1. UNIFIL reportedly instructed to expand patrols in south Lebanon - Times of Israel

United Nations forces in southern Lebanon have been instructed to boost and expand their patrols recently to new areas in a bid to better monitor Hezbollah weaponry, Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar reported Friday.

The report by the newspaper, which has ties to the Iran-backed terror group, had no outside confirmation. Al-Akhbar claimed the recent weeks have seen UNIFIL peacekeepers receive instructions "to add new routes to their patrols and to enter areas they had not previously entered south of the Litani [river] under the pretext of full implementation of the Resolution 1701," which ended the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah. 2. AG gives Netanyahu deadline for pre-indictment hearing - Israel National News

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit told Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's lawyers on Sunday that if they wish to hold a pre-indictment hearing for Netanyahu regarding the investigative files pertaining to his cases, they must schedule it before May 10, 2019. The hearing must take place before July 10, 2019.

Mandelblit made it clear to the lawyers that he would not delay the pre-indictment hearing until the issue of their fees was settled. "The issue of the fees is not our concern. Therefore, it does not justify any delay in transferring the core investigative materials to the prime minister or to his representatives, and in any event, this does not affect the date of the hearing," the attorney general's office said in a statement.

Two months ago, Netanyahu's lawyers asked not to collect the investigative files of the cases related to the prime minister until after the elections due to fear of leaks of the investigative files to the media, which, according to them, would affect the electorate.

In their appeal, the defense attorneys emphasized that this was a "brief delay of only 40 days in handing over the files." Mandelblit agreed to delay the delivery of the files and they have been available at the offices of the State Attorney's Office for Taxation and Economics in Tel Aviv from April 10 but so far there has been no request from Netanyahu's lawyers to collect the files. 3. Netanyahu, Kahlon Worry After Palestinian Authority Returns Israel's Secret Transfer of Millions of Shekels - Jewish Press

The State of Israel secretly transferred hundreds of millions of shekels to the coffers of the Palestinian Authority in order to prevent the collapse of the entity. But the PA reversed the transaction and returned the money, according to Israel's Hebrew-language Kann public broadcasting network.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an urgent meeting Sunday with outgoing Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon to discuss the crashing PA economy, according to the report.

During their meeting, government officials discussed their increasing concern that the Palestinian Authority might collapse entirely due to PA leader Mahmoud Abbas' stubborn refusal to accept the tax revenues that were collected on behalf of the entity - which makes up more than half of its monthly budget - albeit minus the amount the PA had paid to terrorist prisoners in Israel, and the families of those killed while trying to murder Israelis, known as the Palestinian Authority's "pay to slay" policy. 4. Israel's Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Herald Participation in Global Expo in Dubai - Algemeiner

Israel is set to take part in a major global event in Dubai next year in another sign of warming relations between the Jewish state and the Gulf Arab countries.

The event, Expo 2020 Dubai, describes itself as the largest event of its type ever held in the Arab world, with 190 countries participating. It proclaims its values are "inclusion, tolerance, and cooperation."

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement, "Expos are global gatherings where people from around the world come together to celebrate ingenuity and apply it to shared challenges. We are excited to be a part of that common endeavor." (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we pray for all the people involved in planning or taking part in this Expo 2020 in Dubai. We ask that You reveal agendas or roots of any false unity movement that is humanistic in nature. We ask instead, Father, that You would instill Your love and Your purpose into their hearts. That as all participants take part they would have revelation of the righteous love of Yeshua. We pray for divine revelation and wisdom. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

5. Women in combat: IDF soldiers on guard over Passover - Jerusalem Post

They are fearless. They are strong. They are women who serve in some of the toughest combat units in the IDF.

This group of women dedicated their lives to serving their country, to protecting their country come rain or shine, war or peace, and that dedication remains unaffected by Jewish holidays and special occasions. These women serve in the IDF combat units, and they are spending their Passover on base or on guard, keeping the country and its citizens secure during this unique time for the Jewish people.

Speaking to the Magazine, Sgt. Avia (first names only), who is in an Artillery Unit, said that this is her first Jewish holiday on base, and despite not being with her family this year, she's excited. "The IDF put a lot of effort and work into the holiday to make it special for us," she said. "It was like Shabbat. There was a festive meal and the rabbi was there to go through the story of Passover and the Haggadah together with us." (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we thank You for the women who are serving and protecting the land and people of Israel. We ask You to bless them for their service and sacrifice. We also lift up the entire IDF and ask that You would give them peace, strength, and renewed minds and bodies to endure all that lies before them. We pray in the name of Yeshua, amen.

