EMP Alert

North Korea reveals nuclear EMP attack plans

In a sign that North Korea is not planning to give up all its nuclear arsenal, the communist government has revealed plans to use the weapons to launch EMP attacks that effectively dismantle technology and computers in the blast area. A report on the new document distributed by the government shows the acronym for electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, clearly printed in July.

The Daily NK, which obtained the documents, suggested that a target would be South Korea. "EMP attacks lead to the destruction of electronic circuits in semiconductors, affecting the use of TVs, mobile phones and computers in the area. The widespread failure of South Korea's mass communications system due to an EMP attack and its effect on national infrastructure and military command systems could lead to widespread chaos, experts warn, and they are calling on the government to take measures to prepare for such attacks," it said.

But it also said that the propaganda report was meant to assure supporters in the countryside that it wasn't giving up all nuclear weapons in any deal with the United States. "Some experts say that the authorities added the section to propaganda materials handed out to farmers as a way to emphasize that the regime will not give up its nuclear weapons," said the report. U.S. officials have recently warned that North Korea's offensive war plans include the use of EMP weapons and that the United States is a target.
The report and the U.S. experts said that North Korea would deliver the weapon either by satellite or on a ship fitted with a rocket launcher. The weapon would then be detonated 30 to 100 kilometers high which would give the electronic pulse a wide area that could dismantle technology and the electric grid on the East Coast. A congressional report has warned that an EMP attack could last a year and lead to the deaths of 90 percent of those in its blast area as people struggle to live without electricity, running water, and medical facilities as well as chaos.

The Pentagon has recently begun working on the issue. Other countries eyeing EMP weapons are Russia and Iran. (Washington Examiner) Read more

- Father, we pray for the complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and pray Your Spirit will hover over these two nations as they move towards normalization and peace.

- Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. (2 Corinthians 13:11)

Focus on Israel

1. CNN commentator calls for elimination of Israel, endorses violent Palestinian 'resistance'. - Washington Examiner

CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill, in a Wednesday speech to the United Nations, called for violent resistance against Israel and advocated expanding Palestine "from the river to the sea," a phrase used by those who believe that Israel should be eliminated. Hill, who has a long history of anti-Semitism, made the remarks at a U.N. event commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. He said the international community should boycott Israel and allow Palestinians more space to engage in violence against the Jewish state, arguing that violence was also employed to end "American apartheid."

"Tactics otherwise divergent from Dr. King or Gandhi were equally important to preserving safety and attaining freedom," he said, according to an account in Arutz Sheva. "If we are in true solidarity, we must allow them the same range of opportunity and political possibility. We must recognize the right of an occupied people to defend themselves. We must prioritize peace, but we must not romanticize or fetishize it. We must promote nonviolence at every opportunity, but cannot endorse narrow politics that shames Palestinians for resisting, for refusing to do nothing in ethnic cleansing."

2. UN: Eastern Jerusalem must be capital of 'Palestine' - Israel National News

The commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at the United Nations began Wednesday.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres addressed the opening meeting of the three-day commemoration. Secretary General Guterres said that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people served to "remind us of our collective and unfinished task" to create a Palestinian State.

Guterres criticized Israel for "demolitions, continued settlement construction, and evictions" and stated that eastern Jerusalem must be the capital of a Palestinian Arab state.

Palestinian Authority representative to the United Nations Riyad Mansour read a statement by PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the meeting. (Read more)

- Father, we repent that the words "Palestinian State" are even being uttered in the chambers of the United Nations. We rebuke the lie that this is a "nation," and we release the truth of the Word of God into this world body. This land belongs to the Jews: the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In Your Name, amen.

3. Hamas: Palestinians aided Israeli commandos in botched Gaza operation - Jerusalem Post

Hamas has uncovered critical information about a botched IDF operation in Gaza earlier in November that left one soldier, Lt.-Col. M. dead, according to a report in the Lebanese Al-Akhbar.

