The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all. (Psalm 103:6)
The Daily Brief
1. Defiant Florida church says Koran burning to go ahead - Breitbart
A small Florida church has shrugged off global outrage and vowed to go ahead with a Koran burning ceremony amid growing fears it will ignite a wave of Islamic rage. Condemnation rained down from top US officials, the military, the Vatican and other religious and world leaders, but the church refused to halt plans to torch the Islamic holy book on Saturday's anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
- Pray that God will touch the heart and open the eyes of Pastor Jones and his congregation and that somehow his plan to burn the Qur'ans will be stopped.
- Pray that the Muslim community in our nation and throughout the world will see this as an isolated incident by one pastor and a small group and not see it as the entire Christian community.
- [For his plan] "Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us." (Isaiah 8:10)
- [For Pastor Jones] "Father forgive him, for he knows not what he does."
(Luke 23:34)
2. Interpol, FBI Issue Worldwide Alerts if Koran is Burned - CNN
Interpol on Thursday issued a global alert to its 188 member countries, warning of a "strong likelihood" of violent attacks if plans for the Quran burning proceed. And the FBI warned local law enforcement that the plan, along with other recent controversies involving the American Muslim community, could lead to hate crimes and encourage extremist rhetoric, although a federal law enforcement official said there was no credible information that attacks were planned.
- Pray that this will not "fuel" the plans of terrorists and ask God to protect us from a violent response by the Islamic world.
- Their Redeemer is strong; The LORD of hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their case, That He may give rest to the land, And disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon. (Jeremiah 50:34)
3. Obama, Clinton call on US Jews, Muslims to back talks - Jerusalem Post
Obama indicated he understood recent Palestinian statements threatening to quit the peace process and rejecting compromise as political posturing, according to rabbis on a White House conference call Tuesday. Obama, who spoke with rabbis of various denominations in a call marking Rosh Hashanah, was asked by a participant about comments from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas perceived in Israel as hostile to the negotiating process he launched with The Honorable Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu just last Thursday.
- Father, we trust in Almighty God to back off and put under Your foot all the enemies of Israel who are pushing for a divided Jerusalem and the Land of Israel to be relinquished to the Palentinians to buy peace. Lord, this has never been a successful maneuver and we submit all these talks into the hands of the powerful living God to prevail against any and all of Israel's enemies. In Jesus Name.
- "And I will bless them that bless Israel, and curse him that curses Israel." (Genesis 12:3)
4. Russia, Israel Sign Military Cooperation Agreement - Radio Free Europe
Russia and Israel today signed an agreement on military cooperation. Details of the deal inked by the countries' defense ministers in Moscow were not immediately disclosed. But Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov said Moscow was "studying seriously and attentively" the experiences and practices of Israel's military as it modernizes its army. His Israeli counterpart, Ehud Barak, said Israel was "ready to continue sharing experience with the Russian military on fighting terrorism and ensuring security, including by using air drones."
- Oh God, we pray that Israel will become acutely aware that Russia is their bitter enemy and renounce any contract they have made with Russia. Protect Israel by the blood of Jesus, and by the Word of God, and by the Name of Jesus. In Jesus Name.
- "And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem." (Micah 4:2)
5. Indonesian volcano unleashes violent eruption - AFP
An Indonesian volcano that returned to life after four centuries of inactivity threw an ash cloud thousands of metres into the air Tuesday in its most most violent eruption yet. "Its latest eruption was double the previous outburst and we recorded a tower of ash reaching 5,000 metres," government volcanologist Agus Budianto told AFP.
- Father, we ask that the people of Indonesia will repent of sin and turn to Jesus as Savior of their soul. For the days are evil and it is time to seek the Lord. May there be many who will have visions and dreams of the Christ and turn to Him. In Jesus Name.
- "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24:7-8)
6. Climate: New study slashes estimate of icecap loss - Yahoo News
Estimates of the rate of ice loss from Greenland and West Antarctica, one of the most worrying questions in the global warming debate, should be halved, according to Dutch and US scientists. In the last two years, several teams have estimated Greenland is shedding roughly 230 gigatonnes of ice, or 230 billion tonnes, per year and West Antarctica around 132 gigatonnes annually.
