many Nigerian Muslims has been to murder, cause mayhem and burn churches. And, of course, this vicious assault by Muslim mobs will not be condemned by Obama or the U.N. (Gary Bauer)

Report of an Extraordinary Miracle

Yesterday, we received this message from Court Wood, Founder, In Jesus' Name Ministires. Please read on to learn of a true miracle that recently took place . . . somewhere in the Phillippines. Praise God!

During my last visit to the Southern Philippines, Alex, our godly director, took me to visit the home of Toto and Tonia Popera, a wonderful Christian couple who live with their children in extreme poverty. Their home is a shack built right over a sewerage drainage ditch. During my visit, Alex and I prayed for Toto who was suffering from ulcers and lung cancer.

Yesterday, I received word from Alex that after some remission from his illnesses, Toto became acutely ill and was taken to the hospital.

Following is Alex's report of the remarkable last hour of Toto's life.

Dear Dad Court, Do you remember the brother whom we visited whose house was in the middle of the sewerage drainage? He was sick at that time with ulcers, and he also had lung cancer. He was healed and serving the Lord, but lately he had been bedridden with illness for days. When he became much worse, he was rushed to the hospital. At the latter end of his dying moments his blood pressure was zero and his pulse rate zero for more than hour, but he still keep preaching to his family encouraging them to serve the Lord. Calling other children and grandchildren as he talked as if he had no illness at all. They could not confine him to ICU since they did not have the money to pay.

The doctors and nurses were baffled how a man without pulse rate and zero blood pressure could talk like that. They could not believe it and they kept pacing the floor frantically as they wanted to revive his vital signs. But Brother Toto refused it, thanking the doctors, but saying that he was prepared to meet God. The doctors could not understand how a clinically dead person could talk to them like that.

About an hour went by with no vital signs but he still kept talking as a normal person who was alive. The people around him were so amazed they asked our sister Tonia what's their religion. She said "we are Christians" and that's the very first time that they had seen a person who was so ready and confident to face death and could give exhortations preaching to serve God.

At the last moment he just closed his eyes as if going to sleep with no signs of struggle as he faced death and met the Lord. To God be the glory that at his last moment he preached the word of God.

Please pray for the Popera family, especially for Toto's wife, sister Tonia. She is one of the very faithful and very zealous workers in the Gospel. She has such faith that had influenced her husband to be restored back to serving the Lord.

1. Arizona gov. vetoes presidential 'birther' bill - AP

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Monday vetoed a bill that would have required President Barack Obama and other presidential candidates to prove their U.S. citizenship before their names could appear on the state's ballot.

Brewer said in her veto letter that she was troubled that the bill empowered Arizona's secretary of state to judge the qualifications of all candidates when they file to run for office.

- Father, we pray wisdom for all congresses and governors in the various states who are adopting this kind of bill. We pray for a fair and just bill to be approved. We pray decisions will not be made out of fear based on repercussions, but boldly stand for what is right for their state.

- Father, we ask that the Spirit of the Lord rest upon our officials - the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might and strength, the spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. (Isaiah 11:2)

2. North Carolina faces huge cleanup after killer storm - Bellingham Herald

The storm that killed at least 22 people and injured at least 130 in the state also damaged or destroyed at least 800 homes and left thousands without electricity.

- Father, we lift up those who were caught in this devastating storm. Give them hope and strength to rebuild their lives. Surround them with love and encouragement. In Jesus Name.

- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

3. Free Condoms for 11-Year-Olds? Philadelphia and Its Sex Problem - Christian Post

Philadelphia has a disturbing problem on its hands - it has the highest rate of sexually active teens in the country and the fifth highest HIV/AIDS rate for the age group. But the city's new campaign - offer free condoms to teens as young as 11 - to combat the problem is raising eyebrows. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health has launched a website that allows youths to order free condoms online. Under the tab "Mail Me Condoms!" the city offers links to "how to use a condom correctly," places in Philadelphia to buy condoms, and the option to get the male contraceptive for free.