The Daily Brief

1. Trump: 'Faith and Family, Not Government and Bureaucracy, Are the Center of American Life' - CNS News

Americans worship God, not government, President Donald Trump said Friday in an address to the National Rifle Association (NRA). "We know that faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, are the center of American life. Above all else, we know this: in America, we don't worship government; we worship God." President Trump also listed several principles Americans support. "We believe in the rule of law and we will always protect and defend the constitution of the United States. There are some people that are running right now, I don't think that have that number one on their list." "We believe in the wisdom of our founders. We believe in freedom and liberty and the right to keep and bear arms. Every day of my administration, we are taking power out of Washington, D.C. and returning it to the American people, where it belongs." (Read more)

- O righteous Father, how thankful we are as Americans to have President Trump to lead us as a nation to honor God, and pray for righteousness as the standard for the citizens of our country. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"And whatsoever you shall ask in Jesus Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask anything in My Name I will do it." (John 14:13-14)

2. Trump Plans to Declassify Russia Probe Docs "and Much More" - Bongino.com

In an interview last night with Fox News' Sean Hannity, President Trump said he is planning to declassify documents from the Russia investigation and "much more." The President said he is "glad" he waited to declassify the documents after he originally had planned to release portions of the FISA application used to spy on Trump campaign volunteer, Carter Page back in September. He reversed course after speaking with the Department of Justice. "I thought that maybe they would obstruct if I did it early, and I think I was right," he said to Hannity. "Everything's going to be declassified and more, much more than what you just mentioned," Trump told Hannity in his first on-camera interview since the release of the special counsel's Russia report. (Read more)

- O righteous Father, we thank You for moving in the life of President Trump to hear the Word of the Lord in dealing with the Russian report. Protect President Trump from all harm. We pray in Jesus' Name.

- "But the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:26)

3. Strzok-Page texts suggested using post-election briefing to gather information on Trump team - Fox News

Text messages between former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page indicate they discussed using briefings to the Trump team after the 2016 election to identify people they could "develop for potential relationships," track lines of questioning and "assess" changes in "demeanor" - language one GOP lawmaker called "more evidence" of irregular conduct in the original Russia probe.

Fox News has learned the texts, initially released in 2018 by a Senate committee, are under renewed scrutiny, with GOP Sens. Chuck Grassley and Homeland Security Committee chair Ron Johnson sending a letter Thursday night to Attorney General Bill Barr pushing for more information on the matter. "Any improper FBI surveillance activities that were conducted before or after the 2016 election must be brought to light and properly addressed," the senators wrote.

President Trump, speaking to Fox News' "Hannity" Thursday night, responded to this report by unloading on Strzok and Page. "They were trying to infiltrate the administration," Trump told Sean Hannity. "Really, it's a coup. It's spying. It's hard to believe in this country we would have had that." (Read more)

- O righteous Father, we ask that all that is hidden regarding improper FBI surveillance activities that were conducted before or after the 2016 section be exposed, along with the evil underpinnings of the Clintons, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed." (Isaiah 10:1)

4. Rosenstein slams Obama administration for choosing 'not to publicize full story' of Russia hacking - Fox News

Rosenstein, the U.S. deputy attorney general who supervised the Mueller investigation, spoke out publically for the first time since the report was released, criticizing the Obama administration's real-time reaction to Russian hacking and its decision "not publicize the full story" to the American people.

Rosenstein, who was speaking in New York at the Public Servants Dinner of the Armenian Bar Association, defended his handling of the probe and criticized former officials in the process. He also called out former FBI Director James Comey for alerting Congress about the investigation into Russian collusion at the height of the 2016 presidential campaign.

"The FBI disclosed classified evidence about the investigation to ranking legislators and their staffers," he said. "Someone selectively leaked details to the news media. The FBI director [Comey] announced at a congressional hearing that there was a counterintelligence investigation that might result in criminal charges. Then the former FBI director alleged that the president pressured him to close the investigation, and the president denied that the conversation occurred. (Read more)

- O righteous Father, we pray that You will shake out every evil committed by the Obama administration and their supporters of malfeasance against President Trump. Shut down all avenues of deep deception and expose the full story of the Russia hacking. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Woe unto them who seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the day, and they say, Who sees us? and who knows us?" (Isaiah 29:15)

5. How the Obama White House engaged Ukraine to give Russia collusion narrative an early boost - The Hill

The January 2016 gathering, confirmed by multiple participants and contemporaneous memos, brought some of Ukraine's top corruption prosecutors and investigators face to face with members of former President Obama's National Security Council (NSC), FBI, State Department and Department of Justice (DOJ).