- Father, may people take notice of the many changes in the earth and we pray that You quicken their hearts to realize that the coming of the Lord is drawing near. May there be a tremendous move of God over all the world. In Jesus Name.
- "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken." (Matthew 24:29)

1. Hamas threatens PA over drive-by shooting arrests - ICEJ News
Hamas on Wednesday warned that it would strike out at the Palestinian Authority if its security forces continued to arrest its operatives in the West Bank, following the PA's arrest of six Hamas members suspected of involvement in last week's pair of drive-by ambushes on Israeli motorists.
2. Obama expresses faith in talks despite PA rhetoric - ICEJ News
US Jewish leaders urged to prepare for opposition from Right
Obama told a White House conference call with rabbis on Tuesday, ahead of Rosh Hashana, that Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas' statements threatening to quit the recently restarted direct negotiations with Israel and rejection of any compromise as "political posturing" for domestic consumption which he does not anticipate will interfere in the progress of the talks.
3. Iran's friends urge clerical regime to cooperate with IAEA - ICEJ News
Russia and China urged Iran to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency on Tuesday, following the publication of an agency report which accused the Islamic Republic of obstructing its work by, among other things, ejecting IAEA inspectors who dare to suggest that Iran's nuclear program has a military dimension.
4. Sha'ath insists PA will never recognize Israel as 'Jewish state' - ICEJ News
"The Palestinian Authority will never recognize Israel as a Jewish state," Palestinian negotiator Nabil Sha'ath insisted on Wednesday, rebuffing a key demand by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he launched direct talks with PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Washington one week ago. "Such a declaration would directly threaten the Muslims and Christians in Israel and prevent Palestinian refugees, who left their homes and villages a number of decades ago, from being granted the right to return to them," Sha'ath told reporters in Ramallah.
5. Mortar hits near Israeli day-cares just ahead of openings - ICEJ News
A mortar shell fired by a Palestinian terror cell from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning landed between two kindergartens in an Israeli kibbutz in the Sha'ar Hanegev region. There were no injuries as the mortar struck some 30 minutes prior to the students' scheduled arrival for a short day of classes on the eve of Rosh Hashana. Security officials decided to let school continue as usual. The area's early warning system failed to sound the alert of an incoming shell. Many communities near the Gaza border still do not have adequate bomb shelters and reinforced buildings to guard against the thousands of rockets and missiles in the hands of nearby Palestinian terror militias.
- We offer praise to our God that these little ones were not injured or killed. Praise God!
The Daily Jot
From the Prophetic abyss, the people of God must arise
This is a time of great crisis. We have never in the history of the United States been in such a one like this at a time such as this. Just to illustrate--CNSNews.com has made the startling documentation that in the first 19 months of this Administration, the federal debt held by the public increased to $8.83 trillion, some $2.5 trillion more than the cumulative total of the national debt held by the public amassed by all US presidents from George Washington through Ronald Reagan. Yet the president was in Cleveland, Ohio Wednesday campaigning against Republicans, who he says are responsible for this morass. Can anyone say Nero?
There has to be a moment of reality here. It would appear that our worst enemy could not have done a better job destroying the economic free market fiber of this country than the current US president. Its as if he set out on purpose to do it. And in a way, the answer is obvious. His campaign promises were for "change" and to "remake America" both terms of socialism and economic collectivism in a traditional statist vocabulary. But the American people were certainly thinking another type of change and now the reality of change is setting in. At this level of debt, America's economy and culture is headed toward the biggest downturn ever experienced by this generation.
There is no way, aside from a miraculous turnaround in political policy and the abolition of quickly institutionalized socialist programs that this nation will know any form of future prosperity. Socialism does not give a hand up, but rather pulls people down. Day in and day out, I receive emails from people wanting to know what to do. We must have "Revivalution"--revival that spawns revolution--true just action compelled by the commandments of God. It is not burning Korans. It is not self indulgent personal prophecy. Its not waiting for the rapture. It is not doctrines that rearrange the word of God into man's desires of it. It is true adherence to the word of God, God's commandments in action, changing a heart at a time.
