The Daily Brief:

"Praying for All in Authority"

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43:19)

"And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse . . ." (Rev. 19:11)

The Daily Brief

1. At least 12 dead in Islamist terror attack at satirical French publication - Fox News

Three black-clad gunmen shouting "Allahu Akbar!" stormed the Paris offices of a satirical publication known for lampooning Islam Wednesday, killing 12, including its editor, three political cartoonists and a police officer whose cold-blooded murder at close range was captured on a disturbing video.

The masked, Kalashnikov-toting shooters moved with military precision, and then escaped following the 11:30 a.m. attack at Charlie Hebdo, the publication known for challenging Muslim terrorists with a 2011 caricature of Prophet Muhammed on its cover and which recently tweeted a cartoon of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and were being sought.

"We've avenged the honor of the prophet!" the killers shouted, according to witnesses who spoke to Sky News. Other witnesses said the men shouted "Allahu Akbar," Arabic for "God is great." The gunmen spoke French without any accent, according to Le Monde.

French President Francois Hollande branded the attack an act of terrorism and claimed that several other potential terror attacks had been thwarted "in recent weeks." Hollande added that the publication had been threatened in the past and was already under police protection and surveillance. "This is a terrorist attack, there is no doubt about it," Hollande told reporters. (Read more)

- Lord God, we have no words . . . we have no words . . . Such rampant evil is hard for us to comprehend, much less know how to respond . . . Father God, we cry out for mercy for the people of France today. We ask that You comfort hearts, and ease the pain and the trauma of this hour. We ask that these criminals, still running loose, be quickly found. Help us, O Lord, we pray. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer." (Psalm 4:1)

2. 'Terrorist commandos': Paris gunmen likely highly trained, say experts - Fox News

The Islamist gunmen who mounted Wednesday's terrorist attack at a Paris satirical magazine's office moved with the skill and precision of highly-trained commandos, military experts told FoxNews.com. Masked and garbed in black, the AK-47 wielding assassins appeared to be executing a well-coordinated plan in the late-morning raid, methodically seeking out and executing those targeted for death, and making a clean getaway -- all in the span of a few minutes. Moments after the 11:30 a.m. attack, the three assassins were gone. A manhunt continued into the evening in a shaken and locked-down Paris, but their were no reports of suspects or even leads. (Read more)

- Lord God, we bring the Word of God into this news, and we call forth Your Word that does not return void. We decree that it is written in Mark 4:22 that: ". . . nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light." We thank You for sending forth Your angelic host to help the French police find these three assassins, as well as all others that are working with them. Thank You, Lord, that You are a God who answers prayer. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways." (Job 22:28)

3. Obama condemns 'cowardly, evil' Paris attack, offers US help to pursue terrorists - Fox News

President Obama condemned the "cowardly, evil" attack Wednesday on a satirical Paris publication that left at least 12 people dead, offering U.S. support to help bring the terrorists to justice.

"This was an attack on journalists, it's an attack on our free press," Obama said, speaking in the Oval Office before meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry and Vice President Joe Biden. He said "the values that we share with the French people" cannot be silenced. (Read more)

- Lord God, we are grateful to know that all applicable resources in our nation will be made available to the nation of France, as it hunts down and brings these terrorists to justice. Thank You that we can stand alongside this most valuable ally in its time of need, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever." (Psalm 107:1)

4. Pentagon: ISIS Mounts 'Regular' Attacks Against Iraqi Airbase Where US Troops are Based - CNSNews.com

American troops training Iraqi recruits at a key airbase in Anbar province face "regular" but "completely ineffective" gunfire from Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters, according to the Pentagon. They don't shoot back, spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren said Monday.

Since last month some 320 U.S. troops have been training and advising Iraqi soldiers at the Ein al-Asad airbase about 100 miles north-west of Baghdad. Mostly U.S. Marines, they include advisors, support personnel and a security contingent. Read more

- Lord, we thank You that You watch over our troops and keep them safe. We would ask that You would give wisdom to the spokesman and that he would not comment about the ineffectiveness of ISIS. He does not need to give ISIS fodder to attack more effectively. Lord, we humbly ask that You continue to be a shield about our troops. In His Name, we pray, Amen.

