ABOUT OCTOBER 31st:

Please go here to read an excellent article by Kris Schlyder, Coordinator, Australian Indigenous Prayer Network, about the dangers and the reality of October 31st. We join in the prayer of repentance, here in America, with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Australia, that our nation, too, has so embraced the lie of "Halloween" in our culture.

Trump announces grisly death of Islamic State leader Baghdadi during U.S. raid

Al-Baghdadi takedown catches Dems flat-footed, blunts criticism of Trump's Syria pullback

- For all headlines captured below, we say: PRAISE THE LORD! Today's amazing announcement by President Trump will be a story we will be following for many days to come. Here are a few headlines to get us started:

- "Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the LORD!" (Psalm 150:6)

1. Trump announces grisly death of Islamic State leader Baghdadi during U.S. raid - OAN

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday announced that Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi killed himself during a daring overnight raid by elite U.S. special operations forces in Syria, in a major victory as he fights a Democratic-led impeachment inquiry.

Baghdadi died alongside three of his children by detonating an explosives-laden vest when he fled U.S. forces into a dead-end tunnel during the attack, which took place in the Idlib region in northwest Syria, the Republican president said in a televised address to the nation from the White House.

"Last night the United States brought the world's No.1 terrorist leader to justice," Trump said in extended remarks describing the raid. (Read more)

2. Trump describes al-Baghdadi as 'whimpering and crying' before dying in US operation: 'He died like a coward' - Fox News

President Trump, announcing the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, described him as dying "in a vicious and violent way, as a coward, running and crying."

"He died like a dog, he died like a coward," Trump said in a speech to the nation Sunday morning.

The ISIS leader's death came in a successful U.S. military operation in northwest Syria Saturday night that took roughly two hours.

The Islamic State leader detonated an explosive vest as U.S. Special Operations Forces stormed his compound in the Idrib Province. Trump said he died whimpering at the back of a dead-end tunnel.

He also said the U.S. had al-Baghdadi under surveillance for weeks. (Read more)

3. Al-Baghdadi takedown catches Dems flat-footed, blunts criticism of Trump's Syria pullback - Fox News

President Trump's successful operation to take out Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi sent Democrats scrambling on Sunday, as several top party leaders had complained publicly in recent days that the White House had no "real plan" to combat the terror group following the U.S. pullout in Syria.

"It's genuinely fascinating watching Democrats in real-time struggle to figure out what to say about this," journalist Glenn Greenwald wrote on Sunday. "They want to be patriotic and anti-ISIS, but also need a way to malign Trump without contradicting their gushing Obama praise over [Usama bin Laden]: not an easy balancing act. Good luck!"

Through the day, the Democrats -- including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Foreign Relations Committee ranking member Bob Menendez and former Vice President Joe Biden -- seemingly settled on a new strategy. They praised the troops who executed the historic raid, while pointedly avoiding complimenting the president in any way. (Read more)

4. Former NATO Commander: ISIS still a threat despite al-Baghdadi's death - OAN

Syrian citizens are celebrating the death of the Islamic State's leader, but U.S. officials are saying the fight against the terrorist group isn't over yet. In a Sunday interview, Former Supreme Allied Commander James Stavridis emphasized that ISIS could still make a comeback.

The former NATO commander said the recent elimination of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi marks an important milestone in the war on terror. However, Stavridis pointed out that ISIS has shown adaptability in the past and remains a threat.

"Those embers are still on the ground and the potential for them to re-flash is actually quite high," stated Stavridis. "The Islamic State is not just Baghdadi - it is an ideology and it is also a network."

He went on to say ISIS has deep ties to other Islamic terror groups, including al-Shabaab and al-Qaeda. Stavridis claimed these organizations will continue trying to sow death and destruction across the Middle East and beyond. (Read more)

5. Al-Baghdadi kill: How the daring military operation went down - Fox News

Unlike the raid in Pakistan in 2011 that led to the death of Osama bin Laden, which was carried out by a small team of U.S. Navy Seals, the raid on al-Baghdadi's compound was a relatively large assault by U.S. forces with a reported eight military helicopters landing in the Barisha area north of Idlib city - a few kilometers from the Turkish border.

