2. G-20 Should Seek Global Currency 'Harmony,' Larosiere Says - Bloomberg

Leaders of Group of 20 nations must build a "more harmonized" global currency system to prevent the risk of competitive devaluations, said Jacques de Larosiere, author of a European report into the roots of the financial crisis.

A. New threats from an old nemesis of Nepal's Christians

A militant underground group that once forced hundreds of government officials into resigning is now threatening Christian clergy with violence if they do not give in to its extortion demands.

- Father, we call forth Your unlimited power to put an end to this militant underground group who has wielded its arm of force over Nepal's government and now bringing threats to Christian clergy. Defeat this evil voice and stir up mass confusion within its camp that it fall under the mighty hand of God. Release the Christians to worship the Lord with freedom and enable them to spread the truth of the gospel across all of Nepal. In Jesus Name.

-"The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith He has girded Himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved." (Psalm 93:1)

4. Eight Churches Shut Down in Syria - Worthy News

At least eight evangelical churches in northern Syria has been closed down by the government, a Washington-based Christian human rights group said.

Empower the believers in Syria to hold to the hand of the Lord and continue to move forth with a new-found spiritual strength in their souls. Raise them up, Father. We speak multiplication upon the move of God in Syria that no power on earth can stand against them. Send angels to fight for these who name the name of Jesus. In Jesus Name.

- "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us." (Romans 8:37)

5. UN appoints Malaysian astrophysicist as space ambassador for ET contact - Asian Tribune

The United Nations, tackling head-on the problem of what to do if an Extra Terrestrial alien says "take me to your leader", and poised to designate a specific individual for the task, has selected an obscure Malaysian astrophysicist who is head of its little-known UN Office for Outer Space Affairs.

(Unoosa) in Vienna, charged with implementing the United Nation's outer space-related policies.

- Father, this is a day where men and organizations are walking after their own devices and everyone doing the imagination of their evil hearts, walking after other gods to serve and worship them, and have refused to obey the Lord God of heaven. They have forsaken the One who would have given them life and wholeness. Oh God, bring their evil works to nothingness, rendering their time and efforts useless and without effect. In Jesus Name.

- And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9)Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11) And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.12)That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:8-12)

6. Jewish group falls from favor at White House - Washington Times

The White House appears to be distancing itself from the liberal advocacy group J Street that it once embraced as its envoy to the U.S. Jewish community after disclosures that nearly half the group's funding for 2008 came from a single Hong Kong donor.

- Lord, we pray favor for a Jewish Advocacy group that is conservative, righteous, and has knowledge of the importance of Israel to America. We are thankful that a liberal group has been distanced, but ask for a better alternative.

- "Save, Lord, let the king hear us when we call." ( Psalm 20:9)

7. Obama Signs $30B Small Business Lending Bill - ABC News

- Lord, as the government continues to create dependence on itself rather than stimulate independent growth, we pray for Your mercy over the debt that continues to escalate. Only You can bring the nation out of fiscal irresponsibility into wise policies.

- "Restore, I pray you, to them this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses." (Nehemiah 5:11a)

The Daily Brief

1. Mojave Desert Cross - Office of Congressman Lewis

H.Res.1378, which condemns the theft of the cross that was serving as a WWI Memorial in the Mojave Desert, passed the House by voice vote today. Congressman Lewis' statement following passage of the resolution is here.

- God, we look up to heaven and thank Almighty God for this great victory, which calls for this cross to be returned to its original place in the Mojave Desert. It honors all WWI veterans for their fight to protect and defend Americans and because of them we have reaped the great benefits of freedom. Bless all who have fought to restore this cross to its rightful place. In Jesus Name.

- "Remove not the ancient landmark, which your fathers have set." (Proverbs 22:28)

2. Amendment to Title VI of Civil Rights Act. - Office of Congressman Sherman

Cong. Sherman worked with Sen. Specter to introduce H.R. 6216, which amends Section 601 of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination based on religion in schools. Cong. Sherman issued a press release which can be found here. One section of the statement to note: "We need to close the loop-hole that allows students to be harassed and threatened because of their religion. The law specifically forbids discrimination on the basis of religion in virtually every other area, including employment and housing, and it's about time it protects our students as well. This legislation will give the Department of Education clear jurisdiction over all incidents involving harassment on the basis of religion and will assure all of our students are equally protected."

- Father God, we pray Your will be done regarding the passage of this important bill that forbids discrimination on the basis of religion. Let there be religious freedom in our schools and protection for the students. God, bind all aggressive spirits that would use religion as a tool for militancy. In Jesus Name.

