In Congress This Week . . .

The Senate wraps up a bill to raise the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25 an hour, possibly tagging on $8 billion in small business tax breaks and - less likely - a measure to expand small business health plans.

The House plans to vote on a long - term “continuing resolution” that will keep the federal government running at 2006 cash levels through fiscal year 2007. The resolution next gets handed over to the Senate for its okay before the current continuing resolution runs out on February 15.