- Father, reveal to this Philadelphia Dept. of Health that this campaign to supply free condoms is encouraging the behavior to continue. We pray for churches to rise up in Philadelphia and deal with this moral issue. We pray for a move of Your Spirit over these youth.

- I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:27)

4. National Press Club Conference: Al-Jazeera in America - Right Side News

On Friday, April 1st, Cliff Kincaid of America's Survival held a press conference in the First Amendment room of the National Press Club titled "Al-Jazeera, Global Jihad, and the Suicide of the West". This conference was held to highlight the dangerous nature of Qatar-based Al-Jazeera, the "Terror TV network," how it is infiltrating U.S. media outlets, and to call for Congressional investigations into its activities, as well as those of other similarly disposed propaganda organs like Russia Today USA and Iranian Press TV.

5. Mosque Planners File $7 Million Lawsuit - NBC

As Bill Murray points out, "The total area of damage is actually less than 150 square feet, so the lawsuit is asking about $27,000 per square foot of damages. The lawsuit failed to note that el-Gamal plans to tear down the building to build his trophy to the 9-11 jihad attack." His opening line commented that Sharif el-Gamal will "sue for enough money to build his temple to Islam."

We ask you to tear down any efforts to build this trophy to their attack. We ask you to raise up valiant men who will speak in this day for those who lost their lives on 9/11, and why.

6. Saudi slashes oil output, says market oversupplied - Reuters

Saudi Arabia's oil minister said on Sunday the kingdom had slashed output by 800,000 barrels per day in March due to oversupply, sending the strongest signal yet that OPEC will not act to quell soaring prices.

- Father, we intercede over the control of the oil prices. Bring solutions to this unrest. We bind greed and corruption. We pray OPEC will take action to quell the oil prices. Give us leadership that will find ways to supply oil to our nation without heavily relying on outside sources.

- Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16)

If Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu doesn't act soon, the Mideast 'quartet' may try to jump-start the process by endorsing a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem its capital.

2. Ahmadinejad: 'The era of Zionism has passed away' - Jerusalem Post

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, addressing crowds gathered on Monday in honor of Iran's Army Day, stated that "the era of Zionism and capitalism has passed away."

White House Middle East Policy: Who is deceiving who?

If it wasn't so true, it would be fodder for a Hollywood movie either about the incompetency of the government or a conspiracy by America to help establish an Islamic Caliphate. ABC news reports the assistant director of FBI counter-terrorism Mark Giuliano told the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, "The governments of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen have drastically changed in the last six months. They are now led by transitional or interim governments, military regimes, or democratic alliances with no established track record on counterterrorism efforts. Al Qaeda thrives in such conditions...countries in which governments may be sympathetic to their campaign of violence."

Within hours an al Qaeda video surfaced praising the uprisings in the Middle East as beneficial to the terrorist movement. al Qaeda's "Inspire", its English language magazine aimed at recruiting American Muslims, sported the cover title "The Tsunami of Change." The magazine, written by al Qaeda's leadership, outright rejects the White House assertion that the Middle East unrest is the winds of democracy. The Islamist view is of a different kind of freedom blowing across the desert. Editor Yahya Ibrahim writes: It is our opinion that the revolutions that are shaking the thrones of dictators are good for the Muslims, good for the mujahidin and bad for the imperialists of the West and their henchmen in the Muslim world."

In distinctly anti-American and anti-Israeli rhetoric, the al Qaeda leaders strongly believe that the regimes being toppled throughout the Middle East will result in an al Qaeda brand of freedom--the establishment of Sharia Law, freedom from America and Israel. In fact, the new interim government of Egypt is working to reestablish ties with Hezbollah, Hamas, Syria and Iran. It is consistently reported that the rebels in Libya are backed by al Qaeda. And these are people that the White House is supporting with hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars. The question Americans need to be asking is "Do we believe that our taxpayer dollars and involvement in destabilizing the Middle East are in America's best interest?"