What can you do? What must you do? First, you must know the word of God. If you don't know it, read it. If your pastor is not preaching it, demand that he does or find another church. Then you must have an Ephesians 6:18-20 moment: "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak." This nation is on the precipice of drastic failure. Only God by acting through his people can save it. Will you do as God commands?

Fidel Castro tells Ahmadinejad: Stop denying the holocaust
Cuba's former leader Fidel Castro has urged Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to stop slandering the Jews, according to an article published on the U.S. website The Atlantic on Tuesday. The ageing revolutionary devoted much of a five-hour conversation to the issue of anti-Semitism, wrote Jeffrey Goldberg, who interviewed Castro in the Cuban capital Havana. Castro told The Atlantic that the Iranian government should understand the consequences anti-Semitism. "This went on for maybe two thousand years," he said. "I don't think anyone has been slandered more than the Jews. I would say much more than the Muslims. They have been slandered much more than the Muslims because they are blamed and slandered for everything. No one blames the Muslims for anything." He added: "The Jews have lived an existence that is much harder than ours. There is nothing that compares to the Holocaust." (Ha'aretz) Read more.

Islamic Group Asks Army to Deny 'Traitor' GI's Request for Conscientious Objector Status
An American Muslim organization is asking the U.S. Army to deny a Muslim soldier's request for conscientious objector status, accusing him of treason and urging the military to punish him to the full extent of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Pfc. Naser Abdo, a 20-year-old infantryman who joined the Army one year ago, filed for conscientious objector status in June, saying his faith and the military don't mix. "As a Muslim, we stand against injustice, we stand against discrimination, and I feel it's my duty as an individual to do this," Abdo told FoxNews.com. The Army has deferred his scheduled deployment to Afghanistan. But the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) says Abdo's claim is "patently false." "Muslims serve with distinction throughout the United States Military and AIFD sees Abdo's traitorous public assertions as a slap in the face to all American Muslims especially those Muslims who fight in our armed forces for the liberty and freedom guaranteed by the American Constitution," the group said in a statement it issued on Friday. Alaska Joins 37 States in Voting for Parental Notification
Before Teen Abortions
The voters in Alaska on Tuesday voted for Measure 2, a ballot proposal which would allow parental notication before their teen-age daughter has an abortion. Alaska now joins 36 other states with a commonsense pro-life law and abortionists will now have to give parents of a minor girl 48 hours notice before performing an abortion on her.
There was a wide margin of victory for Measure 2 in Alaska. Some 55.5% of Alaskan voters voted for the initiative whereas only 44.4% of voters voted against the measure. In addition, the Sarah Palin-endorsed Senate candidate, Joe Miller, a West Point graduate and Gulf War I veteran, who ran in the Alaska Republican primary against Senator Lisa Murkowski and apparently has beaten her, credits his victory, in part, to the pro-life voters who voted for Measure 2. A Time for Celebration!
Dear Friends,
Today is Rosh Hashana - the Jewish New Year. For generations it has been a time of reflection and celebration in Israel. A time to remember God's faithfulness and seek His blessing on the year to come.
And Israel has much to thank God for. Speaking to the nation yesterday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that - with unemployment the lowest in years - Israel has weathered the global economic downturn better than almost any other developed nation. He also emphasized that he remains committed to pursuing a sincere peace with the Palestinians, despite many genuine obstacles and doubts.
Rosh Hashana is also a reminder that two weeks from now thousands of believers from the four corners of the earth will converge on Jerusalem to express their love and support for the nation of Israel at the annual Christian celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles.
I'll be there and you can be too!
This year, Christians around the world can experience the Feast of Tabernacles live and on-demand online. Between September 21-28, we will be streaming live broadcasts daily from Jerusalem. Then on Wednesday September 29, we'll be streaming the Grand Finale live from desert at Ein Gedi with special guest, Reinhard Bonnke, a man whose ministry has seen millions come to Christ across Africa.