The report states that Israeli soldiers entered Gaza multiple times before the operation through the Kerem Shalom crossing, the Palestinian side of which is under the control of the Palestinian Authority, in order to install listening devices aimed at Hamas's communications network. In one instance, the commandos were disguised as workers for a Palestinian telecommunications company and installed the surveillance equipment east of Gaza city.

Before their final operation, the Israeli soldiers entered Gaza through the Erez checkpoint using false identities.

4. Brazil embassy moving to Jerusalem, Jared Kushner learns - World Israel News

The 34-year-old son of Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro confirmed that his country's embassy in Israel will be relocated from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Meeting in Washington Tuesday with Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Brazilian congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro said that the "question should not be whether, but when" the move will take place.

Brazil's new president won the national election last month on promises to make several changes in Latin America's largest nation, one of which is to foster closer relations with Israel.

The Daily Brief

1. Trump congratulates Hyde-Smith on her 'big win' in Mississippi's special election - FoxNews

President Trump late Tuesday congratulated incumbent Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith for handily defeating an insurgent challenge by Democrat Mike Espy in Mississippi's contentious special election runoff to become the first woman ever elected to Congress from the state.

The GOP victory gives Republicans a net gain of two Senate seats in the midterm elections and a 53-47 advantage in the upper chamber, a margin that could prove critical in contentious confirmation battles to come. Hyde-Smith, 59, is an ardent supporter of Trump who was appointed earlier this year by Mississippi's governor to fill retiring Sen. Thad Cochran's seat. She will finish out the remaining two years of Cochran's term.

"Cindy Hyde-Smith has been a strong conservative voice since joining the Senate, so it should come as no surprise that she was elected by Mississippians to represent them in Washington," National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman Cory Gardner said in a statement. "Senator Hyde-Smith won tonight because she has a trusted record of fighting for Mississippi, and we are happy she will be returning to the United States Senate." (Read more)

Please note: Last night we mistakenly cited Mike Espy as the winner in this Senate race, which was, of course, incorrect. We apologize for any confusion this error may have caused you. Thank you.

- Father, we pray Your blessing over Senator Hyde-Smith and the state of Mississippi. Give her a servant's heart as she works and advocates for the people of Mississippi.

- Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. (Psalm 34:3)

2. Democrats Near California Sweep as T.J. Cox Overtakes David Valadao - Breitbart

Democrat T.J. Cox overtook incumbent Republican Rep. David Valadao in California's 21st congressional district in late ballot counts Monday - nearly three weeks after Election Day. Valadao had a comfortable lead of 6.4% on Election Day. But California has extremely lenient rules about mail-in ballots, allowing ballots to be counted as long as they are postmarked by midnight on Election Day and received within the three days following.

As of Monday evening, Cox now leads Valadao by 0.4%, or 436 votes out of nearly 111,000 counted so far in the rural, heavily Hispanic district in California's Central Valley. Valadao's apparently imminent defeat means that Democrats will have won seven out of the seven districts they targeted in 2018 - all of them districts in which Hillary Clinton won more votes than Donald Trump even though Republicans were re-elected to U.S. House seats in each.

Curiously, Republican turnout was stronger than Democratic turnout in the June 5th primary in all but six of those districts. But Democrats ramped up their efforts - and their spending - to overtake the GOP across the state. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for integrity throughout our voting system. We ask You to bring to light any and all malfeasance and for justice to be done.

- Yet your father has cheated me by changing my wages ten times. However, God has not allowed him to harm me. (Genesis 31:7)

3. The Third Circuit is poised to "flip" - Powerline

When President Trump took office, only four federal courts of appeals - the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth - contained a majority of Republican appointees. However, President Trump, assisted by Sen. Grassley and his fellow Republican Senators, has done an outstanding job of filling vacancies on these courts with conservative jurists. One sensed that it was only a matter of time until at least one appeal courts with a majority of Democrat appointees flipped.

Now, says Ed Whelan, the Third Circuit may be on the verge of flipping. Trump has nominated Paul Matey to the court. His nomination is pending in committee and he's likely to be confirmed soon. At that point, the court will be evenly divided.

