Today's Daily Brief

1. Musharraf Resigns As Army Chief - International Herald Tribune

President Pervez Musharraf resigned his military post as Chief of Army Staff Wednesday, handing over the command stick to his successor in a ceremony at army headquarters and ending his eight years of military rule. He remains president and will be sworn in to a new five-year term in the capital on Thursday, but as a civilian president his power will be diminished.

· Power at any price? We ask You, Lord for the salvation of this man who resigns an office but for all intents and purposes will continue to lead in the way he has done so for the past eight years. May deception end and Your truth prevail in Pakistan with many being saved due to this maneuvering by Mr. Musharraf.

· "Do not fear, for I am with you." (Genesis 26: 24b NKJV)

2. 1,500 Qaeda Members Freed After Counseling - NY Sun

On the eve of the Annapolis summit on the Middle East conflict, the Saudi royal family released 1,500 members of Al Qaeda from prison, requiring them only to promise to refrain from jihad within the Arabian Peninsula.

· How sad to think that these released prisoners will do no more harm. But with You God, all things are possible. So we again ask You to mightily intervene with this release of more criminal elements that can harm our troops in the Middle East. And as always, may they their families, their friends and even their countries be saved for Jesus' sake. Amen.

· "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" (Revelation 7: 10b NKJV)

3. Report: North Korea Again Helping Syria With Chemical Warheads - World Tribune

North Korea has resumed its assistance to Syria for the installation of chemical warheads on ballistic missiles, a Tokyo newspaper reported. Pyongyang has resumed the transfer of chemical weapons technology to Syria for the assembly of non-conventional missile warheads, according Asian security sources. They said the effort focused on the installation and testing of chemical warheads for the Scud C and Scud D extended-range missiles.

· In our human capacity, we can only think to ask You, Lord to stop this evil North Korean assistance by drying up all resources that Syria has to pay for this diabolical aid. But, we will further ask You to please have Your Holy Spirit intercede for other ways to achieve this disarmament, too. Thank You for the expected miracles when they come!

· "The violence of the wicked will destroy them, because they refuse to do justice." (Proverbs 21: 7 NKJV)

4. China's Action Troubles Admiral - Washington Times

China's refusal to allow two U.S. warships and the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk seeking safe harbor in a storm to port in Hong Kong was decried by Admiral Timothy J. Keating, senior commander in the Pacific. The action was carried out over the Thanksgiving weekend to protest U.S. sales of Patriot missile equipment to Taiwan, Bush administration officials said yesterday.

Admiral Keating said via video from Honolulu, the denial of a safe harbor "is behavior that we do not consider consonant with a nation who advocates a peaceful rise and harmonious relations." The four-star admiral said he doubted that "we'll receive an apology from the Chinese. I'm not expecting one."

· Dearest Father, China needs a gentle reminder from You to tell them that there is pride before a fall. Please arrange for Your ways to reach their military and governmental leadership before another skirmish happens due to actions like this and another recently where a Chinese sub surfaced in the midst of U.S. Naval war exercises! We ask for help, in Your Name, Jesus. Amen.

· "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16: 18 NKJV)

5. Meet The Supermouse Bred By Genetic Scientists That CAN'T Get Cancer - Daily Mail

Mice resistant to cancer have been created in a breakthrough that could lead to a human treatment free of side-effects.

The breakthrough hinges on a mouse gene called Par-4, which produces the protein. U.S. researchers genetically engineered a group of mice to have higher levels of the protein than normal.

· May men remember Lord, that they are not You, God! Only YOU can cure cancer and create a way for researchers to know how to do this. May researchers have their hearts, minds and souls turned to You for help with this breakthrough and may it be for Your glory.

· "By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life." (Proverbs 22: 4 NKJV)

6. Rising Sea Floods Indonesian Capital - Associated Press

Indonesia's environment minister said Tuesday that global warming was to blame after the capital of Jakarta was partially flooded, forcing thousands of people to flee homes and cutting off a highway to the international airport. Authorities used pumps to lower water levels, which reached six feet in the worst-hit areas and washed more than a mile inland Monday, according to Jakarta's flood crisis center. At least 2,200 houses were inundated, some with chest-deep water.