The answer is obvious. There is a great deception taking place. Recent history shows that terrorists holding elections only results in terrorists being elected. Hamas in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority are examples. There is no peace. The White House seems to be more comfortable with Islamists than do the American people. Of course, the man in charge was raised and indoctrinated by Arab socialists. The American-supported destabilization of the Middle East appears to be playing into the hands of the terrorists. Romans 16:18 says avoid those who are contrary to the doctrines of Christ because they "by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple." Muslim freedom and Christian freedom are two different doctrines.

Congress has now gone into its annual, two-week spring recess. In this section, we will summarize the major actions that were taken, with prayers to follow.

1. Senate Defeats Measure to Defund Planned Parenthood - CBN News

The U.S. Senate defeated an attempt by the House Friday to end federal funding of Planned Parenthood. Senate Democrats and five Republicans rejected the measure 58 to 42. Summary of Senate votes - go here.

Obama's Private Remarks Show Fiery Abortion Debate

An "open mic" incident with Obama Thursday revealed the intensity of the political debate surrounding efforts to de-fund Planned Parenthood. Thinking that reporters were out of the room, Obama opened up following a Chicago fundraiser regarding the recent budget battle with House Speaker John Boehner. "Put it in a separate bill. We'll call it up," the president said, referring to legislation against Planned Parenthood's federal funding. "And if you think you can overturn my veto, try it. But don't try to sneak this through."

- Cry out for mercy to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in repentance for this action by the United States Senate, and for the words of this president. The blood of the innocent unborn is on our hands; may God have mercy.

- "Shall I not punish these people," declares the Lord, "And on a nation such as this Shall I not avenge Myself?" (Jer. 5:9)

2. House Passes $6 Trillion Budget Cut - CBN

The House has passed along party lines a GOP plan to cut $6 trillion from the federal budget. The GOP proposal passed 235-193, with every Democrat voting "no." The nonbinding plan lays out a fiscal vision cutting $6.2 trillion over 10 years from the budget submitted by Obama. The measure includes reforming Medicare into a voucher-like system that would subsidize the purchase of private insurance. Read more.

- Offer a great chorus of praise for the passage of this measure in the House of Representatives. It will take a miracle for ths package to be passed in the Senate and signed into law by the president. Pray for that miracle to come forth!

- "Whatever the LORD pleases, He does." (Psalm 135:6)

3. General Says Boots on the Ground May Be Needed in Libya - New American

The General in charge of the U.S. African Command, Army General Carter Ham, told congressional leaders in a closed meeting April 5 that the military is considering sending ground troops into Libya. "I suspect there might be some consideration of that," Ham told members of the House Armed Services Committee. "My personal view at this point would be that that's probably not the ideal circumstance, again for the regional reaction that having American boots on the ground would entail." Read more.

- Father, we know that we are half way through the 60-day period under the War Powers Resolution under which President Obama should obtain "specific statutory authorization for the use of United States Armed Forces in Libya." We ask that no troops would set foot on the ground until Obama has that authorization. We ask that Obama would seek and be granted that authorization with that 60 days if it is necessary and within your will. We ask for clarity of mission, and swiftness in success.

- "The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name." (Exodus 15:3)

4. U.S. Government Has No Strategy to Deal with Muslim Brotherhood - Washington Times

The federal government has no strategy to counter the Muslim Brotherhood at home or abroad, according to the chairwoman of the House panel that oversees counterintelligence and terrorism. "The federal government does not have a comprehensive or consistent strategy for dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliated groups in America," Rep. Sue Wilkins Myrick said during a hearing Wednesday. "Nor does it have a strategy for dealing with the Brotherhood in Egypt or the greater Middle East." The North Carolina Republican is chairwoman of the House Intelligence subcommittee on terrorism, human intelligence, analysis and counterintelligence. Mrs. Myrick said at the hearing that she planned on scheduling closed classified hearings on the Muslim Brotherhood this session with government officials. Read more.

- Father, we thank you for Rep. Sue Myrick who is willing to call attention to weak points in our national security strategy. We ask you to give both the will and the insight to our leaders for an approach to the Muslim Brotherhood. Show them forth for who they really are, as the news first came out of Egypt. Bring them to yourself.

