Supreme Court Victory: Docket Announced for Next Year

SUPREME COURT TO HEAR FIRST ABORTION CASE SINCE TWO NEW JUSTICES APPOINTED BY TRUMP

Editor's note: Last Tuesday, hundreds of pro-life advocates joined in a mass demonstration, in front of the Supreme Court, to ask (in part) that the Court hear "the Louisiana case" this year by placing in on their docket.

God has heard and answered our prayers, and we join all of you now in rejoicing over this victory -- reported below by our friends at Intercessors for America. Thank you!

To the delight of pro-life advocates, the U.S. Supreme Court announced Friday it will consider a challenge to a Republican-backed Louisiana law requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.

The nation's high court granted a petition for certiorari filed by the Center for Reproductive Rights on behalf of an abortion clinic and two abortionists in the case of June Medical Services v. Gee.

The Center for Reproductive Rights contends that the Louisiana law - adopted in 2014 - would close every abortion clinic in the state except for one. The law has been blocked since its enactment.

This marks the first abortion-related case to be argued before the Supreme Court since the confirmations of Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch, both of whom were nominated by President Donald Trump and have given the court a conservative majority. . . .

"Over a quarter of a million Americans have signed The Moral Outcry Petition calling on the court to reverse Roe and Doe under the Law of Judicial Precedent," a statement from The Justice Foundation reads. "Reversing these decisions would make America, including American women who do not want to take care of a child for any reason, better off. Now is the time to end the tragedy of abortion in America."
Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life, said in a statement that abortion activists are "more than willing to lower the bar on women's health in order to expand abortion."

"[S]tricter clinic regulations are in the best interest of women," she said in a statement. "Just recently we were reminded of the need for more oversight when it comes to abortion, not less, with the appalling case of abortionist Ulrich Klopfer who collected thousands of aborted babies' bodies in his home. We applaud the Louisiana bill's sponsor Katrina Jackson as well as its other supporters for taking concrete steps to protect women in that state." . . .

Before the court's announcement that it will take up the case, prominent abortion-rights lobbying organization NARAL tweeted that taking up the case "would allow [Supreme Court] to gut Roe v. Wade."

"This is NOT a drill: The constitutional right to abortion is hanging in the balance," NARAL's tweet reads.

(Intercessors for America) Read more here.
- Lord God, we pray that Roe v. Wade would be overturned and that the new Supreme Court would return our judiciary to originalism and an accurate interpretation of the Constitution.

- "This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." (Deuteronomy 30:19)

1. As Unity Talks Stall, Netanyahu to Meet with Liberman - Bridges for Peace

Benjamin Netanyahu and Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman will meet Thursday morning in Jerusalem as part of the prime minister's efforts to form a coalition government.

"There's no point wasting the country's time," Netanyahu told Liberman in a conversation Wednesday. "We'll meet, see if this is serious or not and based on that make a decision." (Read more)

- Pray that these leaders will hear the voice of the Lord and be obedient to His direction. Beseech Him that the man of His choice will be successful in forming a coalition. Pray that all involved will set personal ambition aside and do what is best for the nation.

- "Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding." (Daniel 2:20-21)

2. Israeli UN Speech Calls for Global Recognition of Jerusalem and Pressure on Iran - BFP

Foreign Minister Israel Katz had a message for the world, and what better venue to deliver it than at the United Nations General Assembly last week. From recognizing Jerusalem to pressuring Hamas to countering Iran, Katz repeatedly called for all nations to unite in common causes in a speech delivered last Thursday.

"I call on the international community to unite in order to stop Iran," said Katz, according to a transcript of his speech posted to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. "The world cannot allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. The world cannot allow Iran to develop ballistic missiles, and the world must stop Iran from supporting terror organizations in the region."