The helicopters flew fast and low to the ground on their approach to the compound and U.S. forces - between 50 and 70 soldiers from the U.S. Army Delta Force and Rangers - were met with sporadic gunfire. But the president said that no American troops or personnel were killed or injured during the raid, during his Sunday morning announcement at the White House.

Trump said U.S. forces breached the walls of the compound since the doors and other entryways were booby-trapped with explosives. Once inside the compound, the U.S. troops chased al-Baghdadi, along with three of the terrorist group leader's children, into a "dead-end tunnel."

Once inside the tunnel, al-Baghdadi set off a suicide vest he was wearing, immediately killing himself and his children, while also partially collapsing the tunnel. Trump said U.S. military dogs chased the terrorist into the tunnel and it was reported that at least one of the dogs was injured during the raid. (Read more)

6. CNN and Jake Tapper 'applaud' President Trump for press conference performance following al-Baghdadi's death - Fox News

President Trump deserves credit for mentioning the names of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's American victims at the Sunday press conference following his death, said CNN host Jake Tapper.

"Something else that President Trump did that I'm sure everybody at this table applauds, which is he reminded us of the names of some of the people, the Americans and at least one Brit, who had been killed brutally by ISIS,"Tapper said on "State of the Union."

"The journalists James Foley and Stephen Sotloff -- the humanitarian workers, Peter Kassig and Kayla Mueller -- as well as the Jordanian pilot who had been burned alive by ISIS," he continued." (Read more)

7. Family of al-Baghdadi victim responds to his death following harrowing raid: 'Grateful to our president' - Fox News

Diane Foley, whose son James was beheaded at the behest of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, released a statement Sunday saying she is "grateful" to President Trump and the "brave troops" who carried out the raid against him.

Foley shared her statement on the "James Foley Foundation" Twitter account and said she hopes the operation will help cripple ISIS and other terror groups around the world.

"I am grateful to our President and brave troops for finding ISIS leader Al-Bagdadi. I hope this will hinder the resurgence of terror groups and pray that captured ISIS fighters will be brought to trial and held accountable," she tweeted. (Read more)

Focus on Israel

1. Arabs 'will be invited' to form next Israeli government, says Arab MK - World Israel News

MK Ahmad Tibi, a leading member of the Joint List of predominantly Arab non-Zionist parliamentarians, says his bloc is to be invited to talks on forming a new Israeli government that would be headed by MK Benny Gantz, leader of the Blue and White faction.

"We will be invited," Tibi told Israeli Kan public radio. "We know that such a meeting will come soon," he told the Ynet news outlet.

Such a move would be highly ironic because Liberman has referred to various Arab MKs as a "fifth column," questioning their loyalty to Israel as the Jewish State.

2. Report: Gantz tried for minority gov't with Haredim, New Right - was rebuffed - Times Of Israel

Before he was officially tasked with forming a government, Blue and White leader Benny Gantz looked at the possibility of attempting to form a minority coalition that would include Labor-Gesher, ultra-Orthodox parties and New Right, Channel 12 reported Friday evening.

Blue and White was said to hope such a coalition could be backed from outside by the Yisrael Beytenu party of Avigdor Liberman - who has repeatedly ruled out sitting with Haredi parties.

Blue and White put out feelers to Shas leader Aryeh Deri, United Torah Judaism's Moshe Gafni and New Right's Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked, but was rebuffed, the report said.

3. The key points of contention between Likud and Blue & White - Israel National News

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz, who met at the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv on Sunday evening, agreed on only one thing: the need to prevent third elections.

The parties discussed the key points of contention: while Likud demanded that Netanyahu be the first prime minister and serve for at least a year, Blue and White wants to wait until Netanyahu's legal process is complete.