The flooding came as Indonesia prepared to host the U.N. climate change conference from Dec. 3-14, which aims to start negotiations on a replacement for the 1997 Kyoto Protocol on greenhouse gas emissions that expires in 2012. The sprawling archipelagic nation is one of the largest contributors of carbon dioxide emissions, due to the rapid pace of deforestation, but experts say it is also at risk of becoming one of the biggest victims of global warming.

· Heavenly Father, please allow for a way for Indonesia to openly allow for You to be spoken of in their land. May this be a way to show Your Grace and Redemption in the wake of this massive flooding! May many Indonesians be saved unto You because of this calamity.

· "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly." (Psalm 84: 11 NKJV)

7. Senate Faces Vote on Alternative Minimum Tax - NY Sun

When the Senate returns next week, lawmakers will have to decide whether to raise taxes on "carried interest" profits of hedge-fund managers and private equity firms along with other measures that eliminate certain tax advantages for corporations. If not, there will be a tax hike for 23 million Americans. The chamber has dawdled on an $80 billion measure penned by Rep. Charles Rangel of Harlem aimed at providing a one-year fix of the alternative minimum tax, commonly known as the "Alt-Min" tax, which could hit millions in the middle class even though it was meant to affect only the wealthiest taxpayers.

The House bill includes a hotly contested provision that would more than double the tax rate imposed on the earned by the managers of hedge funds. The central point of dispute has not changed: Many Democrats want to offset the cost of fixing the minimum tax by raising rates elsewhere, while Republicans and the Bush administration say the so-called "patch" should not be paid for with tax increases.

· Gracious Father. We humbly ask for Your relief from tax inspired political correctness. Please soften hearts in the Senate for a real vote to help Americans so that a true "Alt-Min" tax can be assigned to those who should pay it, give help to those who need relief from it, and prevent it from being assessed upon those who shouldn't pay it! Thank You.

· "'For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise," says the Lord; 'I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.'" (Psalm 12: 5 NKJV)

7. Geologist's prophecy: Holy Land overdue for a major earthquake - World Tirbune

Based on 400-year historical cycles a the pattern of recent tremors, the Middle East should be expecting a major earthquake in the near future, a geologist said.

Annapolis: The Aftermath

The Calamity of the World in the Wake of the Annapolis Summit

There is a flurry of activity surrounding the Middle East as the Annapolis Summit draws to a close with no real movement in any direction except that the two sides will continue meeting with the goal of a Palestinian state by the end of 2008. Meantime, its as if every possible avenue of Middle East disruption has been presented to the world in the past 48 hours. Headlines abound with news of Iran, Russia, Syria, the mortgage crisis, religious leaders seeking common ground with Islam, near record oil prices, record dollar declines, and so on. The world has entered a period of disruption because it seeks to divide the holy land, especially Jerusalem, by giving parts of it to an anti-God death cult called Islam.

Already, the Palestinian demands are coming that Israel must abandon all the territories captured in the Six Day war and give up East Jerusalem. Palestinian terrorist leader Mahmoud Abbas said, "I have the right here to defend openly and with no hesitation the right of my people to see a new dawn, with no occupation, no settlement, no separation wall, no prisons with thousands of prisoners, no assassinations, no siege, and no roadblocks around villages and cities." This, Abbas demands, includes the Golan Heights, the strategic high ground over the Sea of Galilee, where Syrian snipers routinely killed Israeli farmers and fishermen for sport before the Israelis captured it after Syria attacked Israel in 1973.

Abbas did not mention that the terrorist activity against innocent Israeli citizens will stop. And certainly, Abbas has no intention of putting an end to the terrorism. He has the international community buffaloed into believing that he and his Fatah terror organization has no control over the more radical terrorist group, Hamas. Hamas, meantime, held its own meetings denouncing the Annapolis summit and speaking against any concessions the Abbas contingency might make. The two organizations leave the world with the choice of working with the moderate terrorists or the radical terrorists.

All the while, the Bush Administration is pushing for a Palestinian state that will be under the control of Abbas and his moderate terrorist political party, Fatah. The events surrounding this charade seem surreal. That anyone would believe that terrorists would actually live in peace so long as one Jew is alive in the Middle East is confounding. The hate of Islam toward Jews and Christians far outweighs any desire to have peace, unless it is peace in submission to Islam. The world cannot see what the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." And so it is from Annapolis, Maryland to Jerusalem, Israel and all places in between.