- "O bless our God, you people; and make a voice of His praise to be heard: which holds our soul in life, and suffers not our feet to be moved." (Psalm 66:8-9)

4. "So Help Me God" - Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Yesterday, Michael Newdow filed a petition for writ of certiorari, asking the Supreme Court to hear Newdow v. Roberts, in which he challenges the inclusion of the words "so help me God' in presidential inaugurations. The case was originally filed in December 2008 to prevent addition of the phrase "so help me God" to the presidential oath and also to prevent the inclusion of prayers in the invocation and benediction of Obama's inauguration, as well as the 2013 and 2017 ceremonies. The district court held that the plaintiffs lacked standing to pursue such cases, and this decision was later affirmed by a three-judge panel in May of 2010.

- God, we call for holy power from heaven to protect the inclusion of "so help me God" and prayers to continue to stand status quo in the presidential inaugurations. Remove the adversarial power of men and render it useless over this issue. In Jesus Name.

- "God rules by His power forever; His eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves." (Psalm 66:7)

5. Plenty of Unfinished Business Awaits Congress in Lame Duck Session - Fox News

Democrats are hoping to squeeze debate on numerous bills into their lame duck session after the Nov. 2 midterm elections, even though the elections could shift the balance of power to Republicans once the next Congress convenes.

But it won't be easy for the Democrats to advance their agenda as time runs out, given the slow deliberations of the Senate and the possibility that Republicans will immediately gain more seats in that chamber if they win special elections in West Virginia, Delaware and Illinois.

- Lord, we ask victory for those candidates who stand for a moral America, and follow Your laws and precepts. Give the voters wisdom and discernment in the upcoming elections.

- When one rules over men righteously, ruling in the fear of God,4) He dawns on them like the morning light when the sun rises on a cloudless morning, when the tender grass springs out of the earth through clear shining after rain. (11 Samuel 23:3,4)

6. Inhofe Says EPA's New Boiler Rule Could Kill Nearly 800,000 Manufacturing Jobs - Fox News

The top Republican on a Senate environmental panel released a scathing report Tuesday that he contends shows that the Environmental Protection Agency's new proposed rule on cleaning up boilers nationwide could devastate America's manufacturing base and imperil hundreds of thousands of jobs without providing any real public health or environmental benefits.

- Lord, let wisdom be released to the leadership of our nation and its industrial community to allow both good stewardship of the environment and healthy growth.

- "Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts; and in the hidden part You shall make me know wisdom." (Psalm 51:6)

7. Ruling allows stem cell research to continue during appeal - CNN

An appeals court has permanently lifted an injunction imposed by a federal judge, thereby allowing federally funded embryonic stem-cell research to continue while the Obama administration appeals the judge's original ruling against use of public funds in such research.

- Pray for a quick hearing before the Supreme Court, and for a ruling that will "permanently" remove public funds from embryonic stem cell research.

- "Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness: according to the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out my transgressions." (Psalm 51:1)

8. 'Mumbai-Style' Terror Attack in Europe Foiled - Fox News

A commando-style terror plot that allegedly called for simultaneous attacks in multiple European cities has been disrupted, a senior U.S. intelligence official told Fox News late Tuesday, after the CIA launched a barrage of drone strikes in Pakistan to help thwart the plot.

The plan allegedly included attacks on hotels frequented by Western tourists in London, as well as cities in France and Germany, and was in an "advanced but not imminent stage," Sky News reported. The plotters were purportedly of Pakistani or Algerian origin and have been trained in Pakistan's tribal areas.

- Lord, we praise You for thwarting yet another terrorist attack! We ask that You continue to protect both America and our allies against those who would destroy us.

- "Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity." (Psalm 64:2)

The Daily Jot

The prophetic consequences of false religion and religious adultery

Ever since an August poll saying that 18 percent of Americans believe the man who occupies the Oval Office is a Muslim, the president has been touting his religion. That same poll indicated that only 34% believed that he is a Christian. A McClatchy article rightly points out that until that poll, he rarely attended church, rarely spoke about faith, and after the poll, he gathered up his family and visited a church for the first time in five months. McClatchy reports that White House aides say there is no deliberate strategy being employed to counter the impression that the president is a Muslim, but observers maintain that something is afoot.

As a former political consultant, what is afoot is the pending doom of November 2--the elections. And despite all the attempts to favor Islam by this White House, the harsh reality is sinking in that America's national identity is still Christian. In a June 2007 speech, the senator said, "Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation. At least not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, and a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers." As president, he repeated the theme during a June 4, 2009 news conference in Turkey, saying, "One of the great strengths of the United States is ...we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation."

Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." This is such an obvious example of pandering. The polls indicate Americans will no longer accept that their president favors Islam and rejects Christian principles. So like any shrewd politician, the president sees the handwriting on the wall and begins a campaign to convince all the sheep that he is really a man of God. Jesus also said in Matthew 7:21, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven." In verse 23, He continues, "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Those who profess Christianity in name, yet do not do the will of the Father have their own reward. Stealing money, coveting, spilling innocent blood, denying God in the public square, promoting ungodly acts--while many of these people, like the president, may not be directly committing the iniquity, they are administering policies that allow, foster, implement iniquity. And if they are in a position of leadership, whether over a nation or a church, there are consequences for all who they oversee. When you hear the president consistently and intentionally omitting the words "endowed by our Creator" in conjunction with quoting the Declaration of Independence on inalienable rights, is it no coincidence that terror threats increase?

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

" Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth." (Rev. 3:10)

The Daily Brief

1. Computer Virus Hits 30,000 Iranian Classified Industrial Units - DebkaFile

Disables Iranian Nuke Sites! Mahmoud Alyaee, secretary-general of Iran's industrial computer servers, including its nuclear facilities control systems, confirmed Saturday, Sept. 25, that 30,000 computers belonging to classified industrial units had been infected and disabled by the malicious Stuxnet virus. This followed DEBKAfile's exclusive report Thursday, Sept. 23, from its Washington and defense sources that a clandestine cyber war is being fought against Iran by the United States with elite cyber war units established by Israel. Stuxnet is believed to be the most destructive virus ever devised for attacking major industrial complexes, reactors and infrastructure.

Not only has it taken control of automatic industrial systems, but has raided them for classified information and transferred the data abroad. This was the first time an Iranian official has explained how the United States and Israel intelligence agencies have been able to keep pace step by step of progress made in Iran's nuclear program. The head of the Pentagon's cyber war department, Vice Adm. Bernard McCullough said Thursday, Sept. 22, that Stuxnet had capabilities never seen before. In a briefing to the Armed Forces Committee of US Congress, he testified that it was regarded as the most advanced and sophisticated piece of Malware to date.

• Heavenly Father, thank you for answering our prayers to protect Israel. Let all Iran's computers be filled with calamities. We pray for a super-natural event to take place to destroy Iran's facilities. We ask that you remove the ones who are against Israel and replace them with people who support us. Restrain and silence the ones who are giving away our military secrets. Let not our enemies know our plans.

"And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel," says the Lord God, "that My fury will show in My face. (Ezekiel 38:18)

2. Analysis: Could Iran retaliate for apparent cyber attack? - Reuters

Security experts say they believe the release of the Stuxnet computer worm may have been a state-backed attack on Iran's nuclear program, most likely originating in the United States or Israel. But they say the truth may never be known.

Some analysts suggest Iran might like to retaliate with a cyber attack against Israel or the West -- although there are question marks over its capability to do so.

"I don't think we can expect much in the way of retaliatory cyber attacks," said regional analyst Jessica Ashooh. "The Iranians simply don't have the technical capacity to do anything similar to properly protected systems -- as evidenced by the very hard time they are having controlling and quarantining this attack."

• Lord, we pray protection over Israel and the U.S. regarding retaliatory cyber attacks from Iran. We pray for continued methods on discovering Iran's nuclear plans.

Earnestly remember how the enemy has scoffed, O Lord, and reproached You. (Psalm 74:18)

3. U.S. Seeks Ways to Wiretap the Internet - Washington Post

The Obama administration is planning to seek legislation that would require social networking companies and voice-over-Internet service providers to adapt their technology so law enforcement agents can monitor users' communications during criminal and terrorism investigations. But the initiative has also revived a more than 15-year-old debate over the proper balance between national security and personal privacy as well as what industry can reasonably be asked to do without stifling innovation.

• Lord, as we are becoming more advanced in our technologies, we pray that godly, scrupulous people will be in the positions of authority to make these decisions ethically. We pray that these programs and technologies will never be used against your people.

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. (Proverbs 4: 7, 8)

4. Boehner Presses Pelosi for Vote on Full Extension of Bush-Era Tax Cuts - ABC News

Pelosi has signaled that the House could adjourn as early as the end of this week, timed with the end of the fiscal year Thursday, September 30. The House is not expected to take up the tax cuts issue before adjournment, which is officially still scheduled for October 8th. The Senate announced last Thursday it will wait until the lame duck session after the November 2nd election to consider what to do about the tax cuts, which are set to expire January 1, 2011.

• Lord, we pray the tax cuts will be passed with many Democrats joining the Republicans to restore the entire Bush tax cuts for all citizens. Let them work quickly to pass these cuts before their recess.

The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of wisdom. The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:21-22)

5. Banks Keep Failing, No End in Sight - Wall Street Journal

The largest number of bank failures in nearly 20 years has eliminated jobs, accelerated a drought in lending and left the industry's survivors with more power to squeeze customers.