According to a Channel 12 News report, Blue and White demanded to be the first in the rotation, and Likud insisted both on being first and on maintaining the right-wing bloc.

Likud explained that they have no interest in agreeing with the framework that includes less than a year of Netanyahu as prime minister, because otherwise additional elections are preferable, leaving them in power.

Blue and White responded that the time is not important but the legal process since they promised not to sit under a prime minister who was indicted. In the meantime, each side is entrenching itself in its position

4. Netanyahu may be tarnished by leaked recordings with newspaper publisher - World Israel News

Dominating today's news in Israel are secret recordings of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and newspaper publisher Arnon Mozes of Yediot Ahronot. The recordings were broadcast on Channel 13's Hamakor news program on Saturday night.

The recordings made in the course of two phone conversations that took place in 2014, Netanyahu and Mozes discuss making a deal in which Netanyahu will receive favorable coverage in Yediot Ahronot in return for advancing a law to hurt Yediot's main rival, Israel Hayom.

The recordings are part of Case 2000, in which Netanyahu faces indictment for fraud and breach of trust. Mozes also faces possible criminal charges. They've been made public just as the Attorney General's Office brings to a close its deliberations on whether to indict the prime minister.

The conversations were taped by Ari Harow, a former Netanyahu aide who has turned state witness.

Netanyahu appears to agree to Mozes's request to push through a law that would make it harder for hurt Yediot's competitor.

5. Netanyahu: Chief of Staff's Warnings of Approaching War with Iran Not a Spin - Jewish Press

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said that his own and IDF chief of staff Aviv Kochavi's recent remarks regarding a possible military confrontation with enemies north and south were not a spin, and that the security situation compels Israel to have a wide unity government.

Speaking at the opening of the weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said that the Middle East is again undergoing a jolt, and that Iraq, Lebanon and Syria are turbulent.

"We see what is happening in the Middle East," the PM told his assembled ministers. "The Middle East is again in upheaval. Lebanon, Iraq and Syria are in turmoil and Iran is running amok through these areas. We know that the force that has served us up until now must continue to strengthen in the face of all these phenomena. This requires tough decisions. What the Chief-of-Staff and I have said is not spin; it reflects the reality of present challenges and those of the near future.

"We must make tough decisions that require a government with broad shoulders, hence the importance of forming a broad national unity government. This is not a political question, but a national and security question of the highest order. I hope that we can advance this goal in the coming days. This was my goal immediately after the elections and it remains our goal. This is what the State of Israel needs now."

6. Netanyahu Congratulates Trump on Taking Out Brutal ISIS Leader - United with Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Member of Knesset (MK) Benny Gantz commended US President Donald Trump for his successful attack in Syria, which killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Netanyahu said that the killing of al-Baghdadi is very significant, but does not conclude the military campaign against ISIS.

"I would like to congratulate President Trump on the impressive achievement that led to the death of ISIS leader al-Baghdadi. It reflects the shared determination of Israel, the United States and all free countries, to fight against terrorist organizations and terror-states. This achievement is an important milestone, but the campaign is still ahead of us," said Netanyahu.

The Daily Brief

1. Durham's investigation into possible FBI misconduct is now criminal probe, sources say - Fox News

U.S. Attorney John Durham's ongoing probe into potential FBI and Justice Department misconduct in the run-up to the 2016 election through the spring of 2017 has transitioned into a full-fledged criminal investigation, two sources familiar with the investigation told Fox News on Thursday night.

One source added that DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz's upcoming report on alleged FBI surveillance abuses against the Trump campaign will shed light on why Durham's probe has become a criminal inquiry. Horowitz announced on Thursday his report would be available to the public soon, with "few" redactions.