Israel's top diplomat went on to specifically call for the UN to label Hezbollah and Iran's powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as terror organizations. "They promote terror in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, and all over the world," said Katz. "And the world must stop them." Katz also urged the world to join United States President Donald Trump's "maximum pressure" campaign against Iran, and that wasn't the only area he hoped the international community would follow Trump's lead. (Read more)

- Thank the Lord for the words of these two political leaders and their commitment to the telling the truth. Pray that US Secretary of State Pompeo's belief that the world is awakening to the importance of stopping Iran and of supporting Israel is in fact true.

- For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. (Proverbs 2:6-8)

3. Israel's top ministers to meet for first time in months, amid warnings on Iran -Times Of Israel

The Security Cabinet will convene Sunday for the first time in two months, amid cryptic warnings by Israeli leadership in recent days of a growing security threat. Members of the top forum will meet at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem in the afternoon. In recent days Hebrew media has on several occasions quoted unnamed security officials as warning of the rising threat of an attack orchestrated by Iran.

On Friday, Channel 13 news was the latest to report concerns that Tehran, emboldened by military successes against the US and Saudi Arabia, will seek to attack the Jewish state.

4. 22nd Knesset Kicks Off Inauguration As Arab MKs Boycott Ceremonies - Jewish Press

Nearly all the members of the 22nd Knesset on Thursday arrived at the Israeli parliament ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, only four months after the previous Knesset celebrated a similar event.

The lawmakers were scheduled to gather in Jerusalem for the swearing-in at 4 pm, and each was to rise, one by one, to take the pledge. The MKs were to attend a toast during which the customary photo of elected faction leaders was to be snapped, following the inauguration in the Knesset plenum.

The inauguration is taking place under unique circumstances, occurring after the shortest-ever serving Knesset, and without 13 Members of Knesset (MKs) who are boycotting the ceremony in protest. The Joint List, an Arab-majority party in the Knesset, announced its MKs would not attend the inauguration in protest of the rising violence in Arab communities and loss of life.

5. Liberman: 'A state of national emergency' - Israel National News

MK Avigdor Liberman, who chairs the Knesset's Yisrael Beytenu party, on Saturday night called on Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White Chairman MK Benny Gantz to create a unity government.

"Tomorrow will mark 46 years since the Yom Kippur War broke out," he wrote on his Facebook page. "This war left scars and the memories of its fallen are forever engraved in the hearts of Israeli society. As we remember those who fell during this war, we must also remember, especially at this moment, the legacy they left us - a legacy of bravery, determination, leadership, and a love for the Land and the People."

"We are now at a political crossroads. The results of the elections lead us to a single conclusion: The people want a unity government.

"In light of the state of national emergency, the economic challenges, and the security threats in the north and south, and from other more distant places, I reiterate my call to Prime Minister Netanyahu and MK Benny Gantz: Show responsibility and leadership, put your ego aside and stop with the games, the spins, and the time-wasting.

6. Israel Working To Advance Alliance With Gulf States- Jerusalem Post

Spurred by the growing Iranian threat, Foreign Minister Israel Katz advanced a historic alliance between Israel and the Gulf states when he met with his Arab counterparts on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly two weeks ago.

"Recently I have advanced, with the support of the Prime Minister, a diplomatic initiative to sign a non-aggression pact with the Arab states in the Gulf. This historic initiative will put an end to the conflict [between the Gulf states and Israel] and allow for civilian cooperation until peace agreements are signed," Katz tweeted on Sunday.

"During my visit to the UN to presented the plan Arab foreign ministers and to the US envoy [Jason Greenblatt]. I will continue to act to strengthen Israel's standing in the region and the world," he said.

Security authorities in India are on heightened alert due to a threat that terrorists will target Israeli and Jewish sites in the country during the High Holidays, with a particular concern about Yom Kippur, which begins on Tuesday night, Channel 12 reported.

The Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, synagogues, Jewish schools and restaurants and hotels popular among Israeli tourists are said to be in the crosshairs of a terror cell linked to Al-Qaeda or ISIS.

According to the Channel 12 report, Israel is cooperating with India in an effort to thwart the potential attacks.