- "Envoys will come out of Egypt; Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands to God." (Psalm 68:31)

5. FBI: Cyber terrorism threat real - Washington Examiner

Sara A. Carter While the nation is focused on the budget crisis, war and increasing gas prices, Assistant Director of the FBI's Cyber Division Gordon M. Snow presented one more issue should be concerned about: cyber attacks. Snow told the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism Tuesday, "U.S. critical infrastructure faces a growing cyber threat due to advancements in the availability and sophistication of malicious software tools." Read more.

- Father, we all know the frustration of dealing with technology behaving badly. We thank you for largely sparing us from the effects of people who would wreak havoc on more parts of our lives than we can imagine that are affected and controlled by technology. We thank you for being the God who has his Hand in all the bit and algorithms we use every day. We ask you to extend your hand and send forth protection of our systems, both civilian and defense.

- "God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty." (1 Corinthians 1:27)

6. NRC Chairman: Reactor Situation in Japan is Static But Not Stable - CNN

The chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Tuesday that the situation in the wake of the Japanese nuclear reactor crisis is static but not yet stable. On the day that Japan bumped up the seriousness of its nuclear accident from a Level 5 to a Level 7 priority, on par with the Chernobyl disaster, a Senate committee heard from U.S. environmental officials, scientists and NRC Chairman Gregory Jaczko. "From the information we have, we believe the situation currently is static, namely we don't see significant changes on a day-to-day basis with the reactors," Jaczko told the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. "It is not yet, however, what we believe to be stable: namely that given additional events or other circumstances there would not be the potential for significant additional problems at the reactors." Thus, Jaczko said, the focus is "on these efforts to transition from static to stable to ensure (the) long-term ability to cool the reactors and to provide cooling for the spent fuel pools."

California Sen. Barbara Boxer's state has a number of nuclear plants in areas with high seismic activity near millions of people. She pressed Jaczko for reassurances that enough is being done to protect people in the United States, especially California residents. "We've got to move beyond talk and get to the serious question (of) what do we do, to do everything in our power to make it safe," Boxer said. Boxer pointed out that officials once said it was "very unlikely" Japan would ever face the kind of crisis it finds itself in today.

- Father, next week we will remember the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster that affected multiple countries and living areas for five million people. It's happened before, it happened this year, and it could happen again. We thank You for raising up leaders like Barbara Boxer to address these very real concerns. May we never be people who say it could never happen here. We also thank you for giving us energy, and we ask you to show us the way forward to new sources of energy we can use for your glory.

- "What is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power." (Ephesians 1:19)

7. Senate misses goal on education rewrite - The Hill

Despite the intentions of Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chairman Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), the Senate began its recess Friday without holding a markup on the overdue reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Harkin in January set the goal of having a bill "ready for markup by our Easter recess." Negotiations between key legislators have lagged since then, although Harkin and key House members say they believe they can still pass a bill this year. But neither the Center on Education Policy (CEP), a public education advocacy group, nor the conservative Heritage Foundation expects success. Read more.

- Lord, we thank you for a fresh hearing from voices like Governor Buddy Roemer who recently said, "You ask why you need an Education Department. They don't teach a single child." Remind our federal leaders anew this summer, as they take on a major rewrite of No Child Left Behind, who it is that is responsible for educating the next generation. And no, it's not state and local leaders. It's our families! Raise up our men to lead their children in what it means to follow you. You are our purpose for education.

- "You, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)

8. House Repeals Another Part of Health Law - The Hill

The House on Wednesday voted to terminate another piece of last year's healthcare law - the Prevention and Public Health Fund, which is currently scheduled to receive nearly $18 billion over the next few years. The House vote came just moments after the White House said President Obama would veto the bill if it were presented for his signature. The bill, H.R. 1217, passed in a 236-183 vote. Only four Democrats supported it, as most argued that killing the program would reduce access to preventive healthcare, lead to higher healthcare costs later on and even destroy jobs in the healthcare industry. Republicans dismissed all of these arguments and repeatedly called the program a "slush fund" that the secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) can use without any input from Congress.