"When we step back and look at this financial disaster 10 years from now, the destruction of capital in our economy as a result of what we've endured will be the single greatest lasting impact on recovery and how the economy performs in the future," says Howard Headlee, president of the Utah Bankers Association.

• Lord, a nation cannot prosper whose leaders do not follow you. We repent of placing these leaders in places of authority, and ask you restore to us righteous leaders who serve you and acknowledge you in all their ways.

Now the Lord has brought it, and has done just as He said. Because your people have sinned against the Lord, and not obeyed His voice, therefore this thing has come upon you. (Jeremiah 40:3)

6. US: Cleric Lawsuit Would Reveal State Secrets - Fox News

The White House asked a federal judge early Saturday to dismiss a lawsuit filed on behalf of a U.S.-born radical cleric, saying the case would reveal state secrets. The Justice Department argued Saturday that a trial would require the United States to disclose highly-sensitive security information. The lawsuit seeks to prevent the U.S. government from targeting cleric Anwar al-Awlaki for assassination.

Civil liberties groups filed the lawsuit on behalf of the cleric's father, in part, to force the U.S. government to reveal how it determines which citizens should be targeted for assassination abroad.

• Heavenly Father, when a citizen becomes an enemy of our nation, we pray you will give wisdom and discernment of measures that need to be followed. Give the courts discernment toward those who are truly enemies of our country.

He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. (Proverbs 2: 7, 8)

7. Confession Video: US Soldier Describes Thrill Kill of Innocent Afghans - ABC News

On the tape, obtained by ABC News, Morlock admits his role in the deaths of three Afghans but claims the plan was organized by his unit's sergeant, Calvin Gibbs, who is also charged with pre-meditated murder. The corporal said Gibbs gave orders to open fire on the civilian at the same time Gibbs threw a hand grenade at the victim.

"It's definitely not the right thing to do," Morlock told the investigators. "But I mean, when you got a squad leader bringing you into that, that type of real, that mindset, and he believes that you're on board with that, there's definitely no way you wanted him to think otherwise."

• Lord, we pray protection over our men and women to stand the strain of the pressures of war. Remove those who would be guilty of crimes such as this, and help identify those who need help. Bless our military and give them protection and blessings for themselves and their families.

Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot. (Proverbs 10:6, 7)

8. Dem Whip: GOP Majority Will Issue Birther Subpoenas - The Hill

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) warned Republicans will investigate President Obama's birthplace if they take over Congress. Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrat in the House, said Republicans will grind the government to a halt by issuing subpoenas against the Obama administration over a number of issues if they take power. He predicted that "gridlock" in Congress would "define" Obama's first term if Republicans win the House, but expressed confidence his party would prevail.

• Lord we pray that the elections will be about issues and what the Obama Presidency has done in the first few years and not about other subjects. Let people not be distracted; but focused on how to reverse what has been done.

So I sent messengers to them, saying, "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?" (Nehemiah 6:3)

The Daily Jot

Truth: Farrakhan, Ahmadinejad, Black Panthers and the White House

The man who occupies the Oval Office showed the Iranian world just how weak and pensive he is in responding to Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's remarks at the United Nations. On a Persian-language BBC satellite channel, the US president characterized Ahmadinejad's remarks by saying, "It was offensive. It was hateful. And particularly for him to make the statement here in Manhattan, just a little north of ground zero, where families lost their loved ones - people of all faiths, all ethnicities, who see this as the seminal tragedy of this generation - for him to make a statement like that was inexcusable." Hardly strong words by the president with even less action.

"Offensive," "hateful," "inexcusable." Those are very nice words describing a madman who wants all the Jews in Israel exterminated, calls America "the great satan," and demands for investigations as to whether the Holocaust ever occurred. The video of the president when he was answering the question about Ahmadinejad's claim that the US government orchestrated the 9/11 terrorist attacks was typical--a professor-type approach giving the impression that his feelings were hurt by what Ahmadinejad had to say. To the terrorist world, this response had to be considered an indicator of weakness and a lack of will to do anything beyond sanctions to stand up for a free America.

He reiterated that his administration offered to "change the dynamic that has been in place since 1979", meaning he offered talks with Ahmadinejad, but that the Iranian regime "has been unwilling to change its orientation." Yet one might consider it strange that Ahmadinejad met with Louis Farrakahn and representatives of the New Black Panther Party. Farrakahn was a friend of the US president's pastor and the New Black Panther Party leadership recently had voter intimidation charges dropped against them by the president's political appointees at the Justice Department. This begs the question as to whether Farrakahn and the New Black Panthers were emissaries of the White House to Ahmandinejad.