This week, moreover, Thomas Vanaskie, a Clinton appointee, will take senior status. President Trump will then be able to select a nominee. That nominee's confirmation would mean that Republican nominees outnumber Democratic ones, by 8-6. Ed notes that the party affiliation of the appointing president is an imperfect proxy for judicial philosophy. I agree. But it's a good enough proxy for conservatives to celebrate the prospect of the Third Circuit's "flip." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for good and just judges, men and women of integrity, throughout our court system. In Your mercy, raise up these important leaders and give them favor.

- The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; the Lord raises up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. (Psalm 146:8)

4. SCOTUS Weighs Limits on Police Seizure of Property - FreeBeacon

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments Wednesday in a case which could have a profound impact on the ability of states to seize the property of ordinary citizens. The case, Timbs v. Indiana, is expected by some court watchers to continue the court's steely-eyed suspicion of state laws that concern the seizing of property allegedly associated with criminal activity.

A lower court found that "while the negative impact on our society of trafficking in illegal drugs is substantial, a forfeiture of approximately four (4) times the maximum monetary fine is disproportional to [Petitioner's] illegal conduct." As such, that court concluded that the forfeiture violated the Eighth Amendment, which prohibits "excessive fines."

"The immediate implication of the Supreme Court ruling in our favor would be that the citizens of Indiana and those of three other states would again enjoy the protections of the excessive fines clause," Wesley Hottot, who argued on behalf of Timbs on Wednesday, told the Free Beacon. [This argument] has found itself with a broad spectrum of allies, ranging from the conservative Judicial Watch to the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the restoration of this right against "excessive fines" and a reinstatement of the right each citizen has to their private property.

- The prince must not take any of the inheritance of the people, driving them off their property. He is to give his sons their inheritance out of his own property, so that not one of my people will be separated from their property. (Ezekiel 46:18)

5. Trump's Plan to Stop the Caravan - RealClearPolitics

President Donald Trump is putting the economic screws to Mexico to control the flood of Central American migrants storming our southern border. Exports are Mexico's economic lifeblood. A staggering 81 percent of those exports go to the United States. That's why Trump's threat to close the border -- even for short time -- gets results.

Mexico's incoming president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, seems open to a "Remain in Mexico" deal that will make his country the waiting room for migrants applying for asylum in the U.S. Because they won't step foot on American soil, they won't have a "right" to public schooling, emergency health care and other costly American guarantees.

Trump also announced on Nov. 9 that only migrants presenting themselves at official border entrances -- not those sneaking in -- could apply for asylum. Trump's trying to solve the catch-and-release problem. Unfortunately, a federal judge in San Francisco, Judge Jon S. Tigar, put a temporary hold on Trump's policy. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for continued cooperation with Mexico and that this situation will actually lead to better relations between our two nations.

- If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. (Romans 12:18)

6. Migrant Caravan Leaders Hold Presser, Demand U.S. Speed Up Asylum Process - Breitbart

Central American migrants in the caravan held a press conference in Tijuana, Mexico, on Tuesday and demanded that the United States speed up its asylum process to allow more migrants into the country. "It has not been easy to leave our countries, to leave part of our family behind, to expose our children and to walk through unknown places in order to have a chance to live in the United States or other countries that can give us an opportunity to work an honest job and offer a better future to our children," they said. "We want them to have access to education, healthcare and a life without threats."

The migrants also claimed that they were "victims of the repression" from the U.S. border patrol on Sunday after border patrol agents fired tear gas to disperse migrants who were throwing rocks at the agents. According to NBC, the migrants also reportedly claimed that children died because of border patrol agents' actions, but reporters noted that those claims were completely unsubstantiated after checking with local authorities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

In addition to demanding a quicker asylum process in the United States, the migrants also requested an end to the "arbitrary, manipulative and involuntary deportations" in Mexico and a formation of a "commission by the incoming Mexican government" to negotiate a "permanent solution" for migrants wishing to remain in Mexico. They also asked for "Human Rights" officials to accompany them at detention centers and for the names of all deported migrants to be released publicly. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You will rebuke those who are using these migrants to further their own political and legal agenda.