-Only do not rebel against the Lord; and do not fear the people of the land, for they will be our prey. Their protection has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them. (Numbers 14:9)

5. Egypt's al-Sisi urges Muslim 'religious revolution' to combat Islamist ideology - Christian Today

Egypt's President Abdel Fata al-Sisi has urged scholars and teachers at Al Azhar University in Cairo to start a 'religious revolution' aimed at combating the ideology that supports Islamic terrorism around the world. The president, a former general who was elected last June following an army coup against the Muslim Brotherhood government of Mohammed Morsi in 2013, is widely popular in Egypt despite austerity measures aimed at rescuing Egypt's ailing economy. He enjoys support from the country's Christians because of the improved security situation.

According to a translation received by the Washington Post, al-Sisi told an audience at the university: 'It's inconceivable that the thinking that we hold most sacred should cause the entire umma [Islamic world] to be a source of anxiety, danger, killing and destruction for the rest of the world. Impossible!' Violent Islamist ideology, he said, was 'antagonizing the whole world'. He added: 'Is it possible that 1.6 billion people [Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the world's inhabitants - that is 7 billion - so that they themselves may live? Impossible! 'I am saying these words here at Al Azhar, before this assembly of scholars and ulema - Allah Almighty be witness to your truth on Judgment Day concerning that which I'm talking about now.

- Thank You Lord, that Egypt's President Abdel Fata al-Sisi is urging scholars and teachers at Al Azhar University to combat this fanatical Islamic ideology and that he is doing it at the source. Thank You that so many others, who can make a difference, are also standing up and saying that this ideology is absurd. This is a beginning. But they all need to renounce Allah and bow their knee to You, the one and only wise God. Lord God, only You are in control of all the things that are going on the earth because we ask You to control it. In His Name, we pray. Amen

- to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen. (Romans 16:27)

6. House of Representatives Pledges Its Allegiance to One Nation Under God - CNSNews.com

As they remained standing following the prayer, members placed their right hands over their hearts and recited: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

- Hallelujah Lord! The House of Representatives has declared to the universe that we are One Nation Under God. Let there be no doubt. The United States of America is One Nation Under God. The Government has declared it, and it is so. In His Name, we praise, Amen.

-"I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance. (Isaiah 45:23)

7. Boehner takes revenge - Huffington Post

John Boehner dished out a little payback today, kicking two House Republicans off the influential Rules Committee and stopping a third from sponsoring a bill after they voted against his re-election for speaker. The returning Republican members of the rules panel were announced after the election for the chamber's top post, in which 24 of Boehner's fellow party members didn't vote for him.

Taking Republicans off committees and denying them the spotlight of sponsoring bills are two of the few sticks Boehner, 65, of Ohio, has to keep his troops in line. He has used the committee maneuver before and may use it again when Republicans fill out the rest of the committee rosters in coming days.

- Lord, You have shown us that there are consequences to our choices. Yet, we pray for unity and not discord among the members of the House of Representatives. May these men and women who represent the citizens of this country have our best interests before them. We pray that they lay down their politics and become statesmen worthy of being our Representatives. In His Name, we pray. Amen

- For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality. (Colossians 3:25)

8. Twin tremors jolt North Texas - WFAA; Dallas, Texas

DALLAS - A second, stronger earthquake was felt in North Texas on Tuesday evening, less than four hours after the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed there was a 3.5-magnitude earthquake in Irving. "That one seemed MUCH stronger than the one this afternoon!" wrote Rebecca Barbee in Lakewood on the WFAA Facebook page. She was right. The USGS gave the Tuesday evening quake a preliminary magnitude of 3.6. It struck at 6:52 p.m. and the epicenter was less than a half-mile east of the earlier event.

The 3:10 p.m. tremor originated at a depth of 3.2 miles and was centered near the intersection of Highways 183 and 114 near the old Texas Stadium site. News 8 received reports from viewers that it was felt as far away as Euless and Wylie. The afternoon jolt was the 17th earthquake to be recorded in Irving since November 1, 2014, and it was also the strongest.

UPDATE: As of this morning, nine tremors have been reported in all.

- Lord, You are Lord of all! If You are trying to get the folks in North Texas' attention, I think You have! May the quakes remind them that only You are in control of all things! It is a sign of the times. In His Name, we pray. Amen

- For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. (Matthew 24:7)

1. School canceled in Jerusalem as blizzard hits country - Times of Israel

The Jerusalem municipality canceled school in the capital on Wednesday as the country geared up for a predicted major winter storm.