The Daily Brief

1. 'Whistleblower' Didn't Disclose Contact w/ House Intel Panel to IG - Breitbart

The partisan CIA officer behind a so-called "whistleblower" complaint about President Donald Trump's telephone call with the leader of Ukraine reportedly did not disclose his communications with a House Intelligence Committee staffer to the Intelligence Community inspector general.

According to Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge, inspector general Michael Atkinson told lawmakers that he had "no knowledge" of the officer's contacts with the House Intel panel aide. This week, a New York Times report revealed that the officer and staff member first discussed the allegations against the president before the inspector general received the complaint.

"We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to," Schiff told MSNBC contributor Sam Stein when asked if the two had ever spoken. "But I am sure the whistleblower has concerns that he has not been advised, as the law requires, by the inspector general or the director of national Intelligence just how he is supposed to communicate with Congress, and so the risk to the whistleblower is retaliation." - Lord God, these accusations are based upon lies, lies, lies. Let the truth be revealed! We ask that the fire of the Holy Spirit would burn out the spider's web that is hiding the truth behind all of these accusation, dear Lord. Let the truth be made known!

- "Hail will sweep away your refuge of lies." (Isaiah 28:17)

"They hatch the eggs of vipers and spin a spider's web. . . "Their cobwebs are useless for clothing; they cannot cover themselves with what they make." (Isaiah 59:5,6)

2. Trump on Latest Economic Numbers: 'We're the Miracle' - CNS News

President Donald Trump celebrated the latest jobs numbers on Friday, showing record employment in September at 158,269,000 and 3.5 percent unemployment - the best since 1969. "We haven't had numbers like this in a long time. Wages are up by almost 3 percent. That's a fantastic increase for everybody out there working," Trump told reporters before heading to Bethesda, Md., to meet with wounded warriors.

"The stock market is substantially up, as it was yesterday, and our country does well. Europe is not doing well. Asia is doing poorly, to put it mildly, and we continue to do very well. We're the miracle," he said. The president said when he was running for office wages were trending downward and people needed to work two and three jobs. "They were making less money than they made 20 years before. Now wages are up. So we're very happy about that," he said. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that all these great amazing facts about the latest economic numbers will be on every media outlet across the country and that the mouths of the liars and inciters will be closed and unable to spread false news. We bind all forces of darkness under the Blood of Jesus. For we pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's and unto God the things that are God's." (Matthew 22:21)

3. Pompeo Focuses on Faith at the Vatican, Calls Out Governments Repressing Religious Freedom - CBN News

With impeachment fever taking over Washington, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo focused on faith while visiting the Vatican on Wednesday. He called on all nations to join the Trump administration in protecting religious freedom. It's estimated 11 Christians die each day for their faith.

Pompeo used this faith-based gathering to layout alarming statistics including reports that 1 in 9 Christians worldwide experience high levels of persecution. Global persecution is up 14% from last year. Pompeo specifically pointed at China, Cuba, Iran, and Syria as some of the key countries repressing religious freedom. Pompeo added that when governments hold absolute power they "demand its citizens' worship government, not God." His visit to Rome is part of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Vatican and the US. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that the outstanding testimonies in the Bible of glorious victory over sin, darkness and false teachings be revealed. Persecution of Christians is caused by dark, sinister evil spirits in people with no faith. Light versus darkness. May God's influence be spread worldwide. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved."
(Romans 10:13)

4. House Oversight Committee Subpoenas White House for Ukraine Documents - Breitbart

Late Friday evening, in the latest impeachment inquiry move, the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed the White House in regards to President Donald Trump's dealings with Ukraine, claiming Trump "has chosen the path of defiance, obstruction, and cover-up."

The letter, which was sent to acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and gives the White House until October 18th to produce information, was organized by Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD), Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel (D-NY).

Last month, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced a formal impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump. House Democrats also sent a letter on Friday which requested documents by October 15th from Vice President Mike Pence. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray the House Oversight Committee will come under the powerful hand of God. Break up the hoards of demons by the power of the Blood of Jesus. We claim victory and protection over President Trump, and impeachment will be closed down. In Jesus' Name.