Ukrainian participants said it didn't take long - during the meetings and afterward - to realize the Americans' objectives included two politically hot investigations: one that touched Vice President Joe Biden's family and one that involved a lobbying firm linked closely to then-candidate Trump. That makes the January 2016 meeting one of the earliest documented efforts to build the now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion narrative and one of the first to involve the Obama administration's intervention.

Telizhenko said U.S. officials volunteered during the meetings that they had an interest in reviving a closed investigation into payments to U.S. figures from Ukraine's Russia-backed Party of Regions. That 2014 investigation was led by the FBI and focused heavily on GOP lobbyist Paul Manafort, whose firm long had been tied to Trump through his partner and Trump pal, Roger Stone. "It was definitely the case that led to the charges against Manafort and the leak to U.S. media during the 2016 election," he said. (Read more)

- O righteous Father, we ask that all the collusion tactics and results be abolished and trashed as deceitful and malicious works of darkness and destruction by Obama. Support President Trump, Lord God, and sever the evil that wars against him. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." (John 3:20)

6. Black Hawk Down veterans blast Ilhan Omar for 'smearing' US troops who died 'to help her people' - Washington Examiner

Veterans of the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu have slammed Rep. Ilhan Omar's, D-Minn., for accusing them of killing "thousands" of Somalis and ignoring the fact they were engaged in a United Nations mission designed to protect civilians from a murderous warlord following a devastating famine and civil war.

Danny McKnight, who was the Ranger colonel who commanded U.S. troops, and Kyle Lamb, who was a Delta Force operator, said they were in Somalia in part to protect the Majerteen, Omar's tribe, from the ruthless warlord Mohammed Farah Aidid and his powerful Habar Gidir clan.

"In helping her tribe, we had to eliminate those who were bad," Lamb told the Washington Examiner. "She should be thankful we were there to help her people." McKnight, who was shot in the neck and arm, told the Washington Examiner: "I really am offended, truly offended, by her comment and her thought that thousands were killed by us. Not true. Not true at all." (Read more)

- O righteous Father: We ask that You defend from heaven all Black Hawk Down veterans and may they receive protection and deliverance from all the lies spoken by Ilhan Omar. Close the mouth of the enemy here, and take him out of office and public speaking, in support of the mercy shown by these veterans. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

7. Trump admin gets pro-abortion language removed from UN anti-rape resolution - LifeSiteNews

America remains "strongly committed to preventing conflict-related sexual violence and holding responsible persons accountable" and agrees "more needs to be done to deter the recurrence of such crimes and assist survivors," the cable said, but "cannot accept unamended explicit, or implicit, references to 'sexual and reproductive health'" because "we do not support or promote abortion."

The US threat to veto the resolution succeeded in getting the language removed from the final resolution Tuesday, US News reports. The finalized text "ended up in a place that is closer in line with the White House's priorities," an administration aide said.

The Trump administration has consistently worked to defend life and oppose abortion at the UN, from resisting pro-abortion agenda items and reducing foreign abortion funding to affirming that abortion isn't a human right and promoting abstinence education. (Read more)

- O righteous Father, we ask that You open wide the doors of opportunity to promote abstinence education, which will cut back tremendously the thoughts and actions for abortion. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from My face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes." (Jeremiah 16:17)

8. In Jones Act fight, Trump needs to choose America's economy over Washington cronies - Washington Examiner

President Trump's top economic advisers, Larry Kudlow and Peter Navarro, are embroiled in a battle over the outdated crony capitalist Jones Act. The Jones Act is a century-old law that restricts American companies who want to ship stuff to American buyers. All such shipments must happen on U.S.-flagged ships, the Jones Act demands.

This law obviously drives up the price American buyers pay for any U.S. goods transported by ship. It also cuts into the profits of the U.S. sellers. Sometimes, the Jones Act forces U.S. companies to buy from foreign companies, because there are simply no U.S. ships available for the job, thus making it effectively illegal to buy U.S. goods.