- He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor. (Psalm 72:4)

7. Honduran president's brother accused of conspiring to import tons of cocaine to US - Fox News

A brother of Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez was charged by federal prosecutors Monday with conspiring to import tons of cocaine to the United States, as well as weapons offenses and lying to federal agents. Juan Antonio Hernandez Alvarado, aka Tony Hernandez, was arrested Friday in Miami and was due to appear in federal court there on Monday.

Federal prosecutors in New York described the suspect, a former Honduran congressman, as "a large-scale drug trafficker" who worked for more than a decade with compatriots as well as traffickers based in Mexico, Colombia and other countries to receive, process and distribute cocaine making its way through Honduras en route to the United States. Hernandez used cocaine laboratories in Honduras and Colombia, where some drug packages were stamped with the initials "TH," according to investigators.

The drug-related corruption allegations that swirled around Tony Hernandez have cast a shadow over his brother's government in a Central American country that is a major transit hub for cocaine. After his brother's arrest Friday, the president's administration reiterated an earlier statement that "no one is above the law, and every person must have the right to a legitimate defense and be presumed innocent." (Read more)

- Father, the people of Honduras need You to cleanse their nation and heal them from corruption and drug trafficking. We pray for corporate repentance, from the President on down in the government and throughout the nation. Help them accept the Prince of Peace and change their hearts and lives.

- The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

8. Trump hits Nicaraguan officials with sanctions over corruption, human-rights abuses - Washington Times

The U.S. imposed sanctions Tuesday on Nicaragua's vice president and its national security adviser for corruption and for their violent repression of pro-democracy protesters, as President Trump ramps up economic and diplomatic pressure on the so-called "troika of tyranny" in Latin America.

Mr. Trump signed an executive order targeting the government of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega regime and its supporters, who "continue to engage in rampant corruption, dismantling of democratic institutions, serious human rights abuse, and exploitation of the people and public resources of Nicaragua for private gain," the Treasury Department said.

"Vice President Murillo and her political operators have systematically sought to dismantle democratic institutions and loot the wealth of Nicaragua to consolidate their grip on power," said Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin. "This administration is committed to holding the Ortega regime accountable for the violent protests and widespread corruption that have led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent Nicaraguans and destroyed their economy." (Read more)

- Father, we pray these sanctions will be effective in changing the Nicaraguan government and improving the lives of its' citizens.

- Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the Lord your God and have no awe of me," declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty. (Jeremiah 2:19)

9. "Human Sacrifices" in Greece - Gatestone Institute

Greece's former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Kotzias, in an interview on November 20, disclosed -- for a second time -- that he sent to the prosecutor 93 cases that involved Greek diplomats issuing visas to unaccompanied children in order to facilitate illegal removal of their organs. These diplomats are already in jail.

These cases are the tip of the iceberg. According to an April 24, 2018 report in the newspaper Kathimerini, there are thousands of unaccompanied children in Greece who have illegally entered the country, and government authorities have not turned their attention to them. They all face the risks of sexual exploitation and illicit organ removal.

Kotzias has brought to light a huge international problem, which much of the international community and the political leaders of the EU pretend does not exist. Now he has taken the mask off of the supposedly humanitarian face of Greek and European hospitality to immigrants and refugees. He has revealed that a network of government officials, doctors and organ buyers, all of whom facilitate and profit from illegal organ trafficking -- is something very real; its size may be beyond our imagination. (Read more)

- Father, we ask You to expose all the people involved in exploiting these little ones and pray You will bring the oppressors to justice.

- By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. (Psalm 17:14a)

10. Trump could free Africa's last remaining colony - Washington Examiner

Once a colony of Spain, Western Sahara is Africa's only remaining colony. After promising the Sahrawi of Western Sahara their right to self-determination, Spain simply left, allowing Morocco and Mauritania to invade.

Today, Morocco occupies much of the Western Sahara. It's been 43 years since the International Court of Justice rejected Morocco's claims and found that the Sahrawi people living there had a right to self-determination. Yet Morocco continues its brutal occupation, and its king routinely thumbs his nose at international legal and public pressure to free the Western Sahara.