4. What the Saudis Want from Annapolis - Time

5. Olmert: Annapolis strength lies in absence of Hamas - Ynet News

"Annapolis' greatest strength lies in the fact that even though it is taking place without Hamas, there are a great number of Arab nations in attendance. Bush.

The rally was sponsored by One Jerusalem, a new group that is opposed to dividing the city. Cantor came to Israel over the weekend ahead of the U.S.-sponsored Israeli- Palestinian summit to add his voice to those who oppose the division of Jerusalem.

He said the United States supported the idea. "I think it will happen," he said.

The Two Meanings of "Peace"

Islam's Definition of "Peace" Is Not the Same as That of President Bush

Difference Will Be Seen at Annapolis

The Bush Administration needs to wake up to the fact that it is diplomatically attempting to force peace between Israel and Islamic terrorists masquerading as a "Palestinian people"-a peace with a double meaning. To Israel, peace means, let us live in peace. To Islam, peace means submission to Islam and sharia law. Meantime, the spirit of division grows stronger as the Annapolis Summit, intended by President George W. Bush to create a so-called Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with Israel, seeks to divide the traditional Biblical land of Israel, including the holy city of Jerusalem.

The arrogant intent of Islam in this process is so revealing that even the single-minded peaceniks ought to discern it. Leading up to the peace summit, Israel expressed good will toward the Islamic agitators by releasing hundreds of terrorist prisoners and putting an end to new settlement construction. In return, Israel received a taste of what will become an even more violent sentiment once a Palestinian state is established. The democratically elected terrorist group Hamas continued its onslaught of rockets and words ahead of the summit, saying that any peace agreement is already "stillborn." Saudi Arabian officials said they would not shake hands with any Israelis at the peace conference because they didn't want "to give an impression of something that is not there."

And Iran contributed a show of force ahead of the peace talks by announcing that it has successfully built a new long range ballistic missile capable of reaching Israel and U.S. bases in the Middle East. Many pundits are saying that there is a dual purpose to the Annapolis peace summit: One is to lay the groundwork for a Palestinian nation, the other is to form a coalition against Iran. Iran has opposed the peace summit, but is a major financial backer of Palestinian terrorism. But all the media hype that a coalition could be formed against Iran is just that- hype. If a Palestinian nation is birthed from this process, Iran would have a strong influence with a built in staging ground for terrorist activities against Israel.

The Bush Administration is fooling itself. There is no intention of peace on the part of Islamic representatives to the Annapolis summit. The do- gooders focused on peace are being used by Islam to divide Israel even further and gain more ground in what Islam sees as a long term war against Israel and the United States. The more concessions that are made, the more Islam gains. The peace of Islam is found only in complete submission to this evil death cult. The leaders of the world are blinded by their own ambition, except Islam, which sees clearly their goals coming within reach. Jeremiah 8:11 says, "For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying 'peace, peace' when there is no peace."

Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal tells TIME that he is optimistic about this week's Middle East peace conference in Annapolis because of what he calls U.S. determination "to see this through." Continuous U.S. mediation in post-conference negotiations, including pressure on Israel, he says, "can turn things around" and lead to a comprehensive settlement before President Bush's term expires in 13 months.

5. Olmert: Annapolis strength lies in absence of Hamas - Ynet News

"Annapolis' greatest strength lies in the fact that even though it is taking place without Hamas, there are a great number of Arab nations in attendance. The international community understands that Hamas cannot be a part of this process," an enthused Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told reporters in Washington on Monday after his meeting with US President George W. Bush.

6. US Congressman Protests Possible Division of Jerusalem - CNSNews.com

Christians and Jews from around the world could find themselves praying in the crosshairs of terrorist snipers if the eastern sections of Jerusalem are given over to Palestinian control, a visiting U.S. congressman said here. "The security of Jerusalem is more fragile than anything," Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia told a crowd of Israelis who gathered for a rally on Sunday evening. The rally was sponsored by One Jerusalem, a new group that is opposed to dividing the city. Cantor came to Israel over the weekend ahead of the U.S.-sponsored Israeli- Palestinian summit to add his voice to those who oppose the division of Jerusalem.

