The Daily Brief

1a. North Korea warns military cleared to wage nuclear attack against US - Fox News

South Korea says North Korea has moved a missile with "considerable range" to its east coast after an unnamed spokesman for the North Korean army warned the U.S. Wednesday that its military has been cleared to wage an attack using "smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear" weapons. (Read more)

1b. North Korea moved missile to east coast - AP

North Korea has moved a missile with "considerable range" to its east coast, South Korea's defense minister said Thursday, but he added that there are no signs that Pyongyang is preparing for a full-scale conflict. The report came hours after North Korea's military warned that it has been authorized to attack the U.S. using "smaller, lighter and diversified" nuclear weapons. (Read more)

- Father, we bind this murderous plot, and pray that it falls to the ground. We ask Your restraining Hand against all actions of our enemies, and cover the United States and Western allies with the Blood of Jesus. We ask that Your Holy Spirit move to touch the hearts of all men, bringing them into a saving knowledge of Your Son.

- "That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow . . . and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father." (Philippians 2:10,11)

2. Military buildup in China near North Korean border - Washington Free Beacon

China continued moving tanks and armored vehicles and flying flights near North Korea this week as part of a military buildup in the northeastern part of the country that U.S. officials say is related to the crisis with North Korea. (Read more)

- Lord, once again we come to You with the "wars and rumors of wars" out of Matthew 24. We ask for Your mercy and grace in this situation, and pray that no plans of satan be fulfilled.

- ". . . now will I arise, says the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffs up at him." (Psalm 12:5b)

3. Syrian, Iraqi jihadi groups said to be cooperating - Times of Israel

Regional intelligence officials saw the March 4 ambush, which left 48 dead, as evidence of a growing, cross-border alliance between two powerful Islamic extremist groups -- al-Qaeda in Iraq and Jabhat al-Nusra or Nusra Front in Syria. Nusra Front is the most effective rebel faction fighting President Bashar Assad's regime, and the US designates both Sunni jihadi groups as terrorist organizations.
- Lord we ask that any and all covenants between our enemies be dispersed. We pray that You will create chaos, dissatisfaction, and confusion in all that they may plan.

- ". . . scatter the people that delight in war. . ." (Psalm 68:30c)

4. Rebels capture military base in southern Syria - AP

Syrian rebels captured a military base in the country's south on Wednesday after days of heavy fighting, activists said, in the latest advance by opposition fighters near the strategic border area with Jordan.

- Father we pray that You remove Mr. Assad from power, but that whoever replaces him will be of Your choosing and not someone even worse.

- "He rules by His power forever; His eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves." (Psalm 67:7)

5. Bank website attacks reach new high: 249 hours offline in past six weeks - NBC News

Major U.S. bank websites have been offline a total of 249 hours in the past six weeks, perhaps the clearest indication yet that American companies are prime targets in an unrelenting, global cyber conflict. The heavier-than-usual outages are the result of a remarkable, sustained attack that began seven months ago and repeatedly knocks banks offline for hours at a time, frustrating consumers and bank security professionals alike.

- Father, we ask that You place a hedge of protection around all American communications, particularly the banks. We bind the cyber attacks that have caused problems, and pray that if there be any hidden agendas for these attacks that our security forces are not aware of, You would reveal them.

- "Yea, the darkness cannot hide from You, but the night shines as the day . . ." (Psalm 139:12)

6. Libor claims against Bank of America, other banks dismissed
- The Charlotte Observer

A federal judge has dismissed nearly all claims against Bank of America and other major banks accused of rigging the interest rate commonly referred to as Libor.

U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald, of the Southern District of New York, issued the ruling Friday afternoon. Buchwald dismissed all of the antitrust and racketeering claims made against the banks. The ruling affects all litigation involving Libor, including lawsuits that have been filed by Freddie Mac and municipalities, like the city of Baltimore. The antitrust and racketeering claims were dismissed with prejudice, meaning the plaintiffs can't appeal. (Read more)

- Father we pray that Your justice will come to these banks for their unscrupulous ways.

- "Behold they are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches . . . surely You have set them in slippery places: You have cast them down to destruction." (Psalm 73:17,18)

7. Obama seeks to shift conservative tilt of key court - Washington Post

President Obama has pressed senators from both parties in recent weeks to confirm a new federal judge for one of the country's most powerful courts, using an aggressive strategy to campaign for a judicial nominee whom White House officials consider a potentially crucial figure in boosting the president's second-term agenda.