"And the peoples will be as if burned in lime, like thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire. Hear what I have done, far and near, acknowledge God's might. Trembling has seized the godless." (Isaiah 33:12-14)

5. Testimony From Ukraine Envoy Kurt Volker Directly Contradicts Democrats' Impeachment Narrative - The Federalist

Ambassador Kurt Volker, who served for two years as the top U.S. diplomatic envoy to Ukraine, testified on Thursday that he was never aware of and never took part in any effort to push the Ukrainian government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden or his son Hunter.

He also stressed that the interactions between Giuliani and Ukrainian officials were facilitated not to find dirt on Biden, but to assuage concerns that the incoming Ukrainian government would not be able to get a handle on corruption within the country.

Volker testified that he never even mentioned a delay on U.S. military assistance to Ukrainian officials until late August, when news reports indicated that funding had been put on hold. Volker's statement directly undercuts claims that the funding was part of a quid pro quo meant to force the Ukrainians to take certain actions in order for the military aids to be released. (Read more)

- Father God, this testimony from Kurt Volker directly contradicts every Democrats' impeachment narrative, which makes all that null and void, proving that the Democrats have levied lies against President Trump. Praise God for truth. In the Name of Jesus, amen.

- "Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truthfully are His delight." (Proverbs 12:22)

6. Trump's Worldwide Dragnet to Catch the Hoaxers - American Greatness

Buried somewhere in recent impeachment reporting was the real news that federal prosecutors are conducting an international dragnet to find the perpetrators of the Russia hoax.

Last week, the Justice Department issued a statement, "A team led by U.S. Attorney John Durham is separately exploring the extent to which a number of countries, including Ukraine, played a role in the counterintelligence investigation directed at the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.

It was later learned that Attorney General Barr was absent from Washington and could not answer questions because he was in Italy, where Josef Mifsud-the Western [intelligence] asset who plays a Russian collaborator in the Mueller Report-lives. Officials in the UK and Australia also have been contacted. (Read more)

- Father God, we trust You will equip President Trump as he seeks out the absolute truth regarding the Russia hoax. This will include all the investigations directed at the Trump campaign during the 2016 election. Bring to light all the counter players from the previous administration and the one who lost the presidency to be charged for their crimes. In the Name of Jesus we pray, amen.

- "The lip of truth shall be established forever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment." (Proverbs 12:19)

7. President Trump Is Absolutely Right To Assume Federal Agencies Are Against Him - The Federalist

The real scandal of the Ukrainian debacle that continues to lead every cable broadcast is that, once again, the actions of unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats have deeply affected an election in United States. In recent days, it has come out not only that the intelligence community inspector general changed policy about secondhand information to fit this particular whistleblower complaint, but also that the whistleblower him- or herself was working with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and House Democrats before filing the complaint.

Among the revelations of the past week has been that the president has to "hide" his phone calls from much of his own administration to reduce leaks. This move might seem to indicate guilt-and is certainly being spun that way by Democrats and the media-but for the knowledge that the president isn't wrong to mistrust his own workforce. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray earnestly that all the wicked, evil actions of the unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats that have deeply affected this election in the United States be exposed. Annihilate their every action against our President. We ask You to strengthen President Trump in every area of his life. We pray this in the Name of Jesus, amen.

- "Wherefore come out from among them, and be separate says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing: and I will receive you." (II Corinthians 6:17)

8. Trump to Protect U.S. Taxpayers from Subsidizing Health Care for Immigrants - Breitbart

President Trump signed a presidential proclamation on Friday to protect American taxpayers from being forced to subsidize the healthcare costs of legal immigrants wanting to permanently resettle in the United States. The costs associated with this care are passed on to the American people in the form of higher taxes, higher premiums, and higher fees for medical services. In total, uncompensated care costs have exceeded $35 billion in each of the last 10 years and can drive hospitals into insolvency.