Thus far, though all U.S. Presidents have urged Morocco to allow the Sahrawi to determine their own future by letting them vote in a referendum called for by the United Nations, we have not taken concrete steps that could lead to resolving the matter. President Trump could change that by formally recognizing the Sahrawi Republic and calling for the end of its illegal occupation. (Read more)

- Father, we lift up the longsuffering people of Western Sahara and pray they will finally receive the recognition and independence promised them so many years ago.

- My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. (Isaiah 51:5)

11. Security concerns arise as Argentina hosts G-20 - ABC News

About 22,000 police and security agents will guard U.S. President Donald Trump and other leaders from the Group of 20 industrialized and emerging nations during the two-day meeting that starts Friday. At least another eight U.S. aircraft and up to 400 American military personnel and civilians are expected to provide security. (Read more)

- Lord God, we ask that You dispatch myriads of angels to protect President Trump and all other world leaders when they convene in Argentina on Friday and Saturday. If talks are scheduled between our President and President Putin, as well as others, we ask for Your perfect will to be accomplished at those times. In Your name, amen.

- "He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways." (Psalm 91:11)

Choosing life or death

The Lord says in Deuteronomy 30:19, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live." Choice is important. It is often a matter of life or death, especially for the unborn, who have suffered some 60 million deaths in America alone since 1973, by mothers choosing to abort their babies. During the past decade, however, prospective mothers may be making better life-death choices. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the total number of reported abortions decreased 24% over the period of 2006-2015, and abortions among women aged 15-19 decreased 41% during the same period.

These statistics could be indicating that more women are choosing life or they could be demonstrating an increased use of widely available birth control. That there is one death of a preborn due to abortion is far too many, but that abortions are declining in America is at least a positive sign. Perhaps more women are choosing to do what Congress and the Supreme Court have been unwilling to do since the high court's 1973 decision to legalize abortion. Regrettably, We the People should have immediately said "NO." No to the communists. No to the feminist movement. No to Planned Parenthood. No to the courts. No to the politicians. The right to life is embedded in the Declaration of Independence, guaranteeing the inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

So many so-called "Christian" politicians answer the abortion question by saying that it's not for them or their families, but it's good for women because, after all, it's their bodies. The Bible says "Thou shalt not murder." In Jeremiah 1:5, the Lord says, "Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee." The Bible says to choose life. Yet politicians and judges excuse their willful act to ignore what they say they believe. This is the height of hypocrisy to so nonchalantly dismiss life. The immediate past "president" celebrated legalized abortion to great applause in January 2012 by saying: "As we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams."

How could anyone think that a right to choose death should be celebrated? Near the ruins of Solomon's stables overlooking the Jezreel Valley, there is a round platform where pagans sacrificed their children. It is a ghastly, spiritually troubled place. Politicians and judges would view this pagan ritual as barbaric, but they rush to defend the racially-motivated Planned Parenthood death centers. The Bible says in Jeremiah 2:34, "Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these." Whether the decline in the national abortion rate is the result of choosing life or from some other reason, it is a positive step. Still, nearly a million abortions a year is a great tragedy and a national sin.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

Introducing OPERATION RESTORATION

Introducing OPERATION RESTORATION

Beginning on Sunday, December 2, 2018

OPERATION REFINER'S FIRE-STAGE 2

OPERATION RESTORATION!

National Restoration through Repentance

Conference Line: 605-468-8850; Access Code: 221654#.

"Return to Me," declares the LORD of hosts, "that I may return to you," says the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 1:3)

The Call to Repentance

We believers in Jesus Christ in this nation and all over the globe are His Bride. As we join together through the Holy Spirit, across boundaries, on a given day, to repent for our sins as a nation, a modern-day sacred assembly can be established, by means of a conference call, which is pleasing to the Lord. As we repent in this time of end time disasters, we come closer to unity; we experience cleansing and strengthening as His Bride for His soon return as our Bridegroom.

