PRESIDENT AND MRS. BUSH TO TRAVEL TO BRAZIL, URUGUAY, COLOMBIA, GUATEMALA, AND MEXICO

PRESIDENT AND MRS. BUSH TO TRAVEL TO BRAZIL, URUGUAY, COLOMBIA, GUATEMALA, AND MEXICO

Seeking to mend relations with neglected neighbors and counter the influence of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez, President George W. Bush starts tomorrow on a weeklong swing (March 8-14) through Latin America. Like many other Latin American countries, all five that he will be visiting are plagued by violence and, to a lesser degree, widespread corruption.

Chávez is spending billions of petrodollars in the region to gain backing for his leftist crusade against Bush, a man he calls "Satan." And while some Latin American leaders may privately disagree with Chávez, they are expected to present a united front against any outside attempt to sideline him. (Freedom House, Newsday)

Pray for the protection of President and Mrs. Bush, their staff and all those charged with their safety. Ask the LORD to thwart any attempts of violence and assassination.

"No weapon forged against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD. (Isaiah 54:17)
