Iran has been infiltrating Iraq with intelligence operatives since 2001 and has been recruiting secret Shia militiamen by the tens of thousands since 2004 in an effort to take control of southern Iraq and its oil reserves, according to a report by Mounir Elkhamri, a Middle East Military Analyst for the Foreign Military Studies Office, writing for the Jamestown Foundation. Elkhamri’s extensive research indicates that Iran actually supported the U.S. invasion of Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein, and is implementing a strategy to take over Iraq by being the leading financier and recruiter of opposition to the United States.
The New York Times has reported that the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad outlined a plan to increase its influence in Iraq by opening a national bank there and will be increasing military assistance to Iraq through a “joint security committee.” But according to the Elkhamri report, Iran already has infiltrated the Iraqi government and has recruited over 70,000 militia to fight against the United States, paying them the equivalent of $1,000 per month. Elkhamri reported that Iran sent its special forces officers to Iraq through a construction company that was working on a shrine in Najaf. These officers established contacts and organized underground militia cells in southern Iraq.
The Elkhamir report indicates that the Iranian terrorist regime anticipated a weakening of American will to fight in Iraq over the long term. As leftists in the United States are organizing anti-war protests and liberal politicians are advocating an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, the report states “Iran has sent several Iraqi political figures who were living in Iran back to Iraq to infiltrate and obtain sensitive political positions in the new Iraqi government. Iran considers these figures a solid foundation in the process of incorporating Iraq, without its northern area of Kurdistan, the moment the coalition forces start leaving Iraq.” Elkhamir says the Iranians used the Iraqi elections to make sure their supporters were elected.
Elkhamri says the Iraqi Shia militias that are providing the opposition to the United States have the military, financial and spiritual support of the Iranian government. At stake are the rich oilfields in Southern Iraq which could give Iran control of over 20% of the world’s oil supply. The New York Times story and the Elkhamri report confirm that the U.S. is engaged in a war for the survival of the Republic and the frontlines are Iraq. Iraq has been cleverly infiltrated by Iran and America’s leftist politicians are in lock and step with the Iranian strategy. Conspiracy, no. Same spirit, yes. 2 Timothy 3:13 says of the latter days, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