8. Russia to Host Post-Annapolis Summit - CNSNews.com

Russia expects to host a follow-up summit to Tuesday's Annapolis conference, focusing on "comprehensive" Middle East peace efforts, a Russian Embassy official here told The Jerusalem Post on Monday. The official said he did not yet know the timing, but that the plan was for Moscow to play host to talks that would "cover all the tracks" relating to a conclusive Israel-Arab peace. He said the United States supported the idea. "I think it will happen," he said.

5. Iran says it has built new long-range missile - Ynet News

CHPP to Host Nationwide Conference Call Monday Night

Dear Friends,

As we look in prayer upon the week ahead, words fail us.

Tomorrow, delegates from 49 nations will converge on Washington, D.C. to gather for a dinner on the eve of the "peace talks" in Annapolis the next day. President Bush will welcome the delegation at the dinner, after private meetings at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

At Annapolis, the agenda will include not only making plans to divide Israel, at the Golan Heights, but also to divide JERUSALEM -- the city that God calls His own. According to the plans of man, after the next round of talks is "launched" at Annapolis, the Golan Heights will be given to Syria and half of Jerusalem will be given to the Palestinians, who will then establish their own capital there.

But this city belongs to God.

"And to his son I will give one tribe, that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for Myself, to put My name there." (I Kings 11:36)

And God promises to fight for His city!

"And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it." (Zech. 12:3)

Words, again, fail us.

We are going to open a conference line at 8:00 p.m. Monday night, for two hours, and we welcome your calls at that time. CHPP intercessors will begin by sharing our insights after an on-site prayer tour of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis last week. (Our report will include key strategies for prayer this week at Annapolis!) We will then open up the line, and welcome all of you to call in with your prayers, insights, or news about these talks.

May God, in His wrath, yet show us His mercy!

Date: Monday, November 26, 2007
Time: 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. EST
PLEASE CALL (916-344-1630)
to receive phone number and code
to participate on prayer call.

P.S. This line will accommodate up to 96 callers. If you can't get through, please hang up and try again. Keep trying!

Eye for an Eye

2007: Nine Major FEMA Disasters and Two Major Crises Coincide with U.S. Involvement in the Israel "Peace" Process

By Bill Koenig

www.watch.org

I primarily focus on billion dollar-plus U.S. events that coincide with White House involvement with Israel's land. However, after research, I discovered there were nine major FEMA disasters and/or clusters of events in 2007 and two other major crises that coincided either with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit to Jerusalem or U.S. President George W. Bush, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Secretary Rice's Quartet meetings.

After four of Rice's eight trips to Israel this year, President Bush declared major FEMA disasters for events that coincided with her trips to Israel.

Four disaster events and/or clusters of events were weather-related. A fifth disaster occurred when a major bridge collapsed in the Congressional district of Congress' only Muslim Congressman - on the day he stated he was going back to Israel to work on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. At the same time, Rice was in Jerusalem meeting with Olmert, Shimon Peres, Tzipi Livni, and Ehud Barak.

The bridge collapsed in the area known as the 'West Bank' - the west bank of the Mississippi River at the campus of the University of Minnesota. (There is a West Bank campus and an East Bank campus.)

During Rice's November trip to Israel there was a major political crisis for the Bush Administration in Pakistan, a sixth major non-FEMA weather event, record oil-prices, and the euro hit a new high against the US dollar.

There were five additional major FEMA disaster events and/or clusters of events that occurred in the United States in 2007 that coincided with President Bush and Rice preparing for a meeting with Olmert, meeting with Olmert in Washington, and during Rice's Quartet meetings.

The costliest FEMA event in 2007 was the billion dollar Southern California fires in October, which were right on the heels of Rice's five day visit to Israel to push for her Middle East Summit at Annapolis - where there were discussions on the boundaries and timing of a Palestinian state, the forfeiture of Judea and Samaria, pressure to divide Jerusalem, and initial discussions on the sovereignty over the Temple Mount.

Praying In Agreement . . .

Tonight, we are going to share the heartcry of our brothers and sisters who are living on the land in Israel and in Jerusalem.

The following four prayer points aboiut the talks in Annapolis have been issued by Intercessors for Israel. We stand in agreement with their intercession, and thank you for partnering in prayer with IFI, too.

These four points for prayer are:

1. Encouraging ourselves in the Lord

2. Prayers for America

3. The goal of Israel's restoration

4. Praying against Palestinian reactions

Encouraging Ourselves in the Lord

1. We encouraged ourselves in the Lord by remembering what Psalm 37 says:

- "Fret not because of evildoers, neither be envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land, and truly you shall be fed. Delight yourself also in the LORD; and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: fret not because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass." (Psalms 37:1- 7)

- Thank You Father that nothing that happens takes You by surprise.