Republicans said the program is so nonspecific in the law that it allows HHS to use it for dubious purposes, such as signs indicating exercise spots. "Does placing signage for bike paths produce economic activity, or does advocating higher soda taxes benefit the economy?" Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.) asked. Republicans also argued the program could be used to fund elective abortions. Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) said the healthcare law allows HHS to use the funding for any health initiative under the Public Health Services Act, which could include Title X programs. Title X, the federal women's health program, allocates money to Planned Parenthood, which performs abortions.

- Father, we know this legislation did not make many headlines, especially relative to all the other big news of the week. We believe it made big headlines in heaven. We thank you for leadership willing to stand up and root out all the buried and hidden provisions for abortion in last year's health care law. We ask for an accountable government that would give up its $18 billion slush fund, and put that towards fixing our fiscal problems. We ask You to raise up voices that would make this program and an unacceptable stench in the nostrils of those who would have it continue. Take away money from anyone that performs abortions.

- "Yet they say to each other, 'Don't come too close or you will defile me! I am holier than you!' They are a stench in my nostrils, an acrid smell that never goes away." (Isaiah 65:5)

9. Harry Reid leads Senate tour of China - Politico

A Senate delegation led by Majority Leader Harry Reid arrived in Hong Kong today for the start of a week long tour of China.

He and nine other senators will spend the week on an "informational trip" during which they plan to meet with government officials and visit American investments and clean energy projects, Democratic leadership said in a statement. The senators plan to discuss "issues including clean energy, trade issues, currency, foreign policy and human rights" with Chinese officials. Joining Reid on the trip are six Democrats - Michael Bennet of Colorado, Barbara Boxer of California, Dick Durbin of Illinois, Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, Jeff Merkley of Oregon and Chuck Schumer of New York - and Republicans Mike Enzi of Wyoming, Johnny Isakson of Georgia and Richard Shelby of Alabama. The delegation plans to travel to Beijing, Chengdu and Xi'an. Read more.

- Father, we thank you for times in which our leaders can travel half way around the world during a week off. We ask you to go before their voices and their eyes that they may see and hear the state of things in the land of one of our largest lenders. We ask you to give voice to both the oppressed of their religious freedom, and those who have lost the lives of their little ones to the People's Republic of China's one-child policy.

- "Who despises the day of small things?" (Zechariah 4:10)

10. Netanyahu to Address Congress; Concessions Feared - Israel National News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will give a Mideast peace policy speech in front of U.S. Congress in late May, Haaretz learned on Thursday, in an attempt to counter a speech expected to deal with U.S. Mideast policy by Obama. The office of U.S. House Speaker, The Honorable John Boehner confirmed the report, saying Boehner's will invite Netanyahu to address a joint meeting of the U.S. Congress during a visit to Washington next month.

On Thursday it was announced that the premier received official invitation to speak before Congress due to the support of Republican congressmen, and following several weeks in which he and his staff had been attempting to procure such an invitation. His address is expected to serve as a sort of response to an upcoming Mideast policy speech by Obama. Read more.

- Ask our Lord to continue to grant His strength, wisdom, and anointing upon the Prime Minister of the Nation of Israel. Praise God that Congress stands with Israel in no uncertain terms. When P.M. Netanyahu addresses Congress next month, he will be speaking to a room full of friends. Praise God!

11. H.Con.Res. 33: Using the Rotunda of the Capitol to Commemorate the Holocaust - CHPP

The full title of this resolution reads as: "Permitting the Use of the Rotunda of the Capitol for a Ceremony as Part of the Commemoration of the Days of Remembrance of Victims of the Holocaust." This ceremony of remembrance will take place in the Rotunda of the Capitol on Tuesday, May 17th . . . even as Prime Minister Netanyahu will be in Washington.