The rule comes as Trump announced a plan in August that effectively bans welfare-dependent immigrants from permanently resettling in the U.S., as they are a net-burn to taxpayers. United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Ken Cuccinelli has said the rule, known as the "Public Charge," is designed to ensure self-sufficient, English-speaking foreign nationals are prioritized over those who are likely to end up on welfare. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray this presidential proclamation be made law to effectively ban welfare-dependent immigrants from permanently resettling in the United States. Protect our country by the resurrection power of the Blood of Jesus. In His Name we pray.

- "Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
(Proverbs 14:34)

9. FDA: Thousands of Deaths Linked to Puberty Blockers - Breitbart

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has documented thousands of deaths linked to the puberty-blocking drugs now increasingly given to children who suffer from gender dysphoria or claim to be "transgender."

Between 2013 and June 2019, FDA recorded 41,213 adverse events, including 6,379 deaths and 25,645 "serious" reactions in patients who took the hormone blocker known as Lupron. It is also being used as a puberty blocker on the increasing number of children and adolescents who are being diagnosed in the U.S. This is being done despite the fact there is no evidence that such hormonal treatments actually benefit children and adolescents with gender dysphoria. Complications related to the drug's use include malignant tumors, cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and blood clots, suicidal behavior and other psychological disorders, brittle bones and painful joints, and sterility. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we ask that You will go to the core, the root, where Lupron is being manufactured and cut off all the machinery and the elements that go into producing this medicine. Close the purses that benefit from the sales of his killer drug. We trust and pray in the Name of Jesus.

"I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord." (Psalm 101:8)

10. Soros Gives Planned Parenthood Va. Its Largest Outside Contribution Ever - Free Beacon

The Democracy PAC, Soros's PAC that was created earlier this year for the 2020 election cycle, sent a $350,000 donation to Planned Parenthood Virginia's committee in September, according to filings on the Virginia Public Access Project's website. The donation appears to be the largest outside contribution ever received by the committee.

The Democracy PAC was quietly established in January by Soros's spokesperson, Michael Vachon, who acts as the group's treasurer. An individual familiar with the PAC told Politico in August that it would be used for the 2020 election cycle to fund other liberal groups.

Soros's money enters Virginia as outside liberal donors and groups are showering the state with cash as they attempt to regain control of both houses of the state legislature this November. Soros also poured nearly $1 million into Virginia earlier this year to back far-left prosecutor candidates. Both candidates that the financier backed won their Democratic primaries and are virtually guaranteed victory in the heavily liberal areas of Northern Virginia during the general election. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that the best-laid plans of the adversary will fail to hit its mark. We ask that the grumblings of this evil structure in the State of Virginia will rock and quake off its foundation, should it side with the evil liberal plans. We pray in the mighty Name of Jesus.

- "In our distress we called upon the Lord; and cried unto our God: He heard our voices out of His temple, and our cries came before Him, even into His ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because He was wroth." (Psalm 18:6-7)

Rubbing noses into the stench of corruption

After a week-long media blitz on impeaching President Trump, the media and the Democratic Party leadership have whipped themselves up into another frenzy as Trump encouraged China to investigate former vice president and current Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. Trump, as the media insinuates, is boldly rubbing the impeachers' noses in the very thing about which they are trying to impeach him on-asking countries involved with alleged Biden corruption to investigate the corruption. They apparently can't believe that Trump is flaunting his impeachable offenses before the entire world. Trump, however, says he has a duty to expose corruption.