The investigation's new status means Durham can subpoena witnesses, file charges, and impanel fact-finding grand juries. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that all the hidden lies and criminal activity against President Trump in the run-up to the 2016 election be exposed and criminal charges be filed against those who are the guilty parties. God, expose to the world just how evil the enemies of Trump are, and may they reap what they have sown in their fierce hatred. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "The sinners are afraid: trembling has seized the godless." (Isaiah 33:14)

2. Sen. Grassley Suspects Deep State May Bury 'Spygate' Report - The Epoch Times

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) suspects that the numerous delays of the release of a much-anticipated report on spying on the Trump campaign suggest that the deep state is working to bury the document. "All of the delays and excuses why the Horowitz IG FISA report isn't public yet after several months of anticipation of its issues leads me to the suspicion it's going to be 'deep six' by the deep state," Grassley wrote on Twitter on Oct. 21.

The senator's comment refers to the much-anticipated report by the Department of Justice (DOJ)'s Office of Inspector General on the investigation of potential abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). The release of the report had been rumored to be imminent for months but has been plagued by delays. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we are asking You to reveal the deep and secret things, because You know what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with You. Lord God, stand in the pathway to block the schemes of the deep state to "deep six" the Horowitz IG FISA report which will expose these evil schemes. Release the report this week through the power of the Blood of Jesus. We pray in His Name.

- "The face of the Lord is against them that do evil to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth." (Psalm 34:16)

3. Jordan to Schiff: Bring the Whistleblower in to Publicly Testify - CNSNews.com

On Oct. 23, Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), and Michael McCaul (R-Texas) sent a letter to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), calling him out for not following through with his September announcement that the "whistleblower" in the Trump impeachment inquiry would testify before Congress. "We are surprised by your announcement that the Committees will not receive testimony from the anonymous intelligence community employee whose complaint initiated the so-called impeachment inquiry," the letter states.

Chairman Schiff told This Week on ABC, on Sept. 29, that he had agreed to have the whistleblower testify "very soon" before the House Intelligence Committee, after the security process for the whistleblower and his or her lawyer was completed. Schiff stressed that the committee would get "unfiltered testimony." "You had earlier committed that the employee would provide 'unfiltered' testimony 'very soon' only to reverse course following revelations that the employee had a bias against President Donald Trump and that you had received a secret, early account of the allegations," said Jordan in his letter to Schiff.

The letter further states that since the impeachment inquiry was announced on Sept. 24 the three committees involved "have obtained information that contradicts the employee's [whistleblower] assertions," and the committees need to "assess the sources and credibility of the employee." (Read more)

- Almighty God, do a mighty work by bringing the whistleblower to testify before Congress. Expose the adverse Committees who will not receive testimony from the whistleblower and overrule their power. We pray the whistleblower will testify very soon before the House and will not be blocked by these committees. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth." (Psalm 34:16)

4. Trump cancels NYT, Washington Post subscriptions from WH - sify.com

US President Donald Trump has cancelled the White House's subscriptions to The New York Times and The Washington Post, and has instructed all federal agencies to do the same. "Not renewing subscriptions across all federal agencies will be a significant cost saving for taxpayers - hundreds of thousands of dollars," White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement on Thursday.

Government officials also said that these two newspapers will stop being delivered to the White House, which also subscribes to The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Financial Times and The New York Post, reports Efe news. Trump had hinted of the move in an interview with Fox News earlier this week. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray President Trump and all federal agencies will also cancel all subscriptions to The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Financial Times and The New York Post. This will defund false reporting by the liberal news reporting streams. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "The Lord brings the counsel of the heathen to nought: He makes the devices of the people of none effect." (Psalm 33:10)

5. US officials to tour Middle East and India next week - Israel National News

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will lead a US delegation next week on a five-country tour of the Middle East and India, including attending a Saudi investment conference he boycotted last year over the gruesome murder of a journalist, officials said Friday.

American officials will use the trip to increase pressure on Iran and strengthen economic ties with allies, the Treasury Department said in a statement, which confirmed prior AFP reporting that Mnuchin would attend the Saudi conference.