Heavy rains and high winds swept through the country Tuesday night as the blizzard descended upon the country. Hail and light snow were reported in the north, with the snow expected to intensify and spread to central Israel throughout Wednesday. (Read more)

2. UN chief says Palestine will join ICC on April 1 - Times of Israel

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday the state of Palestine will join the International Criminal Court on April 1, a high-stakes move that will enable the Palestinians to pursue war-crimes charges against Israel.

The Palestinians submitted the documents ratifying the Rome Statute that established the court last Friday, the last formal step to becoming a member of the world's permanent war crimes tribunal. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we do not understand how the UN can allow this to happen. Palestine is the one who should be charged with war crimes, not Israel. We ask You to open the eyes of the nations, Father. Have mercy on Israel and do not let the enemy succeed in bringing harm. Protect Israel, Father, protect the apple of Your eye. We ask in the name of Yeshuah, amen.

3.Video: Syrian army forms suicide bomber platoon -Times of Israel

Syrian forces loyal to President Bashar Assad have announced the establishment of a suicide bomber platoon, according to a video released on the internet on December 30 and made available Tuesday by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

In the video, masked men in camoflage uniforms said to belong to the Syrian army's Mountain Battalion wear explosive belts as they deliver their message.

"We, the commandos of the Mountain Battalion, declare, from the peak of Mount Nabi Yunis, the establishment of a martyrdom-seeking platoon," a representative says. "This is our response to all the foreigners who have distorted the religion of Islam, and have defiled the soil of our country. (Read more)

4. Son of former Hamas military chief arrested in Fatah sweep -Times of Israel

The Palestinian Authority has arrested dozens of Hamas members in the West Bank in the past two weeks, including the son of a top bombmaker killed by Israel, Palestinian sources said Tuesday.

The sweeps are part of an ongoing crackdown on the group and other Islamists since the end of Israel's war with Hamas-led fighters over the summer, while Hamas forces have made arrest raids on Fatah members in the Strip, in a sign of faltering unification efforts despite a pact signed between the rival groups last year. 5. France Warns PA: Don't Escalate the Crisis - Israel National News

France warned the Palestinian Authority (PA) on Tuesday against escalating a diplomatic battle with Israel after PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said he would resubmit to the UN Security Council a resolution calling for the creation of a Palestinian state, Reuters reports.

Abbas said on Sunday he hoped to resubmit the resolution, which was defeated last week at the Security Council, "perhaps after a week", hoping the new pro-PA members of the Council would help it pass. France, one of the Council's five permanent members, backed the resolution despite some reservations, but on Tuesday signaled concern that Abbas' diplomatic offensive -- he has also signed up to 20 international conventions including the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court -- could harm chances for peace by antagonizing Israel. 6. Message to Israelis: Your cash is no good here -Times of Israel

The government has issued its final recommendations on limiting the use of cash in business transactions. As part of Israel's efforts to fight money laundering, said the Finance Ministry's State Revenue Division, cash transactions in business deals will be restricted to a maximum of NIS 10,000 (about $2,550).

That recommendation, and more, was part of a legislative memorandum - generally the first draft of a law slated to be proposed to the Knesset - issued Sunday by the State Revenue Division. The memorandum adopts many of the recommendations of a government committee headed by Harel Locker, director of the Prime Minister's Office, which has been working for the past several years to develop the "cashless society" law. The debate about Israel and America

There seems to be an ongoing debate among Christians in America as to whether America is the new Israel or new Jerusalem and whether the blessings and cursing in the Bible associated with Israel are also for America. Books written as fiction, but quote the Bible are adding to the discussion. Over the years, if you are involved in Christianity long enough, you will hear a lot of things taught as fact, but they are often only the opinion of the teacher. Moreover, there are, as Jesus says in Matthew 24:11, "Many false prophets (meaning in Greek/Strong's Concordance: one who in God's name teaches what is false) who shall rise, and shall deceive many." So how do we discern? How do we know what to believe?

One must become a student of the Bible and understand it in its context. To answer the question of whether the blessings and cursing written in the Holy Scriptures regarding the behavior of God's chosen people also apply to America, it is all about context. Many teachers say that those things spoken of about Israel are only for Israel. It occurs to me that if that were the case, then Jesus the Messiah, would have been only for Israel. Jesus was a Jew. He fulfilled prophecy given to God's prophets, who were certainly not Americans nor "Christians." This logic, however, we know is flawed because Christ came to give us all life everlasting, the gift of salvation. We also know that the Gentile is grafted in with the Jew.