If the president truly finds Ahmadinejad offensive and hateful, and he knows that Ahmadinejad is sponsoring terrorism around the world, why then is Ahmadinejad allowed to come onto American soil, cast insults at the American people, and meet with leaders of anti-American factions with impunity? Why aren't Ahmadinejad, Farrakahn and the New Black Panthers arrested and tried for the laws they have broken? Proverbs 14:34 says, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." The president won't touch Ahmadinejad, the Black Panthers, or Farrakahn, but he has filed a complaint at the UN that Arizona is violating human rights with its border security law.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

The Daily Brief - Monday, September 27, 2010

"Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth." (Rev. 3:10)

The Daily Brief

1. Global Abortion-Expansion Bill Fast-tracked in House - Citizen Link

Both chambers of the U.S. Congress plan to take up this week what purports to be an innocent bill to help women around the world. Unfortunately, the proposed International Violence Against Women Act (I-VAWA) also would promote worldwide access to abortion services and export a hostile, anti-family, pro-gay agenda on nations, by using it as a bargaining tool.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee will likely try to take up their version of the measure (HR 4594) on Wednesday during a markup hearing. The Democrat-controlled committee could try to slip-in the billion-dollar abortion program and get it passed without a recorded vote -- a preferred scenario before any election. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will also review its version of the bill (S. 2982) on Wednesday. Read more.

- Last week, we featured this bill in a positive perspective, asking prayer for its passage. Tonight, we ask the opposite. Offer praise for the careful research done by our good friends at Citizenlink, and begin now to exert the force of intercession that this bill, and its companion version in the Senate, die this year.

- "This far and no further, and here shall your proud waves stop!" (Job 38:11)

2. Update on Mojave Desert Cross Case - Liberty Institute

On April 28th of this year, the Supreme Court heard the case of Salazar v. Buono, and remanded the case to the District Court for further review. Today, Liberty Institute filed a motion to intervene in the case on behalf of the VFW Department of California and VFW Post 385. On June 14, a coalition of veterans, including VFW, The American Legion, and Military Order of the Purple Heart, sent a letter to Obama asking him to help put the vandalized memorial back in its rightful place. After the Supreme Court's decision, the cross was stolen and the National Park Service has refused to allow a replacement to be put up.

BREAKING NEWS: - CHPP

Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-CA) has introduced a resolution, H. Res. 1378, on the Mojave Cross situation, which will be debated tomorrow, with a vote likely on Wednesday. H..Res. 1378 states: "Resolved, That the House of Representatives--

(1) condemns the illegal removal of the Mojave Cross memorial by vandals as a repulsive act that is an insult to the brave men and women who have served in the Armed Forces and who have given their lives to defend the country; and

(2) urges the National Park Service and Federal law enforcement to continue working with the Veterans of Foreign Wars to recover the Mojave Cross memorial." [To read the entire text of this bill, go here.]

-- PRAY FOR PASSAGE OF THIS RESOLUTION.

- The National Park Service (NPS) should be willing to protect the cross as a memorial to servicemen who died fighting for our country. Pray for those in charge at the NPS, for obviously a few people at the top don't understand and therefore think that a cross is only a symbol of Christianity, nothing more. The Establishment clause of the Bill of Rights does not allow for secularism. Praise the Lord for His moving on the minds of those who defend the presence of this cross on the Mojave Desert.

"How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!" (Isaiah 52:7)

3. Right to Hire on the Basis of Religion - Institutional Religious Freedom Alliance

The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit recently upheld the right of a faith-based organization (World Vision) to hire employees on the basis of religion. Now, Americans United for Separation of Church and State and its allies have asked the court to reconsider its decision. Barry Lynn, Executive Director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State said, "Religious groups have the right to impose theological requirements on staff in privately funded positions, but when tax money enters the picture, that must change. No one should be denied a taxpayer-funded job for being the 'wrong' religion. That makes a mockery of our nation's commitment to eradicating discrimination."

For information and resources regarding the right of faith-based organization to hire on the basis of religion, even if they receive federal dollars, please visit the Institutional Religious Freedom Alliance's website.

• When the 9th Circuit Court makes a decision in favor of Christianity, there is a victory for which we must praise the Lord! Continue to pray for the judges of the 9th Circuit, as well as all federal judges, that they will express the wisdom of the Lord, not popular sentiment. Rev. Barry Lynn needs a dose of the Lord's presence, so that he presents himself as a man of God, not a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry." (2 Timothy 4: 5)

4. Feds Look to Local Forces for Terrorism Response - Courthouse News Service

The Department of Homeland Security is helping local forces prepare to respond to terrorist threats, which have changed substantially since the Sept. 11 attacks to include more homegrown terrorists and smaller, faster-developing plots, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Wednesday. "Homeland security in fact begins with hometown security," Napolitano said in a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing. Napolitano appeared before the committee with two other national security heads, FBI Director Robert Mueller and National Counterterrorism Center Director Michael Leiter, to report on their agencies' efforts to combat terrorism Read more.