The House passed this bill with the Senate concurring, adding "Physical preparations for the ceremony shall be carried out in accordance with such conditions as the Architect of the Capitol may prescribe."

In remarks on the floor of the House, Rep. Robert Brady (D-PA) stated; "This year's theme is ``Justice and Accountability in the Face of Genocide: What Have We Learned?'' It is important that as we reflect on one most notable tragedies in human history, we honor the memory of those who died so senselessly by not forgetting that there can be no tolerance for prejudice, oppression and hatred and pledge anew to stop those seeds of oppression from leading to atrocities like genocide. "

- Offer praise that our Congress will, indeed, set aside time to remember the victims of the Holocaust during this memorable event. Pray for all who will be involved in its planning, that this ceremony will be carried out with the dignity it deserves, and that the point be made loud and clear that NEVER AGAIN will we see a repeat of this horrible atrocity on earth.

A furious storm system that kicked up tornadoes, flash floods and hail as big as softballs has claimed at least 44 lives on a rampage that began in Oklahoma days ago, then smashed across several Southern states as it reached a new and deadly pitch in North Carolina and Virginia.

- Pray for those who mourn the loss of family members and friends from these tornadoes. Those who lost all their homes and possessions also need our comforting prayers. Our USA geography is both a blessing and a curse, for with the warm Gulf of Mexico in the south and the Great Lakes in the north, we have the perfect set-up for violent storms, but we also have the moisture to produce plenteous crops. Give praise to the Lord for His blessings upon this land. Pray that no one rejects his faith in the Lord because of the losses from these violent tornadoes. Repent for the sins of our nation.

2. Winds-stoked wildfires threaten Texas communities - AP

AUSTIN, Texas - Strong winds and tinder-dry conditions presented more challenges Sunday for firefighters battling a spate of wildfires threatening communities across Texas, including a blaze in Austin that destroyed several homes and prompted an aerial water attack in the capital city. The wildfires have ravaged more than 1,000 square miles of mostly rural terrain in the last week, prompting Gov. Rick Perry to ask Obama for federal help. "Texas is reaching its capacity to respond to these emergencies and is in need of federal assistance," Perry said in a statement Sunday. "I urge ... Obama to approve our request quickly." Wildfires have spread across more than 700,000 acres - about the size of Rhode Island - in drought-stricken Texas. About half a dozen massive fires were still burning.

- As we pray for the victims of the tornadoes this week, let us pray, too, for the victims of these terrible fires. Lift up all who are fighting these fires, that they be graced with unusual strength for this task. Pray, too, that the president will answer the plea of Governor Perry, releasing federal funds to assist in this crisis.

3. Swarm of Quakes have Experts Concerned - NBC News4

Nevada Seismologists are keeping a close eye on an area southwest of Hawthorne, Nevada where hundreds of earthquakes have been detected since Sunday.

- Reports further state that this swarm is occurring in an area where no fault line exists. Keep a watchful eye on this area of our nation, asking God for mercy in the midst of judgment.

The Arizona Legislature gave final approval late Thursday night to a proposal that would require Obama and other presidential candidates to prove they are U.S. citizens before their names can appear on the state's ballot.

5. FBI Counter-Terror Official: Al Qaeda 'Thrives' After Dictators Fall - ABCNews

On the same day reports emerged of a new al Qaeda video that praised the revolutions sweeping the Arab world, one the U.S.'s top counter-terror officials warned the terror organization "thrives" in the political unrest that follows. "The governments of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen have drastically changed in the last six months," FBI Assistant Director of Counter-Terrorism Mark Giuliano said Thursday.

- Are we surprised by this announcement by the FBI? Not at all, for we knew that the rebellions have been fomented by the Muslim Brotherhood. Certainly many of the protestors are people who want more liberties, but others are jihadists who are following the call for Islamic domination of the world and the destruction of Israel. Pray for those who truly seek liberty within their countries: for their protection and courage. Ask the Lord to protect our military where they are fighting in these Middle East countries and for the CIA that it may gather accurate information to help these dictators out of office and help to defeat Al Qaeda.