The Bible is the one and only true word of God. God may be speaking to Israel, or giving specific instruction to specific people, but the Bible serves as a guidebook for us all. Deuteronomy 28, for example, is the blessing and cursing specifically directed at Israel for either obeying or disobeying the Lord. These are consequences, good or bad, for the people of Israel. In their context, however, they are the laws of the Lord God. These laws, these principles, are universal and if your nation or you, yourself, disobey them, there will be natural consequences. They specifically applied to Israel, but they also apply to all of us. Do the 10 Commandments only apply to Israel? Does Jesus' instruction only apply to the disciples he is speaking to?

The more you study the Bible in its context--that is, not cherry picking the verses you like and ignoring the ones you don't like--the more you will find the truth in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." The problem comes in when man uses a little bit of scripture to promote his own belief. This is how doctrines of man are developed and over time are taught as if they are written in the Holy Scriptures. My opinion, Israel is Israel. Jerusalem is Jerusalem. America is neither. But the entirety of the Bible is our most tangible instruction on life, how to live it, the blessings of obedience and consequences of disobedience--for both the nations and the people living in them.

Beware of a new communist "Christianity"

A marriage between a new communist revolution and a radical brand of Christianity combines the traditional communist viewpoints on Biblical truth, which is to be abolished, with a new Biblical narrative that dismisses the Biblical text in deference to what its leaders call existentialist integrity. It is a communist revolution wrapped in the cloak of a new Jesus used to indoctrinate a young generation toward communism. This radical viewpoint questions the motivations of the 10 Commandments, for example, and depicts Jesus as a supporter of slavery, ownership of women, and a hypocrite. It is a humanistic view of the Bible being taught in some of America's most revered seminaries such as Princeton.

Professors of Theology Mark L Taylor of Princeton and Cornell West of Union Theological Seminary are founding members of the Revolutionary Communist Party, led by Bob Avakian. This "party" has organized and fomented much of the Ferguson, Mo., and New York City protests against police brutality. Unlike communist efforts of the past, which attacked all religion, this movement is embracing a new context of the Bible, saying, for example, that the truth of Biblical creation in Genesis is evolution. This movement is calling for the overthrowing of America and blames the ills of society and of the world on the old Christianity, which its new "Manifesto" holds responsible for reversing socialism.

The maifesto reads: "...in the "vacuum" created by the reversal of socialism and accompanying setbacks for communism, and with the continuing, and even heightening, depredations carried out by imperialism-with all the upheaval, chaos, and oppression this means for literally billions of people throughout the world-there has been a significant growth of religious fundamentalism and its organized expression in many parts of the world, including among the desperately oppressed. Imperialist marauders and mass murderers, and fanatical religious fundamentalists-the former more powerful and doing greater harm, and in so doing giving further impetus to the latter, but both representing a dark veil, and very real chains, of enslavement and enforced ignorance, reinforcing each other even when they oppose each other."

In a three-hour presentation at Riverside Church in New York City, Avakian called for the overthrow of the US government, saying that Osama bin Laden and the Islamic State could never imagine the atrocities committed by American government. He pointed out that the current "president," Hillary Clinton, and the Democratic Party were allies in the Revolutionary Communist Party's struggle. The mixing of this radical doctrine with a new Christianity, sometimes referred to as the Black Prophetic Movement among other names, is a horrible deception. Jesus Christ--the real one, not the communist one--said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Deception is in many pulpits, this is one of them.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Special Report: Butchery In Paris

Special Report: Butchery In Paris

by Gary Bauer

Radical Islamists have slaughtered Westerners again, this time in the offices of a satirical magazine in Paris, France. The magazine, called Charlie Hebdo, was attacked by heavily armed, black-hooded men, who reportedly yelled Islamist slogans as they killed 12 people (ten journalists and two police officers) and wounded 17 more.

The brutality of this attack cannot be understated. The jihadists not only called out journalists and cartoonists by name, in a clear attack on the freedom of expression that exists throughout the Western world, but now a disgusting video has emerged of a wounded police officer on the ground with his hands up being shot in the head.