When our God sees His people called by His name repenting, may He relent in His mercy from the judgment we so deserve. Zechariah 1:3 says: "Return to Me and I will return to you." This nation's restoration requires you and me to repent.

A New Strategy for this Hour:

A Weekly "Solemn Assembly" on one Conference Line!
In times past, leaders with a Biblical mindset called for national days of prayer, fasting and repentance. That may still happen in today's world. In the meantime you and I, His people, have an opportunity to repent in a grassroots solemn assembly as we utilize a joint conference line.

Operation Refiner's Fire was the repentance conference line first used to pray to see God move to extinguish California's disastrous fires. We now praise the LORD that the fires have gone out, but the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT still burns to see us fall on our knees before Him, offering heartfelt acts of repentance . . . leading to the cleansing of our own hearts and of our land . . . preparing the way for REVIVAL to visit our people!

We now sense a continuum in the Spirit: from REPENTANCE, to REVIVAL, to RESTORATION. Hallelujah!
Accordingly, the REPENTANCE conference line will now be open, one day each week - every Sunday -- for 24 hours each day, from 9:00 a.m. EST on Sundays to 9:00 a.m. EST on Mondays. The conference number is still: 605-468-8850; Access Code: 221654#.
OPERATION RESTORATION is now scheduled to begin this Sunday, December 2nd, which also aligns with the first day of Hanukkah.
Let's join together, beginning each week on our knees, in Operation Restoration. Amen!

We welcome you. Please come join us.

Please note: we encourage you to pause before our Lord in personal prayer before joining this call line, in order to prepare your own heart to "enter in" to the flow of ongoing corporate intercession.

Also, we are actively now recruiting facilitators who can commit to hosting one hour on this call. Please contact Pastor Jeff Daly at his new email address, below, if you feel led to make this commitment.

In His Amazing Grace,

A Message from Joel Rosenberg

A Message from Joel Rosenberg:

Let's be clear: Vladimir Putin will be happy to welcome Saudi Arabia into Moscow's orbit if the U.S. cuts Riyadh loose

(Denver, Colorado) -- Whither the U.S.-Saudi alliance? A ferocious debate over this question is raging in Washington at this very moment, and the stakes are high. On on side of the debate are many in the media, along with numerous former advisors to President Barack Obama. They have never liked how close Washington has been with Riyadh and they are freshly determined to smash the Saudis in the mouth because of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, the Saudi journalist . . .

What's more, a growing number of Republicans on Capitol Hill are also ready to impose severe punishments on the entire Saudi government over the Khashoggi affair. Some are calling into question the nature of the alliance itself.
On the other side of the debate are those who fully agree that the Khashoggi murder was despicable and must be punished, but are calling for cooler heads to prevail when it comes to upending American policy in the Gulf region. They make the case that we need the Saudis to help us counter Iran and Russia in the Middle East, to help us fight the Radicals like al Qaeda, ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood, to keep oil flowing, and hopefully to advance Arab-Israeli peace.

They make the case that the 33 year-old Saudi Crown Prince is making bold, serious, and important reforms at home, and wants to work more closely with the U.S. and the West. Yes, he has made mistakes, even serious ones. But he should be helped, coached, encouraged, not cut loose.

What's more, these voices caution that punishing the entire Saudi government -- rather than targeting the operatives responsible for the crime -- would be a serious mistake, one that could rupture the alliance. Some worry that if Washington hits the Saudis too hard, this could drive Riyadh into the waiting (eager) arms of Vladimir Putin and the Russians.

Putin is headed to the G20 summit in Argentina and plans to meet with the Saudi delegation. He would absolutely love to flip Riyadh from the American camp into the Russian orbit. I don't believe Saudi King Salman or Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) are inclined at the moment to switch sides to the Kremlin. But I fully expect Putin to make a very tempting offer. And who knows where the king and his son might wind up if most of Washington loses focus on U.S. national security interests in the region, in addition to our enormously important human rights concerns.
At the moment, the anti-MBS/anti-Saudi faction is the loudest. Their articles, interviews and speeches are everywhere. (Read more, including references to four more articles, here.)

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God."
