The Daily Brief
1. Blizzard roars through US's snow-weary midsection - AP
A second powerful blizzard in a week roared through parts of the nation's midsection on Wednesday, bringing biting winds and dumping a foot of snow on areas still digging out from last week's major storm.
- Lord, we speak peace to these storms. We pray the states that are affected will recover quickly from any damages that have occurred. We pray protection over those who suffer most from the cold such as the elderly and homeless. We pray protection over the power companies that they remain strong in spite of the strain this weather places on their generator stations.
- And behold, there arose a great storm in the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves; but He Himself was asleep. Then He arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and it became perfectly calm. (Matthew 8:24,26)
2. House seen blocking healthcare funds - Reuters
The U.S. House of Representatives is likely to vote to block funding for President Barack Obama's signature healthcare overhaul when it takes up a budget plan next week, House Republican Leader Eric Cantor said on Tuesday.
- Lord, we lift up this healthcare situation to you. We pray the President will humble himself, and You would open his eyes to see the division over this bill. Cause him to have ears to hear Your voice, and ears to hear what the American people want concerning this issue.
- And whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted. (Matthew 23:12)
3. House rejects extension of 'Patriot Act' powers - BBC
The US House of Representatives has blocked a bill to extend some surveillance powers granted by the 2001 Patriot Act after the 9/11 attacks.
- Lord, we pray protection over our privacy as American citizens. While surveillance is necessary for terrorist suspects, we pray the authorities will not overreach their liberties and use this against law-abiding citizens.
- First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2) For kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
4. Egypt: Hizbullah and Iran want to 'ignite the region' - Jerusalem Post
Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah is "walking in the footsteps of his mentor," Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Husam Zaki told the Saudi daily al-Watan on Wednesday.
- Continue in prayer over this volatile region. Without prayer, anything can happen; with prayer, boundaries can and will be set in place so that all that unfolds will be in the perfect timing and in the perfect will of God.
- "Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God." (Romans 3:19)
5. 'Al-Qaida in Iraq calls for holy war against Egypt's gov't' - Jerusalem Post
Al-Qaida in Iraq called on Egyptians to free all those imprisoned by Mubarak's regime and called for holy war against Egyptian government, in a statement released to an Islamist website Tuesday, Reuters reported.
- In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua, we command the spirit of rage that is operating through Al-Qaida to be silent and to stand down. Amen.
- "So the helpless has hope, And unrighteousness must shut its mouth." (Job 5:16)
6. Egypt could put brakes on the global economy - Deutsche Welle
In global economic terms, Egypt is a small player. However, the country holds the keys to a very important transport route -- the Suez Canal. And that has investors worried.
- Ask the Lord to release His angelic host to stand guard over this very strategic waterway. He is able!
- "Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands." (Psalm 103:20)
7. Archaeologists May Have Found Tomb of Prophet Zechariah - AOL News
Archaeologists in Israel believe they may have stumbled upon the tomb of the biblical Prophet Zechariah in a newly discovered church.
- Praise God! His Word is true, and scientific findings will always validate this fact!
- "Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens." (Psalm 119:89)

Teetering between God and destruction
The Western news media and the leadership of the United States is so enamored with the possibility of freedom and democracy in Egypt that some are missing the point of the meaning of freedom to Islamists, which is Sharia Law; others are down right calculating that the move in Egypt to establish the Muslim Brotherhood as a major state player will usher in another strategic block of an Islamic world order. It is up to the citizens of the United States to discern which are misguided utopians and which are treasonous snakes trying to destroy America. Notwithstanding, both are equally dangerous as America's place in the end times is being worked out before our very eyes.
When something is so far from what one believes to be true that it cannot be accepted, that issue is often ignored until one can process it mentally. Think along the lines of Revelation. There are many events in Revelation that would be extremely difficult for the human mind to process if it were actually happening real time. This is the case with America right now. America's leadership is acting every day in such a way that most reasonable citizens cannot believe the actions before them are as real as they appear. For example, no one would ever want to believe that a president would stand in the House of Representatives and welcome homosexuals into the military, but he did.
Another example is that the Administration is openly accepting a role of the terrorist sponsoring organization Muslim Brotherhood as a legitimate player in a replacement government in Egypt. It is also unbelievable that the leadership in America would deliberately spend so much money that it enslaves taxpayers to the government. It is equally unbelievable that the president would openly and purposely not obey a court order to stop implementing the socialist health care law that is ruled unconstitutional. There are many more examples. Unless the people wake up and process these things that they never believed would or could happen, they will continue in a place of inaction until it is too late to recover.
Some say this is God's judgment or in the very least God lifting his hand of protection from the nation for its blatant disregard for His commandments. In Deuteronomy 28, the Lord lists through Moses the blessings of a nation that keeps the Lord's commands and the curses on the nation that does not. A list of the curses is given. Many of these curses have happened or are happening to the United States as we have become a nation dedicated in covenant with God that does not follow God. Interesting that verse 60 says, "Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou was afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee." America is teetering between God and destruction, and Egypt is not afar.

Beware Of The Brotherhood
We have reported in recent days that the Obama Administration is welcoming the Muslim Brotherhood into the negotiations about a future Egyptian government. If our goal is a peaceful Egypt that respects human rights, we won't get that from the Muslim Brotherhood.
Kamal al-Halbavi, a top leader of the Brotherhood, was quoted this week expressing his appreciation for Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei, who supports the Egyptian uprising as an "Islamic awakening, which followed the great Islamic Revolution of the Iranian nation."
And what does al-Halbavi see in Egypt's future? He hopes Egypt will soon have "a good government, like the Iranian government, and a good president like Mr. Ahmadinejad, who is very brave." Is it really in America's interests, or the world's interests, to create another ally of Iran?
Earlier this month, Rashad al-Bayoumi, another Muslim Brotherhood leader, told a Japanese TV network, "After President Mubarak steps down and a provisional government is formed, there is a need to dissolve the peace treaty with Israel." Even so-called "moderates" like Mohamed El-Baradei are threatening Israel in the midst of these protests. El-Baradei echoed al-Bayoumi, saying, "At the moment, they [the Israelis] have a peace treaty with Mubarak, but not one with the Egyptian people."
How would canceling the peace treaty with Israel promote peace? How would threatening Israel accomplish anything positive for the Egyptian people? It wouldn't. But such statements do expose the blatant anti-Semitism simmering in Egypt today, nurtured by the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamic extremists.
Thankfully, some members of Congress are beginning to speak up. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, warned yesterday of the very real danger of "fundamentalist Islamic sects taking over" in Egypt. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) said that when it comes to dealing with the crisis in Egypt, "I think the primary goal should be to stop the spread of radical Islam."
I agree completely. But by trying to make the Muslim Brotherhood part of Egypt's future, the Obama White House is making the spread of radical Islam more likely.

The Enemy in its Own Words
The Muslim Brotherhood: the enemy in its own words
As Egypt lurches towards the end of Hosni Mubarak's regime, one way or another - by "an orderly transition to democratic rule" (as Hillary Clinton delicately puts it), through violent overthrow or simply through the demise of the ailing 82-year-old president - much is unclear. One thing that should not be is that the Muslim Brotherhood is our enemy, and whatever role it plays in Egypt's future will be to our detriment.
Such clarity is readily available since the Brotherhood (MB or in Arabic, Ikhwan) has told us as much. Consider, for example, the mission statement for the MB found in one of its secret documents entitled "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America":
The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions.