The effort reflects a new White House effort to tilt in its favor the conservative-dominated U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, which is one notch below the Supreme Court and considers many challenges to executive actions.

The push to win approval for Sri Srinivasan, the principal deputy solicitor general, has taken on greater urgency because Obama was forced late last month to withdraw his initial nominee to fill one of the court's vacancies, New York City prosecutor Caitlin Halligan, in the face of a Republican filibuster. (Read more)

- Lord, we say NO to this administration's plan to shift the political views of all courts in America. We stand guard at the gates of our nation and pray to You for help. We repent of every sin that has run rampant in America, and ask Your forgiveness and mercy. In Jesus' Name, amen.

- "Let not the water flood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me." (Psalm 69:15)

The Middle East in Focus

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"Be still, and know that I am God! I will be praised among the nations. I will be praised in the land. YHWH of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah." (Psalm 46: 10,11)

1. Palestinian killed by IDF fire after checkpoint attacked - Times of Israel

A Palestinian teen was killed by IDF fire Wednesday night after being part of a group of Palestinians throwing firebombs at an Israeli position in the northern West Bank Wednesday night.

2. Israel's priority is to prevent a nuclear Iran - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu expressed opposition Wednesday to continued world power talks with Iran as it plows forward with its nuclear program, even as the P5+1 is set to hold another round of talks with Iran on Friday in Kazakhstan.

3. Temple Groups Practice Passover Sacrifice - Israel National News

Jewish groups held a mock Passover sacrifice on Thursday opposite the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The ritual slaughter was not merely a historic reenactment, but, they say, practice in advance of the reconstruction of the Temple. The ritual was emotionally moving, Rabbi Glick reported. "The symbolism of standing opposite the Temple Mount and preparing for the real Passover sacrifice - it was without doubt a special moment," he said.

The Persecuted Church

Today's Focus: The Persecuted Church

"For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."
( 2 Corinthians 5:1) )

1. Middle East Christians need our protection - USA Today

"Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world." So asserted German Chancellor Angela Merkel late last year, causing a stir. Merkel echoed a concern expressed by then-French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who warned in a 2011 speech that Christians face a "particularly wicked program of cleansing in the Middle East, religious cleansing."

2. Radical Islamists Gaining Strength in Bangladesh - ANS

If Bangladesh does not change its present trajectory, it will be sucked into a vortex of bloody civil and sectarian conflict. In 1971 as many as three million were killed when Bangladesh fought for independence from Pakistan. Bangladeshi Islamist groups such as the Jama'at-e-Islami aided and abetted the Pakistan military in war crimes. Though the war ended, the ideological struggle continued.

Since independence, political power has oscillated between the pro-Pakistan, pro-Islamist Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the quasi-secular Awami League.

The elections in December 2008 saw the Awami League restored to power as part of a 14-party Grand Alliance. Its election platform included the promise to set up a court to try those accused of committing war crimes during the 1971 War of Independence. Accordingly the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) was established in 2010. However, justice seems to be less of a concern than the December 2013 elections, especially in these days of Islamic resurgence and Sunni ascendancy. On 5 February pro-secularists started protesting what they claimed was judicial slowness and leniency. Led by young bloggers and student activists, the 'Shahbag' protesters demanded that the accused be convicted and executed; and that Jama'at-e-Islami (JI) be banned.

Now the Islamists are playing the religion card, labelling the 'Shahbag' protesters 'anti-Islamic'. Bloggers, journalists and passers-by have been beaten and hacked to death. An estimated 100 people have been killed in clashes (including with police) since early February as protests evolve into riots that are increasingly out of control. On Sunday 31 March shots were fired at the political office of BNP leader Khaleda Zia who, however, was not hurt. International war crimes barrister Toby Cadman warns: 'Failure to find a resolution could see the country descend into civil war.'

3. Military Remains Strong Presence in Burma, Persecution Continues - Mission Network News

There's a dichotomy in government actions in Burma.

On one hand, "They're proceeding toward democracy, and so that is encouraging," says Dyann Romeijn of Vision Beyond Borders.

But on the other, "They're actually making more military outposts deeper into the Karen areas, the Karenni, and the Kachin."

Burma's military government has a long history of persecuting these people groups, a large portion of which follow Christ.

"There's been an outright genocide - They're trying to wipe out these people," says Romeijn. "You see an influx of more refugees and more people fleeing - because they're scared of the military."

Hacker Alert for Israel

Anonymous plans '#OpIsrael' to 'erase Israel from Internet'

A HUGE cyber-terror attack is planned to hit Israel this Sunday, April 7, at the hands of a group called Hackers Anonymous; working from all across the globe.