Today's attack in France follows a series of other radical Islamic incidents that took place before Christmas. In December, radical Islamists intentionally drove cars into crowds of shoppers in Dijon and Nantes. Police officers were attacked by a knife-wielding Islamist in Tours. Similar attacks have happened in Jerusalem. And this latest horror in Paris follows similarly inspired incidents in Canada and Australia.

Western cultural and political elites continue to push the myth that attacks like this by radical Islamists have nothing to do with Islam. No doubt before the day is over we will hear high government officials in the Obama Administration and in Europe make exactly that point. Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean (D) said this morning that he refuses to call the attackers Muslims.

The fact is that radical Islamism is growing in the Muslim world. It aims to establish a worldwide caliphate. The attack today will spur its growth among young Muslim men, not suppress it. How obscene that European governments and the Obama Administration continue bashing Israel while refusing to acknowledge the nature of the Islamic movement that wants us all dead.

I mentioned earlier the understandable attempt of a wounded police officer to surrender to these murderers. What is harder to explain is the daily surrender throughout the Western world, including here in the United States.

We vividly experienced this evil on the morning of 9/11. We saw it again in the carnage at Fort Hood and at the Boston Marathon bombing. Sadly, we will surely endure more of the murderous work of this death-worshipping cult in the months and years ahead.

An Alert from the Justice Foundation

Two Critical Pro-Life Cases Will Be Heard Next Week,
on Tuesday, January 13th.

Dear Prayer Warrior:

We just received word from the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals that both the Arkansas and North Dakota cases will be heard on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, before Judges Lavinski R. Smith, Duane Benton, and Bobby E. Shepherd. The Courtroom Deputy will be Lisa Tobias. The oral arguments will be between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. central time with the Arkansas case first, followed by the North Dakota case. The Arkansas/North Dakota cases will be heard at the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse at 111 S. 10th St., St. Louis, MO in the Northeast Courtroom, on the 27th floor. For those who have been praying for the right judges, this is a good panel of judges. They are fair and their record in these kinds of cases is good. They have all three upheld in the past in written public decisions the South Dakota statutes requiring abortionists to tell women abortion is the taking of a human life and abortion increases your risk of suicide and suicidal ideation (thoughts).

The 5th Circuit case will be heard on January 7, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. central time in New Orleans at the John H. Wisdom Federal Courthouse, 500 Camp Street. The names of the judges are Judge Edward C. Prado, Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod and Judge Catharina Haynes.

These are three (under the secular radar) cases currently at the United States (Federal) Court of Appeals level in America that could result in ending the covenant with death, the agreement with the grave, that is constitutionally protected abortion under Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, the two cases that brought abortion on demand to America. See Isaiah 28:14-22.

The Arkansas case bans abortion after 12 weeks, which would currently reduce 20% of abortion. The North Dakota case would ban abortion after six weeks which would currently reduce 90% of abortions. The Texas law is now being attacked on the grounds that while it only requires abortionists to have hospital admitting privileges and perform abortions in ambulatory surgical centers, it "in effect" would "ban" abortions in El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley, thus blocking a major portion of the state from having local access to abortion.
Pray for the attorneys who will be arguing the cases. The Justice Foundation and Operation Outcry ladies plan to be present for prayer during the oral argument along with local intercessors.

"Earth Has Shifted" - Inuit Elders Issue Warning To NASA And The World

The Inuits are indigenous people that inhabit the arctic regions of Canada, the United States and Greenland and throughout history their very lives have been dependent on being able to correctly forecast weather. . . and they are warning NASA and the world that global warming isn't the cause of what we are seeing with extreme weather, earthquakes and other events.

The earth has shifted, tilted or as they put it, "wobbled" to the north and they all agree "Their sky has changed!"

The elders maintain the Sun doesn't rise were it used to, they have longer day light to hunt and the Sun is higher than it used to be and warms up quicker than before. The elders who were interviewed across the north all said the same thing, their sky has changed.

The stars the Sun and the Moon have all changed affecting the temperature, even affecting the way the wind blows, it is becoming increasingly hard to predict the weather, something that is a must on the Arctic.

The elders all agree, they believe the Earth has shifted, wobbled or tilted to the North.

In the first video below I go over an article over at The Big Wobble Almanac and in the videos following that, we see some of the extreme weather events being attributed to this "wobble."
In the article it states that NASA scientists and experts are "worried" by the information the Inuit Elders are providing for them. (Read more)