In the coming days, Trump will hear both sides. One side will be arguing for old regulations that just help the well-connected. The other side will be arguing for less regulation and making it easier for American companies to buy American stuff. (Read more)

- O righteous Father, we ask that You guide President Trump to see and understand this issue and there be nothing hidden or disguised to lead him aside from making an excellent judgment and voicing God's will. We trust and pray in Jesus' Name.

- "The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord." (Proverbs 16:1)

9. Massachusetts judge proves sanctuary cities are intended to thwart immigration law - Washington Examiner

The federal government has charged Judge Shelley Joseph with conspiracy and obstruction in relation to an April 2018 incident, wherein she is accused of setting an illegal immigrant drug defendant free in the middle of his hearing, after she was alerted that an ICE agent was at the courthouse waiting to arrest him.

According to the indictment, upon hearing about the agent, Joseph huddled with the immigrant's attorney and said, "ICE is gonna get him?" and "I'm not gonna allow them to come in here." She then let the immigrant escape through a back door. What Joseph did (allegedly) isn't a matter of declining to cooperate with immigration authorities. It's a matter of actively opposing law enforcement. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You that this wicked judge was caught in this act of willful disobedience to the law of the land. We ask that she be found guilty and judgment rendered against her action to the fullest extent of the law. May the outcome of her actions be an example to any other judges who are considering violating the ICE regulations. Amen.

- "For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open." (Mark 4:22)

10. Blue State Blues: Republicans Cannot Win If 'Ballot Harvesting' Remains Legal - Breitbart

California Republicans are determined to take back the four congressional seats they lost in Orange County in 2018, among the seven the party lost statewide. They have some political momentum, unfortunately, the tactic of "ballot harvesting," introduced last November, has made it impossible for Republicans ever to win again.

"Ballot harvesting" involves using a third party, such as a well-trained political activist, to collect mail-in ballots on behalf of other voters and deliver them to the polls.

There is no vetting of ballot harvesters, and no limit to how many ballots they can deliver. The tactic was legalized by then-Gov. Jerry Brown in 2016, over GOP objections. Hundreds of thousands of ballots were dropped off at polling places in 2018, making a difference in key races.

The courts are the only option - and the liberal Ninth Circuit is presiding over a case in which Democrats are challenging an Arizona law banning the tactic. If Republicans are serious about competing in Orange County, among other places, they need to act with urgency. The U.S. Department of Justice should intervene in the Arizona case, and sue California for violating the voting rights of its citizens. (Read more)

- Lord God, no matter how bleak this situation looks, we know we serve a mighty God for whom nothing will be impossible. We ask that this practice of "ballot harvesting" will be overruled, and relegated to the dustbin of history. In Your Name we pray, amen.

- "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." (Jeremiah 32:17)

Stress, anger and worry

Gallup recently conducted its annual poll of the emotional state of people worldwide and found that Americans were more likely to be stressed and worried than much of the world. The poll indicated that the 55% of Americans who experienced stress was one of the highest rates out of the 143 countries studied and that it beat the global average by a full 20 percentage points. Gallup also points out that 45% of Americans worried a lot and 22% said they "felt anger a lot." Among the most angry countries in the world, Gallup reports, are also Islamic-Iraq, Iran, the Palestinian Territories, Morocco, Turkey, Niger, Chad, Libya, and Pakistan. There's a lot of stress, worry and anger in the world-all things we must resist.

Stress, anger and worry are not of the Lord. And, yes, I know full well that they hit us every day full force. This is a matter of focusing on the good and controlling what you can control. The rest will take care of itself. When challenges present themselves, take a breath. Focus on the task at hand. Don't take it personal or get over emotional about it. Then start working on those things that you can impact. It's a matter of renewing your mind and understanding who you are and why you are on this earth. As the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
The rest of the world can be stressed, angry and worried. I find it so interesting that Islamic areas of the world are more angry than other cultures. If they were following the one true God, perhaps not only the words of the Holy Scriptures would give them peace, but also the Holy Spirit would guide them personally to not be so angry. We in America have so much for which to be thankful. Our worst living conditions are better than most of the world. But I have seen brothers and sisters in Africa who face tremendous challenges each day, but they are not angry-they have the joy of the Lord and they practice the words of Christ by allowing the morrow to take thought for the things of itself. Have a blessed, and stress/anger/worry-free day today. Practice it. Renew your mind. Find the joy of the Lord and embrace it!

Have a blessed and powerful day,

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God."