In a tweet, Trump said, "As the President of the United States, I have an absolute right, perhaps even a duty, to investigate, or have investigated, CORRUPTION, and that would include asking, or suggesting, other Countries to help us out!" He previously said at the White House, according to AP, "China should start an investigation into the Bidens." The rub of the nose into the stench of corruption comes from Democrats believing it is against the law to ask another country for an investigation of a political opponent, even though that opponent openly bragged about how when he was vice president he withheld funds from Ukraine to fire a prosecutor who was investigating his son for corruption. Hunter Biden is also involved in similar deals in China. What was Hillary Clinton and the ex-president doing with Russia and Ukraine against Trump?
AP, which long has left any semblance of balance in its reporting about Trump, is having apoplexy. AP writes, "The boldness of Trump's call Thursday also suggests he will continue to act as though requests for other countries to investigate potential opponents in the 2020 election are normal, even in the face of broad condemnation from Democrats and some Republicans. It's a tactic Trump has used successfully before, pushing questionable secret conversations into the open, hoping to inoculate him against charges that he is engaged in nefarious action, cover-ups or obstruction of justice." Interesting. AP appears to believe that being open about what's going on is an attempt somehow to cover up the facts. Quite frankly, if Biden seeks to be president, shouldn't all his dealings be transparent? Shouldn't he welcome that?
If anything was learned from the Mueller Investigation into "nefarious action, cover-ups or obstruction of justice," it was that Trump was exonerated because the nefarious action was conducted against him. The same players-deep-state operatives, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA), the news media, and Democratic Party leadership-are repeating their operations, hoping something will stick to remove Trump from office. In that process, we are seeing first hand some of the corruption. As citizens, as Christians, we should expect, demand, and pray for the truth to be revealed. As is written in Job 34:12, "Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment (distort justice)." Let the light shine!

Breaking News

Turkey announces incursion of northeast Syria, US-backed Kurds have vowed 'all-out' war

The White House announced late Sunday that Turkey will soon move forward with its planned military operation in northeast Syria in an area where U.S. troops have been deployed and operating with Kurdish-led forces.

The U.S. will not be involved in the operation, the White House said. President Trump spoke with Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan by telephone. U.S. troops will be moved from the area.

"The United States will not hold them for what could be many years and great cost to the United States taxpayer," the statement read. "Turkey will now be responsible for all ISIS fighters in the area captured over the past two years in the wake of the territorial "Caliphate" by the United States."

Erdogan said his country has given enough warning and have "acted with enough patience." Erdogan has expressed frustration with Washington's support for Kurdish groups in Syria.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces said it is committed to the agreement between Turkey and the U.S. to preserve stability in the region.

"However, we will not hesitate to turn any unprovoked attack by Turkey into an all-out war on the entire border to DEFEND ourselves and our people," SDF spokesman Mustafa Bali tweeted a day earlier.

Many took to social media to criticize the White House's decision and said the U.S. is essentially abandoning the Kurds. (Fox News) Read more here. Read more here.

KURDS SHOCKED BY US TROOP WITHDRAWAL

Syrian Kurds allied with US shocked, scared by news of troop withdrawal

Wednesday's surprise announcement that the U.S. will quickly withdraw all its troops from Syria is the stuff of nightmares for many of the Kurds living under the protection of U.S forces and the American-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

"Everyone is upset, sad and afraid," one SDF member from the Kurdish-dominant Syrian city of Kobane told Fox News. "It's a historic mistake. We wanted to be part of America. We are surrounded by enemies, and ISIS isn't even finished yet."

Most who spoke to Fox News were scared to use their names or publish their faces, in case the Assad-controlled Syrian regime retakes the area and retaliates against those who have spoken out. But most of all, the millions in the region left in limbo are concerned about strikes from the Turkish side of the border.

"Everyone is confused and scared. This will mean that Turkey will likely attack us. We are in shock because we thought the U.S. would help us achieve peace after ISIS. We didn't think that they would help us defeat the terrorists and then leave us alone to face the horror of Turkish forces and its extreme factions," lamented Mazloum Kurdy, a 33-year-old father and teacher from Kobane. "Now people are thinking to displace themselves from their homes here again, but nobody knows where a safe place to go is."

In his words, it is an ultimate betrayal by the United States. (Fox News) Read more here.

- We ask our prayer partners to please simply pray in the Spirit over these reports. May God's will be done; and may the Kurds experience the supernatural protection of our Savior. Amen.