Mnuchin will be accompanied by top Treasury officials and Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's senior advisor and son-in-law, in a trip that also will include stops in Israel, the United Arab Emirates, India and Qatar.

"We look forward to engaging with our partners across the Middle East and in India to confront Iran's malign and destabilizing influence," Mnuchin said in the statement.

He also said US officials would work on collaboration in countering terrorism financing networks and improving economic conditions. (Read more)

- Father, we pray success over this trip by Treasury Secretary Mnuchin. We speak favor upon the United States and the Trump administration to accomplish their purpose of this trip which is to address the problems with Iran and strengthen economic ties with our allies. We pray that only Your plans and purposes will be fulfilled during this trip, in Your name, amen.

- "The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." (Isaiah 58:11)

6. Pompeo: Obama 'Invited' the Russians - Pretending to be Chemical Weapons Inspectors - Into Syria - CNSNews.com

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday accused the Obama administration of having "invited" the Russians to intervene militarily in the Syrian civil war, by having "them come in and pretend to be chemical weapons inspectors."

Asked during an interview with the Wichita Eagle whether the Russians have "been able to fill the power vacuum that was created by the withdrawal of U.S. troops in Syria" in recent weeks, Pompeo drew attention to the previous administration's Syria policies. "I remember who invited the Russians into Syria: It was President Barack Obama," he said. "I mean, he didn't just let them come in. He invited them in. He had them come in and pretend to be chemical weapons inspectors. He, he actively worked with the Russian leadership, said 'no, come on in, come on into Syria.'"

Pompeo was later asked whether President Trump's withdrawal of troops from northeastern Syria - ahead of a Turkish military offensive against Syrian Kurdish fighters allied to the U.S. - had "undercut U.S. credibility." After describing the premise as "insane," he asserted that "the word of the United States is much more respected today than it was just two-and-a-half years ago." (Read more)

- Father God, we trust that You will re-establish America's credibility with the Syrian leadership, by their acknowledgment of the gross negligence of Obama in his abominable actions with the Russians. Reinstate the high standards of the United States with Syria. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
(Proverbs 14:34)

7. Pentagon chief: US troops, armored vehicles going to Syria oil fields - Times of Israel

Pentagon chief Mark Esper said Friday that the United States will leave more American troops and armored vehicles in eastern Syria to help prevent Islamic State militants from gaining access to oil fields controlled by US-allied Syrian Kurds. That deployment will likely include tanks, a US official said.

The defense secretary confirmed that the US will send in an armored force to the region, but he did not provide details or the number of troops.

His comments at a news conference at NATO headquarters in Brussels reflected one more change in what has been a rapidly shifting US stance on American forces in Syria. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that You will send angels into Eastern Syria to pave the way for American troops to keep access of oil fields that are controlled by US and allied Syrian Kurds. Father, strengthen all U.S. forces in Syria. Defeat to the maximum extent all Islamic State militants from gaining access to U.S./Kurds' oil fields. God, is almighty over the U.S. forces. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before Him." (Psalm 68:1)

8. U.S. senators want quick visa for Kurdish general, amid Syria crisis - Jerusalem Post

Republican and Democratic U.S. senators asked the State Department on Wednesday to quickly provide a visa so that the commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces could visit the United states to discuss the situation in the country.

Republican Senators Lindsey Graham and Marsha Blackburn and Democrats Chris Van Hollen, Jeanne Shaheen and Richard Blumenthal wrote to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asking him to expedite a visa for the commander, General Mazloum Kobani.

"To say we are extremely concerned with the situation unfolding in northern Syria is an understatement," they said in their letter, saying it would benefit both Congress and President Donald Trump's administration to hear from Kobani.