• Secretary Napolitano issues good news, for every town does need to know and apply security measures. We know that terrorist cells are alive and well in many rural areas as in cities. Training camps are prevalent in rural areas. We must be alert to what is happening. But what does Secretary Napolitano mean by her statement? What are the details that the average American needs to know? Pray that she will provide some essential facts for hometown security. Continue to pray for the Lord's protection over your town and neighboring towns as well as the nation as a whole.

" I say you speak of having plans and power for war; but they are mere words. " (Isaiah 36:5)

5. Obama files U.N. human rights complaint against Arizona - ACLJ

Obama has launched a new offensive against Arizona's immigration law - this time at the United Nations (U.N.). He has filed an unprecedented report with the U.N. Human Rights Council, citing the Arizona immigration law as a ''human rights problem'' in this country -effectively handing over review of a domestic issue to some of the WORST HUMAN RIGHTS OFFENDERS IN THE WORLD. Those nations include: Libya, Cuba, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Ghana - nations with horrendous human rights violations themselves. Read more.

• Obama still doesn't understand that we are a sovereign nation and that states have rights accorded by our Constitution. Why would he be so unwise as to take any issue about Arizona, as well as any state, to the UN, which now has a horrible record in dealing with human rights? Did he speak with any American before opening his mouth at the UN? Pray that the Obama will begin to think as an American, that he will respect our Constitution, and that he will not run to the UN for "help" where it is not needed.

"The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly." (Proverbs 26: 22)

6. Kagan Presence to Be Felt by Her Absence in First Court Term - Bloomberg

Elena Kagan may make her mark in her first U.S. Supreme Court term less by her presence than by her absence. Kagan has disqualified herself in 20 of the 38 cases on the court's calendar because she took part in the litigation as U.S. solicitor general. The 20 include some top business cases: a fight over sanctions on employers for hiring illegal aliens, a clash between manufacturers and discount stores over the multibillion-dollar "gray market" in imports and disputes over consumer suits against automakers and drug companies.

In each case, Kagan's absence creates the prospect of an evenly divided court, an outcome that would leave the lower court ruling intact without setting a nationwide precedent, Bloomberg Businessweek reports in its Sept. 27 issue. The term starts Oct. 4. Read more.

• Praise the Lord that Justice Kagan has had the wisdom to disqualify herself from several cases. Ask the Lord to grant her His wisdom as she continues her work at the Supreme Court. Let her be deaf to her leftist leanings but focused on the right application of our Constitution. Ask for her to have a teachable spirit so she can be monitored/mentored by Justice Scalia.

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)

7. U.S. Supreme Court justice considers outlawing speech against radical Islam - CNSNews.com

Justice Breyer Suggests That Burning a Quran Could be Like Shouting 'Fire' in a Crowded Theatre--Thus Not Protected by 1st Amendment

Supreme Court Associate Justice Stephen Breyer said on Tuesday that globalization may change the way the First Amendment applies in the United States, and he suggested that Pastor Terry Jones' proposed Quran-burning may or may not be protected under the First Amendment. Read more.

• Has Justice Breyer made too many trips to Europe and is now interested in bringing our Constitution in line with international law? Although Pastor Jones of Florida was making an unwise decision about burning the Koran, the case seems a far cry from shouting "fire" in a theater. Pray that the Islamists cannot use our Constitution again to gain more influence in the USA. Pray that Pastor Jones will receive an infusion of wisdom from the Holy Spirit, for the Bible is powerful, not the Koran.

" A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings." (Psalm 112: 5-7a)

8. CIA runs 3,000-strong covert army to hunt down al-Qaida in Pakistan - (Press Trust of India)

America's CIA is running a 3,000-strong covert army to hunt down key leaders of Taliban and al-Qaida in not only Afghanistan but across the border in Pakistan. This heavily-armed irregular force manned entirely by Afghan personnel operates in small units called Counter- terrorism Pursuit Teams, the New York Times reported today quoting extracts from a new book 'Obama's wars' by journalist Bob Woodward. The stunning disclosures in the book which is making waves for laying bare the policy divisions and the personality clashes among the Obama advisors on the Afghan policy may complicate relations between Washington and Islamabad, the paper said. Read more.

• Should journalists reveal security secrets that our enemies ought not know? Pray that journalists will use extreme discretion in what they choose to expose publicly. Pray for self-monitoring. To understand that the White House is suffering divisions in its policies may be good for Americans to know, but covert troops working against the Taliban and jihadists probably should not be exposed. Lift up these troops for the Lord's protection.

