Socialists Take Aim At Free Speech In Legislative Coup Attempt

Socialists Take Aim At Free Speech In Legislative Coup Attempt

Modern socialist democracy largely depends on consensus of opinion or at least the perception of finding common ground in order to advance its agenda. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that one of the strategies for achieving the agenda is silencing the opposition. The first 100 hours of the Democratic controlled Congress has taken measures to do just that. First, the new rules passed by the House of Representatives on a party-line vote allowed no opposition legislation or amendments to the Democratic agenda. And the Senate, as one of its first legislative initiatives, is attempting to silence the powerful Christian activists by making it illegal for them to contact en mass members of Congress.

Section 220 of Senate Bill 1 redefines lobbying to bring under the control of lobbying laws organizations that encourage citizens to contact their congressional representatives to give an opinion on an issue. The bill carefully says that “Lobbying activities include paid efforts to stimulate grassroots lobbying, but do not include grassroots lobbying.” This means that if you tithe or contribute to an organization that informs you about an issue and urges you to contact your elected federal representative, it is considered a violation of lobbying laws by that organization if it is not a registered lobbyist. Most any not for profit organization would fall under this law.

Radio and television programs that urge people to contact their congressmen, organizations that inform the public about urgent legislative or policy issues, and even columns such as The Daily Jot would come under lobbying laws and be subject to fines and penalties for suggesting that audiences should contact their congressmen. This is a tremendous breech of free speech and religious expression akin to Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Communist China and Theocratic Islam. . . But Senator Bennett from Utah has offered an amendment to SB 1 that would strike this treasonous language. If you believe that all free speech should be protected, call your senator at 202-224-3121 and give him a dose of American freedom in support of Bennett amendment 20 to SB 1. Leftists are trying to take over your nation without firing a shot. Its time to sound the alarm! In Matthew 5:37 Jesus said, “But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes” and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.”

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