Their request came hours after Trump announced that a ceasefire in northern Syria was now permanent and he lifted sanctions on Turkey as a result, rejecting criticism of his decision to pull out U.S. troops that allowed Kurdish allies to come under attack from Turkey. (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we pray the perfect will of heaven be accomplished regarding the Kurdish general obtaining a visa to visit the United States. God's purposes be done. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for you shall judge the people righteously; and govern the nations upon earth." (Psalm 67:4)

9. Supreme Court rejects case of Christian teen forced to write Islamic conversion prayer - Fox News

One of the religious liberty cases the Supreme Court Justices won't be hearing this term is the issue of Maryland High School student Caleigh Wood, who refused to take part in a school assignment to write the Islamic conversion prayer that states ". . . there is no god but Allah," because she believed it directly contradicted her Christian faith.

The High Court denied a petition filed on behalf of the 11th grader, angering one conservative commentator who saw it as caving in to the indoctrination in schools and on college campuses.

"This is not just a violation of the First Amendment but an ongoing, albeit subtle, diffusion of Islam in our Western society," the Rev. Mario Alex Protello wrote. Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel of Thomas More Law Center, which filed the petition on Wood's behalf said, "The schools are promoting Islam over Christianity or any other religion, and you have a double standard, which we think is a violation of the establishment clause."

Thompson also said in the firm's press release, "Under the pretext of teaching history or social studies, public schools across America are promoting the religion of Islam in ways that would never be tolerated for Christianity or any other religion." (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that You will surround the courts, and the judges and those in high places with Your Truth, which is God's Word, and strongly stand against anti-God religions. Lift the curse of forsaking God off all schools nationwide. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and Man, the man Christ Jesus." (I Timothy 2:5)

10. Judge: Dad DOES have right in decision about son's transgender journey - WND

A Texas judge ruled Thursday in favor of a father seeking to restore joint custody of his son to prevent his ex-wife from going ahead with treatment to "transition" the 7-year-old boy to a girl. The ruling came in a high-profile case in which a jury effectively granted Jeffrey Younger's ex-wife, Anne Georgulas, the right to make medical decisions for James.

Georgulas wants to used puberty blocks to "transition" James into a girl called "Luna."

LifeSiteNews reported Judge Kim Cooks ruled the parents will have "joint conservatorship," meaning they will jointly make medical decisions for their son. Cooks also put a media gag order on both parents and decided the father is not required to pay attorney fees. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Wednesday the Texas Attorney General's Office and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services were reviewing the case.

A video posted on Twitter shows the boy, at age 3, confirming to his father that his mother calls him a girl, puts dresses on him and paints his fingernails (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray and trust You to tie the powers of child abuse into a knot that will prevent this mother from playing God in attempting to change the sex from male to female of this innocent 7-year-old boy. Remove the mother's parental rights that will restrict her from playing God in changing this boy's sex. Strengthen this dad to be a strong shield of protection for his young son. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "There is a way that seems right unto a man or woman but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 16:25)

11. George Soros: Warren 'most qualified to be president' - WND

The most prominent funder of left-wing political activism in the United States, billionaire George Soros, believes Elizabeth Warren is "most qualified" among the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. "She has emerged as the clear-cut person to beat," he told the New York Times in an interview published Friday. "I don't take a public stance, but I do believe that she is the most qualified to be president."

Soros said, however, he's not endorsing any candidate. "I don't express my views generally because I have to live with whoever the electorate chooses," said Soros, 89, the Hungarian-born founder of the Open Society Foundations.

Soros, in the New York Times interview, said President Trump "is still doing a tremendous amount of damage." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray You will take the 2020 presidential election out of the hands of the anti-God groups and place it in the hands of God-fearing groups, who will with everlasting kindness have mercy on America for the next four years. Break the powers of darkness off the entire United States by the mighty righteousness of God. Put Your strong hand upon President Trump and bring him through to victory. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance." (Psalm 33:11-12)

Millennials want to rewrite First Amendment

The First Amendment is outdated and should be re-written, according to a 51% majority of Americans responding to a Campaign for Free Speech (CFS) poll. At the same time 80% of the respondents didn't actually know what speech is protected under the First Amendment. CFS says respondents believed the following statement is true: "The First Amendment allows anyone to say their opinion no matter what, and they are protected by law from any consequences of saying those thoughts or opinions." CFS reports, "It's actually not true. The First Amendment prevents the government from punishing you for your speech (with exceptions such as yelling "fire" in a crowded area to induce panic)."