"For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter." (Isaiah 34:2)

9. Mideast Talks in Turmoil Over Israeli Settlement - AP

The expiration of an Israeli moratorium on new construction in West Bank settlements threw fledgling Middle East peace talks into turmoil on Monday as Israel, the Palestinians and the U.S. scrambled to find a compromise that would keep the negotiations alive. Curbs on new construction in settlements that had been in place for the past 10 months expired at midnight and Israel showed no sign of a new willingness to compromise on the issue. Palestinians regard settlement as a major obstacle to peace and have repeatedly said they will quit peace talks if Israel did not extend its restrictions.

• Pray for peace in Israel, as the Palestinians think that they have the right to demand that Israel stop building settlements for its citizens. What happens if the "peace" talks stop? Was David overcome by the size and strength of Goliath? Is anyone telling the Palestinians that they should stop having children? To be happy with the land that they do have? Pray that this situation dies down like a tempest in a teacup. Pray that hatred for the Jews is replaced by a love for one's neighbor.

"Thou comest to me with a sword and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied." (1 Samuel 17:45)

Barak's comments came in an interview with the BBC aired on Sunday.

3. Israel must choose: Peace or continuation of settlements - Jerusalem Post

Sunday, September 26, 2010 - Election Day Prayer Vigil:

Praying Through 2 Chronicles 7:14

WEEK ONE

[This five-part series for an Election Day Prayer Vigil has been developed by Mary Fox Murphy, Founder and President, Christian Women's Outreach, in Stillwater, OK.

In lieu of offerings, Mary is simply asking that we share this prayer strategy with others in our own network of friends. Thank you, Mary!]

INTRODUCTION

Praying Through 2 Chronicles 7:14

By Mary Fox Murphy

In searching the depths of my heart and soul and seeking the Lord, I believe there may be a reason we are not victorious in our pursuit for spiritual change in this nation. I think we all stand right now LOOKING FOR TRUE HOPE AND CHANGE FOR THIS NATION. I sincerely ask you to pray about joining with me in this PRAYER VIGIL.

Blessings, Mary

PRAYER VIGIL:
SEPTEMBER 26 - OCTOBER 24, 2010

There are numerous prayer initiatives right now. Prayer leaders across the nation are asking you to PRAY FOR THE USA. One of those will be right for you. I am also proposing one to begin Sept. 26 and ending on Sunday, Oct. 24.

If you join with us for the next five weeks, I will send out PRAYER POINTS for each week. This will not be like most of those that are being suggested.

I contend that the Body of Christ must be well (in right standing with the Father) for God to HEAL OUR LAND. Each week the PRAYER POINTS will follow II Chronicles 7:14.

It is my strong belief that God wants His Body in ONE ACCORD AND WELL.

If we do this as a BODY, He will do one of two things.

1. He will either HEAL OUR LAND.
2. Or He will bring His Cleansing to America.

But, if you are His, He will protect you through whatever is in our future.

There is no guarantee that God will heal our land. The sins of this nation may be too raw, too deep, too insidious and too overt for Him to stay His Hand of Judgment. He has ways and means of cleansing a nation's sins. Throughout Biblical history we see when, where, and how God cleanses cultures, nations, and people groups. We are no exception. This may be our last opportunity to make a change in this nation.

If you do not join this prayer initiative, then please join in one of the others to PRAY FOR THE USA.
MAY GOD'S GRACE AND MERCY BE WITH YOU THROUGH THESE VERY PERILOUS SPIRITUAL TIMES AND MAY HE BLESS YOU GREATLY . . .
AND STRENGTHEN YOU TO STAND.

MARY HAS WRITTEN A SEVEN-PAGE DOCUMENT -- TITLED "CHRISTIAN AMERICA, WE HAVE A PROBLEM" -- which is the foundation for this prayer vigil. If you wish to receive this document, send Mary an email at: prayer@cwoi.org

WEEK ONE: Setting the Stage

Prayer Vigil: WEEK ONE
Sunday, September 26 - Sunday, October 3

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Heb 4:16)

PURPOSE OF THE PRAYER VIGIL:

• To pray through 2 Chr. 7:14 during the first few weeks of the vigil, in an attempt to bring the Body of Christ into one mind-the mind of Christ. Then to PRAY FOR THE USA in order to change the spiritual direction and return decent moral values to this nation.

EFFECTIVE AND FERVENT PRAYERS:

When desiring to change a person's heart, transform a city or a nation, or inspire world changing events, it is imperative to incorporate intercessors within the Body of Christ to be praying:

• In Unity-being in one accord-with one mind.