7. Netanyahu to pitch peace plan on US visit - The Australian

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said yesterday he would use a rare speech to a joint session of the US congress next month to spell out his plan for forging a lasting peace with the Palestinians. Mr. Netanyahu, in televised remarks to his Likud party, said he aimed for a durable end to the decades-old conflict, not just "peace on paper", and he had "set some conditions to ensure that we have such an agreement".

- With the UN deciding that Palestinians are ready to govern their own land if Israel will remove itself from occupation, we must pray that the Lord's wisdom pervades all of Netanyahu's plan and his speech. At the least, his speech will not fall on deaf ears in our US Congress as it would at the UN. Ask the Lord to protect Netanyahu as he travels to the USA next month and as he appears before Congress.

8. Obama coming to Reno on Thursday - RGJ.com

Will Make a Three-Day Swing Across the Nation This Week

Obama is making a three-day swing to explain his vision for reducing the national debt and it concludes Thursday in Reno.

The White House issued a press release that day Obama will come to Reno to discuss " the ways the leaders in Washington can come together and meet the expectations of the American people."

It follows town hall meetings on Tuesday in northern Virginia and on Wednesday in Palo Alto, Calif. Read more

Dangerous Weather Targets Storm-Weary Plains

A storm quietly crossing the northern Pacific Ocean will be responsible for more severe weather across the Plains as soon as Thursday afternoon. The storm pushing into the Pacific Northwest Wednesday with little fanfare will produce some mountain snow and valley rain. However, as the storm moves into the Plains, it will strengthen into a potent, dynamic storm with heavy accumulating snow on the northern edge while severe thunderstorms rage farther south. Warm, humid air, a key factor to pinpointing a severe weather threat, will be in place across eastern Kansas and eastern Oklahoma on Thursday. The storm will interact with the warm, humid air, along with a strong jet stream aloft, creating a volatile atmosphere. Damaging winds, large hail, continuous cloud-to-ground lightning and even tornadoes will threaten the region by Thursday afternoon.

Classic' weather system brings Blizzard / tornado warnings

The severe storms continue this morning into the South. A line of storms ahead of a cold front is headed East out of AR and TX into LA, MS, and TN. A tornado watch is up for a good chunk of the region, including Memphis early this morning. The weather will quickly go downhill for the afternoon in the Deep South as well, with a good chance of tornadoes in MS and AL/TN this afternoon.

Alabama -- Vicious storms and howling winds smacked the U.S. South, killing at least seven people in Alabama including three family members whose homes were tossed into nearby woods. Interesting how the Lord responded so quickly to send the US a strong warning signal by sending 241 tornadoes tearing through 14 States in just three days. What will be the consequences when the US abandons Israel and aligns itself with ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH TO COME AGAINST JUDAH AND JERUSALEM, TO DIVIDE THE LAND AND GOD'S HOLY CITY JERUSALEM TO CREATE A NEW MUSLIM NATION ON THE LAND GOD PROMISED TO ISRAEL AS AN EVERLASTING POSSESSION.

On May 1, 2011, The United States and the world will have an unprecedented moment of grace to witness to the Jewish communities through March of Life events that will be held around the country. Led by Ted Pearce, an internationally known Messianic Psalmist, and Pastor Jobst Bittner of Germany`s TOS Ministry, they will travel to different cities and walk to remember the Holocaust and the Millions of Jews that perished during that tragic time. (Jobst Bittner established eight prayer centers 24/7 worldwide and is responsible for gathering 50,000 intercessors in Argentina that would form the foundation for the Revival in that Nation.)

After we walk to remember the Holocaust victims, there will be speaking engagements by Holocaust survivors and a solemn time to pray that we will not forget and choose to pray for the Jewish people. The March of Life is led by Messianic Jews and Church leaders who will join as the "one new man" reflection of the Messiah Yeshua. Messianic Rabbis and Congregational leaders within the Messianic community will have a chance to show the Love of Messiah to His Chosen People that reside in these communities.