Some 51% of Americans, including 57% of Millennials surveyed agreed with the following statement: 'The First Amendment goes too far in allowing hate speech in modern America and should be updated to reflect the cultural norms of today.' Trouble is, there is no real definition of hate speech because it is subjective. We have seen in today's American society that hate speech for one is truth for another. For example, it is just fine to label in the most inflammatory terms someone a bigot, racist, homophobe, Islamophobe, misogynist, xenophobe or some other popular slur if they disagree with a political position, but if a preacher from the pulpit quotes the Bible about homosexuality, now that is hate speech.

Could it be that Americans have become so saturated with the visceral speech in society that they are weary of free speech? To me, freedom of speech comes with responsibility. Yes, you have the right to say what you want, and the government cannot suppress it. You also have the right to say hateful or extreme words, phrases, and sentences, but those who heard you also have the right to mete out the consequences-you could lose your job, your friends, or people could just shun you. There are consequences to what you say. As a matter of law, the government cannot censure your free speech, but the rest of society doesn't have to put up with it. My mother used to say, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. So you have the right to speak your mind, but should you?

The Bible has a lot to say about our speech. Christ said in Matthew 5:37, "But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." Christ gave us good reasons to take his advice in Matthew 15:19 when he said, "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies." Colossians 4:6 says, "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." James states that the tongue, "is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison." The 9th Commandment says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." In Hebrew, it's called "Lashon hara," or evil tongue. Instead of rewriting the First Amendment, it is wiser to take responsibility and hold accountability for what we say to one another.

In Support of SR 378

A Senate Resolution Denouncing the Impeachment Inquiry into President Trump

On Thursday, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina introduced a resolution denouncing the impeachment inquiry into President Trump. He called the current impeachment inquiry "very dangerous to the country," and I wholeheartedly agree with him.

We are asking you to join us in support of Sen. Lindsey Graham's resolution by doing three things:

- First, get on all your social media platforms and post your support of the resolution and for your support of due process for President Trump.

- Second, put a call into your Senators and Representatives letting them know you expect them to honor the rule of law, to put the impeachment proceedings to a vote and for your support of SR 378.

- Third, pray that what is being done in secret will be exposed in the light.

Senate Resolution 378 states:

"A resolution expressing the sense of the Senate that the House of Representatives should, with long-standing practice and precedent, prior to proceeding any further with its impeachment investigation into President Donald J. Trump, vote to open a formal impeachment inquiry and provide President Trump with fundamental constitutional protections."

Republicans in the Senate are right to pushback on the behind-closed-doors actions of House Democrats. The illegitimate impeachment proceedings lack due process for the President and transparency, as Republicans - and the country, have been shut out of the hearings.

We are called to be defenders of truth. Let us stand up for what is right and honorable. You have a voice and it is powerful- but it must be heard. Thank you for taking five minutes out of your busy schedule to help protect our liberty and freedoms.

Many Blessings,

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (on behalf of Pastor Paula White-Cain)

Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On!

Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On!

Dear Christian Warriors:

Who knew Jerry Lee Lewis in the 1957 rock and roll classic "Whole Lot of Shaking Going On" was a prophet!