Praying in "one accord" is a foundational principle of prayer. Miraculous results in prayer are never born out of division-only unified minds and hearts in prayer produce miracles. Unity also means that we must humble ourselves before God and man.

Unity is a transforming ingredient of corporate prayer. It is imperative to be in agreement when you are in corporate prayer.

Mat 18:19, 20 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

• With Focus and intent, creating Strategic Prayers and changing the environment. Having a goal and pursuing it in prayer can change the direction of a nation. Prayer warriors must know for what they are praying and why, then be diligent in their task. This involves humbly seeking the face of God through His Word and praying the scriptures. This agreement with the Word spawns effective prayers. God-inspired, intelligent, persistent, and fervent prayers create strategic intercession.

The Body of Christ must have a PLAN and PRAY IT INTO EXISTANCE. Strategic, Unified Intercession Literally Changes Things. As the spiritual climate is changed through prayer, transformation begins to manifest in our present physical environment. The depth of Godly, corporate, intense, and focused prayers will determine the outcome of our prayer efforts.

• And Examining yourself.

I know that you have prayed for years, but so many of us do it almost by rote. In this very serious battle that we are in, each of us needs to step back and take a look at ourselves. These first few weeks are not redundant as one might think. They will finely hone us for the battle we are in. They will strengthen us as a Body to Fight the Good Fight of Faith.

WEEK ONE: Prayer Points

PRAYER FOCUS FOR THE WEEK:

"If My people who are called by My name . . ."

2 Chr 7:14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Please note the conditional word in this part of the scripture is "if". This little word is often overlooked and/or ignored. It is extremely important to this verse. "If" we do abide by all the conditions of this verse "then" the Lord will hear our prayers, forgive our sins and heal our land. Conclude for yourselves what the result will be if we do not fulfill the conditions of this scripture.

PRAYER POINTS ARE SIMPLY SUGGESTIONS:

The PRAYER POINTS are merely SUGGESTIONS. As you begin to pray each day during this week over this portion of the scripture, the Holy Spirit will lead you into a greater expansion of your prayers. The point is to pray each day for the Body of Christ in America to be encouraged, be lifted up, pulled out of their despair, and get them moving as a Unified Body according to the Word of God. It is also a good thing to always meditate on and pray the scriptures.

We begin this week by praying for the Body of Believers in the USA-God's people who are called by His Name.

-- Pray for God's people to be awaken from their slumber and rise up, for their time has now come. Pray for them to rejoin the Army of God. Some do not even know they have been called to the Army. Awaken them and teach them. Many are AWOL.

Isaiah 60: 1-3 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. (NKJV)

-- Pray for those who have been distracted and led into deception by the enemy. Pray that they will have their eyes opened to the error of their ways and respond to the full truth of the Gospel. This may not be easy for some, but it is a must for them to be a part of this Army. Deception will always lead to Division and Division, unless mended can lead to Destruction. Pray against the evil ways of the enemy.

Jer. 29:8,9 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are in your midst deceive you, nor listen to your dreams which you cause to be dreamed. 9 For they prophesy falsely to you in My name; I have not sent them, says the LORD. (NKJV)

-- Pray that those who are weary and tired of well-doing will receive a new refreshing from the Holy Spirit. Pray that they return to their first love full with spiritual energy. Pray that we all learn to wait on the Lord and obey His Word to us.

Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)

-- Pray that the ones who are discouraged will have fresh fire set under them and allow them to see "hope" instead of "defeat." Pray that they become the "encouragers."

Rom. 15:4,5 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. 5Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

-- Pray for those who have fallen into apathy and neglect of their faith; that they will be shaken and awakened to the severity of the times. Pray for the lukewarm and the back sliden to return to the Lord.

I Timothy 4: 14, 15. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all.

-- Pray that the Body of Believers in this nation get rid of their "self-centeredness" and begin to live a life, which is fully dedicated to Jesus Christ and His Word. Pray that they become true followers who are "Christ-centered." Pray that they forsake the "things of this world."

Joshua 24: 15, 16 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. 16And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods; (KJV)

Matt. 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. (KJV)

-- Pray that the Body of Believers in this nation will learn to face the future without fear, with an unmitigated FAITH IN OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. Pray that their only fear will be the FEAR OF THE LORD.

Proverbs 14:2 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge. (KJV)

-- Pray that as the Army is mobilized and unified. Pray that we will be taught and trained by the Holy Spirit TO STAND. Pray that this powerful Army of the Lord will function with no compromise.

[Footnote from Sara Ballenger: Pray that believers in our time would be endowed with the zeal of the Huguenot martyrs on the sands of Matanzas inlet who also "functioned with no compromise."]

Eph. 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brother, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Thank you for praying with us this week. I know that the committed prayer of the faithful will avail much.

James 5: 16 . . . . The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