- Lord, teach us to pray - in line with You will.

America is in Danger

America is in greater danger than Israel if Annapolis takes place. Israel is guaranteed by God that she will never be destroyed this side of the new heavens and new earth as God has promised in Jeremiah 31:35-37 as one example. But there is no promise for any other nation - except that they will be judged by how they deal with Israel.

Right now, America is pushing Israel to divide God's Land. Can you already see the judgment? If not, ask God to show you. The only thing that can turn back His hand - and He wants to have mercy - is for Him to find American believers standing in the gap - today - for their nation. So we prayed for you.

- Thank You Lord for those in America who do see the danger and are standing in the gap. Strengthen and encourage them this very day.

- Raise up more watchmen/intercessors this very weekend to plead with You for mercy.

- Do not allow football games and Christmas shopping sales on the Thanksgiving weekend to tempt Your people away from their posts at this very crucial time for both the US and Israel.

- "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." (Ezekiel 22:30)

- Bless You God for the Christian Leaders who are warning America of the danger that lies ahead if Bush and Rice's demonic plan of dividing this land goes ahead.

- "For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land." (Joel 3:1-2)

- Lord, wake up the Messianic Jews in America to take a strong biblical stance with this Your Land - which is their inheritance as well.

- Do not allow the fear of You speaking to them to make aliyah [immigrate to Israel] prevent them from strongly praying against what they know is so clearly against Your will.

- "For thus says the LORD of hosts; After the glory has He sent Me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that touches you touches the apple of His eye." (Zechariah 2:8) May the Church in America realize that the Bush & Rice plan touches the apple of God's eye.

The Goal of Israel's Restoration

The goal of Israel's restoration is Kiddush haShem, the sanctification of God's name. In plain language that means the revelation of the true nature of God - specifically that He is faithful, powerful, omniscience, and that His Word is truth. No wonder the enemy hates what God is doing here in Israel. In Ezekiel 36-39, the two ways in which He sanctifies His name become clear: restoring - regathering and redeeming - Israel, and judging the nations. (see Ezekiel 36:21-28; 37:21-28; 38:14-16,23; 39:4-7,21-29)

- "And I will set My glory among the heathen [Hebrew: nations; gentiles], and all the heathen shall see My judgment that I have executed, and My hand that I have laid upon them. So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward." (Ezekiel 39:21-22)

- Regather and save Your People, Mighty God. (Jeremiah 31:7-9)

- Lord, we thank You for Your answer to Annapolis, for You said that in the midst of all the nations raging against You, that You laugh them to scorn and declare, "Yet have I set My king upon My holy hill of Zion." (Psalms 2:6; see verses 1-5)

- Father, release the Jews stuck in the Western nations while they still have a chance to come home with their possessions - let alone their lives.

- "Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, says the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven. Deliver yourself, O Zion, that dwells with the daughter of Babylon. For thus says the LORD of hosts; After the glory has He sent Me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that touches you touches the apple of His eye." (Zechariah 2:6-8)

- When the nations try to divide Your Land, in modern history Your answer has been a war which results in more territory for Israel and more Jewish people coming home. If that is Your plan today - have mercy on Israel and her enemies and keep Your watchmen sharp.

- Lord, since all Israel gets saved when all the nations come against Jerusalem and Judah (Zechariah 12:2- 3,9-10) , we plead with You to save all Israel today.

- "Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts." (Hebrews 4:7b; cp. 3:7,15)

- Lord, open wide the doors of the Interior Ministry to allow Your people to return.

- Deal with the Minister in charge of the Interior Ministry, Meir Sheetrit, who is making it much more difficult for Jews to immigrate. Either change his heart or change him.

- Give Israel a government that makes aliyah - immigration - it's top priority.

- Like this week's Torah portion, send angels on ahead of Jacob's descendents as they make their way home.

Possible Palestinian Retaliation

Like spoiled children, the Palestinians and many other Arab nations have threatened much bloodshed the day after Annapolis, if they do not get everything that they want. And this has historically been the case. Please pray against this from happening and if it does, that Israel will know how to defend her children first.