These Hacktivists have promised to take Israel completely off the Internet. A chief hacker named Anon Ghost, has decreed this takedown of Israel in the assault operation entitled #Opisrael. Why would they do such a thing to Israel? The reasons given are that they are angry with Israel's constant human rights violations of the Palestinians . . . and also that this group wants to stand in acknowledgement of and in solidarity with the new UN General Assembly decreed Palestinian State. The UN's foolishness just keeps on giving excuses and open doors to Israel's enemies! This Hacker's Anonymous group would do well to protest the human rights violation of the Moslem Brotherhood in Egypt, and in other Islamic governments throughout the world. These hacktivists are deceived about the claims of Israel violations, and are totally ignoring the real violations.

--Pray that Anon Ghost will have a serious visitation by the Holy Ghost, to turn him around. Pray that the Lord will send a powerful revelation to the Hackers Anonymous operatives and members.
--Pray that the Lord would expose where these hacktivists are operating, and also reveal their true identity. Arrest them!
--Pray that everything these cyber-terrorists try to do against Israel will UTTERLY FAIL; bringing great humiliation upon their arrogant, boastful, threats.
--Pray that YHVH will keep Israel up and running in every way, this Sunday, and in all the days ahead.
--Pray that YHVH will give the Israeli cyber-protection forces supernatural skill and wisdom to fend off all incoming threats.
--Pray to specifically protect the Israeli military computers from being hacked and having ANY information stolen or added. Maintain Israel's security integrity.
--Pray that whatever the hacktivists send against Israel will boomerang back into their own computers.
--Pray that the Lord would dry up the finances and bankrupt all those, who are financially supporting this hacking program.

A Word Regarding Korea

A Word Regarding Korea

Submitted by Pastor Regina Brent
Extended Hands of Jesus Ministry
Houston, Texas

I felt it important to share what the Lord said about North Korea this morning
on April 4, 2013.

"Do not fear the sound of the young lion that roars from the north. Daniel prayed and was thrown into the lion's den but I shut the mouths of the lions and Daniel was saved. The nations rage but My wrath is the one to be feared says God. Daniel did not cease from praying; so stir your hearts to seek heaven on your behalf and on behalf of the nations."

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread? When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, my adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell. Though a host encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war arise against me, in spite of this I shall be confident." [Psalm 27:1-3].

Gun Control (Daily Jot)

Who is disconnected from who?

One of the leading proponents of disarming American citizens is California Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein, a leftist extremist who fancies herself as a populist. At a hometown meeting in San Francisco, Feinstein accused the National Rifle Association of intimidating senators with threats that if they voted for gun control (disarmament), the NRA would spend its war chest to defeat them. Feinstein is the champion of banning "military style" weapons even though they are involved in an extremely small number of deaths in America. CBS News reports that Feinstein says there is a "disconnect" between American support for disarmament and reluctance of Congress to do it. Who is disconnected from who?

Feinstein is an ardent supporter of homosexual marriage, abortion, unlimited government spending, open borders, disarming American citizens, broader government controls, socialized medicine, and higher taxes. CBS reports that she told her constituents that she would continue to press for a ban on military-style weapons, even though they are involved in a small percentage of gun deaths because the damage they can cause to individual bodies are "antithetical to our values." In reality, any person using any weapon from an ink pen to a bazooka can inflict unthinkable damage to a human body. The point here is intent. Since when is self defense "antithetical to our values"?

Americans are free because the Lord blessed us with the wisdom to establish a system that perpetuates freedom and we as a people have had the will to defend it. Feinstein and her ilk wish to take away our ability to defend our freedom and our very lives somehow believing that the federal government can protect our lives from criminals who intend to ravage us, even with weapons that have been legislated illegal. She says that there is overwhelming support for gun control from the American public. How then does she explain FBI statistics that there have been 65.4 million background checks on Americans buying guns since the occupant of the Oval Office was first elected? Who is disconnected?
Extremists like Feinstein lack such character and wisdom that they themselves have become "antithetical to our values." Even deeper is the disconnect between those who vote for them and YHVH God. They are as in Ephesians 4:18, "Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart." But for us, we must strive to "continue in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them, and from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:14-15)."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

About CHPP

ABOUT CAPITOL HILL PRAYER PARTNERS

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven" [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
Friends may participate by receiving our daily prayer alerts. You may contact us at chpp@patriot.net for more information. CHPP is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt ministry. Thank you and God bless you!