- "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words." (Romans 8:26)

Why Your Church Should Sing More 'Old' Worship Songs

Editor's comment: A note to our readers

Over the years, you may have noticed that, in every issue of the Daily Brief, we feature both a section for "Classic Hymns" and a section simply titled "Worship with Us Today!"

This combination of expressions of worship was borne by the Holy Spirit . . . we simply felt to include both in each of our publications. . . Yours truly (Sara) researches and publishes the Classic Hymns, and when I do, I am always inspired to know that, often in the midst of a time of great travail (the Civil War, for instance), the saints of old nevertheless turned their eyes upon Jesus in songs of magnificent and powerful praise. Thank You, Lord!
Meanwhile, another of our editors (Joni) is researching and posting wonderful songs of contemporary worship, each posted with an amazing music video, capturing the joy of each posting.
So, together, Joni and I bring you these "gifts" each day from CHPP, and we trust that you are as blessed as we are to "dig into" each one, enjoying the fullness of His presence in your lives.

The article, at the head of this section, seems to summarize our own heartcry in this matter: in Christ, we are ALL ONE, whether in ages past, or now!

So, sing away, Church! It's all good!

In His Amazing Grace,

Sara Ballenger

Classic Hymns

GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

"His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Lyrics

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

About the Author:

Words: Thomas O. Chisholm, 1923.

Melody: William M. Runyan, 1923

About the Hymn:

According to Chisholm, there were no special circumstances which caused its writing-just his experience and Bible truth. The hymn first appeared in Songs of Salvation and Service, 1923, compiled by William Runyan. It is the unofficial "school hymn" of Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Illinois, with which Runyan was associated for a number of years.

Runyan wrote the music specifically for these words: "This particular poem held such an appeal that I prayed most earnestly that my tune might carry its message in a worthy way, and the subsequent history of its use indicates that God answered prayer."

Falling Fireballs Crashed in Chile Last Week.
They Weren't Meteorites, Experts Say

Goodness gracious! Great balls of fire rained from the sky in Chile last week, and officials are still trying to figure out what they were and where they came from.

One thing is certain: The mysterious burning objects were not meteors, according to news reports.

The fiery UFOs descended on Dalcahue City on the Chilean island of Chiloé on Sept. 25, CNET reported. . The tumbling objects crash-landed in seven locations, setting off fires that were promptly put out by volunteer firefighters. .

Chiloé island resident Bernardita Ojeda had one fireball land on her property, where the flames ignited a few bushes, Ojeda told local news station Channel 2.

Geologists from Chile's National Geology and Mining Service soon arrived to examine the seven sites that had been scorched by the falling space stuff. While they conducted their analyses, the story spread through local news, social media and national outlets.

. . . On Sept. 28, the geologists released their official assessment: None of the seven sites contained traces of meteorite. Since the mysterious objects weren't meteors, logic dictates that they must have been wayward space junk, but officials said they'll be conducting more detailed analyses of soil samples collected from the singed sites to make sure, according to CNET. The geologists will release their results later this month. Only time will tell what exactly fell from the heavens on that unusual September evening. (Live Science) Read more.

Anne Graham Lotz, a Year after Breast Cancer Diagnosis,
Says Joy 'Never Left Me'

Anne Graham Lotz's journey has been a tough one lately: A year ago, three years after the death of her husband and six months after the funeral of her famous evangelist father, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

But the 71-year-old Bible teacher and daughter of Billy Graham says she has refused to give up hope and her faith remains a constant.

"The Christian life is so much more than just being saved from hell and is so much more than just going to heaven - praise God for both of those things," she said. "It's more than just a checklist of do's and don'ts. It's a relationship that's vibrant and alive and it's sufficient to carry you through the hardest things."

As she completes her cancer treatment this week, Lotz is free again to travel for public appearances - including a visit to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Oct. 3 - as she promotes her latest book, "Jesus in Me: Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion." About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