Come along my baby whole lotta shaking going on Yes I said come along my baby baby you can't go wrong We ain't faking whole lotta shaking going on!
However, we're not to be shaken as though the day of Christ had come (2 Thessalonians 2:2). But, in the shaking that is taking place, we are to be witnesses of His Holy Spirit shining with His Light to REPENT as He shakes all the nations. (Haggai 2:7). Many will seek the Peace of Christ and His Joy in our renewed character as the times get darker and darker.
For thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory, says the LORD of hosts. ~ Haggai 2:6-7

D.C. Poised to Open Floodgate of Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking

Many of you have most likely received information regarding the legislative battle that is taking place in Washington D.C. Attached is an update from the National Center on Sexual Exploitation entitled "D.C. Poised to Open Floodgate of Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking." You may have heard that a hearing was scheduled. The attachment was written after the hearing. An impressive line-up of anti-trafficking groups and advocates testified but the supporters did not seem interested in hearing from them. The most important part of this alert follows:

> > > In sum, this bill opens the floodgates to sexual exploitation and sex trafficking in the nation's capital and, if passed, will morph Washington D.C. into a global sexual tourist paradise. Moreover, the global sexual exploitation movement will use passage of the bill in D.C. to galvanize similar efforts in other parts of the country.
While the situation is critical and bleak, it is not hopeless. Here are some ways you can help:
- If you are a DC resident, contact your D.C. City Councilmember and ask them to oppose this bill (D.C. Bill 23-0318 a.k.a The Community Safety and Health Amendment Act of 2019).

- If you have friends in family in D.C., call them, talk to them, and ask them to oppose this bill (D.C. Bill 23-0318 a.k.a The Community Safety and Health Amendment Act of 2019).

- Call your member of Congress. Tell them you don't want the nation's capital turned into a global sex tourist destination.

- If you have expertise in child development, child protection, sexual assault prevention, anti-trafficking, or related fields, submit written testimony to the D.C. City Council.
The deadline to submit testimony is November 1.

- If you are active on social media, please use Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to speak out and raise the alarm. Use the hashtags #DCDecrim, #Stop318DC, and #ProtectSurvivorsNOTBuyers when you do.

While this may seem only like a DC issue it is just the beginning and will be seen elsewhere in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Pray for California!

Pray for the state of California and the fires that are consuming much of the land and causing millions to be without power there! With over 200,000 evacuations already having taken place, people are anxious and afraid, and are looking for shelter and fresh air!

- We pray: Lord, have mercy on the people of California. Protect their lives, their families and their property. Cause the winds to die down and the fires to be extinguished. Let the people of God awaken to the reality of the evil governing authorities there and rise up to remove them in the coming elections! Lord, have mercy on this, the Golden State! AMEN!

Classic Hymns

NEARER, MY GOD, TO THEE

"He saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to Heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it." (Genesis 28:11-12)

Lyrics

1 Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

2 Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I'd be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

3 There let the way appear, steps unto heaven;
all that thou sendest me, in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

4 Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise,
out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
so by my woes to be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

5 Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Signs and Wonders

Signs in the Heavens:

A Warning to Israel and the Nations During the Feast of Tabernacles

On the second evening of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles), October 15, 2019, thunder, lightning, and fierce winds from wide spread storms struck Israel including the city of Jerusalem, illuminating the Jerusalem skyline.

Lightning struck the minaret tower of the Al-Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount and pictures of this strike filled the news here in Israel.

The storm with its extremely strong winds, rain, and lightning destroyed thousands of Sukkah's (Booths) erected here in Israel by the Jewish people.

The Good News Corner

Runner Who Added 'Jesus Saves' to His Bib Collapses and is Saved by Person behind Him Named 'Jesus':

'God's Plans Are Way Greater'

"One day I got a thought-I thought it was from God and that it should be a profession of faith-and changed it to 'Jesus Saves,' so that another runner or someone in the audience would see it . . . that Jesus saves us for eternity. When I originally put 'Jesus Saves,' I was hoping that it would help people at the race and in Minneapolis. I had no idea how far it would go."

The special message on his bib turned out to be an accurate prophecy as he was rescued by Jesus Bueno.

The registered nurse was fortunately running right behind Moon - and promptly saved his life.

Bueno and other qualified medics performed chest compressions and helped Moon with his breathing until an ambulance arrived. (Read more)

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
